GENERAL FEEDBACK
02/13/2007: Vivian from Tampa, FL writes: "I started getting gray hair at the age of 39 and started to dye it my natural color. After a few years of dying my hair I came to the conclusion that I am beautiful and that I will look beautiful even if I had gray hair, so I stopped dying it. Even though I feel beautiful with gray hair, I notice a few hairs changing brown again. I think the key is not to believe your old, but to believe you are beautiful, no matter gray or not, then your hair color will change."

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 05/13/2007: Riki from DaLian, China writes: "I have used H2O2 as a mouth wash and cleaning open wounds for nearly 40 years and it always work. I read about all the other remedies on this site! One idea I haven't seen is: I use shampoo out of a bottle until I can pour 100ml H2O2 into it. I have to shake the bottle when I want to use it. I have stayed blond and have no grey hairs and it keeps my scalp healthy."
Replies05/14/2007: Riki from DaLian, China replies: "I am sorry I was not clear. You can try two methods.First I take a bottle of shampoo (i work in ml...hahaha 500ml or 600ml and use some until I can fit about 100ml H2O2 in the bottle, about a 1/4 cup of H2O2). I pour it in and shake the bottle. You have to shake the bottle everytime you use it otherwise the H2O2 comes out first (it is floating on the top). Wash you hair as normal and rinse it. If you can keep it on the hair a few minutes do so. If you keep it on very long like 30 minutes every time your hair will start to become lighter so be careful if you don't want the colour to change.
The second method is more direct and I use it when I feel my scalp needs rejuvenation. (I live in China and I think the water here is not clean and sometime my scalp ich from irritation or dryness). I then just wet my hair and comb in some H2O2 and leave it on to dry. It smells a little but when you then wash and rinse your hair it becomes very soft and shiny.
I have been doing this since the '70s and my hair is really in good condition. I am also happy to report that I have no grey hair! a nice side effect. Regards"
05/19/2007: Riki from DaLian, China replies: "oh yes! 3%...I heard a hairdresser say that 30% is OK but I dillute it so that 100ml goes into 500/600ml. If my calculations are correct then it will work out about 0.3% in the shampoo. When I just brush it into my hair then I use 3% and I only keep it 5 minutes or so......I don't think I will keep it in for 30 minutes!"
04/05/2008: John from Kitchener, Ontario Canada replies: "I was wondering, the remedy for the h2o2 mix with the shampoo. Is this remedy good for just light hair, or is it good for dark hair also. thanks"
[WARNING!] 04/16/2009: Kim from Toronto, Canada replies: "Hi, Please remove the HYDROGEN PEROXIDE remedy from the gray hair remedy page. The same person put three YEA for using HYDROGEN PEROXIDE which will cause bleaching of hair. Thanks"
EC: Thanks for letting us know. The Yea ratings were corrected to 1 YEA (our fault, not Riki's). This may be a good remedy for blondes, so we'd like to leave it up with your warning.
04/17/2009: KR from Rancho Cucamonga, CA replies: "Hi Kim... I understand your concern about the original post but I am blonde and had great success spraying hydrogen peroxide both to give a natural blonde highlight to my hair AND to remove gray simutaneously. I found the original suggestion to add the H202 to the shampoo bottle very harsh for my hair and especially on my scalp but modified to the spray and have been doing this method with incredible results on and off for over a year now ;)"

[YEA] 08/27/2006: Martin from Alameda, CA writes: "I used Bill Munro's inhalation remedy a while back. First thing I noticed was my hair was turning back to brown, from being silver/brown. Also noticed after taking it for the first couple times, when I breathed in, it felt like for the first time I was using ALL of my lungs. This is a VERY WEIRD FEELING ! It's as if your whole life you're only using half your lungs. One thing I want to add. Walgreens may not use stabilizers in their 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. If you look on their label, its not listed on there. All the other brands list stabilizers. I'm hoping that means they don't add stabilizers. Maybe other people can comment on this. Anyway, I stopped using the remedy, but only because I got lazy. But now looking at the sliver creeping back into my hair, my ego and vanity will take over and put me back on the regime. Sigh.........Oh well at least I'll beat all my competition on the tennis courts. Via condias Amigos. ----------- Ps. Another amazing cure for everything from Fibromyalgia to cancer is Glyconutrients. Look it up on the net."

