[YEA] 07/30/2013: Samantha from New York, Ny: "Coconut oil up the nostrils (you can use a dropper) is amazing - it really, really clears up sinuses and is a must-try for anyone suffering with any sort of sinus congestion. MAKE SURE the coconut oil is liquified first, though! You can just put a teaspoon or so into a plastic cup & run hot water over it until you see it change to liquid form. You don't want to put it up your nose when it's solid - it could stuff things up!"Replies
[YEA] 08/12/2013: Jessica from Los Angeles,ca replies: "Yes!! Also try adding Extra Virgin Coconut Oil in a neti pot! Agreed that you should make sure the coconut oil is in liquid form before you put it up your nose! You can just put it into a plastic cup and run the cup under hot water before adding it to purified water and salt (and/or baking soda). It works wonders!"
[YEA] 09/26/2011: Kim from Calgary, Ab, Canada: "I was reading your blog on coconut oil because I had just purchased some and because I found out it was very health promoting. I was going to use it primarily for cooking.
I was currently on antibiotics for a possible sinus infection. I had sinus pain before but nothing like this my eye ached, cheek and forehead on my right side ached and after 5 days of antibiotics I was still suffering from pain... and on codeine and psudoephedrine for pain which only helped for about an our or so.
As I read the blog I noticed somebody posted of relief with sinus pain. I was desparate and I went and took 2 tbs. of the coconut oil. I kid you NOT the pain was completely gone in less than a 1/2 hour. I was in shock... it's been 5 hours now and NO PAIN!!!! I am a believer in coconut oil and will take it everyday of my life."
[YEA] 10/02/2008: Diana from Grain Valley, MO: "I began 5 days ago taking 3 Tbsp. of coconut oil by spoon (1 Tbsp. before each of my meals). I had recently had a sinus infection and had already finished my round of antibiotics, but was still having a lot of drainage I could feel down the back of my throat.
Last night, not feeling well, I went to bed early. I woke about 2 hours later and sniffed/coughed up a whole lot of very thick mucus several times. I immediately felt SO much better and the drainage down the back of my throat was gone. I have read several things through various websites of what coconut oil is good for and am anxious to see how it effects me through future use."
[YEA] 11/27/2009: Ladster from Bel Air, Md replies: "Just swallowing 1 tsp of virgin coconut oil daily seems to have cleared my sinuses better than anything else (and believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING else out there for the last 5 years). I needed to take 2-6 capsules of Olive Leaf Extract daily just to fight off constant sinus infections. Now I breathe so much easier and can resist colds better too. I would have never believed it if I didn't try it for myself. I am also now trying a little directly in the nostrils too."
Cod Liver Oil
[YEA] Sue from Chesapeake: "Take one Cod Liver Oil softgel everyday. I have been doing this since September 1998 and have only had one sinus infection since then. I use to get one every spring and one every fall. This works for me."
[YEA] 07/02/2013: Molly from Ny, Usa: "I use Colloidal Silver with liquid Chlorophyll drops, and a pinch of salt in my Neti pot. Cured my last acute sinus infection in 3 days! Usually takes weeks to a month with antibiotics, followed by digestion issues. This stuff is great when stuffy with light sensitivity if I haven't caught it in time."
[YEA] 05/18/2013: Dave from Fountain Inn, Sc: "Concerning persistent sinus infections, all the posts above are enlightening and helpful. But if all else fails by all means don't forget to try colloidal silver. Over many years of fighting sinus problems I know this; when allergies strike and I'm getting stuffy, either a virus/fungus/bacteria is at work or the stuffiness will lead to an infection in short order. I get out my trusty colloidal silver (I make my own) and squirt some into both sinus cavities. One side will usually sting a bit. And poof. Stuffyness gone. Maybe one more application to both sinuses. Caught early enough I can knock out 90 percent of all infections immediately. The other 10 percent I have to keep re applying the colloidal silver over a day or two before being completely eliminated. I went from having four or five bad colds/broncial infections a year to none."
01/30/2013: J D from La Canada, California: "I came across your website and thought I would get some advice on how to use colloidal silver for a sinus problem.
