<description>[YEA] Naveed from Karachi, Pakistan writes: "Molluscum Contagiosum: Tea tree oil worked 100% for me. it was like Godsend for me.

MC were in dozens on my face and some on chest and back. I got tea tree oil (diluted) from a store and applied directly on them twice a day.

When I bathed I used tea tree face wash. I also didn\'t shave for few weeks and kept my face dry. In few weeks they were gone like they never appeared.

I also use tea tree oil as mosquito repellant (work for few hours).

<description>[YEA] Susan from Hartford, Ct writes: "I found this site after my son was diagnosed with molluscum on his face. The dr recommended CompoundW. However, I decided to try to ACV treatment and I cannot be more happy with the results.

I used a piece of a cotton ball moistened with full strength ACV, held in place with a bandaid. After the first night, the molluscum spots already showed signs of dying- the center turned black. We continued the treatment almost nightly for about three weeks. The area does become irritated and reddened, so we either cut the ACV with water, or only did the treatment every other night. Within three weeks they were completely gone, and only red marks remained- these lasted a few weeks but are now mostly gone and I expect will fade completely.

One excellent discovery: my other son had a plantar wart on his toe so I decided to try the treatment on that as well, and within the same amount of time his wart was GONE. We had had trouble with warts in the past and had a heck of a time getting rid of them-- months and months. I wish we had known about the ACV before.

I am amazed that my son\'s doctor had never heard about it.

<description>[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Snusnu from Commerce, Ca/usa writes: "Found out I had MC on my genitals a few days ago and been reading all the other comments on health blogs so far I have been getting some results with the treatment that I have been administering on myself:

-definently be sure to change towels, razors, throw out bar soap, and replace loofas

-be sure not so shave because that will spread the mc

-be careful using apple cider vinegar it is very agitating to the skin, applying it with a cotton pad and leaving it on my skin has not been worth the discomfort and burning. I suggest to apply Apple Cider Vinegar as a spot treatment but to not leave it on the skin. Cleaning sensative areas with wiping pads dipped in a solution of sea salt, acv, and water has been helpful and not as harsh

-I found that applying tea trea oil has been affective over the past two days as well, and it is a far less harsh treatment than avc, I am also incorporating clove oil as an additional spot treatment

-use medical tape to cover the skin to keep treatment in place, as well as to prevent spreading of mc.

-carefully peel away and change tape with every treatment

So far I have noticed that some of the mc have burst on their own, leaving little black tabs that come off with the tape, I am still having an issue with new ones popping up but it seems that the old ones are starting to dry up and die. This treatment was done over the course of 3 days hoping that with the continuation I will be making a full recovery soon. I am also left with a layer of brown dead skin but I believe its nothing some exfoliation will not get rid of. Hope this is helpful to anyone else suffering from mc

<description> Brandi from Conway, Ar writes: "I have read so many entries about MC and I have to say I am mad at myself for not searching for a home remedy before now! My 3 year old daughter has had this well over a year. I took her to the derm and like you all have said, nothing they can do they will go away. Well we started out with a few and then quickly moved to 20-30 and are now up to prob 100 or so. They are horrible looking as some have blistered or scabbed and popped. She complains of them hurting and itching. I would like to try the ACV but scared it will burn her. I have recently started using the tea tree oil and it seems to be helping. I noticed after using it once there were a few that blistered and popped and scabbed up. This stuff is a nightmare!!!!!! I will try the ACV and see what happens! Thank you all for the advice :)

<description> Rey from Melbourne, Australia writes: "I start to noticed that my son had an MC and it was mostly on his thigh and legs around 80 of them. He was 10 y.o. I think he got it from his swimming lesson. I had to stop his lesson after learning from it. We consulted the doctor and it was confirmed. We\'re told that we do not need to do anything and it will just go away. He even referred us to a pedeatric dermatologist but the waiting period was 6 months( typical Melbourne health service).

Then I search the internet and saw this site. I learned a lot and applied the medications. The first week showed a lot of improvement. These is what I did.

Shower in the evening and applied the ACV on every MC. I used cotton balls by getting a small piece of it. Just enough to cover the MC.

Cover the affected thigh and legs with a bondage to hold the cotton balls. Smells vinegar on the first few days but better than having MC! Washed the bondage so it can be re-used.

