[YEA] 01/28/2008: george from naples, florida: "BAKING SODA NASAL RINSE I used baking soda and warm water and have not had a sinus problems in two months also used cayenne pepper to lower my blood pressure."

[YEA] 08/14/2007: Jennifer from Windsor, California: "Hi Karen, My mother occasionally experiences the same heartburn discomfort after taking ACV. She can't take it on an empty stomach and has to sip it slowly. She does take it every morning after breakfast diluted in 16 oz of filtered water. In regards to lowering blood pressure, she's had wonderful success with cayenne pepper. Do a search on Dr. Richard Schultz for lots more info. My Mom's doctor reduced her blood pressure med in half several months ago and my Mom hopes to be able to stop completely when she goes back in for her checkup in a couple of months. Besides eating well and taking the ACV and cayenne, she walks several miles 3 - 4 times a week."
[YEA] 01/07/2007: Daniel from Nelson, New Zealand: "This is really excellent stuff on here. I've used cayenne pepper for 15 years plus now along with a few other practices and be live it helps maintain my blood pressure within the normal range without having to alter my diet and life style to much. Can't wait to try out apple cider vinegar at least it wont be as pungent taken in a tea form like the cayenne. having said that, do not be put off cayenne as you can use capsules. It's great stuff!"
[YEA] 01/23/2006: Tameka from Glen Burnie, MD: "I have tried the Cayenne Pepper and Golden Seal capsules. I would generally take two in the morning and 2 in the evening. Worked pretty good. I also have tried the apple cider vinegar and that works well too. 2 to 3 tsp 3 times a day did it for me."
[YEA] Lisa from Egg Harbor Twp, NJ: "I luv to share this. I was told as a 40-something Af. Amer women, that I was borderline hypertensive and put on meds. Not good. I was falling asleep. Also no good to cut the dose -- comatose. A friend told me about a folk remedy - cayenne pepper. She said it needed to be organic cayenne- it's stronger, I guess. I am now over 50 and my pressure is usually in the range of 110/70. I do take a 12mg. water pill to keep me from retaining water also. I started with @1/4 tsp (of cayenne) in any liquid you want 2x a day. If needed, you can up this to 1/2 tsp but do this slowly so your body can adjust to the increase. Now I do watch my salt intake but I only use the cayenne when I have had a particularly salty dish."
Cayenne, Ginger, Garlic and Lecithin
[YEA] 12/23/2006: Peyote from Richland, MO: "I take once daily, 1500 mg off garlic soft gel and two capsules of cayenne, 450mg ginger, 200mg hawthorn berry, 50mg of lecithin the last are all in one capsule keeps my BP in check Good luck."
[YEA] 09/09/2011: Stacy from Honesdale, Pennsylvania: "for further help with high blood pressure you should eat celery... At least 4 stalks a day for 7 days and you will see your blood pressure come down!! its true"
[YEA] 07/20/2011: Mick from Ravenna, Oh : "To lower your blood pressure safely juice 4 celery sticks every day. This will lower your blood pressure at least 10 percent. My blood pressure went from 120 over 80 to 90 over 60. Doctor was dumbfounded. Yeah imagine that. I have a condition called aquagenic urticaria and am unable to drink pure water, researched and found celery juice to be the most non allergenic juice available. The blood pressure thing was just a side effect that I have since confirmed through further research."
Celery Seed Extract
[YEA] 02/22/2012: Stephenp from Honolulu, Ha, Usa: "Celery Seed Extract for high blood pressure
I am a 27 year old male and have had high blood pressure ever since my first physical for high school sports, otherwise healthy and in great shape. About 6 months ago my blood pressure reading at the doctor was 155/98. This was the highest it has ever been and the doctor recommended going on medication which I didn't want to do.
I started taking celery seed extract which can be bought at any health store or online for under $10. I took two capsules two or three times a day. The next time I had my blood pressure taken was 3 weeks later when donating blood.
I was extremely surprised to find my BP at 124/78
I now take 1 capsule twice a day and take a week off about every six weeks and maybe miss a day here and there."
Celery, Apples, Grapes
[YEA] 01/05/2010: Sesostris2 from Menifee, Ca, USA: "high blood pressure neglect resulted in a stroke for me 2yrs ago. for 2 yrs i survived on meds, but side effects were undesirable, and depending on what i ate there was a tendency for hbp spikes and the resulting weakness and nausea.i was basically sick and weak daily. a co-worker shared a snack of celery and apples with me.i noticed it gave me energy, offset the effects of my meds and stabilized my hbp. i used to check my bp daily, sometimes 2-3 times due to nausea and weakness. now i check it 1x mo just to smile. Raw celery, apples, and red grapes daily- 2times a day at first. after 3 weeks my hbp is no longer an issue. I am strong, nausea free. i stopped anti-coag drug and replaced w 81mg adult aspirin, plus cinnamon caplets, and policosinol( all anti-coag)
I also take garlic, and am researching ginger and tumeric as daily supplmts if doctor consents. i now thinks meds are unnecessary but no doctor consent on this. I usually use, 2-3 celery stalks, one juicy red apple, and as many grapes i desire. Now i do this just once a day. Never tried ACV. My cure has to get to the root of my problem and has to be something i can do for life with no side effects. Celery, apples and grapes daily is the bomb!!!"
