[YEA] 03/25/2009: Angie from Claremont, CA: "Tibicos: (Chinese mushroom, kefir) cured my constipation, blemishes on cheeks .
I haven't heard of anyone posting anything on Tibicos also known as (Chinese mushroom, kefir)
Little bit of info: The Chinese mushroom was sent to Mexico by Mother Teresa from Calcutta with the desire to help to cure persons, especially those with few resources or living in remote places where there are no doctors or medicines. It is good for arthritis, migraines, cancer, heart, digestive system, liver, muscles, nerves, eyes, skin, lungs, kidneys, and blood. In addition it keeps body temperature regulated, and drinking it helps alcoholics to quit.
Well anyway, I gave it a try after my mom urged me to drink it. I drank the brew and noticed that my constipation that I had been dealing for months went away. It totally cleans out my system. I also noticed that the blemishes that I have had on my cheeks for many years are starting to fade. I could barely notice them now. I just started drinking the brew about 3 weeks ago. My skin looks radiant. A friend just asked me the other day what I was doing to my skin because it was just glowing. I've always had dry flaky skin and to get a compliment like that was just awesome. Anyway, just wanted to share what it did for me. I think that people should know about it."

[YEA] 01/22/2009: Veronica from Denver, Colorado U.S.A.: "Tomatoes (Remedy): I have recently been made aware of the benefits of tomatoes. For facial skin: I was told to cut a slice of tomatoe and rub it on my clean face before going to be and wash off in the morning. The results are amazing it is closing my pores, it has demolished the acne on my face almost inmediately, cleared my face tone and texture. I rub it all over including my mouth and eyes, my skin is looking fantastic.
For hair loss, shine and thickness and growth, I was told to puree fresh tomatoes and apply to clean hair, preferably leave it on overnite and wash off in the morning. It is really messy and I have noticed the first time lost of shine and less breackage, however it being so messy I have not stuck to the regimen wich should be twice a week. The person that told me about this had a problem with her hair thinning and acne, she swears by it and has beautiful hair and skin. Also was told drink it for overall good health, processing it through a juicer by itself or with other vegetables, I will do so, as soon as get the juicer and write back.
[YEA] 06/19/2006: Nature Lover from Grand Rapids, MI: "Tomatoes have improved my skin. They also cure my low-intensity digestion problems. Whenever our skin does not look healthy-- pimples, etc, I and my wife found this very useful: First thing in the morning, take half a tomato. One full if it is small or a Roma tomato. Cut into 4 to 8 pieces. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper powder. Eat it. And do not eat anything for next 30 to 45 mins. That's all. Within 2-3 days, you should notice a change. If you do, continue for next 2-3 days. Make sure you eat it in the morning on an empty stomach. I guess is that it removes certain bacteria/ worms from the stomach and directly improves the skin. Hope it helps you too"
[YEA] 07/03/2012: Carlos from Barcelona, Spain: "Hi Earthclinic. Some of you know me form other posts. Ive tried every remedy for beautiful skin in and out this site. I happen to have sensitive skin with freckles, coupled with rosacea around my nose. Plus I live in a very dry weather so the situation in my face was discoloration around that area redness, dry, rough skin coupled with large pores and dead cells.
I've had sucess using remedies from this site like the oil cleansing method, ACV, hidrogen peroxide or EVCO, borax urine therapy.
Some of those remedies helped cleansing my skin or diminishing wrinkles but none of them and I say NONE has worked like turmeric.
I read that turmeric needs a fat to be absorbed. I use it in 2 ways. First is mix some turmeric with skim milk in a little cup and apply it to my face. I let it dry for 5 or 10 min and rinse with cold water.
The other way is mixing it with coconut oil or sesame oil and massage my face as if it was an exfoliator. Again let it sit for 10 or 15 min and wash it off. This time you will need bathroom tissue to wipe it off. Be careful of using any towel cause turmeric will leave it yellow.
Ok guys IM 30 years old and I had just accepted that my skin was going to be red, dry and rough to touch around my nose forever. Tried every natural and cosmetic product on planet earth including snake creams, aloe soy products, lemon, exfoliators. I just cant list all the products I have used thru the years.
