TED'S REMEDIES
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Fibromyalgia is a musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. It is the pain in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons. It's like a bad pain when you have the colds. One's energy level is reduced to almost zero. Again, the official explanation for Fibromyalgia is unknown. But I do have my own pet theories and treatment. Most people will know that the common treatment for Fibromyalgia is malic acid with magnesium. However may I add, Malic acid and magnesium chloride. Malic acid is a component in the Krebs Cycle and magnesium is an important component in treatment of muscular pain. My suspicion is that Fibromyalgia is a viral origin due to the weakness in similarity to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). An easy way to get your energy back (within 45 minutes) is to get a clove oil mixed with 50% ethyl alcohol and spray it in the area of the feet, legs, arms, back, and tummy. Avoid sensitive areas. Do this every 10 minutes. Clove oil will absorb intradermally. Note: Clove oil is hot, so you have to withstand this heat, also if you are in anyway have a skin reaction to clove oil, use pure lavender oil for treatment or reduce the clove oil concentration just in case. Test in area of skin to see if you have a reaction to clove oil.
Your energy should be back before the hour as if nothing has happened. A very little known information that many do not know is clove oil, is strongly antiviral against Fibromyalgia and CFS.
As to the muscle pain, a treatment of malic acid and magnesium chloride and sodium bicarbonate should work. The usual treatment is 500 mg malic acid, 2000 mg magnesium chloride and 5000 mg sodium bicarbonate. This will act as a buffer, reducing lactic acid buildup and reduce pain by getting the PH in the muscle to stabilize.
Pain should be reduced to tolerability within an hour or two. Also as a good measure, you may drink water with 0.25-0.50% food grade hydrogen peroxide and MSM (Methyl sulfonyl methane) or its equivalent Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The usual safe dose is about 2 - 4 grams, about a teaspoon.
Both MSM and DMSO are strongly antiviral. I have treated this method and it seems to go away almost permanently. Of course weather has a great deal also as I live in the tropics, Bangkok, so virus are more controlled when the weather is something like 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Most viruses cannot survive when weather is over 102 degrees fahrenheit. A good synergistic treatment with Fibromyalgia, is to take 600 - 1200 mg of N-Acetylcysteine. My feeling the reason those supplements work with treatment of Fibromyalgia is due to the fact that all of them seems to be strongly antiviral.
These dosages that I used are per day. You may adjust dosages my dividing by three if you plan to take it three times a day. However, there are no limits how much you can take sodium bicarbonate and frequently if the muscle pain is terrible, I may go to 10 grams of this baking soda.
You MAY get diarrhea if you take 5 grams magnesium chloride. Malic acid, if you can't find it from your local health food store, just take apple cider vinegar, there's plenty of malic acid in them since sour portion of apple is the malic acid.
Since N-Acetylcysteine works in synergy with selenium, I strongly advise you to take selenium also. For those who do not have the luxury to take all my recommendations, the basics are sodium bicarbonate, magnesium chloride, malic acid, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, clove oil. Please adjust your clove oil mix with ethanol accordingly depending on your skin sensitivity. It will also be ideal if you take a drop or two of clove oil internally. Of course, some may complain it is too hot, but aren't cayenne peppers too hot? If clove oil is not your kin, go for fresh cayenne peppers, but it must be eaten by the mouth until your face turns absolutely red.
A footnote to Fibromyalgia is to stay away from white sugar, and white refined flour, pastries, bakeries, and bread. For some reason, virus have this love for sugar. Eat lots of salads using only italian dressing or other oil salad dressing, do not use those dressings with sugar or white sugar. If necessary to use sweeteners, use stevia as a sugar substitute, they are antiviral and they are safer than sugar."
-------------------------
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "First the prescribed dosages for Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) and Magnesium Chloride (5000 and 2000 respectively) are the ideal dosages. Unfortunately, you have to start with smaller dosages at meals, because taken all at once may lead to diarrhea. However, if you work your way up slowly, you will not experience any side effects. Apparently the body is not used to taking so much. For example, my mother years ago took 1,000 mg Magnesium Chloride and got loose stools. Of course, she needs it, but today, if I give her 5000 mg (5 grams) nothing happens. The same is true for Sodium Bicarbonate as well. Most of the effort is to find the ideal dosages, as well as splitting up the dosage over the course of the day (4 times x 250 mg each) with every meal, for example.
Also, recent research also indicates silicon deficiency which you can supplement easily with silicic acid. You should not forget vitamin E and selenium. These two have a connection with the said conditions also. If you take it, your conditions should improve within hours. (Weakness and shortness of breath is reduced). The effects of cayenne peppers and clove oil are fast also.
Finally, the regular consumption of water with 0.2% food hydrogen peroxide will help improve oxygen. You can try deep breathing exercises as well. If you have ever lived in the mountains, when the air is thin, these people breathed deeper and slower, and this habit is an important one to your overall health in increasing oxygen for the blood.
Try taking a bath in a de chlorinated water in disodium EDTA. This will both help your body remove the heavy toxic metal accumulation from your skin as well as remove your body of chlorine. One of the causes of chlorine is the water. Certain compounds will convert chlorine into a safe salt (Sodium Chloride) when treated. I now always de chlorinate my drinking water. Note: all water filter devices do not remove chlorine as well and it is best you treat them with a dechlorinator. One of the major causes of fibromyalgia of course comes from excess chlorine during shower as our body absorbs chlorine through the skin. Certain heavy metal accumulation on the skin are also responsible, such as free metal iron. Oral EDTA chelation will help remove excess iron from the body as Iron is an oxidant compound creating toxic free hydroxyl radicals which ACCUMULATES IN THE HEART. Another way is to donate some of your blood, to get rid of excess iron might also be helpful. There is some studies that show women heart disease is correlated with their periods. The risks of heart attack in woman is usually lower then men, but becomes equal to men, when the women no longer have their periods.
Here is another important information: whenever blood cells stick to each other, blood flow is hindered and iron accumulation rises in the heart. This sets of a chain reaction to a condition of fibromyalgia. One little secret that prevents blood from sticking each other that is WELL KNOWN by blood banks is to add a little amounts of EDTA. Taking some orally will also help prevents blood from being "sticky" and remove the unneeded iron accumulation.
I also understand that you are living in Thailand. One of the problems of drinking water in Thailand is the high levels of copper. Therefore, I suggest you also take zinc supplements. My preferred zinc supplements is zinc acetate as it is well absorbed and do not have side effects. Do not take zinc sulfate as it will cause vomiting. For some reason, magnesium and zinc seems to work synergistically."

