1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 03/23/2008: Middlebunny from Jersey City, NJ, USA writes: "Ailments: Fibroid, eczema and Meningioma (brain tumor)
Remedy: Blackstrap Molasses and Borax Cures
Do they work? Maybe
I have had eczema occassionally for years. I'm not sure of the cause. My dermatologist used to prescribe elocon cream; however, this is no longer on the rx formulary for my health plan and too expensive to purchase without insurance. I began putting 1/4 teaspoon of borax (laundry soap) in 1 liter of water and drinking this while at work. I'm not a water drinker so I rarely finish the whole bottle and don't do it consistently (4 days on and 3 days off) as Ted recommended. Despite this, the eczema seems to be improving substantially. It is no longer itchy and seems to be fading away after about 6 weeks.
I was diagnosed with uterine fibroid tumors in January 2003 and have been avoiding surgery. In 2006, a reproductive endocrinologist advised me that the fibroids had expanded my uterus to the size of someone who was 6 months pregnant. He scheduled me for a myeomectomy (abdominal versus vaginal) which I later cancelled. I wasn't comfortable with the doctor nor did I want to spend 2 months recovering. In 2007, I was also diagnosed with a meningioma on my right optic nerve close to where it intersects with the left optic nerve. Because of the location surgery wasn't possible so I did the recommended 6 weeks of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy. This apparently has stopped the tumor growth but triggered a whole host of other problems (loss of taste sensation, more eczema, hair loss, exhaustion, black spots on my tongue, etc., etc) which is what led me to the earthclinic.com website.
Thanks to Ted and the other contributors to this site, I have found out that my body is acidic (5.9ph) which might explain why I had such a bad reaction to the radiation. In the meantime, I have been trying a few of the remedies with enough success to make me realize that modern medicine isn't always best for every health condition.
I have been taking Blackstrap Molasses since I first stumbled on the website about 5 months ago along with ACV and Baking Soda. I'm not very good at taking them daily since I forget, I have increased my intake of vitamins and supplements. I take a multi-vitamin (after breakfast of instant oatmeal) every workday with the ACV/BS in glass of water(before eating). My GYN prescribed Ponstal to contol the unbelievable bleading during my periods which come about every 21-24 days from the onset of one. I'm still in the phase where I only have about 5 days a month with no bleeding or discharge but I think this is improving. I went through some sort of healing crisis last November and thought I might have to be rushed to the hospital due to the uncontrollable bleeding but since then it has improved. The Ponstal must be taken with food every 6 hours so I generally do that for the first 4 days of every period. In addition, I take about 1-2 tablespoons of BSM in the morning before work and 1 after dinner at night while I'm taking the Ponstal. I seems to be reducing the bleeding and shortening my heavy flow days from 7 to about 4. It is difficult for me to say for sure that the BSM is the reason for my improvement since I'm doing a lot of cures at once. I'm also taking a garlic tincture that someone made for me which is supposed to help dissolve the fibroids (this is garlic cloves with vodka which sits refrigerated for 2-3 weeks, drained and then taken orally with a dropper). I also don't take that consistently either. You are supposed to take 25 drops 3 times a day (after the 1st month where the # of drops vary). I generally only take it in the morning and occassionally at night. To avoid smelling like garlic all day, I brush my teeth with baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and floride-free toothpaste, then drink water with a teaspoon of chlorophyl. I ususally do this every morning before work but have reached the point where it seems to give me gas later on during the day so I'm currently taking a break from the garlic tincture (2 weeks so far) until my stomach can handle it again.
I would really like to know what Ted thinks of my remedy experiments to see if they should be modified in any way. If any of your readers have suggestions, I would appreciate those as well.
Thank you, MB"

