[YEA] Corry from Detroit, Mi writes: "I had an eye infection over the course of a week. I put some antibiotic drops in my eye a couple times and it started to get better, so naturally I went out of town that weekend and didn't think about bringing more drops. When I woke up the next day with my entire eyelid swollen and red, I decided to try washing with green tea. I steeped the tea in a mug and then cooled the water til it didn't burn. I washed all around my eye (lid, corners, creases) and then turned my head slightly to the side to let the warm tea get inside my eye (this doesn't hurt, the heat actually takes away some of the soreness! ) I washed my eye out this way every two to three hours and before I went to bed. At first, I thought this was making it worse, but after a solid 24 hours, I started to see results. Now after a few days, my eye is pretty much back to normal, although I'm going to continue with the washing until I'm sure the infection is gone. This remedy was great, although it took a little time.

Adaj40 from Gilroy, Ca, Usa writes: "I work in a large office that was formerly a warehouse. In August, while on vacation, I had a flare up of red eye. First in both eyes, and after visiting an optometrist and using Topomax, now in my right eye only(still). He said I had an upper respirtory(sp) infection that settled in my eye. I saw my MD and he gave me antibiotics which didn't help and I also went to an opthamologist who didn't see a problem. Could something viral last this long? In the past week I've been taking two Benadryls a day, which seems to help somewhat(especially with the runny nose and gritty eye feeling) but I don't want to take them forever! I've also noticed that when I use the computer in a darkened room, my eye really burns.

I mention the building because four of my coworkers have also developed eye problems (suspected pinkeye, iritis, etc) and I'm wondering if there is something in the heat/air system that can be causing this! I thought that since I was up in the mountains when I contracted this, maybe I inhaled a spore or something(if that's even possible).

I would really appreciate some advice on this!

[YEA] Ellie from Santa Rosa, Ca writes: "Hi new friends,

Recently after days of air conditioned air I had a flareup of red eye which I had suffered from greatly in the past. It was progressively worsening.

On last Wed. Evening I was all but bleeding from swollen blood shot eyes. My vison has never been affected except trying to see through the sore, swollen, weeping awful looking stringy mess.

I read what you said Ted, about the body making alkalinity to address acidity. My tears were at 9ph. I tried a 7ph ACV/BS mix and it was soothing but didn't help the swelling.

I started and continue to drink 1 TBSP of ACV in water every 2-3 hours and included celery juice. I added a garlic remedy to it.

I crumpled a cabbage leaf in water for eye wash. It was 7ph and perfectly soothing. The swelling began to decline. I put two cabbage fresh leaves on my eyes under my linen sleep mask for two nights.

They are GETTING WELL. Tonight I went out in public and no one knew my former travail.

ACV and CABBAGE- who knew?

Thank you God and Thank you Ted and new friends

[YEA] Lattelisa from Shelton, Wa writes: "I kept sleeping with my contacts for weeks and noticed my eyes getting a little more uncomfortable everyday, but this morning they were gooping pus, red, and tearing. I decided to throw out my contacts and take it easy today.

First thing I did was use a drop of colloidal silver, it felt slightly gritty for the first 10 seconds or so, but then felt wonderful afterwards. I continued to add more drops since it finally made my eyes feel better, and then another drop every hour so so afterwards.

At noon I also put warm and then cool Earl Grey tea bags over my eyes this afternoon and put a tiny bid of neosporin around the rims of my eyes and wiped the remainder away.

This afternoon I was able to put a new pair of contacts in my eyes and they really feel wonderful. I think the colloidal silver worked the best though. Every time I put another drop in my eye, it just felt so much better.

Diane from Los Angeles, California Usa writes: "When my daughter was 12 years old she woke up with what I thought was pink eye in both eyes. The pink eye would not go away no matter what I tried and finally I took her to a local doctor that took a test and told me she only had pink eye and not to worry. HE WAS WRONG! Well the pink eye would not go away and she also began having problems with her leg muscles. One night we took her to an emergency room and the doctor there made an appointment for us about her pink eye.

