[YEA] 06/13/2012: Ann from Midland, Mi: "I was in a great amount of pain yesterday and today that radiated from under my ribs into my mid-back. Horrible!!! I googled "immediate gall bladder pain relief" and this site came up. I drank 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (Organic) with 8 oz 100% apple juice. I experienced relief within about an hour. Whew!! I'm going in the morning to have an ultrasound of my gall bladder. I do not want to have it removed. I'm very happy the pain is gone for now. Very thankful!

06/13/2012: Tina from Houston, Usa replies: "Ann, Daily consumption of kombucha helps dissolves the stones in your gall bladder.
If you buy kombucha from a grocery store, keep on counter for 3-4 days to allow to ferment longer. The longer the ferment the better in terms of dissolving stones.
Or visit http://culturedfoodlife.com/ to learn to make kombucha at home for pennies. Ferment/brew for atleast 9 days to allow the properties of dissolving stones to form in the tea.
Build up daily consumption slowly. Start 4 oz per day and build to 32 oz daily within few weeks. Your stones will dissolve and you will NOT have to remove your gallbladder.
Good luck, T"
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 06/22/2012: Klola from Brighton, Mi replies: "Thank you! I was so skeptical but my pain kept getting worse and worse (I found out today that my GB is functioning at 20%) three eggs set my attack off tonight. Then I came across this thread and thought is give it a try. I still feel nauseous but the pain has subsided. Thank you for your help! I hope I will continue to improve tonight and maybe be able to sleep."
[YEA] 06/29/2012: April from Toronto, Ontario replies: "ACV and Apple juice so works cant believe it- bought german cider vinegar with mother ( Cloudeness) timed it. After an hour pressure and nagging pain 90% diminished. Thank you Ann so much, so afraid of an iodine injection CT scan just to see the problem, will try this for awhile to see how it goes."
[YEA] 08/27/2012: Jon from Oakland, Tn replies: "This page and remedy is a lifesaver! I had two gallbladder attacks last week that put me in the ER two nights in a row. The first night night, I thought it was gas, and all the Dr did was give me narcotics until the pain stopped. I got 3 doses of morphine which took the edge off just a tiny bit if anything. Finally they gave me some dilauded which worked in about 30 seconds. They discharged me and I went home to sleep off the drugs.
The second night, I had a different ER Dr. He gave me a "GI cocktail" which was mylanta, mixed with viscous lidocain (to numb everything), and a third ingredient. It worked in about 10 minutes. Said I had GERD, gave me a prescription for Prilosec, and sent me home. The next day I saw a GI specialist, who properly thought it was my Gallbladder. The next morning I had the HIDA test and my gallbladder didn't even show up on the radiological camera photos.
Last night I felt the discomfort and pressure of another gallbladder attack coming on. I did some googleing and found this page. My wife had some apple cider vinegar and my kids had 2 100% organic apple juice left. I made the potion and in 15 minutes the symptoms were almost completely gone. In 30 minutes I was back to normal.
Thank You! I was worried this was a bogus remedy, but it works. Thank God!"
[YEA] 09/29/2012: Patricia from Wilmington, De replies: "Thank you so much for posting this. I had a gall bladder attack last night and I tried this. I did not have apple juice and used orange juice. Once I mixed the combo of oj and apple cider vinegar I realized the oj may too acidic, but I tried it anyway. I had relief with in a half hour and no pain within an hour. I was able to get a much needed good night sleep. I have had about 4 attacks but they are spaced about once every couple of years so this will be good to remember."
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 12/04/2012: Susan from Westlake Village, Ca replies: "Wow - I can't believe how fast this remedy works! I just took about 1/2 a glass of Apple Cider Vinegar. I didn't have apple juice, so put in some pear juice. It was a bit hard to swallow down, but 30 min. Later, my pain is greatly reduced. I've been feeling absolutely aweful for about a week - pain, a pressure/bruised feeling under my right ribs and a sharp pain through my back between my spine and right shoulder blade, gas, diarrhea, nauseau and some vomiting. I went in to see a specialist yesterday and he ordered blood tests (liver and thyroid too) and a fasting ultrasound which I just had this morning. But waiting days for a result has been aweful. He said if I get a fever or the pain is excruciating, go right to the ER. I took the drink about 30 min. Ago and I'm much more comfortable. I wouldn't say it's completely gone, but I definitely feel better."
[YEA] 12/30/2012: Crose from Calgary replies: "Thank you so much for this post! I suffered from a gallbladder attack and was in the ER for 2 days. They sent me on my way with a packet of pain killers and nothing else. I was feeling discouraged becasue I wanted a solution to the pain and discomfort rather than a band aid. I drank 1/4 cup of the apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of mango carrot juice (we were out of apple) and within an hour I felt much better! 24 hours later I am still without symptoms!"
