[YEA]  06/05/2010: Relieved from Chicago, Il, Usa: "Rutin, Vitamin E, Vitamin B cured my hemorrhoids

This is the first time I posted anything online but because I was so miserable from hemorrhoids and am now completely cured, I have to share the remedy that helped me.

My symptoms started after straining from having a bowel movement. I felt a slight swelling and itching on one side of my rectal area and eventually noticed a medium purple-like bump. I ignored it for several months and the swelling and itching only became worse. I was spotting blood on toilet paper and I have to admit scratching at times with toilet paper. I never wanted to sit and if I did, I had to lean toward the unaffected side. I feared having bowel movements because the pain and itch increased before I had to go. I tried "expensive" prescription creams, over-the-counter creams, anti-inflammatories, apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, Vitamin C, Vitamin B, baby wipes, increasing fiber intake only resulting in temporary and minor relief.

I read on this site about Rutin. I took Rutin 500 mg and I experienced SIGNIFICANT relief the very SAME DAY. I took it daily, but I still experienced annoying anal itch for 1 year.

I started to take Vitamin E for a different ailment in March. Within 2 weeks, the itch was completely gone. I no longer have symptoms. I have been symptom free from hemorrhoids for 3 months. I stopped using rutin and decided to use it if I ever experience hemorrhoids again. I still take vitamin B and vitamin E with selenium for a different ailment. I truly feel like I never ever had hemorrhoids before and have returned to a normal life without anxiety from hemorrhoids.

The remedy that helped me in a nutshell is:
Rutin 500 mg a day
Vitamin E with selenium, started twice a day and tapered down to once a day
Vitamin B once a day
Increasing leafy green vegetables(Kale is my favorite)
Increasing fiber in my diet
Baby wipes, no toilet paper"

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[YEA]  04/24/2012: Jennandluca from Los Angeles, Ca, United States: "Hi There, I wanted to add to the Hemorrhoids section. I have been applying Tea Tree Oil to my hemorrhoid, and it instantly cools and relieves the pain. I'm not sure if it actually helps to shrink the rhoid, but for pain control, I highly recommend.

I had learned about using Tea Tree Oil to help control and heal pain on a boil I had, so I thought it couldn't hurt to try it on my hemorrhoid.

Hope this helps someone else. thanks, jenn"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  06/29/2010: Big Tuna from Park Ridge, Illinois, Usa: "I really enjoy EC & have used many of the remedies it contains. A few weeks ago I had a rare bout of constipation. When I finally did have a movement, it felt like I was passing broken glass. It took considerable effort (and tears) , but I was finally successful.

The problem is that now I have a bleeding hemorrhoid since that day. I am starting my 4th week of trying almost all of the remedies on this site for this ailment with no success or relief. It has gotten so bad the past 3 days that I can't sleep. Even OTC pain relievers have no effect on the pain. I have taken B6 & Rutin for 2 weeks; no effect. Last night, 6/28/10 I became desperate & took my bottle of tea tree oil & applied several drops to my finger tip & gently messaged it into the hemorrhoid & surrounding area. At first I felt nothing. In about 3 minutes I felt a warming sensation & possibly a little less pain.

I began watching TV & about ten minutes later I realized that I was actually sitting on the couch & I didn't have any pain. I was able to sleep from midnight to 10am this morning. When I arose from bed, no pain. About an hour later I had another BM. I wish I could say it was pain free, but it was NOT! This time I only had a slight trace of Blood. After I cleaned up I reapplied the tea tree oil & had to wait about 10 minutes & the pain subsided. In fact I went out & cut the grass! As I am writing this I am sitting on a regular chair without the dough nut!

I don't know if the tea tree oil will cure my hemorrhoid or not, but it made it much more bearable & I was able to sleep. Tea tree oil is a fantastic product that I have used for years on cuts & scrapes, hot spots on my dogs etc. It is fungicidal, antiseptic & a germicide. It can be purchased from almost any drug store, vitamin/health food store & many on-line vitamin sites. I got mine from swansonvitamins.com.

I know your pain my brothers & sisters.

