WARNING!

[WARNING!]  07/01/2008: David writes: "Kidney Stones - WARNING!
Another valid reason for starting the COKE remedy early in the day is so you'll make it home from the ER in time to sleep in your own bed. I tried the remedy as discussed on MANY web sites (2 liters of coke over 2 hours, followed by asparagus puree, followed by 2 liters of water of 2 hours). Ended up throwing my electrolytes out of balance- and THAT is some VERY freaky bizness! (Look up hyponatremia!) Won't bore you with the details, but do be careful!!!
PS:- still have the stones"

[YEA]  05/06/2007: Scott from Coatesville, PA writes: "Having read these testimonials, I'm strongly considering trying this soon, although my stones (yes, plural) are calcium oxylate, and there seems to be some question about the effectiveness of this remedy for those types of stones. Further internet research suggests that corn silk tea, and possibly marshmallow herb or another ingredient may be effective for these types of stones. Is anyone familiar with this, and knows how to go about it?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Scott: If the body was properly alkaline, the oxalic acid would not enter the bloodstream as the intestines would neutralize the oxalic acid and get neutralized then and there and goes out the bowels. If the oxalic acid goes into the blood stream without sufficient bicarbonate, the oxalic acid will react with the calcium in the blood plasma and this tends to accumulate in the kidney forming kidney stones. Most herbs are generally effective via its ability to cause diuretic, but in some cases are not alkaline enough to prevent oxalic acid form forming. Eating foods high in oxalic acid may also worsen the condition, such as oxalic rich foods found in peanuts, beans, chocolate, for instance. Vitamin C sodium ascorbate tends to neutralize the oxalic acid, and so does vitamin B complex. Baking soda is still the most important element so that it will prevent the body form absorbing the oxalic acid by forming sodium oxalate, which are generally less reactive to the calcium to form calcium oxalate. Most people who have kidney stones, do not generally eat fruits and citric acid contents in the fruits generally will prevent oxalic acid from forming into calcium oxalate also."
01/31/2011: Anna from Houston, Texas replies: "Hello Ted,

I have just read a low oxalate diet, and it says not to have acidic fruits like oranges and such, so I am not understanding how to prevent my kidney stones thru diet. Please help, I have had hyperparathyroism, had surgery over 10 yrs ago, now the stones have returned witha vengence."

THE PAIN WAS NOT THAT BAD AFTER THE FIRST DAY. THE REMEDIES I USED WAS A COMBO OF THINGS. I MIXED ABOUT 2 TBSP OF CREAM OF TARTAR WITH WATER AND SUGAR TO TASTE- MIXED WELL AND DRANK 2 WATER BOTTLES. I ALSO TRIED THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. THEN AT NIGHT AFTER DINNER, I DRINK A BEER. THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE YEAST THAT FLUSHES THE STONE OUT FAST. AFTER THE THIRD NIGHT OF PAIN IS WHEN I TRIED THE BEER AND WATERMELON. THE NEXT MORNING AT 2:30 A.M. I PASSED MY STONE WITH NO PAIN. THAT WAS ON A TUESDAY MORNING. THE THIS PAST SUNDAY NIGHT, I STARTED AGAIN WITH THE PAIN. THE NEXT MORNING I STARTED THE CREAM OF TARTAR AND AT NIGHT THE BEER. I DID THAT ALL DAY MONDAY AND THIS MORNING- TUESDAY I PASSED THE BIGGEST STONE I HAVE EVER PASSED IN THE 7 YRS. OF CONSTANT STONES. I HAVE NEVER REALLY GOT A GOOD REASON FOR THE FORMING OF STONES IN MY BODY, THE ONLY THING I KNOW IS THAT THEY ARE CALCIUM STONES. I HAVE ALSO TRIED THE OLIVE OIL AND GRAPEFRUIT JUICE, THAT DOESNT REALLY WORK, BUT NEVER TRIED IT WITH LEMON JUICE WHICH MAKES MORE SENSE."

