[YEA]  Jeff from Mnassas, VA writes: "Soak each foot in at least a 50/50 water/acv solution for 2 to 3 days, for 30 minutes each and you will rid your feet of any fungus/ athlete's foot and soften and exfoliate your skin to boot. Much harder to get at the nail fungus though."

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND COCONUT OIL

1 YEA

[YEA]  09/17/2007: Suzie from Huntington Beach, CA writes: "Well, I am not positive, however, all I can tell you is that after years of fungus on my two big toes... It's now gone!!! You name it I tried it... I thought it was from salon pedicures, then, I thought damage to my nail beds from running and maybe my toes hitting the top of my shoes... Well, needless to say... I just couldn't get the fungus to go away!!! Then my life was changed by this site! I started taking ACV (Apple Cider Vineger) and VCO and I am now fungus free! I was taking the coconut oil orally ( 3 t. a day) and it made me bloated so I didn't take it for more than a month I'd say... However, I did use it as a moisterizer every night after my shower and I would specifically rub it around and under my toe nails... I cannot believe that the fungus is gone!!! Honestly! I share my story every where I go! Nail shops really need this information to pass onto their clients... Fungus makes you feel so dirty... My beautiful toe's have returned! Thank you! Earth clinic and friends!"

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, BAKING SODA

06/21/2009: Sue Kruger from Albany, North Shore City, Auckland writes: "Nail Fugus- ACV and Baking Soda are very healthy to Ingest. I have had Nail Fungus on and off for 13 years. I will try both remedies as I know that they are very healthy and wise. I know that Tea Tree oil is a miracle remedy for many things like that as well. For a cure all, colloidal silver is good and can even kill herpes. Thanks for all the advice, and keep supporting these sites."

[YEA]  02/20/2007: Philip from Thunder Bay, Canada writes: "I have one foot cured and the other almost done with this new approach. I dip my toes in scalding hot water (one at a time) long enough that I can't take the pain anymore. I dry them off with a hair dryer and then apply antifungal ointment. I trim the nails as short as possible. I have been doing this for two weeks at bedtime and in the morning. It's working for me so far. I make their home small, hot, and poisonous. If they still want to live there, they will be uncomfortable"

I found it best to appy after showers, soaking etc. But also needed to use on perfectly dry nails like at bedtime. You can see the liquid being pulled in by the dry tissue. Cures work much quicker."

BAKING SODA

1 YEA

[YEA]  02/21/2008: Jessyka from Memphis, TN, USA writes: "I had the horrid nail fungus many years ago and took Lamasil to clear it up. When my father failed to do the same, the fungus returned years later, both pinky toenails now fully infected. Without the money for the medicine and the will to again risk its side-effects, I lived with it. 11 days ago, I adopted a baking soda regimine for other reasons (cancer preventative). Today, my right pinky nail simply fell off when I was drying after my morning shower. Beneath, a new nail - a perfect nail - was found growing in. Nothing else in my diet or lifestyle has changed other than the baking soda addition to my routine. Most Americans' lifestyles and diets leave our bodies too acidic for good health. Baking soda balances the bodies Ph, creating a more alkaline system. I mix 1 teaspoon in a glass of water at bedtime. Ideally, it's recommended taken in the morning with no food or drink for 1 hour before or after; however, as I'm hypoglycemic, I have to have my Coca-Cola (others have coffee) first thing each morning, so I don't drop dead. Regardless, I've noticed a number of improvements since adopting the baking soda routine (which is terribly easy to do - quick and simple). I'm sleeping better, my skin is clearing up, and, lo and behold, my toenail fungus is obviously dead... in eleven days!!! [Insert delighted giggle here] I couldn't believe it when I discovered the old infected nail barely holding on and falling away with the first touch and a shiny new healthy nail beneath (even if it is small yet). Now, I'm watching the still-infected nail on the left, and yes, it's got a line of "disconnection" appearing. I recommend giving the baking soda a try and do so for more reasons than defeated nail fungus. Go ahead, google "baking soda" and see how much you discover. In some European country (think it was Italy or Germany), a doctor is actually curing cancer with baking soda therapy, even in serious cases where changing the bodies Ph to one more alkaline is making all other treatments (as chemo) doubly effective. Cancer cells cannot thrive or spread in an alkaline environment. And consider this - it's in your kitchen. You cook with it. You eat it. It's non-toxic, has no ill side-effects, costs almost nothing, and even whitens teeth. I can't say everyone will have the astounding all-around results I have so quickly encountered, but I'd have to encourage them to give it a shot. It's too easy to implement not to try. That's one teaspoon baking soda stirred into one glass of water, once a day, preferably in the morning (but it doesn't seem to matter), with no food or drink for an hour before or after. Good luck."

