I was in Canberra doing a workplace assessment and could feel a bad cold coming on. Ended up having lunch at 4.30pm ... McDonald's Fillet of Fish, chips and a chocolate thick shake were woofed down. Long drive to get home around 9pm. Feeling sick. Sweats, aches and pains. Went straight to bed.

But I couldn't sleep. Lay there with indigestion. That Fillet 'o fish was stuck in my gullet and I couldn't lie down. Had to sit up. But I was so sick I couldn't sit up. I was a mess.

Had a really bad night. The next day still with indigestion... I came to this website. Saw about Apple Cider Vinegar.

I made up 2Tbsp of ACV with some honey and warm water. I only took 2 sips because I didn't want my gullet to be burnt out with ACV! Only 2 sips. Within a minute things felt better. Wasn't long and I could lie down again without the awful indigestion. I was so pleased. I then swallowed down the rest of the ACV and honey.

I've still got the rotten cold but NO INDIGESTION.

I have recently been getting acute epigastric (top of stomach between ribs) pain about 1 hour after eating fried food. My stomach bloats right there and the pain is excruciating! The first time it happened I went to the ER because I thought for sure I must be having a heart attack; I was told it was gas. I tried taking anti-gas medicine and it does work but takes too long to kick in. I tried baking soda and water...not sure how much cuz I just poured it in, but probably at, least 1 "T"ablespoon, and it did work; I threw up within a couple of minutes. This is all before I knew the pain was grease induced. Tonight I ate fish and chips and sure enough it happened again. I grabbed the apple cider vinegar and poured about 2 Tablespoons in with about 1 cup of water and downed it. Within 2 minutes the bubble burst and all better. It does taste bad, but it does work!

Now I need to find the underlying cause; I hardly ever eat fried food, but I want to get to the bottom of the problem.

Dear Beth, I often have exactly the same problem and I believe it's a gallbladder attack, not a gastointestinal issue. If I eat too much fat in one meal, I get severe pain and nausea just under my right rib, indicating a gallbladder attack (gallbladder is embedded in the liver under your right ribs, which is why the lower ribs can get sore.) Apple cider vinegar is my go to remedy, but I have started to do gallbladder cleanses several times a year as well.

I started taking 2 Tbsp. ACV in 1 cup of warm water first thing in A.M. before breakfast, hoping it wd help my diabetes. I have been taking this for 4 days now and my abdomen has shrunk remarkably! This may sound gross, but from the start I began belching up gas all day long. Obviously my stomach has been swollen for a few years due to trapped gas that just swelled my belly. Otherwise, I was not overweight. No amount of exersize helped. I am just elated and now hope that it will help my diabetes as well.
