<description>[YEA] Paras from Louth, Drogheda, Ireland writes: "Hi guys,

I have had eczema for a good part of five years.

I'm sick and tired just like the rest of you guys.

stumbled across this site and saw the apple cider vinegar remedies.

I ordered it online and it actually does work if you apple it more so then drink it. just get some Apple Cider Vinegar with same amount of water.

soak it in cotton. Apply it on affected areas. it will sting at first but the sting dies soon.

Another thing I did to improve my eczema is drink plenty of water and take cold shower!

Oh yeah and also try to avoid foods that flare up your eczema! Curry is a big no-no for me!

The cold shower is the best method for me!

It is ver effective and seems to me like my uncurable eczema is cured.

Just sharing with you guys because what it can be like having eczema..

hope u guys beat eczema!

<description> Yukoncorleone from Binghamton, Ny, United States writes: "I wasn't sure how to post my own post for the Apple Cider Vinegar thread for Eczema Remedies so I guess if this is the right way I'll just wait and see if my post shows up in the next day or two. If not I guess I'll just have to reply to somebody's post to get my question out there.

Joe from Upstate NY writes: I've spent most of the day reading these posts on ACV and I'm ready to give it a try for my Eczema that I've knowingly had (finally diagnosed with it by my doctor 3 weeks ago) for the past 3 months, but probably have had most of my life. And of course like with many of you, the doctors first reaction was to give me the oral steroids, creams, ointments, and antihistamines and then send me off to the dermatologist and allergist. I haven't gotten into the dermatologist or allergist yet, but until then I've took it upon myself to look some things up, which is how I came upon this site.

It's been really bad these past few months so I guess this is why I'm finally doing something about it. The steroids, creams, and antihistamines help a little with the itch, but the rash is still there and comes back full force when I stop taking them. It seems like the ACV combined with a good diet is working with some people to totally get rid of the embarrassing red patches that show up on the skin and in my case, almost all over the body (hands, arms, legs, back, chest abdomen, and waist).

I realize ACV is probably not the cure, and that you have to address the cause, which is probably my poor diet, but I just want to get rid of the embarrassing rash and that horrible itch. Hopefully by combining this treatment with eating better, I can get rid of or minimize the horrible effects of this disease.

I plan on getting the stuff with the "Mother" in it and just have some questions about how to take it topically and orally because I would like to do both. It is not that clear by reading through the posts of how much I should take and whether it should be diluted or used right out of the bottle. Maybe it's up to me but some quick replies on what you guys (other ACV users) do would be greatly appreciated.

Topically: Should I dilute it with water before I put it on my skin? What is the ratio? I've read 50/50, 1/3 to 2/3, etc. Etc. What's the best material to use to put it on your skin? Cotton balls? I have a lot of area on my body to cover. Do I have to dilute it? Would it hurt if I didn't dilute it before putting it on my skin?

Orally: I read that some people dilute 2 tablespoons in 8 ounces of water and drink it once in the morning and once at night. Do I have to dilute it in the water or is that just to ease the taste? Would it hurt to drink it as is, and then drink water after wards? I'm already planning on increasing my water consumption to improve my dry skin. Are 2 tablespoons the correct amount or should I drink less or more than that? Should I drink it once in the morning and once at night (with 2 tblspoons at each sitting), just once during the day, or more than this?

Sorry for the long post, just trying to figure out what to do with this ACV because I don't want to end up making things worse. Thank you in advance for your replies.

<description> Paul from Antigonish, Nova Scotia writes: "I have been looking for something for my Mothers eczema. I was so shocked and happy to hear of the apple cider vinegar treatment. It makes perfect sense that it would work, and the people who get worse before it gets better, this is your body detoxifying. It's really good that it gets worse after you start your treatment. <description> Karen Helena from Toronto, Ontario writes: "I've had chronic eczema come and go all my life. No rhyme or reason. I tried western medicine, chinese, homeopathic, creams, remedies, you name it I've tried it. I'm a believer that eczema is the body's way of telling us we're toxic and I also know that often ailments get worse before they get better. At least I know this to be true in theory.

