[YEA]  11/30/2007: Michelle Lentz from Pittsburgh, PA: "I was doing a lil research after days of having pain with my kidney stones and no pain killer was helping. And I read a blog/article saying to try Dill Pickle Juice. Well I did and believe it or not it worked. But I have been thinking about taking Apple Cider Vinegar for a few other problems that I have so this should help with the stones as well since the vinegar will desolve them the same way. Kill a FEW birds with one shot. lol"

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  06/26/2009: Tony from Henderson, Nevada, USA: "For all people who have ended up in the hospital with their stones, and received regular pain killers such as vicoden when they go home....THEY DON'T WORK FOR THAT KIND OF PAIN!. Tordol is a NSAID which is similar to ibuprophen, and it is a smooth muscle relaxent. Your ureter is controlled by smooth muscle. The muscles relaxes, the pressure on the stone is released, and the pain goes away. Not only that but the stone can then move more easily. The first thing I get when I go to the ER is a shot of Tordol. Then I get something for the nausea. Anyway, this drug is available in pill form and in generic. You can't get a lot of it cause its hard on the stomach and can be hard on the kidneys if you have kidney disease, but it works better for me than any narcotic ever has. But you usually don't need more than a few days worth anyway. I worked 5 hours on my feet with a 3 x 4 x 5mm stone lodged in my left ureter. just 2 days ago, but thanks to my script and a doctor who listens to me, it was tolerable. And the little sucker popped out last night, big as can be. Biggest i've ever passed. So forget the worthless narcotics and ask for a script of something that actually works. And again it has a generic so it is pretty cheap. Anyway, good luck. and quit suffering with the pain."

Raw Milk

05/19/2011: James from Atlanta, Ga.: "You cannot use Calcium or fat in milk products that come pasteurized from the store because the enzymes are killed in the boiling.. That mean you will not be able to use the calcium.. This boiling also keeps the fat from milk products stuck in your heart.... Clean Raw milk that is not killed with pasteurization would solve most of your calcium needs...."

10/03/2012: Brandy from Madison, Wi: "My kidney stone are from drinking too much Pepsi and not enough water, I was just told I have several small stones and two large stones 7mm. What remedy would work best for my stones? I DO NOT want to have surgery or this sonic wave thing done."

01/16/2013: John from Prescott replies: "They have stuff at natural food stores called Chanca Piedra that works sometimes. One that big will not pass on its own try the above full strengh for two weeks if not out do the sonic the surgery is worse than the stone. The sonic way isn't bad you will get a bruise and it will hurt on that spot. If you do nothing your kidney could shut down and you will have to have it removed."

06/26/2012: Dianne from Fort Mohave, Arizona, Usa: "Hello, I have been dealing with kidney stones for 15 years. After the lithotripsy on the first one in 1997, I vowed never to go thru that again so I researched herbs and was able to successfully manage my kidney stones (about one a year) for 13 years using hydrangea herb. But about 2 years ago, the herb stopped working for me. The kidney stone pains started coming on every 4-6 weeks. I would feel pain, and then get fever and chills and be bedridden for 3-4 days at a time.

I finally decided to get a CT scan and find out how many I have and where they are with every intent of coming home and drinking gallons of ACV to get rid of them. But when I had a CT scan 3 weeks ago, my plan was foiled. My scan showed approx 1 cm stone in the right ureter which was blocking kidney function for the right kidney. Also the scan showed 2 large stones in left kidney, one at 1.2 cm and one at 1.74 cm. There was no way I could deal with those on my own.

I was admitted into emergency to save the right kidney. Surgeon pushed the stone in the ureter back up into the kidney and did lithotripsy. I have had a stint for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks, I stopped seeing the sand-like granules. But a few days ago my right kidney seems to be inflamed. It is achy on the right side and I'm concerned that the kidney is not doing well. I take Cipro and Pyridium daily.

The possibility of dialysis and/or kidney failure scares me. I am scheduled to go back tomorrow for them to do lithotripsy on the left kidney. I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure and am otherwise healthy. The doctors have yet to tell me what kind of stones I have or why they keep coming. What can I do to help repair my damaged kidney on the right side and keep from having dialysis or loss of kidney?"

12/12/2011: Thomas from Pune, India: "I am having calcium phosphate stones in my kidneys. I use potassium citrate tablet recommended by doctor. Could you please suggest me a home remedies to dissolve or passing them? Can you suggest me a good diet please?"

12/13/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "You need to add magnesium to your diet. Please read 'The Magnesium Miracle' by Carolyn Dean."