Shower in the morning to get rid of vinegar smell and applied the papaya cream. The cream is for the skin not to get dry and get rejuvinated from the burn of the ACV. Dry skin cracks and the virus nows has an opening to get in and spreads.

Always changed the towel and PJs after used to stop the spreading.

When the MC become a blister and burst I always applied honey. To help the tissues to recover and heals quickly. I used a small container and put a teaspoon of honey and used cotton tip. Used a different tip for every single MC that burst. Scabs will form after a day or two.Bed sheets has to be replaced every week. You need a lot of patience to combat this MC. The MC was gradually reducing. Only thing left was a scaring and a bit discoloration on the skin. It will become normal after a few weeks. After 3 months of battle we finally won.

What I don\'t understand is why the medical profession always says \"You do not need to do anything. It will go away\".

<description> Bess from Calgary, Alberta, Canada writes: "A mother wrote an interesting blog entry using aromatherapy to cure her toddler\'s molluscum contagiosum. It\'s very informative and she posts photos of her little boy and his progress. It did take several months but the spots haven\'t come back. It\'s posted on a site that sells essential oils but you can buy essential oils just about anywhere these days. It\'s the information that is useful. For what it\'s worth:

http://naturesgiftaromatherapy.blogspot.ca/2012/09/more-on-molluscum-contagiosum.html

Lemon myrtle is usually applied to adult skin but the mother found it too harsh on her son so she used Ravensara in Calophyllum.

Hope this helps someone.

<description>[YEA] Mohammed from Amman, Jordan writes: "My 4th year daughter diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum , it started with about 25 spots , we take her to the dermatologist , and he adviced us to make a cryotherapy to remove it - it was abad experince for my daughter because it was painful - we did it because it was a fast solution to prevent spreading the virus to other areas on her body , after 2 weeks I noticed a small spots with a numerous numbers all over her hands and legs , we were shoked from that , so we took her again to her dermatologist , he adviced us to paint Benzac 5% all over her legs and arms , of course I did not listen to him , because Benzac 5% it an irritating medicine it will casue a pain and my daughter and she may scratch it - Because of benzac - and this will lead to spread the virus to other areas on her body or to us ...

Since I live in Jordan where dead sea locate in , I know Many people come from all over world to the dead sea to enjoy there and to treat many skin diseases such as psoriasis , even when I was in Jordan - now im living in other country - I used to go with my family and friends to swim in the dead see , and paint our bodies with this mud , By the way this mud is very rich of minerals especially sulfur and it has astrange texture because it lays under the most salted sea in the deepest point in the world , where you cant find and creature live in because of heigh concentration of the salt and minerlas - except some kind of Bacteria where discovered recently - , by the way and many cosmatic companies used this mud in their product ....

<description> Mohammed from Jordan, Amman writes: "Hi, before a six month my four years old daughter diagnosed with MC. It start to appear in her upper legs that time there was about 25 spot in both leg, so her dermatologist suggest to remove it by cryotherapy. I know it is painful procedure but I decide to do it because I was afraid to scratch it. Any how me and my wife were happy because all has been removed but before a few weeks it start to reappear again so we decide to use Benzac 5% on the new one. After a few days these spots become dry and disppeared. We thought at that moment that the problem was finished. UNFORTUNATELY, we discoverd a very small numerous number of MC on her both small arms, they were very small and almost cover her arms and start to cover her left cheek. We were shocked. Her dermatologist said we can do nothing just give her a multivitamins which contain Zinc because Zinc will boost her immunity to fight the virus, also he advised us to put Benzac 5% every other days with a moisturizer cream (Bioderma PO zinc) cuz that cream will cause dryness and irritaion for her skin .....

I was very sad for her then I had an idea. What if I use Dead sea mud on her arms and legs to see what will happened . Especially that this mud is used to treat various types of skin disease such as Psoriasis and acne. Actually I\'m living in Jordan( where dead Sea locate in) and I used to put that mud on my body when I go to swim in Dead sea, actually it tighten your skin, make it smooth, and it has an exfoliating effect cuz it is rich in sulfur and other minerals , Before two days I started to put Dead sea mud on her skin and we leave it for 15 minutes till it become dry then we wash it with water and Dettol shower gel. We noticed that after shower all the spots become big, red, and inflamed but after one hour they come back to its normal size. Some of these spots become white, really I dont know what that mean?? Is it a good sign or not... I hope it will work and I will tell you what will happened within a few weeks with her. Sorry if my english language was not fluent ....

