SIDE EFFECT

[YEA]  05/20/2009: Nads from Toronto, Ontario writes: "I am very, very happy today because I prayed to God to help to find a cure to my promblem and he did. I suffer with fibriod and cyst since I was 25 years old. I had a myomectomy to remove them in 1997 and they grew back with a vengenace. I then had terrible periods with heavy clothing and excruciating pains. I had to be wearing pampers as pads were always causing my clothes to be messed up. I also had very irregular periods and infertility. After still having the same problem after my surgery I went to a Iredologist and Naturapathic doctor who gave me a 3 days fasting and cleansing along with her own medicines and instruction of what not to eat. My period regulated (I now had regular cycle which I never had since the age of 16)and the pain and heavy bleeding went away. Three years later I came off the vegetarian diet and two years after that the problem started again. I still was unable to conceive and worst my periods became very very irregular as the years progressed. In 2005 I saw my period and it never came again until middle 2006. Then once in 2007 then again three times April,May and June 2008 after I had used flaxseed oil recommed by my friend to simulate its arrival. I did not see my period after that and in 2009 I became very depress because the flaxseed oil was not working I then thought I was in menopause I then was led by God to this site and must say the ACV, Blackstrap Molasses and 2 Flaxseed oil tablet has now so far restore my period with no heavy bleeding nor pain. I hardly feel the bulky fibriods nor the symptoms of the fibriods or cyst. I however still have not gotten pregnant yet. I am still hoping and praying this will happen soon.

Can anyone tell me of something that can assist me in getting pregnant after having myomectomy surgery. Thank you all very much."

In 2007 after I demanded an ultrasound (had a tummy as if i was 4mths pregnant)to figure out why my abdomen was getting bigger and not getting pregant. I was informed i had a fibroid. 6mths later after another ultrasound, was informed the fibroid grew 3x in size and now i had an additional small fibroid. immediately my period became out of control! could not go to work or go outside during my first 3days(it was almost as if someone shot me!)the dr said the only resolution was to have myomectomy which i had jan of 2008. as i was healing and getting ready to return back to work, all of sudden wasnt feeling well, went to the dr and SUPRISE I WAS PREGNANT only 2mths post surgery. I delivered my beautiful boy nov 2009 pregnancy and delivery went vry well. so dont loose hope i wish you well."
[SIDE EFFECTS]  01/11/2012: Barkha from Dubai, Uae replies: "Hi I have a fibroid 2.2 in my uterus as well as polyps and endo thick wall since last two years I was bleeding heavily for around 10 days five months back this worsened and my periods would not stop. The doctor did a D&C on me in August and there was no malignant issue after five weeks of D&C. I got my menses which did not stop I was again bleeding heavily and getting big clots. The doctor put me on primolut N to regulate. When I stopped after 20 days I got my menses and I was back again to heavy bleeding. Again the doctor asked me to take primolut. Two weeks back I came across this website and immediately went and bought ACV and soda bicarb and also unsulphured molasses and started having this along with primolut. When I stopped the pill and got my menses the first day was okay but the second day was the worst of my life I had HUGE clot of blood almost the length and breadth of my pad and when I went to the toilet it fell off on the potty I was scared seeing the size of that... But after that I felt as if my body has settled down I had no more clots but as always the bleeding did not stop until even the 6th day and I was told to take primolut again...

Can Ted or anyone tell me why this happened? I have been religiously having ACV twice a day and molasses once or twice a day but still am bleeding, can ACV and primolut be taken together? Thanks so much in advance for any response- appreciate it.""

02/01/2012: Barkkha from Dubai replies: "Further to my previous post I wish to tell my experience of my second menses after starting ACV and BSM. I was on the pill stopped the pill and after three days I got my menses which after years WERE NORMAL, NO HEAVY BLEEDING, NO BLOOD CLOTS and finally after four days I stopped bleeding and it's two weeks since and I did not need to take primolut to stop the bleeding. I am still in an unbelievable state for I have been bleeding since months, so ACV works for me, I now have 2 tsp everyday.

THANK YOU TED THANK YOU EARTH CLINIC AND ALL THE WONDERFUL LADIES WHO SHARED THEIR EXPERIENCES"

02/03/2012: Malu from Singapore replies: "Hi, Even I had over bleeding problem. I tried this remedy and working over bleeding.