Eight weeks ago, somehow a sinus pressure behind the eyes, forehead, radiating to the temples began. It seemed kind of sudden, like 1 hour I was normal, and then wham this sinus problem landed in my head.
I have seen my regular physician, took two rounds of some powerful antibiotics, nasal steroids. And no help. She sent me to the ENT, who prescribed be an oral steroid (prednisone) which did not work (only caused me anxiety and depression). I received my results back from the CT scan and they came back pretty much clear. No blockages, no major mucous, no signs of infection. He said I don't have chronic sinusitis.
But the sinus pressure is still there, heavy headed behind the eyes, fatigue, ears full/plugged and I move my jaw around to try to relieve the pressure. I only have sinus mucus (sometimes yellow, sometimes green) in the mornings. Could the CT have missed an infection. I mean I saw with my own eyes, no fluid or blockages????
I read a lot about colloidal silver and purchased a nasal spray. I did about 5 sprays in each nostril this morning and put some in each ear and let sit for 5 minutes. But now I feel more congested in the head, behind the eyes, fatigue, as though as it has back fired on me. Did I do something wrong? is this common or are the results immediate? Should I continue to use the spray in the nostrils. ( the same thing happens when I use neti pot, or a saline nasal spray)
Also, for the past 1.5 weeks I have been on pretty much no carbs, all health greens, cooked and consumed properly.
Any advice on your techniques would be much appreciated, I feel horrible."Replies
01/30/2013: Ed2010 from Oakville, Canada replies: "Try this Honey and Onion remedy, it will work: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/chronic_sinusitis2.html#HO_89227"
[YEA] 10/04/2012: Dave from Charlotte, Nc: "If other remedies should fail, consider colloidal silver. My sinus congestion usually is due to infection and silver solution is easy to try. I put it in the palm of my hand, maybe a tablespoon full and sniff up sinus on both sides. Sometimes it sings more on one side. I re apply ten minutes later and more as needed if infection is persistent. I am prone to infections and this remedy has worked for me for over ten years."
[YEA] 04/28/2010: Ally from Benicia, Ca: "I have tried several remedies over the past year, the apple cider vinegar cure and also the Grapefruit Seed Extract for my sinus infections. It absolutely does not work! I just got some colloidal silver spray from the local health food store and in less than one hour I am having relief. I would suggest looking into the very long history of colloidal silver - it also cured a respirtory infection of my husband. Thank you."Replies
[YEA] 04/08/2012: Southernarc from Durham, Nc, Usa replies: "The combination of colloidal silver and oil of oregano has done wonders for not only curing sinus infections but also preventing them. At the onset of the infection, where the mucus first starts turning green (indicating infection) I'll not only ingest the liquid colloidal siver (as silver protein, 3ppm) that I get from my local healthfood store, but I'll also put a few drops up my nose while lying on the bed with my head back. For extra measure, I take oil of oregano caps. I have wiped out sinus infections within just days of this treatment."
04/09/2012: Lisa from Jacksonville replies: "Silver and oregano work great for me also. I would not use a silver protein though, as they contain salt or other additives that can contribute to argyria (turning blue). Mesosilver is the best I have found so far. Look at the testing on the website - type in Silver Colloid."
[YEA] 03/17/2008: Jonathan from Orlando, FL: "I have terrible sinus infections every year... I usually just beg for antibiotics because the pain is horrible, and I am a pilot and can't afford much time off. I went to the local health food store and was rummaging throught he shelves and came across this sinus remedy...it is a nasal inhalant of elemental silver and some other stuff. Used it per instructions every 15 minutes it didn't seem to work for about 6 hours, then over the next 2 days I got better and better. Doc explained that silver was a germicidal agent that kills the bad bacteria, while body does the rest... interesting and would recommend to anyone, I have horrible sinuses and this stuff worked faster than antibiotics about 2-3 days total then keep sniffing it for about 1.5 weeks.. stop to soon and it comes back"Replies
[YEA] 04/26/2009: Albellha from Stonewall, MS replies: "I bought a bottle of a well known nasal spray, poured all the medicine out, washed the bottle and refilled it with colloidal silver, 4 or 5 grains of salt, and a little water. To use lay on bed, lean head off side, squirt into one nostril, holding the other side of your nose inhale as much as you can. Then do the other side.
