CASTOR OIL PACKS

1 YEA

[YEA]  03/22/2008: DJ from Denver, Colorado writes: "My doctor told me I had fibroids in my uterus. I applied a castor oil pack with a heating pad on the area for an hour a day for one whole week while I napped and they were completely gone at my next check up thirty days later! Amazing! I believe castor oil is a gift from God to us."

09/02/2008: Mary from Tampa, Florida replies: "To DJ from Denver CO: How big was your fibroid may I ask? You said you did the CASTOR pack...and your fibroid went away in a week? Can you please email me at maitaz@yahoo.com I really would appreciate it.
If anyone out there has used the CASTOR pack method or any method to GET RID of your Fibroid, please contact me. Peace, Mary"

05/12/2009: Yasa from Fairfield, CT replies: "HI DJ from Colorado,

Could you tell me how large your fibroids were? I would like to try a natural cure for healing from fibroids. I am wondering if castor oil packs can shrink all sizes of fibroids. I have a few, one is 7.5 cm, and a 4cm cyst on one of my ovaries. One fibroid is calcified.

Thanks so much."

COMMENTARY

09/29/2008: Mya from Los Angeles, USA writes: "I passed out and hit my head on the bed, because I lost so much blood. I went to the hospital in an ambulance. My doctor did a new procedure and a DNC. There was a girl there who was 16 years old who had her fibroids removed, how is this possible? I was so scared, but I came through, by the grace of God. I tried all of it and it didn't work."

I thought I had a heart problem as the symtoms was high blood pressure. I am now well and living with my scars as I also had T/L. So it is healthy living and stress free life for me."

DIETARY CHANGES

1 YEA

[YEA]  05/03/2009: Realities from Oceanside, CA writes: "Black strap molasses:
I had a protuding fibroid the size of a GRAPEFRUIT---that was trying to abort itself through my cervix. Before I almost bled to death I had it surgically cut out. It developed over 6 months and just after I was prescribed birth control pills (hormones)from an obgyn. I stopped the pills after two weeks but the fibroid continued to grow.

i gulped bs molasses from the jar after the surgery. Then i stopped drinking that nasty bsm and eliminated the birth control pills. I changed my diet. No meat, eggs,( which is full of hormones ) no fish, and minimal dairy products and (only if RBST free or goats milk.) LOW FAT, HIGH FIBER is good. I eat kale on my sandwhiches instead of lettuce etc.

I eat sour kraut and drink water water water. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE INCIDENCE SINCE 2003. THATS ABOUT 6 YEARS.

If I slip up on this regimen, I notice it. My next period is clotty, lasts longer, and is more painfull, the tint is red/orange. ---TIME TO get my diet back on track BUCKLE DOWN!

Here is some interesting input: GOOD LUCK LADIES! YOU CAN WIN.

ELIMINATE COFFEE

1 YEA

[YEA]  11/07/2008: Bonnie from Hamilton, Hamilton, Ontario writes: "I have read your site about black strap molasses and "hoping" to get rid of fibroid tumors. I have tryed it and it didn't work for me. I think this site is just a way of getting people's hope up. I had my hope up on trying this molasses thing, like i said it didn't work for me. nothing can get rid of fibroids. if there was, the doctors would tell you, and we would't have to have a hysteromecty's. think about it...it's something that grows inside of you..if there was a cure in molasses wouldn't they tell you?? I really don't believe in this stuff. I have tryed it and i can't speak for everyone...but it didn't work for me. Were all here for a little hope and cure, but really it doesn't work.the only thing i did was to cut out coffee, something i found out on my own..as far as im concerned, that helped me alot!! no more heavy periods. now there normal and i have 2 fibroid tumors and they were almost the size of a baseball. i'm not sure if they are gone yet, i still have to go to the doctors to find out, but my period is back to normal. thank you.."

12/30/2008: Melissa from Snellville, GA replies: "no the doctor would not tell you about natural means to treat fibroids because it would keep people out of the doctors office there for interfering with his lively hood which is prescribing medicine and patients going under the knife. natural treatments take time. you have to be patient and give them time to work"

09/28/2009: Lisacstyles from Sunny Isles, Florida replies: "Just taking blackstrap molasses alone will take much longer if you continue to eat foods with added hormones. Fibroids are hormonal imbalances. You must detox your liver and remove all animal from your diet as well as all of the rest.. eating a majority of green leafy foods, remove every hormone and animal product from your diet and remove caffeine as well. then just wait,, it took me a year and my periods are finally at a place that i can actually walk around and work ...what a difference!!!"