LUGOL'S IODINE

[YEA] 10/04/2006: Bob from Gladstone, OR writes: "I use Iodine - Lugol's Solution: My grey hair and my dog's grey hair both are going back to our natural color. We've been taking in for 6 weeks now. I am 200 pounds and am taking 8-10 drops of Lugol's daily. My dog, at about 100 pounds, gets 4-5 drops daily"
Replies[WARNING!] 01/27/2009: Kwesol from Chicago, IL replies: "It's great that the grey is regrowing as natural color, but make sure to watch our for your thyroid, as iodine overload can lead to hyperthyroidism and other problems, as well as refractory hypothyroidism. Strongly suggesting looking at daily allowance for iodine, as well as cutting out iodized salt and trying natural sea or Himalayan salt. Best of luck and health!"

MOLASSES, WHEAT GERM, VITAMIN C
Ratings:
|
[NAY] 04/22/2008: Donald from Washington, DC writes: "Guys I have tried the 2 tbsp per day (molasses, wheat germ, brewer yeast) and it does NOT work. If our DNA states that we will turn gray by let's say 35 then it is impossible to alter the genetic code. Think about it before you try buying and consuming these supplements."
Replies03/01/2009: Deborah from Saint Augustine, Fl replies: "Re: 04/22/2008: Donald from Washington,DC. I think you should state that it did not work for you; as it has obviously worked for others. And since BSM has many vital minerals it certainly can't hurt! It may be as Kevin from NYC states you may be taking other things that are interfering with its' absorption. Understand too that families tend to eat similarly thus causing what appears to be genetics or heredity. I don't know specifically about graying in your twenties, but in other areas there is a correlation to familial diets and their individual health. As for me I'm going to try it. I could use the trace minerals and iron as well."
08/07/2010: Sarah from Baltimore, Md replies: "Hi Donald, I am not claiming to be a specialist on the theme here, but as far as DNA playing in to greying hair goes I think the scenario is more something like this: our DNA is what determines that around a certain time of our lives (average age 30 ish) the body will start reducing its production of or assimilation of the minerals that play major role in hair color. Reinforcing that mineral or group of minerals (this is the extent of my knowledge on the matter-I'm just referring to the principle of it) rekindles the 'coloring' process back on! On top of that just like deborah suggested, if for some reason it didn't work for you, you still did yrself a big favor by supplementing with many of the minerals our 21st century foods are depleted of."

[YEA] 02/12/2008: IQ from Worchester, MA writes: "Yes for Blackstrap Molasses/Brewer's Yeast/Wheat Germ.
REMEDY: Tried the blackstrap molasses plus Wheat Germ, Brewer's Yeast and Vitamin C multi-vitamin Ailment: Grey Hair 2 Tablespoons Blackstrap Molasses plus 2 Tablespoons Brewer's Yeast, plus 2 Table Spoons Wheat Germ, about 1000% of drv of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid Powder) plus a multi-vitamin."
Replies04/04/2008: Andrea from Montreal, Canada replies: "I was wondering if the wheat germ should be taken raw or should I buy the toasted version? Are there any vitamin or mineral deficiencies when they are toasted?"
11/24/2009: Hasnaa from Denver, Co replies: "has anyone tried putting this stuff straight on the hair as a mask?? I use wheat germ yeast eggs and yogurt on my hair and it makes it thick and healthy. I was wondering if adding BSM will help color the white hair."

