[YEA] 02/26/2009: Matt from Charlottesville, VA: "For stomache ache, reflux, or overfullness, chew or swallow the sticky black seeds of green cardamom pods (breack the fiberous shell by popping between the teeth). Cardamom is a popular spice in Indian and Southeast Asian cooking, and you can find then at Wholefoods in the bulk spice area. I prefer chewing the seeds -- they have a menthol-type flavor -- others who find the taste strong can swallow the seeds like a pill. Without doubt, this is the best stomach ache remedy I have ever found. Seriously, try it -- within minutes you will forget you even had an upset stomache!"
[YEA] 01/02/2008: Lisa from Southeast, USA: "2 years ago I finally got healed of an ulcer for which I'd been taking medication for several years. So when I recently began having that telltale burning, gnawing pain in my stomach, I knew exactly what was happening.
I also knew the whole routine...doctor's appointment, upper GI, ultrasound etc etc., just to have them tell me what I already knew. PLUS, they'd prescribe medications which my insurance will no longer cover because there are now non-prescription strengths of them available over-the-counter. Needless to say, I was willing to try an alternative method to save myself the time and expense. If you've ever had an ulcer, you usually don't have to have someone tell you what one feels like.
Anyway, I read somewhere about cayenne's healing effects. A week ago, I was up and down through the night with that burning, and all the antacids I could chew were simply giving me no relief. So Thursday morning I got up, got brave, and mixed a full measuring teaspoon of cayenne pepper into a teacup of very warm water and drank it down on an empty stomach.
It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected! And while I was warm all over and my stomach burned a little more when the fluid first hit that spot, the pain quickly diminished. Within minutes, I felt better than I had the day before, and as the day wore on, I continued to feel even better.
Anyway, I've repeated this every day now for the past week, and by day 3 the burning pain in my stomach was COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY GONE, even first thing in the morning. I'm continuing the regimen for therapeutic and preventive purposes, just to see if it cures my allergies and other problems. I'll probably reduce the daily dosage now that the stomach problem has subsided, but I'm a believer! And I'm a lifelong advocate of that little red pepper...this is news worth sharing!
Thank God for natural remedies."Replies
[YEA] 03/05/2010: Arlene from Jekyll Island, Ga replies: "Cayenne is a life-saver.....I take it everyday and will continue to take it for energy and detox purposes. There is no better blood purifier than cayenne. It cleans your arteries, lowers cholesterol and improves overall health of anyone who takes it. Combined with a vegan diet you can virtually eliminate disease."
06/20/2010: Mark from Las Vegas, Nv replies: "Cayenne is amazing stuff. Very good for the heart, stomach all else. But you don't need to be Vegan to be disease free or for it to work, in fact the lack of protein of a Vegan diet can cause people to not have enough protein to repair the body. Vegans heal more slowly in general.
It's not for everyone I feel like crap without some meat on very regular basis. It also depends on life style and activity level. Most Vegans do it to save animals, not for good health."
[YEA] 05/25/2011: Kathie from Houston, United States: "For tummy cramps (or the runs) Chamomile tea works wonders- it stops the spasms in your tummy that cause so much pain. Double bag it for extreem measures... If you know what I mean. Roman Chamomile essential oil also works well (just rub it on your tummy). - Do not use the Roman Chamomile for too long or it will stop your bowels. Please note that if you have the runs, your body is telling you that you need to get rid of whatever is inside of you, so do no clog it up too much.
I have also found (from personal experience- with in 30 minutes) that homeopathic ARSENICUM ALBUM works very well for food poisoning (vomiting and the runs), also make sure to take some probiotics to get the good bacteria back.
take care of yourself, KT"
[YEA] 12/18/2007: Mike from Queens, NY: "I had a stomach virus and after 3 nights/days of diarrhea and stomach pain, I tried some over the counter drugs with no results. I was so desperate that I came across your website and I read the article on cinnamon tea. So I immediately tried it and it work about 3 hours after. So I continue to drink this tea for a few days and now I am perfect. Thanks for your information."Replies
04/18/2007: Manuel from San Bernardino, California replies: "I used two cinnamon sticks broken up into smaller pieces boiled in 3 cups of water drink hot with a little sweetener if needed to taste this will stop severe diarrhea in ten-fifteen minutes also good for upset stomach mix with milk for tasty horchatta type drink. Also, garlic in warm milk with small amount of sweetener is great for stomach ailments and gas"
[YEA] 07/26/2008: Cathy from Richardson, Texas: "I was diagnosed with abdominal inflammation. This was in the area of the gall bladder. I tried DGL(Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice). In DGL, the glycyrrhizin compound-associated with high blood pressure-has been removed. I used the chewable kind. Dosage: two tablets when I started to have discomfort on my right side. After many years of having this condition, I have been cured with this product."
EC: Agreed, DGL is a great supplement. If you can't find it in your area of the world, try licorice root tea.
[YEA] 04/22/2011: Mg from Allentown, Pa, Usa: "My Doctors kept giving me acid reducers when I needed a laxative. Now I'm on an 80/10/10 diet and when I eat out of proportion I use a laxitive. No more pain, no mor sick belly."
