NEED HELP W/ PARKINSON'S DISEASE
07/27/2011: Anna from N.hollywood, California, Usa writes: "Dear Ted my wife is 39 and was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's desease, she's taking a sinemet 100/25, 3 times a day, but it helps not much, side effects are very strong, uncontrolled movements appeared. Please advise something. Thank you for your time."
07/31/2011: Annie from Denver, Co replies: "Anna, I just read Magnesium Miracle by Dr. Carolyn Dean, and there is information about Parkinson's and a severe magnesium deficiency. I use Magnesium Oil liberally on my legs for twitching and cramping from vasculitis and it really works wonders. Also look into Celtic Sea salt, as many people with nerve issues say they were really improved by ingesting as will as topically spraying it on."
08/01/2011: Rachel from Reinholds, Pa replies: "Try large doses of coconut oil - say 7 teaspoons spread out over the day. This oil works in marvelous ways to help rebuild nerves and brain function.Read this bit of an article written by a doctor:
"Our cells can use ketone bodies as an alternative fuel when glucose is not available. Brain cells, specifically neurons, are very limited, more limited than other cells, in what kinds of fuel they can use to function and to stay alive. Normally, they require glucose (sugar), but they can also use ketone bodies. Humans do not normally have ketone bodies circulating and available to the brain unless they have been starving for a couple of days or longer, or are consuming a ketogenic (very low carbohydrate) diet, such as Atkins. In Alzheimer's disease, the neurons in certain areas of the brain are unable to take in glucose due to insulin resistance and slowly die off, a process that appears to happen one or more decades before the symptoms become apparent. If these cells had access to ketone bodies, they could potentially stay alive and continue to function. It appears that persons with Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, multiple and ALS9 have a similar defect in utilizing glucose but in different areas of the brain or spinal cord. MCT oil is digested differently by the body than other fats. Instead of storing all MCTs as fat, the liver converts them directly to ketone bodies, which are then available for use as energy. Oral and intravenous administration of MCT oil produces hyperketonemia, or circulating ketone bodies, which are then available to the brain for energy, in the absence of glucose1 and even in the presence of glucose. In addition, hyperketonemia results in a substantial (39%) increase in cerebral blood flow, 18 and appears to reduce cognitive dysfunction associated with systemic hypoglycemia in normal humans."
I have also used larger doses of CoQ10 to help folks with Parkinson symptoms and found it helpful for most of them"

TED HELPS WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE
06/07/2011: Anonymous from Anonymous writes: "Hello Ted,
I have been on the website earthclinic and noticed your posting for Parkinson's Disease. I was wondering if you had an updated treatment protocol for Parkinson's....I noticed the update for ALS in 2011 so I was just wondering if it was the same for Parkinson's. I am a little apprehensive to use MB.....I plan on getting it from a pet supply store. I am worried about mixing it and getting the dosage correct and how much of that mix to take. Could I just use the vitamins and not add the MB since it is the early onset of Parkinson's or is the MB essential to the protocol working? I do not want to do more harm then good. Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
Also, I have a family member that is dealing with a cousin of Parkinson's called Dystonia. She has Cervical Dystonia it is where her muscles are competing against each other and the person suffering from the disease ends up with their head turning to one side and being stuck. Do you have any ideas on how to go about treating this disease?
Thank you again very much for any thoughts"
06/30/2011: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Parkinson's I have some update for that one already. The cause if a virus, so lysine, threonine, and a few antivirals are possible, andrographis paniculata, for example. The method of treatment is similar in that respect but Parkinson's varies because of different degrees of infection, and one particular treatment stands out, grape seed extract. As far as Dystonia, I have that posted, it has possibility of two causes viral and fungal, so it's a bit harder to treat, especially fungus, but as far as I know there are a couple that I may use, asafoetida (Devil's dung) and portulaca oleracea purslane, and andrographis paniculata, which deals more with fungal but also virus. If it is not posted I might as well retype sometimes they get lost in email which happens.Ted"