[YEA] 08/09/2007: Tiffany from Los Angeles, California writes: "After my third period using Terramin Clay and BSM I can confirm that the tumors are no longer present.
When I began the Terramin treatment I noticed an abscess on my left breast that drained for appox. 4 days (the scarring remains as proof this occurred). Since then I no longer experience phantom pains that I had from my left breast. As I continued my treatment I noticed that during the second of the three periods an abscess formed outside my vaginal area. This drained for appox. 4 days concurrent with my period.
After the second period I've begun to experience an increase in energy, weight loss has continued (the fibroids increased my weight and this is being automatically reduced),dark circles under my eyes are gone, and NO MORE tumors as of third period. Also, no acne.
Native Americans use[d] clay to remove tumors and I can confirm that it works. Also, using BSM regulates the period VERY well. I will now decrease my use of Terramin and increase the use of BSM to regulate my cycle.
This is a wonderful cure for tumors, both the BSM and Terramin have similar mineral components and you don't need surgery to be healed"
09/05/2007: Lisa from Bridgetown, Barbados replies: "Clay for fibroids Please post this question on the site. Tifanny, could you please clarify if you used the TERRAMIN tablets or Terramin powder? I have one uterine fibroid of 10cm. I will start using ACV & baking sokda and then use the clay in either powder or tablets depending on what you suggest that I use."

[YEA] 07/13/2007: Tiffany from Los Angeles, California writes: "I've experienced all the symptoms of Fibroids. I did BSM and it did significantly help; enough that my partner noticed the reduction in blood. I became a Vegetarian also to cut back on eating animals and consuming their toxins and fatty materials.
I'm using terramin clay (eat plenty of apples for fiber) now to stop the fibroids. What I have noticed coming out of my body now is astonishing. It's really de-toxing. I stopped using BSM and not solely use the clay, although I may return to the BSM for a little while longer. Both the clay and BSM are rich in iron, so my hair and nails are growing like mad and are extremely thick and strong. I'm now begriming to naturally lose the weight I gained from the fibroids. I deduced that the product will speak for itself and I'm not going to kill myself in the gym trying to lose weight. My appetite has diminished so that I eat one complete meal a day and one small one in the evening, if at all. My cravings for sweets is gone; however, I do chew ice - now I think it more to do with work stress than anemia as my eyes are white with no discoloration and the other signs of a healthy body are reappearing. I will say that I need to get into shape. Although, fatigued doesn't last long, walking up stairs just about kills me. I ordered the clay through cal earth minerals when I saw the discovery channel piece on its calcium ab/adsorption benefits too."

BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES, NATTOKINASE
[YEA] 11/08/2008: Lisa from Bradenton, Florida writes: "I've read a lot of these testimonials and after reading so many women suffered the exact same conditions I have I really want to share something in addition to the molassas that really does make a life changing difference.
I too have had anemia problems all my life and they became severely worse when I developed fibroid cysts(myoma). After an ultra sound indicating some extremely large cysts my Doctor advised a hysterectomy was the only alternative in removing the fibroid cysts. I opted to get back with him about that decision. I researched for an alternative cure and what I found was a product called Fibrovan which not only rid me of my fibroid cysts in less then 60 days, but reversed my anemia within the first week. It saved me from having a hysterectomy and rid me of my chronic anemia.
After I rid my body of the fibroid cysts I then started a regular intake of a TBSP of molasses in my tea each morning as my sweetner and I have not had any anemia problems whatsoever in over a year. Mostly I have to give an enormous amount of praise and gratitude to the supplement but...the molasses too is making a difference in boosting my iron."

Could you tell me how large your fibroids were? I would like to try a natural cure for healing from fibroids. I am wondering if castor oil packs can shrink all sizes of fibroids. I have a few, one is 7.5 cm, and a 4cm cyst on one of my ovaries. One fibroid is calcified.
Thanks so much."

I had a protuding fibroid the size of a GRAPEFRUIT---that was trying to abort itself through my cervix. Before I almost bled to death I had it surgically cut out. It developed over 6 months and just after I was prescribed birth control pills (hormones)from an obgyn. I stopped the pills after two weeks but the fibroid continued to grow.
i gulped bs molasses from the jar after the surgery. Then i stopped drinking that nasty bsm and eliminated the birth control pills. I changed my diet. No meat, eggs,( which is full of hormones ) no fish, and minimal dairy products and (only if RBST free or goats milk.) LOW FAT, HIGH FIBER is good. I eat kale on my sandwhiches instead of lettuce etc.
I eat sour kraut and drink water water water. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE INCIDENCE SINCE 2003. THATS ABOUT 6 YEARS.
If I slip up on this regimen, I notice it. My next period is clotty, lasts longer, and is more painfull, the tint is red/orange. ---TIME TO get my diet back on track BUCKLE DOWN!

