[YEA] 05/16/2009: Thomas from Missouri City, TX: "Heel spur
Calcium -- Yea
A month and a half ago, it was sheer agony just to walk to the mailbox; to get out of bed, I needed a cane. Then I came here and read-up on calcium.
For the past month and a half, I've been blasting calcium into my system with a daily dose of: a multi-vitamin with 162 mg of calcium in it, PLUS a tablet of 600 mg of calcium and 400 I.U. of Vitamin D.
Three days after starting my calcium-blasting, I noticed that I was feeling less pain. Now, a month and a half later, I am PAIN-FREE (except after I stand or walk a lot)."
[YEA] 11/25/2008: Mary from Virginia Beach, VA: "I would like to let everyone know that I came on this site to see what people were doing to relieve their heel pain because I was having heel pain so bad that I was not able to put any weight on it and was also getting sharp pains through the heel. It got so bad I was almost in tears (and I have a high toleance for pain!) So I had decided to take ________ Calcium (calcium 250mg also has Mag 250mg,Vit D 200 i.u. and 7.5mg zinc as directed 2 tabs twice daily with a meal) and I have to tell you that it worked!!! This morning I woke up and normally I limp for about an hour and then I still have a slight limp but got up and only felt a slight discomfort and was able to walk fine as the day went on!! So I recommend not buying these fly by night remedy pills and go to your local rite sid etc and try it out! Hope this helps anyone that has been in my pain!!"
[YEA] 11/22/2006: Mel from Canada: "When it comes to heel spurs, there is only one good cure. As we age, we require more and more Calcium because our absorption drops to about 25%. What does this mean? It means that when we don't get enough calcium, our body tries to compensate by getting it from elsewhere in the body. In other words, it takes calcium out of the bones. That is what causes a heel spur, and by taking calcium pills, as well as some other basic vitamins and supplements, you can reverse a heel spur."Replies
08/18/2012: Vicky From Atlanta Ga from Atlanta, Ga, Usa replies: "I was diagnosed with heal spur March 2012. I was told by my podiatist to discontinue the 1000mg calcium/400mg vit D that I was taking prior to the diagnosis. He put me on 5000mg of Vit D daily with thiamine. He seems to suggest that my body had too much calcium so I needed the mega doses of vit D to dissolve the bone spur. It has not helped. Then I came to this site. I have just commenced on the ACV, MSM amd magnesium protocol. I have had 2 steroid shots already and the pain has started again and will be going for the third shot if this does not work. I have tried the $40 orthotic also without sucess. I will post the result in about a week or so."
Castor Oil and Vicks Vapor Rub
[YEA] 03/03/2009: Carol from Weirsdale, Florida: "Heel Spurs: Extreme pain in my heels started suddenly and I didn't know what was happening. My boss said that she had had them and had been given very, very painful cortisone injections. She said this may help for 5 years. I hate needles, so remembering that castor oil was very good for many things, massaged it into my feet along with Vicks vapo rub or any similar product and within 2 weeks, no more pain. I then was able to go overseas and walk 5 miles and no pain except I had a huge water pouch on the bottom of my feet when I returned. Rested feet 2 days, water reabsorbed into body and have had no reoccurance for 10 years.
Also, just came home from Thailand with aching, dragging leg and sore knees. I read the blogs on black strap molasses and ACV and have been taking daily and muscle ache in leg has gone, knees much better, so am a happy camper. Just have to try not to overdo my walking and climbing steep steps at 75 years of age. Also used the castor oil and Vicks massage on knees. Don't know why this worked, but no harm in trying it to get relief."
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 03/14/2011: Elaine from Edmond, Oklahoma, Usa replies: "I have been using this rememdy on my husband for about two weeks now. Both of his feet were very painful. Each evening I sit and massage his feet for about a half with the castor oil and vapo rub. The vapo rub is a dollar jar I bought at the dollar store. Very slowly his feet are improving. Before on a scale of one to ten, ten being the most his feet hurt, he is now a three and only on his right heel. I love this site!"
07/09/2013: Carrie from Spfld, Il: "Specifically what kind of coconut oil? I have organic refined coconut oil? Can it be refined or should it be? There are many kinds... Thanks!!!"