Eliminate Bleached Flour
[YEA] 11/20/2007: Joyce from Joelton, Tn: "The best remedy I have found for indigestion, acid regurge, GERD, flatulence is elimination of all bleached flour products in the foods you eat - I find I can eat l00% whole grain bread without problems (usually cures most people's constipation problems also). I don't know what chemicals? are used in the bleaching process, but apparently that is where the problem comes from. However, you must really work at getting bleached flour out of your diet, as many pastas are made with bleached flour, many breads say whole wheat but read the ingredients and you'll find that most start off with bleached flour unless the label reads l00% whole grain. Most gravies, dips, sauces, etc. use the cheapest source of thickening agent - bleached flour. So try it and see if it works for you. It's nice having a "cast iron stomach" which has no problems with cayenne pepper, jalapeno peppers, and all that spicy stuff I used to blame my stomach problems on before I lucked up and stumbled upon the real cause of them."
[YEA] 03/22/2008: Will from Houston, Texas: "Two days ago, I was having sharp pains in my abdominal. I swollowed a whole clove with cranberry juice and the pain went away."Replies
[YEA] 01/04/2010: Erin from Tampa, Fl replies: "Thank you for this suggestion! I tried a garlic pill for a nasty case of indigestion based on your recommendation, and it worked fast. Less than a half-hour after I'd taken the garlic capsule, I started feeling relief. If I had to take a guess, I'd wager that the garlic sped up the process of eliminating the toxin that was causing the discomfort. Thanks again for this!"
[YEA] 10/02/2011: Melissa from Crandall, Tx, Usa replies: "I just wanted to say this worked great. My cousin had a stomach ache for days. She had tried tums and other over the counter stomach aides and they did nothing. I read this on here about the garlic and had her eat a clove. About 15-20 minutes later, the pain had subsided quite a bit. I spoke with her today and she said that she is free of any pain now. Thank you for the great advice!"
06/15/2013: I Need Help from Bangkok, Thailand: "HELP. I have stomach pain two hours after eating, if I will eat fruits no pain, but I can't eat the food I like bread, flour containing foods, halitosis I think is present, I am suspecting h. Pylori. This is terrible."
Grapefruit Seed Extract
[YEA] 12/04/2008: Thomas from Searcy, AR: "I was so impressed how quickly the Grapefruit Seed Extract soothed my aching stomach. I think I ate some bad food(fish) earlier in the day and had been ailing for a few hours. I tried the GFSE we had and within 15 minutes it felt better."
[YEA] 01/01/2008: Kerri guthrie from Salt lake city, ut: "Grape fruit seed extract is the very best for a stomach ache 5 to 6 drops in a cup of water. It works also if you swallowed some bad water while swimming or drank some bad water while traveling in a different country. It has a very bitter taste. helps kill the germs and bugs. My child after throwing up and trying many different things was able to go to sleep and rest without pain. It has worked even for my friends!!"
[YEA] 12/19/2007: Mindy from Boston, MA: "Just wanted to add grapefruit seed extract (GFSE) to your list of remedies for stomach aches. I read how bitters have been used as digestive aids for centuries, especially in Europe. The only "bitter" I had around my house was GFSE which I use to disinfect my produce. (GFSE is a powerful germ killer: bacteria, virus, fungus, Candida, etc.) Well I put 5-6 drops in a glass of water and chugged it down fast, and within 10 minutes my stomach ache was gone!!! I drank this bitter water 3x that day and noticed how CLEAR my mind became - another benefit. I had tried other remedies like ACV, ginger, mint tea, but GFSE worked the FASTEST for me. So give it a try. There are other numerous good uses for GFSE which you can learn about on the internet."Replies
[YEA] 04/21/2010: Faithinhealing from Forest Park, Ohio replies: "I used pure PINK GRAPEFRUIT for the same purposes, an upset stomach, and it worked wonders too! I also chewed the seeds because grapefruit juice extract is made from the pulp and the seeds."
[YEA] 09/30/2006: Vikas : "I had severe pain in lower abdomen, and in spite of several medical tests nothing was being detected from past 3 months i was just having pain killers and someone told me about honey cure and i searched net and luckily came across your article. It cured my pain completely , and now i feel quite energetic n healthy.. thanks for publishing such a rich natural treatment."
Impacted Colon Connection
[YEA] 06/25/2008: Jeanne from Atl, Georgia: "Please be careful if you try activated charcoal! I was getting stomach pain 20 minutes after every meal. I finally figured out that my stomach pain started after I took activated charcoal (heaping tablespoon for 2 days in a row - not a lot!). I located the pain in my stomach, found a little lump in the colon, and then used my fist to move the lump to the left. A day later my husband took over, found the lump,(which had moved slightly) and did acupressure for about 2 minutes on the spot-- ohhh yes, it hurt. But within minutes I had to run to the bathroom and the rest is history. No more stomach pain. So please be careful with the charcoal, especially if you have a sensitive stomach! I think that people's stomach aches can be often be an impacted colon. The same thing has happened to me before after eating bread and another time, after drinking psyllium without enough water!
If you press on your stomach and have a painful spot that moves slowly from one day to the next, you may have clogged your colon/intestines. Tons of water helps, but acupressure massage is best to move the obstruction to your bowels and out. One last note is that I was having normal bowel movements even while my colon was impacted, so don't rely on that (constipation or elimination) to judge, but more on the location of pain and whether or not a little lump exists."Replies
06/20/2010: Mark from Las Vegas, Nv replies: "Actually a heaping tablespoon of activated charcoal is A LOT! I have capsules and it says take two at a time I have taken as many as four at a time for gas, bloating diarrhea, preventing food poisoning etc... A heaping tablespoon wold be equal to 15 capsules or so."
[YEA] 01/04/2009: John Smith from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: "Stomach Ache Cures: I have found that a simple home rememdy i have been using for years works greatly and I would like to share it with everyone. MINT works great to relieve the pain. Chewing minty gum, eating a peppermint patty, or anything with a minty flavor will help the pain decrease significantly."