Try out:

Heat a pan and boil milk and petals. Let it boil nicely until milk gets a pale lavender colour.

[YEA]  Diana from New York NY writes: "I also found water helps. Laying in the bath (for 30 to 60 minutes or so depending on your situation) really seems to work well. A doctor I know also suggested showering might help as well. Another way I've found that works for me is rest. I've noticed that it seems to be heavier when I don't get enough sleep or if I'm stressed out. Try relaxing and making sure you get at least eight hours of sleep."

[YEA]  03/05/2009: Mabel from Kampala, Uganda writes: "Hi, first and foremost i would like to thank EC, am so greatful for this website, it's such a blessing! Black tea has always been my remedy for stomachach and menstrual cramps. One just needs to boil a cup of water, add tea bag and take it hot (not very hot though) with no sugar (sour but helps) or add 1 tsp of honey if you cannot stand the taste. This will solve your stomach problems!"

12/21/2010: Pam from Wyoming, U.s.a. replies: "I hate to say it, but if you are bleeding that heavily and for that long, I think you should see a doctor asap. At least get a diagnosis and take it from there."
12/22/2010: Dee from Melbourne , Australia replies: "Lisa if you look under the "Remedies for Menstrual Issues" section in this website you will see many people have used Apple Cider Vinegar (organic with the mother in it) to stop their menstrual flow. One person had been having the problem for six months and the ACV immediately stopped it. 1-2 tblspns in 8 oz water. Best of luck."
12/22/2010: Self from Ny replies: "Lisa,

1) have you tried the remedy Jill used with success? She was drinking 2 tbspns of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (ACV) in 1/2 cup of water 3 times a day. Drink plain water after to rinse the mouth. ACV has helped others with heavy periods too, perhaps because of its alkalizing effect and ACV may help emulsify fat which can disrupt hormones and cause menstrual troubles.

2) Diet is important too. Keep a diet of fresh vegetables, some legumes, whole grains, frutis and nuts. Limit hormone filled milk and meats. Limit sugar. Limit fatty, fired foods, including vegetable oils. Cook with modest amounts of extra virgin coconut oil. It is more stable at high temps and the body can burn it off more easily. The foods I lsited to avoid or at least limit, block the actions of the hormones and can cause menstrual troubles too. Drink dechlorinated and defluridated water too.

3) To help clear out vegetables oils that often stay trapped in the liver causing congrestion, take 1 tbspn of lecithin granules (a fat emulsifier) before a meal, several days a week, for a few months at least.

4) Some are also helped by regular exercise, but you may not feel you have the energy for it. Make sure to check your iron levels sicne you bleed a lot. For this level of bleeding, be sure to see a physician too (preferably a naturopath).

5) Have you also tried the Unsulphured Blackstrap Molasses (BSM) remedy? Mix one to two tablespoons of BSM in one cup of warm water and"

12/22/2010: Self from Ny replies: "Sorry this part was missing from my post:

".. Drink once a day for several days a week for a few months at least. This remedy is even more popular than the ACV for menstrual issues and has a lot of success. ""

I tried the molasses this go round and was shocked to find a normal period though it lasted 7 day on the nose. My question is does anyone know why this stuff works? I am asking because I feel little strange. I have some cramps here and Im a little tired. I do suffer from anemia also. But I want to know what happened to all the blood and clots, are they still in there or did the molasses cause it to be reabsorbed or what. Because I started it just a few days before so im sure all that store of stuff was built up and ready to go. So where did it go?"

[YEA]  05/28/2011: Kim from Ohio writes: "After reading about Blackstrap Molasses for this I decided to give it a try. I do use natural progesterone cream but may stop using it if this works. (Yes, I have heard it can cause fibroids to grow, but it helped me with night sweats etc. ) I have had terrible periods for years where I am actually down for at least two days. Cannot work etc. Forget any functions with family. I had to miss my Grandson's 6th birthday last year because I couldn't leave the house! Miserable non stop bleeding and clotting. Very draining. Kind of feel like I am outside of myself due to all the pain and blood loss.