08/09/2007: Helen writes: "I read your most interesting advise on Earth Clinic today. I have a question. What do you recommend that is a natural product for the pain of fibromyalgia? Helen London, ON Canada"
-----------------------
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Helen: While my own conclusions might be different from most other people because I rely a lot on observations by noting which remedies were helped. The reason for this somewhat long email is the misnomer of fibromyalgia label which is long overdue that I have to clear up.
First thing is fibromyalgia are made worse with sugar, fructose, fluoride, aspartame for example are all examples sources which suppresses the immune system.
The pattern would seem that the remedies which people responded well and are cured in many cases are those remedies which relates to where it is mycoplasma (fungus like organism) in nature, that has its existence found plenty from vaccinations, contaminants in food and air for example.
The reason why I know this is that most fibromyalgia responded quite well - immediate improvements were seen from peroxide therapies, alkalization, and boron (from borax). It therefore follows a pattern where mycoplasma's greatest weaknesses happens to be oxygen, boron and alkalinity.
Mycoplasma caused fibromyalgia cannot grow well in a healthy body with a strong immune systems. However you can severely compromise the immune system several ways, some of which is not as obvious as you might think, but keen observations will be noted as thus:
1. Brominated foods (nearly all white bread and white flour are bleached processed using the bromine process. A bromine will displace iodine, which is important for both the body's metabolism AND immune system. 2. Chlorinated water (most tap water are chlorinated and chlorine DISPLACES iodine. 3. Fluoridated products (obviously toothpaste, mouthwash and the drinking water in some localities) Halogens (usually Fluorine, Bromine and Chlorine) displaces Iodine lowering the immune system and this invites the mycoplasma into the system. Once they are in, its relatively difficult to get rid of except two major remedies: baking soda and borax) 4. Vaccination (rich with weak living mycoplasma and heavy metals, such as mercury and aluminum) 5. Chemicals and Artificial sweetners (aspartame) They break down into toxic chemicals which lowers the immune system. 6. Long term acidosis (most people's urine pH are well below 6, where the optimum pH is closer to 7)
While my findings is that in most cases fibromyalgia is caused from mycoplasma and mycobacterium, which results in severe joint pain and boron remedies, hydrogen peroxide and alkaline baking soda helped stopped this effectively.
There are certain fibromyalgia cases which caused nerve pains and neural problems, in which case vitamin B complex is helped greatly. Usually a neural one are of viral in nature as virus tend to reside in the nerve. If a severe weakness ensues, it is based on my observations of viral in nature, and has more to do with muscle pain than joint pain. Pinching pain for example can be from viral or heavy metals (metals shorts out neural condition in the brain) and epilepsy my come out of that too. So alkalization and a weak chelation usually cause the epilepsy to be nonexistent after taking those related supplements.
As you can see fibromyalgia is a symptoms of a condition, it is hardly considered a cause. In my personal opinion it is somewhat of a misnomer.
I prefer to describe the fibromyalgia here in somewhat greater detail to avoid the confusion. The cause can be either fungus or viral, being the most common. A viral nature would be more geared to zinc supplements as a remedy and some use of antiviral spices (clove oil), while the most common form I encountered were fungus in nature, that resulted in severe joint pain as fungus or mycobacterium tend to reside around the ligaments and the bones, which provides colonies to attached themselves there. While viruses don't attach themselves to bones, they due attach themselves to the nerves and the brain.
Of course other conditions symptoms of tinnitus (ringing of the ears), sleeping problems, paranoia, for example are also neural in nature too.
If this kind of symptoms fits the bill then the following remedies works well: alkalization, vitamin B complex and zinc. Some amino acid supplements really helps in case of a depression, but paranoia symptoms of fibromyalgia seems responds better to vitamin B complex. Such symptoms would indicate some problem of neural in nature (virus resides in the nerves, which is how AIDS viruses hide itself, or how the bird flu virus resides in the brain). A more powerful remedy here, but often not needed is the BHT supplements, which kills those viruses directly, based on my experience anyway.
For most people it seems there are both virus and fungus existing together, so therefore fibromyalgia is viral or mycoplasma (fungus like).
Since it seems that after getting rid of the mycoplasma, then the lingering viral is still seen. So it is apparent that both can be assumed but the more serious one at least for me is the mycoplasma because of the joint pain.
Therefore the remedies required to treat fibromyalgia is in two stages:
1. Deal with mycoplasma (fungus) 2. Deal with virus
My updated observations of fibromyalgia (August 2007) of several people whose condition of fibromyalgia disappeared if the following remedies were taken for just the first stage:
