[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 08/25/2009: Lauren from Davis, California writes: "okay, i have eczema and it has not gone away completely. however, i recommend drinking kombucha, kefir, or coconut kefir. I know it sounds strange, but I've read several places on the internet where it says that eczema and other problems may be caused by a yeast infection! look it up! also, raw milk products, including raw butter are said to help! i know there is a supposed risk, but when milk is pasteurized, it actually becomes harder to digest, which may be why so many people are lactose intolerant. raw butter is supposed to be really good for you!"

MANGOSTEEN SKIN POULTICE

[YEA] 06/17/2011: Mikorangester from Kl, Wp, Malaysia writes: "Eczema, psoriasis and other some other skin diseases are caused by viral infections of the skin. The cure for this is specific attrition of the infected cells. My blog at http://eczemafix.blogspot.com is a blog of my research and cure for my children. In summary, the best cures I have found is mangosteen skin poultice and 4 days at a beach whenever a flare up occurs. The user will find that their infection will reduce exponentially.
That being the case however, some of the infected cells will remain dormant. One has to maintain a level of vigilance for a number of years to be absolutely sure that the skin is cleaned off this infection. The symptoms of this is decreasing patches of infection.
There is no magic bullet. Only specific attrition of infection and infectious cells. If one catches an infection early enough than the cure is straightforward and simple. It is when one has been infected for some time that the cure takes longer (as one would expect)."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 08/15/2011: Dilesh from New Malden, England, Uk writes: "Hi,
This is my first ever post about my eczema. I have been suffering since 9 and am now 31 years old. Ive seen every kind of doctor, a psychiatrist, chinese herbalist, ayurvedic and a portugese specialist, to no avail. I guess I gave up. Over the last 3 years I have been fighting a real battle, at times wishing I was not alive. However, I have learned there is fundamentally something wrong inside, I tried giving up the steroid creams and using oils like Neem, Tea Tree, Borage, Vit. E and others but, was continually shedding dead skin, and what I thought was meant to happen using oils, only dried my skin out even more and had to deal with waking up in a sea of skin every morning.
Around 3 months ago I stumbled upon Apple Cider Vinegar, and started taking baths, immediately my skin was closing up the wounds and I was on my way, however, it still didnt stop the itching. Great after scratching but, the eczema was not clearing up.
Next step, my diet, now I try to eat only Fresh & Natural, nothing out of a tin, no fruit juices, etc I have learned that Seb Derm on face is caused by fungal and found that mixing ACV and soda bicarb with water and spraying it on then showering gets rid of the fungus
The worst thing about my condition is when my face got all white from skin cells flaking off and dry scales appearing on my face and nothing would take it away. I can only dread what people would think when they saw me.
For the past 2 months I have gone on a very strict diet, of eating fruits in the morning and throughout the day, eating dates, nuts. I do eat canned tuna or sardines as I need the protein for the gym, though have been told to stop this also.
In the morning I drink Aloe Vera and Amla juice mixed with water and before bed.
Also taking Guduchi pills twice a day, however, I researched further and found that taking Vitamin B can help, B3, B5, B6, Biotin, Acidophilus and vitamin D. The main issue with B6 is that it makes me itchy for 20 minutes, though, it is definitely doing something and found that taking the B vitamins allows me to sleep without scratching.
Apart from my skin geting aggravated, it has started to heal. My skin colour, (brown, Im inidan) is coming back. It used to be a mixture of brown, grey from all the steroids and exposure to sunlight.
My only concern now is where I had Seb Derm on my face, which I'm controling by spraying a mixture of ACV and Soda Bicarb. has cleared but have got open open wounds that itch. Im trying to find a way to close them up, and think Zinc may help. Would love to hear what anyone thinks...
Wish everyone keeps strong and its so easy to give up... But, you can control your eczema and by building up your immune system your eczema can remain at bay... Im still fighting and I wont give up.... God Bless you all....
If theres anyone that wants to discuss further, contact me please on dvyas99(at)hotmail.com"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 05/21/2010: Anna from Oslo, Norway writes: "First I would like to thank the creators of this site and its subscribers. Although not all of the suggested remedies helped me, just finding this site helped me to feel less alone and to decide that a natural remedy was definitely the way I wanted to go. The things I tried that didn't work also led me on to something that did, and without having other people's suggestions to work from, this may never have happened. I developed perioral dermatitis for the first time in my life about 7 months ago. I suspect it may have started because I used steroid cream to treat some facial eczema, however, factors such as moving to a cold, dry climate, lots of stress, and experimenting with different types of face care products probably took their toll as well. Having suffered physically and emotionally for very many years with acne, I was devastated to now have this happen to my face. It took nearly 3 months before I worked out that I had POD and in that time I had taken the usual route of using more steroid cream, only to have the condition return worse than before. To this day my doctor insists that the steroid cream is the best cure, just that I didn't use it for long enough!! Having now done my research, though, I made the decision not to use steroid cream ever again on my face, and also that I would much rather find a natural cure than take antibiotics for several months. Here are the tings I have tried:
1. Got rid of all my old skin care products (even though the ones I was using were organic and for sensitive skin) and found a cleanser and moisturizer designed especially for very reactive skin. At first though, I used only warm water to wash my face.
2. Swapped to fluoride-free toothpaste. I don't know if this made a difference but I still use it because of all the other nasty effects of fluoride I read about along the way.
3. Started taking probiotics. Again, I'm not convinced they helped much with the POD, but I don't think they hurt either and I do believe that part of my problem was related to yeast imbalance.
4. Dabbed apple cider vinegar mixed with warm green tea - about 1 part tea to 2 parts vinegar - twice a day. I did this for 3 weeks. I'm afraid this was not the miracle cure in my case. I think it may have kept the 'rash' contained, but it did not remove it and in the end it was irritating my skin too much. I felt my skin needed and deserved something more gentle.
5. Nappy/diaper cream. They don't sell the Balmex cream in Norway, but I bought another one that contained zinc oxide and calendula cream. This was extremely soothing and settled the irritation. My skin liked it and I saw some improvement. I applied it to the affected areas twice a day, although had to go without on work days where I needed to be around people as it's not a flattering look. In the end, however, I felt that the nappy cream was soothing the problem but not getting rid of the source.
6. I learned from my research on the internet of the theory that POD is fungal in origin. So I had the idea to try an anti-fungal type of agent, but I wanted one that was organic and going to be kind to my skin. I found an Australian company (kind of nice since that is where I am from) that makes an organic anti-fungal/anti-bacterial cream - phytoseptic cream they call it - and decided to try it. I ordered it over the internet and had it sent to me in Norway. Finally I can report that I am currently POD free and have been for several weeks. I applied the cream morning and night - it's green in colour so I applied a thinner layer in the mornings before work - and noticed change within a few days. The cream is very soothing and felt good on my skin. At first I noticed that, though the red bumps were disappearing from where they had been worst originally, I was getting new outbreaks on my lower cheeks. Maybe that would have happened anyway, or maybe the cream had to flush out all the toxins (whatever they were) before killing them. Nevertheless, within 2 months I was bump free. I just have a couple of tiny pink areas around my nose that are not bumpy at all, but given that my skin is extremely fair, are possibly just the shadows of where the POD used to be. Sometimes I get spots that I suspect are pimples but am so nervous about a new POD outbreak that I dab them with the phytoseptic cream. So far no new outbreaks. Although it took 2 months in total, this is at least how long I would have had to be on antibiotics anyway and I am very pleased that I found an alternative that was easy to use and good for my skin. I can't give the brand name here, but if you search the internet using the information I've given I'm sure you'll find the cream I'm talking about. It may not work for everyone, just as the other remedies didn't work for me. In that case, however, it may at least be an idea that leads you on to the product that does work. Good luck!"

