I was working as a front line supervisor, however could not work nights or walk the 5 to 6 miles a day required by the position. Now, I sit at a desk all day and try not to allow being stationary for so long at a stretch cause my back problems.
How has Fibro affected your life: Completely dictacts my private time activities. There is nothing I can do anymore with any enthusiasm, regardless of how much I might have enjoyed the activity in the past. I have no significant other - I separated and divorced my husband 3 years ago and I have no desire to try to make that type of connection again. I just don't have the stamina! It is difficult to think that my 85 year old mother is actually more capable of doing things that I am, but it is a fact. Not looking forward to the rest of my life in this condition.

I still face people who, upon hearing I have Fibro, make rude comments about there is no such thing or that I am just a slacker. I was a Class A personality-overachieving at every turn. This is a living hell!

Are we missing any important questions: You didn't mention being overweight. I wonder how much it actually affects FMS symptoms. Some persons I've spoken with have not experienced a lessening of FMS symptoms. My fear is that the trauma of surgery will increase mine, but I don't think it could get worse.