It will make your nose dry up and if you feel it burning, you know you had an infection and it is busy killing the germs.
Repeat as often as necessary.
You can take this to the office with you, use as if a regular nasal spray. It will still work. The laying off the bed it to get it into sinuses above your eyes."
[YEA] Jim from Klamath Falls: "I have long used ACV for various cures. However, I have also used colloidal silver [which I make myself] or some may call it "ionic silver" in a nasal spay. Several applications of this remedy has always been effective for me in quelling sinus infection."
Colloidal Silver, Ascorbic Acid, Black Elderberry Syrup
[YEA] 12/08/2012: Linda from Blue River, Wi: "i had sinus infections that would last months & went thru month long treatments from the doctors with antibiotics, to no avail. I thought I was resigned to live with it the rest of my life.... My brother in law gave me a bottle of angstrom silver 600ppm (angstrom is like collidal, but smaller particles, with no fillers, etc. ), and a bottle of ascorbic acid & a bottle of black elderberry syrup. I treated myself with a spoonful of each, several times a day, for 2 days & by the 3rd day, I could breathe & quit coughing. Have been sinusitus free since. Now I just take a shot or two a day of the silver & feeling fine. Thanks brett!!"
Cream of Tartar
[YEA] 11/28/2008: Ricardo from Danbury, CT: "Candida Cleanse, Cream of Tartar Pro-biotic and organic sea salt.
Hi, I've been suffering with chronic sinus infections for about 4 years. Went to doctors several times, had an operation inside my nose and nothing worked. I am extremely mad a conventional medicine that uses drugs and surgery as treatment. Conventional medicine and drug companies should go down as they do more damage to the population than the diseases itself. After I got the operation, my life became a living hell. I lived my life around the sinus problems I had. I lost so many good things in live that I can't even count. I finally decided to take my health in my own hands and I will never go to a conventional doctor anymore, unless it if is a real emergency, in an ER of a hospital because one can't never say never, now I am my own doctor and I don't take drugs anymore. Why take drugs if they only purpose is to make money, IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY. The antibiotics destroyed my life completely. I gave tons of money to the drug companies on the course of this problem, I bought so many nasal decongestant and over the counter decongestants that if I have my money back I would probably be rich by now.
I had relieved that came when I understood that most chronic sinus infections are fungal and not bacterial or viral. I started with the Threelac therapy, helped but, they don't tell you on the websites that you need to do a Candida diet for at list one month (very hard to do), then they send you a paper inside that tells you that you must do the diet, but I tried anyway, without the diet, it did not help. Then I did the Candida diet for 45 days, I felt fantastic, but all ended few weeks later, then I did colloidal silver maximum strength 10,000 PPM (parts per million) for 45 days, I felt fantastic again, but few weeks later the problem started again; this time I added Pro-biotic, PB8 14 million and used a water pump (the ones used for cleaning teeth) device with an end of rubber for nose use. I bought Organic sea salt and put two table spoons in 30 oz of distilled water, tilt my head about 45 degrees on top the sink and started the machine, all of the sudden there was a strong burning sensation,in my nose started some really loud noises inside and the discharge went on for about three days, I had to breed thorough the mouth for hours and when I got tired I used the decongestant to catch my breath a little, about few hours. My eyes burned too, to control this problem I used lots of cold water on my eyes and blinked. I did the same for several days and now I am nasal decongestant independent for about a week, and that is the first time in about 4 years. The real action was actually happened when I found the testimony of a lady on EARTH CLINIC ABOUT CREAM OF TARTAR. I went to the health store here in town and bought 10 spoons of the product for 9 bucks; the first time I drank one tea spoon of the product in a 4oz glass of water, I felt really strong reactions in my body. I was in and out the bathroom for two days, and was eliminating Candida like crazy. I check my ph the next morning, just before breakfast or brush my teeth, and it was a fantastic 7.5 ph, I am usually 6.0 ph, which is acid.
