[YEA] Kala from Springfield , Il United States writes: "There are tons of remedies I for one currently have it... I have been studying the body for 5 years. This is horrible. Most common places to get ringworm a NEW animal... Cats, Rabbits, Puppies, Horses. Other places such as a public restroom with still water, dirty swimming pool, let's not forget a locker room. Ringworm is a tenia most common tinea is tinea pedis (athletes feet) if you have a new animal take them to your trusted vet just because you don't see it does not mean they do not have it. I bleached the entire house, got the medicine Ketoconazole it is in a tablet and a cream in the anti-parasite family (ringworm is a skin parasite), Hydroxyz for itching! The Itch Stopped There!! Get if in your case it's from an animal a LiME dip treatment bottle! DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON PRESCRIPTION PET MEDS!!!! Dip the pet use the cream and pills in just 2 days the infection starts to disappear! The meds are good ESP. If you are one allergic to a lot of medication this only side effect is drowsiness. And the line dip wear gloves, don't wear rings!!! I know this may be long but trust me more details the better.. Ifffff you are using at home remedies do NOT USE THE SAME FINGER TWICE ON DIFFERENT RINGS THAT HELPS THE INFECTION TO SPREAD!!!! USE DIFFERENT FINGERS THEN WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY!!!! I hope this helps!!!! Oh and lastly WASH BED CLOTHES IN HOOOOOT WATER!!!!

[YEA] Amanda from Kingman, Az writes: "I know alot of you r "healthy" idk how you'll feel about this but "Tide" brand laundry soap is what works! Bath in it, in warmish water for like 15 min. My mom treated me this way I treated my daughter and it's gone! My son has spot on his thigh so I put ACV and iodine on him to @ least slow the growth till I can get some Tide. Good luck, it works!

It has to be Tide brand. The infection did not transfer from my daughter to my son, it has been like 1 yrs since my daughters infection.

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Stephanie from Richmond, Va writes: "I had a spot of ringworm on my inner thigh in the groin area that I treated with CVS brand lamisil for a month. It went away and came back. I kept applying the cream twice a day for two months or more, and it never went away. Then I saw another spot on my left leg. When I switched to another cream, it got angry and more red and larger. Then I got desperate, imagining this nasty stuff spreading like wildfire.

I have been using absorbine Jr. four times a day for almost 2 weeks now. There was a lot of flaking and scaling within the first week, and the burning was fierce on the raw areas. But now on day 12, things are looking 70% better. I hope with another week of treatment it should be gone. In researching ringworm, I am making sure to cover it lightly with bandages so it can breathe but not spread. Also, I am only wearing pants one day and washing all of my bottoms separately from tops etc with Borax and clorox for colors, along with my regular detergent so this stuff doesn't infect me elsewhere. Yuck.

[YEA] E. Morgan from Spokane, Washington, USA writes: "I noticed I had a red circle on my outer thigh but just thought it was dry skin, until about 2 weeks later when I researched it and found out it was ringworm. I don't know how I got it, but I bought some Lotrimin to put on twice a day (It's hard to wear jeans with it on because it will rub off, so I have to wear pajamas so the ringworm can breathe). I also have been putting on Melaleuca's tea tree oil on it as well (2-3 times a day). It's been one full week and the ringworm is already looking much lighter. I figure about a week or two more and it will be all the way gone, but the Lotrimin says to keep using it for 4 weeks.

[YEA] Lynn from Ann Arbor, Michigan writes: "My son has had recurring ringworm in a couple spots (thigh and forearm). It always seems to flare up in the fall and get better when he can get sun on it (which is nearly impossible in a Michigan winter). We decided to try a reptile light bulb available at a pet store (it has UVA and heat). We put the bulb in a small lamp fixture and he held his arm above it for 10-15 minutes a day and it worked like a charm. He was also using the Absorbine for the week or so prior to this, and that helped somewhat, but the reptile light really made a difference. The skin was clear after 5 or 6 days.

Lisa from London, Enfield, Uk writes: "Hello, Please could you help me, my son is 8 years old and has scalp ringworm, he has scales or crusty lumps on his head he doesn't really scratch but his scalp is very dry. If he picks at these lumps they are often red or bleed, he also has some small hair lost where these lumps were. My GP has given him creams, shampoo called ketopine and medication which calmed it down and the lump are not so big now but it is still there. I do not want to keep using steroid creams to clear this up as he has had this for quite a few months now. Any suggestion would be very grateful.

