Now here is something that worked for me: eat up to 12 tomatoes raw only & if you can find raw cheese, unsalted for pain this works great. I got up to 7 tomatoes & the abscess burst! I had a tuff time to find unsalted cheese so I bought it at least raw anyway. The main thing is the tomatoe. My abscess has not returned in 2 years. have fun.. bob"

Try Red Clover tea. One teaspoon of Red Clover in a strainer or infuser, pour boiling water over it in a cup to cover, steep at least 7 minutes. One cup twice a day; after the pain dies down take one cup once a day. This one is very effective. I held off the pain of an abcessed tooth for 5 months with just Red Clover. When it was finally pulled the tooth turned out to be the biggest honkin' double abcess I'd ever seen and the surgeon was pretty impressed, too. I would have kept the tooth and mounted it, but it's illegal to give that to the patient in the state of Minnesota. When I had the tooth pulled, I used no antibiotics, just 12 garlic capsules and 3 dropperfuls of Olive Leaf per day. Look ma, no infection!"

11/18/2009: Sk from Redmond, Wa, U.S.A. writes: "abcessed tooth problem
hello, i have a molar tooth which has huge cavity in it and part of it is broken. like i can feel the empty space with my tougue , and can feel the nerve sometime. i am not using my left side of my jaw to chew the food since i dont want put pressure on broken tooth and also food might get stuck in the hole. Now the dentists gives me 2 choices whether to get root canal which he thinks might or might not survive. Or to just get the tooth removed. Does anybody have any suggestions if any natural remedy can help my condition.
thanks
sk "
11/19/2009: Phil from Dearing, Ga, USA replies: "Hello Sk. I don't know anything about this, but Robert that posted the Mini Beet Protocol on here under REMEDIES has some post on curezone.com. In one of these post he mentions about BUTTER OIL, being a cure all for teeth and cavity issues. It seems a though it is produced from raw milk. Just go to curezone.com and search for Robert Von and mini beet protocol and you will find it. I can't remember exactally where on there it is, but I did read about this just the other night as I was searching for more info on the MBP... Other than what is already here on Earth Clinic."
11/19/2009: Phil from Dearing, Ga, USA replies: "Hello again Sk. I went back and found it: You go to curezone.com, then in their serch box box type in Robert Von mini beet protocol, click search, then click Re: I'm already happy w/minibeetprotocol by: jafunk. Then look at the top of the page and click on food stuff to think about. There you will find what he has to say about butter oil... The entire article is a good read though. If all else fails, this is what came up on my computer.
http://curezone.com/Forums/am.asp?i=1164794
I would urge anyone interested in the mini beet protocol to read this article as well. Lot's of good stuff."
11/19/2009: Dj from Pdx, Or replies: "Sk,
If you are not happy with your dentists answer then I would get a second opinion. Did you ask the dentist why he could not treat it like any other cavity and put a filling in it? I swear my dentist drilled out half a tooth before he filled it.
I would also recommend that you rinse your mouth with warm salt water after every meal while you find your answer. The salt is anti-bacterial that will help keep your mouth and that tooth healthier until you make a decision.
And stop using toothpastes like crest or colgate. Any of those are really bad for your teeth. Find a really good natural product. The website Skin Deep can help you find safe products... http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php
If you don't already, check out oil pulling. The OP will help keep the tooth clean. From my experience I would say it would also build up a little strength in the tooth. OP will not, however, fix the tooth. There may be a little pain the first couple of days but I believe that is normal as some of my friends who have started OP have reported the same.
I use sesame oil and a really good peppermint essential oil. About 6 or 7 drops of peppermint to 1 cup of oil (depending on how strong you want the peppermint). I mix it up and keep it in a plastic container in the shower. The peppermint is good for keeping bacteria at bay too.
I hope your back to chomping soon..."

I have some organic apple cider vinegar so I thought, what the heck? Rubbed some on the infected area a few times and it went away. You'll want to rinse your mouth with water afterwards because of the acid in the vinegar. And yeah, the straight vinegar was nasty tasting but it sure helped with my pain."