[YEA] 04/29/2012: Sufferingfromattack from Buffalo, Ny: "I just tried the Apple Cider Vinegar and apple juice for my gallstones and it really works. I have been suffering from an attack for over a day and this started working within 30 minutes. I can finally get some much needed rest! Thank you so much! Thank you so much for this site and the testimonials... I can sleep!! =)"
11/11/2012: Allovejus from Dayton, Ohio replies: "i had severe pain under rt ribs and felt sick febuary of 2o1o. I honestly thought I was going to die. I had husband take me to er. Sitting in waiting room wondering what it takes to be seen as hot tears flooded and shaking in pain. When they took my bp it was high and have never had that problem. They sent me for test and came back that I needed gallbladder taken out. Thinking doctors know best and that I was in worst pain while on morphine they gave me. I was willing. They got me to a sleepable pain level with the morphine and awoke for surgery. Please understand I have never had any gallbladder issues before this. After surgery I couldnt wake up very well nor speak hardly and I was in lots of pain. Thankfully someone came in to empty the trash and he somehow knew something was wrong or he was surprised to see me cause finally a nurse came in and she thought I was discharged and had gone home hours ago mind I stll had my fluid iv and gown on. I was in so much pain still that at this point I was wondering if they had taken the wrong organ out. I argued with the nurse that I couldnt go home in all this pain. Basically my surgeon discharged me at the time when I was in surgery so afterwards nobody came to give me meds or check on me since they thought I was gone. So my pain was extremely bad not to mention I needed to potty which is one of the reasons I think I woke up in the first place. I went home for recovery still in same pain as when I went in but also from surgery. Went for post op apt after calling severals times bout the gallbladder pain now after alot of internet searching I know I was having attacks my surgeon said he didnt know why I was in so much pain and ordered a scan he said nothing showed up a week later and it might be causee they pulled out a bad gallbladder that might have caused scar tissue so now I have no answers from my surgeon which soon after a recieved letter he isnt there anymore. So I terrified of doctors now but after all this time I have had to suffer through many many attacks but about 3 weeks ago I have been under attacks numorous times everyday so I had to call dr havent had appt yet on tues. I have done much research not wanting surgeries nor drugs and was really upset not to find any success just alot of people suffering. I took your suggestion of 1/4cup Apple Cider Vinegar with 8oz apple juice at 5pm and I felt 2 sharp spikes of pain soon after it went down and got worried it wasnt going to help me or make things worse but after about a hour or so lots of things were going on in bowels no bm yet but my pain had eased for the first time in 3weeks I think im going to drink it again when im done writing. My attack symptoms are that I have severe pain in gallbladder location which isnt there. Gas that sounds of monsters in my tummy. Diareha that is explosive and bile looks oily no constant light or dark in color which does wonders for internal hemoroids. Heartburn and inajestion. Nearly no appitite maybe from fear but rarely hungry. Nor do I know what to eat or how. Im losing my mind I want to be better not just manage pain and spend most of my life in bed this is not fair to my husband who has totake up for all my slack nor my two sons. I found something else that claims to fix things that is all natural in a liquid and guess what the main inngredient is... Apple cider vinagar. Alot of the other s are things that are mentioned on this great site. This site doesnt allow me to say name of product for reasons I understand. But this stuff might help me for long term I dont know so im going to my drs apt to ask them about the product I really wanted to ask anyone on this site if they have heard pos or neg about it. Tried to contact tom but email expired. I think I will probably try it even if my doctor says it wont work cause I dont want to be on pain meds nor surgery nor expensive scans as I have no innsurance anymore anyways who would ever believe that your Apple Cider Vinegar and apple juice would help with gallbladder attack pain with no gallbladder... I was surprised and very thankful I will be passing this on to friends and family my husband was very skeptical of all this but now claims he is going to take a shot a day."
12/04/2013: Eliz from Rhode Island replies: "To Allovejus from Dayton -- Doctors have made mistakes... I would seek out another doctor and make sure they did in fact do what they were supposed to!"
[YEA] 02/24/2012: Pete from Live Oak, Fl: "I can only say this about apple juice and vinegar: It works!!!
When I have a gall bladder attack, I quickly drink 1/4 cup of organic vinegar in 8 oz of apple juice. The average time for pain to stop for me is abput 10 minutes. It leaves completely at that time. I am going to try to take a couple glasses a day, maybe a teaspoon to 8 oz juice. I stopped doing that and think that was a mistake!
If you are skeptical, please by all means try this remedy and keep the juice and vinegar with you when you go out also. I avoided surgery for several years now using this method. I tell you the attacks are horrible as anyone knows who has had them.
Good luck, and God Bless. Pete"Replies
03/21/2012: Colleen from Perry, Fl replies: "Wow thank you Pete.. This really worked. I didn't have any apple juice to chase it with so just drank it straight and it took the pain away almost completely!"
03/28/2012: Rennygrl from Brantford, Ontario Canada replies: "I have had a gallbladder problem for about 4 years. I was diagnosed with gallstones and sludge in the bottom of my gallbladder. This is what I did the first time to cleanse it. I ate normally for I think it was 3 or 4 days and drank lots of apple juice. On the last day I drank only apple juice. That night I took shots of pure lemon juice (fresh from lemons) mixed with extra virgin olive oil every half hour until bed time. I went to bed and to sleep and in the morning the gallstones came out in my bowel movement. For the best effect in doing this after the olive oil lemon juice mixture go to bed and lie on your right side with your right hip propped up by a pillow. Also make sure that it is not processed apple juice. It has to be 100% pure apple juice for the gall stones to soften."
