<description>[NAY] Jennfelo from Portland, Oregon, Usa writes: "I\'ve been taking magnesium citrate, the fizzy power, for 3 weeks moving from a teaspoon to a tablespoon a day pretty quickly. It has not resolved the faucets under my arms. I notice improvement with sweating only when I\'m not being social, nervous or excited. For example, I usually get to work with sweat already working a nice wet circle into my clothing. I can get to work dry now which is great, but unfortunately as soon as I begin any interaction with people on the phone or in the office, pit circles graduate. So it\'s a NAY for me... but could offer hope to others.

Yes I understand it is menopause, but for 5 years and all the time. Now that it is summer its 10 x\'s worse. Any suggestions? I ordered Maca and was advised to try Black Coash, I got some and got temp relief which only lasted for a short time. When I physcially work ( I work in Nursing) it is really bad, I have to carry an extra uniform to change into do to being so wet with sweat.

<description> Timh from Louisville, Usa writes: "Tinkerbel, yes I do understand as I have also experienced, first-hand the frustration, disappointment and even anger of your stage of illness. I oftentimes get very angry as a type of therapy. There is therapeutic benefits of anger if one can focus on that aspect alone and not get into danger zones. In the movie Natural Born Killers, Mickey &amp; Mallory had been bitten by poisonous snakes and had become very ill as a result. Frantically rummaging the isles of the drug-store for an antidote Mallory confesses "I don't think I'm going to make it" of which Mickey replies "Get mad Mallory, get mad".

Like many of the members at EarthClinic, you simply must be a little warrior if you are going to make any inroads on your illness. Neither simple nor easy is the nature of human disease, so you must practice patients, perseverance, and trial &amp; error as you continue studies of your illness.

As for the science you spoke of, I gave some specifics of the actions of the anti cholinergic drugs as they have an antagonistic effect on mucus membranes, thus dehydrating the body. Do a search to see if Amitryptaline has ever been used for HH, and definitely consider a "trial" beginning with small doses. Meanwhile and for the present, I found an homeopathic formula designed specifically for HH called "Excessive Perspiration" by Dr. Barbara Hendel. Good luck and Don't Give Up.

<description> Mercedes from Western Wisconsin, Usa writes: "Hi, this is my 1st time posting here. I am convinced that my 81 year old mother has anhidrosis. She feels like she is burning up all over her body all the time. It started out two years ago as infrequent feeling of external heat. Now it is constant. Her internal temperature is always normal. She does not sweat. We are frustrated with her general practicioner doc and internists because they say, "oh it probably her scleroderma, " which translated means, "we don't want to have work at doing any additional investigation to get to the underlying cause. " We thought her blood pressure meds (for conjestive heart failure) And prilosec (for her acid reflux) might be causing the body heat, but after switching her over to other meds without Heat side effects (it's been a week now), she still gets no relief from the heat. Imagine feeling like you are in a furnace and you can't get away from it. It is wearing her out. She is so hot that she gets chills and goosebumps and has to cover up all of the time.

I saw some mention of baking soda and water or sea salt and water as a potential remedy in a couple of posts on this website but did not see the ratios of baking soda or sea salt to water, nor any description of how/why this is a remedy for anhidrosis. Can anyone help me? We are desperate for relief!

<description> Ginger from Texas, Usa writes: "I am 30 year old woman, but as a teen I had terrible problems with armpit sweating. The best antiperspirants seemed to act as sweat enhancers! My armpits were clean-shaven, but my deodorant / antiperspirants still didn't work well. And, I bought the strongest that had rugged, outdoorsy, exercising men in their advertisements! One day, I decided to try waxing my armpits. I didn't want to put my harsh yet poor working antiperspirant on right after, so I rubbed some aloe vera gel &amp; tea tree oil on instead, just so I wasn't stinking. What a difference! The sweating was probably 10% of what it had been, &amp; that was with no antiperspirant! It's like if I have hair in the follicles, I sweat awfully &amp; if they're totally removed, I don't. I find the easiest &amp; most convenient method to do this to use a hair plucking device. I use it weekly. This is really worth trying if you have a sweating problem, want to use a more natural deodorant, or have a BO problem. Although I know it doesn't cure ones odor, the possibility of sweating less certainly can't hurt.

If you're interested in more natural deodorants for whatever reason, read forums &amp; try several if your first doesn't work. The glycerin natural deodorants have never worked for me personally, but some people love them. My personal favorite is the crystal stone. For some reason, the spray &amp; roll-on versions don't work nearly as well. Note about the stone: when it states wet the stone prior to use, it isn't kidding. I find it doesn't work without putting the actual stone in water, even if my armpits are freshly "wet" from the shower. Hope some of this helps!

<description>[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Sarah from Shizuoka, Japan writes: "I had a cut on my hand that I was putting tea tree oil on. I noticed however after 2-3 days that the really bad sweating on my hands had stopped!

I added 6 or so drops of tea tree oil to around 3T of olive oil and covered my hands in it before I went to sleep. The tea tree oil meant it was absorbed quickly, but you may want to alter the timing if you are concerned about the oil getting onto your sheets.

I did this for 2 nights then stopped and it was almost 2 weeks before I noticed the sweating was becoming a problem again. It didn't completely stop my palms from sweating but now I don't have to be nervous when I go to shake hands etc.

*the season has also just changed (spring&gt;summer) so I don't know whether that also had some effect."</description>

<description>[YEA] Jeanne from Atl, Georgia writes: "I had a large container of activated charcoal sitting in my cupboard the last 2 years that I rarely touch. I decided to give it a shot for body odor after reading about it on Earth Clinic. Yes, it works! You need to give it 2 days to get into your system before you notice the difference, then you need to maintain a dosage every day.

I do have a few side effects to note: Activated charcoal is best taken on an empty stomach, but I do not suggest taking it first thing in the morning. I drank my heaping tablespoon in 8 oz of water 2 days ago, then oil pulled. I ended up gagging up acid after 2 minutes of oil pulling. Yuck. This was interesting because I read that charcoal is actually a remedy for Acid Reflux! Well, then I changed to taking my charcoal in the middle of the day, before lunch. That seems to work. However, it does give me a slight stomach ache. You might also try taking it at night, several hours after dinner.

One benefit to the charcoal besides not having to use deodorant or baking soda (that irritates my skin, I must admit) is that I seem to sweat less when I have this in my system. It may be a remedy for excessive sweaters, I don't know... worth a shot. And it is a general detoxer, so that's a good thing in this hot and humid weather. Question for regular users of charcoal. Do you take it every day or is it something you need to stop every so often? Thanks!
