[YEA] Melissa from San Diego, Ca, Usa writes: "Blueberries, especially dried blueberries, will stop diarrhea--if you want to stop it. Sometimes it might be a good idea to purge the offending... Whatever. But other times, if you are suffering travelers' diarrhea, an overdose of Vitamin C, or too much gourmet coffee (which can have 8x the caffeine of regular coffee) a serving of blueberry yogurt, or a blueberry muffin might set you right again.

[YEA] David from Lake Worth, Fl writes: "This stuff is amazing! I did a Google search for something that would stop diarrhea. I've had it for a week and it intensified yesterday for some reason. I had to go every 30 minutes (even waking up from sleep and having to go)! Apple Cider Vinegar, apples, and yogurt would not stop it. I went this morning to The Vitamin Shoppe and picked up their version of Activated Charcoal since many people on this site swear by it. I took it at 9 am. I haven't had to go since. DEFINITELY a keeper for my medicine cabinet! I thank you and so does my toosh!

[YEA] Cecilia from Bournmouth, Uk writes: "I frequently get diarrhea, which has so far been put down to IBS. I often resorted to taking diarrhea pills, but felt I was taking them much too often, and was worried about long-term effects.

Then by chance, I found that whenever I ate boiled potatoes it cleared up quickly. If I make sure that I eat them with a meal every day then I suffer a lot less regularly.

[YEA] Terri from New Port Richey, Fl writes: "I have been using the advice and testimonials from Earth Clinic for years and have used it many times. But, I haven't had ANYTHING work as well or as quickly as ACV for diarrhea!

I have suffered with a horrible stomach virus for 3 days and the diarrhea was getting worse. I tried Immodium which helped, but when it came back, it was with a vengeance.

In desperation I went to my old friend, Earth Clinic for advice. Once again, most yeas were for ACV! Just as others have said, within 15 minutes, the symptoms stopped! I used 2 Tablespoons ACV with the mother and 2 Tablespoons of organic honey mixed in water. It's a bit hard to swallow, but helps if you have a chaser of tea or other liquid.

Once again, yea Earth Clinic!

[YEA] Jennifer from Sunrise, Fl, Usa writes: "I went to Morocco this summer and was not as careful as I should have been about avoiding contact with the water. By the end of the trip, I had a classic case of traveler's diarrhea (caused by the presence of E. Coli in the water). My stomach started to bother me and a few days after I left Morocco, I was experiencing excruciating cramping, had liquid bowel movements about 11-12 times per day, had a burning/queasy feeling in my stomach, had chills, could not eat, and was generally miserable. Every anti-diarrhea medication that I tried or was prescribed (I tried 5) had absolutely NO effect on me. It wasn't too long before my fiance's parents knew ALL about my bowel problems (to my embarassment), so my fiance's mom gave me apple baby food which seemed to help a little. I suffered for another 3 days, and on the final day I had to travel home for over 24 hours, including a 11-hour flight, and with my condition it seemed like it was going to be a disaster.

the trip I looked up remedies on EC and bought some ACV (couldn't buy the kind with the mother, because I was not in the US at the time). I took the ACV about 3 times that day and the cramping and nausea disappeared and the frequency of my bowel movements greatly decreased. When I got back to the US I was able to take some ACV with the mother, took some coconut oil in chai (which contains cinnamon), ate some applesauce with cinnamon, and in one day my problem was completely GONE, finally putting an end to my 10 days of suffering. Thank you EC!!!! And readers, PLEASE do not drink the water in developing countries ;)

N.B.: Coconut oil might have been effective in my case because my diarrhea was caused by a bacterial/parasitic infection, but coconut oil generally has a laxative effect on most people, so use with caution!

[YEA] Janikaye from Bloomington, Mn writes: "The stomach flu ran one by one through every person in our family and it lasted for days. Eventually the throwing up stopped but I still had a terrible case of diarrhea and my stomach was gurgling constantly and full of gas. Very painful--even my ribs ached. So on day number five of this, I took my apple cider vinegar (with the mother). I used 2 Tablespoons mixed with some water. At first I wondered if it was helping, then I realized yes! It's getting somewhat better. The diarrhea stopped and so did all the gurgling. I took a second dose of the ACV before bed and then next morning when I woke up, even the gas was gone. I finally have my life back! I'm very thankful to this website and my friend Jill who told me about it. Praise God! "

[YEA] Janet from Cincinnati, Ohio writes: "I started getting diarrhea during menopause. It would only be after lunch but it happened nearly everyday for a couple of years. I tried eliminating dairy, wheat, fructose, splenda and anything else I thought might be the problem but nothing changed. I tried every home remedy too. Finally I came across a book that said calcium stops chronic diarrhea. I had already been taking calcium but apparently if your calcium has a high dose of magnesium in it, it will only make the problem worse.

When I started taking pills with 600mg of calcium and only 50mg of magnesium it was an answer to my prayers. After the first full day of taking this I have not been bothered with this ailment since. I just make sure that I have one tablet with breakfast and one with lunch and that seems to be sufficient for my situation. I know you're not allowed to say brand names but to make it easy for people what I took was Caltrate 600-D Plus.

[YEA] Aldo from Seoul, South Korea writes: "THE PROBLEM
Last week my wife's sister was visiting us from New Jersey. Somehow she must have eaten something that didn't agree with her and she got Diarrhea. She suffered with it for a couple of hours. Then, finally told us (my wife and I) about it.

WHAT WE DID
I simply said to her, let's try some tumeric. I have seen that work before for diarrhea, maybe it will work for you too.

We mixed half a tsp of tumeric into about a 5 ounce glass of water. I told her to mix it well with the teaspoon and then drink fast as it tends to quickly settle on the bottom.

"It tastes like dirt!" she said. "It isn't that bad!" I retorted with a chuckle. Then she drank about another 3-4 ounces of water as a chaser.

THE RESULTS
About 2 hours later we heard some good news from my sister-in-law. No more diarrhea! She was most impressed (and not to mention relieved!) that a simple herb could help - and fast!

Ok, that's it, just 1/2 a tsp of tumeric and 2 hours later - relief! Hope this info. helps someone else.

Cheers.

P.S. We used organic tumeric in powdered form."

[YEA] Al from Orlando, Fl writes: "Acv cured my upset stomach and diarrhea within 10-15 minutes. I had a couple bouts of borderline explosive diarrhea and felt queasy/weird afterwards. I took about 2 tablespoons of ACV in a cup of cool water and ice. I put a bit of honey in it too to help sweeten (though the water is so cold, it didnt really soak in...). I had a bit of a drinking night last night (whiskey and vodka primarily) and had coffee this morning from freshly roasted beans. Needless to say, that kind of ended badly. Thank god ACV was there to save me.. ! This stuff is great. Be sure to use a straw and make sure you get the straw deep into your mouth so you dont hit your teeth with the vinegar. It's not great for your chompers. The kind of ACV I used was not organic with mother (if you dont know what that means, look it up because it's good to know) and was just taken from the grocery store. I havent tried organic mother ACV yet, but its supposed to have a lot more raw nutrients in it than regular brands. Good luck!"

If you have problems with diarrhea take two cups of whole milk (IT HAS TO BE WHOLE MILK) and boil it to a rolling boil.
