[YEA] 10/08/2012: Ann from Folsom, Ca: "I am a 36 year old who started getting a severe tooth ache 2 days ago and didn't want to take the usual pain killers and stumbled upon mercurius solubis on the internet. Tried it and felt 80% relief. Today I went to the dentist. Took x ray and found that my left upper wisdom tooth has a cavity and has decayed and there is a pocket of infection. I am scheduled to see an oral surgeon. I don't want to take the antibiotics that she prescribed. So I am trying to do the Garlic tx as so many people has suggested and see if it will work for me. I will keep you posted."
[YEA] 08/17/2009: Sandy (sandhya) from Bangalore, Karnataka: "I took a couple of teaspoons of raw honey in my mouth and kept swishing it around for 20 minutes (procedure same as oil pulling), and the spat it out and rinsed my mouth. Voila! Toothache gone immediately!!"
[YEA] 01/18/2008: Jarrod from Fillmore, CA: "Apparently, there are three types of sugar. Glucose, fructose and sucrose. Sucrose is the only kind of sugar which is detrimental to the strength of your teeth. The other two turn out to be good. They trap bacteria and do other good stuff. I don't know all of the technical, scientifical (I know it's not a word, but it should be) theory behind it all, but I have tried this remedy myself and it works! I had a sore tooth for months. I had to stop rinsing my mouth out with hydrogen peroxide because the pain was unbearable. I bought some local honey and started eating a lot (two tablespoons with my coffee in the morning and more here and there when I had the time. Up to probably 10 tablespoons a day. I like honey, so this was easy. I don't think you need that much though. I also chewed on some honey comb that was in the jar. Not sure if that helped either, but it was a good gum substitute. Anyway, my pain is completely gone now and I can rinse with hydrogen peroxide! God bless!"
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 12/23/2011: Tom from Windy City, Illinois: "I had a tooth /gum infection of an upper jaw molar (not the back one) that caused swelling on the left side of my face up to my eye including swelling the eye partially shut. I got prescriptions for antibiotics which brought the swelling down but still left what appears to be a bump abscess on my gum which would cause the tooth to become sore also.
The antibiotics clearly were not working to get rid of the abscess, so earlier today I tried injecting 3% hydrogen peroxide (no stabilizer) at several locations in the gum (2-5ml) in and around the abscess. Warning - doing this will really hurt like hell when actually injecting the hydrogen peroxide, especially the first few injections when the hydrogen peroxide is actually killing the infection under the gum but it seems to have removed almost all the abscess infection - there is little or no soreness from it now - however the area is somewhat sore from all the syringe pokes as I type - I'll have a better idea tomorrow if the infection is completely cleared up when the gum heals some but it's feeling much better already.
I don't know if injecting hydrogen peroxide is 'safe' so I can't recommend it for others, but it definitely seems to have the potential to stop at least some abscesses."
[YEA] 10/01/2007: FR from NYC: "Hi, just wanted to share with you my cure for an infected gum -- hydrogen peroxide. Also wanted to respond to Subashini from Kuwait, because I may have an answer for her about the bad breath and oil pulling.
My story (I'll try to be brief)... got a piece of food stuck in the gum behind one of my front teeth. No matter what I did -- floss, oil pull, swish peroxide -- it didn't come out. I then went to a new dentist last week to have my teeth cleaned and the stuck particle removed. Lucky me -- the hygenist was just filling in for the day and during the teeth cleaning part, said she saw something dislodge but then "lost sight of it". Okay, fine, I thought. That night I awoke in the middle of the night with terrible bad breath. It was so bad it actually woke me up. Yes, I do have sensitive smell!! When I looked at the right front tooth the next day, I noticed that the gum was severely swollen, from the tooth to the roof of the mouth. The bad breath also persisted. I started my holistic regime of oil pulling, then later swishing with hydrogen peroxide. The oil pulling, like Subashini said, made my breath worse. YUCK! I tried swishing with sea salt. No luck. Finally I had the idea a couple of days ago to soak a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and then hold it (tightly) to the swollen gum for 10 minutes. I also pinched another h202 soaked cotton ball to the back side of the tooth where the piece of food had initially lodged. Interestingly, it didn't hurt, but certain areas of the gum turned white. 10 minutes later the white had disappeared. Glad to say that my bad breath smell immediately disappeared and has not returned. My gum is looking a little better. A couple more days of this (soaked h202 2x a day) and I think I will be back to 100%. I highly suggest this technique if you have a tooth abcess or swollen gums from an infection. It is the best way for hydrogen to penetrate, otherwise it just turns to foam if you swish it around in your mouth.
