I can forget the name of something that will never come to me without someone telling me or reading about it. For the past three days I cannot remmeber for the life of me how much money I make per hour at my job, I will have to call and ask. It has been almost a year since a raise but I have no idea how much it is right now. A few weeks ago I walked up to a vender and wanted a hot dog with sourkraut but could not remember the name. My daughter gets mad because I will ask her a question and right after she answeres I ask the question again and am completely shocked that I aready asked it.
Estimate number of doctors you have seen for Fibro related symptoms: 10 - 12
Do your doctors tend to focus on all your Fibro symptoms: no they keep trying to get me to take meds, I don't like them becasue of the side effects, they find me a problem case mostly becasue they feel I don't cooperate, exchanging my mind for pain relief is not an answer nor is gaining unhealthy weight
Do your doctors treat your symptoms individually or collectively: I hardly let them treat me anymore, I do get a script for vicodine every 8 months to a year a will take only a half of pill to help me manage the pain. I do not believe in total pain relief with meds. no pain equals no brain. I will not give up my mind
Describe your experience with doctors: after years of telling doctors of my pain and having them tell me there was no good reason and I was depressed, I finally found a group that understands but they think I am just stubbron and uncooprative. Everything they have prescied makes my memory worse and I stop taking it.

If so, which sources of fluoride: prescription drugs, tap water, pesticides when I can buy organic, I live high in the moutains, low florides here
Have you made dietary changes to avoid any other neutrotoxins: never use a microwave, cook and bake only from scratch, drink lots of water, no pop or juice, no tuna
Have you tried any thyroid specific treatments: no
Your theories or comments: I have found that people with fibro tend to be dehydrated, liquid clacium and magnisiun malate help me to stay awake and alert during the day, moving back and forth to music while driving helps greatly, vinager baths are like a small miricle, (1 cup to a tub of hot water) feeling good about yourself very important, shoes with miricle foam very important to me
Are we missing any important questions: IT has been twenty years ago when I first was correctly diagnosed, so I do not know if it still holds true, but it was very difficult to be diagnosed. I got a clue from an eye doctor who could not fit me with contacts, he suggested that I see a rumatolagist. I have found that there many things that are needed to help you feel better. At one time I was ready for a wheel shair, struggled through every day, alternative medicine is why today I feel much better and am now working. please forgive mis-spellings I cannot see the screen well enough to check speeling!

Then one day I got a 1st time sinus infection that was very unusual and would not go away. It caused me to be completely unable to breath through my nose as if someone had filled my nostrils with concrete. I believe now this may have been caused by my apt being fumigated and then moving into a home which had just been fumigated shortly before the sinus incident. So the sinus dr prescribed 2 months of Cipro and Flonase and Prozac. All highly dosed Fluoride prescriptions. I was hardly eating anything at all, just ingesting a great deal of Fluoride apparently. This is exactly when my PAIN symptoms began. Finally, the dots have been connected.

Restless leg, Sleep Apnea (to be fair the restless leg was brought on by the anti-depressants and the med to treat the RLS caused the Sleep Apnea) I go to a chiropractor 2-3x a week and a massage therapist...he does deep tissue, myofacial release and pressure point. Helps majorly for all issues but can't afford what I need to get over the hump to get on with my life.

What I do recall... paxil Still on 1.25mg of clonazapam to sleep for RLS I've been trying for 4 years to get off and I've gotten from 3mg down to 1.25. Your theories or comments: I find its all about diet and proper hydration and keeping my back/body in proper alignment. I was living in SoCal for almost 4 years and the weather there was ideal. The pollution inland wasn't good. Still sensitive to smells but I was almost symptom free .. I was never able to get well enough to work and get off SSI which in turn made housing next to impossible to keep. So without stable housing I never got on my feet and finally left. Weather here is not conducive to good health.

I can't sit cross legged or any kind of bending my legs for a long period of time because they not only ache but hurt tremendously to unbend. My back and hip seem to continuously hurt intensly that at times I feel like I can't do anything without a prescription pain medication. My muscles continuously twitch sometimes violently and I have trouble sleeping. I get upset and cry easily. I feel like I "freak out" alot which is not like me before all this started.

