[YEA]  02/05/2008: Doris from Murfreesboro, TN writes: "his past Sunday around 8:00 a.m. I found an ugly, red rash on the upper part of my left leg. It was the size of a half-dollar. I had already decided to start taking a mixture of molasses, acv, and baking soda for my arthritis. I started that morning at 9:00 a.m. with about 1 tsp. molasses, 1 tbs. acv, and a pinch of baking soda in a glass of warm water. At 10:00 a.m. my husband gave me an anti-fungal creme for my rash. But, to my surprise the ugly, scaly rash was gone. The only thing I did in that two hour period was drink the molasses, acv, and b. soda. I can't believe it. I will continue to use this "tonic" for my arthritis and see what happens with that. I love this website and learn something new everyday."

[YEA]  11/18/2008: Carol from Albemarle, NC writes: "My husband was working outside this past summer in high grass and weeds. Late in the afternoon, he broke out with little bumps all around his ankle and lower leg. The bumps were red and itched intensely. My guess would be chigger bites but we don't know. I searched the internet and saw a suggestion for Butt Paste - you can buy it at most pharmacies - it is intended for diaper rash. If I remember correctly, it was mostly zinc oxide and very pasty but my husband said it worked "miracles". The bites completely stopped itching and cleared up in a couple of days. It is pretty cheap and worth a try. Spread the paste over the bite until it is covered."

CASTOR OIL, HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

05/16/2011: Kathie from Houston, United States writes: "I got a rash on my face after eating three grilled cheese sandwiches... What can I say, but I am gluten intolerant and when I cheat, I cheat big! The rash started on my right check (it looked like rosacea - red, bumpy and crusty) and it spread to my forehead, the left side of my nose and around both eyes. I disolved borax in peroxide and put that on my face. It worked everywhere except around my eyes (I did not use as much there because I did not want to use it so close to the eye and it was very drying). I followed up with castor oil around my eyes and in just one day I have seen a huge improvement! I have read here that many like castor oil to take care of there facial skin. I am tempted to use it as well. My question is, isn't castor oil a mineral oil and we should not use mineral oils on our skin? I thought that we are only suppose to use vegetable type oils on our skin.... I WOULD LOVE SOME FEEDBACK!"

05/18/2011: Aj from Sacramento, Ca replies: "I'm not sure about the castor oil, but I've used it on my skin for a month now with no problems.

An ounce of prevention... I'm gluten intollerant as well, and I just can't live life without a little bread. Great thing is, lately I havn't had to. There is this one kind at most stores (here in California) called Udi's, first time I've had gluten-free bread that tasted normal, not like a bad cracker.

It's 5 dollars a loaf, but it's worth it to me not to feel like crap the next day. If you don't have it, maybe it has some online ordering or something."

05/19/2011: Kathie from Houston, United States replies: "Thanks Aj,

I gave up trying to find a good tasting GF bread. I will give Udi's a try. Are you using the castor oil for an issue or just part of your skin regime?"

05/31/2011: Joy from Seattle, Wa replies: "There is no such thing as a decent gluten-free bread out on the market these days, I have tried them all. Ended up making my own, which comes out really nice and is cheaper than the $5 a loaf you pay for the others, which are all so sweet they taste like cake. Experiment with various recipes, you will find success."
07/19/2011: Happy from Pow, Ak replies: "Castor oil is from the castor bean so is not a mineral oil."
09/02/2011: Angel from Palmerston North, New Zealand replies: "I don't know about castor oil on the skin, but I did a bit of research about what I could use on my face and body( I'm pregnant and don't like to use un-natural chemical filled creams etc), and ended up purchasing organic jojoba oil. It contains natural collagen which is almost identical to that which our bodies produce, doesn't clog pours, is great for all skin types, can improve acne, great for wrinkles, is light and easily absorbed. On top of this, it is also great for the hair, helps resolve dandruff, and can be used to prevent/ treat stretch marks. All of this in the one oil sounded great to me, so I bought it and have been using it for 2 weeks, I love it. Apparently it has been used for hundreds of years as a wound/ skin healer."
12/06/2011: Kathie from Houston, Tx replies: "Angel from Palmerston North, New Zealand, I agree with you!!! I used jojoba oil on my belly while I was pregnant and I did not get a single stretch mark! I wish I had used it on my breasts!!!"