Whenever I've tried western medicine it clears up but eventually re-occurs. I think this is because I'm pushing the toxicity back into my body. I started to get a bad breakout last month. I forgot that my grandma says she takes ACV every morning and she is 92 and fit as a fiddle. In desperation, I started taking it. Most of the advice on this website says 2tbsp once or twice a day in water. I've been doing it for 3 days and my eczema has spread significantly and I haven't had it this bad in years and years. In fact, in the past it would breakout in one or two areas but now it seems it's flaring in all of those previously flared areas.

I'm a little scared but I'm wondering if this is just a major detox. I couldn't possibly be having an allergic reaction. I don't mind drinking the ACV now. It doesn't disgust me in the least but is it possible to have too much? If this is in fact a hard core detox and it works, than I will perservere through the pain.

Bread, sugar, deserts, my eczema came back afterwards, and now its worst than ever! :( I'm hoping to slowly ease back into eating more raw foods and hopefully it will improve and leave me for good!

<description>[YEA] Fazeila921 from Atlanta, Ga writes: "I read online that neem is good for eczema. I happened to have some neem powder at home that I purchased for use on my hair and face masks. I decided to try the powder in a warm tub of water and soaked in it. It took the itch away immediately. So, the next I purchased 100% organic neem seed oil from Whole Foods. I rubbed it on with a little tea tree oil and I felt instant relief. I put it on the next morning and again the following night. The eczema subsided! Now I am left with the really ugly dark scars from the eczema but it is flat, no longer red or itchy and on my way to recovery.

Warning: Neem seed oil stinks!! It's like a cross between onions, garlic &amp; cabbage soup. This is how it smells normally. Very unpleasant but it works. I will definitely keep a bottle handy just in case I have another episode.

P.S. I've tried using tea tree oil alone for eczema in the past and it didn't really help much. I also tried applying apple cider vinegar and it burned like hell and didn't help much either. It was the neem that zapped away the eczema for sure.

It worked wonders for the three days I followed the instructions provided by someone else that posted way before me. I was so amazed that I did not need any additional encouragement to keep doing it. However, on the fourth day everything started to go back to "normal", meaning, itchiness, blisters, rash, aching came back. I guess that it only works because you are detoxing yourself; but the moment you go back to your regular eating habits you throw everything to waste. I am currently trying to see if there is any food allergy that might be triggering it as I have already tried two dermatologists, a homeopatic doctor, the apple fast and coconut oil (both rubbed and eaten) and nothing has worked for me yet. I need an urgent cure as I am mother of a 4yo and of a 15mo and you can imagine how painful it is even to hold them!!!

<description> Nestman from Provo, Utah writes: "I have dealt with this itchy problem for years. Over time I started realizing my situation was worse during the winter months when I would spend more time inside. Then I read somewhere on the internet that most people who work indoors do not have enough vitamin D3, which is the sunshine vitamin.

I realized that I should start supplementing and started off at a low dosage of 1,000 IU per day, then 10,000 per day and then finally I jumped it up to 60,000 IU per day and I totally got rid of the problem.

I only boosted my dosage after reading lots of information online, including stuff on the Vitamin D council website, Dr. Mercola, and interesting videos on youtube.

Now that my eczema has been eliminated for good, I have lowered the dosage down to 20,000 IU per day. Oddly enough, the government's recommendation for this important vitamin is only 400 IU. That amount is just barely enough to keep Rickets away.

As always, do your own research to determine what dosage will help your severly depleted body. Also, it may be a good idea to have a blood test done so you know what your vitamin level is in the first place.

May the Lord bless you on your question for knowledge and health.

<description>[YEA] Arsh from Austin, Tx, Usa writes: "Hi, I am sharing our own story. Our son had eczema since his birth. We had so many terrible nights, him scratching all night and us watching helplessely. We tried everything from steroid to natural home made remedies to ayurveda remedies to homeopathy, But all in vain. But things changed when our washer broke down and we bought the top of the line LG washer that has "Sanitizing wash cycle". After using the new washer our son's eczema got better within days. And this is how we believe it worked.