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL, B VITAMINS, TURMERIC

1 YEA

[YEA]  11/08/2007: Tanya from Olympia, WA writes: "I have had anemia for over a year and was treating it with iron pills that were not working. My iron went from 31 to 35 and back to 31. I had a ultrasound done and found out I had fibroids. I chose not to have any procedure done and am treating everything naturally. I tried the black strap molasses in coffee and couldn't get it down so I've been eating 1 tablespoon in a bowl of Cream of Wheat every morning with raisins and a tablespoon of flaxseed every morning. All of those foods together provide 78% of your daily iron! I just got my blood checked and I am normal! My iron is 42! That was only after one month of eating the Cream of wheat every day.

Now for my fibroids, I will get those checked in 4 more months, but I feel so much better than i did two months ago. For those I have not drank any alchohol, and stop taking birth control pills. Since Fibroids grow with Estrogen I decided after being on them 20 years it was time to give my body a break anyhow (even though I don't smoke etc) I have also been taking 1250 mg primrose oil, B-100 vitamins and turmeric. I have also been drinking a glass of Apple Cider with a tablespoon of ACV in it every night. I have been following a candida diet which if someone would like to know what it is I can post. So, thank you so much for the advice! I will definately post the results of my future ultrasound and I'm sure the news will be great!"

FIBROID GROWTH THEORIES

1 SIDE EFFECT

[SIDE EFFECTS]  11/08/2009: Daisy from Nicosia, Cyprus writes: "Fibroids: I am 52 years old. I am on Zoladex (generic name Goserelin) to help breast cancer and it helped shrink the 6 cm fibroid in my uterus. However, it has flared up again despite the strong medication. I believe it is because I recently started dairy products after abstaining for a year because of press reports about a link with breast cancer. I have also been using natural progesterone cream which in my case is not balancing estrogen as it is zero in my blood analysis BECAUSE THE DRUG lowered it to zero. I suspect the cream may have also fed the benign egg because I have used it together with this drug without specialist advice. It may have fed the fibroid. I tried ACV and it immediately helped."

FLAX SEED AND LYSINE

1 YEA

[YEA]  12/10/2008: Pamela from Columbus, Ohio writes: "I have a friend living in toledo, ohio where I stayed only three years ago, my gyn doctor is there who diagnosis me with Fibroids in 1996. I have a case where mine shrinked and one passed based on using a natural remedy my friend gave me. Take Flax seed water soluble capsules and make sure they are the purest form, along with lysine it works. The one that passed was stuck in my opening but the doctor pulled it out and tested it. He found nothing. When I stop taking the products one grew almost an inch. I have since began the regiment again, this time I won't stop till they are gone."

FLAX SEEDS

1 YEA

[YEA]  03/09/2008: Ruth from Ionia, Michigan writes: "my name is ruth,I used flax seed to cure my [fibroid] tumors. I would grind them in my coffee grinder . Then I would use about 2tsp a day and sprinkle them over my salad . I found it easier to eat them that way . I also would make flaxseed bread I would use about a 1/2 cup in my loaf of bread . It is very important to grind the flaxseed up to get the benfit of the seeds. Other wise the seeds will just pass right threw you . I did this for about a year and when I went back and had my ultra sound they were gone . I also had a tumor in my breast . I was benine but that also disappeared as well . I never tryed the BSM because I never heard about it working on tumors until now. I end up have a historectomy because my uterus fell . but I still take it so I don't get any tumors in my breast."

GRAPES, CHERRIES

1 YEA

[YEA]  07/05/2009: Bonnie from Hamilton, Ontario writes: "Fibriods: Hey All, I have tried everything, bsm and all. I read on and found that coffee that has caffeine has alot to do with it, I drank coffee every day, when I read that it wasn't good for you making your estrogen go hay wire, I decided to stop! I try something that I have read on here what someone else wrote, and I swear by it!! I had heavy periods and the whole thing. Believe me!! So I decided to try what that person wrote, and I did, It was grapes & bing Cherries!! It's been over a year and my periods are normal, and no more heavy bleeding and no more blood clots. I swear my this thing. My blood count is up & my red blood cells are ok now. So 3 things to remember: No more coffee and eat grapes & cherries!! And you'll be ok, at least I am. My doctor wanted me to go for a hysteromy, but in the mean time I decide to try the grapes & cherries, no more heavy periods & clots, they are normal now. Maybe it's a conscience, not sure but something helped me, and I eat them every day!! And I'm fine now. :) Hope this helps someone, because I know I was desperate!!!"