06/29/2010: Isabelle from Garden Grove, Ca Usa replies: "Hello! I am sorry about what you went through.I like to share this info: in Europe we use rutin in powder around four grammes, and here the dosage is only half a gramme it is not enough to make a difference in crisis. As per Adelle Davis (may her soul be blessed for she saved my life) vitamin c and vitamin e (natural mixed tocopherol) every hour at the beginning of the crisis shall reduce the pain in a few hours. The same for thrombosis. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact dosage of vitamin e but if one is not taking any, it has to be a small dosage to start with. As for vitamin c, increase the dosage up to 1/2 gr every hour but decrease the dosage if the stools becomes too loose. (best to use vitamin c as crystal ascorbic acid with bicarbonate to make ascorbate c as per Ted remedy). peace!"
06/30/2010: Brenda from San Antonio, Texas replies: "I know it is in mixed company that I give you this remedy please do not take it wrong, it worked for me. Take a small garlic clove, cover with olive oil or any non toxic oil, and insert up the anus overnight. Yes you might feel a burning sensation, but I have tried this on many people with success. Usually one or two times is all that is needed. In the morning the clove is expelled when you use the restroom. The burning does not damage tissue. And the worst bleeding hemorrhoids will get better. I also suggest any kind of bioflavinoids, rutin, citris or grapeseed daily to keep them away. No, it does not cause garlic smell on the body."

The "Pushing Them Back In" Technique

[YEA]  05/25/2006: Shannon from Waverly, TN: "I am pregnant (8 months) and have tried nearly everything to help the pain and discomfort of my frequent external hemorrhoids. This was the only thing that actually helped. I did have to use the "technique" about once daily for 4-5 days, but they healed quicker with no more pain or discomfort. Thanks so much!"

[YEA]  Emilio from Miami FL: "As to hemorrhoids the ones that are external, in other words that you can feel with your fingers. you can try putting any natural or over the counter ointment on them. eventually the hemorrhoids will retract and go back in to the body. But this could take hours sometimes and in the mean time there is pain. If quick relief is what you want take a shower and clean the area good with any soap. Ivory soap is good its 99% soap no oils or perfumes. after you are clean while in shower apply good amount of soap thru fingers. This will act like lubricant and gently with your middle finger not using your nails! push them back in! this works all the time the pain will leave you immediately. This was told to me by a nurse and till this day it works. Just remember -- change your eating habits cause you will get them again or operate them if you don't want to go thru hassle of always having to push them back in..."

Thrombosed Hemorrhoid Treatment

[YEA]  04/15/2013: Marsh from Denver, Co, Usa: "Thrombosed Vein caused by Ruptured Artery

I just experienced a thrombosed hemorrhoid that was the size of my husband's thumb caused by a ruptured artery which was repaired about 4"-5" up the canal and externally. Couldn't sit or barely stand due to the pressure. Saw physician 4/3 and was in surgery before I could blink. Ten days later, the agony remains. This is my personal experience and I hope none of you have to go through this. If you do, I sincerely hope some of my suggestions help.

1) Food - Eat fresh fruits/veggies and easy to digest protein (protein will help the healing process faster), organic chicken broth. Puree to help ease the passage. This is something you'll be grateful for during your first few BMs. Chew extremely well if you don't have blender.

2) Drink - Organic prune juice, water with lemon, lime or slices of cucumber, camomille tea, green tea - anything to eliminiate the boredom of water. Because of the drugs, I've added Keifer, probiotics and Milk Thistle Tincture to help support good bacteria and kidneys.

3) Elimination Suggestions - A different site posted a suggestion from someone who said it was easier to eliminate in the shower. After 3 days of agony and cinching up on the toilet during sitzing (the warm water relaxes things and the urge to eliminate sneaks up quickly), I swallowed my pride, armed myself with plastic bags from the grocery store (the veggies bags don't rip like the larger bags), a roll of paper towels, scrub brush, Dawn dish soap and Clorox. The first couple times I had to bend over my husband - the pressure leaning onto him helped add pressure to move things and to keep me from falling over from the pain. I also used an empty babywipe container to catch the majority of elimination. It wasn't pleasant but the relief outweighed the pain. A handheld shower is so well worth it. Having the water right there (cup with your other hand if necessary) will relax your bum and after will make clean up simple.

4) Cleaning/Showering/Drying - Keep several dry towels at hand because you'll need a dry towel very time you shower which is the only way I've found the burn to dissipate or consequently it burns like lemon juice on a fresh cut. Only dab with tp - anything more will cause greater irritation. Even though my doc said medicated Tucks were good, the nurses in the OR said to avoid them. Use wipes that haven't parabens, phthalages, etc. I used warm, wet paper towels just for dabbing during the 15 step journey to the shower that seemed more like a 5 mile hike.

http://safemama.com/cheatsheets/safer-baby-wipes/

Use Gentle soaps rather than the harsh types found in the grocery aisle. http://www.livestrong.com/article/110721-soaps-allergy-sensitive-people/

5)- Drugs - I was prescribed Diladad and Valium. The Diladad caused my chest and arms to itch, my stomach, back and legs broke out with something like bug bites and caused excruciating headaches. Finally, my sister insisted on something else and Percocet was prescribed. All cause constipation so drink, drink, drink. The doctor recommended milk of magnesia and metamuscil. Neither did much. On the 5th day, urination was becoming a challenge which can become another problem. My doc was in surgury all day so we phoned the ER who said they'd administer an enema to get things moving. I called a couple pharmacists and they too shivered at the suggestion of that experience. Both recommended magnesium citrate. I drank about 2/3 of a bottle which seemed to be a little too much too much for my size (petite female, 100#) and it worked. The doc doesn't want diarrhea so perhaps 1/4 bottle may have been better for my size. The point is don't over do it and definitely ask your physician BEFORE surgery. Whatever stool softener is used, drink more water than the bottle suggests.