[YEA] 11/07/2008: Bonnie from Hamilton, Hamilton, Ontario writes: "I have read your site about black strap molasses and "hoping" to get rid of fibroid tumors. I have tryed it and it didn't work for me. I think this site is just a way of getting people's hope up. I had my hope up on trying this molasses thing, like i said it didn't work for me. nothing can get rid of fibroids. if there was, the doctors would tell you, and we would't have to have a hysteromecty's. think about it...it's something that grows inside of you..if there was a cure in molasses wouldn't they tell you?? I really don't believe in this stuff. I have tryed it and i can't speak for everyone...but it didn't work for me. Were all here for a little hope and cure, but really it doesn't work.the only thing i did was to cut out coffee, something i found out on my own..as far as im concerned, that helped me alot!! no more heavy periods. now there normal and i have 2 fibroid tumors and they were almost the size of a baseball. i'm not sure if they are gone yet, i still have to go to the doctors to find out, but my period is back to normal. thank you.."
12/30/2008: Melissa from Snellville, GA replies: "no the doctor would not tell you about natural means to treat fibroids because it would keep people out of the doctors office there for interfering with his lively hood which is prescribing medicine and patients going under the knife. natural treatments take time. you have to be patient and give them time to work"
09/28/2009: Lisacstyles from Sunny Isles, Florida replies: "Just taking blackstrap molasses alone will take much longer if you continue to eat foods with added hormones. Fibroids are hormonal imbalances. You must detox your liver and remove all animal from your diet as well as all of the rest.. eating a majority of green leafy foods, remove every hormone and animal product from your diet and remove caffeine as well. then just wait,, it took me a year and my periods are finally at a place that i can actually walk around and work ...what a difference!!!"

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL, B VITAMINS, TURMERIC
[YEA] 11/08/2007: Tanya from Olympia, WA writes: "I have had anemia for over a year and was treating it with iron pills that were not working. My iron went from 31 to 35 and back to 31. I had a ultrasound done and found out I had fibroids. I chose not to have any procedure done and am treating everything naturally. I tried the black strap molasses in coffee and couldn't get it down so I've been eating 1 tablespoon in a bowl of Cream of Wheat every morning with raisins and a tablespoon of flaxseed every morning. All of those foods together provide 78% of your daily iron! I just got my blood checked and I am normal! My iron is 42! That was only after one month of eating the Cream of wheat every day.
Now for my fibroids, I will get those checked in 4 more months, but I feel so much better than i did two months ago. For those I have not drank any alchohol, and stop taking birth control pills. Since Fibroids grow with Estrogen I decided after being on them 20 years it was time to give my body a break anyhow (even though I don't smoke etc) I have also been taking 1250 mg primrose oil, B-100 vitamins and turmeric. I have also been drinking a glass of Apple Cider with a tablespoon of ACV in it every night. I have been following a candida diet which if someone would like to know what it is I can post. So, thank you so much for the advice! I will definately post the results of my future ultrasound and I'm sure the news will be great!"

[SIDE EFFECTS] 11/08/2009: Daisy from Nicosia, Cyprus writes: "Fibroids: I am 52 years old. I am on Zoladex (generic name Goserelin) to help breast cancer and it helped shrink the 6 cm fibroid in my uterus. However, it has flared up again despite the strong medication. I believe it is because I recently started dairy products after abstaining for a year because of press reports about a link with breast cancer. I have also been using natural progesterone cream which in my case is not balancing estrogen as it is zero in my blood analysis BECAUSE THE DRUG lowered it to zero. I suspect the cream may have also fed the benign egg because I have used it together with this drug without specialist advice. It may have fed the fibroid. I tried ACV and it immediately helped."

Then I would use about 2tsp a day and sprinkle them over my salad . I found it easier to eat them that way . I also would make flaxseed bread I would use about a 1/2 cup in my loaf of bread . It is very important to grind the flaxseed up to get the benfit of the seeds. Other wise the seeds will just pass right threw you . I did this for about a year and when I went back and had my ultra sound they were gone . I also had a tumor in my breast . I was benine but that also disappeared as well . I never tryed the BSM because I never heard about it working on tumors until now. I end up have a historectomy because my uterus fell . but I still take it so I don't get any tumors in my breast."