So Subashini, I think your issue may be an infection somewhere in your gums that the oil pulling is bringing to the surface. Infection smells like dental plaque -- quite disgusting. My suggestion is to pull up your top lip (then pull down the bottom lip) in the mirror in daylight and look for redness in your gums. If you can pinpoint an area, then soak it with hydrogen peroxide cotton ball 2x a day for a day or two. I would predict that your issue of bad breath will immediately go away, even after you oil pull.
Oh, one more thing. You will need to bend over a sink whilst holding the cotton ball to your gums and let your saliva run out. You may need to do round 2 during the same session. Most importantly, you don't want to swallow anything! Rinse well afterwards. Hope this helps someone, somewhere. All My Best,"Replies
09/27/2007: Subashini from Kuwait, Kuwait replies: "hi, i tried oil pulling with sesame oil. i have done it for nearly 10 months not even 1 day left out. still my irregular period problem has not solved... only good thing is tartar in teeth's have disappeared... generally i do not get bad breath. after started doing oil pulling i am getting it now. once i leave oil pulling again the plaque formation started in my teeth.... if i stop oil ulling bad breath stopped... i am highly optimistic charactor.... how much i can convenince myself to continue it,,,,it is not working well.... Also by searching the cold pressed sunflower oil... i am tired too much... normal sunflower oil within one day bad breath starting.... i don't know why... whom to get guidence from which website we do interaction with experts... www.oilpulling.com is only giving fewer information.... please advise me if i am wrong... i strictly follow the instruction how to do oil pulling even though it happens to me like this.."
08/14/2009: Pureenergy from Los Angeles, Ca, US replies: "While in college I smoked (I know, very gross), but was also vain enough to keep my teeth white - LOL. I tried all the over-the-counter stuff and my dentist advised me that none of it works (this was before the whitening strip craze) because anything that's going to whiten your teeth must be on your teeth for a minimum of three minutes for any effect to take place. I discovered Hydrogen Peroxide then and have been using it for 20-years now. If you look on the label, it will tell you it can be used as a gargle or rinse when diluted. I began diluting it and brushing with baking soda by dipping a wet tooth brush into the powder then brushing my teeth - great mix. It tastes kind of nasty at first, but goes away in a few days. In my later years, I now just take a swig of Peroxide before getting into the shower and rinse it around my mouth for 3-5 minutes. It's awesome. People constantly ask me how I keep my teeth so white and I fall asleep in the dentist's chair while my teeth are getting cleaned. I'm excited to try the oil pulling next. I LOVE THIS SITE!!!"
05/19/2010: Wen from Bronx, Ny replies: "I like all the advice here, but what disturbs me is it is rare that anyone states exactly what they did. "oh, i used hydo perox" well, did you use it full strength on a cotton ball in your mouth or was it mixed 50/50 w/water? what strength hydro-perox? and the same thing with all the other touted remedies on here, it is very rare that anyone cites specifics details; it's just "i used this and this and this-and my symptoms disappeared".
i see "exact ingredients and measurements" is requested above this box, but no doubt, few read that sentence or want to bother writing out details(too much trouble)."