Seems that her body was attacking itself and the pink eye was actually her body attacking her retinas!

Doctors at Loma Linda had a round table discussion and could not figure out what was causing her problem. To save her eyes the doctors used steroids in her eyes and eventually the problem stopped but not before eating away at her retinas! If you look at her eyes with a professionals equipment my daughter's retina's look square!

So be very careful about any member of your family having pink eye. If the pink eye refuses to go away see an ophthalmologist.

Thank God what my daughter had was pretty rare.

[YEA] Wendy D from Houston, Tx writes: "The last two times I've had pink eye, I've used regular neosporin found at the drug store. I use a q-tip to apply it at the corners of my eye and on the lids like you would eyeliner. Do this once in the morning and before you go to bed. This has cleared it up very quickly.

Neosporin contains antibiotic ingredients that will take care of the bacterial pink eye.

Warning: Do be sure you aren't allergic to neoporin. Apply a small amount to your inner arm for a couple of hours. If no redness shows up, you should be good to go. My husband is allergic to it and it causes severe redness and swelling on his skin.

[YEA] Mommy V from Washington, D. C. writes: "Recently, my 16-month old son woke up with a puffy, oozing, bright-red eye, which he rubbed and rubbed. I was not willing to try ACV on a baby, as I'm sure it burns like crazy. I had some coconut oil on hand, which I used until I could run to the store. But, he rubbed and rubbed, leaving an oily mess all over the clothes and furniture. That evening, I purchased some colloidal silver (30 ppm), and placed one drop in each eye, twice a day for two days. It cleared up in 24 hours, but I continued for another day just to make sure he'd licked it. The drops were gentle, quick, and effective.

[YEA] Sheila from San Diego, Ca, Usa writes: "I've had pink eye 3 times in my life. What worked the best was colloidal silver. One drop in each eye every 4-6 hours; no touching or rubbing the eye(s); washing hands and washing anything that had touched my face (towels, pillow case, etc. ), and depending on the severity, the pink eye cleared up within 24 hours to 3-4 days. It's also important to be sure and sleep on your back. If you lie on the side that is not infected and a tear travels from the infected eye, over the bridge of your nose, and some how makes contact with your good eye, then you'll wake up with 2 pink eyes. I know, since it happened to me. : (

Now if I feel any discomfort in my eyes and suspect pink eye, I'll quickly use the silver. The Santa Ana winds in So California is the worst time for pink eye. Wear sunglasses if the winds are blowing.

We don't have a coloidal silver maker, so I just buy it at the health food store. I pour some in a plastic spoon and put the affected eye into the liquid to sit for a few moments.
[YEA] Kate from Henderson, Nv,usa writes: "I had a developing pink eye last Friday noticed by my manager, at the same time I was starting to not feel too well. When I got home, my husband had me put a soaked hot cloth on my eye for 15 minutes, later washed it with cloth with baby shampoo and water, then finally washed it with just plain water. I searched on the internet for added information and saw the silver colloidal mineral testimony so I did it also by using q-tip since we don't have available spray bottle as suggested. I did the washing one more time the next morning and kept using the silver colloidal mineral using qtip as an eye drop all throughout the day.

By Sunday , it was totally gone-except for my flu. Ever since Friday when I started to noticed I was having sypmtoms of flu I started drinking the Apple Cider Vinegar with water and eat tablespoons of honey which I liked. I love taste of vinegar coz in the Philippines I grew up using it in all my fruits and even drinking it. Anyway, the next day Saturday, on my day off I did it again like morning, afternoon and evening. I never felt weak, I felt strong but I know my body is fighting a flu. The next day Sunday, I kept it going and by the end of the night, it was gone-totally. So thank you earth clinic for your help.

[YEA] Bringeroflight from Los Angeles, Ca writes: "Hi, I was born with "Pink Eye" conjunctivitis and was prone to it as a kid. My mom would always get me anti-biotic ointment from my doctor, which I hated because the ointment was so gooey. One day (I was in my late twenties) woke up with "Pink Eye", went into a Co-Op Health Food store, and walked over to where they had what would be equal to a Pharmacy anywhere else and the person on staff was a blessing because she introduced me to "Rue Fennel". Rue Fennel comes in liquid form (usually about $9-$11) and I also bought an glass eye wash cup for $4.