DIAGNOSING A VITAMIN C DEFICIENCY

03/23/2005: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Kidney stone and gallstone may be related if we are talking about vitamin C deficiency. There is a much easier way (possibility) of testing what kinds of stones you have at your home and deciding which remedies will be best for you. The methodology is quite primitive, and it is just an intellectual guess. However, if you want to try it out here it is:

This can easily be done by collecting a cup of urine sample and, quite obviously, when you do have stones or developing them there is a good chance it will be cloudy. Separate them in different cups and try adding first cup with vitamin C, Second cup, you can reserve this and test for urine conductivity and sugar in your urine using a Brix (as shown in the pH - the scoop section) If your urine clears up, in first cup then you know it is calcium phosphate. There is an imbalance of calcium:phosphate. This can be corrected by adding magnesium, boron, and possibility of determine whether your diet is more or less calcium.

In practice this is from excess dietary phosphorous which comes from meats and soft drinks. For the second cup which you test for sugar and conductivity. It means the possibility of stones to form from excess sugar if your sugar levels are much higher than normal. If the conductivity is excessive, it means your stones will form from lack of drinking water. Of course, testing your pH for your urine and if it is too low (below 6) or too high (above 7.0) then you know that stones exists because of pH imbalances. These are just rough guesses. Acid urine might mean you are taking too much meat. Alkaline urine means you are taking too much vegetables. A cloudy urine could also mean vitamin deficiency. If you take a multivitamin day one and day two you have clearer urine, then stones are avoided.

If it does not clear up and you take vitamin B complex and your urine clears up it means you have vitamin B deficiency. On the other hand if you have gout, then it is obvious you have uric acid problem which can be alleviated by taking small amounts of lithium in water about 2-5 mg/day to dissolve that. Sodium bicarbonate might help but it is obvious that taking more water and eating less meat will be most helpful.

There are many causes of kidney stones depending on the types of stones.

1. Calcium oxalate does not dissolve in acid urine, but might be helpful in prevention through more alkaline urine. However, once formed, they are impossible to dissolve. This is not common in humans, but dogs are very susceptible. Oxalates are common in spinach and rhubarb. However, diets rich in oxalates are much to be desired in case of viral diseases or cancer as oxalic acid have anticancer properties. The mysterious anticancer drugs of Doctor Koch, glyoxylide is actually a form of oxalic acid, commonly referred to as glyoxylic acid (oxalacetic acid). There is in fact three U.S. patents that deal with diets rich in oxalic acid in dealing vascular, cancer and AIDS. There is a possibility of dissolving calcium oxalate. This one exception could be disodium EDTA and sodium bicarbonate (which is alkaline). In practice, if calcium oxalate is formed using Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) is the most common practice by breaking the stones with the use of shockwave."

QUESTION

[QUESTION]  10/25/2009: Arlene from Post Falls, Idaho, USA writes: "Kidney Stones, Hip Pain

Could discomfort around right hip area possibly be kidney stones. Right now I'm using D-Mannose for a kidney infection. Thank you."

Replies
10/25/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "Hello Arlene,

Pain predominantly in the right hip area is not typical for kidney stones, but all people aren't wired quite the same, thus we have what is medically termed "referred pain", meaning the pain occurs somewhere other than the typical area. My classic example of explaining what "referred pain" means is my daughter and what I call "brain freeze" while eating ice cream. Most people (me included) describe this pain as being mostly from the palate (roof of mouth) up through the brain. My daughter always goes "ooh", and puts a finger up to press on her left chest area until it stops hurting. When I finally figured out what was going on with her, I laughed as I told her "If you ever get a severe headache, go to the ER and request that they run an ECG to rule out a heart attack, because some of your wiring got misdirected". A female co-worker went into ER with complaint of severe pain in her knee and wound up with a coronary artery bypass operation. When talking with her after her return to work, she denied ever having any chest, arm, neck or jaw pain which is typical of heart problems. Neither did she mention having shortness of breath which is said to more typical for females with heart problems.

Most people with kidney stones usually complain of abdominal pain initially, and since most of us are born with two kidneys, the pain can vary depending on which kidney/ureter harbors the villain. Most people I have seen with kidney
stones complain of severe pain (textbooks equate the pain of kidney stones with that of having a baby), but one man did mention that it seemed to start in his lower abdomen but travelled all the way down into his scrotum, but don't recall anyone complaining that it began in a hip joint. Kidney stones are painless until they start moving or cause obstruction of the kidney or ureter.