After 1 application I couldnt believe what I saw. The redness was almost gone It didnt light my freckles they were more noticeable cause my skin was clearer. When I touched my face it felt amazing just like new skin, like the skin I had when I was a child. All the damage I had on my skin for years was gone in a few minutes.
Usually after exfoliating, dead cells start to peel of around my nose nostrils, netween my eyebrows etc. I was amazed that no dead cells or dry skin not even 2 days after using turmeric.
I have also noticed the skin on my forhead softer- it used to be dry and a horizontal wrinkle line begins to form. Today when I touch my forhead I see nothing but hydrated skin.
I've found truly a new skin, people you can buy a new skin to your face in the supermarket and its only2 dollars- its called turmeric.
Please if you read this and suffer from sensitive skin, dry skin in your face, dead cells, redness or rosacea run to your supermarket or indian store.
The best thing I have used period. Do it at night and wake up a brand new face."
[YEA] 08/11/2009: Kavi from El Dorado, Tunapuna, Trinidad : "Turmeric for beautiful skin -
My mom suggested that I use tumeric powder as a paste on my face to remove some dark spots around the crease of my mouth. Having tried it several times over the past 2 weeks (not quite every day), I can say pretty confidently that it has been the best thing I have ever used on my skin, even beating ACV.
It is a commonly known home remedy among Indian people, since we use tumeric powder (or hardi/haldi, as we call it here) daily in curries, in tea and also in Hindu prayers. In fact, during Hindu weddings, which can last for days, we have something called Hardi ki Raat (the Night of Tumeric, lol), when the bride's whole body is consistently rubbed down with tumeric and coconut oil for hours during general festivities so that her skin looks amazing on her wedding night. Well, I wonder why we ever switched to store-bought stuff, since this works so well!
Needless to say, it did remove those marks and the dark areas under my eyes which I've always had (and my mom and grandma also have). It generally evens the tone of my skin to a very noticeable extent. It tightens the pores and makes my skin very smooth and even gives it a beautiful warm, healthy glow - which is amazing as I have PCOS and my skin has suffered many hormonal ravages. Though my PCOS is under control, I sometimes get one or two pimples and the tumeric starts drying them up upon application so that they never develop. It is also the only thing that helped the dry patches of skin on my legs left from recently using a soap that I was allergic to - clearing it up and leaving it healed in 2 days after a few days of it not healing on its own.
I basically use it by mixing 1 tbsp. in a small bowl with some milk and a bit of sugar (as a mild exfoliant). I rub my face and any other problem areas with this and leave it on for as long as possible before I shower, usually for about 15-20 mins.
One **major warning** is that tumeric stains very easily and it is difficult to get out of fabric, which is why I apply it while naked and before a bath. It can slightly stain your nails too, so I use it at night and the color fades by morning. I'm experimenting with using something thicker than milk as a base, such as honey or beeswax, so it doesn't drip everywhere. I tried using 1 tbsp. tumeric in some honey with a tiny splash of ACV and sugar, which worked fantastically, even better than the milk.
You can try a lot of different things, but the tumeric itself is great for your skin!"Replies
08/12/2009: Kyra from Cortlandt Manor, New York, Usa replies: "You can even try mixing it with yogurt which offers great benefits to the skin."
[YEA] 01/13/2010: Denfarias from Katy, Texas, Usa replies: "To Kavi from Trinidad - Tumeric for beautiful skin - I wanted to try this as her explanation of beautiful skin made me want the same. I had used tumeric for a boil and it worked so well! I had also read of coffee grounds for exfoliating. So I get a small cup and add coffee grounds, tumeric and a pinch of salt. I get into the shower and start rubbing this on my face. I look down at my hands and see how yellow they are!! OMG! It is not coming off, then I remember I had applied this to my face! As a very fair skinned hispanic women I remember that Kavi had stated she was Indian, which meant her skin was darker than mine! I was laughing so hard thinking that I was going to spend the next few days with yellow skin! And explaining that I read this great remedy on-line!! I continued my shower rinsing my face very well and then washing with store bought face cleaner. Much to my surprise my skin was not yellow! My hands were still slightly yellow but my face was not. I got a good laugh and my face felt very smooth and looked great!
