Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes is a chronic and lifelong disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood.
"Diabetes mellitus type 2 formerly non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) or adult-onset diabetes is a metabolic disorder that is characterized by high blood glucose in the context of insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency. Diabetes is often initially managed by increasing exercise and dietary modification. If the condition progresses, medications may be needed." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_2_diabetes

TED'S REMEDIES
12/23/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "What caused diabetes. A response from one of my private emails....
The cause of diabetes is relatively simple: sugar and oil. The cure is also as simple. Now let's discuss the fad diets that works, once you know the true cause, you know that it is an elaboration of those two simple principles.
Some people who tried to cure diabetes go relatively off tangent and tell you that eating raw food works. Yes, it usually works because raw food doesn't entail the use of oils in cooking. But raw food is not the answer because you can end up eating fruit. But some raw food experts say no fruits, so that works too. Then there is the diet called the low glycemic diet, called the South pacific diet that works, unfortunately they don't work all the time and you can still become diabetic, because oils, mostly from vegetable oils just was overlooked. Then there is a Atkin's diet. Eating meats will get your blood sugar down because they don't contain carbs that caused diabetes. But this overlooks the key fact that oils is still used in cooking. The low glycemic diets overlooked the fact that no sugar are alike. Fructose bypasses your insulin, because insulin merely controls blood glucose. So you have a backdoor sugar to damage your system!
As to the reason why oils cause diabetes is relatively simple: oils blocks cellular respiration and CANNOT utilize the sugar in the blood plasma. So you have to have a lot of sugar in your blood plasma to get inside the cells. The cells become more anaerobic and less aerobic, because it blocks cellular respiration. If you put a thin film of oil in a bath tub or aquarium, the fish and the mosquito larva immediately dies, because oil blocks the oxygen needed for life. Oil reduces respiration. Once it is reduced, the body simply cannot burn the sugar, so you end up with excess sugar.
The worse oils are the vegetable oils because they get easily absorbed, contains long chain triglycerides which are very difficult to digest, because they ARE long chain. The coconut oils generally speaking has 50% Medium chain triglycerides and provides a back door energy mechanism called the ketone bodies that cells can burn WITHOUT the sugar. So it is a back door to energy without the use of carbs. It also prevents constipation. Try it, your stools is guaranteed to be soft. And I know this from many clients in ICU or people on long term patient care. It always works. You generally won't need any more laxative, but you still need to be alkalized and get your electrolytes in balanced.
The REASON why I used lecithin is remarkably easy. It emulsifies fat to be water soluble so THAT alone increases cellular respiration and oils no longer in the way and once they are oil are water soluble, the body can get rid of it easier. Sugar are burned more easier if there is enough cellular respiration. Oils blocks hormone signals that tells the cell what to do. If they got nothing to do, because they receive no signals, they cannot burn the sugar.

That might explain why when I eat these type of food in large quantities, I usually never experience and real craving for sugar between meals. Can this in the long run be a cure against diabetes ? Thanks"

03/06/2011: Ti from Houston, Tx, Usa replies: "I succesffuly used green veggie juice every morning (1 pint daily) to lower my blood sugar levels.
Juice organic
1 big cucumber
1 entire stalk celery
handful parsley
1/2 inch cube ginger
1/2 juice of lemon
Drink freshly squeezed juice with 1 tablespoon flax oil and notice how your sugar levels balance out within 2-3 months.
Do this juicing at 4pm if you would like to maintain a balanced sugar level through the day, but it is essential to have this first thing in the morning everyday to manage stable insulin levels.
Hope this helps."

I was diagnosed yesterday by my doctor with Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure. My Dr. put me on Metformin, 500 mg, 2 x a day... Can I still take the ACV in water while I'm on this medicine?
I'm not sure what my A1C test result was, but when they first tested my blood sugar it was over 600. Forty five minutes later, they restuck me and it had dropped to 411. (Still hella high! ) This morning, I tested my BS (before breakfast) and it was down to 310. Anyway, would love to know if I can take the ACV in water while I'm on the Metformin... Thanks in advance for any answers! :)"
01/08/2012: Koi from Sofia, Bg replies: "Hi Kimmi, if you follow this raw juice formula that Ti from Houston gave above, you will feel a total change in short time. Just avoid all kind of oils, exept the coconut oil. Reishi mushroom on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and last in the evening can be also very helpful. Hope this can help."