[YEA]  02/09/2007: Sandhya from Makawao, HI writes: "LIQUID CHLOROPHYLL has helped me drink more water, stop body odor and stop a rash on my bottom. One or two teaspoons a day in drinking water sipping on it or drinking it all at once does wonders. If I stop I notice the difference in a couple of days. NOW brand with mint is good. Once I asked a doctor what to do about the rash as I had never had one. She said she had a rash too and did not know...it came with living in the tropics. I understood Ted from Bangkok saying that the body's ability to oxygenate itself was suppressed and this was a cause. Living in Hawaii I sweat more than other colder places I have lived and bacteria grows easily here on the skin. Also I do not have a spleen which makes my blood not as clean if I do not take something to clean it or oxygenate it. I tend to be acidic by nature and the foods I eat lean in that direction even though most would say I am health food person. I am going to try molybdenum that Ted speaks of so highly."

[YEA]  06/05/2008: Alisa from Dublin, Ireland writes: "My 3 week old baby has suffered terribly with nappy rash and most things I've tried have only irritated it as they are too harsh for his sensitive skin. However I tried, only as of last night, Coconut Oil, and after only 3 applications his rash has all but disappeared! This is great stuff and I am delighted. I presume then that my little boy had thrush (Candida) perhaps on his poor tush?! Anyway, I will continue to use this as it works so well, smells gorgeous and is also a fabulous body moisturiser! I hope this helps someone out there. Good luck."

06/05/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "If you are/were using baby wipes, have you considered that the rash on your little fellow's tush might be from the chemicals in the wipes? If it continues, I always loved the healing of A & D ointment, also I would stop the wipes, using only a clean wet wash cloth instead of wipes and see if it stops the rash from returning!"

[YEA]  01/29/2008: Margaret from Dallas, TX writes: "I have been using Extra Virgin Coconut Oil since 2005. It has helped me in so many ways. My immune system was a mess and I had a rash all over my body from Candida. I happened upon VCO in a book I read and decided to give it a try. I started eating it by melting a tablespoon and adding it to my yogurt. It would harden back up but it was crunchy and made the plain yogurt taste great. After a few months of eating it that way I decided to use it in a smoothie instead. The smoothie consists of two cups of yogurt (one plain and one fruit) along with a banana, one tablespoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of flaxseed oil. I don't have the rash any longer. When I occasionally get a dry spot from Eczema -- (which is completely under control now) I rub a little in and it's gone within a few days. My skin and hair look great!! My friends always comment how soft my skin feels. I don't suffer from Candida any longer. Another benefit I believe that came from eating the above smoothie was that I had cryptic tonsilitis. It healed up shortly after I started eating the VCO. I will say I haven't lost weight by using VCO but I noticed I do feel full longer. Also, a big plus is I no longer have IBS either!! I really think it helps with wrinkles as well and noticed when I was in Hawaii that I didn't burn like I usually do. VCO is always going to remain a part of my diet!! Thanks for your website too! I love to read all the different remedies."

To make a long story short...I tried the coconut oil last night and woke up and found that my legs are much better. [YEA]  12/03/2007: Dave from Tokyo, Japan writes: "I had a rash on my chest and i was getting redder and more itichy every day. It was also creaping and aboutt to go on my face. I was about to go to the doctors--something I only do when really desperate. So, being a fan of cayenne pepper and coconut oil, I mised them on and applied to just part of my chest. Within two days and with two applications, the rash was gone only where I had put the mixture. Has anyone tried putting these two things together?"

[YEA]  09/23/2009: Believer from Boston, Ma Usa replies: "Dave~ I've had a rash on my leg for about a month; about 4x7 inches. It literally appeared overnight was very itchy. I tried ACV and also tried Coconut oil with no luck. I finally went to the Doctor and he prescribed "nystatin - Triamcinolone Acetonide" ointment. That was two weeks ago and I just renewed the prescription. The itching is considerably better but the rash is still very red and ugly. I'm going on a cruise next week and I'd given up all hope of being able to wear shorts. Perhaps out of desperation, I tried your cayene pepper and coconut oil paste last night. I applied it to the rash and put a large gauze pad loosley over it. When I woke this morning, there is absolutely no itchng and the rash is about 50% GONE. I'll try another application today. THANK YOU"
[YEA]  11/24/2010: Lori from Broussard, La, Usa replies: "Wow. This is great stuff. I had an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide. I had used this as a treatment on my face (my entire face) for a couple of days, then broke out into a dry, itchy, red, swollen, hot, bumpy rash. My 1st thought was benadryl & aloe & moisturizer, but they didn't help much.

