<description> Corzzell from Detroit, Mi writes: "I begin suffering from gout for about two years. My last bout was in October of 2011 in which the pain was so severe that I had to go to the emegency room. I have not had an attack until february 7, 2012. From october until that attack I had been taking acv, which I slowed up for about a week. I found this site and took two straight shots. If it works or lessens the severity I will post tomorrow.

<description>[YEA] Carly from Seattle, Wa - Usa writes: "Hello Fellow Earth Clinic Followers -

Well, this was our second time since finding the baking soda cure that gout has reared its ugly head in our house.

I wrote in on it last time, but since it happened again, and we had just as AMAZINGLY AWESOME results - I wanted to write in again to revalidate the effect it had on my husband.

On Monday my husband started out with a pain in his foot. He was gimping about, but went to work - not telling me. He came home early, knowing it was the dreaded gout.

I started him on the 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda in 8 oz. of water immediately. One dose that afternoon, and one more before bed.

Gave him another dose the next morning, and then noon.... by evening his symptoms were receding.

Amazing! Normally this would be over a week long battle... And we now have it down to well under three days. It never did turn into the complete HELL it usually does either.

I believe that the trick is to catch it IMMEDIATELY. We could have caught it a few hours earlier than we did, but still, it was before a complete explosion of redness, heat and swelling. We know the warning signs now.

When in doubt, down a glass of water with 1/2 tsp of baking soda in it - do NOT wait for it to get ugly!

Best,

Carly

<description>[YEA] Patrick from Atlanta, Ga writes: "Thanks to all you folks for posting your feedback for the home cures for gout. I have have it for the last 3 years and have had several attacks both mild and severe. It really sucks is that after a spending good money to see the doctors and podiatry folks. I found the real cure was on this website. So during my last gout flare up (5 days before Christmas) I came across this site and was amazed as to success that everyone has had with ACV and baking soda. I said this is a freaking joke and it would never WORK! I have to say that I too hobbled down to pick this suff up and decided to try it. Well hell, it work like a miracle. I can walk normally with no limp, my swelling has disappeared and I'm not embarrassed to finish my Christmas shopping with my family. It has been an absolute blessing that I came across this site. I hope that if there is anyone else out there that is a skeptic, try for yourself because it works. Happy holidays!

<description>[YEA] Daiys from Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States writes: "There have been a few studies showing that casein protein helps in lowering uric acid. My husband has had gout for 10 years. Nothing works. Diet does not seem to be enough. So I was poking around and found a product called purixa. In addition to casein, it also contains resveratrol. Either one of these substances are typically found in natural remedies.... Believe me, we have tried them all. So he has been taking purixa for about a month now. no flares and feels better in general, perhaps due to the other ingredients.

<description>[YEA] Robert from Weymouth, Ma writes: "I thought I had fractured my big toe on my right foot. It got worse as I continued walking on it. Swelling up and getting red. So I went to the emergency room and they asked me a few questions and they decided to take a few blood tests. What they found was my uric acid was very high. I had Gout! I'm 43. First time I ever had it. Never thought I would. They prescribed medicine. I thought, nuh-uh.

Came to earthclinic. I found the apple cider vinegar "from Braggs" and "with the Mother ", baking soda, honey, dried cherry capsules, alfalfa capsules. I placed 3 tspns of vinegar into 8oz glass of water with about a teaspoon of baking soda (Hammer). Put honey in my mouth which made it easier to drink the concoction along with 3 capsules of both the dried cherries and alfalfa. Within the hour I felt the pain dissipate. Later that night I took same before I went to bed, and next morning the gout was substantially diminshed in pain by 50%. That morning I drank another serving, and during the day it got better and better. Basically over a period of two days the gout was completely gone. I am goin to continue taking this everyday just to keep my pH alkaline.

<description> Weaver from Dorset, U.k. writes: "Hi everyone. Like so many of you here, I was shocked last year when my Doc said I had a "touch of gout", when I thought I had broken my big toe! Well, fortunately the first attack last year was brief albeit extremely painful and I vowed to lose weight and try natural methods to prevent a recurrence.

I started taking ACV with the Mother in it which is non-pasteurised and unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar for those who didn't know. Basically, it should look cloudy with bits floating in it. Don't worry though! Those floating bits are the most helpful enzymes you will ever consume!!

What I do is pour about a cap full of ACV into a glass and dilute with water. I tend to fill the glass to the top. I like the taste which is like drinking a pint of cider before bedtime.

It works! The properties when ACV has the Mother in helps to eat the uric acid in your bloodstream in a natural way. It will also help to dissolve the uric acid crystals in your joints as well, but you must drink lots of water on a daily basis to keep flushing the body and disposing of the uric acid.

Now! Taking ACV with the Mother in is only half the job done because now you need to get your blood back from high acidity levels to a neutral alkaline state and thus avoid being prone to any future gout flare ups.

How do you do this?

1. Eat healthy. Avoid eating too many foods with high purine levels in. Most Gout help websites will give you a list of foods to avoid.

2. Keep hydrated. Drink plenty of water and aim to drink at least 1. 5-2 litres daily. This will help to keep flushing out your body of any nasties!

