[YEA]  Celery seed works great for gout. I take 1 capsule twice a day and rarely have anymore joint pain.

[YEA]  I'm 70 year old and suffered from occasional severe gout attacks. Someone told me to try celery seed but we didn't have any so I tried regular celery but without success. My wife picked up a bottle of celery seed and I started putting a 1/2 teaspoon on my salad everyday and if we didn't have salad for dinner, I put it in a small glass of vegetable juice. I started doing that last August and have not had an attack since then. The good thing is that I'm eating and drinking whatever I want without worrying about any of the symptoms that are experienced with some food and drink. Celery seed is available at the grocery store near the spice area and if you try it and it works for you, check in the big box stores where you can get a large bottle at a considerably lower price and it lasts for a long time. I don't know of any side effects and haven't experienced any.

[YEA]  I have had gout flare-ups from time to time. First time prescribed meds took over a week. Next time tried celery seed extract. It has worked every time since, in 2 days or less. When I feel it coming on, I just take 2 or 3 capsules. AM, noon, and night. It must say Celery Seed Extract 85% 3NB on the lable. Hope this helps!

[YEA]  1 Cup minimum per day dark sweet cherries, frozen are great, Blended, the finer the puree the easier they are absorbed. Mix with a little honey, milk, ice, even protein powder. The mix is your call, but I guarantee good results with minimum 1 cup per day.

[YEA]  My Dad and Husband were both over-the-road truck drivers, and both suffered/suffer with gout in their left foot (the one requires for all the shifting of an 18 wheeler). My Dad heard about cherries. Both Dad & Hubby now are retired and still have gout flare ups. Both now reach for a can of canned water packed tart red cherries (not pie filling), available in the canned fruit section of most grocery stores. Within hours both my Dad & Hubby have the same results - the gout flare up completely subsides. I vouch for the cherry cure. Only one time did it ever take 2 cans of cherries for my husband.

[YEA]  Eat a full can of tart cherries in one day. Gout will be gone in two days.

[YEA]  I have had continues gout flair ups for over 15 years in my feet, knees, hands and wrists... I have taken all the medications available with no relief. I cut out all red meet, shell fish, wines and still had major flair ups. It was getting so frustrating. I come to find out my flair ups are from sugar I tracked what I ate for about a month and a half and my flair ups are from sugar I was consuming. I was taking cherry juice concentrate yet it had sugar so I did not see great results. I typed in gout in the search box in this online vitamin store I have been buying products from.. The results came up Tart Cherry Extract in a capsule form, WOW it worked. The bottle said to take 1 per day but I took 4 - 4 times per day (DO NOT do what I did unless you talk to your doctor) I have never felt better.

[NAY]   "Im 32, I had my first gout attack abt 5-6 years back, but after diagnosis , it was found that I had higher Uric acid content in my blood. So i took Uric acid suppressant tablets and after it went, i completly forgot about gout and now from last 2 months iam getting continuos attacks of gout. Mostly starts with at right ankle and spreads to the whole feet swelling and deep pain. I visited the doc again and he gave a 4-5 tablets and told me to take the Uric acid depressant. It was gone in 4 days. Now the doctor asked me to control my diet. Now i take very limited protein rich food like pulses. Now i reduced taking Non veg to once a week and that too very small quantity.

But the attack keeps coming back again and again. I cant excercise regularly and for the 4-5 days im like a disabled person.

I started taking cherries since last two weeks but now the attack has come again.

Now im planning to take apple cider vinegar and cherry.

Some one please tell how ACV, Cherrys are supposed to be used on a daily basis. Please help. Thanks Ram

[YEA]   "I also take cherry juice. The tart cherry juice. I buy it at the grocery store in the juice aisle. 64 oz bottle is almost $5.00. I drink up to 1/4 cup per day. I've read on the internet that some people dilute it with water. It is sour, but I've gotten used to the taste. I drink it as is.

If I feel that 'twinge' later on in the day, I'll drink some more. So far I haven't had any more attacks.

When I first got this last fall, the first attack was excruciating. My foot and big toe swelled up, and I thought I broke it, and I couldn't walk. I had two smaller attacks, but nothing like the first.

I've also read that gout is hereditary. I don't recall my parents or grandparents saying anything about it, or perhaps it wasn't diagnosed. There also is no cure.

I've read some of the other posts, and good luck with your treatment of it.

[YEA]  Re Cherry and Cherry powder: I am experiencing numerous episodes of gout; apparently due to a "Low Carb Diet". I have started taking 1/2 cup of cherries per day. I have now switched to a black cherry (with other additives) and have found it under control. I have prevously used prescription drugs prescribed by my doctor. However, who wants liver toxic drugs! Cherries and it's associated powders work great!

[YEA]  I got gout a few years ago. My mother told me to try black cherries or black cherry juice. The cherries were out of season so I went to the health food store and bought black cherry concentrate. I used it for a few days (I did not mix with water, just took a tblsp twice a day and drank water with it). My gout disappeared. My father-in-law tried this when he got gout and it also worked for him -- now he takes it a couple of times a week to keep gout free.

[YEA]  I've had problems with gout for the last 10 years. I gave up on medicine after the one the doctor prescribed gave me terrible acid reflux. A few years ago, in the book "Nutritional Healing", I read about dark cherries being helpful. I tried buying organic dark cherries and it quickly brought me relief. Recently, I had a problem again and I couldn't find any dark cherries in season, so I ate dried cherries and they also worked well.

[YEA]  I HAD BEEN PUT ON MEDS FOR FLARE UPS AS WELL AS PREVENTATIVES TO USE IN BETWEEN. IT IS SO PAINFUL AND IT TAKES THE MEDS A FEW DAYS TO CALM IT DOWN. WHEN I TRIED THE BLACK CHERRY JUICE, I COULD FEEL IT WORK THE SAME DAY. IT IS DEFINITELY A GREAT FIND. SPREAD THE WORD. THE PAIN OF GOUT IS HORRIBLE. THANKS FOR YOUR SITE, IT IS GREAT. THANK-YOU MARYANNE

[YEA]  Whenever I get a twinge of gout, or even have a full blown gout attack, I eat a couple of pounds of fresh cherries during a 48 hour period and drink copious amounts of water. Works every time.

[YEA]   "I do the same thing and within 3-4 hours of eating a half pound of fresh cherries and drinking a couple of glasses of water the swelling goes down and the pain subsides... I can actually feel the swelling go down, its amazing... I have taken all of the drugs prescibed by doctors (NSAIDS) and it does nothing but give me a stomach ache and make me feel terrible (on top of the pain from the Gout attack).

[YEA]  I've gotten gout three times and each time it was cherries that got rid of it. It took about two days to work. However, considering how painful it is, I think I'm going to try ACV next time, and see if I can cut that 2 days down.

[YEA]  I had gout for many years with attacks starting once per year and increase in about 10 years to 4-5 times per year. Dr. prescribed the std. Colchicine and Alpurinol but but the end this was no longer curing the pain or swelling but I did get the "fun" side effects of diarrhea from the cholchicine. I read some articles about Cherries and wanted to find a good source since they are not always in season and the extract is horrendous. In a vitamin store I have found Black Cherry Pills. I take 2 per day. If I start getting the early signs, I increase the does to 4-6 per day. This has made me gout free for about 3 years, Until this weekend when I had my first attack in a long time (week in Hilton head with alot of drinking and grilling out so it is my own fault). I actually found some 5 year old Cholchicine and took that (no help), started taking 10 per day of the Black Cherry pills per day and it is getting better but not out of the woods yet. The Black Cherry Pills definitely helped me.