07/05/2009: Elaine from Houston, Tx writes: "Hope you can help with my tooth/gum/bone problem. Back in February I had a severe toothache (molar with a crown) along with a sinus infection. I used all kinds of Earth Clinic remedies, and they all helped: garlic, OP, tumeric, charcoal, cloves, etc. The major pain subsided and I was left with pressure pain only, as in chewing or clenching. Sometimes there is a dull ache. Then I noticed that the gum was very sensitive or rather the bone under the gum on the outside and inside (palate). Went to the dentist. He said the root was dead, calcified, but that there was infection present in the dead root that seeped into the surrounding bone. He said since the root is dead there is no blood supply so antibiotics (or presumably all natural remedies) cannot get inside to stamp out the infection. According to him there are two solutions: 1) root canal and 2) extract the tooth. I have been oil pulling (sesame oil) twice daily for almost three weeks now. All pain has essentially subsided except if I press with my finger on the tissue around tooth (bone underneath), then it is very sensitive, which leads me to believe that infection is still present. I feel that this infection is taxing my immune system and causing me to have low energy, tire easily and catch colds, etc. easily, which I normally don't. I sincerely believe that there are other options, I just haven't stumbled on them yet."
07/05/2009: Debbie from Punxsutawney, PA replies: "I would up my intake of Vitamin C alot to help my immune system fight off the bacteria. When I was having periodontal problems I started taking Vitamin C, bioflavanoids, Vitamin K, Vitamin D, a good bone builder supplement that must remain un-named, Magnesium and Boron. The dentist couldn't believe how I grew the bone back and how the pockets diminished. I went from being a candidate for a full set of dentures to having my teeth once again firmly anchored in my jaw. But if the tooth continues to give you problems, I would have it out; I think root canals are a major source of whole-body inflammation and do more harm than good to a person's over-all health. A root canal is like having a splinter in your jaw and is nothing but a well of bacteria and inflammation constantly seeping into your body. Root canals put a strain on your entire system 24/7. "
09/07/2009: River from West Of Seattle, Washington, Usa replies: "Debbie, if you are able to rebuild bone in your jaw, please, please, share the rest of your formula including the bone builder. I am a dialysis patient with diabetes and the diabetes, though well-controlled, has really shrunk down the bone in my jaw, to the point that I cannot take regular implants for fear of opening up a hole into my sinus cavity. I am desperate to find out anything that will work, since I cannot afford a bone graft (many thousands of dollars, not covered by insurance) and am also concerned that getting a bone graft or any type of transplant may harm my opportunities to get the kidney transplant I need.
If you have information on ways to rebuild bone in the jaw, please share it with me. Many thanks."
09/08/2009: Rebekah from Athens, Ga replies: "I believe horsetail herb can be used to rebuild bone. I don't have a dosage to recommend to you but when I did a bunch of research on how to help my teeth, I kept being led back to horsetail. It wouldn't hurt to look into it. Best of luck!"