I credit my cure to these five things together, 1) cream of tartar, 2) nasal pump 3) organic sea salt 4) pro-biotic and 5) Earth clinic, thank you.
[YEA] 10/05/2007: Michelle from Roseville, CA: "I had a raging infection in one of my top molar teeth. Around the same time I got the worst sinus infection I have EVER had. The pain in my tooth went away, so I didn't get it checked out. For the next year, every time I got sick, even a minor cold, I got this same major sinus infection. Finally after the year was up, I consulted a nutrionist about the causes of sinus infections. The first thing she mensioned was a bad tooth. I had forgotten about the tooth infection I had. Thank God, that same week, the tooth pain returned. I was determined to rid myself of thesr horrible sinus infections, so I went to the dentist and got my tooth pulled. That sinus infection lingered and lingered even after I got the tooth pulled, but that was the last one I ever had, and it has been almost a year now! I am so grateful something FINALLY worked for GOOD!!!"Replies
01/21/2012: Bill from Winston Salem, Nc replies: "I remember having a sinis infection and toothache at the same time. My tooth was killing me I told the denist to pull that sucker. He said wait let's do an x ray. What happened was my tooth's root went through my sinus canal and with a sinus infection that's the reason my tooth was killing me. Thank God I had a good dentist because it was one of my lower jaw teeth which I used a lot chewing my food. I got rid of my sinus infection and bam no toothache.
The best thing I ever did to stop my sinus infections and a lot of other problems was when I bought a machine called IONCLEANSE. Living on a horse farm for over 50 years my body was full of toxins. That machine is a God send. It detoxed my body and along with it all my health and pain problems. I even had asthma and after about 10 treatments I have never had asthma agian and no more sinus problems either. It's been over 4 years problem free."
11/07/2012: Brooke from Farmington, Ct replies: "Hi, Was it the ION CLEANSE foot detox? I have TMJ and my left side got stuck and now my left nostril wont stop dripping a pale to bright yellow. HELP!"
[YEA] 08/08/2007: Jeff from Boca Raton, FL: "Five years ago my right cheek puffed out and it was diagnosed as a salivary gland infection. That cleared up but then I had jaw pain which I thought was from tooth decay under a loose crown. Fixing that didn't help and I saw several dentists and doctors trying to find out the problem. Eventually I gave up and lived with the pain.
Two weeks ago my cheek blew up badly and eventually a salivary stone 1/8" by 5/16" came out of the duct. I thought the problem was solved but the swelling persisted. It got so bad that the pain eventually drove me to a doctor. He found another stone was in the duct, about 1/8" by 1/8". The larger stone had a point on it which I was able to grab with tweezers and pull out but this one doesn't and I'm still working on it. But I'm able to push it aside and let the gland drain. Although it fills back up, when drained I was amazed to find my hearing improved and my sinus on that side drained and I could breathe freely.
I had always thought there was a reason for the initial swelling but when I mentioned that I read about salivary stones on the internet and asked an oral surgeon if that could be the problem, he actually got mad and said things like "everyone thinks they're an expert because they read it on the internet". I had asked nicely and couldn't believe his response. I had been miserable for weeks and felt like throwing a punch in his direction but I just left the office. My guess is that he lost a bundle when net stocks crashed.
I wanted to leave this message to show how a seemingly unrelated problem can cause sinus and hearing symptoms... I think an infection has been dragging me down for years and although it's not over yet I feel better than I have for a long time since I've gotten most of the infection out. So check for hard lumps in the gland, from what I've read these stones are more common than most believe."Replies
12/19/2008: Johanna from Elmhurst, IL replies: "My cheeks frequently get puffy right where I can push the sinus area and it feels kind of like a pillow. I have allergies and asthma and can't see to get rid of this ailment. I figured out it was sinus related and it I have had antibiotics and all types of sinus treatments. These have not worked. The swelling changes my whole face and I don't even look normal. Does someone have an idea what I can do? Is this the problem you had?"