11/21/2011: Jim from La Pine, Oregon: "I keep reading about how wonderful lemon juice is in disolving Calcium type kidney stones. I have been drinking a light mixture of such for over a month now. Question I have is: why don't any of the Doctors in the field mention this wonderful "stone Killer" mixture???

I passed over 48 stones in April, 2011, I immediately began taking all kinds of " home remedies" to dissolve stones, and just had another bout passing over 24 stones, so far.

Does anyone have a REAL " prescription" to dissolving calcium stones or not???

Thank you, sorry to be grumpy but those of you who have had the pain should understand!!"

11/22/2011: Jen from Bozeman, Mt, Us replies: "You can try either Chanca Piedra (stone breaker) or Horsetail which always works on my husband. It is alot easier to give you a good answer if we knew what kind of stones you are producing. Are they infection stones (lots of infections), cystine stones (very rare), calcium/phosphate stones, or uric acid stones. Uric acid stones would be helped by lemon, vit c, ACV etc... But if you have calcium stones you may have a magnesium to calcium imbalance. You might try taking magnesium supplements to help balance the calcium and phosphate you are ingesting daily. Infection stones would be much more difficult to treat. You want to get to the bottom of the infection first then treat the cause of that. Things that would help get rid of infections are the alkalizing remedy from Ted, potassium iodide or lugals iodine, lysine, and vit c. I am not sure what helps with cystine stones as they are very rare. I hope this helps."
11/22/2011: Jen from Bozeman, Mt, Us replies: "I forgot to mention that you will find most doctors don't know squat about homeopathic remedies because they don't get endorsements from them:)"
12/16/2011: Lou from Tyler, Tx replies: "I believe I read on here about putting apple cider (the drink) in a crock pot with nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon to taste. Heat it up until hot. Drink it for a couple of days (reheat). It removed a keloid scar on my c-section. Never had pains in my back again either. I suspect it was kidney stones. They come out like gravel in your urine."
12/17/2011: Timh from Louisville, Usa replies: "Also for "dissolving", the herb Chanca Piedra is suppose to be very effective. For the "passing", there's the Watermelon and Bath remedy that is said to effectively and painlessly "pass" K stones. Eat one large Watermelon in one act. Pour one hot tub of water and soak for thirty min.

For prevention, use Magnesium in whatever form daily, and 1 grm Taurine twice daily. The herb Marshmallow lubricates the kidneys thus restoring proper function."

08/10/2011: Frances Seaton from Highlands Ranch, Co/usa: "I spent several days using holistic, herbal remedies to try and flush the stone that was plaguing me. I ended up in the emergency room Monday August 8th. After a week of doing everything imaginable. The stone was 8mm*10mm and far to big to pass. I ended up having it laser blasted. I have elevated parathyroid and take copious amounts of Vit D. Despite this, I developed this huge stone.. I do not eat red meat, do not drink sodas or caffeine. What else do I need to do to stop this from happening again.. This is my second time for needing it blasted. Help! Fran"

08/10/2011: Liz from Boston, Massachusetts replies: "Fran - Lots and lots of water every day. Have as little dairy as you can, and avoid things like peanuts and chocolate. Supplement with a good strong dose of Vitamin C each day (either ascorbic or citric acid), as it creates an environment where the stone will dissolve before it's even big enough to cause a problem. All best."

02/14/2011: Ed from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada: "Message for Ted.

I have kidney stone and my blood pressure is erratic which come up to 155/95 from 137/82 every now and then.

I'm suffering chronic back pain due to this kidney stone. I already went through with Litothripsy, but still there is a small stone left which has not been washed out from my system. I read that having kidney stone that the urine is alkaline so I need to made it acidic to melt the stone away. But your treatment for high blood pressure is more into alkalinezation.

Hope you can assist me on his dilemma.

02/15/2011: Mchastn from Nashville, Tn, Usa replies: "My son had kidney stones and was in severe pain with nausea. I searched the net and kept coming across lemonade with potassium citrate to help smooth the jagged stones so they will get smaller and pass. I found potassium citrate in crystal light natural limonade. He guzzled it. It took 6 excruciating days and then he passed the pea size rock. He also drank applejuice and water. The only positive thing that came from his kidney stone was, he lost 20 pounds. Hope this helps. My Mom also had kidney stones and wouldnt follow my advice and had the breaking up treatment like you. It worked but she was in pain while some of the little pieces had to pass out in a few days."
02/16/2011: Debbie S. from Boynton Beach, Fl replies: "A family member of mine had severe kidney stones. Doing research and speaking the doctor kidney stones are made from something excessive in body. For Example my family members kidney stones were formed as they drank lots of tea. One of the main things you must do is drink lots of water every day. The water flushes the stones from forming. Good luck..."