07/06/2009: Vina from Powdersprings, Ga replies: "Are you eating regular grapes red, purple or green. And just any type of cherries. How much do you eat a day. Thanks for the info."

07/08/2009: Bonnie from Hamilton, Canada replies: "Vina from GA: I eat any kind of grapes, and snack on about 12 a day."

GRAPESEED EXTRACT

2 YEA

[YEA]  04/23/2008: crystal from any town, United States writes: "I tried grapeseed extract for menstrual flooding associated with fibroids. I took 3 - 90 mg tablets 4 times a day and my menstrual was the closest to normal it's been in years. Also mother tried it for the same problem and was well pleased! I am happy!"

[YEA]  06/08/2008: Karling from Los Angeles, CA replies: "Well, Let me first say, I've had fibroids and ovarian cysts for over 7 years. They have progressively gotten worse and worse as far as heavy clotting periods, PMS, and weight gain. Basically my life revolves around my periods. I don't "do" western medicine so I only go to the doctor to find out what's going on. I'm also a vegetarian. My job is that of performer, so I've had to be meticulous about scheduling shows around my cycle. I'm so excited right now I had to share this immediately. It's early days, I'm only into day 4 of my period, but the change has been incredible. For a whole week before my period I did castor oil packs over where I consider the fibroids are. I rented movies, and spent every evening for about an hour and a half with the pack on my belly, and a heating pad over the area. Also, from the first day of my period I've been taking 2 (100mg) grapeseed extract tablets 3 times a day. They give me a bit of lose stool, but that's the least of my problems after all the bleeding I've endured over the years. Ok the report is: So far my bleeding has been cut in half, if not even more. A few very small clots, as apposed to huge clots. I feel different. I don't feel exhausted, and I'm thinking a miracle has happened to me. I don't know if it's the grape seed or the packs, but I am going to continue this procedure. I'm not sure how often I should do the packs, but I read in this forum that the grapeseed should be done only during your period to keep it's potency on your system. Oh, also something else. I had been taking BSM for over a year, (no decrease in bleeding, but other very good effects) and I read on this forum that House of Herbs had the most iron, so I orderd a whole case of it.. but the label is very sparse, and I think it might be sulfured, and that is not good because it thins the blood, so the only other thing I've changed is that I've cut OUT the sulfured BSM. I will update as I find out more, but right now I'm extremely happy. Day 4 and it's been a walk in the park!!!"

IODINE

1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  07/20/2009: ThegirlHedumped from Okinawa, Hawaii writes: "Iodine is working with enzymes to shrink my uterine fibroids. You poor thing you don't know if you have uterine fibroids, is your gut getting fat, but not necessarily the rest of you? Did anyone ask you if you were pregnant? there should did me, my man upset with me because of this drastic change said, "everyday's a vacation for you lying around" At that time we didn't know I was suffering from fibroids. Even super model Beverly Johnson said it took her 4 years for proper diagnosis! Are you weak bladdered? menstrual cycles heavy and long term, with clots in the maxipad-fatigued aneamic? hormonal, libidoless? stressed, constipated? Fibroids push down or up on other organs, causing organs not to function properly. You are tired but don't know why, your family sees you have changed but cannot help, the doctors misdiagnose you. B-Vitamins deficiency, Iodine deficiency can lead to Cystic Breasts (lumpy) and uterine Fibroids. This is probably the 4th year of my battle, and having just learned in late June/July of 2009 I feel alive again. My boyfriend dumped me because he suffered too long with bad diagnosises and lack of closeness-He doesn't care anymore-So last week he dumped me, but now that I'm new, it's like being reborn and knowing it's only going to get better and stronger! What boyfriend? suck it Ryan! Here I come world. Iodine terminates that crap in your body and regulates your heart, makes your breasts soft and supple and smooth. What a miracle cure. Why is it the things from our creator: God are often forgotten, in lieu or man made, manufactured, genetically enhanced poison?"

07/22/2009: Robin from Macomb, MI replies: "What kind of iodine do u use?"

07/22/2009: Annie from Marietta, Ga replies: "What type of Iodine are you taking? Is there anything elese other than Iodine and B-vitamins. If this is working this is great."