Another symptom of kidney stones you didn't mention is a pink or reddish tinge to your urine that often accompanies the renal colic is caused by the moving stone causing bleeding from the kidney, ureter, or urethra.

Kidney infection can sneak up on you and get you pretty run down before you realize anything is wrong because it is usually painless initially. Pain in the kidney itself is usually described as starting higher in the abdomen.

You might want to try the lemon juice/EV olive oil remedy for kidney stones that frequently get yeas from the EC family participants. Don't think it would create any harm whether it's a kidney stone or not."

EL SALVADOR REMEDY

[YEA]  07/18/2009: Julie from Fort Smith, Arkansas writes: "My husband was recently suffering from a kidney stone. The doctor said it was 5mm and needed to be removed via surgery. It had been stuck between his kidney and bladder for two weeks. He only suffered pain on two of those days, but when he did it was very intense.

In an effort to avoid sugery, and the cost associated with it, we turned to home remedies. First we tried the 2 oz. olive oil with 2 oz. lime juice. He took this about 3 or 4 times a day for two days. On the third day we added a mixture of 2 tbls. of olive oil, the juice of a 1 inch piece of fresh aloe, and 4 or 5 chunks of fresh pineapple. We blended it together and he drank it twice a day. This is a remedy his mother suggested that is used in her native country, El Salvador.

On the third day of using the olive oil and lime juice, and just one day after starting the Salvadorean home remedy, my husband passed his stone without pain. It was just like the other people on this website reported. We couldn't be happier with the outcome!"

GENERAL FEEDBACK

12/26/2011: Nicky from Tauranga, New Zealand writes: "Hi I started with a sore back on my left side on Christmas day then started feeling cold all though my body was hot. I woke up the next day with pain on the same side but not my back it was under my ribcage. I also had a headache and a fever. My friend said it could be kidney stones. I went to bed that night and sweated so much that I had to change my tshirt twice. So when I woke up today still feeling like rubbish and sore under my ribcage I looked on the net for natural remedies and found your site. I've take 2oz of olive oil and 2oz of lemon. How long will it take to my fever and pain to go? And do I still need to go see a Dr as I haven't yet? Thanks."

I can't be certain that it was stones, but from other testimonials, it matched the describing of pain others have had with the issue. I can't afford a huge medical bill, so I've been trying to resolve it myself with ACV and cranberry juice. I went from excruciating pain down to just mild dull pain in my lower back, and then no pain at all. I was amazed with the hasty relief I got. And then I made the fateful mistake of drinking wine after that and except for the sharp pain, everything started all over again. Can someone advise me as to whether this could be yet another kidney stone? Also, I've been monitoring the color of my urine, and after lots of water and ACV/cranberry juice, it is a healthy color (the color of straw), however, although the my urine is mostly clear and not cloudy, there are tiny dandruff-like materials floating in it? Is this the broken down kidney stone residue? I would greatly appreciate what others have to say on this matter. I LOVE this site and have learned SO much in just 2 short weeks. Your comments would be so appreciated."

Since then I found out I have Polycystic kidney disease and these cysts are also in my liver. Last CT scan I had showed a 6.5 mm stone right side and 10mm in right kidney. The VA Urologists scheduled a cysto. Then he said he'd use stents and laser and remove one at a time leaving the stent in for a week for ureter to heal. He said avoid alchol as far as beer goes and drink enough water to void at lest 2 liters of fluid out a day. What he didnt say is that if you also have polycystic kidney diesese you need to eat a lower salt, lower fat, lower protein diet. It goes without saying you also shouldn't smoke. Try to lose some weight and drink lemonaid instead of OJ and he said cranberry juice isnt all that great for most stones. Milk as I'm peri menopausal or calcium is a must but he is guessing as to which type of stones I actually have. He says since there's blood in my urine and I have a history of smoking that he wants to check the bladder first before moving forward with stone removal to make sure I dont have bladder cancer. The dumbass! If I know I have PKD polycystic kidneys and the cysts burst and I have stones in each kidney where the hell does he expect me to have blood other than in my urine FFS. Anyways I've been a LPN for over 20 years and the more I know about the medical profession the less I trust meds or MDs.