04/21/2010: Gwendolyn from Littlteon, Nh, Usa writes: "I am new to EC and have a few questions. First of all I have a severe case of excema, which I've had off and on all my life. But this recent case is going on 6 years and no relief.
1. I am curious in older posts and how do I find them?
2. Is it ok to do mulitple remedies not at the same time but use them seperately during the day. Like, Apple cider vingear with a little Baking Soda and 1/8 tsp. Borax (not boric acid) with distilled water 1 liter. I also am using the methylene blue .01% soultion 2 drops in 8 ozs of distilled water. I also take a vitamin c with the methylene blue.
I feel I have Candidia and Fungus and need to eradicate these before my excema can go away. I have looked and can't find an answer to this. My friends are concerned that I'm trying to many things at once. I'm not a good scientist, I want a cure right now. I have suffered so and want relief.
3. I'm not sure if this is the Herxheimer affect but I'm breaking out with more spots red and hurtful. Some have white heads. Is this a normal reaction and the toxins are leaving me?
4. Ted said something about collectiong Nanonits in a box I thought they were tiny and can't be seen by the eye. How do these leave your body?
I do feel I have a fungus of some sort, my Doctors all say I don't but they don't believe in Candida systematicly I have not been tested for this. I also only at night feel like my skin is crawling and spots feel like I'm getting bit.
Sorry this is so long. I'm going crazy with all this and would love some response.
Thank you,