MUSTARD OIL

[YEA] 11/17/2007: Janet from Leicester, UK writes: "I was astonished to find my 16 year old son had not 1 but over 23 grey hairs . On speaking to my Asian neighbour , she advised me to massage him daily before bed generously with mustard oil (available very cheaply from asian shops ).Then wash his hair in he morning . After two weeks not a single grey hair ! I tried the same on my self over 40 and over half of my head is grey .So far in one week there' is a marked decrease in the number of grey hairs."
Replies07/04/2008: Brian from Surrey, British Columbia replies: "I am writing in response to Janet who says she uses Mustard Oil for grey hair. I am looking to find out what kind of mustard oil because everything that I have found is poisonous. Some companies won't sell it because of the hazard."
07/11/2008: Jane from Redlands, California replies: "You will be able to find mustard oil in any asian or indian grocery shop. It is very popularly used in India - esp north and east india. Hope this helps. I too am an Indian and have started having too manu grey hair suddenly and am only 27. I've started applying mustard oil and hoping it will help."
11/01/2008: Simona from Irvine, CA replies: "This is for Jane, on Mustard Oil, Hi Jane, you posted on 7-08 that you are trying the mustard oil..., is it working for you, and if so, how are you using it & how much?? ONIONS
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 09/24/2010: Dot from Regina, Sk writes: "Among the multitude of remedies for Grey hair listed on this thread, I have not seen onions mentioned. Onions work for me. Now in my late sixties, with barely a Grey hair, I average one small, raw, yellow onion a day, either in salads or otherwise. With a life style subject to constant changes, there are times, where my nutrition is not always guaranteed. One month with very few or next to no onions, will show up on my hair similar to tree rings - my normal colour, a whitish section, then normal colour, or another whitish section, depending on nutritional circumstances. This is my experience only, and simply and strictly anecdotal. I don't know how onions prevent or even reverse greying hair, all I know, it works for me. Onions, a household staple, inexpensive to obtain, may be the answer for those where other recipes don't work. Simply mix in salads, mix with mayonnaise, or what have you. Warning: Onions being a blood thinner, check with your physician if you are taking any blood thinning medications already. Do not exceed onion intake to more than a medium size yellow onion per day. Women may start to menstruate, even if beyond menopause."