[YEA] 09/04/2012: Xia from Los Angeles, Ca: "My dad (a scientist/atheist) had extremely high blood pressure that was not being controlled with prescription meds (even though he was taking 3 different kinds of blood pressure meds! )
I read on webMD that meditation with a mantra helps reduce blood pressure. I asked my dad to do an experiment. First, to take his blood pressure. He did. It was 179/76. Then I asked him to chant "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo" with me for 15 minutes (it is a Buddhist chant that means "dedication to the mystical/inexplicable Law of Cause and Effect through sound/vibration"). He only chanted for 7 minutes and then wanted to take his blood pressure again, immediately. He did, and his blood pressure was 105/67.
We tried this experiment every day for a week. Every time, it worked to lower his blood pressure.
Chanting definitely reduces blood pressure. I have also used chanting to relieve anxiety, reduce depression and to access the subconscious mind. Try it and see!!! It's free and it works."Replies
09/05/2012: Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa replies: "Xia, I have been listening to some harmonics and occasional chants on YouTube. Question: does one need only "listen" to the chants or must also actively vocalize the chants ?"
09/05/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Xia and Timh, I have spent much time chanting although not so much these days. My guru was Baba Muktananda and I loved chanting! It is part of the Siddha tradition and the chants were in sanskrit. My response regarding chanting is to actively participate and you will feel the vibration lift you within. I know that just listening to chants or playing them also raises the vibrational field but how you feel when you actually participate is so uplifting at least in my experience. I would encourage you to try that Timh and see if you feel your vibration change. Best to you always, Lisa"
09/05/2012: Xia from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "Listening is very calming although I never actually checked to see if just listening would have the same effect on lowering blood pressure. I'll have to test that out! Vocalising the chant is the best way to feel the full effect of the vibrational change. It's analogous to tuning in to a radio frequency, or plugging in to a source of electricity: someone else can tune in to their own radio station or turn on their own lightswitch and you can overhear the music or observe the light but it's not quite the same as activating it yourself."
09/05/2012: Heather from Leicester replies: "Yes chanting works, it is very powerful if repeated constantly as you go about your day.. Try 'thank you for my healing' it is like prayer x"
[YEA] 03/24/2007: Tia from Dallas, Texas: "CINNAMON. S'posed to be an end to HBP and Diabetes."Replies
03/20/2012: Nevadasmith from Smithfield, Pa replies: ""Using natural product screening, chemists have discovered the only natural blockbuster diabetes drug. It successfully lowers blood sugar, triglycerides and A1C levels while increasing insulin sensitivity -- and without a single negative side effect.... This drug is commonly known as cinnamon! " From a book written by a former chemist for big pharma, Shane Ellison.
So yes, you are correct. But cinnamon alone may not be enough for somefolks. It all depends on how insulin resistant they have become. And as far lowering blood pressure, that may depend on how related their individual cause for high blood pressure is linked with insulin resistance."
[YEA] 07/26/2012: Kosmik from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: "I was having uncomfortable time during past 7 days when my BP rose to 140 /90 from my 'normal' 130/80. It was quite a sudden thing and that leaves me clueless - hmm what was wrong?
So since then I tried water, garlic and ACV/BS without significant result while keep reading EC for more things to try out. I came across virgin coconut oil VCO so I did take it just 1tsp last night. 2 hrs later I was seeing the readings were on the way down. Early this morning I had another 1 tsp. Well, I did take coconut water drink too as the same time. So I'm not sure who did the work or was it both?
To my total surprise when I checked the BP this morning it was 120/80, a number I was striving to achieve for a very long time.
Let see how long it will last - I pray for the best."
[YEA] 03/11/2008: Kevin from Angleton, TX: "I'm 58 yrs old and with HBP for the last 30yrs. I've been taking Coconut oil and Virgin palm oil (1 tbl spn ea. in the late afternoon or evening) for approx 6 mos. My BP has been reduced drastically whereas I plan to get off it completely (I take one pill in the morning and another one in the evening). I haven't discussed this with my Dr. and I'll get off both of them about a month before my next visit with him to actually see the results. If my pressure is normal I don't think I'll tell him what I've been doing though to keep things simple. He'll re-prescribe my medicine but I no longer plan on taking them as long as my BP remains normal."