[YEA] 06/08/2008: Karling from Los Angeles, CA replies: "Well, Let me first say, I've had fibroids and ovarian cysts for over 7 years. They have progressively gotten worse and worse as far as heavy clotting periods, PMS, and weight gain. Basically my life revolves around my periods. I don't "do" western medicine so I only go to the doctor to find out what's going on. I'm also a vegetarian. My job is that of performer, so I've had to be meticulous about scheduling shows around my cycle. I'm so excited right now I had to share this immediately. It's early days, I'm only into day 4 of my period, but the change has been incredible. For a whole week before my period I did castor oil packs over where I consider the fibroids are. I rented movies, and spent every evening for about an hour and a half with the pack on my belly, and a heating pad over the area. Also, from the first day of my period I've been taking 2 (100mg) grapeseed extract tablets 3 times a day. They give me a bit of lose stool, but that's the least of my problems after all the bleeding I've endured over the years. Ok the report is: So far my bleeding has been cut in half, if not even more. A few very small clots, as apposed to huge clots. I feel different. I don't feel exhausted, and I'm thinking a miracle has happened to me. I don't know if it's the grape seed or the packs, but I am going to continue this procedure. I'm not sure how often I should do the packs, but I read in this forum that the grapeseed should be done only during your period to keep it's potency on your system. Oh, also something else. I had been taking BSM for over a year, (no decrease in bleeding, but other very good effects) and I read on this forum that House of Herbs had the most iron, so I orderd a whole case of it.. but the label is very sparse, and I think it might be sulfured, and that is not good because it thins the blood, so the only other thing I've changed is that I've cut OUT the sulfured BSM. I will update as I find out more, but right now I'm extremely happy. Day 4 and it's been a walk in the park!!!"

Even super model Beverly Johnson said it took her 4 years for proper diagnosis! Are you weak bladdered? menstrual cycles heavy and long term, with clots in the maxipad-fatigued aneamic? hormonal, libidoless? stressed, constipated? Fibroids push down or up on other organs, causing organs not to function properly. You are tired but don't know why, your family sees you have changed but cannot help, the doctors misdiagnose you. B-Vitamins deficiency, Iodine deficiency can lead to Cystic Breasts (lumpy) and uterine Fibroids. I had scheduled surgery for fibroid for the end of May but will postpone for 3 months at least whilst i try some natural remedies suggested on this site. Wish me luck, i will definitely post my results. thanks so much for this information Di"
09/12/2008: Mary fm Tampa from Tampa, Florida replies: "To Diana fm Tampa: You wrote back in late April 08 about trying ACV and Molasses. Can you please write to me at maitaz@yahoo.com and let me know what size your fibroid was and type? I have been searching for anyone to let me know if they were able to do anything at all to show any signs of shrinkage to a fibroid 10cm or bigger. I too live in Tampa...Please write me as I need some HOPE to hang on too. It has been a year now since I was told I have this fibroid that went from 8 to 11 cm. what is the outcome for you since you been on ACV and Molasses? Thank you so much."

03/08/2010: Ez47.12 from Claymont, De, Usa writes: "I met a woman about 4 months ago. She was having severe vaginal discomfort from itching and had 9cm fibroids. After 3 months of treatment including, bathing in lavender soaps, using olive oil for skin and hair moisturizer, eating royal jelly and using it topically, drinking apple cider vinegar, also using olive leaf extract and lemon balm extract amongst other herbs she was able to receive some relief, but it drove her to eventually get a biopsy, get a prescription for an anti-fungal (diflucan), after further investigation she found out that her tumor had shrank to 5cm and the itching had stopped. Most of the herbs mentioned were taken in the morning and evening, by the products recommended doses. Apple cider vinegar was administered, by adding it to salad dressings, baths and from time to time an oz in water. She also used two bottles of floressence during this time and drank roobis tea and started to increase her intake of fruit and veggies(especially the combo of broccoli and tomato, which has been getting better results on prostate tumors, than rounds of chemo. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6163233/Broccoli-and-tomato-ketchup-could-prevent-prostate-cancer.html
Mostly, i've just encouraged to keep fluids up, and keep up herbs and foods that work on thyroid function(royal jelly, lemon balm, grapefruit and grapefruit seed extract) Keep up with probiotics, whether be pills or greek yogurt, buttermilk, etc. But to keep up light exercise and mostly, pray and belive. Godspeed ladies!"

