LAOS BOY WITH PSORIASIS

01/14/2009: Jaques from Brighton, England writes: "Ted, my son is married to a Laos woman whose nephew has really bad psoriasis on his leg, in the small village where he lives there are only dirt roads, so he has to be careful where he plays, he is 8 yrs old and his parents had been given medication from a chinese doctor but have no money to continue buying this. I know ACV can work for this condition but hes only 8 and also i dont think it can be obtained in Laos, even in Vientiane, the capital, i remember you said you cant get it in Thailand and that you used lemon - have you any suggestions what this boy's parents could use that could be bought locally and cheaply, they would be so grateful, thank you. Jaques"

01/15/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "A plain distilled White vinegar applied to the legs would usually do fine. It's applied to the area with a small towel (face towel) soaked in white distilled vinegar for 30 minutes. It's done in for a couple of days and should be gone. In Southeast Asian country, the psoriasis is often a fungus condition. The other thing is just to eat more fish to the diet. It appears to be also low on omega 3 diet. Laos do have white distilled vinegar and fish. I would love to see baking soda, taken internally, such as 1/4 teaspoon usually in 1/3 glass of water for children. Alkalization increases the immune system. There are other remedies, but this is the easiest to obtain. If a white distilled vinegar is not found (I doubt that) a lemon juice is a suitable substitute, applied to the area too, but may sting.

01/16/2009: Jaques from Brighton, England replies: "Thank you so much Ted, i will email this information to my son who will go to the boys home soon and hopefully they will take your advice and try this for the young boy....."

01/16/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "If things aren't working out, most drug stores in Thailand, and maybe Laos have a bottle of Milk of Magnesia (where labeled magnesium hydroxide only) has really helped with psoriasis too. The milk of magnesia is applied to the area of the skin externally several times a day over a wide area.

PSORIASIS SUFFERER FOR TEN YEARS

09/16/2008: Bereket from Asmara, Eritrea writes: "Sorry, with my english but I believe you can understand what I mean.. I have suffered with psorises for more than ten years . I have used Divonex,Diprosalic,Hidrogen per oxide but it doesn't work infact it cools down but i haven't gain full health. I have been suffering with psorises please give me your advice what I better to do. And i want to know what is the main couse of psorises Thanks.."

09/16/2008: Alex from Boston, MA replies: "Hello everyone. Thank you so much for this great website! I am replying to the post by Bereket from Asmara, Eritrea regarding psoaris. Bereket, I too suffer from psoriasis and here are a few things that have been very helpful, as far as treatment goes. I take borax and sea salt in water, do oil pulling and take grapefruit seed oil in water. I take 1/8 teaspoon (tiny amount) of borax and 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt with water, mix it with about 1 liter of water and drink it throughout the day, 5 days out of 7. Also, I do oil pulling every other day with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 2 drops of oregano, neem and clove oil. When it is too itchy, I use a little bit of diluted oregano, clove or manuka oil topically. As other posters have pointed out, please be very careful when dealing with essential oil, they are incredibly concentrated and can burn skin, ALWAYS diluted first. Finally, I put 4 drops of grapefruit seed oil in a glass of water and take it 3 times a day (total of 12 drops a day). I hope this helps."

09/20/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Bereket from Eritrea & Alex from Boston: Hi Guys, I don't have the psoriasis problem so never had the occasion to check it out, but Adele Davis (nutritionist) had the theory that psoriasis was caused by faulty fat metabolism and her recommendation to counteract it was that well known fat emulsifier called lecithin. I believe that her recommendation was 6 tablespoons of the lecithin granules per day."

3 YEAR OLD GRANDSON WITH ITCHY SKIN DISORDER

08/10/2008: Sandy from Henderson, NV writes: "My grandson, age 3 has a dry and terribly itchy skin disorder. Will Apple Cider Vinegar, when applied to his skin heal this problem, or relieve it substantially?

Thank you."

08/12/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Sandy from Henderson: Yes, Sandy, applying ACV to itchy areas usually relieves the itching. My suggestion is to put a cup of ACV in his bath water (to relieve the itching & also protect from bug bites) and then try leaving off any soap, bubble baths, etc. because it may be the soap that is drying his skin and causing the itching. In most cases, the soap isn't really needed. All you really need for cleanliness is just some good old water and a washcloth. If he doesn't itch while you are omitting soap, you will know that you have found the cause. You will also find that you like the way he smells without the soap better than with the soap. I learned this from a little lady in her 60's about 30 years ago. She told me "My daddy was a chemist and he always told us that if you didn't use soap, you won't need deoderants because soap makes you stink. I stopped using soap (except for handwashing) in l982 and I found her daddy was right. Your sweat doesn't smell either, and you don't have that fishy odor all the EC users who complain of BV. Also decreases most of the foot odors too."