We were applying a lot of vaseline and aquaphor to his skin regularly as doctors reccomend. Even though we were using organic cotton clothes the vaseline was getting absorbed in the fiber of the cotton and had made a film inside the fabric. That would not only negate the purpose of using cotton but make it worse. It was breeding ground for bacteria. His clothes would feel sticky from inside even though they were looking clean. We tried boiling clothes in order to get rid of the vaseline but made no difference. But the new washer uses the sanitizing cycle and gets rid of it. It takes more than twice the time to run the cycle but the results are amazing.

For us it was nothing short of a miracle. I feel the pain of all the parents and the kids that are going through this terrible experience. But , please check if a simple change like this can make a difference in your case. I hope for the best for everyone.

<description>[YEA] Bud from Elverson, Pennsylvania writes: "Since eczema is so annoying with the pain and itching, there can really be no relief for the disease itself until the itching is stopped. I have found that the antiseptic salve from the Rawleigh company really worked exceptionally well.

The salve has as its ingredients medicinal turpentine and phenol (carbolic acid) which sterilizes the area. The salve itself stops the itching so you don't scratch the area affected, allowing the body to naturally heal the area.

The treatement that worked the best was to coat the area with the salve, then wrap with a soft cloth overnight to protect it. The itching stopped immediately.

<description>[YEA] Lydia from Hilo, Hi, Usa writes: "I have suffered with dishydrotic eczema on my pinky fingers and ankle for about 4 months. I tried everything from emu oil to steroid creams to kamani oil and more. Then I found this site and started using the apple cider vinegar approach and the vesicles started to dry up which was great, but the skin still wouldn't heal and eventually more vesicles popped up. What finally worked was a remedy a friend told me about that she learned from someone in her Korean natural farming group--egg yolk oil. Applied 2-3 times a day, it has taken my eczema from unbearable to 95% better in 10 days, I am totally amazed. It's worth a try for anyone who's been suffering for a while, it might just be a miracle like it was for me!

I don't know of anywhere that sells it, so you'll probably have to make it yourself like I did. Here's the method I used: Take a dozen eggs (i used eggs from a friends chickens, very good quality with dark orange yolks) and separate the yolks from the whites, put the yolks in a shallow pan (frying pan) and whisk them with a fork to mix to a even consistency. I suggest doing the next part outside on a camping stove or gas grill burner, as there is quite a bit of smoke and it smells pretty horrible. Making sure the yolk liquid is not too deep (only about and inch or less deep in the pan), cook over med-high heat until the yolks turn black and bubbly. It should look like tar bubbling, then it's done. This should take about 15 minutes depending on how deep the yolks are in the pan. Remove the pan from heat and quickly pour the oil that is on top of the "tar" into a jar. The tar will stay in the pan, it's basically just burnt black egg stuck to the pan. You can filter it with a mesh filter to make sure no crumbs get in the jar. The oil should be black or dark brown and smells like burnt eggs of course. A dozen eggs produces about 1 oz of oil, so if you're using it over a large area of your body you may want to make a bigger batch.

My routine which worked very well is this: soak the eczema in 50% ACV for 15 minutes once a day, apply the egg yolk oil in the morning and at night (in between I used a myrrh and frankinsence salve if it got dry), take 1 tablespoon of fish oil per day, and use gloves when washing dishes or cleaning. That's all I did, and my finger and ankle are amazingly better in 10 days. The worst part is the smell--you won't want to be in public when you have it on, but the results are so worth it. Try it and let me know if it works for you!

Thanks for reading, Lydia

<description>[YEA] Liz from Boston, Massachusetts writes: "My eighteen year old daughter has struggled with eczema outbreaks almost non-stop since she was just a wee thing. Her arms were broken out so badly that she would actually wear long sleeves on hot, summer days because she was embarrassed.

In addition to steroid creams prescribed by her dermatologist, we have tried every product (and combination of products) known to man for over a decade - special soaps, lotions, creams - you name it, we've tried it. None of it worked. At best, it offered a bit of calming, but the large patches of skin eruptions remained.

In my determination to rid her, or even just ease her of this troublesome and embarrassing affliction, I continued to research and continued to try different methods.

I am beyond excited to report that I found a combination that actually works! It has been over a month and her skin has never looked better! She is blissfully happy, and I am so happy for her.

Deep down, I always felt that treatment from the inside-out would be most effective. In my research travels, I came across an article suggesting exactly that - that "good health begins in the gut" and cited eczema as one of the ailments that could be "cured" with probiotics.