11/02/2009: Carol from Weston, Fl writes: "Hi all. I have a large uterine fibroid, for which the longest diameter is 9.4cm--in other words the size of a large grapefruit. They symptoms are awful--periods lasting 15 days a month and terrible cramping and blood clotting. I thought surgery was the only answer, because of the size, but did some research, including your site, and decided on the following protocol instead. I will have the fibroid re-measured in 3 months and hopefully it will have shrunk. Here is the protocol I have just started, which I will do daily:
1) Blackstrap Molasses 3TBS per day and ACV 2tsp per day to relieve symptoms and hopefully shrink fibroids. UNSULPHURED BSM!!!!
2) Indole-3-Carbinol to remove excess estrogen
3) Nattokinase to help break down fibrin and break down blood clots
4) Maca--helps to rebalance hormones, generally in favor of progesterone
5) Serrepaptase and digestive enzymes to break down fibroid
6) May add progesterone cream, but have been using the cream for 3 years and it is obviously not working, so not sure if will use that as my progesterone has nor increased on it. Have an oral progesterone (Prometrium) not sure if will take or not. Is supposed to be for people who can't absorb the cream. However, some believe that if fibroid is bigger than a grapefruit, it may not be a good idea to take progesterone, as the fibroid may convert that to estrogen--so again, not sure if will be taking progesterone or not.
7) Diet--Mostly raw, no meat, no dairy, no wheat
8) Exercise--hard to do cause of fatigue but will try
9) Avoidance of xenoestrogens (parabens, plastics, etc)
10) Avoidance of things such as caffeine, MSG, aspartame, etc.
11) Milk thistle to help liver
12) Would like to do some liver flushes but body doesn't seem to handle it well, so not sure.
Well anyway, I just started this protocol. My period is due in about a week so it will be interesting to see at that point if my menstrual symptoms are any better. I will re-update at that time."
01/01/2010: Carol from South, Florida replies: "Hi,Just wanted to update my previous posts. Brief history: I have had a growing fibroid for at least 3 years and in the fall of '09 it got much bigger (9.4 cm) and symptoms of long menstrual cycle and huge blood clots started. Anyway, for the past 2 cycles I have taken unsulphured BSM and my cramps are much, much less. However, length of period and clotting has not improved, bloating during period is tremendous, and I don't have the sense that the fibroid has shrunk at all. I have not been very consistent with the ACV. I tried Nattokinase and Indole 3 Carbinol but they producted severe diarrhea, so I had to stop. I am happy that at leat the BSM helps with cramps and energy so that I can now function during my period. However, as for shrinkage, I don't know what to do. Many of the women who have posted here did not discuss how much their fibroids shrank but emphasized symptom relief instead. I would be most curious to know if anyone had fiboid shrinkage from the BSM and ACV. Thanks"
01/02/2010: Hope from Sacramento, California replies: "I would suggest that you research iodine supplementation for this problem. Many people have had wonderful results with this healing method."
01/02/2010: Celteyes from Pearland, Texas replies: "I had fibroid shrinkage by taking maca maca capsules. I took 2 caps. 2 to 3 times daily. It also made me feel energetic and in a happy mood."
01/29/2010: Carol from South, Florida replies: "Hi this is Carol from South Florida (formerly of Tampa) again with another update....Well the BSM does seem to help very much with the cramps. However I continue to bleed even more every month with even more blood clots then before. My large uterine fibroid last measured at 9.4 cm back in October. On the positive news, I found two surgeons in Florida who have removed fibroids much larger than mine while leaving the uterus intact (not a hysterectomy, you can keep your uterus and keep your reproductive abilities). I have in-office consults with both of them next week. One has taken out ones as large as 17cm and the other has taken ones out as large as 15cm with the laparascopic treatment--and WITHOUT removing the uterus. So anyway, with mixed emotions, this is the direction I am heading. I have tried so many things with the natural approach but I could not find the right thing and with my periods lasting now for 18-20 days of bleeding every month and a huge protruding stomach that looks like a bowling ball, it is just too out of control....Wish me luck and prayer!"