<description>[YEA] Tj from Glenmoore, Pa writes: "I wanted to post my 11 year old son\'s experience with Molloscum Contagiosum. He had it for about three months on his upper thigh before I realized (and confirmed with pediatrician) what he had. I read many, many hours on the internet for what to do and agree with ACV as a first course of action. I do have a caveat. ACV will burn the skin and my son\'s problem was the larger pox were surrounded by tiny ones, which many people don\'t mention. So I freaked out when I did the ACV and then more seemed to pop out! I kept applying the ACV and I cleaned out the larger pox as some people have posted. Then the ACV began to redden his skin so I switched to CLOVE OIL. I applied clove oil to the entire area affected (always with gloved hands and q-tips) and covered it with a cloth bandage and taped it on. He smelled like a Christmas cookie. After three weeks his leg has some scabs but no new pox. I also gave him TAGAMET (Walmart generic). I think we will be in the clear soon. Here is a quick breakdown of what I did following what people have already posted:

1. apply ACV to large pox -- don\'t freak out if more come out just keep treating them; once a large pox is cleaned out apply triple antibiotic ointment for a couple of days to avoid infection

2. if skin becomes irritated and you have cleaned out the larger pox switch to 100% Clove Oil

3. give generic Tagamet, I used the dosage of 30mg per kg of body weight, which seemed a little high for his 105 lbs. so he took 1000 mg - 1200 mg (5-6 200mg tablets daily)

I hope this helps.

<description>[YEA] Relieved Mom from San Francisco, Ca writes: "My 8 year old son got MC about last winter and it spread like mad over the summer. First we tried apple cider vinegar - it worked a little but burned and itched. He also had so many lesions that I was concerned about spreading them every time I used a cotton ball to dab the ACV on. Tried clove oil (no change at all), tea tree oil (dried his skin out and itched), and boosted his immunity with vitamins and probiotics. Nothing worked until we tried Colloidal Silver. Within 2 days of ingesting 1 tsp/day and spraying his body topically, almost half of the lesions in his armpit (which was covered) were gone. He was also pain free from the itching and burning. We are 4 days in and every day the improvement is tremendous. I bought it over the counter at Whole Foods and can\'t believe the change. He is thrilled and I am so relieved that something finally worked!

<description>[YEA] Godblessedme from Milwaukee, Wisconsin writes: "CLOVE OIL! CLOVE OIL! CLOVE OIL! I caught molluscum from a sauna at the gym, I had a hard time getting rid of most of them. I tried ACV and that just irritated my skin and made things worse. I ordered the strongest Tea Tree oil on the market from Melaleuca, that worked a little better but it took quite a while. After 8 months I thought they had all gone away but apparently I had one little spot that stuck around for another 4-5 months, I didnt realize what it was and scratched it. Well needless to say, it spread to about 7 bumps. I was devistated, then I found this thread and someone had mentioned clove oil. I got 100% pure clove oil, applied it to the spots and within hours the spots were smaller and almost gone. I applied the oil 4 times and over night, they had all disapeared! I was amazed and so relieved! Try clove oil! Just be careful because it seriously burns if you get in the wrong areas by accident. I have a hypothyroidism which causes my immune system to be weaker than normal, so I thought I would never be cured of this. With much praying and much effort of not irritating the spots, and dialy upkeep of oils and cleansing I am happily free of the ailment!!! Good luck to everyone, I hope my advice helped someone. Prayers and Clove oil!

<description>[YEA] Vix from Napier, New Zealand writes: "I was very pleased to come across this information. When my eldest was about 4 she suffered this condition and I waited as the Doctor suggested, for it to go away on its own. Well it spread considerably from her legs and on up her tummy and was quite unsightly, causing distress even for a 4 year old. It took about 9 months to disappear. That was years ago, but when I noticed some spots on my son\'s legs a month or so ago I had a look for some alternative solutions to waiting.