12/16/2012: Roger from Georgetown, Guyana replies: "My wife was having these severe heart burn like symtoms after the birth of our son. We visited many Doctors who diagnosed Acid Reflux and of course recommended a whole lot of pain medication and antacids to no avail. On our last visit to a hospital they did an indepth chack and found the problem to be as a result of gall stones. It was good that they diagnosed the problem but those people were preparing her for surgery without even informing us. We opted out and decided to check online for natural remedies and came accross this thread. To sum up the results I will just say that this thread was a blessing to us. She had one more attack the same night we first saw this thread and that was the last. She is still using the mixture twice daily and we will try the lemon juice and olive oil shortly. Once again thanks very much."

Soo I am one very happy bunny this evening :)"Replies
01/10/2012: Mike from Montreal, Quebec replies: "Probably the reason you get these attacks is because you have insufficient bile flow from your liver into your gallbladder. Since bile is a very strong antibacterial agent, it protects your gallbladder from infection which is the source of pain when it becomes infected. The gases emitted by these bacterias causes the same type of pain as the gases emitted from bacterias inside an infected tooth.
The most logical way of eliminating the sometimes unbearable pain due to a gallbladder attack is by ingesting food that tend to promote bile flow. These include pure olive oil, turmeric and even HCL Betaine consumed with yogurt to avoid any stomach burn.
In my case it was clearly due to an infection because my gallbladder pain always occur as soon as I wake up in the morning and never immediately after a fatty meal. During the night your immune system is low which gives an opportunity for these bacterias to flourish inside your Gallbladder and thus begin the process of causing pain the next morning.
In the long run if this problem is not treated then every time you let a gallbladder attach last for hours, the tissues become scar and eventually the gallbladder will cease to function entirely. At that point you will begin to vomit with severe pain because your dead gallbladder is not able to protect itself from any surrounding bacterias just like an infected tooth cannot be saved once it is completely infected and damaged.
So it is very important to keep your bile flowing in healthy quantities by changing your eating habits in such a manner as to include food that stimulate the liver to produce more bile.
Anyone who has ever experienced a real toothache knows that eating sugar only aggravates the pain just like eating a fatty meal would initiate a gallbladder attack. The difference between ignoring a tooth ache and ignoring a repeated gallbladder attack could mean the difference between life and death. If an infection spreads to other parts of your mouth than the result is fewer teeth. However if an infection goes beyond the wall of your gallbladder then you can be certain that your other internal organs will be infected to and if that happens, you will find yourself clinging to your life inside an emergency room in the worst case scenario.
Just to be safe, make a point to always consume the right food that can stimulate the production of bile in the same manner as you take the trouble to brush your teeth every morning to protect your teeth for bacterial infection.
With ACV and apples for relieving pain may only present itself as a band-aid solution to your gallbladder problem. The safest and most reliable way of treating this problem before you risk damaging the gallbladder beyond repair is by adding to your diet food that tend to promote the flow of bile.
Unfortunately, western processed food does nothing to promoting healthy bile flow and is the reason why so many people complain about gallbladder attacks and end up losing it in the end.
One of the best food to consume is pure olive oil and mainly raw vegetables.
You can go to
for an excellent account on the various type of gallbladder diseases.
When I had my last gallbladder attack, believe it or not I only consumed food that promoted the flow of bile and within 45 minutes of a major attack THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO MORE PAIN NOT EVEN A TICKLE.
From there on I learned a valuable lesson about what to include as part of my eating habits and since then never experienced another gallbladder for the last 6 months.
I hope this helps everyone who has had a similar experience but could never figure out the exact root cause of pain when a gallbladder attack occurs.
Remember that toothaches occurs intermittently just as gallbladder also occurs intermittently and is thus the most convincing evidence on the root cause of Gallbladder pain that can be so excruciating in the end.
Of course by adding two and two together, insufficient bile flow can only lead to sludge deposit inside your gallbladder which ends up as Gallstones and we all know what passing a stone feels like ...
I only regret one thing in my life and that is I did not figure this out sooner in my first major gallbladder attack three years ago. At that time my gallbladder was so infected that the excruciating pain went on non-stop for 9 straight hours. I could have done something about it at that time. The results of my inaction is low fever, jaundice and white stool the next day. Because it was my very first attack, my gallbladder held on and as a result the infection did not spread to my other internal organs (Thank God for that!! )
But the damage of this Gallbladder attack lasted more than a year: major white coating on my tongue, constant stomach pain, unbearable coughing especially during the day and always lacking energy.
In spite of this horrendous attack and pretty much to the surprise of my doctor, I still have my gallbladder and now everything is completely under control as a result of a complete change in eating habits.
The moral of the story is: BE GOOD TO YOUR GALLBLADDER IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!"
01/11/2012: Timh from Louisville, Usa replies: "Mike, great post. The health of the gallbladder cannot be overstated, as so many other problems are associated with it. In my case, my liver suffered the worst. I did not have the infection as you, but I did have a load of cholesterol stones blocking bile flow. We have been drilled on the importance of Fibre for Colon health, BUT Fibre is also very important for the gallbladder as it sequesters fat in the intestines BEFORE it reaches the bloodstream, and thus re-entering the gall.