Tried some remedies for Tooth, absess like garlic, but didn't work for sensitivity. Most teeth on left side sensitive to heat, cold and pressure, as well as one tooth on right. Dentists are not any help since he offered to do 6+ root canals for me-- no thanks."
06/05/2009: Gigi from Driggs, Idaho replies: "Hi Lisa: The best and quickest remedy I have found for sensitive teeth is oil pulling with extra virgin olive oil. You will feel the effects after the very first use. Hope you find it beneficial too. Smart to not go for the root canals - those dentists! Gigi"
06/05/2009: Selena from Chula, GA replies: "I have been swishing with coconut oil several times a week. Two benefits I have noticed is 1->my yellow canine teeth have whitened considerably (I have tried without success bleaching, baking soda and peroxide, etc). 2->My sensitivity in my teeth have decreased dramatically. I have not been able to keep the coconut oil in for more than 10 minutes so far because my jaws seem to get so tired and I have such a desire to cough from the congestion it seems to pull from my sinuses, I always end up spitting it out after 10 mins or less. I also only do the swishing 3 or 4 times a week (due to forgetfulness). I am hoping to work my way up to the 20 mins every day because of the positive effects on my teeth. "
06/05/2009: Tim from LA, CA replies: "Hi, I don't know if you use a lot of lemon, but at least in my case, I used to drink a table spoonful or two of lemon juice with my morning class of water and my teeth become sensitive. As soon as I stopped that, the sensitivity stopped. I think AVC will do the same; that's why it should be taken with baking soda.
PS don't trust dentist, most of them try to sell you procedures that you really don't need, especially if they don't have too many clients. Yes they will drill completely healthy teeth if they need money, they are that greedy- they have needs like all of us. House payments and someone must pay for the their Mercedes too :-) This is a dark side of dentistry that nobody talks about."
06/05/2009: Katy from Lynwood, WA replies: "I used to have very sensitive teeth and could not eat citrus drink cold liqueds etc. I have done many things and I no longer have sensitive teeth. 1. I got a night guard. I believe this helped with certain aspects of sensitivity. 2. I had some dental issues corrected. 3. I started brushing with baking soda in a very specific manner. I no longer "brush". I dip my brush in a watery paste and set the bristles next to the gum line and "try to "push in" the baking soda below the gum line. gently miniscule, up down movements. 4. I have used dental oils which I have found on line. I have also tried making my own, using recipes I have found on line, as well as the ingredients on the labels of the commercial brand I have used. 5. I have used an "alternative dental paste that is wholy nutritional which I also found on the internet. I believe my sensitivity springs mainly from the deep etching at the gumline. The alternative dental paste is actually the product that took away pain and sensitivity and it has not returned with the regular use of baking soda. I no longer brush with regular toothpaste. I believe it is toxic to the oral cavity. I have not tried tooth soap. When I used regular toothpaste, I always had a film form on my teeth within hours of eating. My teeth and gums felt slimy and I had was always rubbing my tongue against the back of my teeth trying to smooth out the rough feeling on my teeth. I no longer have any of these issues. Warning. The oils range from 12 to 50.00 per bottle. The nutritional paste, cost about 80.00 for 5 ounces. Baking soda is about .50 for enough to last a year. The oils reach deep below the gums and work around the teeth killing germs that the brush can't see. This is a good precursor to the dental floss. The nutritional paste feeds the teeth, and gum tissues. I am on my 3rd jar. There is also a regular strengh that sells for about 45.00 for 5 oz. The baking soda is what I use now most of the time. I was scared I was going to loose my teeth and that is why I searched out all of these different alternatives. I think flossing is also extremely important. I have done oil pulling also. I took my mouth through a crisis spending at least 15 minutes twice a day brushing the gums and teeth. I believe you have to strengthen the gums and surrounding tissues to iradicate the sensitivities. When I was using the baking soda at first, I also mixed with a little salt and I actually had sores on my gums I had sores that I had to keep brushing, It was very painful. Some other things I did were to pop co q 10 capsules in my mouth and hold the fluids in the mouth for as long as possible.I did this also with vitamin e. The neat thing about the paste, is that you swallow it when you are done brushing and it is green. Don't waste time brushing in front of a mirror. Do your brushing in a location where you will not be in a hurry to finish. 2 minutes is not long enough. I like brushing while watching tv. My quality of life is so much better since I no longer have the sensitivity. Previous to this protocol, I had lived with sensitivity to citrus for at least 12 years. "
06/05/2009: DJ from Pdx, Or replies: "I agree with Gigi on the oil pulling. I was using tooth paste for sensitive teeth and a friend told me to stop using that tooth paste and use spry tooth paste. I did and the switch helped some. It wasn't until I started oil pulling that all the sensitivity has gone away. I started out with EVOO but changed to sesame oil with peperment oil. It may take a few times to find an oil that works for your body type and it will take a month or two for the sensitivity to really go away. But it will work.
Good luck."

SALT RINSE, CLOVE OIL, GARLIC, OR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
[YEA] 01/04/2009: Ken from Detroit, Michigan writes: "I right now have a wisdom tooth ( lower ) that is now infected. I don't have any dental insurance so I have to resort to my knowledge of self-treatment with what I know to work naturally and well. I was in TERRIBLE pain, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. I attacked the pain and the infection that had by now moved into my lower jaw area and starting to swell with multiple herbs. Every 30 or 40 minutes or so I used either a salt rinse, clove oil applied directly to the infected area, garlic applied to the infected area or a mouth rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide. I did this for about 4 or 5 hours starting at about 7:00p.m. After about an hour or 2, the infected area started to feel better. About an hour before going to bed, I had chicken soup with chopped garlic bits added. Right before bed , I made a hydrogen peroxide/distilled water solution to drink down. I used 35% food grade ( you shouldn't use 3% from drug store, that's for rinsing your mouth ). Normal preparation is 10 drops peroxide to distilled water ( you have to use distilled water!! ). I used 25 drops because I was fighting an infection.
Do not have anything in your stomach when using food grade peroxide/distilled water. Don't eat from 1 to 3 hours before or after using peroxide/water solution. After doing all of this, I felt much better. The swelling was down and the pain was virtually gone. I kept the routine up for another 5 or so days to make sure that the infection was gone. Hope this helps everybody!!"