[YEA] 02/10/2009: Tanya from Tumwater, WA writes: "Fibroids and Anemia GONE!
I have wrote on here a couple times and this is my 1 year update. My anemia is gone, my iron has been normal for voer a year now and my periods are light and normal. I was in really bad a shape over 2 yrs ago and although I was only 40 my Dr. wanted me to get a hysterectomy. I refused and did tons of research about fibroids and anemia. This is what I learned:These are the things I did immedietly: Got off the pill, Fibroids are cause by estrogen so I figured why feed it more? I did the BSM in Cream of Wheat with raisins(cream of wheat, raisins and black strap molasses are very high in Iron and you will be feeling better)every morning, Apple Cider Vinegar with apple cider at night and watched what I ate and drank. Caffeine and alcohol effects fibroids and can make bleeding worse. Don't take your iron with calcium or calcium fortiifed OJ.
My routine for the past year has been:
Glass of green juice every morning ( I drink Odawalla), if I drink coffee I order a single shot only, and have only one a day. My vitamins are Garden of Eatin Perefect Food (more green minerals and vitamins) Women's Living Green Liquid-Gel Multi Vitamin, Irwin Naturals, (lots of minerals and vitamins from plants) DIM(helps regulate estrogen), B-100, Evening Primrose Oil, and occasionaly Iron Picolate during my cycles. I've come to the point that if I don't need the iron it will make me nauseated.
I'm telling you this has worked for me! And I tried all kinds of things! I read tons of books, posts, tried this that! But thak God I did not listen to my Dr. and get a hysterectomy! At one point my cycle was so bad I almost passed out! My iron was 24! So don't think maybe her problems weren't that bad! They were bad and I was really scared!
So, I hope this helps someone out there, our bodies are amazing and when they try and tell us something we just gotta listen and rethink the way we do things. Good luck and feel free to write if you have any questions!"

[YEA] 04/23/2008: Carol from Saint Peter, MN-USA writes: "I have huge fibroids, I'm now taking MILK THISTLE, and it seems to be helping my liver detoxify my system.
I've heard that for bleeding you can use CINNAMON. It goes take 1 teaspoon when it occurs, then wait a half and hour (30 min), then if not stopped take more. I have not tried it (luckily, my fibroids do not bleed) but it might help others.
NOTE: Dosage maybe 1 tablespoon but I'm not sure. (the lady I talked with was not too clear.) So to be safe take lower dose.
I've been reading and it said that estrogen was linked with copper. So the more estrogen you have in your system the more copper and the less zinc. the more copper the less the liver can work to detoxify the copper and the estrogen out of system. Too much copper gives you fatigue and like aluminum is support to build up in the brain giving you a sluggish brain.
The girl who was on birth-control pills is probably putting more estrogen in her system than she needs. Also she should stop eating liver or any organ meat as it has a lot of copper in it. I've heard that women need magnesium and zinc to stop the fibroid from growing. BSM has trace elements of zinc and it certainly has a lot of magnesium. The potassoum and calcium cannot hurt either."
11/08/2009: Carol from Weston, Fl replies: "Hi. This is Carol. I posted just recently on 11/02/09 about my situation. To sum up, I have a huge uterine fibroid (9.4 cm in diameter, large grapefruit) and ever increasing terrible premenstrual and menstrual cycles with long periods, blood clotting, cramping, and very sore breasts--all of which make my life very difficult for that time of the month every month..... Well, although it is early in my protocol/changes and I have not done everything I plan to do (only things so far I have done are BSM, ACV, and Maca daily), I want to report the following improvements already: My period in the past years has alway been preceded by very sore/tender/heavy breasts lasting for anywhere from 3-8 days before my period starts. However, this month, my period started today and my breasts are not and have not been the least bit sore/heavy/or tender. They feel perfectly normal. That alone is great. Also, my period started a few hours ago. Usually I would have cramping for several hours before the period started, but this time I just got some very light cramping after the period started....So anyway, I am already starting to see some improvements, which I correlate with the Unsulphured Black Strap Molasses and the Apple Cider--and possibly the Maca (herb to balance hormones)--as those are the only changes I have made so far. Well anyway, I will post again with an update as this hopefully continues to work. My overall plan is to deal with symptom control with BSM and ACV, but to also aid in shrinking the fibroid use enzymes and Nattokinase, while to balance hormones use Indole-3Carbinol and Maca. Thanks for this great site that has given me hope!"
11/09/2009: Carla from Seattle, Usa replies: "Hi Carol - I too have fibroids and cysts, along with the horrible bleeding and cramping. The acv works miracles for heavy bleeding. When I have my period I drink it all day long.
One thing to research - look up "DIM" (it stands for a very long word that I can't type) on the internet...(go to a reseach site, not a site trying to sell you DIM!) DIM is amazing. I have been taking one capsule every night for over 6 months now - and will not go without it again. DIM converts bad estrogens (there are three types) into good estrogens. Too hard for me to explain - but well worth learning about if you have the time to search it!
Best to you - hang in there!"
EC: DIM is an acronym for 3,3'-Diindolylmethane
"3,3'-Diindolylmethane or DIM is an anticarcinogen compound derived from the digestion of indole-3-carbinol, found in Brassica vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower.[citation needed] The reputation of Brassica vegetables as medicinal plants rests in part on the activities of diindolylmethane."
11/22/2009: Carol from Weston, Fl replies: "Hi. This is Carol from Weston. I posted a few weeks ago. In a nutshell, I have a large (grapefruit size) uterine fibroid with heavy prolonged bleeding (lasts about 2 weeks each month), terrible cramps for the first week, and tremendous blood clotting with the periods.... About 3 weeks ago, I started taking BSM, ACV and a variety of enzymes to help shrink the fibroid and reduct these symptoms. I am currently having my monthly period. Last month (before the protocol) I bled for 15 days. This month I am on Day 14 and still bleeding. The level of bleeding and clotting and length of period has not improved so far, as compared to the previous menstrual cycle. The bloating was just as bad as well--even worse maybe. However, on the positive side, my cramps were much lighter, I did not have to take nearly as much pain killers for cramps, and my breasts were not tender this cycle. So anyway, I am going to continue this protocol for another month or two and if I haven't had some more notable symptom improvement, I think I am going to go for the myomectomy or at least another measurement of the fibroid to see if the size has changed."
11/23/2009: Maitai from Tampa, Florida replies: "Dear Carol, can you plz write me at maitaz@yahoo.com

