APPLE CIDER VINEGAR ERODING TEETH?

04/01/2012: Cat from Papamoa, New Zealand: "Last year I was consuming about 3 cups of ACV per day but have now cut it down it one or two cups per week. Some time ago I noticed two my bottom teeth were eroded somewhat where they go into the gum and wondered if this could be normal with age (I'm 47). However, last night, I had an ACV before I went to bed, then brushed my teeth as per usual and noticed there was another area that perhaps I hadn't noticed before that was also eroded - but only slightly. Do you think this is caused by the acid in the vinegar? Is there any way of being able to regrow this enamel? I OP about 4 days a week with VCO."

04/02/2012: Hoppimike from Canterbury, Kent, England replies: "I'm fairly sure it can yeah, as do remember it's very acidic. It's highly recommended to dilute it heavily before consuming it. As for remineralizing teeth... I honestly don't know but I have heard it's possible.

Might be worth a look!

ACV is good stuff in my opinion... but you do need to take care with it."

04/03/2012: Cat from Papamoa, New Zealand replies: "Hoppimike, thanks for the smidgen of hope I had from reading your response lol... I only ever used about a tbsp of ACV in a large cup of hot water so I would think that was diluted enough but gee, I had no idea it would take only a year to erode this much. And I certainly didn't have 3 cups EVERY day, many days I did but it wasn't consistent. I looked for a remedy on EC but couldn't find what I needed and now I have thanks to your link!!"

XYLITOL BE USED FOR GUM AND TOOTH CARE

02/10/2007: Johnny B from Livingston, TX: "Since Xylitol is good for your teeth, could you dilute some in a glass of water and swish it for gum/tooth care? Thansk- JohnnyB"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Xylitol is an alcohol sugar which is quite toxic to most cavity-causing organisms in the mouth and at effective doses, studies have shown that it works twice better than dangerous fluoridated toothpastes. Therefore, you can use this to swish around your mouth for anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes to kill the organisms. It at least helped with my toothaches on several occasions. Ted"

RE-GROW TOOTH ENAMEL

01/09/2007: David from Mankato, MN: "Question, Have you found anything for re-growing tooth enamel? A friend's friend ate homemade yogurt from raw milk twice a day for two month and re grew his enamel over his cavities. I don't have access to raw milk, do your readers know of any other cures? I don't use toothpaste with fluoride and also have a hard time finding toothpastes with sulphates."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Tooth enamel can't re-grow but it can remineralize, reducing cavity sizes. Perhaps colloidal silver can often regenerate tissues and help enamel regrowth as silver is well known to cause dedifferentiation of cells or stem cell as Dr. Robert Becker mentioned in his book, The Body Electric. Often cavities are due to lack of bicarbonates to neutralize the acid from bacteria, and molybdenum which helps control pH, and perhaps xylitol which works twice better than fluoride, but yet it is natural and safer still. Perhaps adding xylitol might reduce cavities too. Ted"