First Stage: Mycoplasma fibromyalgia remedy 1. Magnesium 2. Malic acid (or apple cider vinegar) 3. Boron 4. Hydrogen Peroxide
The magnesium chloride, or magnesium citrate were taken about 250-500 mg/day for a period of a couple of months. The malic acid (rids of aluminum and restores energy) is more difficult to deal with as it is acid and had to be be neutralized with baking soda to form sodium malate, also about the same portion as 250-500 mg/day. 250 mg is roughly about 1/4 teaspoon of malic acid plus about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to get it slightly alkaline solution. However, in the case of joint pain a stronger alkalization is needed to neutralize this form of mycoplasma (and a more severe form can exists in lupus) is 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in at least 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime.
The only remedy I know that can deal with joint pain from mycoplasma or mycobacterium is the borax. Of course I can take usually 1/4 teaspoon of borax in one liter of drinking water. The one liter mixture can be prepared and taken anywhere once or twice a week spaced equally apart, such as one on Tuesday another on Thursday. Some will take it as frequent as 4 days out of a week. Now a woman's dose in my opinion needs about 1/2 that dose which would be about 1/8 teaspoon, but some do in fact take 1/4 teaspoon borax in a liter of water.
While some people may not like taking apple cider vinegar, there are alternatives, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime, and on an empty stomach.
As to the brain fog and tiredness the hydrogen peroxide helped fairly quickly. The usual dose is about 3 drops - 6 drops of 3% H2O2 hydrogen peroxide food grade in 1 full glass of water usually taken once a day or twice a day. If once a day, then it's in the morning. If it's twice a day then one in the morning and one in the late afternoon just after work, where the body's demand for oxygen rises enormously during that time and peroxide added to the water is most helpful.
Once the first stage is completed after a couple of months, there will be other lingering conditions that remain those are viral. On the other hand if there was no joint pains and no other conditions that resemble fungus in nature than a second remedy or second stage ones is what I would use.
Second Stage: Antiviral and Neural Rebuilding Remedy 1. Vitamin B complex taken twice a week. 2. Zinc gluconate or zinc acetate supplements, usually once a week or once every two weeks. 3. 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water, taken twice a day OR 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day. 4. Amino acid supplements 5. Some seaweed or iodine foot painting to deal with the immune systems.
Smart drugs (hydergine and nootropil) will also help rebuilding and certain detoxification of fluoride was already handled with the first stage remedy as the boron chelates out fluoride from the body thus increasing the body's immune system.
That was how it was done a couple year's back when I thought it was just myoplasma in nature. However, looking back, both first remedies and second remedies can be combined to save time, but I didn't realize that at the time that there were lingering virus. The reason was the person who had it, failed to mention he had some other problematic conditions once his "major" fibromyalgia were cured.
In general many diseases of today are mycoplasma in nature. If you grow your own petri dishes the most common contaminant today (it was not like this 30 years ago) is the mycoplasma. Assuming this were the real cause, it is therefore no surprise all these newer diseases such as fibromyalgia, Gulf War Syndrome (from vaccinations using exotic semi-dead organisms), lupus, etc. only just came into existence and was not really that infectious before the 1970s.
It has since became popular only after someone from the U.S. military research applied for research patent on the mycoplasma during that period and perhaps a stronger more viable mycoplasma cultures have evolved after that. Just my wild guess, but those information can be easily found elsewhere and I need not post those information here again.
If the above is the case, than the mycoplasma greatest weakness is indeed, the alkalinity, boron, oxygen therapies (ozone and hydrogen peroxide).
p.s. as a note. Some people do not use hydrogen peroxide but used sodium chlorite. I don't personally like sodium chlorite as it is a close cousin of sodium hypochlorite, which is the chlorinated water we have been using all along. Therefore, hydrogen peroxide or ozone therapy would therefore be a more viable option.
As a sidenote, some people do take zeolite supplements to help too but are at a loss as to why sometimes this works. The reason is simple: oxygen concentrators out in the market use a zeolite to separate the oxygen and the nitrogen gases. Nitrogen tends to adsorb by the zeolite, while increasing the concentration of oxygen to the body. At lest that's how it works. More countless research hours will be needed to prove that one! But at least the oxygen concentrators (portable oxygen) using the zeolites does work. Oxygen is mycoplasma greatest enemies. I have read one case of a person with a severe mycoplasma in the intestinal system. So what the doctors did was open him up and spray oxygen (or ozone) to kill them and patched him up. Interesting surgery, but I think a hyperbaric surgery doesn't require that kind of invasiveness!"