Insist on a prescription of Litocain. It helps numb the bum to make sitting, standing and walking more tolerable, especially when eliminating. I'm so exhaused of the pain from the burn that I glob on castor oil on the open suture to keep things as comfy as possible. After showering I use 98% organic aloe vera gel with comfry and chamomille for healing. When it dries, I apply the litocaine on a cottonball and leave it there.

http://voices.yahoo.com/how-magnesium-citrate-relieves-constipation-470635.html?cat=71

6) Keep the cool bags of peas or corn, etc on hand to calm the area.

Lastly, to make sure the shower drain is clean, I pour a half box of baking soda down the drain, followed by 2 cups of vinegar. Let it set for 5-10 minutes then pour 2 stock pots of boiling water down the drain. Other household disinfectants follow.

Here's wishing anyone who has this surgery the best."

[YEA]  04/13/2013: Sick Of Hems from Singapore: "Hi all. Hems, how annoying. I endured an internal one that would present itself during bowel movements with depressing regularity. Such an annoying and bothersome condition because you're daily reminded about it. Acv, coconut oil, garlic orally and suppository, more fibre, more water, more fruit, more exercise, molasses, cayenne you name it. I tried all of the things I read about here and sure I'm probably more healthy because of it but over a couple of years I have not seen any improvement.... Until about a week ago I started taking Tumeric. I cannot say for sure that it is the singular factor but the correlation of significant improvement with this condition and taking tumeric seems too close to ignore. I say improvement only because I'm still finding it hard to believe that the condition may actually be fixed as I approach with trepidation, every passing motion. People are here because, I guess like me, they prefer natural remedies, don't want surgery and aren't having luck with chemist bought stuff. If you've got hems you've probably done a stack of research and realise that why we get them is still open to conjecture. Some say candida, some say not enough fibre, straining on the toilet etc, in some way I guess you could link them all up as digestive. I'm not a doctor and the stuff I'm reading about Tumeric/Curcurmin talks about how it's anti inflammatory , antic bacterial and a natural liver detoxifier as well as a bunch of other ways its good for you. Anyway I just thought I'd add my experience to the list.

I take a couple of 500mg Tumeric/curcumin tablets with meals every day and after a few days I was surprised by an improvement ( I wasnt taking it explicitly for hemms ) and then after around a week things seem to have at least 90 percent improved, I say 90 percent, maybe its a 100 it's just that after a couple of years with it it's difficult to know what a "normal" bowel movement without a hemm appearing feels like. Anyway if you find yourself in a similar position to me you might want to give Tumeric/curcumin a try. The last thing I wanted to do was subject myself to surgery because of it. It's an annoying condition, like many I suppose, because its depressing and a constant annoyance but hopefully this is the factor that helped me and with many luck you too. Good luck and be patient finding something that will work."

[YEA]  12/07/2008: Vella from Albany, NY: "I've recently bought pure _____'s organic ACV and have been drinking a cup with luke warm water every day for almost one week. I can't say that I've experienced any noticeable effects yet, but I do like the tangy, mildy sweet taste of it. A couple of times I heated the water a bit more and added raw honey to satisfy my sweet tooth. For me that's like having a cup of tea and is very enjoyable.

I've suffered miserably with hemorroid flareups for the last 10 years (since the birth of my 3rd child). For the last couple of years I've been having a great deal of bleeding in addition to the severe pain. I've been putting off the surgery suggested to me by several doctors and decided to look for alternative methods to manage and hopefully cure this painful condition.

I tried Vick's as suggested on this site when I was out of Prep H and plus I felt that it has been losing its efficacy on me. Vick's was like a wonder drug and shrunk the swelling way faster and more effectively than Prep H. I had already been applying aloe gel as I was aware of its healing and soothing properties. The combination of the 2 made me feel 100% better. My only problem now is that the protrusions return after each BM. I'm hoping that eventually my body will heal to the point that they don't return. I used to like to do strength training (I'm a woman and was only using 5-10 pound weights) but had to abandon it because of the pressure it put on my roids and caused me to have really bad flareups after each workout. I would love to be able to return to strength training.

Bye bye and God Bless!"