REMEDIES NEEDED
09/09/2011: Sunil from Jalandhe, India writes: "hi, I am 19 years old and my 70% hairs are white. It looks very odd. I want to suggestions that can really help to me to turn my hair black. I use amla powder and paste. but it not working at all please sir help me."
Replies09/09/2011: Renae from Mpls, Mn replies: "research "edgar cayce" He had a natural way to change hair back from gray. I believe it's "formula 636". Also skins from red small potatoes. He was up for sainthood a few times, but was too contravercial. The center for Edgar Cayce research is in Virginia Beach Virginia."
09/09/2011: Jen from Bozeman, Mt, Us replies: "Try drinking blackstrap molasses. It has lots of copper in it which is known to keep hair from going grey. People with copper deficiencies usually go grey early in life. Make sure you are getting enough zinc too if you decide to use a copper supplement as it can make your zinc go deficient if you do one without the other and vise versa."
09/09/2011: Maria from Gippsland, Australia replies: "Hi Sunil, I have seen the results of B-12 weekly injections for a lady (about 40 yrs old) and her hair went from white to only half white. She had been white by about the age of 22. The B-12 was being given for something else. Stress can be a cause thus B vitamins help.Mineral deficiency can be a cause, and I have seen great results from colloidal minerals taken at a dose of 30mls per 100 lb of body weight taken at this dose for about 3 months then back to a lower dose. I am also currently observing good results from Shilajit (1g BD) on someone who was about 10% gray and it has all gone back to normal 18 months on.
Whilst copper can be a cause it can also be other minerals, in 2 people I know copper was deffinately not the cause as their blood tests showed excess copper thought to be due to copper pipes in the plumbing of houses.
As Shilajit is a cheaper way of getting your minerals I would look into it and also taking B-12 plus an additional B complex. It would also be worthwhile checking that your diet does not have nutrient depleating foods like white flour, carbonated drinks, junk food and even switching from white rice to wholegrain rice. All the best."
09/09/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Hi Sunil, I think gray hair is caused by a mineral deficiency in your body. You need to replenish the minerals in your body.Do you know anyone in India that knows about Ayurvedic remedies? They could probably advise you the best.
What I am doing for my gray hair is having spirulina, chlorophyl and chlorella. You can also juice as many green vegetables as you can and drink them. Black strap molasses is a good source of minerals as well. If you can drink mineral water as well.
Get a copper mug and fill it with water at night and drink from it the next morning. It is also done in Ayurvedic medicine and will revert your hair back to its natural colour. It is also very healthy and will purify the water from toxins and bacteria."
09/10/2011: Maria from Gippsland, Australia replies: "Hello again, Had a thought about Ashwagandha as the person who had success with the shilajit is also taking Ashwagandha. Did a search and found that it helps turn gray hair normal if it was due to stress. The reason I feel B complex is worth taking is that both biotin and folic acid deficiencies can contribute to gray hair. There are quite a few success stories here on EC so have a read of them too."
09/10/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Debbie, I read that Alzheimer's is connected with a deposit of zink and copper in the brain, aren't you afraid of drinking water from a copper mug? I started taking copper which I bought in the pharmacy but within a few days my mouth was very dry and tasting bad so I stopped. For the time being I am only taking the Chlorella, Spirulina and Chlorophyl. By the way, I was tested for Sjogren's and luckily I don't have it."
09/10/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Hi Francisca, thanks for your concern. I will do some more research on it.The ancients used to store all their water in copper urns because it kills off bacteria and made took out the toxins from the water. Many people in India do the same today. I will research what if any effects it has had on them.
To Courtney whose family on her mums side all went gray early, a vitamin/mineral deficiency can be carried genetically so if a grandmother was deficient it can carry to the baby and so on. I have definitely reversed some of my gray hair. I used to have a definite line where my hair grew out at the front and now it is half gray/half my normal colour whereas before it was mostly just gray. There are many many many more of my normal colour strands there.
I went gray early and I plan to fight it especially if it is a mineral deficiency."
09/10/2011: Jen from Bozeman, Mt, Us replies: "I will have to agree that the mineral deficiency carries down through the family. My family is Irish and we all started greying around 25 years old. I started supplimenting with copper for my hyperthyroid and my hair is at least 50% less grey than it was when I started about 5 months ago. Obviously going grey is a natural process but not at 19 years old. You should be able to take a hair strand test and see what minerals you are deficient in. I t could very well be any of the ones mentioned above. It can't hurt and I found myself very pleased with this side effect from copper."
09/10/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Hi Francisca and everyone else. I thought I would add that garlic and cilantro (corriander in Australia) and other foods are very good at detoxing the body of excess heavy metals. Heavy metals actually play a very important role in our body. Copper is an extremely important metal for the brain, and without it iron and other metals won't assimilate properly. Here is a link from earthclinic about detoxing from heavy metals in the body.
http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/heavy_metals_questions.html"
09/11/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Thanks Debbie, I would appreciate if you would let me know what you found out!"
09/11/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Jen, I am not sure whether going gray is not a natural phenomenon as we grow older because we let it be! From all I have read it seems that it is nothing more than a mineral dificiency, therefore it could be easily helped by supplying the body with the minerals it is missing, therefore you see now so many supplements appearing on the market that tackle gray hair."

09/09/2011: Connie from Slc, Ut writes: "Hi Sunil; Premature graying of hair is oftentimes a symptom of B12 deficiency."
Replies09/10/2011: Courtney from Granite Bay, Ca replies: "Some people are genetically pre-disposed to gray hair. My mom's side of the family all went gray early (and since there were twelve of them, I doubt it had anything to do with their vitamin/mineral intake) and my brother started getting gray hairs in his very early 20's. By the time he hit 30, he was completely gray."

SOUR APPLES
03/02/2009: Mark from Silver Spring, MD USA writes: "Read this on Yahoo. Scientists have appeared to have uncovered the reason hair turns gray; it's a low level of the enzyme, catalase. Researched that and came upon a web site, albeit hawking a product, discussed studies about apples. Three different studies, one in Russia, one in China and one in Spain, showed that, in laboratory animals, giving them an extract of sour apples increased their lifespan and for human application, eating sour apples(Granny Smith, for example)reversed gray hair. How many apples per day it didn't say and as I stated, this was from a web site that had an apple supplement to sell. I've started eating 3-4 apples a day. Let's see."