The ACV treatment worked after just 4 treatments. I washed the area carefully, wearing gloves as it is contagious. Then I surrounded each spot with zinc oxide to protect the surrounding skin, soaked a small cotton ball (the size of my little finger nail) in ACV diluted to 50% with water, squeezed it out then placed it over the spot, then covered the affected area with a band-aid and left it over night. In the morning we removed the band-aids and allowed the skin to be uncovered for the day and then repeated the treatment again the next night. The bumps were noticeably reducing after 2 treatments, and on the 3rd day had developed a little black spot in the middle. I didn\'t try to squeeze them or anything, just repeated the treatment, and then by the look of the spots which were pretty much gone, stopped the treatment, and now there is no sign of any spots. I would happily recommend this procedure to anyone, but caution you that the ACV is acidic, so the zinc oxide to protect the unaffected skin is useful, as is the dilution of 1:2 so it is not too strong.

Did the ACV and it worked okay, but just hurt my 2 yr old too much. Tried zymaderm, didn\'t work. Tried clove oil applied directly too spots (my bottle was over 8 yrs old so I applied direct, but probably dilute with carrior oil if new(some say their oil is strong enough undiluted to blister. So be careful, don\'t get it too strong). It should only be a mild tingle if anything when applied. First the spot gets a little raised and inflamed around it. Then the horrible little spots get a dark spot in the center within a couple days of 2 applications per day and fall out. Killed them dead. Finally something that works, if I had only known at the beginning, he would have only had 15 spots to treat not 50. Clove oil, who knew.

<description>[YEA] David from Melbourne, Vic writes: "This will be my first ever posting on the internet for I simply could not help share my personal cure for molluscum. After reading countless sites and forums over a period of a year I found the only thing I could to rid myself of molluscum, of which I endured for over a year until very recently! A truly horrible experience I have to add!

Firstly I would like to say please ensure you are very careful to not pass this on as I had no physical contact for over a year and was at my wits end. Be vigiliant as other people tell you keep the infected areas clean and try and use handtowels to dry this area, and wash them regularly as you don\'t want to spread them over the rest of your body, for they soon spread!

Anyhow I tried numerous concoctions such as expensive creams from the dermatoligist, also creams such as Dr Wheatgerm\'s, nail polish, canesten and numerous other things; but never bleach as some suggest though by the need of it I was nearly willing to try. So basically the only thing that worked, for me, was a mixture of tea tree oil, lemon myrtle (difficult to get hold of though) and Raw Organic apple cider vinegar. By themselves these were not that efficent, though teatree was somewhat effective. Basically I mixed these in a bottle along with some water to dilute the ACV etc and applied with cotton balls or make up pads. However, if I had a large one appearing I would soak the cotton ball a little (but only enough to cover the infected area) and use medical tape and tape them on overnight, or simply treat as many times a day as you can. In a matter of weeks they were all gone!!!

A note of warning though be mindful of not exposing unaffected skin to ACV as it can leave burns, although the markings have dissapeared. Just be sure to use the cloudy organic ACV as the normal ACV is useless! Good luck and hope this helps.

<description>[YEA] Kenzie from Salina, Kansas, USA writes: "I would just like to post the progress I have made with my 6 year old to cure her MC with ACV. She has had them for over 10 months. The dermatologist said they would go away on their own, but could spread since she has eczema. I am a nurse and appreciate alternative or homeopathic medicine. The dermatologist told me that they could burn each one of the MC off, but it will hurt and they might come back. After hours of research, I decided to try the ACV suggesstions. I just wanted to post what I did. It took over a month, but all of the MC are gone!

1. Apply Zinc Oxide to all skin surrounding the MC to protect it from the ACV. ACV will burn and dry skin out, so keep it off healthy skin as much as possible.

2. Soak cotton ball with ACV. Cut small pieces to cover the MC. Apply soft roll gauze, then coban over the whole affected area, and leave it on over night. Take it off in the morning and shower. Be sure to use a new towel with each shower and do not rub the MC, just pat dry or air dry. I did this for 2 nights. The MC appeared to be wet and white. Some of them turned black also. I let the skin air out when no treatment was on the skin.

3. After all of the original MC were dead, there was an outbreak of all of the ones that must have been dormant. I treated them by dabbing a ACV soaked Q-tip on each one, 3 times a day, until they turned white or scabbed. I also added a cup of the ACV to the bath water once a week throughout this whole process.