Then I used an ice pack this helped with the swelling and kept the infection from spreading. Ice pack 5 min. on 5 min. off. This keeps the infection from spreading into your jaw and cheek further. My dentist said I did the right thing until I could see him. My tooth looked perfectly fine, nice and white and the x-ray showed nothing wrong, but obviously there was an infection. I am taking a prescription by Green Stone antibiotic for a bacterial infection due to tooth abscess and the swelling is down. I am still using the ice pack, also"

[YEA] 12/28/2008: Dan from Birmingham, UK writes: "I will only post what I know to be fact (from practice not theory). I am posting about this only an hour after actually doing it. I read on another site that a regular tea-bag would "draw out the infection", I thought this was a bit vague and probably rubbish ... however pain will compel us to try almost anything right? After reading that "a build up of pressure will gradually increase pain and eventually lead to the puss taking the route of least resistance either into the mouth or into the jaw bone" ... that really worried me.
I soaked a regular tea-bag in cold water and gently held it in a bite against my molar for about 30mins ... this wasnt pleasant as it tastes bad and if juices from the tea-bag are swallowed it makes you gag. I persevered "just in case" this was going to help me. about 5 mins after removing the tea-bag (actually, I was giving up on the idea) .. sure enough I tasted blood and saw that the fluid under my tooth had found a way into my mouth and I was able to wash it away (there was alot of this foul fluid). I still have some pain as I type this, and I know I still have an infection and will still need dental treatment ... but I'm not worried about damage to my jaw bone now.
I don't know about "drawing the infection" (implying that this will CURE infection) but this method certainly drew out puss and blood from beneath my tooth, relieving pressure and reducing the pain considerably."

[YEA] 03/04/2009: K.Lynn from Mt Healthy, Ohio writes: "a great painkiller and infection fighter for tooth/gum/abcess pain is turmeric for $4.00 or less in your local grocerie store in the spices section. I was amazed when I used it how it took away the pain and inflammation. just a teaspoon in a bowl with just enough PURIFIED WATER to make it the consistency of wet mud. You can use a cotton ball or a small cut piece of cotton cloth with a blob of wet turmeric ( careful- it is what mustard stains are made of), and place it on the tooth so it can seep between the teeth and to the abcess, the taste isn't that bad, especially when you can't sleep or anything w/o pain. If you are lying down, don't forget to take out the cotton ball/cloth before you fall asleep. Also, rinsing prior with PURIFIED WATER, 1 teaspoon of h202 (drugstore kind ok), and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda ( organic-about $3.57 a lb. bag but goes very far when using small amounts. I don't care what Arm and Hammer says, they put something in their bs because organic is MUCH more body friendly). Have the turmeric ready to go in before you rinse because it can be painful if the abcess is bad but the turmeric is also a painkiller. When I think of all the times in my life I used oragel just to cry myself to sleep-ughhh! As usual, how long it takes will depend on the severity of the infection but it sure worked for me. MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU."

[YEA] 01/04/2009: David from Huntington Beach, CA writes: "I just want to report back on some of the treatments for tooth abcess.
I had a bad crown that would bother me occasionally, but I would manage it with a mixture of half baking soda, half seasalt which I put into my blender and ground to a fine powder. You use it as toothpaste. This is an old Edgar Cayce formula for teeth and gum health, and it works great.
Anyway, it flaired up and the salt/soda combination couldn't stop it from progressing. I unfortunately was just changing from one dental plan to another so I fell between the cracks and had to wait a week to get some treatment. The pain was becoming unbearable! Anyway, I was reminded of your website so I looked it up and decided to try the slippery elm, charcoal, clove oil, baking yeast paste.
By this time it was appearent that the abcess was at the root of the tooth and was begining to push the tooth up and it seemed that the paste was unable to really penetrate into the jawbone to effect it...and the pain was getting worse! I read further in that article and the gentleman also recommened taking Turmeric and I remembered that it was ideal for boils also. So I thought, what is an abcess, but a boil in the jaw?
So I made up capsules of half turmeric and half cayanne pepper. Sure enough, within a hour or so, it started to reduce. Encouraged, I decided to go to straight Turmeric and have been taking a heaping teaspoonful in a glass of warm milk sweetened with Stevia 2-3 times a day. It actually tastes pretty good!
Bottom line is that the pain is greatly reduced and I am convinced this could completely cure this problem, but I am going to the Dentist monday anyway to get this crown properly fixed.
Turmeric has kept these last few days from being an absolute nightmare! By the way, I started taking Levaquin (a powerful antibiotic) about 5 days ago, and it did NOTHING! Thank you and thank God for this site!
David in H.B."