"Hello Ted,
Thank you for keeping me in the loop for both of these diseases.
For the Parkinson's, I am getting ready to do the lysine with threonine. I am just waiting for the threonine to be sent in the mail. I will look to add the antivirals. I also went ahead and got the Methylene blue and I am thinking about adding it to the regimen for treatment of the Parkinson's. I will also add grape seed extract....how many times a day?As for the Dystonia, I have had my Mom try the remedy by using the lysine and gluathimne. She did 2000mg lysine with 250mg of glutamine 7x daily for 7 days. And she is now on 500mg of lysine 3x a day. She said that her neck felt a little loser. Should I have her do another round of the high dose of lysine w/glutamine and should I add in some threonine also and maybe this time do it for longer than a week? I will look at getting the asafoetida (Devil's dung) and portulaca oleracea purslane, and andrographis paniculata. She goes to a TMC doctor so I am guessing he could put these herbs together for her.
I am also wondering what you think about kefir. I make my own kefir from milk kefir grains and I use raw milk. My understanding is that it helps to produce good bacteria in the stomach that helps to fight off viruses. We have been drinking about a cup of it a day....do you think that would help with Parkinson's since it is a virus.
And one last thing what do you think of using human chorionic gonadotrophin (hcg) for weight loss. Any harm in it?
Thank you again for all your wonderful info. It is wonderful to know there are people like you in the world. Thank you again for your time"Ted replies to Anonymous:
"I will also add grape seed extract....how many times a day?Twice to three times a day.
should I add in some threonine also and maybe this time do it for longer than a week?
Yes you can, but over longer periods L serine is important too, both threonine and serine is involved with immune system, but I mentioned only one over the short term only since most people that contact me by email rarely considers going long term (maybe their condition doesn't demand it, or whatever the reason), but my idea is to keep it simple and stupid.
I am also wondering what you think about kefir. I make my own kefir from milk kefir grains and I use raw milk. My understanding is that it helps to produce good bacteria in the stomach that helps to fight off viruses.
Kefir may not agree for most people as some are lactose intolerant, sure there is less lactose, but if a person gets flatulence after drinking this then it's not good. Also you must make a distinction between probiotics and prebiotics. Probiotics are seeds without fertilizer and prebiotics are fertilizers without seeds, but in real settings we all have the seeds, just that they lack the fertilizers, and pH and therefore there is a disproportion of bad bacteria over good bacteria. Therefore, prebiotics such as onions, garlic, and scallion or another one leeks, are necessary to get prebiotics to from probiotics in the stomach. There's just one more ingredient, baking soda. That is far more effective then probiotics and it doesn't effect your intestinal flora that much. And finally, brewer's yeast or beta glucan to stimulate Peyer's patch, immune system should help further probiotics as dead yeast cell walls, and some butter, forms butyric acid, which is anticancer.
And one last thing what do you think of using human chorionic gonadotrophin (hcg) for weight loss. Any harm in it?Since cancer cells produces a lot of human chorionic gonadatrophin hormones anyway, it prevents the immune system of staging an all out defense against cancer. So if a person has a potential for cancer, I would not use it, you're adding fuel to fire, that includes predisposition for cancer such as benign cancer, cysts, and diabetes. I would rather do something simple, no fats and no carbs, but take plenty of proteins. Now if I were to write a book on that simple remedy no one will buy it, it's too simple, but you also need to take some mineral and vitamin supplements too, and I wouldn't take the multivitamin kind, they will make you fat, the B6 in it will do that, and most multivitamins don't contain enough of B3, selenum yeast, and zinc which are three important deficiencies I see. That's why you have Atkin's diet, but I think it is a copy of Dr. Simmerman's diet. The problem about that is Karen Carpenter died from Bulimia with Dr Simmerman's diet from a massive vitamin B deficiencies. So Atkin's diet was a repackaging of Simmerman's diet, with followers make a mistake of not avoiding trans fats, partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, so you get high cholesterol, because our body is not designed to handle trans fats, so they remain in cholesterol and cannot be further processed into steroids, or hormones. Again that's my opinion, not reflective of medical opinion, in which case you have to consult your medical doctor on that one.
Therefore, prebiotics such as onions, garlic, and scallion or another one leeks.
Ted"

"Thank you again for the information. I will add this to the regimen. One last thing....Should I double the dose of Methylene blue. Right now I take 2-3 drops in the morning, should I add a second dose in the afternoon? Also is MB okay to take long term?
Thank you again for your time"Ted responds to Anonymous:
"If a person has low energy and the minimum dose as 2-3 drops twice a day, is doing well, but needs to do more they can take more, up to 8 drops will be fine, they can take it for long term also. Usual medium dose is around 4 drops twice a day for people who has weaknesses. Actually in very weak people such as malaria and septicemia (blood poisoning), for example, they take far more, like a 15 cc per hour in liquid form, without any ill effects. But at that dose the urine will be green or blue. To prevent that, they will be taking vitamin C, which will make their urine normal. People will know what level to take, generally, by taking methylene blue to match their energy requirements, but the usual is between 2 to 8 drops. The contraindications is you cannot take any caffeine, as it negates the effect, in other words it won't give them the energy. If a coffee was taken, the best way to rid of the effect is to drink more water. That will rid of caffeine the best.Ted"

CAN METHYLENE BLUE BE USED WHILE TAKING MEDS?
05/01/2011: Kuky from Lawrenceville , Georgia Usa writes: "This question is for Ted, please I need to know if methylene blue can be taken with the prescription given by the doctor. My husband spent about two years taking carbo levadopa(generic Simenet) but makes him awfully sleepy, so the Dr changed to mirapex three times a day an one Simenet 25/100 at night when he goes to bed, because It helps him to sleep.
Since we stop Simenet during the day he has more freezing episodes and salivates often. I read about your information of Methylene blue but I don't know if I can start now. Also I have read you said how to increase stem cells in the body, the formula said baking soda plus citric acid (1/4tsp twice a day and colloidal silver 80% plus colloidal gold 20% please tell me if this should be mix together or how to do it. I would like to try it on my husband. He is 72 years old and all I want is for him to have quality of life. I am also using magnesium oil at night to relax him (and is working), I give him everyday antioxidants and vitamins among them Hydroxocobalamin 5000mcg to clear metals etc but is very pricey.
My husband had a stroke 35 years ago and now because of the parkinson walks with the help of a special walker after two surgeries of the right hip. After the last surgery he was told he has Osteoporosis so he takes Boniva 150mg once a month. Thank you for your help I have read your advice to other people and I appreciate your kindness as well as the opportunity Earth Clinic is giving me to ask you this questions. I will wait anxiously your response
Respectfully,
E Wolf"

