<description>[YEA] Noel from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan writes: "I had my period for a month straight... Getting heavier as time went on. I looked on this site and decided to give molasses a try. I took a teaspoon in the morning afternoon and night. I'm not too sure if it was the molasses or the shephard's purse or their combined effect, but I'm all done!! It didn't work right away.. I had to take it for about 4-5 days before anything happened, and it wasn't until I made an infusion of the shepherd's purse instead of just drinking it as a tea that my period stopped completely. So I would recommend to anyone to look into shepherd's purse if the molasses doesn't work right away. (there's lot's of info if you google it)

<description> Serena from Palm Springs, Ca writes: "Hello,

I have recently started using the birth control pill, and the first month, I got my period after only 19 days even though I was still on the hormone pills. It lasted for about 6 days, and by the time I started the sugar pills I had nothing... No spotting, no period. I am afraid that will happen again this month (I start the neck pack tomorrow, which will be day 1), and I really don't want to get my period, have spotting, or any breakthrough bleeding until its time.

I have heard that Yarrow tincture or Wild Yam tincture can help with this. I also read that Cayenne pepper and Vitamin C can also help. Has anyone had any success with any of these? Any other suggestions?

I am going out of tow. In 2 weeks and reallyyyyyy don't want to eat with any "surprises". Thanks in adavnce!

<description>[YEA] Krista from Sherman, Ny writes: "I just wanted to thank those of you that have posted their experience with using ACV for prolonged periods and earthclinic.com for providing this site. I missed my period for two months. When it came it lasted for nine weeks. It flowed through tampons and pads. I could not leave my home for fear I would leak through. I also had very large clots. My doctor did a sonogram and said nothing was wrong so she scheduled an appointment for a gyn. I was sick of bleeding so heavy. I was getting exausted and anemic from the blood loss.

So, I decided to find a home remedy for the problem. That's when I found this site. I thought I need to try this. I mixed one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 8 oz. of water and drank it two times a day. My period completed stopped in a day and a half. I have cut back to once a day but the bleeding did not come back yet. I am very happy that I didn't have to spend lots of money and go through unnecessary medical procedures to stop it. I wish doctors would share this kind of information. Thanks again earthclinic.

<description> Shelly from San Antonio, Tx, Usa writes: "I have always had a 5 day period with 1 day being really heavy. The past couple of months the 1 heavy day has become 2-3 heavy days &amp; my period now lasts about 7 days, I have the same cramps that I've always had (I'm 42), I have scoliosis so I'm used to having some back pain - but the pain is now major. On my heavy days, I go through a super plus tampon about every 30 mins and have to wear a pad with the tampon to be safe. I was told last week that I have multiple fibroids &amp; a cyst on one of my ovaries.

My doc is recommending taking out my uterus, I've never been pregnant &amp; don't see that happening, so taking out my uterus would not matter much except that I'm single, live alone, and work 2 jobs (6 days a week) &amp; I don't see how it would be at all possible for me to be off from work for 4 weeks and not have any money coming in. So I'm going to try ACV, birth control, iron supplements, along with B-12 and a serious change in diet. My question is this - I have noticed that I sometimes get dizzy or light headed a few times a day. I have been off my period for about a week. Is the dizzy feeling normal? Any ideas?

<description>[YEA] Cece from Elmont, New York writes: "Menstrual pain became so severe for me that I wished I did not have a period. The pain would hit me so hard that I felt nauseated. One day at work, out of sheer desperation I went into the bathroom, wet a wad of paper towel under hot water, went into the stall and sat with that hot towel clenched on my belly button. I sat there and suddenly - splat! - I looked down and a fat blob of curdled blood looked up at me - and the pain was gone! I started examining what I ate via a journal and realized that things such as cheese, white bread (margarine), beef and alcohol cause me distress when it came around to my menses. I theorized that it was the food I was eating that caused a problem with circulation. I stopped eating all forms of dairy, started drinking lots of room temperature water.

When it was time for my menses, I drank lots of plain room temperature coconut water with a dash of cayenne pepper. That put an end to the debilitating pain! I've passed on the remedy to all my friends. Even if you don't practice good eating habits, when that pain hits, reach for the room temperature coconut water with a dash of cayenne pepper! IT WORKS in half an hour! If you don't have coconut water (no cans, please), use semi contra tea aka mexican tea, american wormwood, epazote with a dash of cayenne.