[YEA] 01/18/2007: Kathy from West Salem, IL writes: "My mother always was into the pickle jar. She loved vinegar. She really never got grey hair because of this .so folks, eat the pickles if you want to keep grey away. Myself I began using soy protein and one day after washing my hair my daughter commented "Why are you dying your hair." I had just washed it ..so this was a surprise to me to find that soy powder had done this. I also was using B complex so maybe that combination had some benefits too."

[YEA] 12/24/2006: Charlane from San Antonio, TX writes: "Granny was spot on with the apple cider vinegar. She was pH balancing. You can get the same effect but eating an orange or drinking lemonade everyday. You can supplement with 500 - 1000 mg. of vitamin C but this will work to counteract all of that acidic coffee, chocolate, sausage, etc. that we eat regularly. Yes, citrus is acidic but it ALKALINIZES the blood. If you pH is at least 7, you will never get cancer or a fever or a cold either. It works. Just do a search on the internet for pH diet and check out the lists of foods. BTW, I use honey everyday. In addition to being a perfect food, local honey keeps you from getting allergies with bees being kind enough to collect pollen from all of the nearby plants. I never get sick anymore either."

VITAMIN B COMPLEX

[YEA] Lynne from Anchorage, Alaska writes: "I came upon my grey hair remedy purely by accident! Am 49 and have been gray since 17. For the past 30 years have dyed my hair but finally got tired of it. Let it go. Was shocked at how gray I had become!
About 2 months ago, my husband was told his red blood cells were of low count, so I went to _____and bought him some ______B Complex. We both started taking it.
A few weeks later, he said the sides of my hair were turning brown. I hadn't noticed, as I only look in the mirror to comb my hair really quick. Sure enough, I saw brown hair at the roots!
So, I'm wondering if some people like myself have been living with a Vitamin B deficiency our whole lives. I remember being a kid and having to go to the doctor for B complex shots because I was so tired all the time (at the age of about 11).
Maybe this will help someone. In another couple of weeks, I'm going to have a haircut and will report back what appears after that!"
Replies04/28/2009: Hiltonsister from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia replies: "An american MD writing as "Adele Davis" refers to a case where a lady whose medical condition required her to eat liver found her hair's natural colour returning overnight. Of cors, liver is an excellent source of the B group. I have taken a multi vitamin almost every day for 30 years and am only now, at 59, beginning to turn grey at the temples. I cook liver only occasionally, so now I'm going to get into the B12 supplement. Wholegrain foods are also a staple for me. I wouldn't mind turning grey if it suited me. But it looks frightful!"
07/17/2009: Tyra from Los Angeles, California replies: "Hi Lynne, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on using ________Vitamin B Complex for reversing pre-mature gray hair....
I am 26 years old and started to gray 2-3 years back... I am so shocked to see how rapidly my grays have started increasing... and have to keeping colouring my hair to cover the grays.... This has started to worry me terribly now... I have been taking the _________Vitamin B Complex since a week after reading your post... Hoping that this works for me as well...
Would really appreciate if you could tell me as to approximately how much time did it take for your hair to start growin back to it's natural colour after taking these pills... Any other advice/suggestions are welcome... Thanks...."
11/28/2011: Habibi L'amour from Alexandria, Egypt replies: "The hair becoming coloured from eating liver is probably due to catalase being present in liver - catalase deficiency is the cause of grey hair."