[YEA] 05/22/2013: Lorrie from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia: "Coconut oil has been a huge help to me in curing my heel spur pain. I have just stated taking a tablespoon a day and have noticed a big difference after a week or so. This oil feeds you body from the inside, helps your skin and hair and is also useful for weight loss. I was speaking to a man recently who told me he has managed to cut down on his medication for diabetes since taking regular coconut oil."
[YEA] 04/12/2007: Kim from Bluefield, WV: "Coconut Oil Eliminated Pain from Heel Spur: I began taking Coconut Oil capsules 10 days ago to reduce blood pressure and cholesterol and possibly loose a little weight. Within 3 days of taking the capsules (4 per day) the pain from a heel spur I had suffered with for appx. 8 years vanished. I have had the horribly painful shots (which helped only temporarily) and tried many other remedies (with little to no success). My heel pain has completely subsided. I am able to do aerobics again, which I have not been able to do without severe heel pain for many years. It has truly been a miracle for me!"
[YEA] 01/07/2008: Earl from Rialto, CA: "I had heel spur for 2 or 3 years and I was looking at Surgery on my heels, I was telling my boss I might be out of work for 3-4 months. Then one day I went to a health store with my dad and a lady ask me if I need help and I said do you have any thing for heel spurs, She said yes Acid-A-Cal took it for 2-3 weeks and felt big big diffence.so I kept taking it 3-4 bottles later Heel spur are all gone 4 years later no problems."Replies
[YEA] 02/23/2009: Lauren from Mountain View, CA replies: "Today I woke up and realized that the bone spur on the back of my foot has disappeared! Thank you so much Earl from Rialto, CA for the Acid-A-Cal recommendation. I started taking Acid-A-Cal and Apple Cider Vinegar supplements (capsules) twice a day, in 3 days the pain was gone, in one week that unsightly tiny devil's thorn disappeared! Oh my god, I'm so thankful for alternative medicine and all the natural supplements advice posted on this site."
09/10/2010: Belinda from O-town, Fl,usa replies: "Did the calcium actually shrink the spur? My foot doctor informed me that X-rays indicate that my spur is growing longer each year. I've figured out how to handle the pain but not how to shrink the spur."
07/15/2012: Liam from Toronto, On, Canada replies: "OMG!!!! This stuff works! People, please if you suffer from bone spurs, please give the Acid-A-Cal a try -it is the real deal. I cannot believe this worked on me. Thank you guys so much!
I developed a bone spur on the top of my foot and was discussing with an OS to do surgery to get rid if (shave it down). I then began obsessed with trying to find an alternative method. I cleaned up my diet, tried everything possible homeopathic. I came across this site and read about acid-a-cal. Interested, I went searched further and found a few other sites where ppl said it dissolved their spurs.
At the same time I also did a blood test to check my calcium levels which were a bit (just a bit) below normal. I bought it and began supplementing it 3x a day with meals. I kid you not, within 2 months my spurs have gone. Yes, they are gone. It began with the dull ache going away, then the perpetual redness fading (I'm guessing cause the spurs were shrinking and no longer pressing against soft tissue) and the last 2 weeks I literally was watching the spur shrink to now there is no spur. I swear to the all that is good and holy, the bony prominence is GONE!
I haven't shown it to my OS yet, but I believe he will be shocked. Beyond shocked! I am so grateful, happy and filled with renewed spirit. I love you all and thank you thank you thank you!"
05/21/2013: Sandrafromsudbury from Sudbury, Ontario Canada replies: "Liam - where did you get it? I live just north of Toronto..."
07/19/2011: Shuzchic from Nyc, Ny : "Hi Ted - Please confirm for me - as I am suffering terribly with heel spurs -
2000mg an hour for 6hours - so 12,000mg a day??? or 2000 mg every 6rs for 8000mg per day??"
[YEA] 08/28/2009: Carolyn from Hobbs, Nm: "This sounds farfetched but it works. It is an old remedy handed down many generation. I've had both feet operated on and had many problems including heel spurs. I don't know why this works it just does. Eat a small handful of golden raisins twice a day and you will see a difference in just a matter of a few days. It must be golden raisins not the dark ones.