[YEA] 05/02/2007: Julie S. from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida: "Hydrogen Peroxide 3% solution has cured my toothache. I had a nasty cavity that was causing a lot of pain. I couldn't chew or put any pressure on my teeth on the left hand side. I read about the amazing cures with hydrogen peroxide & decided to try it. I took a shot glass and diluted it 50/50. From the first time I swished the rinse to the present, it has worked like magic! Not only has my toothache gone away, but my gums look & feel so much better! I also put hydrogen peroxide drops in my ears to prevent cold & virus. It has taken away earaches and sore throats."
[YEA] 02/06/2007: Kim from Westport, MA: "I began using hydrogen peroxide and prohealth mouthwash to take away the pain of a lost filling as I have no dental insurance. I began to notice immediate results in pain, diminishing so I continued to gargle and swish on affected area several times a day for 3 days: ratio is 1:1 equal amounts. I still have the lost filling and on occasion when food enters and bacteria begins to grow, I swish the mixture and it cleans it out and I am good to go. I hope this helps. It sure did me!"
[YEA] 01/01/2007: Brandee from Longwood, FL: "Gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide cured my peritonsillar abscess. I would not have believed it if I read it on this site. But, I was facing a very painful procedure to drain a peritonsillar abscess and read on a different site that gargling with hydrogen peroxide sometimes helps. I did two gargles about 2 minutes apart. Less than 10 minutes later I coughed up (I know, GROSS) a whole bunch of blood and puss. Instantly my throat felt better."
[YEA] 10/31/2006: Nancy from Houston, TX: "I had been to this site a week or so ago and remembered I had read Hydrogen peroxide was good for a mouth rinse. So when my tooth became sore and swollen I threw one capful of 3% in my mouth and also threw in a capful of water, swished it around the sore tooth and let it do its thing for a couple minutes, 2 times a day and the second day the swelling was gone and the tooth was much better! Today I don't have any pain! I thought of all the people who wont do this and who would spend hundreds of dollars at a Dentist's office instead. *SMILE*"
Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda
[YEA] 03/10/2012: Lynn from Vero, Florida: "I suffer from horrible absesses. Pain almost as bad as giving birth. I had a molar pulled 2 years ago due to one that I had left untreated.
I also gave up on comercial toothpaste. I started using ONLY baking soda to brush all my teeth. I was advised by my last periodontist to brush UP and DOWN, not side to side. Side to side brushing causes gum irritation and eventually will cause receeding. Mine have. Start at the gums and brush down ( for your bottom teeth you'll actually be brushing UP :)
I will actually wet my brush with HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, then dip into the BSoda. Now I will begin the brushing. I do this several times a day, even in the car while driving.
In conjuntction, I use those little plastic flossers found at the dollar store, as much as possible thru-out the day, in the car, at work, in front of the computer, on the phone, etc. You can HP rinse any time of the day as well. A quick swish and your done.
I have not had an absess (infection) in over 10 years since the first one. Once you get an absess, or even something as common as a toothache, your tooth may be damaged and should NEVER be ignored. Getting rid of the pain is a temporary fix. The problem is still there, and by ignoring it, you are putting yourself at risk of serious infections going in the bloodstream, and/or brain. I read of a man who died from a tooth absess finding its way into the brain. After I heard that, I stopped ignoring all tooth pain.
The general health of your entire body is connected to oral hygiene.
Bypass the Colgate. Try the BS/HP brush and wash instead... You won't regret it, you'll save alot of money, your teeth will be whiter and your overall health will be better. TRUST ME, an experienced absessor!"
Hydrogen Peroxide, Glue
[YEA] 11/18/2009: Jack from Toledo, Ohio: "Just like thousands of other's I had 3 fillings fallout which I attribute to drinking "Mountain Dew" which at the time I had no idea it cause's teeth to lose emanel and even split or break off.!
and now just like others I have no insurance to pay the exorbitant fee's of dentist's and I knew, and felt the pain and abcess had to go ! "But how"??