HIMALAYAN VS. DEAD SEA SALT FOR SOLE

03/14/2008: Dave from Winnipeg, Canada writes: "This is a question I see much about making "Sole" and drinking with water every morning. The recipe always calls for Himalayan Salt. Can this be done with dead sea salt?

Signed,
Had enough of this Psoriasis."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "

Dead sea salt or Himalayan sea salt works about the same. The key to make it work better is to add drops of H2O2 3% per 1/2 glass of water at about 5-10 drops. Usually a psoriasis can be helped further by adding a small amount of baking soda too. Mine was helped by just taking 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon of sodium carbonate (washing soda) in 1/2 glass of water taken three times a day for a couple of day and it just disappeared too. Sea salt kills the pathogens by salinity but interestingly most sea salt are alkaline anyway.

As for me I don't use Dead sea salt and Himalayan sea salt that often and I just used a local Thai sea salt and it works fine too, but that's perhaps I added some 3% H2O2 to the mix, such as 10 drops per glass of water in a sea salt solution."

IMMUNE FUNCTIONING

05/31/2007: M.C. from LV, NV writes: "Ted, I have had psoriasis since i was 16. I within the last two years have it on my hands and feet as well as nail fungus. I attribute this worsening to my recent separation and divorce from my husband (not by my choice). My hair was thinning and falling out mostly in the front of my head. I went into early menopause at 37 years old and I am now 47. I get hot flashes after eating any carbs. I exercise 4 times a week cardio and weights. I weigh 110 and i'm 5' 3" tall. I was diagnosed with osteopenia a while ago but it never progressed I was taking natural progesterone cream from the health food store. I quit taking it when my hair started to fall out and i had started to feel bad. I'm gaining weight around my mid-section and my real concern is I have this feeling that something is on the left side of my throat, I have a little difficulty swallowing no pain though and I have to cough or clear my throat often an I have a slight hoarseness in my voice which has lasted for over a month. I take glcosamin and choindroiten, coral calcium, Vit B complex, B-12, zinc magnesium, vit. a, folic acid, I take every so often flax, borage and evening primrose and fish oil. I also once in awhile use acv on my salads. I eat mostly raw salads and occasionally cooked veggies with some fish and once in a while eat some chicken etc. Could I have an enlarged thyroid? Are the things i'm taking affecting my immune system. Also for about 10 years from the age of 25 to 35 I had ulcerative colitis but I finally figured out that my diet had alot to do with that, my doctor denied it. I quit pasteurized milk and sugar and sodas. I do drink raw unadulterated milk which for some reason helps my psoriasis. What can i do for all this. Sounds like alot. Thank you. Plus what can i do to prevent the effects of antibiotics before cosmetic surgery?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Thyroid is a problem, but so is adrenal exhaustion Sorry about the time taking to answer this, but the hair thinning problem have to do with suppressed immune system, as certain microbes blocks the glandular functions. Vitamin B complex need not be taken everyday since certan B6 is a hydrochloride, and becomes acid forming. The best with that is to take only twice a week. The most important issue appears to be to raise the immune system, by alkalization or get urinary pH of 7. there are three possible remedies, the most simplest ones is the 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day once in the morning and once before bedtime. The other issue is the heavy metal accumulation which was not considered, but a big factor to microbial growth such as taking chlorella capsules once a day 5 days out of 7. The hair thinning appears to be reduced iodine in the body and manganese that causes the hair thinning issues. Iodine supplements ideally can come from Kelp, taken 4 or 5 days out of a week. Micromineral imbalances appears to be likely, so add 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt plus a tiny pinch of baking soda, such as 1/16 teaspoon to 1 liter of drinking water to correct that.

Historical ulcerative colitis appears to be a magnesium deficiency, but you did mention taking, so that was helpful. Gaining weight around the mid-section appears to be electrolyte imbalance, hormonal problems due to adrenal exhaustion. Alkalizing will help reduce some of the midsection from ACV+baking soda, or just baking soda slowly. Usually taking some sea salt will reduce water balance by restoring electrolyte imbalances. Pomegranate fruits will help reduce that too by taking care of the kidneys as well as being a diuretic. If taken together with Alpha lipoic acid 100 and DHEA 25 mg (only twice weekly or once a week dose) should help restore the problem of the midsection issue too. In my case, it was very helpful. Adrenal exhaustion issues can be helped with licorice extract one or two tablespoon, perhaps 2 or 3 times a week as it helps some glandular recovery. I have seen people with urinary pH of below 6 to have problems of water retention and raising them seems to reduce this problem.

prevent the effects of antibiotics before cosmetic surgery

Cosmetic surgery can leave infections and scars, so getting the body alkalize enough should at least help the healing as it raises the body's overall immune system. Consider taking chlorella supplements to counterbalance the negative effects of heavy metal accumulation caused by antibiotics. Also, most antibiotics are acid forming, and it is important that baking soda, or alkalizing is used to neutralize the acid."