RepliesEC: Hi Gwendolyn,
Can answer your question #1: Older posts are found at the bottom of the list of any remedy, newest posts at the top. If the post has no date, then it was written prior to 2006 (when nothing on the site was dated).
04/21/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Gwendolyn,
It does sound like you have possibly a combination of candida and parasites hence, the crawling feeling. If the body is alkaline and brought into balance, these things cannot flourish in/on our body. You can do this from several angles. It sounds like you have already begun which is really great that you are taking an active part in your health. And yes, it is common for doctors not to acknowledge the existence of this terrible condition of candida that is plaguing our country so, ignore them, go on your merry way and take care of business.
From your description, it sounds like you are beginning to detox. You are correct in recognizing that to truly eradicate the eczema you must clear your body of the fungus/candida. And remember, when we detox, it is not unusual to feel worse before you get better. It's annoying but it is part of the process that one must go through to reach the other side. And it is worth getting to the other side! I guarantee that if you do this, you will one day soon find relief from your struggle with eczema. Remember too that detoxing can happen in stages. It's better to go slow if you are not familiar with detoxing. A sudden intense detox can be quite uncomfortable and not unlike the flu.
You can begin this change through your diet with alkalinizing foods such as lots of greens and drinking young coconut kefir since it does not have any dairy in it. This will help the body to begin finding its internal balance. Remember, what's going on on the outside is a result of the internal ecosystem and the state of our organs. In the morning drink clean water (not from your tap!) with lots of fresh lemon juice added. The liver needs help too and loves sour and bitter in nature.
There is also a device called The Zapper which you can get online that will "zap" the beasties immediately. Search on the internet because you can find various prices for them. They are based on Hulda Clark's work in this field. It is spoken of quite highly by those who use them.
Well, this a beginning and I really do hope it helps. You will take back your life- just know there is light at the end of the tunnel! Here's to your journey,
Lisa"
04/22/2010: Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines replies: "Hi Gwendolyn...My heart certainly goes out to you with the problems you are facing. I had candida for over 7 years(probably longer) and it took a year to eradicate. My own symptoms were: constipation, constant bloating, psoriasis, eczma, BM once every 4 days, low energy, jock itch (tinea cruris) and bad athletes foot. Remember that there can be over 20 symptoms of candida -- no two people's symptoms are necessarily the same -- this is why doctors have such a difficult time diagnosing candida.
I also found that when I finally and slowly defeated my candida -- most of the above symptoms simply disappeared. So, I would completely agree with your opinion -- First, do everything you can to eradicate your candida -- this must be your priority. And yes, my friends also thought I was mad taking all these remedies and not going to the doctor. But I'm very glad I did what I did because it all worked... Remember that you will always get support on EC.
Here are some answers regarding your questions:
1. I am curious in older posts and how do I find them?
I learnt that the best way to find out any info on EC is to simply use their Search Box at top right on every EC page. If, for instance you are looking for a particular use of a remedy just type "hydrogen peroxide" or "baking soda" in the Search Box. If you are looking for a specific remedy by, say, Ted or Joyce then just type "ted alkalizing" or "Joyce ACV" in the Search Box. This is the easiest way to find what you want. When you do a search, a new tab will open on your browser, with all finds shown as a short Google list.
2. Is it ok to do multiple remedies not at the same time but use them separately during the day....
Yes, generally, it's fine to use multiple remedies throughout the day -- I do it all the time, provided you take them at different times. I use a combined remedy most days -- I create my own alkaline drinking water by adding 1/4 tspn borax(1/8 tspn for women), magnesium bicarbonate and sea salt(sometimes adding hydrogen peroxide). Since you should only take borax 4 days of the week and resting for 3, I drink this every other day(or you can just leave out the borax -- taking it separately -- and drink this mineral mix every day if you like).
For acceptable remedy combinations, see this link:
Ted's Remedy Combinations
I also use Methylene Blue with megadose Vit C. There is nothing like it for a pick-me-up to give you energy !! Also very useful against fungus and Alzheimer's.
3. I'm not sure if this is the Herxheimer affect but I'm breaking out with more spots...
You will always get a die-off or Herxheiner effect when you get rid of candida. And if you have nanoinsects in your body, they will manifest and come out of your skin in some form -- whether pimples or rash. My own experience was that I would just get flu-like and "liverish" symptoms in eradicating my own candida(I don't think I had a nanoinsect problem). So I also took support herbs like milk thistle, Tinospora cordifolia, tumeric and Chanca Piedra to support my organs, intestines, blood and I also took immune boosters to help aid my immune system.
4. Ted said something about collection Nanonits in a box I thought they were tiny and can't be seen by the eye. How do these leave your body?
Usually the nanoinsects leave by the skin, manifesting as an itchy rashes or pimples. As well as using borax internally, I would also recommend that you make up a mix -- 1 tablespoon Epsom salts plus one teaspoon of borax in an 8 oz garden sprayer -- and spray this on your body or affected areas after your shower or bath(I do this regularly). This way you are both attacking the problem internally and externally. Here is Ted's own description of effective external, topical ointments used specifically against bacteria, fungus, virus and nanoinsects:
"...Therefore we can make some obvious assumption: it is either a flesh eating bacteria, a fungus, a virus, or a nanoinsects. Borax, hydrogen peroxide, washing soda, baking soda, zinc, magnesium, and iodine should cover all territories.
Borax handles fungus and nanoinsects best.
Hydrogen peroxide kills generally by attacking an organic forms, which kills bacteria, fungus, viruses, but never nanoinsects. It acts as a catalysts to all solutions.
Iodine is best in loosing the glue that binds the bacteria to healthy cells (autoimmunity the best), but not necessarily kill them.
Magnesium is an underappreciated antibiotics that best handles bacteria which almost as effective as a silver compounds, but a lot cheaper and has little side effects.
Zinc is effective against most viruses.
Alkalinity is one territory that antibiotic resistant and chemical resistant bacteria have an Achille's heels. Those are best handled with washing soda, potassium bicarbonate, or sodium carbonate.
A 1% hydrogen peroxide with saturated solution borax (add until they no longer dissolve). They seem to have the best overall applications for me and if you can get magnesium chloride (or epsom salt or milk of mangesia) and a couple drops of iodine to it, the chances of killing the antibiotics can kill many fold to well over 1000 different microbes which includes, viruses, bacteeria and fungus. This is a wider spectrum solution that you can use.
In case you are wondering what kinds of solutions I do here for my skin infections then it is the zinc chloride 5%, magnesium chloride 10% solution, plus a drop or two of povidone iodine. Those are mainly for viral, nanoinsects and bacterial microbes. Therefore to kill the fungus, I might add saturated borax to the mix. This one is more ideal, but relatively difficult to obtain.
The secret seems to be preventing reinfection from clothes and frequency of application, such as 10 times per day or more. No rinsing either.
Of course, I recognize the trouble of finding chemicals, which is why I opt for simpler easier to find chemicals in a local drug store stores such as milk of magnesia, epsom salt, borax, hydrogen peroxide and povidone iodine. Since I haven't visited U.S. drug stores for over 20 years, it difficult for me to recommend other ones you can find easy today. Those that I distinctly remember that they have is what I am recommending."