Good herbs for increasing bile flow include: Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, Yellowdock Root, Artichoke Leaves. Also VERY important nutrients for bile are the two amino acids that help create it ---Taurine and Glycine. Also VERY important nutrients to prevent the formation of gallstones are choline, lecithin, phosphatidylcholine. For infection ---Neem, Olive Leaf, Grapefruitseed, Echinacea, Goldenseal or Oregon Grape, Cats Claw, to mention a few."
01/11/2012: Mike from Montreal, Quebec replies: "Hi Timh, may I also add to your list MSM which is most important for repairing damaged Gallbladder tissues since it is a sulphur based compound. Mike"
01/29/2012: Liz from Den Haag, Nl replies: "Hi Mike, I found your post very interesting, as I have been diagnosed with gallstones just less than a month ago, when on New Year's day I had my worst attack ever (I didn't know what it was, but it felt like a heart attack) and called the emergency room, who sent an ambulance over to my place, just to confirm it was nothing related to my heart, but probably to do with the drinks and food I had with the typical celebration of New Year's eve. Since then I've been eating a healthy diet, but just the other day I had some Sushi followed with dessert of 1 scoop of chocolate ice-cream, and the next morning I woke up with the very familiar pain which lasted all day long, from moderate to feeling a fist lodged between my chest and back.
I have been advised to try the gallbladder cleanse remedy, which means; eating only apples all day and finish with a cup of olive oil and a cup of lemon juice before bedtime. I was wondering if you were familiar with that? You seem to know a bit about this and would appreciate some advise from someone who's suffered the same pain.
All the best! L."
01/30/2012: Mike from Montreal, Quebec Canada replies: "Hi Liz, before taking any action with your gallbladder you must IMMEDIATELY schedule an ultrasound test to determine the state of your gallbladder.
Don't try anything yet until you can determine how big and how many stones you have inside your gallbladder. In my case my stones were not that big so I went ahead in treating my gallbladder condition using natural products. When you know exactly what is inside your gallbladder then let us know.
In the meantime don't take any chances by consuming large amount of fat and at least start consuming extra virgin olive oil, plenty of apples and lecithin. If you experience another attack then try granulated soy lecithin as this worked for me in my last attack.
02/11/2012: Mike from Montreal, Quebec replies: "It's been more than 10 days now since I have decided to use granulated soy lecithin as an alternative to the olive oil gallbladder flush method now so popular on the internet.
The results up to now using lecithin proved to be much better than what I expected. Everything I described about the emulsifying properties of granulated soy lecithin as the perfect liver and gallbladder cleanser proved correct!!
Here are a few major improvements I have noticed in the last 10 days of consuming on the average 3 tablespoon of granulated soy lecithin:
(1). I keep noticing on occasions in my stools several lumps of very dark green matter each about the size of a large pea. I suspect that maybe it is finally old cholesterol deposit from my liver that has been dissolved by the soy lecithin.
(2). A yellow stone with sharp edges was also noticed just 1 day prior to having a gallbladder attack pain which I was able to keep under control by consuming large amount of granulated soy lecithin.
(3) Most significant to me is not experiencing any more loose stools in the last 10 days. This is quite important for me since I have had this problem over the last 2 years and could never figure out why this was always happening.
(4) My gall bladder is no longer sensitive to touch as it used to be in the past, the usual precursor to any future gallbladder attacks.
Should someone with a gallbladder problem decide to experiment with this method please let me know as this might prove to be a far better and much less exhaustive method then following the olive oil cleaning method.
02/13/2012: Mj from Stanthorpe, Qld replies: "Hi Mike. I would like to try it. I am currently trying fulvic acid to dissolve the pigment stone in my gallbladder as it is to large to pass. Let me know what you did. MJ."
02/14/2012: Mike from Montreal, Quebec Canada replies: "All I do is take 3 tablespoon of granulated Soy lecithin a day for dissolving the cholesterol in the liver and gallbladder. You must however take it over a long period of time to gradually loosen all the cholesterol.
If this works for you then you might alsp notice that you become less bloated then usual.
If the stone is very large then you might on occasion take some epson salt to relax your bile duct while pasing a large stone.
Let me know if you notice any improvements over time."
03/12/2012: Ili from Miami, Fl replies: "Where do you buy the granulated Soy lecithin?"
[YEA] 12/29/2011: Alan Bruce from Manila, Philippines : "Dear Earth Clinic Editor ,
I wish to place on record my gratitude for the information and Guidance I found on your website .
On the Morning of December 22 , 2011 I had my first EXCRUCIATING gallbladder atack .
I am 62 yrs old and took the pian for more than ten hours whilst just lying on the marble floor face doown - the best way to minimize the Pain .
Being concerned about the spread of the infection which started in my front abdomen and spread to the right to my gallbladder I went that evening to a local hospital in terrible pain .
I was examined and underwent a blood and urine test . My blood pressure was 150/100 I was given pain killers and antibiotics for a week and recommended to return for an ultrasound . They could not tell me the exact problem but hinted that it may be kidney stone .
I told them that every time I lie down the attack starts .
Since then I could not sleep - only cat-napping in a SITTING position . I had no bowel movement for a week and lost my appetite. I had several attacks of fever and tried to sweat it out .
I discovered that HOT showers did help relieve the pain temporarily .
