"Migraine is a neurological syndrome that can cause a wide range of symptoms during an attack. The most commonly thought of symptom is headache.

It is widespread in the population. In the U.S., 18% of women and 6% of men report having had at least one migraine episode in the previous year, with seriousness ranging from an annoyance to a life-threatening and/or daily experience.

Usually migraine causes episodes of severe or moderate headache (which is often one-sided and pulsating) lasting from four to 72 hours, accompanied by gastrointestinal upsets, such as nausea and vomiting, and a heightened sensitivity to bright lights (photophobia) and noise (hyperacusis). Approximately one third of people who experience migraine get a preceding aura, in which a patient senses a strange light or unpleasant smell." (Wikipedia)

Alka Seltzer, when taken before a full-blown migraine if you are someone that gets nausea during migraine helps relieve it. I have been suffereing from migraine for many years now and getting hold of ACV, baking soda etc is not always convenient. Trying to see if AC Gold without aspirin would have the same effect."

[NAY]  08/23/2009: Alison from Magherafelt, Northern Ireland writes: "I was 50 when I had my amalgam fillings removed. I did not see any benefit to having them removed and was later informed that once you have amalgam fillings it is best to keep them as having them removed causes a lot of mercury to be released into the body system. I chose to have them removed on the suggestion of an naturopath who I was attending because I suffered from migraine. Didn't help with migraines."

06/23/2011: Zahid from Leeds, West Yorkshire, Uk replies: "My migraines started about 5 years ago and affected the right side of my head near the temple. At first I would get them several times a year but in the past two years they became a daily event. When my migraines started I was sensitive to light and noise. I would have to draw my curtains and get into bed. I would pass out at some point, waking up several hours later.

I too have amalgam fillings and having done some research on the net I figured I needed to remove my fillings. I was advised by my dentist to take Chlorella for a week prior to having the fillings removed and to continue for another week after removal of the fillings. However, an article I read on the internet suggested taking Chlorella for 3 months before and after removal of the fillings. I came across a free book online called

Superfoods For Optimum Health: Chlorella and Spirulina

by Mike Adams, the Consumer Wellness Research Center (chlorellafactor. Com). Google it!

I started on 2.5g Chlorella powder combined with 5g Spirulina powder (a ratio of 1:2 is advised) for 2 weeks (twice a day) to allow my body to get used to these superfoods. After the initial 2 weeks I increased the amounts to 5g Chlorella and 10g Spirulina and I having been taking that for the past 5 weeks (twice a day). To be completely honest I can't remember exactly when my migraines stopped. What a relief!

I purchased my Chlorella (1kg powder for £55, and Spirulina (1kg powder for £45) from Indigo-Herbs of Glastonbury in the UK.

I still intend to have my amalgams removed, but my priority now is to deal with my eczema (face and back of hands)

The introduction (extract) from the free online book reads as follows:

Some have called this book, "The most courageous voice yet... " on chlorella and spirulina. That's because inside this book, you'll get the astounding truth on how these two superfoods are far more than just "supplements" like vitamins and minerals: they are disease preventing and even reversing foods from nature that can actually help conquer cancer, nerve damage, diabetes, heart disease, irritable bowel syndrome, clinical depression, and much more.

You probably haven't heard that before, and here's why: no company selling chlorella or spirulina is allowed to tell you the truth about it. That's because the FDA would consider such statements to be "medical claims. " So you never hear the real story on how these amazing superfoods can actually reverse serious diseases with no side effects and often without surgery, drugs, or other barbaric treatments like chemotherapy.""

08/25/2011: Quinny from Phoenix, Arizona, Usa replies: "For your eczema use golden seal in a paste or poultice. Google for more ways it takes care of eczema."

[YEA]  04/15/2011: Organic Mama from Minneola, Fl writes: "Thank you everyone for for the glowing testimonies on acv. Ive had some around for yrs and was never able to really get used to drinking it until recently I got a new job and was getting a migraine like everyday. I was taking a popular migraine over the counter pill to get rid of it and I know that it was making me sick so I thought to look on here and thier were so many positive testimonies and I wanted to get off the medicine due to the caffine in it was hurting my bladder.

The first day I did like 5 rounds of the honey with the Apple Cider Vinegar in about 8oz of water the following day like 3 rounds then 2 then none for a day or 2. Never had a migraine since. Yay!!!!