Golf Ball Massage
[YEA] 12/11/2008: Luanne from Morris, Illinois: "I had an extremely painful heel spur and elected to go with chiropractic treatments. My chiropracter worked on the muscles and tendons with ultrasound and simple massage. She said the problem was the tendons, ligaments, etc. and that I was loosing the arch in my foot. To get it back she suggested getting a golf ball and rolling it along the arch of the foot (ball on floor, roll with bottom of foot) to work out the tightness and inflamation. This is fairly painful when inflamed, so be prepared(no pain, no gain) After about 6 weeks the pain went away and I have been fine since. By the way, the spur is still there(saw it in an x-ray recently), it just isn't bothering me."Replies
11/23/2011: Rachel from Singapore replies: "I take earth clinic medicine. I was completed healed from the medicine."
Grapefruit Seed Extract
[YEA] 02/17/2011: Cathy from Vernon, Bc, Canada: "I had a heel spur for three years and tried hundreds of dollars in remedies to no avail. Then heard about grapefruit seed extract. I happened to have a small bottle. I applied a few drops to my heel, put a bandaid on to keep the extract on my heel and then went to bed. The next morning it was almost gone, did the same on the second night, next morning completely gone."Replies
08/24/2011: Karie from Delphi, In replies: "where do you get that at?"
08/25/2011: Cathy from Roanoke, Va replies: "Google Grape Seed Extract and you will find a number sources. This is a great essential oil that absorbs quickly and easily into the skin. It's rich in vitamins and minerals, EFA, and is used for dry, damaged, or aging skin."
10/27/2011: Tarashankar from Mumbai, Maharastra, India replies: "I am suffering from heel spur since last 5 years.. Want to try GSE oil.... Where it is available in India.. Is it capsule or oil only?"
Hot and Cold Soaks, Tennis Ball
[YEA] 01/05/2009: Geoff from Neptune, NJ: "Heel Spur Remedy (Cold water/Hot water, Tennis Ball)
I found many of the suggestions quite helpful and ended up combining a number of treatments which had immediate results.
Although my foot did not seem as bad off as some others, it was still impacting my mobility and posture forcing me to walk on the outside of my foot. I was schedule to see a doctor tomorrow and feel as if the treatment has eliminated the need to see the podiatrist. After reading many of the "Standards of Care" remedies used by doctors, they did not sound very helpful. They sounded expensive and invasive...
One tub of very cold water about 3 inches deep. Non chlorinated.
One tub of very hot water with a half cup of epson salt about 3 inches deep. Non chlorinated.
First start by placing the foot in the cold water and leave submerged for about 5-10 minutes or as long as one can stand the extreme cold. Then placing the foot directly into the hot water.
This was repeated twice by replacing the water over a 30 minute period.
Then a tennis ball was used for about 20 minutes under the arch of the foot.
Using a combination of fast rolling and pressing the ball motions, the objective was to compress the ball as much as possible and apply pressure to the back of the arch near the heel.
I intend on following through for several days with this treatment to make sure that the heel is back to normal."
[YEA] 04/27/2009: Cheryl from Scone, Australia: "i have tryed the ice water remedy and found no difference in the time the other people did but after using it constantly for two months it did work and i have not suffered from my spur in the last 18 months to two years i do now highly reccomend it"
[YEA] 01/17/2008: Rajendra Kumar from Berlin, Germany: "Hello, After Reading the comments of Anonymous' and Allen from Cincinnati about the Ice water treatment for the heel spur, i decided to give it a try. BTW, i have the heel spur and the pain for more thn 7 months now. I have taken anti-inflammatory drugs, Cortisone injections and also Shock Wave Therapy for 3 times to get the heel spur cured, but all this did not cure the pain. All these treatments led to somewhat decrease in the pain but did not cure completely. Finally i decided to try some thing else and fortunately i found this forum and the feed back from the users about the Ice water therapy. Yesterday, i decided to try it out. I just took ICE cold water in a tub and immersed my feet in the water for 30 minutes . Already today i find great relief and most of the pain from the heel is gone, since i have done this only once the pain is not gone 100% but around 80% reduction i would say. I plan to continue this regime for few more days. I thought that this feed back might help some one in great pain caused by heel spur . I would suggest you to just try the Ice water therapy, which works wonders."Replies
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 07/01/2010: Mona from Dallas, Tx,usa replies: "Hello Rajendra,

07/16/2010: Arun from Bangalore, Ka/india replies: "Hello Rajendra, Is heel spur completely gone for you? How long did you try ice water therapy? Should one have once/twice daily and how long?
