3 BETTER BUT NOT CURED
1 WORKED TEMPORARILY
[YEA] 05/02/2007: Paras from Long Beach, California writes: "I have had periodic gout attacks for about 3.5 years and really never gave to much thought to ACV. After a recent excruciatingly painful bout that festered in my ankle, I gave the ACV a try and I am definitely using ACV on a daily basis. Within 2 hours the pain had subsided. I believe with the correct dosage of ACV and a healthy diet and exercise, I hope gout will no longer be a problem."

[YEA] 03/25/2007: Len from London, Ontario, Canada writes: "I tried ACV to help releive my gout on my right foot big toe, the pain was getting worse I found the earthclinic web site read the reports on the use of ACV for gout and decided to try it to my suprise it has worked after taking for 1 week 2 tbl mixed with water 3 times a day after my meals, after taking ACV for just 2 days I noticed the pain was not as bad I also noticed that my right knee that I have had problems with for over 8 months was getting better I can now bend my knee fully again I thought my knee was done & was about to see a doctor about it, & on top of that my blood preasure was slightly high is now well within normal range. I cannot belive that the medical profesion does not know about this, all the wasted time & money spent on on these problems can be solved with a simple remedy ACV. Many thanks to earthclinic web site & ACV. Len from London Ontario"

[NAY] 03/20/2007: Phil from Las Vegas, NV writes: "I've tried ACV for gout and have had zero success. Has anyone else not experienced all the salutory effects like myself? I'm thinking there may be other problems. Any ideas? I drink plenty of water, don't drink alcohol but do drink a venti Starbucks coffee every day. Sometimes I think these sites are created by the manufacturer's for their benefit. If you're reading this, well then my theory is flawed but any suggestions would help."
05/09/2008: Robert from Sparta, TN replies: "Caffeine causes the proteins to break quicker. That could be a factor in your gout attacks. I have had gout on and off for 21 years. I have tried everything known to man except the ACV. I will try it right now."
05/10/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "Hello Roberta, from Sparta, Tn. I have heard a PhD botanist say that celery seed is good for the gout, but have never checked it out. I also am not sure if he was talking about that found in herb/spice section of grocery or not and I remember reading somewhere that this is not actually celery seed although it imparts a celery flavor to foods its cooked in. You being one of us TN "hillbillies" you should know what poke sallet is. Those pretty berries that you'll have to wait until this fall to collect, I can vouch for. They are not poison for I have been taking them for years & I'm still alive and kicking. At the time I started taking them, my health was worse then, than it is now - every joint in my body hurt - even my ribs hurt when I breathed. Life is a lot more enjoycable now, even though I am 39 or 40 years older than when I started taking them."

[YEA] 03/20/2007: Diane from Fullerton, CA writes: "I got terrific pain in my left big toe (which I have also had fungus under the nail for a long time) It was swollen and sore. I found the information about Apple Cider Vinegar and tried it...it was wonderful! I take it in the morning and evening. I pour some in a small glass, add water and 3 packets of Splenda. I have passed this on to friends and another tried it and it worked for him too. Yahoo for ACV!"

[YEA] 03/19/2007: Mark from Fairfax, VA writes: "i have been plagued with the gout, and i tell you its the most painful thing i have experienced. i have developed it in my left foot big toe. i am 36 , and i think my bad diet, and beer, and whiskey consumption were the major factors in my problem. i weigh 225, and i am 5 foot 11. over weight slightly as well. i am currently trying black cherry concentrate juice, and the cherry extract pills. before i bought these today i did try apple cider vinegar, blahh nasty, but the swelling went down pretty fast to my surprise! i still have a pain in the middle of my foot left of my big toe, but i can walk now. i never thought i could get something like this, but it can happen to anyone. i will tell if the cherry stuff works it out completely. for now i got my fingers crossed, and i am going to change my habits alot. drinking eating good food in moderation i think is a better idea. plus too much of a good thing spoils, and you'll get the gout!! good luck all, and drink plenty of water."