MOLASSES AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Wish me luck, i will definitely post my results. thanks so much for this information Di"

09/12/2008: Mary fm Tampa from Tampa, Florida replies: "To Diana fm Tampa: You wrote back in late April 08 about trying ACV and Molasses. MULTIPLE REMEDIES

3 YEA

11/02/2009: Carol from Weston, Fl writes: "Hi all. I have a large uterine fibroid, for which the longest diameter is 9.4cm--in other words the size of a large grapefruit. They symptoms are awful--periods lasting 15 days a month and terrible cramping and blood clotting. I thought surgery was the only answer, because of the size, but did some research, including your site, and decided on the following protocol instead. I will have the fibroid re-measured in 3 months and hopefully it will have shrunk. Here is the protocol I have just started, which I will do daily:

1) Blackstrap Molasses 3TBS per day and ACV 2tsp per day to relieve symptoms and hopefully shrink fibroids. UNSULPHURED BSM!!!!

2) Indole-3-Carbinol to remove excess estrogen

3) Nattokinase to help break down fibrin and break down blood clots

4) Maca--helps to rebalance hormones, generally in favor of progesterone

5) Serrepaptase and digestive enzymes to break down fibroid

6) May add progesterone cream, but have been using the cream for 3 years and it is obviously not working, so not sure if will use that as my progesterone has nor increased on it. Have an oral progesterone (Prometrium) not sure if will take or not. Is supposed to be for people who can't absorb the cream. However, some believe that if fibroid is bigger than a grapefruit, it may not be a good idea to take progesterone, as the fibroid may convert that to estrogen--so again, not sure if will be taking progesterone or not.

7) Diet--Mostly raw, no meat, no dairy, no wheat

8) Exercise--hard to do cause of fatigue but will try

9) Avoidance of xenoestrogens (parabens, plastics, etc)

10) Avoidance of things such as caffeine, MSG, aspartame, etc.

11) Milk thistle to help liver

12) Would like to do some liver flushes but body doesn't seem to handle it well, so not sure.

Well anyway, I just started this protocol. My period is due in about a week so it will be interesting to see at that point if my menstrual symptoms are any better. I will re-update at that time."

[YEA]  02/10/2009: Tanya from Tumwater, WA writes: "Fibroids and Anemia GONE!

I have wrote on here a couple times and this is my 1 year update. My anemia is gone, my iron has been normal for voer a year now and my periods are light and normal. I was in really bad a shape over 2 yrs ago and although I was only 40 my Dr. wanted me to get a hysterectomy. I refused and did tons of research about fibroids and anemia. This is what I learned:These are the things I did immedietly: Got off the pill, Fibroids are cause by estrogen so I figured why feed it more? I did the BSM in Cream of Wheat with raisins(cream of wheat, raisins and black strap molasses are very high in Iron and you will be feeling better)every morning, Apple Cider Vinegar with apple cider at night and watched what I ate and drank. Caffeine and alcohol effects fibroids and can make bleeding worse. Don't take your iron with calcium or calcium fortiifed OJ.

My routine for the past year has been:
Glass of green juice every morning ( I drink Odawalla), if I drink coffee I order a single shot only, and have only one a day. My vitamins are Garden of Eatin Perefect Food (more green minerals and vitamins) Women's Living Green Liquid-Gel Multi Vitamin, Irwin Naturals, (lots of minerals and vitamins from plants) DIM(helps regulate estrogen), B-100, Evening Primrose Oil, and occasionaly Iron Picolate during my cycles. I've come to the point that if I don't need the iron it will make me nauseated.

I'm telling you this has worked for me! And I tried all kinds of things! I read tons of books, posts, tried this that! But thak God I did not listen to my Dr. and get a hysterectomy! At one point my cycle was so bad I almost passed out! My iron was 24! So don't think maybe her problems weren't that bad! They were bad and I was really scared!

So, I hope this helps someone out there, our bodies are amazing and when they try and tell us something we just gotta listen and rethink the way we do things. Good luck and feel free to write if you have any questions!"

[YEA]  04/23/2008: Carol from Saint Peter, MN-USA writes: "I have huge fibroids, I'm now taking MILK THISTLE, and it seems to be helping my liver detoxify my system.

I've heard that for bleeding you can use CINNAMON. It goes take 1 teaspoon when it occurs, then wait a half and hour (30 min), then if not stopped take more. I have not tried it (luckily, my fibroids do not bleed) but it might help others.

NOTE: Dosage maybe 1 tablespoon but I'm not sure. (the lady I talked with was not too clear.) So to be safe take lower dose.

I've been reading and it said that estrogen was linked with copper. So the more estrogen you have in your system the more copper and the less zinc. the more copper the less the liver can work to detoxify the copper and the estrogen out of system. Too much copper gives you fatigue and like aluminum is support to build up in the brain giving you a sluggish brain.