<description> Vanessa from St Louis, Mo writes: "I was diagnosed at 17 with PCOS and have gone over a year at times with no period (amenorrhea). I am now in my 30's and have no children, although married over 5 years. I actually started taking a magnesium supplement after reading that it might help with restless leg syndrome. The second day after taking it, I began menstruating. It did not seem to help with the RLS, however, so I stopped taking it. After a while of again having no period, I decided to take magnesium and see if it would bring on menstruation again. It DID. I have continued to take magnesium for about a year in the same fashion when I haven't had a period in a couple of months and it brings one on EVERY TIME. I have found NOTHING written online about magnesium being a cure for amenorrhea and find it very hard to believe that nobody else has ever discovered this. Has anyone else ever heard about a connection there? (And I have only been taking the run of the mill drug store magnesium oxide! After reading on this site, I will be trying a more absorbable version and take it much more often and see if that helps with the RLS. ) Also, if magnesium can bring on menstruation; maybe it can help with fertility? Could it be possible that my problems have just been a magnesium deficiency this whole time?! What do you think?

<description>[YEA] Katherine from Seattle, Wa writes: "My mom used to have incredibly heavy menstruation and she used cod liver oil, but in the liquid form because she was taking so much.

The heavy menstruation was caused by uterine fibroids, but I imagine this would work with other causes, too.

She was taking usually about 3 tablespoons per day, but at one point took 5 tablespoons. This was when it was REALLY bad. Just keep in mind, however, that this is a little hard on your liver. You may feel very low on energy shortly after taking this much CLO because your liver is trying to process it. She really found this to be true when she took the 5 tbs.

The CLO worked really quickly, and she also lost weight while using the oil.

<description>[YEA] L. G. from Minneapolis, Mn, Usa writes: "I have known for quite some time that my menstrual cramps are worse on an empty stomach/when my blood sugar is low. I also tend to have low-to-medium grade (I've never actually vomited from cramps) nausea, extremely low energy and a complete lack of appetite during the worst of my heavy bleeding/cramping. All of this is exacerbated by hot, humid weather (Hello July in Minnesota! ) which has sometimes made me completely unwilling to stand or sit upright as all of the muscles in my back and legs throb and tremble in sympathy with my contracting uterus. One memorable August morning 5 years ago I was making breakfast for guests when, in the middle of scrambling eggs, I was forced to go back to bed because the pressure of my HEELS AGAINST THE FLOOR, along with the above symptoms, caused such agony that I thought I was going to pass out. Explaining that was fun.

I usually try to "get on top" of my symptoms by forcing myself to eat something simple like toast or a banana when I first wake up so that I can take 3 ibuprofen, wait 45 minutes or more for blessed relief, and spend the rest of the day trying to keep enough painkiller in my system to function. And also remember to eat because I have no appetite and an empty stomach makes me nauseous and increases the cramping pain- even if I'm on painkillers. I'm not at all happy about all the pills I take just to cope, but who can afford to check out of their life for 2-3 days a month?

And now the important part of my story: Today is a typical hot and humid summer day in MN and it is the first day of my period (yay?) I wake up with cramps, nausea, headache, irritability and aching, trembling back and leg muscles. After staggering around for a while and whimpering, I remember that I have a new bottle of turmeric and didn't I read something about it getting rid of cramps? I quickly mix a heaping 1/2 tsp with a cup or so of warm water and drink it down. (It did not taste bad at all! It kind of tasted like how crushed dandelion stems smell. ) At this point I have not eaten yet or even had a glass of water. After TWO MINUTES, I feel a wave of well-being wash over my body and then, suddenly I realize that ALL OF MY SYMPTOMS ARE GONE. At this point, I am completely giddy with disbelief and relief.

The pain and other symptoms DO began to return again after about 40 minutes. I still hadn't eaten anything, so I quickly fix a little left-over spaghetti with some extra olive oil (turmeric is fat soluble), drink down another dose (1/2 tsp in warm water) as I'm eating and it's now been 4 hours with out any symptoms.

I'm impressed with how quickly this works (on an empty stomach) and the nausea relief is incredible! I wonder if turmeric would help women with morning sickness and anyone else who suffers with nausea and lack of appetite?