I purchased further antibiotics in the assumption that they were having some effect .
Being absolutely lost for a reason / cause as to the continuous excruciating pain in the right side of my lowerback I did research on the internet yesterday and found that the suspect organ was my Gallbladder .
I found your website and purchased the AJC AND AJV . Since 2200 krs PM LT last night I drank drank 3 glasses up to 0700 hrs/am this morning. The third glass produced the positive results shared by other sufferers . I have since been able to sleep and have had only one Minor attack in the last 8 hours.
I am most grateful for the information found on your website
I shall inform you of developments
Many thanks and kind regards

I spent Thanksgiving day in the emergency room with what I think is gall bladder issues. This is Saturday and I'm still in pain. I was sent home with pepsid and pain pills. The apple juice and Apple Cider Vinegar is giving me relief!!

Pain was so bad this afternoon I finally headed to urgent care to find out what was going on. After being told "it sounds like gallbladder issues but we need to do blood work first" and being given a script for percecet I started googling and came across this site. Still in extreme pain I did the Apple Cider Vinegar/Apple Juice drink and about 40 min later felt the best I had in days--worked better than the prescription drugs! But here I am, 4 hours later at 1am, waking up in pain again. I drank more, feel better but am left wondering about a more permenant treatment or way for managing my-yet-to-be-diagnosed, Gallbladder issues. [BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 05/15/2011: Jill from Portage, In replies: "I have to say I was a little leary of this at first... But when I woke up this morning in such sheer agony... I had to try anything. I dont like taking medicine to much so I was looking for some relief without having to take any. So my boyfriend went and got me some ACV and apple juice. I put 3 tablespoons in a cup of apple juice and drank up. It did take about 45 min to kick in but I feel much better now. Still a little nautious... But overall 95% better! Thank you so much for this remedy!"
05/16/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Hi Jill, I think that it is Barry Groves who says in his book Trick and Treat that gallbladder problems come from not eating enough fats. When you do eat fat the stones that were formed in the gallbladder start moving and hurts. I am 53, always ate quite a bit of fat, recently had a gallbladder scan and have no stones at all. Maybe something to think about?"
05/16/2011: Carly from Seattle, Wa - Usa replies: "Although I do know gallblader issues can be hereditary, I tend to agree with what Francisca said.
I remember reading somewhere (years ago, might have been one of the Adelle Davis books) that if you do not eat enough fat, your gallbladder will get slugish and lazy and stop producing enough bile / acid to disolve any stones that are formed.... something along those lines.
It makes sense to me. I have also always eaten pretty much whatever I want (reasonably, no huge amounts) and have never had a problem. (50 year old woman, normal weight). It might just be that I am lucky in the gallbladder health area though.
I have been taking ACV 1oz / Baking Soda 1/2 teaspoon / 12 oz water with a splash of orange juice everyday (with weekends off here and there)for the past couple of years and I don't know if it helps with gallbladder issues, but I doubt very much that it could hurt.
I wonder if turmeric has been studied for gallbladder attacks... As it is supposed to be an anti-inflamitory. Hmmmm.... maybe google that..."

Deperate to get rid of the agonizing pain, I found this thread about apple cider vinegar, 3 TBSP of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in a cup of applejuice (I used more to help the bitterness) and within 30 minutes the pain subsided. I'm still working on drinking the rest of the mixture as it is a little tough for me being a water only drinker. Thank you for this website and so many people whom have posted their experiences."

It is differeent than medication in that it heals the gall bladder each time that it is used and if you use it many times a day it is making it better and then eventually..."
09/28/2011: Molly from Qualicum Beach, Bc Canada replies: "The best advice I ever got about the gallstones that were causing me problems was from a book by Andreas Moritz called "The Amazing Liver & Gallbladder Flush". I cannot stress what a difference this book has made to my life. He explains how to flush stones out of your liver and gallbladder. It will save you lots of cash and visits to the hospital."
[YEA] 11/02/2010: Holly from Tomball, Tx: "I've been having these attacks for about 6 months. I just had a baby 3 months ago, and the pain from my Gallbladder is worse than having my daughter naturally. I finally did some research and came across this website during an attack, so my husband went and got some Apple Cider vinager. I drank 3 Tbsp. Mixed with apple juice, and in about 30 min. Pain was GONE! Thanks so much!"Replies
[YEA] 12/18/2010: Cat from Harrow, On, Canada replies: "Thank you... Thank you.... Thank you!!! I have been having problems with a sluggish gallbladder for about 1 1/2 yrs now (right after my son was born). Nothing but pain medication available from the doctor which really wasn't any help. I had an attack 4 days ago that had me in agony for approx. 9 hours. I was into another one when I found your site. The ACV worked like a charm! 2 tablespoons and water.
Also I found another site that I tried first and it did lessen the pain almost immediately. Apparently eating legumes will stop the pain but over time eliminate stones! That won't help me since I don't have stones just a low functioning gallbladder but hopefully it will help someone else. Well worth the read. Again, thank you so much!"