I came across this post & finally decided to give it a shot (rather than go to a Dr.& have him give me a cortisone shot or some type of meds with possible side effects. I had ACV at home already, so I decided to use that too after I bought the CO & Cayenne. I washed my face with a bar of 'H20plus' soap then blotted on ACV (burned like.... ), then used a mixture of CO & Cayenne on my entire face (putting plain CO around & over my eyes). I woke up this morning & the rash is 75% gone! (1nite, 1application! ) It even cleared up the acne that I was trying to get rid of with the Benzoyl Peroxide. I am amazed. This really works... & fast too!"

[YEA]  02/04/2008: Gabi from TORONTO, CANADA writes: "Hi. I didn't try turmeric when I was in boils. I use Colloidal Silver Water. Apply a drop or two on top of boil (acne too!). After 1-2 hr it stops hurting, stops "growing". Up to 3 days it subsides to red spot. You can use small hair spry bottle (with very fine mist like spry). If you have acne or boils more then one and you expect more to show up spray it on your skin just once and let it dry. Nothing will break out! I suffered for almost 30 years from something what doctor called "diaper rush" (!). The pic of my "diaper rush" was always during summer months. After using once single spray of Colloidal Silver Water I am free of this skin condition. I will get 1 tiny pimple time to time but who hasn't have it during hot summer days?"

I convinced him to try my paste, let it dry, then wash it off. Not only did the cyst go away fast, but has not returned! I have used Goldenseal Root to 'draw' infection out of cuts, sores, etc., and even cure athletes foot. You only need a small amount of the powder and a tiny amount of water. Stir into a paste quickly and spread it on the affected area. Let it dry. Rinse off. You have to be quick as it begins to work as soon as water hits it. Be careful, a tiny amount of water goes a long way! My mom had a rash on the back of her hand - all the prescription creams made it go away but as soon as she stopped using, the rash would reappear. Used the Goldenseal Root past method on the rash. It went away in 2 days and never returned."

JOYCE'S REMEDIES

02/10/2010: Joyce from Joelton, Tn writes: "For all who are troubled with those dratted rashes - I can tell you that when faced with a patient with a rash of prolonged duration - how well I can remember what I thought when first viewing it "Oh how I wish I could have seen this before all the scratching and applying all the stuff that probably made it worse" because that does make trying to determine the cause more difficult.

For all of you who have a rash and wondering why: First ask yourself what have you been in contact with that may have caused it? This can be anything to bath soap, lotions, sun screens, cosmetics, plants such as poison ivy/oak/sumac. Where is it located? On areas that made contact with some specific substance or plant? Is it itching? Raised? flat? When in doubt as to what caused it, especially if it is generalized or all over - try the simplest thing first that doesn't add something else that might make it worse.

My simple solution to any unidentifiable rash is to put 2 or more cups of apple cider vinegar in a tub of warm bath water and using a l00% cotton wash cloth (no soaps, oils, lotions, etc.) take a relaxed leisurely bath. This removes all soaps or other things from the skin that might have caused it, it also helps to soothe itching, it restores the protective acid mantle that our skins are supposed to have. Something as simple as this can sometimes stop the problem & can be repeated several times per day if necessary.

If you are one of the unfortunate allergic people, you are probably very aware that rashes can be triggered by anything you are allergic to, including foods/drinks/medicines as well as direct contact to your skin. If you are in this category, you probably already have benadryl (diphenhydramine) or other antihistamine on hand for those occasions, and you are probably already well aware that if the rash is accompanied with difficulty breathing, severe nausea, rapid heart beats, etc. take the antihistamine first & head for the doctor second because severe anaphylactic reactions can be triggered by any of the above, including inhalant allergies (perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, hairsprays, paint odors, etc.). Always look for the obvious, instead of zebras, because that is more likely where the problem is.

I recall one little 2 or 3 year old girl brought in for a rash, off and on for several weeks, but mostly always on the same cheek. Fortunately daddy came along with mommy and his daughter. Observation otherwise wouldn't have helped much. First off, little girl was very comfortable and snuggled on daddy's shoulder. Aha, we have here a daddy's girl don't we? Mom and Dad both smiled & nodded yes. Next question was is this the arm she usually sits on and is she usually leaning on the same shoulder and snuggled against your same cheek? Again daddy smiled & nodded yes. My next action was to feel daddy's cheek and smell in the same direction. Of course I had already looked at the child's cheek initially which did not include a diagnosis written on it. Daddy's cheek felt as it looked, freshly clean shaven. It smelled of after shave or cologne. By now you have all probably seen the obvious here. I told Mom and Dad that the rash being on the same cheek and this being the usual position that put that cheek against daddy's cheek, that the rash would most likely be either a reaction to the product I smelled on his cheek or from the looks of it might be from daddy's stubble of beard when he snuggled with her when he wasn't freshly shaved or even a combination of both. We talked of leaving off the smelly stuff and using a buffer between daughter's cheek and daddy's to see if this solved the problem. If it didn't to bring her back in one week. Must have solved the problem since she didn't return.