How has Fibro affected your ability to work: haven't worked for 3 year b/c... extreme fatigue-foggy brain -poor memory-disorganized input of sensory information-- blurred vision, chronic headaches, body aches, burning pain, sensory dysfunctions-tingling, electric shock sensations, sore muscles, insomnia, almost agoraphobic at times due to sensory overload-difficult to drive, chronic bladder irritation- pungent urine -burning and frequency, IBS, chronic heartburn with sour stomach, depression -- (conservation withdrawal) very little energy to deal with people, hyper excitable startle reflex, clumsy -POOR EXERCISE TOLERANCE, SEXUAL NUMBNESS, CHRONIC NECK AND BACK PAIN
How has Fibro affected your life: I have all but socially withdrawn-difficult to keep up with people-it is more soothing to isolate in quiet than to deal with social chaos I am a very intelligient, capable, hard-working, compassionate person- I have always given my best at work- for a long time my self-esteem and self image as well as body image has suffered tremendously- it is difficult to pursue life passions when you can barely get off the couch - for a long time I BECAME my symptoms- as though"I" had disappeared -it has built my faith -though and I pray constantly-it lightens my spirit at least and I have developed a wicked sense of humor I am told -but it SUCKS-hard to not get into a victim mentality because we all well know that western medicine is NON-CURATIVE-- I am in the profession and am horrified by the way I have been treated at times by these "doctors"- IN MANT WAYS-MY LIFE HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM ME
What were your first symptoms: I know when I was on the INH I hated it- upset stomach-chronic headaches, unable to think clearly -exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed- so starting from age 9 -I HAVE NEVER HAD MUCH ENERGY-WAS A VERY ANGRY CHILD (WITH GOOD REASON)
Your age at onset of symptoms: 9
How fast was your rate of decline: as mentioned- I REALLY CANNOT REMEMBER EVER FEELING GOOD, HAVING ENERGY-BEING HAPPY AND SPONTANEOUS -I NEVER FELT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE SEEMED TO FEEL (ALIVE)-I AM NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT DEPRESSION
What are your current symptoms: EXTREME FATIGUE, LACK OF MENTAL CLARITY- BLURRED VISION, HYPERSENSITIVE TO ENVIRONMENT (SMELLS,SOUNDS,LIGHT,COLS, HEAT ETC) CHRONIC HEADACHES, PALPITATIONS -EMOTIONAL LABILITY, HYPOGLYCEMIA (IMPROVING SINCE I EAT EVRY 2-3 HOURS) CHRONIC BLADDER, BOWEL AND STOMACH IRRITATION, BURNING SKIN, FOUL URINE SMELL, FOUL BODY ODOR, VAGINAL YEAST, ORTHOSTATIC CHANGES, CHRONIC HEADACHES AND CLUMSINESS, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, INSOMNIA, MOOD SWINGS AND I HAVE THESE TINY PALPABLE -I AM GUESSING CALCIUM DEPOSITS ALL OVER THE TOPS OF MY FEET- ABOUT THE SIZE OF A GRAIN OF SAND- 20-30 ON EACH FOOT
Number of years since you developed symptoms of fibromyalgia: 35
Do your symptoms include brain fog: YES
Number of years since you developed the brain fog: 35
Describe the extent of your brain fog: intermittent as a child -perhaps it was a dissociative state to protect me in childhood- but on INH I know I felt strange a lot - i fought terribly with my mother -I thought she was poisoning me with the medication
Estimate number of doctors you have seen for Fibro related symptoms: at least 10
Do your doctors tend to focus on all your Fibro symptoms: I NO LONGER SEEK MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FROM MD'S- STOPPED YEARS- WON'T GO UNLESS FORCED TO BY JOB REQUIREMENT AGO- BEEN TRYING TO HEAL MYSELF HOLISTICALLY
Do your doctors treat your symptoms individually or collectively:
Describe your experience with doctors: WITH RARE EXCEPTION-I AM HORRIFIED BY THE LACK OF INQUISITIVENESS, COMPLETE ABSENCE OF COMMON SENSE, JUDGEMENTAL DISMISSIVE ATTITUDES MIXED IN WITH MASKED MISOGYNY LACK OF INTEREST OR COMPASSION THAT'S MOST OF THE MD'S -- DC'S ON THE OTHER HAND I WOULD SAY ABOUT THE EXACT OPPOSITE!!!
What remedies or medications have you tried: HYPNOSIS, FLOWER ESSENCES, MASSAGE (MULTIPLE TYPES OF BODYWORK-ROLFING, MYOFASCIAL RELEASE, NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY) ENERGY WORK (REIKI, ETC), PRAYER, MEDITATION, AFFIRMATIONS,DIETARY CHANGES, THREELAC, APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, CHINESE HERBAL THERAPY, ACCUPUNCTURE, COLONICS, COLLOIDAL SILVER, AROMATHERAPY, OREGANO OIL, COCNUT OIL, DETOX BATHS, PSYCHOTHERAPY-PROZAC,ZOLOFT,LITHIUM,WELLBUTRIN,AMITRYPTILINE,PAXIL,CELEXA,DEPAKOTE,LAMOTRAGENE,XANAX. KLONOPIN, ZANTAC,REGLAN,INDERAL-MORE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS I CANNOT RECALL. ALOE JUICE, NONI JUICE, SWEAT LODGE, MARIJUANA, CHIROPRACTIC CARE, MAGNET THERAPY, DIGESTIVE ENZYMES, MAGNESIUM OIL , AMP FLORACEL -AND MANY MORE...