I tried Blackstrap Molasses one tbs a day prior to this last period and I have to say I am totally shocked. By the second day of my period I am out of it, but not this time. I actually was up and about, able to go to the store without having to turn around and leave right away due to "flooding", and even did some chores! I was in tears. Hardly any cramping at all except for a little the second day. I am going to continue this. I also take two tbs Apple Cider Vinegar a day and just starting taking iodine as I know I am probably low. Anyone who has this problem must try the Blackstrap Molasses as I know adding this to my regular regimen is what helped since I was already taking the Apple Cider Vinegar prior to the bsm. (unsulfphered) Makes me want to cry right now out of sheer relief! Good luck to all."

[YEA]  09/26/2010: Mary from Wallkill, Ny writes: "MIRACLE!!!!! I have suffered from heavy menstrual cycle for nearly 4 years. After having normal. Very light 3 day periods my entire life, living the last 4 years, basically hemorrhaging every month was hell. I was diagnosed with anemia and told that I need a hysterectomy. Not a fan of doctors or surgery, I was desperate to find a natural cure. The day I found this site, I went to the health store and purchased Organic unsulfered Blackstrap Molasses. My bleeding slowed withing 24 hours and completely stopped within 48 hours!! I did not have a bleed for another 28 days. My first period after starting my BSM regime (1tbsp in am & pm) only consisted of one heavy day and a total of 4 days and NO blood clots!!!

Prior to this, I would go sometimes 3months without stopping. In addition to that, I would horrible embarrassing accidents and often could not leave my house. This is a miracle cure for me. I have recently started taking Apple Cider Vinegar and between the two, I haven't felt better in years. Thank you all for your testimonies...... You saved my life!!!"

[YEA]  11/15/2010: Whisper from St. Louis, Mo Usa replies: "I was like clock-work until I got birth control when I was 19 (I'm now 37). Since then, I've had menstruation issues - either have extra heavy periods for up to 3 weeks or nothing at all. Depending on the method and how long my periods were, I have been in and out of anemia. (Believe me, I've tried every birth control known to mankind, I think, and none of them worked. ) Anyway, I'm never been big into homeopathic treatments, but thought I'd give it a shot when I found this website. I started taking 1 tbs blackstrap molasses twice a day about a week ago Monday (when I was expecting my period on Wed). Just when I thought I was going to be off again, I got my period on Thursday and it stopped this morning (4 days)! I couldn't believe it!

I'm still not 100% convinced since this is my 1st time, but if this happens a month from now, you can be assured that I will be shouting its praises from the tops of every mountain I climb. For this month, I sincerely thank this website and everyone on it who had recommended blackstrap molasses. Will let you know how it goes next month."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  04/11/2011: El from Rockford, Il replies: "I was diagnosed with fibroids about 6 or 7 years ago. I am now 44. About 18 months ago, my periods started to become irregular. In about the last 6 months, they have become really heavy and longer. With 3-4 heavy days and lasting as long as 10 days with the flow tapering off to med and light, then finally ending. Let's just say, it has been hell trying to plan anything. Travel, especially. Anyway I found this site about a month ago, was going thru tests with my doc and she was talking surgery (i am also anemic) and I wanted to find something natural to try. I started taking BSM on April 3rd (1 T/day). I am in the middle of (day #4) my first period since starting it.

1. My period started on the exact day that it was suppose to.
2. I have had 2 heavy days (with only 1 heavy night) so far.

I see this as a good sign."

[YEA]  03/21/2010: Sarah from Milton Keynes, United Kingdom writes: "I really wanted to thank this site for sharing a herbal remedy to all health problems. I've been looking for an alternative remedy about abnormal menstruation and I end up in this site which is really amazing. I always have a normal period which lasted 3 days, but this last 2 years its getting longer that it even lasted for almost a month then just 2 or 3 days rest and here it goes again and with a very big clot as well. I end up anemic.. I tried so many herbal things like ACV but I cannot take it, maybe I am too acidic that when I took it I felt pain in my tummy...body can tell if it is not for you. Then I tried Blackstrap Molasses bought it for just £1.70 in a health shop in MK. At first I thought it will not work, though I like the taste bec. it is sweet. I took 1 tablespoon in the morning and again before bedtime..first 3 days nothing happen but I continued drinking it..little by little my period getting lesser and lesser..blood clot gone and at exactly one week my bleeding stopped!!! But of course it always comes with prayer. So why not try it, it really happened to me.. I thought people from this site is just exaggerating things. But I am a real and my experience is TRUE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!"

