"Erythema nodosum (EN) (red nodules) is an inflammation of the fat cells under the skin (panniculitis). It causes tender nodules that are usually seen on both shins. EN is an immunologic response to a variety of different causes."

Erythema nodosum usually resolves itself 3-6 weeks after an event, either internal or external to the body, that initiates a hypersensitivity reaction in subcutaneous fat. EN is frequently associated with fever, malaise, and joint pain and inflammation. It presents as tender red nodules on the shins that are smooth and shiny. The nodules may occur anywhere there is fat under the skin, including the thighs, arms, trunk, face, and neck. The nodules are 1-10 cm in diameter, and individual nodules may coalesce to form large areas of hardened skin..."

REMEDIES NEEDED

05/13/2010: Bella from Louisville, Ky, Usa: "Ted,

By using Earthclinic for the last 3 years I am confident that you are the only one who will be able to come up with some kind of solution for me. I have a few questions to you.

1. Back in Mach I developed a few bumps on my legs that later became as hard as a stone. One bump on one leg and a few on another that actually grew and all became like huge one bump. I looked up on line and found the information about Erythema Nodosum. Pictures on line look like these are my legs, and the symptoms listed are my symptoms. My legs then started to swell (this is also one of symptoms listed on line). Also, the information I read says that 50% -the cause unknown, 49%- due to the infection: cold, strep, fungal infection, etc. I did have a very bad cold and sour throat and these bumps appeared in one week after the cold. Now it seems like they get better but started to itch.
I did a few things: I took hydrogen peroxide for 15 days (35% food grade, started from 1 drop in on cup for filtered water three times a day, increased to 10 drops). Then I took lemon juice (squeezing the whole lemon(with zest): 1st day-1 cup; 2nd day-2 cups and so on until 5th day- 5 cups, and them 5 cups for four day, then 4, 3,2,1 cup. Now I am on your alkalizing formula: ½ tsp soda in 2 tbsp lemon juice in ½ cup of H2O- two times a day : morning and evening. I paint my legs in the disease area with iodine. I ordered potassium iodide (as there is a suggestion that in 70% it goes away after administering potassium iodide).

Other than my legs I feel fine, no issues. But I don't know what else to do as at the evening my legs swell and it makes me difficult to walk. I cannot stand for a long time (thankfully my job does not require me to do so). I get so discourage that my body does not want to heal.

2. Also, I was having a hard time to find potassium iodide. I finally ended up with Sea-Adine by Heritage Product after reading your comments that with seaweed it is difficult to overdose iodine. Also, I purchased Potassium Iodide by Now food. How good these products are I have no idea. Seems like these don't have any preservatives, like others. Wanted to see if you give your suggestion for Iodine source.

3. Last one, I wanted to see if you have any solution on how to dissolve a fatty tumor (lipoma). I developed lipoma 11 years ago after arriving into the USA and making bad food choices ( due to not knowing the food industry in US). It does not grow much but it did grow from a size of 1 cm to a size of 3.5-4 cm for 11 years.

Thank you so much in advance!! I know you probably have more serious issues that people need your advice with. So if you have time to reply I will greatly appreciate it!"