I have tried low doses of antidepressants in the past but nothing worked as well to improve my sleep as 5-HTP has. I take 200mg per night. My type comes with several essential cofactors to assist in proper seratonin production. No side effects for me, unlike with the other drugs. I'm considering it for more members of my family. We have a genetic sleep and pain disorder. Hopefully we can find the right dose for all of us. I advise everyone to see a qualified ND or sympathetic MD before self dosing to be extra safe but side effects are rare thankfully."

Ted from bangkok, Thailand replies: "Question: Use iodine in my water, and to use for painting, how long may i do this?
For certain people they can do it when the need it. For some more serious condition, such as lupus, autoimmunity or that improvements is seen everytime it is taken, those can be taken indefinitely. The reason is the mycobacterium or mycoplasma are relatively difficult to kill, which is why people get bone problems as they get older, since the mycobacterium attaches itself to the bones causing osteporosis, or in ligaments, which causes the joints to fuse. Of course other bacterium is also needed to digest them, which tend to flourish. What is unique about the iodine is it causes the these organism from attaching themselves to healthy cells and prevent their growth by preventing colonies from forming.
Question: all of the water and all day? I need to be able to fix the water i drink.
Yes use of of the water all day. But if you finish that one liter you mix, I would just drink regular water from then on just for that day.
A good schedule for iodine consumption appears to be about 1-3 drops for first three weeks, diluted in a liter of water, provided that baking soda is taken as usual to maintain normal blood pH, but helps if some potassium bicarbonate is used, at 1/2 of whatever amount of baking soda was used. The reason why low dose is used initially for at least 3 weeks is so that the body can remove the bacterium debris out of the blood. It must be realized that the cause of the Herxheimer effect is due to whenever large numbers of bacterium are killed, releases a toxin resulting in an Herx effect. However, when they die, they also cause bacterium debris in the blood stream, or blood serum and it is the spleen that gets rid of those, along with the white blood cells which digest them now and then. Other pathways are possible to go such as to the liver, then goes to the intestines, but too much can go through the sweat glands causing acne. In which case, those acne caused by iodine can be reduced, if low dose iodine were used so the killing can be slowed preventing the system from becoming overwhelmed and can slowly get rid of the debris without overcapacity. Therefore this is why a small amount of iodine is used in the first place for at least a couple of weeks, before a larger amounts. The effect of the benefits of iodine can be seen to some extent with the clearing of some skin condition, albeit a slow process, but it does happen as the body becomes more purified. It should be understood that alkalizing plays an important role throughout by preventing microbes from growin in a more alkaline environment and using just iodine alone is not that helpful and other things should always be considered.
On the 4th week and up, more drops of iodine can be used, for me anyway, such as betweeen 3 drops to 10 drops with a mean of about 5 drops per liter of drinking water. If the iodine bottle is finished during that day, then just a regular water is used from then on.
The reason why some supplements are taken always, in my experience has very much to do with the mycoplasma and mycobacterium, that seems to invade people as the body's immune response is reduced, while at the same time autoimmunity occurs (because the mycobacterium attaches itself to healthy cells) appearing to be that the body immunity is overreacting when in fact it is growing at an enormous rate overwhelming the body. In those cases certain supplements such as iodine, borax, baking soda are quite effective in reducing this condition but not completely killing them, but certainly enough so that people can get on with their lives without the need for the health to prevent productive work. These same mycobacterium is what causes osteporosis, joint problems as well. And in addition to magnesium, people who have walking diability from joint problems can delay the use of a wheelchair as the magnesium prevents certain staph like bacterium from eating up the ligaments and the mycobacterium from eating up the bones resulting in bone fragility and breakage. However vitamin D, and vitamin K2 are also seen as helpful too. "