So today I took a supplement that I had an allergic reaction to, lots of sneezing and this caused my bladder to leak. My eyes were horribly itching too. So I came back here and looked up allergies and here it was again ACV the cure all. Within a half hr all the allergy symptoms were completely gone. I am very greatful for this site and wanted to contribute due to the wonderful and simple effects of the ACV. What I love best is that anyone can afford it. I have a few health books by the braggs family and they are great but I really love this site best due to the specific testimonies. Thank you Ted for everything you do to help the health challenges of so many of us. Organic mama"

[YEA]  03/22/2011: Dorothea from Waynesville, Nc writes: "ACV definitely helps with my migraines, which start in the back of my neck and creep through my head into the forehead. Nothing helped anymore unless I'd take something so strong that it could be dealt on the street. Not my cup of thea though and I drive a school bus! I tried the 2-3 tbsp. ACV in about 8 oz of water with a little honey. It really tastes good, like tart apple juice. Anyway about 20 minutes later my migraine/headache was considerably better and I could think straight again and the fatigue that usually comes with this headache was gone. I drink the concoction now everyday at least once and more whenever needed.

Thanks to all who recommended it!"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  08/29/2010: Simsboynton from Vancouver, Wa writes: "My husband read that vinegar reduced cramping in athletes - so he tried it for the leg cramps he gets from riding 40 miles on his bike. One day he suggested I try it for my frequent migraines - he thought it could affect the sodium channels that are linked to migraines. I get the kind w/ hypersensitivity to light, sound, etc., sometimes w/ naseau. Well, it's not 100%, but it works fast and helps more than other painkillers. He uses approx 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar in 2-3 TBS water. Someone should do clinical research on the sodium channel aspect as per migraines."

They usually are accompanied by the usual light sensitivity, nausea, vomiting, etc. Yesterday I began to have an aura (preceeds the migraine) with vision disturbances, light sensitivity, and nausea. I tried the apple cider vinegar remedy and I felt better within about half an hour. I probably would have felt better much sooner but the apple cider vinegar itself makes my stomach feel not so good. Once the apple cider vinegar stomach upset was gone all my other symptoms were gone with it and no headache occured."

[YEA]  06/09/2010: Dianne from Wilmington, De writes: "I had to write in since I am so amazed! Lastnight I had 2 adult beverages (light beer). I am an occasional drinker. I enjoy organic, wine, sake (Japenese wine), and light beer. I drink maybe once or twice per month. Before retiring last night after drinking the beer(was up later then usual), I drank a bottle water, some pumpkin seeds (for magnesium), and a little chocolate cake from weight watchers. I think the beer, seeds & chocolate triggered one of the worst migraines I have ever experienced. This morning I was feeling very sick with every symptom. I laid down in a quiet room and went back to sleep, awoke by a phone call and felt a tiny bit better but still had the migraine. I ate a 1/2 bagel, some sips of green tea. I got online and found this website. I went to the kitchen and whipped up 8 oz chilled water, disolved a tablespoon on organic raw honey and 2 TBS of ACV. It was a little yuk but not undoable. I downed it in 3-4 gulps. I started to get an immediate result! I went upstairs put my feet in a hot bath and placed a cool towel on the back of my neck for 5 minutes. I went back downstairs got my veggie steamer out, poured in about 2 tbs ACV and placed my face over the steamer for 5 minutes.

Conclusion, I feel 95% headache free! I am not sure if I have sinustis since I have been having seasonal allergy symptoms or if it was a combination with the alcohol and diet. I found all of above-mentioned natural remedies here on this fantastic widesite. It is my first time visiting here and I will keep it handy for sure.

I am so relieved to have found a natural remedy that so-far works amazingly!

Thank You!!!!"

[NAY]  07/17/2009: Jessica from Duluth, MN writes: "I wanted to put my two cents in regarding Apple Cider Vinegar for migraines: I have had migraines all my adult life and have been on various medications for them, some of which worked somewhat and some which didn't. In recent years I've tried natural remedies as well, and several months back read about ACV for migraines. I began drinking 2T in warm water with honey, and drank it every day for two months. In addition, when a migraine came on during that time, I chugged a glass of the same mixture. I am sorry to say neither method worked in the least bit. I have had luck with ACV for dermatological issues and as a hair conditioner, but for migraines and (my son's) asthma, it didn't work at all. I'm glad it's a cure all for some, and really wish it had worked for us. Oh well!"

I came across a site which mentioned lack of magnesium being a cause of migraine. When I asked to be put on a trial to see if it would work for me the doctors at hospital said they had never heard of such a thing so I started taking a supplement myself. Since taking the Magnesium I am down to 2-3 migraines a month. I am now taking the ACV mixture and look forward to seeing the effects of that."