VITAMIN B, FOLIC ACID
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 06/07/2007: David from Titusville, FL writes: "I just turned 60 and I still have my brown hair. I attribute this to taking B vitamins in a 50 mg. complex (50 mg. of each B vitamin in one capsule), and two or three 800 mcg. of folic acid tablets. The B vitamins are known to be a stress reliever. Remember the old saying how kids can give you gray hairs? It's true! Stress can make the gray come in! The B vitamins inositol and choline are important for the color of your hair. Did you know that some wool companies deliberately make their sheep deficient in these two B vitamins so that the wool will be much whiter?! Folic Acid also helps with hair growth and had been named after the word Folicule, meaning hair! Looking younger than your age and knowing that you didn't dye your hair to look younger makes people ask if you found the fountain of youth! Try the B vitamins and folic acid for at least 6 months and you make notice a great change!"
Replies03/20/2008: Jim Nazium from Rutherford, NJ, USA replies: "I'm 39 years old and been suffering from gray hair since the age of 27. I would like to try Vitamin B complx and Folic Acid. Do I need to take Vitamin C and Folic Acid alone (each in a separate capsule) or would taking a multi-vitamin which includes Vitamin C and Folic Acid be just as effective? In other words, with all of the many other vitamins and minerals in a multi-vitamin, would the folic acid and vitamin C be as effective in a MV compared to just taking a Vitamin C capsule and a Folic Acid capsule?"

WHITE POTATOES

|
[YEA] 09/03/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa writes: "Gray Hair Remedies
If you make a Tea out of the peelings of old white potatoes then strain it, and add any seasonings to make it taste better - that will make your hair turn back to its natural color. The way to do it is to get an atlas mason jar and put the peelings into it and then close it loosely and put it in a pot lined with a towel to keep it from breaking. Boil it for about an hour to get all the potatoes vitamin properties. Then carefully open it with another towel and strain it. Then add your seasonings. Do it 1-2 times a day for as long as it takes to get your hair back to it's natural color. You can use the potato that you don't use to shred it and make a poultice for your eyes with it. It is great for the eyes!!"
Replies09/04/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Do you add water to the potato peels, Brook? And won't we be getting much of the chemicals the potatoes are treated with as well? What is the benefit for the eyes?"
EC: Yes, add water.
09/04/2010: Kay from In The Valley, Ca replies: "I'm a little confused about this remedy. Does the skin need to be peeled very thin without flesh, or can some of the potato be attached? Do you need to make a fresh batch of potato skin tea each time you drink it, or can you make it and use it for a couple of days or even just the same day? What is the ratio of skin to water, is it like the skin of one potato (maybe 1/4 cup) to a cup of water? And, lastly, what exactly do you mean by an OLD potato, is that growing eyes, shriveled up, etc. ? Sorry for so many questions, I just don't know where to start. Thanks so much for taking the time to share with us."
09/08/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx replies: "Sorry Kay - I will give you some direct quotes from the Edgar Cayce Readings -
(Q) What can I do, if anything, about my hair turning gray so prematurely?
(A) With those shocks to the nervous system there has been changed a great deal of the pigment, or the flow of the activities. If you would prevent the hair from turning gray, let at least two meals each day be taken of the peeling of Irish potatoes - it'll turn it to its normal color again! They may be cooked, yes. 32.(Q) What is lacking in my system that is causing my hair to gray, and what can I do to prevent it?
(A) Eat more potatoes; that is, the skins of same, and we will find it'll change the color back more. The PEEL, not the pulp! 33.(Q) What is best to use on my hair at this time?
(A) Any of those influences or forces that we have indicated are well for same. Nothing better than White Vaseline and a WEAK solution of alcohol; but grain alcohol, NOT that which has been denatured. 34.(Q) How should the potatoes be cooked with the peelings?
(A) Either baked or boiled. The Readings have continually recommended the addition to the diet of the juice made from Irish potato peelings. Stew the peels of three or four potatoes in a little water and drink the juice, about twice a week.
Cayce Quotes on Potato
257-228
The peelings of potatoes don't of themselves make hair grow if everything else is done to prevent it! But it tends to stimulate, to keep the activities in such a manner as to be beneficial. For this body, or any other body - if it desires to use it - though it's rather late for this body to undertake to grow back hair, when it might have followed this procedure some twenty years ago and prevented the loss of the hair; but for most bodies, about an ounce of the potato peeling juice taken every few days is beneficial. It also carries the salts that are helpful in stimulating an activity for better assimilating forces in the body. For it tends to keep a balance. But remember, much depends upon the manner in which such potatoes are used, - where and how they are grown, and how prepared. But in general, these are beneficial in the manner indicated. 2011-2
(Q) How can I keep my hair from turning gray?
(A) The citrus fruit juices and the regular weekly use of the juice from the Irish potato peel. Peel the potato and make a soup of the peelings, see. Take this weekly. This, with the character of the dressing for the hair, should correct this condition. 3900-1
(Q) Is there any real benefit to be gained from the "gray hair" vitamins?
(A) Upset stomach is usually gained! If you desire to prevent gray hair, drink at least once each week half a pint of juice prepared from Irish potato peelings. Just the peelings, not the bulk of the potato. This will aid in keeping the correct color in hair. 5197-1
(Q) How can I improve texture of hair?
(A) Better be glad that you have it, but the peelings of Irish potato boiled and taken once a day will improve the texture of the hair. This will require a long period of about six months. Two ounces of this fresh juice a day. 774-2
While there are those conditions that still disturb the body with the manner in which there is the inflammation in the eye, or in the lids and the iris, these - as we find - are somewhat on the improve. We would use the potato poultice, scraped old Irish potato - not new; put the scraped potato in a gauze and place on the eye (with it closed); not the potato directly to the eye in this particular case, but in a gauze, and sufficient quantity of it to fill the whole socket space. Let this remain as the body rests, for an hour to an hour and a half; then take off. It will be found that considerable amount of inflammation will be drawn out. Do this for two to three days, or two or three evenings; then rest by leaving it off for two or three days - if it makes for too great an irritation, which at times it would, dependent upon the newness or oldness of the potato, you see, that is used. When the poultice is removed each time, cleanse the eye with a weak solution of boric acid. This will make for a cleansing of the inflammation from these conditions. 5499-1
Do not use the new potato; that is, use the potato of the year previous, and scrape same and lay over the eye of evenings, and cleanse same afterward with a weak solution of Boric Acid. 2638-1
.... We would apply a scraped Irish potato poultice over the eyes; that is, scrape an OLD Irish potato (not new potato) and apply between gauze. Let this remain on the eye for at least thirty to forty minutes. Then bathe off the eyes (when this is removed) with a weak eye lotion
I hope this helps!"