Usually I have them do the inhaling of peroxide a few times a day and give them at least 1/4 cup of organic vinegar with 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, a little cinnamon and water each day. This time I added Borax water (1/8 teaspoon to 1 liter of water) to the mix-and their colds were gone in less than 12 hours. No one was more stunned than I was that it worked so fast! But I shouldn't have been surprised. I have had painful joints from fibromyalgia for years, but sometimes the pain in my right shoulder is almost unbearable (I'm right-handed). The last flare had been going on about 2 months and I was getting very little sleep, which was what spurred my finally giving in and trying the Borax. Within three days the severe pain was gone and I was back to just the normal pain! Now I just need to make myself drink it EVERY day and maybe all the pain will go away.
But, back to the original subject, everyone says there is no cure for the common cold. After what we saw earlier this month, I have to disagree!"

[YEA] 09/08/2007: Pamela from City Withheld, Washington writes: "I have suffered with Fibromyalgia/Rosacea and TMJ for over 10 years... My first symptoms appeared shortly after I began taking Paxil. After about 8 months when I found the Paxil side effects intolerable, my doctor switched me to Prozac. Well...within 2 years, I had gained 75 pound, couldn't get my temperature to a normal 98.6 (it wouldn't budge above 96.6), broke out with a fierce case of Rosacea (skin blistering & pealing in layers off my cheeks), was chronically fatigued and suffered from TMJ symptoms.
After reading the FLUORIDE information on EarthClinc and researching the chemical formulas of the many antidepressants that I had taken over the last 10 years, I had an epiphany...My problem was FLUORIDE!!! Incidentally, the' symptoms of FLUORIDE TOXICITY are the same as Fibromyalgia so it wasn't surprising to learn that FLUORIDE is the primary ingredient in MANY widely prescribed antidepressants, including PAXIL and PROZAC!!!
Without delay, I began adding 1/8 tsp of BORAX and 1/8 tsp of NATURAL (UN-bleached) SEA SALT to a liter of
DE-CLORINATED water. This regimine just happens to both neutralize the FLUORIDE and KILL the nasty mites that cause Rosacea.
I began drinking 1 liter per day for 5 days. On the 2 off days, I simply drank purified, bottled spring water.
The results were nothing short of MIRACULOUS, within two weeks my face cleared, the redness faded and best of all, my temperature normalized TO 98.6 and my energy level began to steadily increased. (Do expect the break out to get worse before it gets better as the mites die off.)
In just one month, without dieting or changing my daily routine (other than adding BORAX & SEA SALT to my drinking water), I dropped 4 pounds and I continue to drop weight at about a pound a week. I attribute this to my increased body temperature and elevated metabolism.
ALSO...when I eliminated the FLUORIDE in my toothpaste, my gums stopped swelling and bleeding and all PREVIOUS phantom tooth/jaw pain simply disappeared.
Thank you, EarthClinc and Ted...The information you shared has truely been a blessing in my life...I wholeheartedly encourage anyone that is suffering with FIBROMYALGIA, CHRONIC FATIGUE, TMJ or ROSACEA to try this simple remedy as I have had only POSITIVE results and absolutely NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!
Incidently, this BORAX & SEA SALT water is extremely ALKALINE with a pH between 8 - 9 pH."
EC: We must also express our extreme gratitude to Jason Uttley for the chronic fluoride poisoning link, detailed in his article, The Cause of Fibromyalgia.

[YEA] 01/14/2007: Lynn from St. Petersburg, FL writes: "I have been taking vco for approximately two weeks now, at about 2-3 tablespoons a day, both in cooking, and melted like butter on foods. I have had severe muscle pain of unknown origin (probably fibromyalgia) for years. The Q-Ray bracelet helped enormously for a few years, but recently I have had a lot of pain. On day three of my taking the oil, my pain was all but gone, a recurrent cyst had disappeared, and my energy/stamina was phenomenal. I had suffered from very low energy for years, and take thyroxin. I now am "addicted" to the stuff, and would recommend it to anyone with these symptoms."

[YEA] 09/25/2007: Burness Speakman from Fredericktown , MO writes: "I read about the cold showers here 3 days ago. I have experienced whole body pain for as long as I can remember. Recently it has become unbearable to try and sleep without double doses of over the counter pain killers. The legs throbbed, prickley needles in the soles of the feet, leg muscle pain, skin pain, hip pain, numbness in the shin area. It was building up for years. I was ready to check myself in somewhere but I do not go to doctors. Anyway to continue. After reading the messages, I went and took a cold shower. This was the afternoon. Just before retiring I took another. This one really affected my body. Gasping and panting but not painful I stayed in the shower. For the first time since I could remember I had a peaceful night sleep. No pain in the legs at all, no numbness, no prickleys. I took three the next day with the same good results at night but with one more added strangeness. My Bowel Movement turned green. Not a dark green a kackie green and I was not constipated as usual. I gathered my bile was flowing. I had come to think I had a gallblader problem years ago but never associated the whole body aches with it. There might be some siatic nerve situation involved also, but I don't know. All I do now is that this seems just short of a miracle for me. I certainly hope it continues, because I don't know if I ever want to take another hot bath again as long as I live. Oh, the energy and high spirits are there too as others reported. Bless you all."