04/13/2009: Myke from Colorado Springs, CO replies: "I have a question about the baking powder treatment. I've read on another site, to only take baking powder for 3 weeks or it will change the ph or alkalinity (I can't remember which), of your body to much and cause other problems. Hopefully the original poster will respond. How often and how long have you been drinking the Baking Powder water mixture? Also confused about the ACV treatment. It seems some people drink it as well as applying topically? Is it safe to drink ACV, and how much per day?"

EC: Note: Remedy is baking soda, not baking powder ...

BAKING SODA AND MAPLE SYRUP

1 YEA
1 NAY

06/02/2009: Whisper from Timmins, Ontario writes: "In response to Janice from Coloma, please do not double or try to alter the recipe, its simply 1tsp to 3tsp of Maple Syrup, you start at low heat which is a 6 on the dials after it comes to a boil which would be about 2 minutes reduce it to 3 and keep on stirring, caramel brown would be the color once done. Do NOT leave in freezer too long otherwise your going to make it hard as rock.

I currently have two friends who are trying it out, one has been on this for three days now and we are now seeing little dark dots on her planters wart.

Another has sebaceous cyst on his head, he's double the dosage, taking one recipe in the morning and one at night, it being his first day of using this he says "the cysts on my head didn't hurt today" his head was hurting so we'll see what happens in a few days. I'll keep you posted on results of the two people.

Response to Rena, my fungus dried up in three days a noticeable difference could be seen."

06/04/2009: Linda from Clinton, Iowa replies: "Hi, I just wanted to know do you think this treatment would also work for candida?"

06/09/2009: Sim from Portland, OR replies: "I wonder if blackstrap molasses would work as well as maple syrup as a trojan horse for the baking soda? For one thing, it is way cheaper than maple syrup (anyone notice how the price almost doubled last year when there was a supposed poor yield, but have not come back down at all??), but also this method of heating and allowing to cool and harden and then cutting off a piece in solid form might make the taking of BSM on a daily basis easier for those of us who really have a hard time taking the stuff in liquid form.

Is there any reason why the BSM might prove a less effective trojan horse in which to conceal the baking soda than the maple syrup?

Would the nutrients in the BSM be adversely affected by bringing the BSM to a boil in the manner described?

Thanks!

Sim"

[YEA]  05/21/2009: Whisper from Timmins, Ontario Canada writes: "Fungus and Cancer:

I've used baking soda and maple syrup to cure fungus that I had on my big toe. In a matter of 3 days of taking one batch of this every day I saw the difference.

What I did, in a small pot I put 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3 tsp of maple syrup I heated it up on medium (setting at 5) then reduced to 3 to allow it to boil for 5 minutes in all. Do not try to double the recipe otherwise you take away the effectiveness. Before it cools down too much I transfer onto a sandwich bag (not sure if this is wise, but that's what I've used so far) and I've put it in the freezer for about 3 to 4 minutes to let it cool and once cooled it comes off the plastic very easily, now don't let it sit in freezer too long otherwise it'll get real hard. Check it often and when it comes off then its ready to make into small pieces, I find its like making toffee, I twist it so that it looks equal lengthtwise and then take the scissors and cut into small sizes, once that is done I then take half of what I've cut and swallow them down with water. Some have eaten it straight from the pot I can't handle the taste and it seems to work just as well.

I learned this at another site and was wanting to share it since I've gained so much more from this site. APPARENTLY, HEATING it is VERY important. the molecules of the salts and sugars must be bonded by heat. THE FUNGUS OR CANCER loves the sugars of the syrup but then the attached sodium bicarbonate is A LETHAL TROJAN HORSE. I didn't use this for cancer but this information was given along with the fungus."

EC: This therapy is called the "Jim Kelmun Protocol"

Website: http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer02/Kelmun.html

05/22/2009: Whisper from Timmins, Ontario Canada replies: "Sorry I tend to differ from your link that you've posted I don't believe it to be The Jim Kelmun Protocol.

It's the study done by Dr. Tullio Simoncini he is surgeon, specialised in oncology, diabetology and in metabolic disorders. More over he is also Philosopher Doctor."