Well, for the past 3 months I've had "no pain" and I filled the lost fillings with "no pain"! For the fast relief of the pain and to stop the abcess that I had I took the cotton off of a cotton swab and soaked it in 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, and put it in the cavity where the pain and abcess was, until all the pain was gone, which wasn't very long !After that, every time I shave or use bathroom I swish a small amount of HP around in my mouth(this kill's all the germs and bacteria in your mouth) "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE LOST FILLING'S?"
I tried some "DEN TEMP" and all it did is fall out after the first meal I had! But I got a small bottle of
gorilla glue AND put about 6-8 drops on a plastic surface, let it set until it started to harden and took a tooth pick and put some of it on the end of the tooth pick, then applied it into the cavities until each was filled,(I also found the cavity doesn't need to be dry!)it sticks just fine and I eat with the GG in and I still swish the Hydrogen Peroxide and My abcess has stopped and "I'm in "NO PAIN AT ALL"!
I fully realize I'll need treatment at some future point when I can afford it. "BUT FOR NOW I'M HOLDING MY OWN!""
03/29/2012: Hollygolightly from Tigard, Oregon replies: "I am so glad to hear I ain't the only one trying to hold them own on the dental front! Resourceful guy - thanks for your advice. Made me feel better, too :)"
Jaw Bone Infection Remedies
02/25/2014: Spring from Anywhere : "Hello everybody, I am looking for a jawbone infection remedy, the dentist recommended to pull everything out, any advice will be greatly appreciated."Replies
02/25/2014: Debbie from Lodi, Ca replies: "Hi there, just curious if you are taking Fosamax or the generic drug for prevention of osteroporosis? A side effect of the drug is a condition called osteonecrosis of the jaw also known as jaw death. Both my mother and mother in law recently had teeth pulled due to this drug. Last spring my mothers femur broke due to this pill that was supposed to make her bones stronger! Needless to say neither women are taking this dangerous drug any longer.
Good luck to you! Sincerely, Debbie"
02/25/2014: Prioris from Fl replies: "One possible option is ozone therapy ... "Infusion of medical oxygen/ozone into infected jaw bone (cavitation)." Finding a dentist and traveling to where they may present some obstacles. I would also investigate using dmso with something else like h202 to kill infection.
The state of dentistry on this planet is horrible. Saving teeth just isn't on the agenda. When you go to a dentist, they can put you between the hard ground and a rock."
02/26/2014: Timh from Ky, Usa replies: "It is wise to keep all body parts as much as possible. Swishing Colloidal Silver in the mouth will proly be your best first try for this infection. If this doesn't work, try swishing MMS (Miracle Mineral solution) as directed. Check Genesis II Church Of Health & Healing dot com for specifics."
Jaw Cavitation Remedies
12/28/2013: Britee from New Jersey: "Hello, Anyone have Cavitation surgery and know of less invasive ways to get rid of a cavitation. Really nervous to do this but have TMJ and the biological dentist found a cavitation and seems so invasive and makes me sooo anxious. I don't know if I can do it. Any alternative treatments?"Replies
12/29/2013: Oldriska from Prague, Cz replies: "Hi Britee, sorry I can't help answering your question because I haven't had that surgery myself (although I do have TMJ and a nerve damage in my face). I suggest you look up "Cavitation Surgery Forum" on Curezone, there's a lenghty tread about this treatment there and you are likely to find personal experience of people who'd been through this. Hope this helps. Oldriska"
12/29/2013: Britee from New Jersey replies: "Thank you so much. I have been on that and every site trying to find some alternatives or help but it looks like it is what it is.... I think the only way is to go in and clear the infection.. ugh.. thanks for the response."