COMMENTS ABOUT OUR FIBRO QUESTIONNAIRE
[YEA] 12/27/2007: Joyce from Joelton, Tn writes: "Deirdre, Just finished reading case history questionaires tonight and I have a suggestion for whoever is doing this. I suggest he/she include another question re medications taken - now and before getting sick, as many people don't think of medicine as being chemicals or toxins - They might even want to read the article on fluoride toxicity by the person who developed fibromyalgia after two months of ciprofloxacin following a possible exposure to anthrax powder and inquire about specific medications such as ciprofoxacin and the antidepressants that contain fluoride (Fen-phen) in them -especially if he/she notes a more rapid decline in health in those taking antidepressants - I wonder if the tremors & brain fog they complain of might be helped by taking a good stress tab with meal time and bedtime. I usually tell people this timing because lots of people skip one or more meals - so I always tell them to take them when normal people eat their 3 meals a day whether they eat then or not
- Another question that might be useful in trying to pinpoint causes, any vaccines they were given prior to onset/or prior to overseas travel (I noticed that on fellow said his started after a trip to Korea -no military- This could indicate trouble starting from vaccines given prior to the trip. I especially suspect this since I recall reading an article by a female doctor with the VA system who made a darned good case for blaming the lupus-like symptoms of the Gulf Storm veterans on the mercury preservative in the injections they were given before leaving the states. Her theory was based on a study of blood work from many of those veterans after they developed the problem during the time that the VA system was denying that there was a syndrome with a cause.
A funny thing about that I was talking to a coworker at the VA where I worked one night who was one of those Gulf Storm vets about this doctors theory. He also expressed doubt that such a syndrome existed and told me that he was over there in the midst and didn't develop the syndrome. He later told me that he had refused to take the injections and took oral medications instead. I couldn't help laughing when I told him that he was the exception that proved her theory to be plausible.
I also noticed that many symptoms in lupus, fibromyalgia, fluoride/MSG/aspartame toxicity are the same, so I think they are going to all be involved. I remember being told in Family Nurse Practitioner pharmacology course that all antibiotics are toxic- the idea being to give enough poison to kill the causative organism without killing its host (patient)."
01/01/2008: Jason Uttley replies: "I appreciate Joyce's suggestions and feedback, even if I don't agree with them. First of all, I don't think there's much evidence to support a conclusion that mercury is a cause of fibromyalgia. I've read theories on that subject, including how it might be able to explain gulf war syndrome, but (at least in my opinion) it is a very weak theory and one usually tossed about either by those that don't know a lot about fibromyalgia, or those that don't really care much about the statistics of fibromyalgia. After all, how does mercury fit with a condition that exploded out of nowhere in the early 1980's? How does it relate to a condition that effects 95% women to only 5% men? And, perhaps mostly notably, why is it almost unheard of for children and newborns (who are known to be particularly sensitive to mercury and other toxins) to develop fibromyalgia? Children would be developing FMS en masse if mercury were really a cause of FMS (assuming mercury based vaccines were a major source of exposure, as has been discussed in the autism debate). Mercury maybe a plausible theory on autism (although not necessarily one I believe in anymore), but not for fibromyalgia.
Besides that, to anyone that says that the symptoms of mercury exposure are the same as fibormyalgia, I say....prove it!! Show me what the leading authorities in the world wrote of the symptoms of chronic mercury toxicity prior to the emergence of fibromyalgia. Show me that....explain how the statistics fit the primary source of mercury exposure.....explain what changed in the early 1980's with respect to mercury exposure....explain why children almost never develop FMS....and then, I'll be more than happy to listen. By the way, I believe MSG & aspartame have been linked to Lupus and MS, but not to fibromyalgia. Many of those with FMS, including myself, are very sensitive to those kinds of excitotoxins, but the symptoms are not the same. The symptoms are very much more in-line with MS. I don't think there's any question in my mind that excitotoxins are linked to MS, the only question really is can excitotoxins cause MS without fluoride exposure? I believe Russell Blaylock joined the fluoride community, in part, to answer that very question. A question I don't think we really know the answer to yet. As for adding a question regarding medications taken to the FMS Questionnaire.....I would just ask, what is the point of such a question? We already know based on what we know of fluoride toxicity that there is often a delay between when exposure occurs and when major symptoms begin (as is the case regarding the chronic toxicity of many major toxins). We also know that fluoride is cumulative in nature, so for many people, there may be more than one major source of exposure that triggered the related symptoms. This means that a lot of people won't be able to recognize the point of exposure that caused fibromyalgia. Adding such a specific question only serves to highlight that fact. From what we've seen, respondents to the questionnaire already use the Theories question to give us their thoughts on potential causes, be it, medications or otherwise. I tend to think that's the way to go, but that's just my opinion.
Finally, I think most of those suffering with fibromyalgia would probably find the following statement of Joyce's a little offensive..."I wonder if the tremors & brain fog they complain of might be helped by taking a good stress tab with meal time and bedtime." The problem isn't that it's wrong, is just that it sounds like what someone who doesn't really understand fibromyalgia might say. The brain fog associated with FMS is often described in it's most severe forms as if the person is developing dementia, or Alzheimer's. Can you imagine telling someone with dementia that they should just take a stress tab? And what of all the other symptoms?"