I bought some quality probiotics but after a month, we didn't see any improvement. For the heck of it, I had her eat a small container of vanilla yogurt every day and I had her take a fish oil capsule with her breakfast and again before bed. The combination worked! :) I can't believe it. After all these years, all of the remedies tried, not to mention, the thousands of dollars spent - yogurt and fish oil every day did the trick and she is finally free of it!

She joked that I should win the Nobel Prize for curing eczema (hahaha). :) I'm not sure it would be a cure for everyone, but given my daughters amazing results, it is absolutely something you should try. I hope your results are equally amazing.

<description> Geo from Anaheim, Ca writes: "Do I have eczema?

Over the years, I've been getting these itchy patches on my legs (once on my left bicep) that fluctuate from raw and leaky to dry and flaky. Last year was my first "flare up" where my body seemed to have some sort of hives or scabies. I had red itchy bumps all over my body and my face and neck. My dermatologist told me that my patch was an infection and that the rest of my body was starting to "freak out" because of it. He gave me some ointments and pills and I was good until now. The symptoms are back and worse than ever. For the past few days, I've been waking up in the middle of the night due to an itchy groin (especially the scrotum and anus). Not only that, but my red bumps are back and seem to be all over my limbs. Just tonight I seem to have had itchy armpits that itched like crazy. My scrotum seems to be the worst, as it feels as though its being prickled and stung, but I when I look, I don't see any visible rash. My skin color is brown, so I'm not sure if I have what is known as a brown rash. Anyway, my only relief seems to be taking extremely hot showers all over my skin. Nearly scalding hot water seems to have an intense and almost euphoric relief on the itchy areas of my skin and even some of the not so itchy areas as well. This is how I came the the notion that I have eczema as I have read some experiences about people with eczema have had regarding the same exact sensation. So there are two things I would like to know: Do I have eczema? And what are better ways to provide a relief to my itchy scrotum and anus so that I can sleep? (something other than burning my testicles)

I had one ultra violet treatment and it lasted for years. I had that done in AZ. That was about 26 yrs. ago and low and behold about 6 yrs. ago it came back! I was so sad... At first it was just a little on one finger. It came on this spring with a vengeance and I still have it. I get little bumps that itch. When they are rubbed they weep, then peel. When it is bad it cracks. The skin is very dry and draws making the cracking worse and a lot of pain.

I went to the garden several days ago and pulled a batch of BEETS. I cooked them yesterday and when they were done I skinned them the juice was all over my hands. IT FELT GOOD! Overnight the swelling is down and almost healed. I CAN"T BELIEVE it? I peeled potatoes for dinner just a bit ago and the potato juice got on me and started to itch and burn. So! I rubbed a plain cooked beet on my finger. Guess what! Instant relief. Have you ever heard of this before? It isn't totally gone but I sure feel better. The little sores are died a pretty red, but that's okay by me. What is in a beet that has this effect? Would love to know.

<description>[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] Dilesh from New Malden, England, Uk writes: "Hi,

This is my first ever post about my eczema. I have been suffering since 9 and am now 31 years old. Ive seen every kind of doctor, a psychiatrist, chinese herbalist, ayurvedic and a portugese specialist, to no avail. I guess I gave up. Over the last 3 years I have been fighting a real battle, at times wishing I was not alive. However, I have learned there is fundamentally something wrong inside, I tried giving up the steroid creams and using oils like Neem, Tea Tree, Borage, Vit. E and others but, was continually shedding dead skin, and what I thought was meant to happen using oils, only dried my skin out even more and had to deal with waking up in a sea of skin every morning.

Around 3 months ago I stumbled upon Apple Cider Vinegar, and started taking baths, immediately my skin was closing up the wounds and I was on my way, however, it still didnt stop the itching. Great after scratching but, the eczema was not clearing up.

Next step, my diet, now I try to eat only Fresh &amp; Natural, nothing out of a tin, no fruit juices, etc I have learned that Seb Derm on face is caused by fungal and found that mixing ACV and soda bicarb with water and spraying it on then showering gets rid of the fungus

The worst thing about my condition is when my face got all white from skin cells flaking off and dry scales appearing on my face and nothing would take it away. I can only dread what people would think when they saw me.