You would truly be amazed as I was that becoming vegan can cure diabetes. Get the book "The China Study" it will blow your socks off!!! Studies after studies on vegan diet (NO DAIRY PRODUCTS & NO MEATS PRODUCTS) It can reverse diabetes, heart disease and much much more. You can pick up the book on Amazon for like $10 or something reasonable..... I guess that expression, "you are what you eat" is true. I've been doing it for going on 7 wks and I've lost about 13 lbs so far and feel much more energized and healthier all around. Other books, Forks over Knives, Digestive Tune Up, and Veganist. I promise you you won't regret it. Just change you eating habits and you'll understand more when you read some books. If you pick any books, pick "The China Study" that has the most studies and results for cancer, diabetes, heary disease, alzheimers, arthritis, high cholesterol, high blood pressure all by changing your diet...... WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE, BUT TO GET CURED!!!"

Iodine is also worth looking into, Jorge D. Flechas, M.D. found that iodine is helpful in diabetes. http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/IOD-10/IOD_10.htmCheck out ECs diabetes page as there is good info there including Ted's recomendations. Personally I think starting off with low doses of iodine (1 drop) and ACV (1 teaspoon) is best and build up. This way you can avoid any sudden elimination reactions. All the best."

This conficts with the health promotions of the paleo or atkins diet which is high in meat, low carb consumption...
I prefer to cross reference the best of all these diets and not hold onto any one in absolute... So heading towards a paleo diet of fresh raw ingredients, though with little red meat, preferring high omega fish such as wild salmon or sardines... Still nothing wrong with the occasional potato (baked) or a bowl of brown rice or steel cut oatmeal. 08/22/2011: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "The latest on type 2. Diabetes, is that if the calorific intake is dropped to 500 calories a day for 8 weeks. The fat that surrounds the Pancreas disolves and the insulin producing cells wake up ant start producing insulin. Even that is dietry.. The advisory stated that it should be done under medical supervision. But this is only for type 2.. Type one is hereditary. It also advised plenty of green leafy vegies like brocoli and chard.... which smacks of the Paleo diet where 4 kilos of vegies must be consumed everday."

Just imagine 4 kg of tomatos.... If it is beetroots for example it is easier because they are heavier but who on earth is going to be able to eat 4 kg a day? We eat vegetables every day but I think that maybe we buy 4kg a week for the two of us.By the way, yesterday we were having a chat with a guy who has a marvellous vegetable patch (we live in the countryside). We often stop there and talk to him. He was carrying a big bucket of string beans and all of a sudden decided to give the whole thing to us. Heavy to carry home..... We will try to eat as much as we can and my husband is going to take a big bag to the office. This evening we will go for our walk again and will leave the bucket there with a bottle of wine inside. We will also take a bag to pick apples and whatever fruit we find in the fields as they let everything rot on the ground, tons of untreated fruit......"
08/23/2011: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "Yes 4 kilos a day.. It was a very interesting documentary. About six people were all picked for high blood pressure high sugar, high cholesterol etc. They were all very close to serious problems. All returned normal readings in ten days. It was called the Monkey diet in the documentary.. Flatulence was reported on the diet.As a by line.. I just read WD40.. The lubricant has nothing harmefull in it.. It has been reported by the Chaplain of a Texas corectional intstitution, that the inmates spray it on aching body parts and the pain goes within minutes. Who would have guessed. It was the 40th formula for a water displacement spray for missile parts hence WD40.. Who would have guessed. I'd better shut up I'm posting to much lol."