After this I'm demanding a 24 hour urine and blood work so I can determine what my PH levels and composite make up of my urine and blood. Whatever is too high is the things I personally need to avoid. I hope to get these stones out fast. After I get rid of these big ones I paln to use apple juice every day and the lemon and olive oil mix as a preventative at least 2-3 times a week and see if that helps keep them away."

I used Chanca Piedra as well as a herb called Tinospora cordifolia or Heavenly Elixir, also known as Heart Vine, on a Filipino friend who had both kidney stones and diabetes. This combination, as a decoction, worked well and his stones and the pain went in about a month and a half and half and he was also able to reduce his diabetes meds.

But Chanca piedra is the one to use for removing both gallstones or kidney stones. During my recovery from candida, while taking Chanca piedra on a daily basis as a decoction several times a day, every day, all my own gallstones(which I didn't know I had) were safely expelled over a few months which was a great surprise.

Chanca piedra isn't called "Stonebreaker" for no reason.

It's probably best to take Chanca piedra as a tea several times a day, every day, for full effect. But the herb capsules should work just as well -- 1000 mg Chanca piedra three times a day with meals."

QUESTION

[QUESTION]  08/22/2009: Chili from Cadillac, Mi, 49601 writes: "VERY LARGE / ALKALINE STONES

I am hoping someone can give me some advise. I was diagnosed with two kidney stones in my left ureter. One 5mm and one 6mm. These may or may not have passed already. I also have one stone in my left kidney that is 8x11mm and several others in my left kidney that are between 3mm and 5mm. And one in my right kidney that is 7mm. I am told these are too big to pass and am scheduled for lithotripsey in 6 days.

I've been doing an herbal kidney dissolving routine, and herbal kidney cleanse. I do not know if it is working or not. I feel discomfort but no pain yet. (although I had horrendous pain when I think I passed the two in the ureter).

I saw a chemist the other day who checked my urine and saliva and said I am too alkaline and that the stones I have are "alkaline". I have not heard of this.

So, I have two questions:

One: Is it possible to dissolve stones this big, or do you think I need the surgery?

TWO: Is it likely they are alkaline, and if so, what would dissolve them?

We have hard water , so I assumed they are calcium stones.......but of course I don't know. I have never passed stones before. OH, Also, I have mudullary sponge kidneys, so I have been told that with that type of kidneys, I will make stones, because the urine cannot fully get out of the kidney and it will collect in the pockets and make stones.

Any advise would be SO appreciated! I'm feeling desperate and panicky to save my kidneys!!! (I also have stones in my liver........gallbladder is removed.)
Thank you."

08/23/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "For Chili from Cadillac, Mi:

Whew, Chili,

Sounds like you could start your own rock quarry! Composition of kidney stones is usually determined by examining the stone, not the body pH. But since I am assuming that these stones showed up on xrays, we can eliminate uric acid stones because these usually don't show on xrays.

I am not a urologist but I think if were in your shoes, I would definitely be found trying the extra virgin olive oil/lemon juice mixture at least daily to see if you can pass them before they blast them with lithotrypsy. They probably gave you a little strainer to check for passage of the stones in the ureters. If so continue using them and if you catch one of those disgustingly painful-passage stones, carry it in to be analyzed on your doctor visit. I have never had renal stones that I know of, so have never needed to check this easy remedy out, but you can easily find the how to use it on EC because I have read many yeas on EC for this remedy and can only recall one nay on it.

Considering it is apparently so effective (many of those yeas came from happy campers who could not believe they passed stones so easily and relatively painlessly after using orthodox methods before) and so cheap and so safe, I would definitely be found trying it and if it works with your history, I would keep them cleared by continuing to take the EV olive oil/lemon juice remedy every other day or so.

Lots of luck and keep us posted!"

HOT BATHS

WORKED TEMPORARILY

[WORKED TEMPORARILY]  10/06/2008: David from Vancouver, BC, Canada writes: "Hi Everyone. I just found this site and I'm amazed by the wealth of information. I have suffered from Kidney Stones since 1985. I have had 18 stones over this time and according to the latest CT scans, I have 2 in the Left at 1cm or larger and 1 in the Rigth at about 50mm. The one in the Right is now trying to make its passage and the pain yesterday was very bad. I spent most of the day using my pain remedy of a hot bath and a case of beer. I think this one is stuck.