12/16/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa replies: "I would think that any white potato would work. Also get a formula with the following in it : Lactated Pepsin, Black Snake Root Extract, Essence of Wild Ginseng, Atomic Iodine, Extract of Liver, and Grain Alcohol - you can look that up and get it online. I have used it for approx 2 months now and have noticed a HUGE change in my hair - color and thickness!"
12/20/2010: Patroce from Nashua, Nh replies: "Could you be more specific re this remedy you suggest for gray hair. I've gone thru this entire post and can find no other post preceding yours. Thank you"
12/21/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa replies: "Hello Patroce,
I am not sure of your question - however, I will put it all together for you! Take the peelings of white potatoes and put them in patapar paper (look that up), it is basically wax paper without any wax on it. Put the peelings in the paper and take each side and pull up, making a little "pocket" for the potato peelings and put a rubber band, or tie it up so that it is really tight!! Put that in some water that is boiling already, if you want to add a little water to the peelings, then just add a tsp. , however, I don't add any. This supplies some essential elements that are needed by our bodies for proper thyroid function. Some other things you can add to your diet for proper thyroid activity are - citrus fruit juices; orange juice plus lemon juice or grapefruit juice plus lime juice; carrots; and seafoods. And avoid fried foods, starches, refined sugars, onions and garlic. Next thing is to have a Pennsylvania Crude oil massage on your scalp from 1/2 hr to 1 hour - depending on the time you have. Followed by a massage with petroleum jelly. The way that I have always done it is I put my petroleum into my crude oil bottle. It takes a while, but I have a thick crude oil that is easy to pour into my hair. (I now have two different crude oil bottles that I use, if you do this, then just take out approx an ounce to 2 ounces of oil and put in an ounce to ounces of Vaseline. Put your other oil into another container and add the same to that. ) I take a little and put it into the cap and then just pour on approx 4-6 caps all over my scalp. Then I take a hand held massager with a cup attachment and go over it for 30min-1hr. I usually do it in the morning before anyone get up!
Next you get into the shower and put some grain alcohol (one drop of grain alcohol to one ounce of water) onto your scalp, this is to close your pores.
Do this one time a week. I also take a mixture of: A simple syrup (sugar) base blended with Elixir of Lactated Pepsin, Liquid Liver Extract, Fluid Extracts of Black Snake Root and Wild American Ginseng, Atomic Iodine and Grain Alcohol. Each 1/2 teaspoon provides. 225mg or 150% of the Recommended Daily Allowance of Iodine. So I recommend seeing a Dr before starting this formula, because of the Iodine. And if you are taking any Iodine supplements then you should not take them anymore because of this formula, if you get it. I use a pendulum and kinesiology for taking my formula, so if you can learn how to do that it would be the best. I took it 3x a week the first two weeks and then left it off I think a week, and then I repeated that, and now I only take it one x a day for 5 days and leave it off for 5 days. However, you would need to follow your own intuition for taking it. What works for me, doesn't necessary work for someone else! I also have a "violet ray" which can be very dangerous!! You can NOT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL on the day you use it. However, I think that the "violet ray" is just a better way to get the circulation up to the scalp. The small vibrator would be enough. I have experimented with my hair forever!!!! (15 years) If you decide to get a "violet ray", then you NEED TO LOOK ON THE INTERNET FOR ALL OF THE WARNINGS!! Then I use the Olive oil shampoos and conditioners for my hair. I have found that my hair doesn't do well with the olive oil conditioner, so I just put the olive oil conditioner onto the scalp part of my hair and then I add my favorite conditioner to the bottom of my long hair! (By the way, I have NEVER had hair past my shoulders that didn't look healthy, and now I do!! )
I hope this clears up some things for you, and every one. It is also the best way to stop the balding process and to regrow balding or even balded hair. The bald head can be regrown this way, only if it is not from a fungus that has attacked the cuticle."