Thanks for the great website it has helped my family and I with numerous home remedies!"
[YEA] 07/27/2010: Holly from La, California replies: "I've had acne since I can remember. I've been on every drug available pretty much, up to and including accutaine/isotrenin. I was fed up and about to go back for more Big Pharma when I found out about this site, and I have to say, this is probably my favorite remedy. I make a paste with about 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp hydrogen peroxide. I leave it on for about 10 minutes. Yes, it makes my face yellow, and yes, I have to work to get it off - I usually use a face scrub and more hydrogen peroxide - but it's worth it. My skin is more toned, smaller pores, acne flares dried up a little. And what's more, my turmeric is old and has been sitting in my pantry for a good 10 years or so, and I still get good results. Imagine if it was fresh!"
07/28/2010: Vtmom from Burlington, V T replies: "How often do you use this paste? Thanks for sharing."
[YEA] 04/02/2009: Sally from Portland, Oregon: "turmeric is gold! i had a nasty boil come on mid november. it would get fierce, then subside to where i thought it was nearly gone, then come back with a vengeance! TURMERIC is the ONLY thing that works! i began taking turmeric on the 21st of february-powder mixed with hot water. then i also made a salve of turmeric powder, tea tree oil mixed with oliver oil and put this directly on the boil. then i bought some turmeric capsules and took 3 3x/day and the boil went down in size and pain within days. today, a little more than a month later, the boil is completely gone, healed and no scar! i will be taking turmeric always! also to be noted, in indian culture and ayurvedic health, taking turmeric is highly recommended for healthy skin and over all health."
[YEA] 12/30/2009: Bodacious from Kaduna, Nigeria: "I made a face mask using a tspn each of turmeric, ground tiger nuts, honey & acv with a few drops of black cumin seed oil. i cannot get my hands off my face. it's so smooth."
[YEA] 04/22/2009: Shirty from Beverly, MA, USA: "Re the comments about urine for the complexion: A Russian nurse told me about a middle aged woman who had the most beautiful, clear ski. Apparently, she applied her own urine to her skin. When you think of it, it is not that strange. The most expensive facial creams contain uremia, basically urine. So, why not give it a try."Replies
04/22/2009: Suzi from Missoula, MT replies: "wow !!!! I cannot wait to read the feedback on this remedy...."
04/23/2009: Audrey from Baltimore, MD, USA replies: "I even heard that kind of remedy, long time ago back in my country when I was kid. I wish I had that courage..but I am satisfied with apple cider vinegar and yoghurt as my facial wash :)"
[YEA] 02/08/2007: Minian from New Delhi, India: "Dear Sir, Nothing more than our own water (urine therapy). Thanks for your web site. I have understood that there is nothing in the world like our own water which is only the solution to cure all kinds of physical and mental sufferings of the people. The remedy lies in the nature. For your kind information, I have been using the gift of nature for all purposes since 1995. God Bless Everyone!"
[YEA] 01/28/2006: Ana from Porto, Portugal: "Hi! Since I became a vegetarian my skin has improved very much. I used to have very oily skin and acne in my back as well. It's all gone thanks to whole yeast, plenty of fruit and vegetables every single day, lots of water, tofu and nuts. I walk 2 hours per day as well."
[YEA] 03/26/2009: Patti from Ewing, NJ : "Vitamin C and youthful skin: I knew someone who used to take Vitamin C crystals several times a day. He looked so young and his skin was always glowing and healthy. He was 40 at the time and played sports so he was in the sun a lot. He told me the he took the vitamin C for a lot of reasons but a bonus was that it worked on the collegan in the skin. He explained it this way. If your skin is the bricks, the collagen would be the morter between the bricks. As you age the mortar (Collagen) breaks down and things start to sag. But the vitamin C works to keep that collagen firm. Naturally I started taking the Vitamin C right away. This was over 12 years ago. I take Ester C, and have gradually increased my dosage up to 5000 mgs a day. I will take 2 500 mg capsules upon waking, then with all three meals, then at bedtime. This amount works for me and I learned a lot about it from reading the works of Linus Pauling. I found that I was the one who didn't get all of the virus's and colds going around. I used to get sore throats all the time, no matter what the season, which sometimes led to wicked strept throat. No more. I'm sure this is because of the Ester C. I'm almost 51, and no one has guessed my age to be in my 40s yet. I keep my age to myself but not the benefits of vitamin C!"