Myself with fibromyalgia for 11 years, my daughter with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) for at least two years and my wife with chronic fatigue syndrome for about two years.
I recently read the articles on iodine use for mammary fibrocystic disease and decided to treat us all with 12.5 mg iodine/iodate (50:50). The results after two weeks have been very promising. All three report increased energy and better sleep.
The MCS patient lowered reaction on exposure to voc, mold and carpet, absence of morning nausea.
The CFS patient: less depression, better hearing and better appetite, no headaches.
The FMS patient: less pain in major sites (cervical, thoracic and lumber spine), arm-wrist, better cognition, better tolerance to aerobic exercise, fewer migraine headaches. I will follow this up for six months and report again."

LINSEED OIL, TYROSINE, ECHINACEA
[YEA] Anonymous from Australia writes: "Linseed oil (refrigerated), Tyrosine and Echinacea cures wrinkles, arthritis, varicose vein pain, Parkinson's Disease, fibromyalgia. 5 tablespoons Linseed oil and 2 echinacea tablets 3 times a day. Don't take calcium, evening primrose and glucosamine if you have any of the above conditions. Just try to eat less meat and plenty of fruit and vegetables. Fresh vege juice is very good also try 1 clove of fresh garlic a day. Tyrosine stops the shakes of Parkinson's very quickly. You will feel so much better."
05/08/2008: Kristy from Lansing, Michigan replies: "My family used to see a physician's assictant rather than a 'regular' doctor. She was very much into herbs and vitamins, and would tell us how to make things like our own echinacea tincture. She also told us that if we took echinacea on a daily basis, it would stop working for us after awhile. She said ten days on, ten days off was a good way to go."

I used the recommened amount 2 tblsp; swissed it around in my mouth for 15 minutes, spit it out, brushed my teeth and drank two glasses of water. I have tmj--i did not think i would be able to do this for 15 minutes due to jaw pain but after 2 1/2 minutes my jaw pain left. The stiffness, pain and soreness in my body was gone before the 15 minutes was up. I have been suffering from fibromyalgia since 1991 and this is the only thing I have tried that gave me immediately relief. Today I sent my sister-in-law who lives in Louisiana a large bottle of sesame oil. Bless you and I thank you and your readers so much."

[YEA] 07/28/2007: Tara from Melbourne, Australia writes: "I began oil pulling 7 months ago and I suffered with chronic fatigue for 14 years. It cleared up that issue within a matter of days. I was confined to bed rest and had limited mobility but the oil pulling dramatically shifted things for me so much so I am now more fit and active and don't need to rest. I had been livimg this way for years and oil pulling gave me my life back. It also cleared up a skin problem I had when nothing else seemed to work. Recently, I came down with fibromyalgia and my doctor would not be prepared to treat me as it is not a "recognised illness". I was in chronic pain and was suicidal. I could barely move my tongue inside my mouth and could not walk. I was so ill, I had never experienced anything like the severity of this before. I kept oil pulling and changes occured incrementally every day until after a couple of weeks my health was back to normal. Oil pulling has changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a POWERFUL remedy."