4. I used Triamcinolone cream to the reddened areas of healthy skin that was damaged by the ACV.

5. After all the MC were obviously dead and dry, I began to put Vit E oil directly to the areas to help the healing process. These MC can leave awful purple scars. I did this twice a day for a week.

6. The skin was extremely dry after the treatment and my daughter wanted to scratch all of the time. After I knew the MC were all gone, I began to put Eucerin cream to the dry skin twice daily.

7. All of her MC are gone and the skin is nearly healed. I bathe her in Aveeno oatmeal bath once a week and keep the area moisturized.

This may not work for everyone, but it did for me. It took a little over a month, but I cannot see one MC anywhere. She has some scars, but I think they will fade. My advice about this treatment: be patient, do not pick them as I saw them spread when my daughter scratched, do not get ACV into open areas or on good skin, expect more to appear after the start of treatment, and be persistent.

<description> Amanda from Ozark, Alabama writes: "About 2 yrs ago I noticed my oldest son had some small bumps around his shoulder area. Didn\'t think much of it we live in South Alabama so bug bites are very common. I went on life as normal BATHING MY KIDS TOGETHER.... After a few more weeks I noticed that my oldests bumps had spread &amp; a friend suggested that it might be MC. I had no idea what that was so I took him to the Dr &amp; same story as the other people. However he did tell me that it was highly contagious. My heart sunk knowing that I had already exposed my two other kids to the virus. My sweet baby girl showed signs about a month after seeing the Dr. Hers however were between her legs up high. She has battled over a yr now. It has been painful for her and heartbreaking for me. I asked the dr everytime we visited if there was anything we could do to stop the progression. You see where hers are they multiply like crazy. I finally got sick of hearing \"just let it run it\'s course\". My baby was getting scarred in a delicate place &amp; not to mention the pain.

I turned to the web &amp; found out about ACV. Now it was not an easy task getting my 5yr to let me put the treatment in this very sensitive place. My oldest was game &amp; was willing to do whatever it took. My youngest 3 has one on his behind &amp; one on his arm but after watching my daughter\'s reactions was not too happy to let me try the treatment on him... We solidered on. After the first round the biggest of my daughter\'s bumps are gone my oldest son\'s have all gone &amp; baby boy made it only 2 days so more is needed there. Baby girl is going to need more treatments as well. But I must say the information i\'ve received here has been invaluable. I hope that a mom somewhere reads this &amp; gets help for there baby\'s before 1 &amp; 1/2 yrs passes with no help.

#1 don\'t allow legs to rub together at all!

#2 make sure the area drys completely before dressing

#3 don\'t poke or pop them!

#4 let them see the progress so they maybe more willing to go along with the treatments

#5 pray over those suckers!

<description> Motherof3 from El Paso, Tx writes: "Well about a year ago I noticed a few bumps on my 7 year old, I went to his dr and was told that it was eczema and was given meds that have not worked at all. The MC spread to his back buttocks knees and arms and now my 4 year old has a few on him. I finally went to a derm. And was told that it was MC and he told me to use scotch tape and tap the bumps 20-30 times each a couple times a day. So for about 2 weeks I have been doing that and I have noticed a change they are starting to go away. It is a pain in the butt to do but so far is drying them out. A couple days ago I started ACV as well so hopefully that will start working. I also read that if the virus is on arms or any exposed areas and the kids have to go to school or whatever to put clear nailpoish over the bumps so the virus can\'t spread.

<description>[YEA] Tracy from Asheville, Nc writes: "My 2 1/2 year old daughter began to develop small bumps on her neck about 6 months ago. I thought they were skin tags.... But it seems instead that they are MC. We did not go to the doctor for this but learned of this condition from a friend. I have tried the ACV swabbed on her neck but she just fights me. I have instead turned to Grapefruit Seed Extract as it helped me with perioral dermatitis a year ago. I have been giving her 2 drops of GSE in a 6 oz. Glass of OJ once daily. Within 48 hours, her MC spots began to dry up. She has done this for 9 days now and the MC spots are just tiny scars. I believe they will be gone within the next week. I wanted to share this because I had not yet read about using GSE for MC.... But it works and it\'s simple. Good luck to you.