[YEA] 12/28/2010: Rachel from Dallas, Texas replies: "I was diagnosed with "sludge" in my gallbladder after several attacks 18 months ago. I went into the ER and was too sick at the time to get the gallbladder removed (Jaundice, Liver damage and pancreatitis from a stone that was lodged in the CB duct) In the time that I had to wait for surgery I started learning everything I could about cholecystitis and find out how to handle it naturally. Apple Cider Vinegar is part of my arsenal. I have been eating such crap in the past few days that the pain just shot me right out of bed this evening (morning actually). I went straight to the kitchen and drank a glass of water, the cider/vinegar mixture and now sipping another glass of water. Just in the time I have been surfing the web and reading these comments I am feeling better. Seriously, 40 minutes ago the pain was outstanding, now I am starting to relax."
12/29/2010: Ti from Houston, Tx, Usa replies: "Rachel,
Please would you give me the exact solution for the ACV with water you take for gall bladder attacks. What quantities of what do you mix? Do you add baking soda? PLEASE. I am in a lot of pain. Please help me. Thanks!"
[YEA] 02/22/2011: Midwife4one from Wherever Needed!, Western Usa replies: "My husband had cholelithiasis (gallbladder 'attack') episode and I read thru this thread... I am a BIG believer that 95% of people have magnesium deficiency. I rx for almost every one of my clients this 'miracle' mineral... From very young children all the way to 90 yr olds! Age/wt - dose dependent. I increased the dose of magnesium my husband was takes daily, from 1000mg up to 2000mg temporarily, gave him the apple cider vinegar/apple juice remedy for the terrible pain he was experiencing with chills and over all feeling of sluggishness and just wanting to sleep... NO EXAGGERATION... He was totally devoid of pain, (has just slight soreness now with deep breathing) no chills, and feeling so good within 30 minutes, that we were able to walk to the store to get ACV with 'mother', and fresh pressed apple juice! He is sold on this! We'll be drinking it every day from this day forth!! total change of diet! (: Thanks soooo much for this awesome site! Mark and Terri"

Only when he eats an unrecommended food, does he have soreness! And a "side effect" has had almost no tenderness in arthritis affected joints! I am using it and have lost 16 pounds and have no joint pain in thapye base of my thumbs - developed from doing deep tissue massage therapy as a clinician! We are sold on ACV regimen... My body feels vibrant and alive! Lots of energy.... Telling clients, family, and friends about this easy, inexpensive... And most important of all... Very effective remedy!! Thx so much 4 this site! I'm telling everyone about it! Terri"
03/02/2011: Stgeorge from Foothill Ranch, Ca replies: "Can someone explain how ACV would stop an attack... Since the stone apparently just get lodged in a duct and the whole gallbladder just inflames and causes the pain... How would this stop it logically? Also why does every doctor or person whose had gall stones just tell me nothing works except surgery. I had first attack 2 months ago but reluctant to listen to docs and get surgery. Have been having pain (not fullblown attack) despite eating almost no fat. Has anyone avoided surgery successfully with ACV?"
03/03/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Hi, the common mistake is indeed eat little fat! If you want to understand better how it works maybe you should consider reading Barry Groves' book Trick and Treat where he explains the problem of eating a low fat diet and why when you start eating fat the stones start moving and you get pain but after you get rid of them eating enough fat will prevent you from having them! I have just had an ultrasound this afternoon because of high enzymes in the liver, luckily everything was ok and... No gallstones! The book is very interesting........ Whether ACV would help I don't know!
You can also get some information in Adelle Davis' book Let's Get Well. It is pretty much the same advice. She says that people get to afraid of having pain again that they stop eating fat which only makes things worse. She advises a diet rich in Vit. E and A also B vitamins and high in fats, low in carbohydrates. She says you should stay away from saturated fats but keep in mind that this book is very old so some of the information may be out of date. Still.... a very interesting book advised to me by some on this site and luckily I could get my hands on one! I hope this helps....."
03/05/2011: Alicia from Ponca City, Oklahoma replies: "@StGeorge : Several sites recommend having a shot of something bitter with water or juice because "bitter" helps to get the bile moving...
While I have NOT tried this yet, I am going to with my next attack. I have gallbladder colic and NO gallstones, just a low functioning gallbladder.
I Have been dealing with this bunk gallbladder since I had my son last year in March. I went to E. R. Several times because the pain was so severe and I thought I was having panic attacks... Everytime I would go I threw up and would feel 100% better immediatly afterwards (I would have pain the next day via tensing up and how long the attack lasted before I finally made my self vomit. ) I haven't gone to doctor for the last four because they don't do anything but write me a script for pain meds and nausea meds... (and tell me I should just get it removed), and a $$$HUGE BILL$$$ but til now throwing up has been a life saver."

[YEA] 03/20/2011: Ellen from Broken Bow, Nebraska replies: "I experienced my first excruciatingly painful gall bladder attack last night, and out of desperation turned to the Internet for help. I came across your site and decided to try the ACV suggestion, and about 40 minutes later had significant enough relief to go to sleep. In just a little over an hour the pain was nearly gone. Thank you so much for making this information available for people like me!"
05/30/2011: Joy from Blair, Ne replies: "I have been experiencing the severe pain that keeps me awake. It is more severe at night it seems. Google informs me that it sounds like it is the gallbladder. Interesting to me is the fact I had been taking Alli for several months and wondered the same if it might have caused this. Will try the ACV and juice and hope for some relief and sleep!"