I have almost always passed them with the exception of 1 that was too large and caused a blockage in the Ureter of my right kidney. They have almost always been extremely painful events. Here in BC the only therapies that the Hospitals have provided are Lithotripter, Demerol and Morphine when in Hospital and Tylonol 3 when I'm at home. When I had my first kidneystone making its way through the Ureter, I was already in the bathtub and was feeling some pain. When I got out the pain was so bad that all I could think about was the warmth of the bath which was providing a tremendous amount of relief. Over the years, I have passed most of my stones without any pain killers by sitting in the hot bath tub for hours on end reading books and magazines with a case of beer or a water bottle beside me. When I would go to the Hospital, all that would happen was: 1) wait 1/2 hour to 3 hours in the emergency waiting room until I vomited from the pain 2) wait in the ER for 5-10 hours with Gravol for stomach, a strainer for my urine and nothing for pain until the x-ray with die shows that yes I do have a kidney stone 3) wait 2-4 hours for a doctor to finally prescribe some pain killers, usually Demerol, and maybe to start a saline solution 4) wait in ER for another 12-24 hours until I can get a bed in the Hospital and on the waiting list for emergency Lithotripter. 5) wait 2-3 days in Hospital Bed until they decide that I'm not going to pass it on my own and the Emergency access to the Lithotripter is scheduled for 10-12 months and schedule me for a shunt, which has its own problems. 6) send me home with a Tylonol 3 prescription. 7) get into a hot bath and drink beer until it passes.

Until the pain gets too bad, I will be in my bath tub with a beer. I find that the water has to be very hot, the hotter the better. The only way to get it hot enough is to start the tub half full and get in. Then turn off the cold tap and warm up the water to the hottest temperature that you can handle. Fill the tub to the fullest and lie as prone as you can get and start drinking your fluids. I prefer beer and water. The other reason why I seem to like this therapy is that my wife, who hates me drinking beer, will actually go out and buy the beer for me, by the case load.

In the mean time, I will also be putting the Olive Oil (2oz) and Lemon Juice (2oz) to the test."

Replies
10/08/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "I question if beer has the same effect on the kidneys as other carbonated beverages do, and I am sure that carbonated beverages damage the kidneys because they cause proteinuria (spilling of proteins in the urine) which would indicate swelling of the tubules in the kidneys itself. The only benefit I can see here is that the more fluid you drink, the faster you are likely to pass the stones, but I personally think that good old water will do that more efficiently & without the necessity of getting drunk on the beer. But just maybe, getting high on the beer is a desired side effect here. Frankly I think they can put the stuff back in the horse.
I can see how the warm bath would bring about relaxation of ureters, as well as other tubules in the body, but I would be a little wary of getting the bath as hot as you can stand (scalding)...

HYDRANGEA

09/02/2011: Jpark from Spanish Fork, Utah writes: "A wonderful herb to dissolve stones is hydrangea, it comes in capsules. It will break up the stones into smaller more easily passed pieces. It is very helpful for relieving the pain during a kidney stone attack. Take 6 capsules 3-4 times per day, even up to 10 at a time if you are in extreme pain, or try take 2-3 each hour. Continue taking them for a couple weeks, then try the olive oil/lemon juice to flush them out. You don't want to flush them out too early and cause more pain, try to dissolve them first. At about $10 a bottle it is an inexpensive, but very effective solution for your kidney stones. I have used this on several occassions for stones, the first time I was in so much pain I could hardly move, but within 30 minutes of my first dose of hydrangea the pain started to subside to a manageable level. Google Hydrangea and kidney stones, you will find a lot of info."

It may take several tries but it works. when my wife and i did it last year we only got gravel because the cleanse had broken up the stones. We are in our 70's and this was our first attempt at removing stones. We plan to do this on a yearly basis with all our detox programs."

QUESTION

[QUESTION]  06/24/2009: Sangeetha from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands writes: "1. Does anyone know what type of stone multivitamins create? I had never had a kidney stone till 42. The only thing I had done differet in a few months preceding was to take multivitamins, so am assuming that is the cause.

2. Did anyone have a kidney stone stuck in the kidney. Were you able to get rid of it through natural/home remedies. If so, can you please share it with me.

Thanks."