[YEA] 11/24/2007: Patti from Canton, Ohio writes: "Thank you Ted for opening my eyes to PH balancing. I have fibromyalgia and cfids. My story began about 12 years ago with stomach problems, h pylori, acid problems, depression, anxiety; and the list goes on and on. over the years the condition got progressivly worse with symptoms such as numbness and tingling in arms hands feet, pain everywhere, headaches, insommnia, visual disturbances, hair loss. I began using the formulas in your posts and have found them to be helpful. especially baking soda and baking soda with lemon and lime, magnesium citrate. I have also been trying thr borax water as well and am hopeful this will add more healing power. I also have found a good Dr. who is helping too,she started me on compounded T3 therapy and antivirals because I have epstein barr syndrome. Thank you again for helping me and so many others with no hope. Patti from Canton"
11/24/2007: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Patti from Canton, Ohio (11/24/07) I don't know what T3 therapy is, but I would be taking L-lysine 2grams (2000mgms) 4 times a day for any virus, including EpsteinBarr.
"
11/25/2007: Patti from Canton, Oh replies: "Joyce, thank you for your advice about L lysine. Compounded T3 therapy is used to treat hypothyroidism. T3 is the active form of thyroid hormone, it is converted from the inactive form T4. I have been ill for many years but I feel I am getting well very slowly. My advice to everyone is to eliminate as much of the halogen chemicals as you can from water, diet toothpaste and medications. Ph balancing has helped me tremendously. The most benefical exercise by far is just to walk and some mild stretching. whatever works for you. be diligent with your healing program and never give up."
11/28/2007: Ted from bagkok, Thailand replies: "Patti:
A malic acid, with some baking soda to reduce its acidity also helps the fibromyalgia in addition to the magnesium. However, the key issue of this condition I have found is the alkalinity as the most important factor.
Common remedies for antivirals I used is zinc acetate or zinc gluconate 50 mg, and sometimes the olive leaf extract. For antivirals to work best, the body must be alkalized first and no sugar as it would fuel the virus.
One extra tip from a fibromyalgia sufferer is 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 3 drops of 3% H2O2 in one glass taken in the morning to help the energy level."
12/10/2007: Patti from Canton, Ohio replies: "Thank you Ted for your reply. I will try the hydrogen peroxide with the baking soda for energy. Lately I have had a setback in my recovery by the way of an increase in pain everywhere. Am really trying hard to keep a positive attitude an thank all on EC for all the great remedies. I tested positive for EBV, Negative for mycoplasma, neg for lyme, and had antibodies for cpn. I also have a small tumor on my anterior pituitary gland, but the Dr. doesn't think my illness has any relation to it. Thanks again for your feedback. Will not ever give up."

REMOVING FOOD SENSITIVIES AND DETOXING FROM CHEMICAL POISONING
[YEA] 03/06/2008: Emilia from Atlanta, GA writes: "I've had CFS for about 6 years and in the past few months I've made a remarkable recovery. In my case underlying causes were food sensitivities (dairy and corn) and PBB poisoning as well as metal toxicity. In Michigan in the 70s a chemical company accidentally dumped PBB into cattle feed and it got into the food chain. Working with my kinesiologist I've done a lot of detoxing and now am up to about 75% of the energy I used to have. I got rid of my aluminum cookware. This year I'll have my metal (mercury) fillings replaced. The headaches and other conditions like IBS are gone. CFS and fibromyalgia seem to be related to the body being filled with toxins more than its able to handle. That explains why conventional medicine can't figure out what the cause it -- it's a different set of causes for every individual. Still, anything you can to do detox should help, and look for food intolerances as well.""

[YEA] 04/03/2007: Margie from Upper Marlboro, Maryland writes: "
While visiting earthclinic's site to see what I could fine to help my anxiety, I saw information about 5HTP as another source to use for anxiety. So I wanted to find out more information about this little pill, because it was a toss up between the two (Rhodiola) I decided to use the Rhodiola which worked out perfect. I then did some more research on 5HTP to see what other benefits it was good for, and I found out that it was recommeded for Fibromyalgia. Such as sleepless nights, waking up 4-5 times in the night, the headaches, the pain in the joints, stiffness upon waking up in morning, I felt like the tin man on the wizard of oz. I also had other related problesm. I have been taking it now for five months and I am a happier person, more energetic, not as moody as before, mine is more clear and well the list goes on, and I don't wake up stiff like before; so getting more rest has made me more alert.
In addition, I have a question for anyone out there to answer if possible. Since I take Rhodiola and 5HTP together I wanted to know if this harmful since both are a mood relaxing vitamin. I take the one for anxiety the other for the Fibroymyalgia. In addition, after reading more information about 5HTP and some side affects I was wondering if I should stop using it for awhile. If anyone has an answer please respond. I want to say though that since I have been using it I have had no side affects that were bad only good ones."
Jason Uttley replies: "Much like Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), the herb Rhodiola, appears to have the ability to enhance cellular energy production. Given that a decline in ATP production is known to be associated with fibromyalgia and fluoride poisoning, Rhodiola might be worth trying. Dr. St. Amand, the champion of the guaifenesin protocol, advocates CoQ10. Since CoQ10 is found within the body naturally that's certainly the safest choice. However, it may be that Rhodiola is also of some help as well.
5HTP, the precursor to serotonin, claims to help elevate mood, promote deep sleep, increase mental function, and normalize digestion. Such claims may well be true, but I would still highly encourage people to eliminate fluoride from their diet first instead, since that will go a long way toward doing the same thing. "