[YEA] 08/19/2011: Ted from Asheville, Nc replies: "YEA! Our 10yr old son had all the symptoms of a gallbladder attack the other night (clay colored stool, stomach pain, onset after dinner etc). His pain was significant enough to keep him curled up and unable to stretch out. We gave him organic apple juice then 8oz warm water and apple cider vinegar (_____'s) and he was able to stretch out after about 30 minutes. He had a nice brown bowel movement the next AM (phew! ). We'll be doing the final gallstone cleanse in a few days (just in case)."

01/18/2012: Icia from Manila, Philippines replies: "I can't wait to try this remedy! I found out I had gallstones about 5 months ago. I had to change my lifestyle completely, as a teenager that sucks big time.
The doctor told me to take Buscopan (Over the counter med) when I get an attack, it works SOMETIMES. Its main job is to relax the gallbladder, but then since it is a tablet it takes a LONG time to work, sometimes it never does. :/
When I feel a bit full after a meal I immediately drink YAKULT (a probiotic drink), I dunno why but 90% of time I drink this, I don't get an attack whether I eat something a bit fatty. :) So I hope it works for others too!
Apple juice ACV: I will try this next time I get an attack!
Thank you! :) Hope it works for me! :) "
[YEA] 03/04/2010: Kendra from Berea, Ky: "ACV in apple juice really worked! Last night at 1am the same horrible gallbladder pain started. This was my third attck, the last one I ended up in the ER with nothing more than pain meds. So as soon as the pain started I drank 8oz apple juice with 1/4 cup acv and within 20 minutes the pain was almost gone! I was able to go back to sleep but still had some feelings of nausea and sore on my right side. So it looks like it's time to do another gallbladder flush, the last flush stopped the attacks for months."Replies
04/14/2011: Natalie from Las Vegas, Nv replies: "I've seen mention of a "gallbladder flush" to help longer term prevention of gallbladder attack related pain. EC: Much more information re Gallbladder Flushes in this section: http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/gallstones.html#GC
09/19/2013: Rhoda from Portland, Or replies: "Doing the gallbladder cleanse from Hulda Clarke's Cure for all Cancer book is the most liberating and empowering thing you can do for your body! No longer will you be held hostage by the medical community and be advised to have your gallbladder removed, which never solves the problem!
When you get to the point of gallbladder pain, the stones have accumulated to the point of literally choking off the bile that should flow to assist in the digestive process.
The stones are often hiding in the liver and only enter the gallbladder when the liver is so full they have no where else to go.
Personally I have done over a dozen gallbladder flushes, some more successful than others, but every time a feeling of enlightenment and empowerment has come over me that 'I did this myself' and took control of my own body and repaired an out of balance condition that could have ended me up in the hospital and cost literally thousands of dollars!
Don't give up and let the doctors cut on you and prescribe their poisons! Learn everything you can and you will amaze yourself with what you can do!"
[YEA] 01/11/2010: Giselle from Bay Area, Ca: "I started having gallbladder attacks in October of 2008.. I didn't know what they were until after I had about 5 attacks.. Didn't have insurance so going to the doctor was not an option.. My friend and grandmother both had their gallbladder removed so they told me the symptoms I had were from my gallbladder.. I tried painkillers and antacids and nothing ever worked!.. Then in December I found out I was pregnant and had to stop taking painkillers during attacks.. That's when I found this website.. My attacks would last about 10 hours!!.. I have had 3 attacks in the past month even though I have been watching my diet.. I drank a cup off apple juice with one tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar and my attacks lasted no longer than half an hour after I drank the mixture!!... I am so happy I found out this trick even though I wish I never had to experience this to begin with...
I have a question for everyone though.. Have any of you tried drinking apple cider daily and had it help prevent attacks???.. or does it just help when you are having one?.."
09/07/2010: Schenderson22 from Castaic, Ca, United States replies: "ACV absolutely helps resolve the attack. However, I, too, have been searching for a preventative measure. For the past several weeks I have been suffering from attacks. It got me thinking what may have been the cause. Although a doctor has not officially confirmed this, I truly believe they came on after taking almost thirty days of antibiotics. Originally I started taking two teaspoons of ACV with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in an eight ounce glass of water twice a day and that seemed to be helping. I read that the gall bladder can experience a bicarbonate imbalance. The baking soda helps that. However, today I had enough. I loaded up on acidophilus. (two doses of 4 capsules). I have had a fear of eating for the past couple weeks and this seemed to provide immediate relief for me."
11/09/2012: Shais from Dublin, Eire replies: "I am also a victim of Gallstone/gall blader attack for a year ago when my second baby was due. I have been using apples, ACV and apple juice. I have also done liver flush/liver cleanse (olive oil lemon juice) twice and it has shown positive results. I had started my normal diet with meat, dairy and fats and it was all fine with no more pain. I wanted do more cleanses but I to became pregnant, and stopped my program with a doubt that ACV might not be good during pregnancy. Now I am avoiding all fatty food, no dairy, no meat in my diet (as pregnancy increases the gallstone attck due to some harmones created during it). I am 6 months pregnant now, but again feeling some medium intensity attacks. Can someone tell is it safe to use ACV during pregnancy? Is it safe to do liver cleanse at this stage?"