You can do the same procedure with flax seeds, but before put them in the water bake them in the oven just for a minute to crack the seeds open, this one will purify your kidneys... Good Luck!"
06/26/2009: Sangeetha from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands replies: "Yesterday I went for an ultrasound to check the status of what I was told earlier was a kidney stone 4.5/4.8 mm. It has been 19 months and it still sits in the same place. Today my doctor called and told me I don't have a kidney stone, instead she thinks it is an angiolipoma. She has given my past and present ultrasound results to a radiologist to compare and check. She might be right, given that its sitting in my right kidney for so long and lemon juice/olive oil and ACV have not expelled it yet. It does seem to have shrunk a bit as my doctor said it was 4 mm in yesterday's result.

Does anyone know an effective home remedy for this?

Thanks."

Scheduled me for surgery or the water bath deal on Tues. I left hosp on a Tues. so only had a week to work on dissolving. I drank Lemon juice water, & drank extra water. I also added a tiny bit of baking soda to help sweeten our hard water to get more down. My Cat-scan on Tues showed no stones at all. Dr said to take Magnesium and would never need to see him again. Have tried both Magnesium and Lemon juice since and now been 4 yrs since my last bout with stones. Thanks for the great information."

09/11/2011: Steve from Smithfield, Pa replies: "A magnesium deficiency probably contributes to forming kidney stones but it is my belief that too much animal protein is one of the biggest causes. That along with a nutrient poor diet from not eating enough vegetables and fruit. Since I have adopted a plant-based diet and been eating very little animal protein I have not had a problem with kidney stones for years and before that I had my share on a regular basis."

[YEA]  05/15/2011: Tx1005 from Corpus Christi, Tx, Usa writes: "I was suffering from a 2 mm kidney stone that was right outside my bladder. After a week of pain, I found this website. I mixed the concotion of 2 ounces of lemon juice & 2 ounces of olive oil (which I worked out to be 2 tablespoons of each; 1 oz = 1 tablespoon). Mixed that up and drank it at 11 pm on Saturday night. Then, I started TRYING to drink 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with water. YUK!! Instead I diluted 1 tablesoon of ACV in 8 oz of water and drank that. Then did another tablespoon with another 8 oz. That helped to pass it. Drank lots of crystal light and cranberry juice. Last but not least, I went to grocery store and found (of all things) Apple Cider VInegar tablets!!!! bought those and took some of those.

Now it is sunday around 7:15 pm and I feel a little discomfort in my pee area. Felt like I had a urine infection. Went to bathroom and my 2mm kidney stone came out!!! No pain whatsoever!! Soooo happy!!! Now I do not have to go see a urologist to get it removed!! And I can go back to work symptom free. I am ecstatic. Needless to say something of the above worked for me. I say try it at least. All you have to lose is... Well, possibly, a kidney stone!!!"

The doctor said he should be able to pass the stone with the help of a medication that helps dialate the ureter. An ER nurse suggested that we look up lemon juice on internet as she heard that it could help prevent kidney stone. My husband took the medicine for 4 days, drank lots of water mixed with some lemon juice, while suffering from severe pain, nausea, fever, chills, but there was no sign of stone.

Then I found this website and decided to try the recipe right away. I mixed 2 oz lemon juice with 2 oz olive oil. My husband drank it and followed by a big glass of water. Amazingly, the next day he passed the stone. The stone broke into smaller pieces. We're so thankful that we found this website and the recipe. Good luck to all who have kidney stones."

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  09/24/2009: Chloe from Melbourne, Australia writes: "Kidney stones and lemon juice:

I found a remedy for kidney stones on the internet and it's working. Here is the remedy: Drink 8 ounces of lemon juice straight. Then drink a glass of water with 1 ounce of lemon juice every hour for the next 12 hours.

I did this yesterday and nothing happened at first. Then I continued with the 1 ounce of lemon juice in water every couple of hours today and I started to see the grit coming out. I'll probably continue with the lemon juice until I feel completely better."

[YEA]  02/02/2010: Garden Lady from Orlando, Usa replies: "I have had such bad kidney stones starting in my 20's after a car accident. I get them about every year or as little as 6 months. I have been hospitalized with an enlarged kidney and have scarring from the scraping of the stones. I get violently ill and can barely stand the pain- especially since it can take days to pass or I cannot pass them on my own. The health care in Florida is much to be desired and instead of the hospital making you comfortable as soon as possible they act like you are there just to get pain meds. Then after they see your CT and watch you throw up about 12 times and moan in agony they will give you something. I have waited over 8 hours in an emergency room and seen a sprained ancle get treated first. This is not a good problem to have on a regular basis!!