The girl who was on birth-control pills is probably putting more estrogen in her system than she needs. Also she should stop eating liver or any organ meat as it has a lot of copper in it. I've heard that women need magnesium and zinc to stop the fibroid from growing. BSM has trace elements of zinc and it certainly has a lot of magnesium. The potassoum and calcium cannot hurt either."

11/08/2009: Carol from Weston, Fl replies: "Hi. This is Carol. I posted just recently on 11/02/09 about my situation. To sum up, I have a huge uterine fibroid (9.4 cm in diameter, large grapefruit) and ever increasing terrible premenstrual and menstrual cycles with long periods, blood clotting, cramping, and very sore breasts--all of which make my life very difficult for that time of the month every month..... Well, although it is early in my protocol/changes and I have not done everything I plan to do (only things so far I have done are BSM, ACV, and Maca daily), I want to report the following improvements already: My period in the past years has alway been preceded by very sore/tender/heavy breasts lasting for anywhere from 3-8 days before my period starts. However, this month, my period started today and my breasts are not and have not been the least bit sore/heavy/or tender. They feel perfectly normal. That alone is great. Also, my period started a few hours ago. Usually I would have cramping for several hours before the period started, but this time I just got some very light cramping after the period started....So anyway, I am already starting to see some improvements, which I correlate with the Unsulphured Black Strap Molasses and the Apple Cider--and possibly the Maca (herb to balance hormones)--as those are the only changes I have made so far. Well anyway, I will post again with an update as this hopefully continues to work. My overall plan is to deal with symptom control with BSM and ACV, but to also aid in shrinking the fibroid use enzymes and Nattokinase, while to balance hormones use Indole-3Carbinol and Maca. Thanks for this great site that has given me hope!"

11/09/2009: Carla from Seattle, Usa replies: "Hi Carol - I too have fibroids and cysts, along with the horrible bleeding and cramping. The acv works miracles for heavy bleeding. When I have my period I drink it all day long.

One thing to research - look up "DIM" (it stands for a very long word that I can't type) on the internet...(go to a reseach site, not a site trying to sell you DIM!) DIM is amazing. I have been taking one capsule every night for over 6 months now - and will not go without it again. DIM converts bad estrogens (there are three types) into good estrogens. Too hard for me to explain - but well worth learning about if you have the time to search it!

Best to you - hang in there!"

EC: DIM is an acronym for 3,3'-Diindolylmethane

"3,3'-Diindolylmethane or DIM is an anticarcinogen compound derived from the digestion of indole-3-carbinol, found in Brassica vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower.[citation needed] The reputation of Brassica vegetables as medicinal plants rests in part on the activities of diindolylmethane."

These can all be obtained at Whole Foods or the Co-Op or Rainbow Acres or any other natural foods store.

These are ALL natural anti-inflammatories:

1) Grapeseed Extract (a potent natural anti-inflammatory) : Tablets: 90mg grapeseed extract - I took 2 x 90mg tablets three times a day, with meals, which works out to 540mg / day
(the recommended dosage is half that, but this is what worked. If you have concerns about doubling the recommended dosage of grapeseed extract, speak to your doctor or do your own indepth research)
Please make sure to feel okay with the dosage you will take of Grape Seed Extract.'I experienced no side effects and this is what worked miracles for me. But if you are on any other medication, speak to your doctor before taking Grape Seed Extract, because if you are on Coumadin, or other blood thinners it could increase bleeding if you have surgery, etc.
The liver also uses certain enzymes to break down certain drugs and if you take Grape Seed Extract and another medication that use the same liver enzymes to break down, it can result in a higher level of the medication in your blood.

2) Lakewood Organic Pomegranate Juice (one x 1QT bottle every two days, drink throughout the day)
This is mixed so it's not bitter.
I also bought pure pomegranate juice and mixed that with the Lakewood brand, so as to get more pomegranate concentration

3) Organic Ginger Aid Ginger Tea (Traditional Medicinals Herbal Dietary Supplement Brand, Caffeine Free) - 3 or more cups throughout the day.
Don't reuse same teabag, keep ginger concentration high.

4) Turmeric Powder (pure powder) - 1 tablespoon sprinkled over a mouthful (it doesn't taste that great at that concentration, so I just put it over one bite of my meal and ate it quickly) DO THIS AT LUNCH TIME, JUST 1X A DAY

5) one tablespoon olive oil sprinkled over the same part of your meal as the turmeric. Basically you want to get a concentrated bite with turmeric and olive oil. DO THIS AT LUNCH TIME, JUST 1 X A DAY

6) During your period, avoid all refined carbohydrates and sugars, which cause the body's inflammatory response to come into play. Just for those days, stick to as pure a diet as possible

7) Don't take any of the above ingredients (1 to 5) at any other time of the month, to keep their effect on your body optimal when you use them once a month.