For the past 2 months I have gone on a very strict diet, of eating fruits in the morning and throughout the day, eating dates, nuts. I do eat canned tuna or sardines as I need the protein for the gym, though have been told to stop this also.

In the morning I drink Aloe Vera and Amla juice mixed with water and before bed.

Also taking Guduchi pills twice a day, however, I researched further and found that taking Vitamin B can help, B3, B5, B6, Biotin, Acidophilus and vitamin D. The main issue with B6 is that it makes me itchy for 20 minutes, though, it is definitely doing something and found that taking the B vitamins allows me to sleep without scratching.

Apart from my skin geting aggravated, it has started to heal. My skin colour, (brown, Im inidan) is coming back. It used to be a mixture of brown, grey from all the steroids and exposure to sunlight.

My only concern now is where I had Seb Derm on my face, which I'm controling by spraying a mixture of ACV and Soda Bicarb. has cleared but have got open open wounds that itch. Im trying to find a way to close them up, and think Zinc may help. Would love to hear what anyone thinks...

Wish everyone keeps strong and its so easy to give up... But, you can control your eczema and by building up your immune system your eczema can remain at bay... Im still fighting and I wont give up.... God Bless you all....

<description>[YEA] Dana from Orlando, Fl writes: "I have been suffering with eczema for 9 months on my hands. It's very painful and embarrassing. This past weekend, I went away to the beach and realized after the third day my hands were healing. I also stopped drinking tap water and started drinking bottled or kangen water. After I arrived home from beach, my hands flared up again after one day so I decided to drive back over to beach and get a gallon of the ocean water and rub on my hands before I go to bed. I have put ocean water on my hand for 5 days now and there are no open cracks or pain in my hands, especially the itching. I wanted to share my story because I am hoping this will help others.

<description>[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] Sidra from Salem, Oregon writes: "Hi - First what a great resource this site is! Thank you so much! I have a question: I've been following EarthClinic for some months now and have found that the cure for candida has worked a near miracle. I had been suffering from it longer than I realized and only discovered how pervasive it was when I developed a persistent rash and eczema that nothing could cure. After 3months on the AVC/BS my eczema is gone, but I've had a troubling side effect from the beginning. My stools have gone from being normal and well-formed to extremely loose, basically passing water. At first I thought it was just part of the detox process, but it persisted. I started with 2 TBS ACV and 1/2 tsp BS in a full gals of water on an empty stomach once a day for 5 days on and 2 days off. I've gradually reduced the formula to 3 tsps. ACV and 1/8 tsp. BS thinking I might be taking too much. Still no change. I should mention I am a small, petite woman 98 - 100 lbs, so I generally reduce dosages recommended to compensate for my smaller size. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

<description>[YEA] Diane from Los Angeles, California Usa writes: "Hello my eczema started out as a tiny patch near my right ankle and grew all the way up a part of my leg! One of my doctors actually thought I had CANCER and even ordered a biopsy! That is how bad it looked. My rash looked swollen and had large pimple bumps on the rash! I tried everything-- every remedy people said had worked on them. Nothing would work. Malibu tan lotion gave me some relief. One doctor gave me

Triamcinolone Acetonide cream USP, 0.1%.

But that would not work either. Finally I took the illness into my own hands. I began placing my foot in the bath tub I tookthe SOFT shower brush got the bar of soap in the soap dish and I rubbed the brush into the bar of soap and I scrubbed the rash with the soap and I left the soap on for about 30 seconds. I rinsed the soap off and dried my skin and placed Vaseline and with the next scrubbing I placed Triamicinolone Acetonide cream after each scrubbing with the bar of soap.

I scrub with the soap a few times a day and alternate with the Triamicinolone cream or the Vaseline. Immediately my rash started to improve! I suppose the soap was killing the bacteria from the skin with the soap scrubbing! Anyway this is what worked for me A GOOD OLD FASHION SOAP SCRUB. Any bar of soap seems to work.

The eczema is about 99 1/2 improved. Only a slight redness remains. I hope this helps someone. I was so frustrated and helpless before I tried this.