I feel for everyone who goes through this! One day someone told me about the lemon juice. It is a miracle! No more hospital rooms for me! I am writing this while waiting for a stone to pass. I am not doubled over and even got to eat today. I am soooo grateful. If only someone like the kidney specialist had recommended this!! Also, I spoke with someone from South America and they have a tea they use especially for the stones and said it passes in a few hours. How sad that more do not know these things. Please pass the word to others- they deserve the relief!!! I make a bottle of water and squirt in about 3 big squirts of lemons juice or at least 3 tablespoons and drink it constantly."
10/09/2011: Tammy from Lakeland, Fl replies: "Hi All, I just want to say thank you for all the great info here! I have been a stone former since 1988. I found this site a couple days ago while looking for any way possible to have a stone pass after 4, yes, 4 weeks! It has been the worst 4 weeks ever! Last urologist visit was about 6 months ago and was told I have 17 stones over 5mm! No telling how many smaller! I could go on and on with crazy episodes of trying to pass stones (getting in shower fully dressed looking for heat for comfort jumping in circles in the tub getting right back out n going to hospital soaking wet, calling ambulances out to the house, waiting hours upon hours in ERs, Dr.s looking at u like you r nuts for asking for strong meds, etc.. ) I have passed 3 in a day, a few a week, I've gone years upon years with daily pain! I'd like to also suggest a great remedy n from what I've read I can't give name brands so I will give u a few hints.. Its a 3 letter word. Starts with an A, ends with an O n theres a Z in the middle. Its usually found in the female area n it numbs the urinary tract! It is the standard not the cranberry one. It's amazing! I don't know why its not suggested more often! Think about it.... IT NUMBS THE URINARY TRACT!!!!!!! Please spread the word to anybody dealing with stones!!!"

[YEA]  08/06/2009: Chuck from Chicago, Il writes: "I have had chronic Kidney Stone Issues FOR the past 25 years. After my last bout September 2008 my urologist suggested I take 4 OZ of Lemon Juice Daily. I prepare 4oz of Lemon Juice in 64 oz of Instant Iced Tea for taste. In March 2009 with out any pain or warning I passed 2 Stones. I was pretty surprised since I have become used to the symptoms.

Unfortunately each of my children are coming down with stones starting at the same age as I started getting them. Oh, yes doctors say they are NOT hereditary. My son currently has a stone and no insurance so we started him on 4oz of Lemon juice in 64 oz of iced tea mixture on 8/5/09. He felt less pain by evening, however did not pass yet. On 8/6/09 we started trying the Lemon and Olive Oil Cure, 2 oz Lemon Juice and 2 Oz Olive oil, once a day and are continuing the Lemon Tea. We will see how long this takes."

Did a "google" search and found a promising page - Dr Simon Allen. Please beware of Dr Simon Allen´s "health" devices for kidney stones, prostate problems and back pain. I used one for kidney stones and it was a hoax.
He advertises a sort of belt for health disorders on several pages and promises 100% money back quarantee.

Finetreatment.co.uk

Prlog.org/10282190-dr-allens-devices-offer-new-approach-to-the-treatment-of-the-causes-of-health-disorders

The device is a cheap, approx. 5 dollar belt with 2 stone like wax-pieces on the back side. The device is very unpleasant to wear. Wonder who can wear it for months all the time. I couldn´t wear it for more than less a week. I told them that it is impossible to wear such a belt and want my money back. They said that I have to send them medical records which show that I actually have kidney stones! I said that medical records are not to be sent to salesmen. They sent back a long questionnaire with lots of health questions and suggested that people with kidney problems have to eat 2 eggs a day/14 a week, lots of cheese and milk products! If someone really would believe in this "docs" advices, he would probably be in serious kidney problems very quickly. And, of course their promise of 100% money back quarantee was a hoax as well. When you want your money back they give endless explanations and advice what to do for kidney problems and why they don´t give you your money back. Better ask Paypal to handle the money issues. I´m going to try lemon/oil mixture today."