So I started taking it every morning for breakfast for 2 weeks. When my menstrual cycle came, the migraine was completely gone. I also make sure that I have enough sleep cos lack of sleep would also trigger the migraine."
06/01/2011: C from Philadelphia, Pa replies: "With a migraine, you can't take a medicine (vinegar) with something as metabolically significanty as honey and discount it as not working. I'm not saying that ACV works, but as a ten year sufferer of extreme migraines, what I do know is that sugar metabolism is intimately involved. I know that the ACV doesnt taste good, but grin, bear it, and take it on its own to evaluate its effectiveness.

Also, that goes for medicines and supplements in general. You should always start with administrations of small amounts of singular supplements and skip combinations and large amounts until you are used to what small amounts of single substances do."

[YEA]  06/07/2009: Karen from Anderson, SC writes: "Hi,Just wanted to comment on the acv treatment for migraines. It works. I started this a couple of years ago. Migraines run in my family. Severe ones. Nothing has ever worked. Came across this site a couple of yrs ago, decided to try it. Tasted really awful, but the bad taste outweighed having another migraine. I took it faithfully twice a day. My migraines went away. I didnt get sick at all. Well I decided to come off of it. I thought I was cured, haha. Not long after, got the flu twice within 2 months, migraines started coming back. Needless to say, I am here to say it is my daily regimen, now. I use unsweetened apple juice (32 oz.bottle), 1/4 cup honey, and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. Shake it up real good. to melt honey, run it under hot water. I drink about 4 oz morning and night. The taste is bad to begin with, but hang in there. It does grow on you. IT WORKS. Best migraine preventive medicine I have ever taken. Hope it work for you. Please give it a try. What have you got to lose."

So far so good! I will say that w/o the honey, I couldn't pallette the taste, so I mixed it with La Croix (but any brand UNSWEETENED) Lime water. [YEA]  06/06/2008: Jaimi from Orlando, FL writes: "WOW! I have come to love the wonderful product of ACV. I have had severe allergies and sinus problems since I could walk. Chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsilitis (they have lonce since been removed), rhinitis, etc... I have always taken prescription medication. However I am 8 mos pregnant and have not been able to take anything but over the counter Tylenol products. For the past 3 days I have been down and out with a severe sinus migraine, congestion and pressure. Nothing worked and I am sleep deprived! Adding these symptoms to 8mos of pregnancy spells MISERY for sure. I was desperate so I hopped online and what do you know? I found the same product that cured my husband of his pesky wart will also clear my sinuses. I only wished I found this info sooner! I took 1 tbsp of ACV with 8oz of water and downed. Then I made a mixture and put it in my veggie steamer (ACV is also a great residue cleaner) and sat over it for about 5mins. Everything started to clear up within the hour. I then rinsed with saline solution and I can breathe out of both nostrils! My headache is almost gone and the pressure almost nil! Oh and by the way the ACV steam bath is great for oily skin. I noticed a difference immediately after the face bath. I was then curious to see if this was a known rememdy for acne/skin problems and sure enough it is!!! In fact, Earth Clinic was the first hit.
I am amazed that such a simple, inexpensive product can do so much. Thank you dearly for this site."

I came across this website looking for a treatment for my recurrent sinus infections that no antibiotics ever took care of, and based on all the reviews I tried the ACV treatment. It worked in ONE DAY!! I can't believe it, because I am a doctor, and am a little wary of home remedies. I did the 2 tbsp in 8 oz of water, and in one day I didn't have as much sinus pressure, and by the second day the constant drainage from the infection had stopped, and my migraines which I have had on and off for years also have not returned. In addition, my bad breath from the infection is gone, and I don't have to constantly be chewing gum anymore! I definitely will be doing this treatment everyday for a very long time, and I've found if you eat just a little bit of bread or crackers with the ACV you don't get heartburn. To anyone who's suffering from a sinus infection, just try this, it doesn't cost you much money at all, and if you've suffered from sinus infections as much as I have, you owe it to yourself to give this a shot!!! Best wishes to all!"

I tried almost every drug to get rid of the painful symptoms. Some of the drugs did help slightly but not always. My neighbor is a homeopathic doctor and listed all of the benefits of this "natural miracle" I ... started to take a couple of TBSP every morning. Every since I have been taking ACV I have not had a headache or migraine since. Apple Cider Vinegar will stay with me my entire life!"