METHYLENE BLUE - RECIPE DOSAGE REQUESTED
03/17/2009: C. writes: "Hi Ted,
I hope all is well. I just purchased Methylene Blue at my local aquarium supply store. I know you said the dilution method is 100cc of methylene blue to 900cc of water. I just want to make a small amount. Is it safe to say 1 part methylene blue for 9 parts water? or 1 drop of methylene blue and 9 drops of water?
Looking forward to your answer. Regards"
03/19/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "If a small sample dilution. A methylene blue at 1% concentration is clearly labeled. Then a rough approximately but not necessarily precise is 1 drops methylene blue 9 drops water. Then this totals 10 drops. This means I will use just 3 drops of that, dissolved in water. it helps if B12 was taken. After long trial and error, methylene blue is synergistic with a b12. A precise calculation requires a different measurement, but for all practical purposes this is fine.

QUESTIONS ABOUT METHYLENE BLUE FOR PARKINSON'S DISEASE
R. from Caracas, Venezuela writes: "Methylene blue and parkinson's disease
Dear Ted, I read your comments on the theme above (I've been diagnosed with the disease here in Caracas-Venezuela) and I'm interested in the dose of mb that you recomend (2 to 3 drops of a 0,1% solution 2 to 3 times a day, right?). Do you know how soon one can see some result of this dose? Do you know about the posible negative effects of mb in larger doses on hemoglobin? It seems in larger doses mb affects the iron content in the blood. Also,do you have any information on the use of certain aminoacids to help the nervous system and the sinthesis of dopamine in the organism? and any other info of interest on this condition's cure.
Thanks in advance. Hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely yours
R."
01/11/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear R.The improvement in symptoms of Parkinson's takes only a matter of days to a week to see that. However, I had two cases of Parkinson's. One was not really cured because it was misdiagnosed, the autopsy revealed lyme disease instead, hence the remedy is entirely different and was not cured. The second case was correctly diagnosed and is mostly cured. The surprising aspect about the second one that was cured, came from the lysine, which is involved with the immune system, and lysine is most well known (at least for me) against virus, that's the same case that's also confirmed and been significantly helped with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease - which is adenovirus). Both Parkinson's and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - Lou Gehrig's disease) have symptoms very much similar in nature of polio, which is also viral in nature and can be treated with the same supplements accordingly. To get a significant improvement in Parkinson's, and I am talking about the kind where is a tough one, in Intensive Care Unit, the patient is dying, given up by doctors, the lysine is taken almost hourly for about 1-2 months and nearly all symptoms of Parkinson's are gone. However, it was not JUST the methylene blue, it was also the lysine anywhere between 600 mg - 1200 mg. The dose I used however was mostly 1000 mg. I am currently looking at L- Threonine which has similar efffects against virus along the nervous system too. It's possible that the brain and it's spinal column is very much related to immune system being compromised, effecting or the cerebellum and spinal cords thereby causing weakening control of the legs, then the arms, then finally once reaching the cerebellum, heart and breathing control. At least that's the general pattern. It varies from individual to individual, although the ALS is quite deadly. Most people may not need this kind of dose, and hence, but I think just 4 grams two or four or five times a day should be sufficient, but initially I think just start slowly first with just 1000 mg four times a day, hourly dose. Once a person is cured, the dose I like them to continue as a preventive is generally lysine 1000 mg three times a day. I am currently looking into threonine to get exact dose and frequency so that people may be cured faster. I haven't been getting much good luck lately, bad luck got to me as they were already cured with just methylene blue and lysine, before I really have a chance to test for threonine. In any case, I believe the dose can be lowered and the cure may be quicker if threonine was used also. In any case I hope to post this threonine update in a couple of weeks as to how well it has performed. It's important also that supporting supplemennt is seen as helpful also such as vitamin C, taurine and vitamin B complex.
Methylene blue is an antioxidant It helps cellular respiration by supporting the cycling of hydrogen, the major component of cellular currency in energy which increases overall cellular immunity. The dose that's use even in more drops has no effect on hemoglobin, as the dose in normal use (even four or five times more ) and concentration at that level has no efffect. I am likely to worry about the sleeplessness effect on methylene blue more than anything else, because that's where most of the problems are, although it is extremely valuable for sleepy drivers.
Ted"