[YEA] 02/13/2008: Brenda from Middletown, Ohio: "I use Vitamin E Oil or Emu Oil on my face, neck, and hands. Its wonderful as I have dry skin. I do not use soap of any kind on my face. I just turned 60 and one clerk thought I was her age(48). I get many compliments."
[YEA] 11/24/2007: Sandy from In the sticks, Nevada: "I want to thank Mimi from Corpus Christi, TX for her advice on using Vitamin E and cold water for beautiful skin. I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this remedy and I have only been doing it for about two weeks. I think my skin looks younger and my blemishes are down to almost nil. Putting the Vitamin E on is a bit of a pain, but I moisten my face with a little cold water and this seems to help. Please share any other remedies or beauty tips you might have Mimi! Thanks again."
[YEA] 10/04/2007: Mimi from Corpus Christi,TX: "Vitamin E oil has kept my face young. When I was about 12 my mom made me and my sister spread Vitamin E on our faces. We complained because it felt sticky and thick like honey, but she insisted that overnight our faces would absorb it and that we would thank her later when we were older. She also insisted that after a shower we rinse our faces and bodies with cold water. And to never let the shower water hit our faces but to splash rinse our faces with our hands and with cold water ALWAYS. Mother knows best. The next day our faces felt baby smooth. After that ever so often (about once or twice a month) I would open up Vitamin E capsules and spread the oil on my face before bed and sleep with it on my face overnight. People have always commented how clear and smooth my face is. I've had people also ask me what I use in my hair because it is ridiculously shiny (I think it's because of the cold water rinses) I'm also an avid red wine drinker (I have been since my early 20's). Ironically, recent studies have shown that a chemical called Resveratrol slows age related diseases. I am in my 40's and even though at the time I was 100lbs. overweight at a physical I had done, I was told that my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were superb. They also thought I was only 20 or 21 (and they only thought I was in my 20's because my vocabulary was what made me sound more mature/not to mention my youngest who was 8 at the time was with me otherwise they would've guessed my age even younger). Anytime people find out my age their jaws drop. When me and my husband go out I still get asked for my ID (even though I'm a couple of months older than my husband) My husband on the other hand is a beer drinker (not that I have anything against beer-I enjoy beer every once in a while, too) and a smoker and he's been mistaken for being in his 50's. He's also been offered the senior discount at places we've gone to eat. I'm convinced that a combination of both the Vitamin E and the coincidence that I happened to be a red wine drinker (Merlot) is what has kept my skin youthful. I've been doing the same for my daughter who has the loveliest face and people do the same all the time (ask what she uses on her face and hair to keep it so clear and smooth). I know that chances are we just have good genes (my mom and her sisters look very young, too) but then again my mom and her sisters have been doing the same thing for years, too; So, if you don't have a skin care regimen I highly recommend this one and pass it on."Replies
01/27/2012: Dee from Memphis, Tn replies: "Hi Mimi, I'm so curious as to what kind of Vitamin E oil you use. I went to the store today after reading your post but got confused over the many choices of vit e capsules. I ended up purchasing a gel cap with 400 iu vitamin e and the ingredients were dl-tocopheral acetate, gelatin, purified water usp and glycerin. Is this similar to what you use? I also saw gel caps and liquids with a base of soybean oil, wheatgerm oil, corn oil and even lemon oil. But I didn't really want the soybean oil on my skin.
What are the ingredients in the brand that you use and do you find much difference in the brands and the ingredients or do you just get what is available at the time?"
[YEA] Coty from Fortblackmore VA: "Vitamin A, which is found in carrots, Vitamin C found in apples and washing my skin with a mild antibacterial soap twice a day morning and night."