Laurie from Daejeon, South Korea writes: "I got ringworm from my cat, and I've gone through at least 2-3 cycles of infection now over a period of 2 months. I tried anti-fungal creams. Since it's in Korean and my doctor has limited English, I wasn't sure what the active ingredients were. But I tried 2-3 different types of creams and none helped, one even made it much worse. I even desperately tried bleach... Very bad idea. Wounds festered. I tried apple cider vinegar-much the same as the bleach.

What works: Use bar soap, lather well so that a thick white foam appears over all ringworm spots, let air dry for about 10-20 minutes, gently rinse. Repeat at least 2x/day. I'm doing this plus taking anti-fungal pills once a week. I've ordered Absorbine Jr. at the recommendation of this site. I intend to apply that as well, but it is not available in Korea and I've had to order it online.

Dolores from Roseburg, Oregon writes: "Ringworm is a fungus from hell. I first noticed what I thought was a bruise on my left hip area. Hmm, Few days later, I saw the horror and knew before going to doctor but wanted absolute confirmation and some antifungal. He put me on clotrimazone1%. Said should be gone in about 2-3 weeks. After three weeks, nothing other than seeing more red spots showing up. I kept using the clotrimazone but tried, ACV, Teatree oil, neem, oregano essential oils, mixed. No change after a week.

On 4th week and nothing has died out that I can tell. Tried Absorbine Jr and then today TKO, an orange oil cleaner. I'm desperate and afraid to have to go on prescription meds. I just bought some Terbinefine Hydrochloride 1% as someone suggested on a site. If this doesn't work, I will try the DMSO and Tannic acid if I can find it. There are some 3-day guaranteed products I've seen but expensive and I don't have that much faith because you have to use just as they say and with other products or they won't guarantee. I've read a lot about fungus, never had Candida in my life and now I'm battling this horror and am so health conscious.

It was likely the one time I had to use a public toilet with no protection. Was an emergency and I can't sit down to do... You know but can stand for the other. I have to be fanatic about changing clothes and don't want friends over unless I know clorox has been used on my toilet and I have to cover furniture with a special cloth to protect any contamination as this stuff is highly contagious. I could say where it came from on Public toilet but I won't. I'm so angry and wonder now if I will ever find a cure and if I can control the infection around my buttocks without it spreading onto more areas. OH BOY!!!!

Julio from Dallas, Tx, Usa writes: "Hi, About a year ago ringworm started on my face's left side cheek. It started as a little itchy thing which I scratched n didn't know what it was. I thought it would go away soon but it didn't instead it started to spread. I went to see the dorctor which prescribed me some cream to apply n a pink pill to take once a week. But the only thing it helped with was the itching. I went back n this time they prescribed me lasimil pills. Which I only was authorized to take for two weeks. Then I bought lamisil cream but none of that helped. The ringworm is visible now.

It wasn't till two days ago that I found this site and saw that apple cider vinegar can help. I been applying it for three days now but I'm not sure if it has helped or if it's going to help me. I scratched it hard till it bled and then applied it. It burnt and now it looks like a wound. I don't wanna repeat the proccess because I don't want an ugly scar in my face but I do wanna get rid of that sht. It's embarrasing. What should I do?? Should I just apply it gentle now since I already made it bleed once?? I'll be waiting for your replies. thank you.

Bvshah from Mumbai, India writes: "Hi, I am suffering from ringworm since past four months. Hate taken couple of antibiotic creams and medicine but no effect. One doctor gave me steroids and it worsened the case and now no medicines are suiting my skin. The infection is growing and from both the thigh and groain area now it has come on my hand as well. I was thinking of using ACV. Can anyone tell me as to how to use ACV for ringworm? I applied white vinegar yesterday on one of the lesions and itching went away but entire thing is inflamed and turned red. So is it safe to use ACV or this is how skin reacts once ACV is applied? How do I know whether ACV is suiting me or reacting adversely?