8) Here is a link to the iron content in foods, so you can incorporate them naturally into your diet so your body can produce the red blood cells and hemoglobin necessary to regain your natural oxygenation levels and your body regain balance.
Iron is necessary for the body to manufacture hemogolobin. Hemogolobin is what the oxygen molecules attach themselves to, and it is responsible for transporting this oxygen throughout the body and releasing it into the cells.

http://www.bchealthguide.org/healthfiles/hfile68d.stm

And that's it!!

Also, STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL, AS IT DESTROYS RED BLOOD CELLS (See Google)

THE MASSIVE BLEEDING IS CAUSED BY INFLAMMATION, NOT NECESSARILY THE FIBROID ITSELF.
That's why doctors prescribe NSAIDS (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) in such high dosages. But they have incredibly dangerous side effects and are themselves very dangerous.

I cannot tell you what this has done to my life. It is truly a miracle, and I beg you to try this regimen.
It has saved my life, because I truly was in great, great danger and distress. Nobody cared, and also the dangers of 800mg of Motrin 3 x a day are so high, that that in itself was a health risk.
Have you ever read the side effects? They include stroke and death. There is a lawsuit currently about Motrin causing blindness in a young girl.

BASICALLY THE POINT IS TO FLOOD YOUR BODY WITH NATURAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES THROUGHOUT YOUR PERIOD.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO SUFFER ANYMORE. I COULD ACTUALLY START WEARING TAMPONS AGAIN, WHICH WAS JUST A JOKE BEFORE!!!

I just could not believe it. It was an absolute miracle after four years of actually believing I was going to die.
No one can understand how horrible it is to gasp for breath constantly throughout the day, to have a heart rate of 112 as normal, to have heart palpitations and your body screaming out that something had to help it.
to not be able to walk from your bed to your closet without gasping and hanging on the light fixture and having a racing heart and heart palpitations.
Being so tired that ANYTHING was impossible to do, let alone be active and full of energy.
Oxygen starvation is bad and dangerous for the body and NO DOCTORS GIVE A DAMN!!

WHY DID NO DOCTOR TELL ME ABOUT THE ABOVE REGIMEN? What on earth are they doing for their $150,000 education?"

NUTRITION AND HERBS

1 YEA

[YEA]  09/02/2007: Abs from Santa Maria, California writes: "I have been reading about how people are using Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and Black Strap Molasses (BSM) to shrink fibroid tumors. I used low fat vegan and raw diet and I am fibroids free. Nutrition does wonders for the body and helps its ability to heal. I started out with a vegetarian and organic lifestyle after getting fed up with allopathic medicine's appproach to the fibroids I had. I progressed to a vegan and organic nutrition and I transitioned to a raw, vegan nutrition and the fibroids are all gone. I also used herbs and spices such as Vitex (chasteberry), red raspberry leaves, astragalus, garlic, ginger, turmeric, dandelion leaves and roots, milk thistle, cramp bark, fenugreek, red clover, and squaw vine in my regimen.

Within the first week of eating a wholly plant-based diet, all my symptoms were gone. I gained a surge in energy and three months later, overcame chronic anemia that had persisted for three years. The tumors started to shrink and my hormones started to balance; I was no longer irritable. I have since been cured of mood swings, PMS, breast tenderness and fibroids. I also had a tumor on my liver that disappeared as well and I lost 38 pounds without any extra effort. I now have energy for brisk walks, bike rides, weights, yoga and pilates. I am now a firm believer in nutrition and herbs as remedies for all kinds of ailments. There are a lot of research about the effectiveness of nutrition and herbs in curing all kinds of ailments. I shocked the doctors who wanted to surgically remove the fibroids and who told me there was no cure. I am tumor free and I thank all the people who share their experiences on the web and I also thank medical doctors who are using nutrition to help their patients. It is true that we are what we eat."

09/12/2008: Mary fm Tampa from Tampa, Florida replies: "Can you share with me to my email at maitaz@yahoo.com on how large your fibroids were. I keep hearing that the BIGGER fibroids can't be healed naturally and it should just get cut out. I have been hiding and giving my doctor all kinds of excuses for the past year now and we finally set a surgery date 10/20. So please give me so hope and tell me if you know what was the largest size of your fibroid and honest to goodness did it go away?
I want to compare to my fibroid and hear anyone having a big fibroid but I need a size to really know that it is possible for me. Write me soon, please. I am so Scared and just don't want to get cut up. Anyone reading this can email me if they have proof it can be done for fibroid over 10cm big. Peace."