On July 18, 2002 I went into a diabetic coma and my BS was 1171. By the grace and mercy of God and the Doctors I survived. I have been on insulin for nine years. On June 19, 2011 I started drinking 2 glasses of water, 12 oz each with one tablespoon of acv, I sip it with a straw during the day. As the days went by I started feeling better and within weeks I noticed I had to use less insulin. Now, instead of taking 3 to 4 units of humilin I only need one with my breakfast of egg and toast. In the last few days, this being July 23, I realize I need less of my night time insulin--lantus.
My BS dropped to 54 last night and I had to drink a regular soda pop to bring up my BS. This morning my BS was 129. On July 29th I have a Doctor's appointment to get my A1C test. I will write back and let you know the results. My last A1C was 7.1. I am feeling like my old self and have more energy and a better attitude. I will be 67 years old in Sept.
God Bless Earth Clinic for this site and all of you who have contributed your thoughts, ideas, questions and replies. One more thing, I have been oil pulling since March 11, 2011 after my daughter told me she was doing it. I use organic coconut oil. I have not missed one morning of oil pullling. 2. Walk one hour per day 7 days per week.
3. Only drink water stop all other liquids especially coffee, green tea, black tea, chai tea, lipton ice tea, red tea, white tea, mate`, energy drinks, all soda's, no flesh at all consider becoming a vegan veggitarian because there is a chemical in all flesh items that causes high blood pressure the name of the chemical is "hypoxanthine" it acts like caffeine and thus increases the blood pressure.
4. No spices or condiments also here is the list ( all hot sauces and peppers including cayenne, no ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, black or white peppers, no ketchup, no mustard, no mayo, no items that contains vinegar(especially all of your commercial dressings), as well as no fermented items, no alcohol, no smoking, no tobacco chewing and like items). Herbal items that can be used take 2 garlinase garlic tablets 3 times daily with meals.
Finally, it take about 3 weeks to see the first drop in your blood pressure then in about 7-9 weeks later the other drop however dont worry follow the outline it works like a charm."

Prior to using the information I found on this site about ACV my fasting blood sugar were running about 250 to 290 even though I didn't eat anything after 8 pm. I don't drink sodas, no white flour, use stevia, eat lots of veggies, chicken and fish. I started off with 2 TSP. ACV in vegetable juice before I went to bed and noticed an immediate drop the next morning. I am also on metformin 1000 AM and PM and actos 45 in AM. I've increased my ACV to 2 TBS twice a day in vegetable juice as my morning drink and evening "cocktail" and 2 TBS added to a liter of water which I drink at work. I've been trying to reduce my prescription med but it seems my numbers increase slightly when I do that so I'll just leave well enough alone right now. This morning my FBS was 114. Also, before this I also suffered from hypglecemic seizures. I'd be feeling alright, start to feel a little off kilter and then wake up on the floor or in the ER. Fortunately this never happened while I was driving but I gave up riding my motorcycle this year because I was so afraid I'd have an episode while on my bike. Since I've started taking the ACV I've been able to feel the physical effects of my blood sugar dropping and take steps to bring it back up. I've also notice a slight improvement in my eyesight. This website has literally saved my life. Thank you so much"
Replies10/14/2009: Arturo from San Jose, Ca replies: ""Chinese herbs show promise for diabetes prevention"http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSTRE59D31Y20091014
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A number of traditional Chinese herbs may help control blood sugar levels in people at high risk of diabetes, a new research review suggests. The review, which examined 16 clinical trials of 15 different herbal formulations, found that the herbs generally helped lower blood sugar levels in people with "pre-diabetes" -- those with impaired blood-sugar control that can progress to full-blown type 2 diabetes.
When the researchers pooled data from eight of the studies, they found that adding an herbal remedy to lifestyle changes doubled the likelihood of participants' blood sugar levels returning to normal.
What's more, people using the remedies were two-thirds less likely to progress to diabetes during the studies, which ran for an average of nine months.
The findings appear in the Cochrane Library, which is published by the Cochrane Collaboration, an international organization that evaluates medical research.
The results, say the researchers, are "quite promising." However, they also stress that the studies had shortcomings in their methods that make it hard to draw firm conclusions.
"There are a lot of herbal medicine products on the shelves, but few have been subjected to a rigorous trial," lead researcher Suzanne J. Grant, of the Center for Complementary Medicine Research at the University of Western Sydney, in Australia, told Reuters Health in an email.
Many of the trials her team examined, she explained, had a "high risk of bias" that can overestimate the effects of the treatments.
The gold standard for proving a treatment's efficacy is a clinical trial where participants are randomly assigned to receive either the real treatment or a placebo, with both the researchers and participants unaware of who is taking the real drug.
Grant's team found that those processes were often absent or not clearly detailed in the trials they reviewed.
So, she said, there is still a need for more rigorous trials before any herbal product can be recommended for diabetes prevention. The studies included a total of 1,391 men and women with either impaired glucose tolerance or impaired fasting glucose -- problems in blood-sugar control that lead to sugar levels that are elevated, but not high enough to diagnose diabetes.
The studies tested various Chinese herbal mixes traditionally used for blood-sugar control -- products like Jiangtang Bushen, Xiaoke huaya and Tang Kang yin.
In most trials, the products were added to lifestyle changes and tested against the effects of lifestyle changes alone -- though the specific changes were not detailed in most reports.
Grant suggested that if people with pre-diabetes do want to try an herbal product, they first consult their doctor and, ideally, take any herbs under a guidance of a health provider qualified in herbal medicine.
She pointed out that in traditional Chinese medicine, herbs are recommended based on individuals' unique situations, and not as a one-size-fits-all prescription.
As far as safety, the review found no serious side effects attributed to the herbal products. However, Grant noted, like all medicines, herbs have the potential for unexpected side effects or interactions with other drugs.