I hope I haven't confused you but my own feeling is that you are on the right track. I hope this has helped."
04/22/2010: Gwendolyn from Littleton, Nh, Usa replies: "Thankyou Lisa,
I am familar with Body Ecology, I live in the East and coconut kiefer is hard to make out here. I have been Gluten-Free for three years now so giving up white flour is easy for me. Sugar is being eradicated from my diet. Substituting with stevia. Working on sticking to the BE Diet. I will look into the zap thing. but is it safe to do all three rememdies together, that I mention above? Thanks, Gwendolyn
Thank Goodness I found this site!"
04/22/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Gwendolyn, It is my understanding that the zapper is completely safe to use in addition to other methods. There are people who keep it on them at all times as well as those that only use it at night or only periodically. Hope this helps, Lisa"
04/23/2010: Gwendolyn from Littleton, Nh, Usa replies: "A big Thank you! to Bill and Lisa, I am so grateful for your responses, I'm feeling better now and not like this is crazy. I'm slowly seeing an improvement in the old spots. The new ones that keep poping up are bothersome, but it's working I think. My Doctor wants me to take prozac to help stop the itch/scratch cycle. I told her about the ACV, but not the borax or methylene blue. I doubt she would understand. I'm going to go ask my pharmacist if he knows any drug interactions. My concern is that there is the possible use of flouride in prozac. After reading everyones post on this subject I am elimating flouride from my use. I don't drink the town's water. I go to a local spring, and have started to boil it. I also buy distilled water. For years I've tried to figure out what I might be allergic to. So thank you again!Gwendolyn"
04/23/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Prozac?! Yow! That is anti-depression medication in the big leagues! Personally, I wouldn't go there. You can take care of your issues through alternative methods that are posted here on EC. What is your dr's purpose for wanting to give you that? Go to the root of the problem and I guarantee you will have true relief- not just some "band-aid" that will only lead to other issues. Really, think that one through.
Take care, Lisa"
04/23/2010: Gwendolyn from Littleton, Nh, Usa replies: "Hi Lisa,
the medical theory is that Prozac is a SSRI which will "as they say" help stop the scratch/itch cycle. It's also used for OCDisorder, which not being able to stop the scratching is considered OCD. What they are not hearing is that at night I feel like my skin is crawling, and sometimes like I'm being pinched. So I'm doing Ted's remedies and I think it's working I'm breaking out with more red painful pimples all over. It is spreading all over my body now. So I'm killing off the "Nanoinsects" as Ted calls them. I have resisted going down that Proazc road for six years now. I wish there was a way to post a picture. I'm very desperate for some relief. I'm working on the patience thing. I have really appreciated your responses and wisdom! I have been always asking my numerous Doctors what is causing this and they would throw 'bandaids' at me which none worked. So I feel I'm on the right track and with your reasurance is so comforting! Thank you again!"
EC: Hi Gwenolyn, we'd be happy to post a photo of your condition on the website. Just email one to: deirdre@earthclinic.com.
04/24/2010: Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines replies: "Hi Gwendolyn...Prozac should never be given by any doctor for itch's and rashes -- it is normally given as an anti-depressant. One of the side-effects of Prozac is that it CAUSES rashes -- as well as possibly causing suicidal tendencies. Prozac also contains Fluoxetine -- which means that it does indeed contain Fluorine.
A definite no to taking Prozac, avoid it like the plague."
04/24/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Gwendolyn,Good for you for resisting that bad advice. Prozac is some heavy duty stuff that you don't want to get involved with. Especially if it has nothing to do with mental illness. I understand their reasoning- insinuating that what you actually suffer from is OCD. I never got that impression from your posts. That is a problem with drs. and several posts on EC indicate this- there is an insinuation to people that what they are experiencing is all in their head. That alone could make one crazy!
On a positive note, you are onto it! I'm sure you are desperate for relief. Are you eating alkalizing foods? That will also help the process quicker as nano insects, illness and bacterias don't like alkaline environments. If you currently drink soda, stop immediately! That keeps the body very acidic. Also, did you do some research on zappers? If it interests you I can tell you where I found the least expensive one made with the specifics of Hulda Clark. Some of the top people in the raw food world swear by them.
Remember too, there are blessings within all things. Sometimes that's hard to swallow down. I know that through my own issues I have learned compassion for others pain. Having been raised a dancer, it was my belief that you just "power through" and get to the other side. Anything else, you were just being a whiner. Not the most compassionate viewpoint. I've also learned to be more patient with myself- something I also lacked in. And everyday, on this journey, I get better through learning something new!
Take heart and remember that here on EC there is a whole community of people who are committed to finding answers outside the mainstream media and medical world. And there are answers...
Here's to our journey,
Lisa"
04/24/2010: Gwendolyn from Littleton, Nh, Usa replies: "I agree this is what I've been saying to them for years! Once again trying to cover up with a band aid and not getting to what is causing the problem... But on with my war last night was the worst ever. Couldn't sleep, crawling skin and felt like I was getting bit. but my sores are healing and looks like its slowly going away. I have some bad sores on my lower leg the first site. This one may take a long time to heal.I've decided to keep a journel starting tomorrow as to what I do and what time. just so I can report what I did and how it worked so maybe if someone else is suffering like me, maybe the professionals will suggest what worked for me.
Thank you so much!"
04/26/2010: Pat from Athens, Al replies: "Just a Question: is borax the same as the laundry detergent additive called "Boraxo" available in the laundry aisle at the supermarket in the United States or is this something different? If so, where can I find it? Pat"
EC: 20 Mule Team is the brand of borax that most folks in the USA are buying. Usually found in the laundry aisle at most supermarkets.
04/27/2010: Kerry from Port Alberni, Bc, Canada replies: "Boraxo does have boron in it, but also contains soap and detergents. I wouldn't recommend using it internally. You should be able to find plain borax either in the same aisle or another store."
05/06/2010: Gwendolyn from Littleton, Nh, Usa replies: "To Lisa, Yes please I would love to hear more about the zappers! Do you need my email? I looked it up and the web site is confusing. Thanks, Gwendolyn"