Thanks, Miss Shah

I have been taking courses of medication for almost 3 months and sadly it has barely budged. In my frustration I came across this site and decided to give the ACV a go as well as coconut oil. When I applied the ACV it didn't burn at all, although by now I have learnt to get used to the itching so I haven't opened the wound and try not to touch it.
[YEA] Bevsol4 from Abbeville, La writes: "I recently had ringworm for the first time in my life. Still uncertain of where it came from. I began putting some antifungal cream from the pharmacy and using a scrub upon finding it. Three days later, I saw the doctor at the walk-in clinic and he was sure that one of them were ringworm but uncertain of the others. I began with the prescription cream and the antibiotics. It began to get better quickly.

Unfortunately, I had to do some outside work (in Louisiana) and it became inflamed. I called the doctor a second time, he said to continue the antibiotic but added the prednizone. The Prednizone is what REALLY helped. That and WASHING the area EACH time before apply the cream. Around the same time I worked outside, I did try the Apple Cider Vinegar.... Which irritated it... As well as a spray... My true advise if you want it to go away quickly.... Stick with the doctor!

[YEA] Stella from Provience, Ri writes: "I have had a ringworm infection for about 4 months. I had big patches on either side of my waist and arm. I have used Absobine solution, Gris-peg as prescribed by a medical doctor (this made it worse) the Absobine solution was very painful the itch was relieved temporarily(I wouldn't advice this one because it just hurts for nothing). I even tried the antifungal cream which made it even worse. It looks like the strain I had was a very persist one so I decided to use bleach(straight) out of desperation! It was very painful! (I wouldn't advice you to use it this way either) the itch stopped and I stopped using it after a day or two. The itch and the ringworm patches ressurected with a vegence so I decided a different approach that has given me the best results which you can take to the bank!

I decided to dilute the bleach and it worked beautifully for me. I decided to take a disposable cup(medium) almost filled and put close to 2-3 Table spoons of bleach and used a wash cloth to apply and rub on the affected area. The itch was controlled and the ring worm dried out and the rough skin has been restored to smooth skin. I have been applying Vitamin E oil or cocnut oil or any kind of oil to keep the dry skin from itching after a series of application. I have also been using a brush to brush the area to help the skin heal faster by increasing circulation and it is very smooth and the scars are almost gone. Thanks to this Website and persistance. I have used the diluted bleach treatment like twice-three times a day for and two-3weeks and I can say I'm almost over this frightening attack. Hope you find this helpful. I can sleep with not problem of the annoying itch again! Thanks be to God! "

[YEA] Angelina from Moncton, N.b., Canada writes: "I was never officially diagnosed by a doctor with ringworm but I deduced on my own from checking my symptoms online and with friends. I had red itchy rounds blotches on my chest and arms. At first I used ACV and tea tree oil. That stableized things and kept it from spreading but it didn't seem to clear it up. Finally it was suggested to me to scrub with borax and a clean face cloth. Apparently the fungus likes to live underneath dry skin, and so scrubbing away the dead skin would take away the fungus' shelter. I saw results in a day and was so relieved. I continued this for a good few weeks although it was pretty much gone in a week. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't return. Borax is mild anyway. Always make sure the cloth you are using is clean to prevent putting the fungus back on your skin.

I tried everything acv, the prescript meds, polish, creams, bleach you name it. I got a natural cures book from a whole foods store and voila she is cured after two years of this nightmare! First you need black tar shampoo wash every night. Then 100% pure tea tree oil after you wash the hair use a q-tip with a little water on it rub into scalp gently. Last but not least organic sulfur sold in pellet form in blue tube about five tiny pellets per dose and it does'nt taste bad. Kind of like sugar water so my daughter actually did not mind it, gris-peg and others are gross tasting. I did this every day till the pellets ran out and amen she no longer has bald spots her hair is growing back! She can go to the hairdressers!!! No more itching!!!! She has been ring worm free for a year now...

PS change pillow case every night. Do not share combs or shampoo, brush during the process. Do not want to contaminate others. It's a lot to do but it is so worth it cuz ringworm in the scalp is hard to get rid of... Good luck!

[YEA] Sid Davis from Springfield, Missouri, Usa writes: "My wife had ringworm under her chin for about two months. She tried Calamine lotion for about a month and 1/2 because she thought she had brushed against some poison ivy, not realizing it was ringworm. When she realized it was ringworm, she painted it twice daily for a week with lugol's solution (5% iodine) and it started to noticeably clear. Then I read about clear nail polish, and she quit the iodine and applied nail polish twice daily for two days, and now it is gone. Looks like the nail polish worked the best."