By the end of the first month my period regulated itself back to a 28-29 days cycle and my periods last 3-5 days with much less bleeding then before. I've been diagnosed with PCOS, other than that I have no diagnosed illnesses although I suspect a thyroid disorder even though the test comes back normal. I do not take any precription medication. Ever since I started my period at age 12, I've had horrible cramps that I have to treat with a lot of pain medication and a heating pad. The cramps have lasted a day or two and my period has lasted 3-4 days. I started taking 1 tbsp. a day of Plantation blackstrap molasses about 2 months ago after reading what great experiences other women have had in curing cramps. My experience has been terrible. Since I started on the molasses, my period has extended to 5 days with more severe cramping each day. I know that treatments don't work the same for each person, but I'm very curious as to why the molasses caused this reaction. Any ideas?"

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS]  03/01/2011: Kay from Atlanta, Ga replies: "I agree with the others. 1- Make sure you are using the Unsulphuredd BSM 2- Use 1 TBSP 2x a day in an 8 ounce bottle of water.

Everyone's body reacts differently but your reaction seems outside the norm.

I was experiencing sever "flooding" whch began 02.21.11 I read the reviews and began taking it in the morning 02.22.11 By 02.24.11, I had no cramps, flooding turned into a regular flow and the clotting disappeared.

I will say, an unexpected side effect was flatulance and loose stool, but that went away by the 6th day.

If you don't have high blood pressure, you may want to research usage of Golden Seal as well. But, I prefered the immediate results from the BSM.

Good luck to you."

It did not take away all the cramping but it has drastically reduced them to the point where I am taking a Midol occasionally during my period instead of eating Advil like candy. I think if I take 2 tablespoons each day the cramps may go away completely. I am also noticing that the Molasses in conjunction with another homeopathic seems to be lightening my flow. This is great news as I was contemplating going back on the pill just to get a lighter period again. I tried taking the Molasses everyday but it seemed to increase my acne so I am only taking it during my period. 2 months down and I am singing its praises!! Thanks to all on Earth Clinic who posted remedies and comments, it is extremely helpful."

[YEA]  11/12/2008: Nancy from Northern, IA writes: "At the end of August my menstrual cycle lasted 3 weeks and the flow was three times as heavyas normal. The Dr. said I had "huge" fibroids and an ovarian cyst on my right ovary. They said some of my options were a hysterectomy or trying birth control pills. I found earthclinic instead.

Thanks to the advice on earthclinic, I decided to try the molasses trick. Our grocery store didn't carry the blackstrap--so I thought I'd wait until I got somewhere that did. After only 1 week off--I got my cycle again. On the 2nd day it was abnormally heavy again--I thought --shoot, I'll try the regular stuff, and bought the regular molasses-mild and unsulphered. I took 1 TBSP.

Was it coincidence that it worked instantly? Was it conincidence that the cramping dissapeared? Was it conincidence that my next 2 cycles were right on schedule and back to normal? More importantly, was it coincidence that my follow up ultra-sound showed that the cyst had dissolved and the fibroids were now classified as large-rather than huge? I don't know--but for $2.50 per month (the cost of the bottle and how long it lasted) I will definately continue with taking 1 TBSP per day coincidence or not!!"

10/29/2008: KD from Cincinnati, Ohio writes: "I haven't tried the molasses remedy yet but I found it odd that for some reason I bought some Blackstrap Molasses at the store the other day without ever reading this site! I decided to use it in my baked beans last night. I wasn't sure that I liked it but it was a taste I could probably get used to. This evening I Googled a cure to slow down menstral bleeding and came upon this site. I was immediately drawn to the blackstrap molasses feedbacks. What a coincidence that I just happen to have some. I think the body must tell us what it needs if we listen to it. For some reason I bought ginger root too. When my mother was dying from cancer she kept asking for blueberries. One of the last things we did before she got sick was make blueberry jam. I know the body sometimes craves sugar and fat and things that are not good for it but if we listen to it, it will tell us the good things it needs as well. It was too late for my mom but her body was looking for something to fight the cancer with so she craved the blueberries. I believe there is something to learn from this in preventive measures to assist the body. I am going to try this blackstrap molasses and the ginger root and I will report back. I am so glad that I found all of these testimonies. It is very encouraging. Thank you!!!"