05/24/2009: Janice from Coloma, Mi replies: "I just tried making a batch of this. I didn't have a real small pot and figured 4 tsp is really not very much so I tried to make it in a metal measuring cup (1/2 cup). I couldn't cook it the five minutes because it foamed up so high I had to take it off the burner. What a hoot! Next time I'll try it in the full cup or buy a really small pot. It's in the freezer now. Hopefully it will come out o.k."

EC: Please let us know if it cures nail fungus.. very curious!

[NAY]  05/30/2009: Rena from Mineral Bluff, Georgia replies: "Hi Whisper From Timmins,

I did this recipe to the T for 5 days and still did not notice a difference, and by no means cured. Did your nail fungus get cured after 3 days or did you just notice a difference? At this point I have to give your remedy a big nay. I also remember Janice from Coloma was doing this recipe as well, I would like to hear back from her on this as well, Peace, Rena."

[YEA]  10/10/2006: Eric from Houston writes: "Vics = nothing, but bleach toenail fungus if it could penetrate the nail (See below). I have fungus -- 3 toes on one foot, and two on another and I tried the vapor rub fairly diligently with no success for several months. I gave up and wasn't putting anything on it for a while then the big toe nail got bumped on a couch and came completely off, so I tried some bleach on all toes for several months. The big toe is about 80% grown in looking healthy, while the others nails don't look any better. I concluded that the bleach absolutely works, but doesn't penetrate the nails well. So I think the next step will be to file off as much of the other nails as I possibly can and see what that does"

BLEACH, CHLORINE-FREE

03/01/2009: Tara from Boston, MA writes: "I have nail fungus on 2 toes. Have been soaking them in 3% hydrogen peroxide, also slathering oregano oil on them every day or so. After several weeks it did not appear that my attempts have been working (no normal nail growing in yet). So tonight I decided to try another approach. I had bought chlorine-free bleach at the grocery store months ago and never used it. Tonight I took a q-tip and dunked it into the bleach, then rubbed it onto the 2 nails. The ingredients on the bottle of my bleach say hydrogen peroxide and citric acid (they call this "green" bleach). However, the bottle does not say what percentage of H202. I suspect it's stronger than 3% drugstore because my nails have turned white where I applied it. This never happened when I soaked my foot in 3% h202! I will give another update in a few weeks but wanted to tell everyone suffering from this terrible fungus. It looks very promising!"

BLEACH, TEA TREE, VICKS

1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  07/06/2009: jenn4875 from Houston, Texas writes: "My husband has had toenail fungus for about 6yrs. I started looking up home remedies and heard about tea tree oil, bleach, vics, vinegar, and so on. We tried them individually with ok results. One night we decided to try a combination to see what happens. We put a drop of bleach followed by a drop of tree oil then vics. We covered the feet with socks and he slept with it on. He said it burned some, but not too bad. I have to say, we have gotten the best results by doing this. Every day the area we put it on has turned an orange color and is now soft and comes right off. I have experimented some to see if it's just the bleach and vics or tree oil and vics and so on, but nothing gives results like the combination of the 3. I am recently seeing sights using ACV and I think I'm going to try that too. It seems people are having very good results with that as well. I'll post again in a couple weeks with my results. We have been using this treatment for about a month so far. Good luck with whatever treatment you use."

CANESTAN CREAM

[YEA]  11/14/2007: Eddie from Glasgow, UK writes: "I have previously posted a comment about Canesten cream .... having tried this now for some time ... [YEA]  05/10/2007: Eddie from Glasgow, UK writes: "I read about the Canesten cream cure on this site a few weeks ago, mainly because I had a tube in my house, I use it for mild athletes foot, thats what its for. I filed my toenail and rubbed in the cream, and also worked it in down the sides of the nail. After two weeks I have some nice new clear nail growth, about two thirds of the nail is clear, and I'm hoping the rest will grow out. Dont know if it will work for everyone but it seems (at the moment) to work for me. As of today I'm also attacking the fungus with Tea Tree oil, and I like all the positive comments about Oregano Oil.... so I'll probably try that to....anything to get rid of this really...really anoying fungus...."