09/24/2009: Aries36 from Knoxville, Tn writes: "Hi ladies, i'm thankful for you all and hearing your stories let me feel connected to a sista hood of women whom i've never met who is experiencing the same as i am so now i don't feel so all alone with this dreadful medical problem!I just want my life back and this is taking my body over daily. It makes me not even want to have a sexual relationship with my husband cause i feel like a good-year blimp! I take the avc with the (Mother) in it and the bsm and i do get relief from both. The avc does help control your weight but my question to you ladies is:

How long must we stay on these short term remedy? 4EVER... EVERYDAY TAKING THESE SHORT TERM REMEDIES THE WILL NEVER GIVE US A COMPLETE SOLUTION?? I hate the fact that when we give birth 2 bring beautiful kids into the world after that our bodies go through SOOOOOOOO... MUCH AND MEN HAVE NO ISSUES AT ALL!!

I'm just 36 and i feel like my life is OVER dealing with this crap. Doctor's always want to cut on us so we can go into menopause early and have to go to them for more medical issues and bills.. this is how they make their money. Anyway, to the point @ hand. I did find out that having the partial hysterectomy will allow them not to return because by having it done they want grow back because the uterus wall allows them to reattach to something, by removing it..there's nothing 4 them to grow on because there's nothing there. I still don't know what to do even with that info because i'm scared of early menopause. Someone please give me your input."

EC: You don't mention your ailment, but we think you are referring to fibroids...

09/24/2009: Kathy from Dubois, Pa replies: "I had fibroids, too, if that is what your problem is. If they are not causing you too much of a problem...in other words, if they are more of a nuisance than an actual health problem...the best solution is to just wait them out, because they shrink and go away on their own after menopause. At 36, you are not too young to be having peri-menopausal signs and symptoms. To cut down on the bleeding, try taking bioflavanoids and Vitamin K-2. And if they are not life-threatening, DO NOT let the doctor cut on you. Peri-menopause is a time when women start to get anovulatory cycles and become estrogen dominant, so do not take any supplements or eat anything that contains phytoestrogens because it will only make the problem worse by adding to your over-all estrogen burden. You also might want to check your thyroid status, because low thyroid can cause heavy bleeding, too."

REIKI

1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  06/06/2009: Autumn from CA, USA writes: "Since we are going there...I just as well post what was TREMENDOUS in helping my fibroid symptoms, as well as keeping it from growing. I have a fibroid that is the size of a 4 month pregancy. It use to be the size of a 6 month pregnancy. I used REIKI. Reiki is a form of vibrational energy healing (research it on the net).

Reiki stopped the symptoms of, excessive bleeding, clots, nausea and pain. It stopped my fibroid from growing. Reiki did not remove the fibroid, but stopped the growth and all the symptoms. The fibroid shrank a little. The fibroid went from a 6 month pregnancy to a 4 month pregnancy.

When I told my doctor that I was going to get rid of the tumors using "natural medicine" and the New Age, he respected my decision, and just asked if he could monitor the situation. Of course I agreed to this monitoring. My doctor is impressed with the lack of symptoms, especially since the fibroid was so large in the beginning, and he admitted he is impressed by the lack of symptoms. It has been 4 years, and I have not been able to find anything yet that will finish the job of shrinking it completely. But I will definitely try the remedies recommended on this website."

06/07/2009: Jennifer from Mount Vernon, WA replies: "Hi- could you tell us how long it took to shrink it?and how often you did REIKI? Thanks"

STOP THE MICROWAVE

1 YEA

[YEA]  02/22/2009: Karol from Portland, OR writes: "for fibroids -stop all microwaved meals or foods. This works and works fast. I did this about 10 years ago and did not have to have surgery. Recently, last year, I got rid of the microwave altogether. I have not missed it at all. Heating up foods does not take that long. Please stop with the micro wave. Thanks"