Instructions: You have to use "Distilled Water" pour into eyewash cup (do not fill to the rim; you will need room for your eye). Drop 10-15 drops (read the instructions on the bottle of Rue Fennel) into the wash cup and put your head down and bring it back up with the wash cup over your eye and move your eyes every which way you can for about 2-3 minutes. Wash the eyewash cup thoroughly and dry with a clean paper towel before you repeat with the other eye. -Repeat this at least three to four times a day and keep a hot hand-towel over your eyes as much as possible (make sure to wash the hot-towel every time before you put over your eyes). It may seem like a lot to do but it is not (Rue Fennel, Distilled Water, Eye Wash Cup). It works!! The moment I begin to feel the sensation of my eyes start to itch, I do this and nothing ever develops. I even do this if my eyes are just tired from starring at the computer screen all day and my eyes feel refreshed.

This will bless you as it continues to bless me! Many Blessings to you and your health! :-)

[YEA] Tim from Surprise, Az writes: "I had really a bad case of conjunctivitis. I made up a mixture of 1 part baby shampoo and 1 parts water in an eye cup and wiped it over my eyelids with a cotton ball. Next, I applied the black tea bags and drizzled it in my eyes along with 2 capsules of eye-bright dissolved in the tea. I found it more effective to pour the warm tea in an eye cup and hold it for about 1 minute on each eye. After a couple applications that day, by evening it had cleared it up. I used Blink eye drops for moisture since my eyes still felt a little dry. Probably from the baby shampoo mixture. When I awoke the next day, for the first time in my life my eyes were clearer than they had ever been. Thanks so much for the tip!"

They help temporarily, but, I tried the sea salt in water and take a q-tip and dab a drop in the corner of each eye morning & night and by golly this has pretty much helped with the scratchy, blurry, feel like you got something in your eye feeling. I work at a computer & this of course dries yours and strains them also. But I can honestly say the sea salt & water drops have helped me in the last of couple of weeks. I was miserable, looked like I was crying or high on drugs all the time, but now, thank God, I feel better and do not have the blurry, gritty eyes now. Thanks EC."

[YEA] Bombshell from Stanwood, Wa., Usa writes: "I've used Boric Acid for all kinds of eye infections. It works faster than any other remedies. When my son was a baby and began to show signs of Pink Eye, I would immediately get out the Boric Acid. I would use about half a cup of warm water and one teaspoon of Boric Acid. Mix really well until the BA is dissolved, then dip a cotton ball squeezing only some of the mixture out (so it doesn't drip all over the place), then dab the infected eye at each corner. Do this two or three times using a clean cotton ball each time. My father is a doctor of Chinese medicine, Homeopathy, and acupuncture. This is a remedy he told me about when I was a teen almost a hundred years ago : ) Don't be afraid to do this to yourself or anyone else. It does not hurt, sting or burn the eyes what-so-ever. And trust me, this works better and faster than any anti-biotic your doctor can prescribe."

[YEA] Brad from San Rafael, Ca writes: "True enough, green tea bags do work if you've got watery, pussy, red, swollen eyes. Yea!

Here's what I did, and it worked exceptionally: brew a nice cup of hot green tea using TWO bags.........let it cool some but keep it hot, but not scalding.......go into the bathroom or use the kitchen sink when ready.

Now, take a bag in each hand and start to slowly rub the bag full of the hot brew on your closed eyes. Obviously a key part of this is that the water not be too hot BUT it should be fairly hot. When you feel it, it's going to give comfort to your bleary eyes, believe me. You are going to love the effect of the heat, and I believe that's part of the cure too - the heat. When the bags cool off some keep dipping into the hot tea again and again. Touch them to your eyes, hold them on your eyes, let them seep into your eyes.

Occasionally tilt your head to the side and run some of the liquid smack INTO your eyes. Roll your eyeball around.