[YEA] 01/21/2007: Sandi from Altadena, CA writes: "Last week I had an attack of gout, it was probably the worst I have ever experienced! It was in my right foot and ankle and just walking to the bathroom brought tears to my eyes. I was taking Naprosyn and Aleve and it was not working. In desperation I called several health food stores in my area and asked if any remedies for gout were on the shelves. One said he had invented a wine, one said cherry root and one said _______'s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day. My husband went to that store and bought the ACV. I took one tablespoon twice that day and the next morning my foot was normal! I was astounded, I could not believe it. I called the health food store and told them that I was taking the ACV by the tablespoon and he said to dilute it with water because it was too acidic alone. I don't mind the taste by itself but I am diluting it. In two weeks I am going to try eating shrimp and see what happens and I will post the results of that food test on this site. I realized that drug companies and doctors don't want us to know this for greed reasons but I intend to tell everyone I ever knew about this remedy for gout."

[YEA] 12/20/2006: Tandy from Montreal, MO writes: "First thing in the morning I pour a large glass of filtered water (using a PUR water pitcher) with 2 tbls of ACV added. Since beginning this while under a severe gout attack in the base of my left big toe where I had once suffered a break, I have had NO more attacks and have changed absolutely nothing else in my daily life. I not only recuperated faster than normal from the severe attack, but the swelling that was always in that toe knuckle before, is no longer there. Yes it tastes bad, but a few seconds of bitter aftertaste verses excruciating pain is a trade-off I'll make every time."

[YEA] 12/01/2006: Jeff from Dayton, OH writes: "This was my first experience with gout (in my left big toe) so I researched the internet for natural cures. I found out that apple cider vinegar was one of the fastest cures available. Before bed I took 2ozs. with honey, when I woke up in the morning the swelling was gone and although I still had some pain I could at least walk again. I took another 2ozs. before I left for work and after 2 or 3 hours the pain was minimal to the point that I could curl my toe again."

[YEA] 11/08/2006: Johnny from Los Angeles writes: "What can I say. This stuff is the bomb. I have suffered from gout for what seems like ever, and prior to taking ACV had what I thought was a gouty knee ( sure enough it was ) which had been sore and swollen for almost two months. At my wits end ( the wife's nagging finally made me go to the quack ) I went and had my knee x-rayed and blood tests taken etc, only to have the Dr tell me that my blood pressure was 192 / something......HOLY CRAP!! Having too many drinks during the week was not contributing to my health, plus not having been hiking for some time was driving me nuts as well. Either way it was a wake up call. So, one night while I sat with my knee up, I surfed the net and found something about ACV. So I had a crack at it. What could I lose? Two days later, my knee was no longer hot to the touch, was feeling better ( but I was still looking at it dubiously ) and I wondered if there was something to this vinegar cure. Well, bugger me. It works. My wife was amazed as she watched my knee slowly lose the swelling ( as was I ) and my tenancy to retain water in my ankles while sitting at work stopped. Just like that. Stopped. My joints in general feel so much better. My skin feels better too. I seem to have more energy and I noticed that when one drinks ACV, well my wife and I anyways, I start to feel hot. If I exercise I start to sweat 10x quicker than I use to. This to me shows that my metabolic rate has increased. Yesterday, we bought a Blood pressure monitor at Costco, and when I got home I gave my wife and myself a hell of a shock. 3 weeks ago, I was 192/ ? ( forgot ) and had the wife almost comatose with worry at how high my pressure was. Last night - 137 / 80 ( taken average of 3 tests ) and considering I had gout that was on the start as well ( left toe ) which had developed just prior to taking ACV - plus a stressful day at work, I was STOKED! So was the wife. I decided I should check this morning though, as its an ideal time to check your true pressure as one is still relaxed etc. Hows this....
127/78- Bloody hell. Its awesome.
My toe with its gout, is on the mend as well and my knee is basically at the 98% mark. All this after only three weeks. I drink a shot glass ( 2 ounce that once hosted my Tequila ) in a glass of Lemonade ( Paul Newmans or any other half decent brand ) with a little diet sprite flung in there as well. Makes a nice tangy spritzer type drink. That's it. We are both sold. It has now become our daily regimen. To the ancients out there that cottoned onto this cure......THANKS!"