05/07/2010: Tee from Chicago, Il replies: "Hi EC I just received my T2 Zapper and I cant believe this little thing is suppose to do so much. But I have a question is there any precautions to using one of these things?? Also Is there a way I can perhaps make it more effective through my diet or just daily health routines?? Thanks in advance I always turn to earthclinc for my health concerns. Thank you too Lisa for responding."
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 05/19/2010: Gwendolyn from Littleton, Nh, Usa replies: "Hello and just a update! It's been a long haul and I'm healing and my skin is looking better. I did three remedies: Apple Cider Vinegar, 1/8 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of good drinking water, 2 drops of .01% methylene blue in 8 oz of water (distilled) taken at different times. I believe the Apple Cider Vinegar is the most helpful but couldn't do its job without killing off whatever I was the host to. Therefore the Borax was most beneficial especially when a bath is taken in it (1 cup of borax, and 1 bottle of hydrogen peroxide). Black pepper specks in the water after, very freakish. The methylene blue not sure if this was helpful because fungus inside us is hard to detect. But I don't crave sugar anymore. Now to heal the purple scars and continue with my quest for beautiful skin."

So I tried some remedies, and they worked! I do this three times a day, in this order: Apply Apple Cider Vinager to hands and let it dry, then apply warm olive oil. Then at night before bedtime, I also soak my hands in chamomile tea. In addition to this I take a dietary supplement, it is a blend of Omega 3-6-9 complex. I found this blend at a grocery store.
My daughter who is 5 years old, recently broke out with eczema on her face. I'm applying the ACV and olive oil 3 times a day. I diluted the ACV, because it was too strong. In the morning before school I just apply a little lotion, so the kids do not make fun of her having oil all over her face. I'm also going to start having her eat half a apple a day. Hopefully this will work for her! And I hope this helps others."

After 20 years of dealing with dyshdriotic eczema, allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis...essentially every skin malady recognized under the sun... I think I can provide some help. While steroidal creams such as diflorasone diacetate provide relief, they do not cure or prevent. The problem is organic. Here is the cocktail that I have found keeps me quasi-remissive with the least amount of side-effects: 1200mg of Lecithin, 50mg of zinc, 400 I.U. of vitamin E and 500mg L-Lysine once daily after a meal. For some reason, the anti-hystaminic effects of loratadine are more effective for skin disorders than other common OTC anti-histamines. I suggest one 10 mg loratadine once to twice a week to give the skin a "calm-down" period. Works for me...and I cook for a living."

NEEM OIL

[YEA] 01/21/2012: Fazeila921 from Atlanta, Ga writes: "I read online that neem is good for eczema. I happened to have some neem powder at home that I purchased for use on my hair and face masks. I decided to try the powder in a warm tub of water and soaked in it. It took the itch away immediately. So, the next I purchased 100% organic neem seed oil from Whole Foods. I rubbed it on with a little tea tree oil and I felt instant relief. I put it on the next morning and again the following night. The eczema subsided! Now I am left with the really ugly dark scars from the eczema but it is flat, no longer red or itchy and on my way to recovery.
Warning: Neem seed oil stinks!! It's like a cross between onions, garlic & cabbage soup. This is how it smells normally. Very unpleasant but it works. I will definitely keep a bottle handy just in case I have another episode.
P.S. I've tried using tea tree oil alone for eczema in the past and it didn't really help much. I also tried applying apple cider vinegar and it burned like hell and didn't help much either. It was the neem that zapped away the eczema for sure."