That's it. It will take 24-48 hours to get rid of the pink eye, but you'll get almost instant relief. Keep doing the procedure every 2-4 hours if possible. Enjoy. This cure might be a little less humiliating than the one where you urinate into your own eye....if you're going to try that one don't let mama catch you."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Truthseeker from Woonsocket, Ri writes: "I just read somewhere in cyberspace about a gentlemen who when a Polish grandmother spit in the eye of his brother, his family got real mad. He was 7 years old and his brother was only 5 years old. But his pink-eye was cured by the end of that day. And the lady across the street apologized profusely but identified saliva as a natural cure for pink-eye (conjunctivitis). He says that since then he just swishes water around in his mouth when a doctor diagnosed him as having pink-eye. He says that the doctor told him that there is no known cure for pink-eye (conjunctivitis) other than an anti-biotic placed in the eye and that it takes a week for the anti-biotic to work. However, he says he has found that his own saliva kills pink-eye (conjunctivitis) within a day and it only needs to be done once.

Now, I'm not sure if saliva only works for viral conjunctivitis or bacterial as well...So.... having had pink eye for 2 days now (and I'm almost 100% sure it is bacterial conjunctivitis due to the massive discharge I'm having, mostly in the morning, but also periodically throughout the day)... I just tried it. No swishing, no water, just a teaspoon and a tissue. I spit in the spoon, tilted my head back and poured the spit in my left eye while holding the tissue against my temple. Then I did the same for my right eye. The slimyness of my spit made my lashes hold together for a minute. I just kept blinking to try and be sure the saliva was spreed into all areas of my eyeball. Then I wipped the excess off of my lashes. 10 MINUTES LATER AND I AM AMAZED !!!! The burning and discomfort I have been experiencing for 2 days was gone in minutes. My vision is clearer, and yes in only 10 minutes I can for sure see that the veins and dark red lines that were throughout my eyeballs is VERY diminished. My eyes feel SO MUCH better ! I will report back tomorrow to update my progress."

You can get the dried herbs from a herbalist or health food store. Use 1 teaspoon of the dried herb mixture in 1 cup of boiling water and leave to infuse for 15mins. Strain, then use in a separate eye bath for each eye. For pets dab the eyes with cotton wool soaked in the infusion. Repeat this three times a day or as required until it clears. It is very soothing. In addition I would also recommend to take Echinacea or anything to boost the immune system. "

[YEA] Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, France writes: "I learned how to treat red eyes when my children were babies and I was living in Holland. Just take a piece of cotton wool, wet it in boiled, cooled water and with the eye closed wash it from de outside to the inside. Do this a couple of times every time using a clean piece of cotton wool. It worked for them every time and it has worked for me over the years as well. Usually doing this one or two times was enough."

[YEA] Jeff from Irvine, Ca writes: "Green Tea Cured Pink Eye

I awakened on Wednesday of last week with a crusty, gooey, left eye that was very red and felt as though my pupil was dilated. I boiled water and steeped a bag of green tea in a 1/2 cup of water for 20 minutes. Once the tea bag was at a comfortable temperature, I put on my eyelid and allowed some tea to drizzle into the eye. I kept the tea bag there for approximately 10 minutes and then repeated the procedure several more times throughout the day. Within 24 hours my eye was completely back to normal. Thanks Earth Clinic for the remedy!

[YEA] Sally_oh from Escazú, San José, Costa Rica writes: "ACV cured my pink eye

I found this cure here at earthclinic and tried it: 1 cup warm water, just enough ACV (with the mother) to discolor the water, maybe a Tablespoon. Wiped the eyes with cotton and dripped a drop into my eye. Burns a lot, but it cured my pink eye.

I was not diligent and it came back so I'm going to start over. I've had this for over a year, starting to think I had a tumor or something... Since it wasn't constant and usually only really hurt when my eyes were dry, I didn't think about it until it started hurting. I'm working online now, so my eyes are dry a lot. The ACV treatment helped so much. Thanks, everyone!