11/10/2012: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Shais, Someone wrote in recently with this same question about ACV during pregnancy. And yes, it is safe to use during pregnancy. It helps with digestion and also constipation which are two issues during pregnancy. Another is heartburn in the later stages of pregnancy which ACV is known to help as well. It can also be used during breastfeeding benefitting you and the baby.
As for a liver cleanse during pregnancy, I would say no. One should never detox while pregnant. Wait until after you've had the baby for this. Just eat healthily and take care of yourself. Wishing you the best during this special time, Lisa"
11/11/2012: Shais from Dublin, Eire replies: "@Lisa: thank you for your comments, it is true that constipation and heartburn are my issues as well. But I am afraid that these gallstone attacks or their intensity may not increase as time progresses. Since I am strictly avoiding all saturated fats from the start of pregnancy, but inspite of all this Pain has come back. That is why I am thinking for liver cleanse. I dont want to remove my gallbladder. I have read somewhere that some women did liver detox even after 30 weeks of pregnancy successfully and the baby was fine."
11/11/2012: Maria from Frankfurt, Germany replies: "Hi Shais, I am breastfeeding my four months old and take ACV. I took it during my pregnancy too. My baby is perfectly healthy and happy baby sleeps well and eats well. I am firm believer that ACV is perfectly safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. But I also followed Teds remedies during pregnancy. Thank you so much Ted. Thank you Earth Clinic."
[YEA] 12/20/2009: Fran from Montreal, Quebec: "I was very happy to find the ACV and apple juice remedy for a gallbladder attach. As everyone who has experienced such an episode will attest, it is very painful and a mixture of as little as 1-2 tablespoons of ACV in 8 oz. glass of water or apple juice or half/ half provides almost immediate relief. Unfortunately, the only solution medics offer is surgery rather than prevention. I have tried to modify my diet but that doesn't always work so this info is much appreciated."Replies
[YEA] 01/13/2010: Bg from Ashland, Ky replies: "I had my first gall bladder attack on Thanksgiving and was miserable w/ pain. i researched and found this suggestion and any time i feel the familiar pain i drink a glass of this. i recently had another attack and did not have any of the AVC or apple juice on hand and had to drive to the store. i was already in a full on attack when i drank this, and it stopped w/in 35 min. i was curious if it diminishes faster the sooner you take it or if it will always average the same amount of time.
Thanks for all your help! this is much better than dealing w/ surgery!"
[YEA] 11/12/2009: Kim F from Chicago, Illinois: "I am 39 years old and have been having gallbladder issues off and on. I have done one effective liver/gallbladder cleanse that was very helpful, but the power of doing the cleanse is to do them continually until no more stones are left - which I haven't done yet... The best info I have found (of course in addition to earthclinic.com :))is available on sensiblehealth.com and researching Andreas Moritz.
I wanted to add my review for the 8 oz apple juice and 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar. I started to get the telltale soreness under my right rib cage yesterday morning so I took the apple juice and apple cider vinegar at the end of the day yesterday and then again this morning. Ahhh, the relief! I still have slight soreness, but no pain.
I highly recommend this remedy, but can't stress enough how much a gallbladder cleanse can truly help out in the long run.
Best wishes in your personal quest for health. :)"
05/28/2013: Rialou from Placentia, Ca replies: "I agree with Ti. The ACV treatment can help with pain but ultimately you want the suckers to NOT form in the first place. A change of diet is essential to avoid surgery, or even after you have surgery. I also agree with Mike who also said an ultrasound is necessary. In the meantime, though, eating more healthfully is NOT a scary thing to do, and the above diet works well. I do it a couple times a year, get relief, and don't have to buy any of the products they recommend on the site.
Please beware of cleanses or anything that claims to expel or dissolve gallstones. Your gallstones did not get there overnight, they will not leave overnight, and you could end up in the ER in the meantime. (This happened to a friend of mine when her bile duct clogged after attempting an overnight "remedy". The result? She had to have her gallbladder out anyway.)
05/29/2013: Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa replies: "Rialou: If you could please post a documentation as to the details of your friends "clogged bile duct" fallowing a cleanse, that would help clarify which type of cleanse she performed (as there are numerous variations). I would venture to guess her procedure was one of the "passive" type cleanse where one doesn't place any force over the gall or turn to sleep on the left side (so as for proper drainage).
If done correctly, a proper active gall cleanse will work 99% with no complication, imho.
It just seems too radical a departure if one in several thousand persons made a mistake or fallowed a bad procedure to throw a blanket of discredit over the whole of the remedy."
[YEA] 10/20/2009: Sharik from Arcata, Ca: "I have, for years, had a disintegrating gall bladder and, because I am allergic to anesthesia, have chosen to live with it. When I have an attack, I use 1/4 Cup ACV in 8 oz. of organic apple juice and the attack goes away within minutes (usually 15). I keep small bottles of apple juice around for just such times. When I use it for a cleanser or for any other reason, I also use apple juice as a sweetener, usually the frozen kind. Just pour a little into your water bottle, along with the ACV and fill with distilled water. For some reason it makes it much more palatable. Hope this helps those who find it difficult to take with water alone."Replies