[NAY]  10/21/2008: Lori from northwest, Iowa writes: "I tried blackstrap molasses (the Brer' Rabbit brand) to try and lighten and shorten my periods. I took one tablespoon daily (in the morning), dissolved it in a little warm water, and topped off with 8 oz. of milk. I actually enjoy the taste, so keeping up with it was not a problem. When my period started, I took the aforementioned concoction twice a day (once in the morning and once at night). The first thing I noticed was that I began spotting. Not a lot, but faintly at least once each week between my periods. When my period started, it was heavier than normal. What is really strange is around the second day, all flow stopped, and I believed that the blackstrap was working. Then, a whole day passed without any flow, but by the next day, my period had returned with heavy flow again. I was really hoping that blackstrap would work for me. It seems that the other posters here had almost instantaneous results."

06/08/2010: Vee from Ft. Hood, Texas replies: "Is it possible to take both the blackstrap molasses and the ACV pills? I started the ACV pills about 2 weeks ago and I have been cramping bad for the past two days, causing me to believe it may not be working."

EC: Folks on this site generally report that they don't have much success with the ACV pills.

I have an older teen, and although she began menstruating at the age of 12, it was about 2 or 3 years before it became a "regular cycle." I, too, was concerned since I run just about like clockwork myself. But I did some reading on the subject, and it's very common, in fact, more normal than not. Really, I had forgotten that I, too, as a young teen didn't have a predictable cycle. Other than that, blackstrap molasses certainly shouldn't hurt your daughter, but it may not "regulate" her either-- just a growing thing, I think."