When I got home I thought of the remedy for boils which according to this website is tumeric. Well, it seems to me the concept of a boil & a tooth abscess are basically the same. A boil is infection under the skin accompainied by poisonous blood and puss w/inflamation and the same with an abscess but surrounding a bad tooth. So last night when I got home in severe pain (could hardly open my mouth). I put a tsp of tumeric in some applesauce (still almost threw it up) but to my surprise the swelling went down and the pain subsided. It's late morning now and I am beginning to feel a slight discomfort, so I plan on taking more tumeric. Hope this helps someone else."

[YEA] 06/10/2009: Fingz from Barcelona, Spain writes: "Turmeric, Salt, Clove and Garlic cured my abscess
2 years ago my former dentist did a half-assed job on my root canal. I have had problems ever since, with infections every few months. A few days ago I woke up in incredible pain, the worst I'd ever experienced. Immediately went to the dentist and he put me on antibiotics, but there seemed to be no solution to the immediate pain I was in. Took ibuprofen, nothing. Tried vicadin, zilch.
So I did a little research and finally got some relief by putting a chewed clove right next to the infection - instantly the pain began to ease up, but the swelling would not go down. I tried gargling with listerine, using warm compresses, but to little effect.
Finally I hit the jackpot.
1 cup of warm water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
I gargled/swished with this for literally 10 seconds, and the boil just opened up and all the garbage literally shot right out - didn't even need to apply any pressure. With the abscess drained I applied a slice of fresh garlic to the opening, which stung like hell, but it has also helped the infection and reduced swelling. I could actually chew food again!
I returned to the dentist today and he was astonished at how much this thing has cleared up. Granted there is no saving the tooth now, and I will definitely need to get it pulled. But I am thankful to have found relief in the interim and hope this remedy helps some other poor soul out there.
Nobody deserves this type of pain!"

[YEA] 10/11/2007: Kris from Burlington, Vermont writes: "My tooth that had a filling in it broke apart and all that's left is the filling that's stuck in the gum. Anyway, it started hurting hours ago, so I did 3 things:
1) Drank a cup of my own urine. I held my nose and drank it quickly. This is a known cure.
2) Took an ice cold shower for one minute. I'm in Burlington, Vermont, and it's October, so it was very cold. This is hydrotherapy. After the cold shower, I slowly turned the water to warm but kept my head away from the water. A wonderful feeling of relaxation came over me.
3) Visited your site and saw that baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) was recommended for tooth/gum pain. So I poured about a tablespoon of it on my hand and put it right on the tooth/gum where it hurts. Minutes later, the pain left.
Thank you for your website. You are a blessing for doing this! Praise God for your efforts because you're helping people get well. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

[YEA] 12/24/2006: Robert from Orlando, FL writes: "Whenever I get a toothache I think back to see if I took large amounts of vitamins, especially C, and then suddenly stopped. Toothaches can be the result of sudden withdrawal from vitamin C. If so, it's best to return to using it and gradually withdraw from its use rather than do it all at once. Sudden withdrawal from C can cause joint pains as well. Such pains are normally temporary, but they can be quite disconcerting if one doesn't know their source."

[YEA] Lawrence S from North Charleston,SC writes: "if you have a tooth ache and don't want to go to the dentist, here is a cure: take 1000 mg of vitamin C plus one capsule of Echinacea Root. Make sure it has 450 mg of Echinacea and take it twice a day for about 2 weeks. The pain will go away and then you don't have to take anything. One more thing -- don't take them all at once, take them like 9 am and 9 pm or some like that. if you can't take the pain take some pain pills with it. I have a bad tooth and no pain and i don't take any thing for it."

[YEA] 08/19/2007: Stephanie from Montgomery, AL writes: "Warm salt water works at onset of pain, I believe it prevents infection, I have yet to have worse pain after salt water, it just goes away. Hydrogen peroxide is an anticeptic and It works for my husband. As far as the antibiotics, unfortunately many people are allergic to penicillin such as myself as well as kefelx, so there is not a whole lot left that works on abscess tooth. There is e-mycin/biaxin, but they give me horrible stomach cramps. I think natural antibiotics are great, they work better for me. I prefer them over the harsh antibiotics that I am not allergic to.
Also, if you take a lot of antibiotics your body builds an imunity to those antibiotics eventually. That is why diseases, flu's, ect., are getting worse, they are becoming resistant to antibiotics. It also strips away the bio-flora in the lining in your stomach, which can cause a long list of health problems itself, yeast infections, reflux..
however, if it doesnt get better and reoccurs frequently you should not play around with not seeing a dentist, a tooth infection untreated can easily infect the blood stream, causing septicemia, weakening the heart, and could kill you."