What makes you feel better: MAGNESIUM OIL -HAS ALMOST COMPLETELY ELIMINATED MUSCULOSKELETAL PAIN- HELPS WITH PALPITATIONS, AMP FLORACEL HAS GIVEN ME A SOME ENERGY BACK- SOOTHED MY BELLY A LITTLE AND SEEMS TO HAVE GOTTEN MY SEXUAL FUNCTION BACK ON TRACK( ITS ONLY BEEN A COUPLE OF MONTHS- BUT I HAVE THE SWEETEST FEELING OF HOPE THAT WITH TIME... APPLE CIDER VINEGAR 1 TBS+1 TSP SEA SALT IN H2O 2-3 X DAY (HELPS WITH BP, DIZZINESS), MASSAGE, PRAYER, ENERGY WORK ,MEDITATION, SUPPORT GROUP, THE ONLY MEDICATION I TAKE SOMETIMES IS XANAX -IT TRULY IS ANXIOLYTIC- DETOX BATHS (WITH EPSOM SALTS, MAGNESIUM OIL, BAKING SODA, APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. PET THERAPY DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT MY DOG AND CAT. REST IS ESSENTIAL- NAPS ARE ESSENTIAL- SLOWING MY PACE DOWN (WHEN I HAVE A PACE). PRAYER, MARIJUANA EASES ANXIETY, CALMS STOMACH DOWN, HELPS ME SLEEP -DECIDING NOT TO BE A VICTIM -DECIDING TO STOP BEING SO HARD ON MYSELF -THINKING ABOUT DISCOVERING A CURE AND SPREADING IT TO ALL WHO SUFFER
What makes you feel worse: NOT SLEEPING WELL, NOT HAVING ENOUGH SALT OR WATER, POOR EATING HABITS, WEATHER CHANGES- COLD AND RAIN ESP. WHEN I HAVE A LITTLE ENERGY- I TEND TO GET EXCITED AND TRY TO CATCH UP- END UP OVERDOING IT-- BACK TO EXHAUSTION CAFFEINE, SUGAR, FAST FOOD, STRONG ODORS, SENSORY OVERLOAD.
Have you tried avoiding fluoride in your diet: NO
If so, which sources of fluoride:
Have you made dietary changes to avoid any other neutrotoxins: I CANNOT ABIDE ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS (I FEEL REALLY AWFUL (NEUROLOGICALLY) IF I ACCIDENTALLY EVEN GET A MOUTHFUL OF SOMEONE'S DIET DRINK- TRY TO AVOID PROCESSED AND FAST FOODS
Have you tried any thyroid specific treatments: NO-BESIDES ENERGY WORK
Your theories or comments: . I KNOW WE DON'T GET MORE THAN WE CAN HANDLE--WE ALL MUST BE VERY, VERY SPECIAL TO OUR CREATOR -HE IS GROOMING US TO RISE UP AND CHANGE THE WAY WE LIVE LIFE ON THIS PLANET -WE ARE HER CARETAKERS- WHAT WE DO TO HER WE DO TO OURSELVES I SAW A WEBSITE THAT REFERRED TO US AS FIBROCANARIES-- OUR SICKNESS IS A WARNING TO ALL -STOP POLLUTING THE PLANET -GROW YOUR OWN GARDEN -I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MD'S TO START GETTING SICK WITH THIS SO THEY CAN GET A GRIP ON HOW BROKEN OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IS. ONLY AN ESTIMATED 2% OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE CURATIVE I QUESTION EVEN THAT FIGURE! PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE PART OF THE POISONING!!!!
Are we missing any important questions: EARLY 1980'S MANY WOMEN COMPLAINING- OF FIBRO SYMPTOMS-- WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN-- I AM WONDERING ABOUT THE PRENATAL EXPOSURE TO DES AS A CAUSATIVE FACTOR -YOU KNOW IT WAS DISPENSED LIKE CANDY IN THE 50'S AND 60'S. I DON'T KNOW IF WE CAN DEFINITIVELY EVER FIND THE EXACT CULPRIT- IT IS A COMBINATION OF FACTORS. I HAVE LONG SUSPECTED SOMETHING ABOUT THE KIDNEYS- BECAUSE OF THE WEIRD URINE SMELL-- THE THING IS...ACCORDING TO ONE STUDY ONLY 28% OF FIBROS HAVE NOTICED THEIR URINE SMELLED FUNNY-- BUT DID THEY EVEN ASK THE QUESTION-HAVE YOU EVER ACTUALLY SMELLED YOU OWN URINE- NOT HAVE YOU NOTICED AN ODOR- I DON'T SMELL IT UNLESS -I SMELL THE PAPER AFTER I WIPE- BECAUSE I HAVE A SENSITIVE BLADDER - I AM CURIOUS IF I AM DEVELOPING UTI- ODDLY FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS I USUALLY SMELL MY URINE TO CHECK FOR INFECTION SMELL--- BEING A NURSE- THERE IS A CHARACTERISTIC UTI ODOR- THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM UTI ODOR. SO WHY AREN'T THEY STUDYING THE URINE TO FIND OUT WHAT IS CAUSING IT?? I LIKE THE MUCINEX THEORY MAYBE TRY IT NEXT- BUT I CALCULATED THAT IT WILL TAKE 9 YEARS TO CLEAR ME- YIKES!!!

How has Fibro affected your ability to work: i cant work for long periods of time. it hurts when i work. i cant concentrate and get anything done. losing function of my hand, arm, shoulder which i rely on from the pain and stiffness. cant bend for periods of time because of my back pain and stiffness. constant agonizing pain makes it extremely difficult to work but i am fighting through at the cost of everything to try to continue running my business until i am completely crippled.