[YEA] 04/02/2008: Kyra Jones from Los Angeles, CA, USA writes: "Hi, everyone
This is what I did, and it really SAVED MY LIFE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD
I checked out natural anti-inflammatories, and this is what I now do.
IT HAS CUT MY BLEEDING IN HALF, I NO LONGER HAVE CLOTS, OR GUSHING BLOOD, AND IT'S ABOUT 2 DAYS SHORTER.
MY HEMOGLOBIN HAS GONE UP ONE POINT IN ONE MONTH
If you are taking medications (ANY MEDICATIONS, INCLUDING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS), please discuss with your doctor any possible interactions with Grape Seed Extract.
Don't take Motrin or Advil, or any other of those types of drugs while taking Grape Seed Extract.
Here is the regimen to do on every day of your period:
These can all be obtained at Whole Foods or the Co-Op or Rainbow Acres or any other natural foods store.
These are ALL natural anti-inflammatories:
1) Grapeseed Extract (a potent natural anti-inflammatory) : Tablets: 90mg grapeseed extract - I took 2 x 90mg tablets three times a day, with meals, which works out to 540mg / day
(the recommended dosage is half that, but this is what worked. If you have concerns about doubling the recommended dosage of grapeseed extract, speak to your doctor or do your own indepth research)
Please make sure to feel okay with the dosage you will take of Grape Seed Extract.'I experienced no side effects and this is what worked miracles for me. But if you are on any other medication, speak to your doctor before taking Grape Seed Extract, because if you are on Coumadin, or other blood thinners it could increase bleeding if you have surgery, etc.
The liver also uses certain enzymes to break down certain drugs and if you take Grape Seed Extract and another medication that use the same liver enzymes to break down, it can result in a higher level of the medication in your blood.
2) Lakewood Organic Pomegranate Juice (one x 1QT bottle every two days, drink throughout the day)
This is mixed so it's not bitter.
I also bought pure pomegranate juice and mixed that with the Lakewood brand, so as to get more pomegranate concentration
3) Organic Ginger Aid Ginger Tea (Traditional Medicinals Herbal Dietary Supplement Brand, Caffeine Free) - 3 or more cups throughout the day.
Don't reuse same teabag, keep ginger concentration high.
4) Turmeric Powder (pure powder) - 1 tablespoon sprinkled over a mouthful (it doesn't taste that great at that concentration, so I just put it over one bite of my meal and ate it quickly) DO THIS AT LUNCH TIME, JUST 1X A DAY
5) one tablespoon olive oil sprinkled over the same part of your meal as the turmeric. Basically you want to get a concentrated bite with turmeric and olive oil. DO THIS AT LUNCH TIME, JUST 1 X A DAY
6) During your period, avoid all refined carbohydrates and sugars, which cause the body's inflammatory response to come into play. Just for those days, stick to as pure a diet as possible
7) Don't take any of the above ingredients (1 to 5) at any other time of the month, to keep their effect on your body optimal when you use them once a month.
8) Here is a link to the iron content in foods, so you can incorporate them naturally into your diet so your body can produce the red blood cells and hemoglobin necessary to regain your natural oxygenation levels and your body regain balance.
Iron is necessary for the body to manufacture hemogolobin. Hemogolobin is what the oxygen molecules attach themselves to, and it is responsible for transporting this oxygen throughout the body and releasing it into the cells.
http://www.bchealthguide.org/healthfiles/hfile68d.stm