[YEA] 10/16/2006: Wayne from Umhlanga Rocks, Kwazulu Natal South Africa writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar has cured high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and gout. 2 tbl spoons in a glass of cold water every morning. This is truly God's gift to mankind. You will never need another pill, ever. By the way, the gout was caused by taking the pills prescribed by my doctor. (rosuvastatin 10 mg ). It's such a pleasure to be able to pass on such good news. God bless you all."

[YEA] 06/23/2006: Mike from Placida FL writes: "I was having an attack that lasted between December 2005 and April 2006. The gout slipped in and out of the acute stage several times, but was always present. I limped for almost 5 months. One Sunday afternoon, it was becoming acute so I tried ACV. Two tablespoons in the afternoon and 2 at night worked. I was walking the next day. This has never happened before. Once an acute attack started, it always took several days to subside to the point I could walk and even longer to be pain free (4 -5 weeks). I used ACV three times per day mixed in blueberry or black cherry juice for a month. Since then I reduced the intake to once a day. (I used juice concentrate, ACV and water to make it taste a little better). Here's the result: Absolutely no pain since mid-April and my toe joint swelling has been significantly reduced - the smallest in 10 years. And 2 days ago I ran 5 miles on my treadmill. I have made no other dietary or lifestyle change; this result can only be explained (to me at least) by the use of ACV. Mike
PS: I used the _______'s product. It costs about $5.00 in health food stores."

[YEA] 01/20/2006: Sheila writes: "Can someone tell me how much to drink when you get a gout attack? It helped keep the swelling down some but for 2 days it still hurt like the dickens."

[YEA] 08/11/2005: Mike from Brooklyn, NY writes: "apple cider vinegar seems to be working for me also. 2 tablespoons in 8 oz of water 3 times a day,i also make a blueberry and strawberry smoothie at night. i stopped taking colchicine because it is poison and depletes your bone marrow,i feel a lot better and haven't had gout in a long time. my doctors don't seem to be any help for my condition. all they want to do is prescribe drugs. i'm tired of them poisoning me. you should also be tired of it colchicine is a pool cleaner in large doses they use it to clean pools and can kill you in high doses why do they want us to ingest poison?"

[YEA] Al from Big Lake, MN writes: "I was having the worst gout attack in years, the pain brought me to tears, as my left foot was swollen to the ankle. Ibuprofen did not work even in large doses. My wife gave me 2tbsp of organic apple cider vinegar mixed with 2 tbspn of organic honey (2 times daily); within 3 hours I was walking around with minimal pain and 1 day later I was able to put on my shoes and walk with little pain on the third day it's almost all gone. Amazing, considering it usually lasts for at least 1 week, I am an absolute believer in this remedy."

[YEA] Thomas from Tomball, Texas writes: "Re: Gout! I have suffered from gout for many years and I eat right. I admit to being a gourmet cook and use cream and rich ingredients on a regular basis, but I get my veggies and other nutrients. I feel this attack was caused by stress, because I did not have any rich foods prior to the attack, and I had to deal with hurricane Rita. I usually have an attack only once per year. I recently found this site when I had an acute attack and could not take it any more. I was ready to cut my foot off because of the pain. I used ACV both internally (4 times per day, 2tlbs with 8 oz. of water) and externally as a pain reliever directly on my foot. I was able to walk on my foot the following day when I could not put any pressure on it the day before. On the second day the swelling had decreased enough to wear a shoe and go to work although by the end of the day the swelling showed. On the third day the pain was nearly gone and my foot was almost normal. This is an incredible remedy for someone who's previous acute attacks lasted for at least one week. Thank you for creating this site and I plan to share it with everyone that I know who is suffering from this painful affliction."