NEEM OIL, BAKING SODA

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 12/06/2009: Cynthia from Auckland, Nz writes: "Recently I have had an outbreak of eczema reminiscent of childhood - hot band like rashes, worse in bed at night, sometimes weeping - pretty much everywhere -all the joint areas of body even nipples. So I have tried two new things lately = NEEM OIL - few drops in bath and spray on baking soda. The neem takes the itch away and the redness. The baking soda spray - 1 tsp in bottle of water stings like buggerey at first but I sprayed it on my foot and it was all raised up and the next day it was flat. It's not cured yet but is better. Neem takes the itch out but don't overdo it. I leave my skin to dry after - it's quite dry but I can't put creams on as they make me itch."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 12/08/2009: Chammo from Bimingham, West Midlands, UK writes: "I had eczema when I was 1 years old, it cleared when I was 5. It started again when I was about 11 and I have had it since. At the moment its on my arms, face, behind my knee joints, on my chest, neck and part of my back. I have been oil pulling three times for the past two days, today I read about the Apple Cider Vinegar applied topically, I have just had a shower and put the ACV on my chest, arms, face and behind the knee joints. It was itching awfully but I clenched my fist and th eitch went away after about 10-15 seconds.
Please can you tell me if what I am doing it right and how to cure my eczema and the scars. At the beginning of the year, I made my own cream. I used Niacinamide powder, mixed with a little bit of water, I added vitamin E, afew drops of rosehip oil and added my daily moisturiser. That helped my skin alot. I am going to order all the products again.
I also tried covering my body in normal yoghurt, then washing it in tepid water after it had dried, about half an hour, this was to be done for a week and then i had to apply malt vineger, but I was abit worried in case the vinegar scarred my skin.
Please can you urgently advise."

[YEA] 10/08/2008: Millicent from Missouri City, TX, USA writes: "I am a 25 year old female who just acquired eczema for the first time at 20 years old when I had my second daughter (who also has eczema). Any medication the doctor gave her would make her worse, and me. That's when I found out that eczema, allergies, and sensitive skin are all completely seperate from each other.
For example: The first cream that was given to us, we found out contained petroleum, which I found out we are allergic to and it made the eczema worse. The creams that did not contain petroleum still had a lot of chemicals, which our skin is sensitive to, so they too made the eczema worse. The only thing that I have found that will COMPLETELY heal my eczema and leave me and my daughter with the most smooth, beautiful, flawless skin you have ever seen is Oatmeal. I guess because my skin is sensitive, the Apple Cider Vinegar dries my skin and causes peeling, even with very small doses. Oatmeal contains fiber which I have found is the only thing that will clear my skin. Any thing I eat I make sure contains lots of fiber and whole grains.
I understand that skin problems start in the digestive tract but I think my skin problems came from taking too much iron. The doctor would always complain about my iron being so low. When I was pregnant, I was taking pre-natal vitamins with iron, and a separate iron pill. I just recently read that a person's Iron cannot be low. Iron is stored in the body in the right amounts, then is has to get released into the blood. I think my body was not releasing the iron in the right amounts. My mother also had the same problem. When she was pregnant with my sister, her iron was really low, and she had to get iron shots everyday. My sister now has eczema, allergies, and very sensitive skin too. Oatmeal and other high fiber foods (not only grains but spinach, apples, bananas, beans, etc are also high in fiber) cleans all the gunk out of the blood whch helps your body to regulate the minerals in the blood. I am not a doctor so I do not know how this works. I would love for some one the explain it more thoroughly."
Replies10/16/2008: Juli from Socorro, NM replies: "Your story is very familiar to me. I, too, was iron deficient throughout my last pregnancy. My eczema began during pregnancy and continued after it, and my son was born with the same skin problems. My doctor diagnosed it as "eczema", which is a spurious diagnosis that means your doctor is too lazy to discover what is really wrong with you. When I started to come down with the flu, I went to the store and bought zinc lozenges. After three days of the lozenges, most of the eczema went away. After a few weeks of 50 mg zinc tablets, my rashes were gone. So were my son's (probably from nursing). During pregnancy, the woman's body ups its copper storage for the protection of the baby. Some women are prone to storing too much and can become zinc deficient. BTW, it is the excess copper that causes the rashes and not the lack of zinc. Many months later, I still take the zinc on and off. It has completely gotten rid of my acne, the white spots on my nails, as well as the eczema. This is kind of a complex subject, but I will try to make it simple: when the body is overloaded on copper, it is stored in the liver, thereby causing a deficiency in the blood which shows up as a kind of anemia in blood tests that has nothing to do with iron deficiency. It also isn't copper deficiency, but copper overload that causes a false reading. Anyway, your story is so familiar, and zinc supplements are so cheap, that it is worth a try.
p.s. another BTW, I still can't wear jewelry, even after months of zinc lozenges, due to the copper alloy in gold and silver jewelry."