An alternative doctor that I have a lot of respect for (Dr. Jonathan Wright) expressed an opinion that when you turn up with skin problems, look to the digestive tract, and I would think more along this line, especially in an older person with gastrointestinal complaints. His theory is that our stomachs become less efficient at producing hydrochloric acid to digest our foods and suggested a supplement to aid the digestion or increase the stomachs production of the needed acid. Logic tells me that since people who don't produce enough are often treated with B12 injections, a good B complex won't hurt anyone (there are some B12 products available now that are absorbed orally). When reduced production of hydrochloric acid is the problem, a couple drops of Lugol's solution or SSKI a day should aid the stomach to work properly also. Especially look for subtle vitamin and mineral deficiencies if you have cracks & lesions at the corners of your mouth. Some generalized rashes can accompany infections. The childhood diseases of rubeola, rubella, chicken pox, scarlet fever are the most common ones. Another one that comes to mind is the second stage generalized syphilis rash (one of the few that involves the palms) but the first stage syphilis chancre lesion usually sends one to the doctor for treatment before the second stage rash occurs.

Hope this helps some of you solve those rash problems. Remember to listen, to yourself and others, because the one with the rash is the one that can tell you anything they have changed recently before the rash started, anything they might have eaten, drank or were exposed to that might have triggered the offending rash. "

When her daughter was little she has rashes so bad on her bottom that she had to leave on the diaper quite often because of her acidity level in her urine. One day her mother was watching her and she told her mother to be very careful because of the rash. She left for a few hours and when she came home the rash was gone. She had applied Milk of Magnesia directly on her granddaughter and not long after the skin rash was gone.

My friend also told me about using it on burns, so I have tried it. My daughter and I have both burned our hands so I tried it and it worked. You need to soak it near an hour but it leaves no red marks and it feels better."

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  11/03/2009: Lilly from Wellington, New Zealand writes: "I have been plaqued by all kinds of symptoms and just recently discovered it is most likely candida. I had rashes, hives, prickles, body hot flashes, allergic feeling, sneezing, weird smell coming from body. When my rashes dry out I get dandruff like white dust (a sign of fungi) and this is when it starts to heal up - before that rash just about made me leap through the roof.

I started to use Neem oil. I put a few drops in water and because I don't have a bath put it on container and then dribble it over my body. I rub it in at last point in shower so it doesn't wash off then get out and let it dry. I don't put any creams on just dry.

I have been using it for about a week and so far the rash has almost gone - i don't itch nearly as much, no more hives, or prickles unless I get over hot.

I am also going to add in betonite clay/psyillum. Spices I crave but they may create too fast die off because I get really hot and itchy after I eat them.

I recommed Neem (some of the other oils I get reactions too but i'm fine with neem). Will you keep you posted - I can tell I have overgrowth in throat (not in mouth) and I guess probably just about everywhere. I am also going to try find some leaves to put in warm water and soak - or chew on."

His hair grew back very quickly, and although he wasn't too thrilled with the first application, he WANTED the second one very much. The itching stopped immediately.

A couple years later, my daughter had a rash that no doctor seemed able to get rid of. We tried the Nu-Stock and it cleared right up and hasn't returned.

I've had a problem with athlete's foot for years. I tried all the other remedies and it got rid of "most" of it, but there was a spot on the ball of one foot, including two toes where it just wouldn't go away. One day it occurred to me to try Nu-Stock. After just a couple of applications, the skin was back to normal, all itching gone, and it appears to be healing permanently. I think this is going to finally kill it!!!

Doing a little studying, I've found that Nu-Stock is 73% sulphur, 25% mineral oil, and 2% pine oil.

I've also discovered that there are other health products made for pets that aren't available for people. For instance, in the local Farm & Fleet, you can buy a cheap package of electrolytes for your pet's water. 16 oz. of DMSO was only $5. And there were other things as well, most of them in the section for horses! Isn't it amazing that you can buy products for your pets, cheaply, and you can't get prescription products that work for yourself???"