[YEA] Lori from Maine writes: "My significant other has suffered with gout since 2003. His doctor prescribed the usual pills that didn't work. His pain & swelling got worse. I found info on the web about trying cherries. He ate loads of fresh cherries & it got better. I bought him bottles of organic cherry juice, he drank a quart one night and the next day it was almost gone. This year his blood sugar was high when he got an attack of gout. I read on this site about the apple cider vinegar. He agreed to try it, drank 2 tbsp mixed with a cup of water 3 times a day... got out of bed the next morning and it was almost gone! Amazing. Yesterday, a co-worker was limping. When asked what happened he said "GOUT!". I got him to try the apple cider vinegar and this morning he walked into work without a limp! He said it was 90% gone and the only thing that has ever worked! It's amazing."

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA
[YEA] 11/13/2008: JJ from Wichita, KS/USA writes: "ACV & baking soda: I woke up one morning with an ache in my thumb and by the next day I had my first attack of Gout. A friend, who is an MD gave me a script for colchozine and I got absolutely no relief from taking that, prednizone and large amounts of ibuprophen. It hurt so badly for four days, I was starting to freak out! I went to our local health food store and bought $100 worth of supplements and began taking things like cherry, celery seed, alfalfa and fatty acids. Then that night I found a web site that told me to take ACV & baking soda in 6 - 8 oz. of water. I did it that night and thought I felt some relief but didn't want to be too hopeful. In the night I woke up and took more water and baking soda only. (I understood the chemistry behind the soda offsetting the acid) I woke up disappointed that it was not better at all. I found this web site and I decided to try the ACV & Baking soda again and amazingly withing 20 minutes I began feeling a lot of relief. I kept up the same regiment of supplements but with the ACV & baking soda twice a day. After 4 days I'd say I'm 90% recovered. The pain was much reduced after 1 1/2 days. I still have a small knot and some tenderness in one spot! Thanks so much!!!"

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, BAKING SODA, CHERRY JUICE
[YEA] 02/24/2009: John from Indianapolis, IN writes: "just reading all of the testimonials about acv gout was very helpful for me. i am on my 4th big bottle of unfiltered organic acv. it is most helpful in keeping my ph in 7 range. i use it to help maintain the ph and keep from having a gout attack. when i feel the twinges, however, i switch to baking soda and reduce the acv from 3 times a day to once or twice. i think the baking soda remedy is more effective DURING an attack. acv has so many other health benefits and my doctor told me it can't hurt. plus it is so cheap. cherry juice and acv when things are going well ----cherry juice and baking soda in higher doses when the conditions are ripe for an attack. my 2 cents"

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, BLACK CHERRY JUICE
[YEA] 10/02/2009: Bob from Dallas, Tx writes: "I had a Gout attack a few years back and remembered hearing about home remedies. Found a formula for 1 oz Apple Cider Vinegar (1 shot glass) in 1 cup hot water with a tsp of honey. Picked up the ACV at my local grocery store fixed my ACV tea each evening while i watched TV and the gout was gone in about 3 days. About a year later I was on a business trip and started developing symptoms so off to the store for ACV and this time nothing happened. I was upset and could hardly walk through the airport. When I got home I looked at the ACV I had used before found it was organic. The stuff I picked up on my trip was from a local drug store and was distilled. Tried the formula with my organic and again the pain and swelling was gone in a couple of days. I have also started taking Black Cherry juice. You can get a name brand cranberry/cherry mix at the store. I like the cranberry because I'm prone to kidney stones which cranberry juice helps. I pick up a bottle of concentrate cherry juice and add 1/2 a bottle to the prepackaged cranberry/cherry mix. I drink about 1 or 2 8oz glasses a week and have been gout free for over 2 years."