OCEAN WATER

[YEA] 08/04/2011: Dana from Orlando, Fl writes: "I have been suffering with eczema for 9 months on my hands. It's very painful and embarrassing. This past weekend, I went away to the beach and realized after the third day my hands were healing. I also stopped drinking tap water and started drinking bottled or kangen water. After I arrived home from beach, my hands flared up again after one day so I decided to drive back over to beach and get a gallon of the ocean water and rub on my hands before I go to bed. I have put ocean water on my hand for 5 days now and there are no open cracks or pain in my hands, especially the itching. I wanted to share my story because I am hoping this will help others."

[YEA] 10/08/2009: Doug from Cucamonga, Ca, Usa writes: "I have had a large patch of eczema on the back of my leg for about 10 years. Sometimes it doesn't itch much, other times it itches so bad that I scratch it until it's raw. I have tried a number of topical treatments, all of which helped...but none of which were able to cure it completely. So finally, after 10 years, it's gone! And what, you ask, is the reason? Ocean water. Several months ago I went to a 2 week training in San Diego and noticed that after snorkeling a handful of times in my spare time, the itch was lessened and the skin on the back of my knee felt softer. I loved snorkeling (not for eczema reduction, but simply because I enjoyed it) and I recently decided to get Scuba certified. After a dive I would notice, like with snorkeling, that the itch was lessened and the skin on the back of my knee felt softer. Well, over the past 2 months I have done about 15 dives and the eczema is gone! Ten years of various natural and unnatural salves/creams/pastes couldn't fix what the ocean could after only several "treatments".
It's worth noting that (I believe) one would have to actually go to the ocean and be in the water to get the benifits. That is, I do not believe mixing salt and water would work. Nor do I believe you could bring home some ocean water and apply it and get the same results. It is my belief that the ocean water needs to be "alive". Meaning, it needs to be full of all the bacteria/microorganisms/fresh plant particles etc. that are present in the water's natural state. I realise that not all eczema sufferers live on the coast, so for many sufferers this may not be helpful info--but for eczema sufferers living near the beach, they would be well advised to take make as many beach trips as possible...it could very well be the miracle cure they're looking for.
Also, I had the thought that maybe fresh "ocean" water from a salt-water aquarium could be effective. Since, in the aquarium, the water contains many of the same bacteria etc. that would be found in the natural ocean it seems at least possible that this water could be used to treat eczema (i.e. dipping a cloth in the tank and applying it to the affected area. In theory, at least, this seems more likely to be successful than, say, transporting ocean water from the beach since many of the living organisms in the water will be unable to survive for more than a couple of hours.
Sincerely,
Doug"
10/09/2009: Rob from Manhattan, New York replies: "Hi Doug, good to hear you found a cure... I have a friend with severe Psoriatic Arthritis and for him the only really effective treatment is a trip to the Dead Sea. He said buying the bath salts just didn't do it. I wonder if it could be a combination of the sun and sea water and stress relief. Tout ensemble!"
[YEA] 01/06/2010: Jim from Ipswich, Sd Usa replies: "Hey Doug, I suffer from eczema on my ankles, when I went in the Navy I snorkeled often. I noticed the seawater and sun would clear my eczema right away. I try using a tanning bed now and it helps, but the combination sun and seawater worked well. The ACV stops the itch for now till I can get back to the sea."
01/13/2010: Bunny from Santa Ana, Ca replies: "Any time you have a skin issue that improves in the sun it could indicate an inability to produce enough fumaric acid. A doctor can test for it. I'ts a genetic glitch, so you will need to supplement forever if this is the problem."

We have tried the cortizone cremes from the doctors and that did not help her at all. I've been reading here today on the suggstions of using Apple Cider Vinegar and plan to try that. I can remember as a small child my grandma taking vinegar to help with her ailments so maybe there is something to this.
As a side note I personally am taking the oregano capsules as well for sinus relief (have been for three years). I used to have a large problem with my sinus passages closing up when I laid down for the evening. I was taking a ton of OTC medications to just be able to go to sleep. I started taking this after reading up about the many health issues that are related to what is in our blood stream and that this herb can help with this. I do belive that this herb has helped us a lot."

The wonderful result though is the inflammation has subsided. I am noticing new skin growing back slowly. It is thrilling to know that this harmless protocol is helping this painful debilitating disease that orthodox meds cannot heal. Peace and Health to all."

OLIVE OIL

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 01/12/2010: Felirose from Destin, Florida writes: "Olive Oil Helped my Eczema
I've had eczema for several years now. Originally, I was told that it was ringworm, so I tried putting Apple Cider Vinegar on it (that was not organic - it was the brown/amber color it was supposed to be, but was diluted, a generic store brand). That only made it much, much worse.
After getting a second opinion, I was told it was eczema and put on 0.05% steroid cream. It helps a ton, but is expensive...
So I started using Olive Oil. I filled the bathtub up with hot water, and put about a 1/8 cup (perhaps a little less - you do not need much at all) of Extra Virgin Olive Oil in it. Then I just relaxed in the bathtub for an hour or so. I also put a 1/4 cup of epsom salt in there, to help me relax.
After I got out, I patted myself dry with a terrycloth towel (be careful getting out of the tub - and don't towel dry like normal, because you'll rub the oil off your body) and got dressed. My Eczema looked much better, not to mention, my entire body felt like silk!"
01/15/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, France replies: "Nice to read that someone else also uses olive oil in the bath water.... Due to the age my skin is a lot drier and nothing seemed to help. I am now using olive oil but I wonder whether it really works. When I get out my skin is very moist but then during the night if I wake up I start noticing that my hands are very dry. Does the olive oil only work on the surface?"
[YEA] 04/08/2011: Ann Rose from Minneapolis, Minnesota replies: "I used olive oil as a lotion directly on my eczema. The first time it was like my skin gave a sigh of relief. Everyday the patch got smaller and smaller until it was gone within about 2 weeks. Now I use olive oil and grape seed oils as moisturizers and haven't had any eczema for over a year, even though we just got through one of our worst winters ever."