[YEA] 06/17/2012: Wongas from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia: "For Gum Disease = 1x Multivitamin each day
Tooth Abscess = 1/2 tsp crushed Magnesium Chloride in a Glass of Water 2-3 times a day
With both of these remedies you will notice results within a few hours. Pain, tenderness and swelling will gradually reduce until it is complete gone in a 2-3 days. If you have some Magnesium Chloride just before bed, you should notice your abscess has greatly improved by the morning (instead of worse as usually happens). But as the day progresses you will notice it start to become tender again. I believe the reason this happens is because your magnesium levels are still very low and you need to take some more in the morning, and again at lunch time if you feel it necessary, to get your levels up to a satisfactory level.
I am convinced by my own experimentation that both of these conditions are the result of a nutritional deficiency. One being Magnesium deficiency and the other being a deficiency of some or several nutrients in a Multivitamin. I'm yet to nail down exactly which nutrient/s cause gum disease but I know that it's not Vitamin C (well not solely) because I have tried High dose Vitamin C and it didn't work.
My gum disease was confirmed by an xray when I went to the dentist with a suspected tooth abscess. The infection was between the roots in the gum and had not yet reached the tooth. When I asked my dentist how one gets gum disease he said that it can occur when you are run down and your immunity is low; maybe after a hard weekend (wink, wink). As soon as he said low immunity a light bulb when off in my head, 'DEFICIENCY!!! ' My dentist prescribed antibiotics, but I went home and started taking a multivitamin each day. And sure enough it got better! Due to being inconsitent with most things in life, my gum disease has often returned in the past year and I have successfully treated it each time with a Multivitamin a day.
My tooth abscess on the opposite side of my mouth, was not confirmed by xray but the reason I am certain it was an abscess is because the Multivitamin didn't work at all and the tooth had partially broken away. After much research and experimentation I healed the abscess and gum with Magnesium Chloride. I am now seeking to try and remineralize my broken tooth (something I've heard many rumours about) by taking the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K as per Weston A. Prices claims. At the moment I'm taking Cod Liver Oil for A & D, a separate vitamin E capsule and still need to find a good source of Vitamin K. I'll keep you posted on how that goes."
[YEA] 01/01/2008: Nadine from North Bergen, NJ: "Hi, I've recently begun taking Magnesium Citrate in powder form on a near daily basis along with blackstrap molasses. I'd had a very painful toothache for several weeks (in addition to or resulting in an earache..) and without dental insurance I really can't afford a dentist. After about 3-4 days of taking a teaspoon of magnesium the pain was completely gone! I also no longer have any sensitivity from sweet or very hot/cold foods and beverages. I've made this remedy part of my daily routine and hope to discover more health benefits of this great mineral.
This brings me to something I hoped perhaps Ted or another reader may shed some light on; I came across something called Transdermal Magnesium Therapy which allows the body to absorb magnesium through the skin, and it's supposedly superior to oral supplementation. Several articles mention that magnesium chloride is the preferred form, although they don't describe the application method. They only refer to Magnesium Oil which is a little pricey. Is there a homemade version of this therapy? I appreciate your help, thanks in advance!"Replies
05/24/2011: Nevadasmith from Smithfield Township, Pa replies: "You can make your own magnesium oil by buying magnesium chloride ice melt. Make sure it is not a blend that simply contain magnesium chloride. A small amount of other salts is OK like 1% to 3% sodium chloride or calcium chloride or potasium chloride.
Mix equal parts of the magnesium chloride with hot water and let it dissolve and you have magnesium oil. Or simply add 2 tablespoons of magnesium chloride to a foot bath or up to one cup to the bathtub and soak in it for 20 minutes to a half an hour.
My wife and I do this and we also take magnesium citrate powder adding one scoop to a pint of water and drinking half of it in the morning and the other half later in the day. It can take up to 6 weeks to correct a magnesium deficiency. For some people this works to eliminate high blood pressure, backaches, muscle cramps, etc. After correcting your magnesium deficiency you may want to add calcium to your supplements with the magnesium to maintain the proper balance or simply eat magnesium rich foods. One of the richest food sources is rice bran.
I strongly recommend reading the book, The Magnesium Miracle, by Carolyn Dean, MD."