[YEA] Doug from Phoenix, Airheadzona writes: "It's an Edgar Cayce remedy and it truly works to cure grey hair. Peel the skins of 2 white potatoes and tie them up in patapar paper. Put them in a pan and let boil (just a slight boil) for 12 to 15 minutes. When done, let it cool for a few minutes and eat the skins. Also, drink the water. I, personally use 3 to 4 cups of water. Do this every other day, and in a few months you will see a tremendous difference. You will notice some difference in a few weeks, but be patient. Good luck."
RepliesEC: Patapar Paper is Vegetable Cooking Parchment. Easy to find on the internet, just do a google search.
03/04/2009: Fatima from Indianapolis, Indiana replies: "Hi, I have a question, do you keep eating the skin potato for ever ( i mean for all your life ) ? even after u notice a positive result ?
Thank you for all of you, Fatima."
06/27/2009: Doug from Phoenix, Airheadzona replies: "Hello Fatima. I sincerely apologize for not getting back sooner. After sending in my remedy I have not been back to the sight. Yes, it is necessary to continue using the white potato remedy, ( maybe just twice a week after getting results ), or your hair will slowly start graying again. I learned this the hard way, lol. However, the skins and juice of the potatoes will improve the skin as well. In fact, I believe that has even been more impressive. Take care. Bless and be blessed.doug"

02/01/2012: Evolution from Gatineau, Qc Canada replies: "German Canadian from Gatineau Quebec interjects:Boiled potato water is fantastic for rough skin , you'll notice instantly, acts quicker than urine, but I am going to try ground up potato just for fun, but since the power seems to be in the skin, I'll try to peel thick and grind that up raw and see. (as green banana peels and their stems for warts and grape skin especilly for rejuvenation), makes me think that I will from now on stop swallowing them and rather chew them really well, e.g. slow food, thanks for all the inspirations!!"