<description> Jennifer from New York City, Ny writes: "Question: Two weeks ago I noticed two bumps on my left crotch. 1 week later, it became 10. I was panic so I went to the dermatolist... he froze the 8 bumps wihtout saying it would spread.

Two days later. 10 bumps became 40. It went to my vagina and left butt cheek.

Desperately searching the internet for cure, I decided to try Apple Cider Vinegar .. and keep a journal here for your all.

Day 1: Soaked cotton balls with ACV and sealed with waterproof tap. From 9pm till 12pm the next day. Areas show no bumps now surfaced 20 small white puz filled ones ( does that mean it is working? ). The others are just read and round.

Day 2: Saturday so I am spreading it with ACV all over my body, and tape all the enlarged areas the whole afternoon. Nothing changed - no black/brown- only white and red.

Question: does spreading ACV all over my body preventing the spreading of virus?

I don\'t know where I got it from. I went to the Korean Sauna a month ago. Went into the Jacuzzi - could it be where I got it?

<description>[YEA] Sus from New York writes: "My 3 year old got molluscum (had 50 or so bumps) and doctor said there was nothing we could do (he would no doubt suffer more with freezing or burning them off).

After waiting awhile, watching them get worse, trying apple cider vinegar (which stung! ) we came upon MANUKA HONEY. I am telling you, this stuff is MAGIC. It\'s painless and effective. You can get it in your local health food store or on the internet (my Whole Foods did NOT have it though).

The rash was almost completely gone in 1.5 weeks of honey application once/day topically. And he liked the taste so he ate some too, which probably helped. WOW!!!!

<description>[YEA] Melody12 from London, lectionnez Un Etat, United Kingdom writes: "Hello, I am just writing to let you know that Hydrogen Peroxide seems to be doing a great job for me. An Algerian doctor told me to dab it on with Q-tip on each spot and hold on for a couple of minutes on each one, then leave to dry. The molluscum seems to be coming up to surface, then after a few days of use, they either fade away or dry out. I have tried ACV for 12 hours first, given the positive feedbacks from everyone, but I had to discontinue it since my molluscum is around my genitals, and I ended up with blisters (can\'t find the words to describe the pain) the skin was way too sensitive for the ACV. I have left the skin to rest for a couple of days, dabbing only with vitamin e cream, then started Hydrogen Peroxide for the past 10 days like the doctor told me. I am very happy, it doesn\'t cost much, seems gentle on my skin AND it\'s doing the job. I should have listened to her earlier. I am doing this 3 times a day. Additionally to this, I am drinking two tsp of ACV in a glass of water twice a day (fighting it from inside). Also my doctor told me to avoid baths, to not scratch, and to not wipe but just dab toilet paper on to avoid spreading it to nearby areas. Will keep you posted on how it\'s going. Thank you for this great website!

<description>[YEA] Mom T from Cincinnati, Ohio writes: "Two of my boys had Molluscum Contagiosum, and we have found our own way to get rid of them. It takes consistency, but it works. Every night and Every morning they would rub each bump with a Clearasil pad (the ones with 2% saucilic acid in them). This dries the bumps out and they disappear within a couple weeks. Now, both of my boys also have severe Eczema. So obviously using a drying agent on their skin caused their Eczema to flair (esp. Since it was in their elbow arm pits- a bad eczema spot anyway). We combated their eczema at the same time with their prescription Elocon lotion (being sure not to touch the bumps with the eczema lotation, b/c that would just counteract the molluscum treatment you just did) The bumps will be a little painful and bright red as they are drying out, but I promise they will go away one by one, quickly! Try it and see if it works for you- I hope!!! Molluscum is awful and ugly!

<description>[YEA] Carina from Cochranville, Pennsylvania writes: "My daughter had molluscum bumps on her knee and elbow. Each site had only about 10 bumps, but at 7 years old she was uncomfortable with how they looked and didn\'t like her friends asking what they were. I asked the pediatrician about them and she said it was mollescum and that it was a virus that just had to run its course, sometimes getting much worse than better.

I turned to EarthClinic, as I do for everything(! ), and once again ACV seemed to be the trick. We put it on by dabbing with a cotton ball about 3 times a week and within a month they were gone. I think with an even more regular treatment they would have been gone even faster! Love love love what ACV has done for us!!