[YEA] 11/28/2011: Bud from Elverson, Pennsylvania writes: "Since eczema is so annoying with the pain and itching, there can really be no relief for the disease itself until the itching is stopped. I have found that the antiseptic salve from the Rawleigh company really worked exceptionally well.
The salve has as its ingredients medicinal turpentine and phenol (carbolic acid) which sterilizes the area. The salve itself stops the itching so you don't scratch the area affected, allowing the body to naturally heal the area.
The treatement that worked the best was to coat the area with the salve, then wrap with a soft cloth overnight to protect it. The itching stopped immediately."

PROBIOTICS

[YEA] 03/17/2011: Steve from Naples, Florida writes: "The problem with Eczema is that it is usually a systemic problem caused by an overgrowth of candida. So one has to adhere to a strict diet of meats, vegetables, and salads until the rash is gone. Avoid anything that is sweet including fruits. Also avoid potatoes, pasta, bread, rice, mushrooms, cereal, dairy products, etc. Absorbine jr. works to kill the candida ( fungus ) from the outside but if your diet is poor it will keep coming back. Take probiotics in addition to absorbine jr to accelerate the dieing off of the internal candida. Apply the absorbine 4 times a day and take one packet of probiotics per day. If you are over 50 yrs old like I am , you need to take betaine HCL with each protein meal ( 2 - 600 mg tabs ) because most older people's stomachs do not produce enough HCL and undigested protein enters the blood and the body produces addition candida in the gut to counter the problem. I did all of these things and within 2 weeks my eczema was completely gone.
The medical industry is so corrupt that they think eczema is a genetic problem that each patient has to endure for life. They give you steriod products that only attack the symtoms and the same time it damages healthy tissue. Avoid doctors like the plague. Thank God we have this forum to help get thr truth out. Thank you earthclinic! "

Bread, sugar, deserts, my eczema came back afterwards, and now its worst than ever! :( I'm hoping to slowly ease back into eating more raw foods and hopefully it will improve and leave me for good! "

REMEDIES NEEDED
08/23/2011: Geo from Anaheim, Ca writes: "Do I have eczema?
Over the years, I've been getting these itchy patches on my legs (once on my left bicep) that fluctuate from raw and leaky to dry and flaky. Last year was my first "flare up" where my body seemed to have some sort of hives or scabies. I had red itchy bumps all over my body and my face and neck. My dermatologist told me that my patch was an infection and that the rest of my body was starting to "freak out" because of it. He gave me some ointments and pills and I was good until now. The symptoms are back and worse than ever. For the past few days, I've been waking up in the middle of the night due to an itchy groin (especially the scrotum and anus). Not only that, but my red bumps are back and seem to be all over my limbs. Just tonight I seem to have had itchy armpits that itched like crazy. My scrotum seems to be the worst, as it feels as though its being prickled and stung, but I when I look, I don't see any visible rash. My skin color is brown, so I'm not sure if I have what is known as a brown rash. Anyway, my only relief seems to be taking extremely hot showers all over my skin. Nearly scalding hot water seems to have an intense and almost euphoric relief on the itchy areas of my skin and even some of the not so itchy areas as well. This is how I came the the notion that I have eczema as I have read some experiences about people with eczema have had regarding the same exact sensation. So there are two things I would like to know: Do I have eczema? And what are better ways to provide a relief to my itchy scrotum and anus so that I can sleep? (something other than burning my testicles)"

The condition cannot be spread to others.Psoriasis seems to be passed down through families. Doctors think it probably occurs when the body's immune system mistakes healthy cells for dangerous substances and there are new studies showing vitamin D deficiency may be trigger for out breaks.
Skin cells grow deep in the skin and normally rise to the surface about once a month. In persons with psoriasis, this process is too fast (about 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks) and dead skin cells build up on the skin's surface.
The following may trigger an attack of psoriasis or make the condition more difficult to treat:
Bacteria or viral infections, including strep throat and upper respiratory infections Dry air or dry skin Injury to the skin, including cuts, burns, and insect bites Some medicines, including antimalaria drugs, beta-blockers, and lithium Stress Too little sunlight Too much sunlight (sunburn) Too much alcohol Home treatments Oatmeal baths may be soothing and may help to loosen scales. You can use over-the-counter oatmeal bath products. Or, you can mix 1 cup of oatmeal into a tub of warm water. Sunlight may help your symptoms go away. Be careful not to get sunburned. Relaxation and antistress techniques may be helpful. The link between stress and flares of psoriasis is not well understood, however. Vitamin D orally and vitamin D cream"