3. Baking soda solution. If you get a tingle (any who had suffered gout for a while knows what I mean) in your bones and especially your big toe, act fast and start taking baking soda solution on an empty stomach usually before bedtime and first thing in the morning before breakfast.

Add 1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda into a glass and fill to brim. Stir up and drink down in one go.

The active properties in baking soda will start reducing the ph levels in your blood bringing it back into an alkaline state and hopefully avoid a painful flare up.

4. Test your ph levels. This may sound a little gross, but it's a cheap and effective way to periodically check the ph level of your body fluids. Instead of purchasing litmus paper or other ph testing equipment, pass a little urine into a glass or similar and sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into it.

If the baking soda drops straigh to the bottom of the glass then your are alkaline.

If the baking soda causes any bubbles, then there is likely to be too much acid in your blood and it's time to start taking the baking soda solution.

Good luck everyone!

<description>[YEA] Eamonn from Dublin, Ireland writes: "I stumbled onto this site to find a cure for my gout. I had a bad attack recently that lasted about 4 weeks. When I felt the gout returning I decided I needed a cure that I could take straight away and not have to go to a doctor. My last doctor could only tell me I had a sore foot and charged me 60euro for the privilege.

All the people on this site were raving about ACV so I said I'd give it a try. About an hour after taking it there was a marked improvement and I had stopped limping before the end of the day. I couldn't believe the results myself so I didn't take it the next day and the gout started to return. The following day I recommenced the "treatment" and it went away again. I'm taking it at regular intervals till the stiff feeling in my toe is completely gone. I have also phoned my father to tell him as he suffered with gout for years too.

<description>[YEA] Melissadavid from Jonesboro, Ga, United States writes: "Last Saturday I attended a church function, dressed really pretty, high heeled shoes, etc. Woke up Sunday morning around 4:30 with the worse bout of gout I have ever experienced. Had to attend church on Sunday with really ugly shoes!!! For two days I received phone calls from church members telling me what to take and what to do.

Finally, today around 5:00pm I went on-line and accidently found your website and read all of the comments on Apple Cider Vinegar. I immediately "hobbled" downstairs to my pantry and there it sat, staring me in the face. I took two tablespoons of the ACV and one hour later, I asked myself, is it my imagination or am I really feeling less pain? Some of the pain had left after taking the ACV. Thank you so much contributors regarding the ACV. You have helped me through this crises. God bless each of you.

<description>[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Angelo Osorio from Spring Hill, Florida writes: "When I woke up Saturday morning I was in terrible pain it was on my toe. At first I thought it was a spider bite? I called my Dad and he told me that we have a history with this happening in our family from his Dad(Granpa) to my Dad. "GOUT" I really don't like hospitals so I went straight to the internet to research this Gout and to see how I can find an easier solution than a painful trip to the hospital an a expensive bill. Then I read that 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a 4oz glass of water without going over 7 in 1 day helps as well as, V8 juice with a 1/2tsp of celery seeds, and a Teaspoon of Apple cider vinegar in a 10oz glass of water. I did this the entire day along with some cherries and celery sticks and the occasional intake of Advil about 800mg. Today is Monday and I'm 90% better and on my way to the beach with my kids. I thank you for all your feedback and good advise.

This has been great advice for me but my MD gave me the best advice I've ever heard for preventing gout. It may not work for everybody but when I'm diligent about it, it works great for me. Drink a lot of water. It's free. It's good for reasons other than just gout prevention, and when I have a flare up, I can always trace it back to dehydration for an extended period of time. Drink more water folks. It helps move the uric acid through the body and keep it diluted. Staying hydrated keeps fluids moving through the kidneys which keeps them working well. Did I mention this is free prevention? For those that bad mouth MDs as always after the almighty dollar, keep in mind this advice came to me from an MD.

My wife just went to the store to get more baking soda. I'll have that later. I'll report on progress. I just took some ibuprofen so the pain is lessened, but today the pain began to be more than just the constant burning ache and intense pain. At times I would prefer to chew off my own foot than continue to suffer. Sometimes I swear that portion of my foot is going to explode. Today I got sharp shooting pains around the perimeter of the sore spot on the outside of my foot. The twinges of pain cause me to cringe and say unpolite things.

<description> Bejoy from Colorado Springs, Co, Usa writes: "When an attack of gout happens or to prevent a gout attack after all things failed ( other than potent drugs), I found that keeping the feet (or joint) hot and under pressure ( not too much as to prevent blood circulation) eventually clears the uric acid deposition from the area. Its best to wear two warm socks and shoes(or loafers) and keep it on during an attack. During sleep keep the socks on and cover your legs with a blanket. You can along with try the innumerable remedies available on the web like baking soda, apple cider vinegar, cherries etc to aid in the removal of uric acid and the usual potent painkillers and drugs like allopurinal etc. As the heat and external pressure build up in the area the crystals will dissolve. It seems the some have a tendency to store uric acid like fat for later reuse. The soft area around the joints which are cold is the ideal place to store it. Prevent the storage and body keeps it circulating or disposes it. Hope this helps.