[YEA]  02/01/2007: Chelle from Denpasar, Indonesia writes: "Hello all, You must try this, i have had nail fungus on three finger nails for four years, tried everything possible from doctors prescription tablets and creams to home remedy oils, vinegar etc. Three weeks ago i met a woman who had nail fungus on her big toe a while back, she cured it in six months, i told her about my finger nails and she said i should use Canestan cream as that is what she had used on her toe. Well i had tried everything else so i thought why not. To my amazement and joy, my fungus has gone in just about a month of using the cream, in the next month i am expecting to have my nails back the way they used to be. You have got to try this, i could cry with joy at seeing after only a couple of days how the cream started to work. I clipped my nails right down then applied the cream, i applied the cream three times a day, i did not use band aid or anything to cover them up. It was just a small tube of cream and there is plenty left so i am going to us it till i finished the tube just to be absolutely certain its all gone and to help my nails start to grow back without anymore infections. The cream is not that expensive and you can buy it over the counter. You must try it. I came by your site a couple of months ago looking for a cure, i did try a few of the things but without any luck. Not long after that is when i met the woman. I just wanted to pass this on as i know how awful it can be and how down it can make us feel. Well good luck to you all, i hope it works for you."

CASTOR OIL

2 YEA

[YEA]  08/02/2009: Patricia from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands writes: "I noticed a question about using caster oil with nail fungus. I have a story you might find interesting. I had read about its anti-fungal action, and when I began to notice some nail damage, I began applying caster oil twice a day. As I was about to travel and I worried about getting more damage, I went to my podiatrist. He looked at my nail and said that he was sure it was a fungal infection but that he would take a sample for testing. When I returned a month later, he checked back on the test, and was shocked to note that there was no fungus there at all. He wanted to know if I were sure that I had damaged my nail --in other words, he began to look for another reason for the nail problem. There was no other problem and no fungus! caster oil works for nail fungus prevention and most likely treatment."

[YEA]  04/17/2008: Ann from Algonquin, IL writes: "I have successfully used castor oil to treat toenail fungus. My baby toenail was completely taken over by fungus. It had a black line running through it as well (another sign of fungus). I did this treatment twice per day until the nail grew out: First, I put two drops of vinegar on the nail. Then I placed a bit of cotton soaked in castor oil directly on the nail and kept it in place with a bandage. The nail is completely healthy. It's been almost two years since the treatment."

[YEA]  12/11/2006: Alice from Sierra Vista, AZ writes: "I was hoping Vince, or someone would explain the concentration of cayenne/salt/ and water. Not knowing, I made a paste where the cayenne and salt were approximately equal, and added enough water to make a paste. I pressed that beneath the nail as best as possible and rubbed it on the top. I have been using Store Brand mouthwash which is identical to Listerine, for the past 3-4 weeks. This has made a huge and fast improvement in my toenails, almost immediately. It was amazing! But I wanted to know more about the cayenne, because I have learned a remedy can be way way way better than I might have imagined! Plus I did not want to give the fungus any opportunity to become resistant to one treatment or the other."

Vince replies: "All I do is mix a little cayenne with salt in water. Maybe 1/8tsp of each in about 3oz, and just soak the nail or skin for athlete's foot. For nail fungus I try to clean out any debris and reapply it, to make sure it gets in. I only had to treat mine once. I have a thumbnail that looks like it is separating in one spot. Maybe I caused it by cleaning my nails with a penknife a few times, but I treated it anyway. VF"

I have been taking Extra Virgin coconut oil topically and orally for about 4 or 5 months now. My two big toenails have had fungus for over 20 years. [YEA]  12/31/2007: Michael from Elizabeth, NJ writes: "For the last 4 tears or so I have had a fungus on both big toes. The nail becomes thick and discolored with rough edges. Not an attractive sight. I have been using coconut oil now for about 9 months and can honestly say it has made a difference in the appearance of my toenails. One of the many properties of CO is antifungal. I can"t say enough about this tropical oil. I eat at least 3 Tbls a day I have more energy, have lost weight, no change in my cholesterol and love its taste. Try it and you will never go back to the other veggie oils."

[YEA]  04/12/2009: KT from Irvine, California, USA replies: "Coconut Oil is a miracle when it comes to SPEEDY cures. Keep this organic oil in your pantry at all times. It not only gets me rid of fungus within days (less than a week) but also got me rid of harsh toenail horizontal ridges and I could see the difference the very nexttt dayyy, a 60% visible reduction in those ridges, all gone within a week! I was totally bowled over. Applying coconut oil to my toenails was a total guesswork since I read that it's an antibacterial & antifungal agent when it comes to colon-cleansing. So I thought why not try it on toenails. Make this your # 1 choice for nail fungus, you'd be pleasantly surprised."