I have fibroids and bleed very heavily and my cycles last 10 days. I take a spoonful in hot water twice a day. For this July cycle, I did notice a decrease in the severity of the cramps I experience. But my flow is heavy as usual-nothing has changed there. I noticed another lady posted that her acne seemed to get worse on the molasses. It seems that is also the case with me. I am going to finish the bottle that I have and maybe decrease to only one spoonful a day to see if my acne gets better. I haven't been taking it that long, but I'm disappointed still the same..."
07/13/2010: Carly from Seattle, Wa Usa replies: "Hi Vee - What really helped my heavy (and I do mean HEAVY) flow was drinking apple cider vinegar throughout the day on the "bad" days. I put two tablespoons of ACV, a pinch (1/4 tsp) baking soda - add water and top it off with a little orange juice to taste. I drink it slowly, all day long. It really does work for me. I also have fibroids, and have had doctors offer more than once over the years to operate on me. I am so glad to have found this site, and the cures here! Best of luck to you. . . Carly"
07/14/2010: Vee from Ft. Hood, Texas replies: "I have been taking Apple Cider Vinegar pills since May, and I didn't notice a change at all and I am almost done with the bottle of pills. I didn't like the taste of just the Apple Cider Vinegar. I guess I'll try your suggestion, and decrease the amount of the blackstrap molasses I take. I really don't have anything to lose. My condition has worsened over the years & if this doesn't work, I've already decided to go ahead & have surgery."
08/10/2010: Stephanie from Douglasville, Georgia replies: "I too have, or I should say HAD, extremely heavy flow caused by a large fibroid. Severe cramps, multiple large clots, period on more than off, seemed like I was always 'on'. I even had an ablation (burn and scrape the lining of the uterus), was fine for about 4 months, which was also the healing period so my personal life was still disrupted and then the heavy periods came back, the huge clots, hours spent in the bathroom because the flow is so heavy you cant even leave the toilet. I was becoming anemic and my immune system droppped. I kept getting annoying illnesses because of this and finally a really bad staph infection and thats when I found earthclinic, Thank all the powers that be!!! I searched for staph infection cures and found turmeric (another miracle) That stuff WORKS! For the past month I have been looking up everything on this site and reading just random posts too, I wanted to respond to you because my next step was surgery too and I did not want to be cut on! I found out that Black Cohosh supports womens health so I added it to my morning supplements and since I have been taking it my periods have been less each month virtually no cramps and not one clot. I was on my cycle last month and missed taking it one morning and I passed a clot that afternoon, I have not missed a dose since and I have had excellent results. I bought the blackstrap for other health benefits and have not been taking it on a schedule so can't give any feedback on that except it tastes better than ACV! Oh and regarding the acne from the blackstrap, from all I am learning on this site and many others, acne is caused by bacteria and it seems a good body cleanse in addition to this and the other main remedies would balance things out. Maybe if you added just Ted's alkalyzing concotion of 1/4 tsp baking soda to 4 oz water, I think there are several formulas but bacteria cannot live in an alkaline environment and I cant swallow that nasty ACV hardly either. I have tried all the 'recipes' on here and it is still disgusting to me but I choke it down when I can because I know its good for me. I have heard applying it topically helps clear acne and vericose veins. I cleared my severe blackheads with a combination of coconut and pure viamin E oil. I also drink almond milk every day and it cleared up the bumps on my back and made my skin super soft all over, even my husband noticed! I guess I am just saying don't give up so fast, the answer could be on the next page and it would be so much better than going under the knife! Peace and health to you! Thanks to all the contributors, this site is more help than I have ever had to improve my health and I tell everyone about it (even strangers in the grocery store)!"
08/12/2010: Tehani from Los Angeles, Callifornia replies: "Chasteberry Extract, 100mg, 2capsules, 3 times per day. I started having heavy menstrual flow shortly after the birth of my first child. Mind you not, I use to flow 3 or 4 times per year which I was very happy with. I was flowing heavily with globs non stop for about 3&1/2 months wearing 6-7 overnight pads per day. I kept going to my doctor and all he would script was different hormone pill, that kept making me gain weight. I prayed a lot and God answered my prayers. I went to my local health food store and explained to a female worker my non stop bleeding menstrual problem. I asked if she can recommend something for me to take. She said, yeah a customer told me that she tried this herb and it worked for her. I was DESPERATE and I bought it, the cheapest brand available in the store (nothing fancy). The directions said to take 2 pills 2 times a day (morning & night), I added an extra dose in the afternoon & took it 3 times a day. Upon the third day of taking this herb, my period stopped completely. I was praising God with joy and excitement. So a week before I'm about to have my cycle, I would start taking it following the directions on the bottle 2 pills 2 times/day. It would lessen my flow to 3 days(non heavy flow). In my opinion you don't have to buy the standardized one because it cost a lot more. Just buy the regular one, it will do the job just fine."
[YEA]  08/19/2010: Chole from Redondo Beach, Ca replies: "I went to the my local vitamin store & bought a chasteberry herb 400mg 100/capsules. I took 2 capsules 3/day just like you suggested, and it stopped my heavy flow within 2 days. Thanks for the tip, this site is truly heaven sent. I'll try taking it before my period starts on my next cycle, to see if it helps lessen my flow. It spared me from surgery. I Googled chasteberry and found out that it is in charge of normalizing the pituitary gland, which regulates the balance of estrogen and progesterone in the body. From Heavy flow to rarely having a period, almost All of the symptoms associated with MENSTRUAL cycle can be treated with this plant."

I am a 27 year old woman and I have been taking ibuprofen since I was about 15 for period cramps. I believe that you are right in that ibuprofen has something to do with my acid reflux. When I first started taking it I was younger and my body was a lot more youthful. But as I have gotten older the attack that ibuprofen has had on my body over the years has started to weaken its defenses. I am going to stop taking it but does anyone have any suggestions as what I can take for painful period cramps that won't irritate my acid reflux or cause another sympton to come up?"

Hey, if you want my opinion, and want to see what others have said too, look up the wonders of molasses on this site. It seems to be helping lots of people including myself with very painful menstral cramps. (1-2 T. full a day is what I've read.) Much as I'm sure the birth control pills would probably work, they too are a drug! They mess with the delacate hormone balance and tend to cause estrogen dominance, leading to mood and other physical problems. Not to mention, if you're like me and want more "blessings from above", that is a really bad suggestion. No offense to the person who said it, but it just may not be for everyone."