SUPPLEMENTS

1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  05/21/2009: Louise from Blue Bell, Pa. U.S.A. writes: "I was diagnosed with too many fibroids outside my uterous to count and measure them all individually. They ranged from 4 to 15 cm. The resulting complications were infertility, very heavy bleeding with clotting, and as the fibroids grew - a huge bloating with general abdominal discomfort. I had had enough of doctor`s being too quick to prescribe the pill or progesterone. This may have helped the bleeding for a while, but it made the fibroids worse because fibroids and polyps are fueld by estrogen. So I did a ton of research and found food based nutrients that shrink fibroids and actually dissolve the tissue that these squatters are made of. My formula which I`ve been using for almost a year now is rutin (and anti-inflammatory and one of the bioflavanoids), lycopene (a powerful anti oxidant and clot reducer), 3 different enzymes that have to be taken an hour after food, nattokinase (what an anti clot enzyme this stuff is!), and serrapeptase. I put all my research into an interactive forum like this one which explains why and how this all works. Many women have contacted the site with their own stories. This physical imbalance seems to be epidemic. On my site http://www.fibroidfighters.com there is a post "Say goodbye to uterine fibroids" that lays it all out for women tolerating this condition. My best wishes and success to anyone trying to take the proactive approach to restoring hormonal balance and harmony."

TANYA'S FIBROID REMEDIES

1 YEA

[YEA]  07/26/2008: Tanya from Olympia, WA writes: "I have wrote several times and have was diagnosed with anemia and fibroids last September. I have tried everything from black strap molasses, to Apple cider vinegar and those remedies have helped. I got an ultrasound in June and my fibroid is still there, it hasn't gotten any bigger though! My anemia is gone, it has been for about 6 months! My Naturopath was amazed that I have kept my iron up for so long. Ok, so this is what I have been doing everyday now for the last 3 months and it has made a huge dfference: I drink Odowalla Superfood green juice every morning. I had read spirulina is good for fibroids and was taking supplements, I believe that works also if you don't like Odawalla. I take Garden of Life Perfect Food Super Green Vitamins, Irwin naturals living green liquid gel womens multivitamin, a B-100, Evening Primrose, and DIM. I read that DIM helps balance Estrogen and since I have been taken it I have noticed a big difference in my cycles being lighter. I was taking vitex (chasteberry). I take iron picolate if my cycles are heavy but they haven't been.

This routine has been so wonderful, my cycles have been light 3 days, and they have been 21-28 says apart. They were 15-17 days and horrible. My anemia was so bad my iron was 29, now it is 42! I got all the supplements at super supplements. The iron picolate I got from my naturopath.

So if you have anemia and fibroids give this a try, also cream of wheat blackstrap molasses and raisins helped when my iron was really low.
I also have gotten off the pill (everything I read says estogen makes fibroids grow) and watch my caffeine and alchohol intake. Good luck ladies! Your body can heal itself, my Dr. suggested a hysterectomy last year, I'm only 40 years old! Thank goodness I didn't listen. I feel great!"

TURMERIC

1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  11/20/2009: Rapha7 from Mytown, Usa writes: "Fibroid Tumor Remedy - Tumeric

I found out about 4 or 5 years ago that I have fibroids when having an ultrasound for something else, and over the course of that time my periods have gotten heavier, started having clots and experiencing cramps which I rarely ever got. During the heavy times I would go through a Ultra Plus tampon in 1 hour.

I don't remember if it was on EC or another site, but I read that the heavy bleeding was caused by inflammation (either the Uterus being inflammed or the fibroids)during periods and it mentioned taking Tumeric.

Someone on EC recommended Natto, and I tried that for a while, but didn't notice reduced bleeding. Then I added a sprinkling of Turmeric on the Natto. The bleeding was reduced some, but I thought it was the Natto. I ran out of Tumeric & continued with the Natto and since I didn't seem to be getting great results, and the Natto is 'Natso good' I stopped.

It wasn't until I read the article about inflammation & Tumeric, that I put 2 and 2 together & realized that what had reduced the bleeding when I was eating the Natto with Tumeric sprinkled on it was actually the Tumeric doing it's thing. To be sure, over the last couple of months I've been taking 1 large teaspoon of Tumeric in juice, at least twice a day when my period starts, & it's nothing short of a miracle. Now I can actually get 3 - 4 hours of solid sleep without having to worry about an accident. Before on heavy nights, I would sit up, so I wouldn't fall all the way to sleep, so I could get up every hour or hour and a half to change. During that time if I could get a solid 2 hours of sleep I was estatic.

Other remedies I tried was the Unsulphered Black Strap Molasses. It reduced the clots by around 90% and the iron definitely gave me an extra boost, as the heavy bleeding caused me to be anemic, but it did not reduce the bleeding.

I hope some of you ladies try this and get the results I have. Although it's not a cure, it helps make the fibroid situation bearable. Lastly, the Tumeric is bitter, but well worth the results."