And that's it!!
Also, STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL, AS IT DESTROYS RED BLOOD CELLS (See Google)
THE MASSIVE BLEEDING IS CAUSED BY INFLAMMATION, NOT NECESSARILY THE FIBROID ITSELF.
That's why doctors prescribe NSAIDS (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) in such high dosages. But they have incredibly dangerous side effects and are themselves very dangerous.
I cannot tell you what this has done to my life. It is truly a miracle, and I beg you to try this regimen.
It has saved my life, because I truly was in great, great danger and distress. Nobody cared, and also the dangers of 800mg of Motrin 3 x a day are so high, that that in itself was a health risk.
Have you ever read the side effects? They include stroke and death. There is a lawsuit currently about Motrin causing blindness in a young girl.
BASICALLY THE POINT IS TO FLOOD YOUR BODY WITH NATURAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES THROUGHOUT YOUR PERIOD.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO SUFFER ANYMORE. I COULD ACTUALLY START WEARING TAMPONS AGAIN, WHICH WAS JUST A JOKE BEFORE!!!
I just could not believe it. It was an absolute miracle after four years of actually believing I was going to die.
No one can understand how horrible it is to gasp for breath constantly throughout the day, to have a heart rate of 112 as normal, to have heart palpitations and your body screaming out that something had to help it.
to not be able to walk from your bed to your closet without gasping and hanging on the light fixture and having a racing heart and heart palpitations.
Being so tired that ANYTHING was impossible to do, let alone be active and full of energy.
Oxygen starvation is bad and dangerous for the body and NO DOCTORS GIVE A DAMN!!
WHY DID NO DOCTOR TELL ME ABOUT THE ABOVE REGIMEN? What on earth are they doing for their $150,000 education?"
01/09/2010: Carla from Kingston, Jamaica replies: "I was just confirm as having fibroid at age 39, and hoping to have a child. I am praying that that is still possible. What I have found out is that my period discomfort comes based on the diet I have before the cycle begins.I only eat fish for about three years and my breast and period was doing fine. Now I am eating red meat and drinking milk and my breast is tender, my back ache and my belly tender.
I realized that when I drink the beetroot, carrot and ginger, I do quite well and dont have to take any pain killer. I remember 2 doc telling me to do what works well with my body and now I tend to agree and will defineately taking that root.
I just lean about the molasses and apple cider vineager and will be trying these, both where alreading in my kitchen cabinet. I have tried the combination last night......I slept well. A problem I was having.
I am thankful I live on a tropical island, so fresh fruits and vegetable are easily assessible. I am now going back to nature. I have a vegetable garden that I will certainly be using. I will keep you ladies posted on my progress. Let reclaim our health for 2010."
01/09/2010: Annie from Old Greenwich, Ct replies: "Dear Carla,
I think you may be on to something important about red meat! I normally don't have painful breasts but over the holidays but I ate red meat at a friend's house for dinner (I never eat red meat, but it's what they served) and the next morning I woke up with very sore breast and sharp shooting pains near my armpits. Infected lymph nodes? I couldn't figured out what could have triggered it until your post.
Please keep us informed of your progress. I hope the remedies you are trying help you."
