Porphyria
"Porphyrias are a group of inherited or acquired disorders of certain enzymes in the heme bio-synthetic pathway (also called porphyrin pathway). They are broadly classified as acute (hepatic) porphyrias and cutaneous (erythropoietic) porphyrias, based on the site of the overproduction and accumulation of the porphyrins (or their chemical precursors). They manifest with either neurological complications or skin problems (or occasionally both). A clinically induced and histologically identical condition is called pseudoporphyria. Pseudoporphyria is characterized by normal serum and urine porphyrin levels."

GENERAL FEEDBACK
04/05/2011: Pearl from Wyobraska, Wyoming, Usa: "I was doing some research on Porphyria and read that the main treatment is an antimalarial drug. It being that MMS is effective with malaria, I was wondering if it could be used for Porphyria as well. In my research I found a couple of articles on websites that thought it might work, but no testimonials that it had. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it, pro or con. Thanks."

REMEDIES NEEDED
03/02/2011: Marla from Atlanta, Georgia, Usa: "I have a couple of friends (mother and son) who suffer from acute porphyria ("vampire disease")http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002188/,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porphyria).
It is a truly debilitating disorder, and after I've gotten such great results personally from approaches gleaned from EC, I wondered if Deirdre, Ted, or anyone else might have suggestions for treating porphyria? I'd also appreciate opinions on the safety of advising people with porphyria to add ACV to their diets and use oil pulling for dental health, particularly in light of porphyria being primarily an enzymatic disorder."