He did complain of heart burn after drinking it. I told him that sometimes symptoms get worse before they get better. I will update and let you all know how it turns out for him.
My Mother-in-law also wants to try it for weight loss, back and joint pain and menopause symptoms. She's very excited to give it a try. She called her sister who suffers with Gout and told her about it too.
Natural remedies may work for some and not others but I think mind over matter has a lot to do with healing as well. So with the aid of home remedies and positive thinking you just might be cured of what ails you. Many Blessings too all! = )"

It has helped to keep blood glucose levels in a normal range for someone who does not have diabetes, for example. However, it works best in this case in combination with the current medicine for type 2 diabetes. It was taken without taking medicine but the glucose levels were a little too high, however, again, in this case it works perfect in combination with current medicine for type 2 diabetes. It is taken once in the morning and once at night, each dosage the same amount. Two tablespoons of liquid apple cider vinegar with anywhere from half a cup to a full cup of water. Though it is now taken with crystal light/koolaid instead of water because it helps the flavor a lot. It does not taste bad at all. Hope this helps."
Replies03/31/2009: MannaCandace from Phoenix, AZ replies: "READ what is in Crystal Light (Crystal Light is usually sweetened with aspartame) and how bad aspartame is for you."
04/02/2009: Shel from Eugene, OR replies: "I am amazed at how few people are aware of the existence and benefits of Stevia. I am a blood type O and don't like vinegar or anything pickled, etc., so I was leery of drinking ACV. I just add a few drops of lemon liquid Stevia and it makes a refreshing, entirely tolerable drink. Add to that, Stevia is good for you and very easy to become accustomed to. I'm a sugarholic and never could stand any artificial sweeteners (maybe because they're all poison??) but I adjusted to Stevia in no time. The flavored liquids are good for absolutely everything and the powder is wonderful for baking."
04/06/2009: Brian from Barrie, Ontario Canada replies: "Yes, aspartame is an ACCUMULATIVE toxin, if you need something sweet to take the edge of of the ACV, use an organic fruit juice or Stevia, Agava nectar etc."

I'm a type 2 diabetic and I must say that I feel a lot better since taking it, my monthly cycle has changed to a more normal cyle. It used to be very heavy the first two days...no more.
I also started the pulling oil...that too is great. My mouth feels so clean all day. Just started it so I haven't really seen anything major, but I will report back. Thanks Earthclinic."
Replies[YEA] 05/28/2011: Serafin from Covina, California, los Angeles County replies: "I agree with you on oil pulling, its just very sad that when I discovered oil pulling my dentist almost pulled out most of my teeth, but for those who got problems with Gums and still have a lot of teeth I would suggest oil pulling for at least 20 minutes( gurgle for 20 minutes) in the morning and you will never have cavities and soft gums at all. And for those who have ulcer take 2 teaspoon of VCO (virgin coconut oil) and within two weeks you can see a big difference you will be completely cured, no relapse"

[SIDE EFFECTS] 08/25/2008: Dianna from Austin, TX writes: "i started to take the ACV in the morning and afternoon for my diabetes. and it really worked well (sometimes too well) to lower my blood sugar. also my head felt clearer and i just felt good. BUT - for some reason it gave me very bad gas and bloating. i tried various ways of taking it - with BS and without - before a meal, during, afterwards, to no avail - for the entire 2 weeks i tried it i had a very bloated tummy and gas so bad i could not sleep. also i was using it on my skin. during this time i developed a lot of huge pimples and noticed that i was getting a yellowish tint to my skin. so i stopped taking the ACV and it took several days for the gas and bloating to go away. now i am using the lime juice remedy without any gas or side effects. oh well, i really liked the idea of the ACV - but for some reason my body doesn't like it.
Dianna"
11/20/2008: Sharrieff from Atlanta, GA replies: "Diana from Austin, TX writes about the side effects of ACV. My comment is that most likely the issues that you brought up are the result of the ACV pushing toxins out of your body. When you stop taking the ACV, the toxins stop releasing, however they are still in your body. Perhaps you could take it three days a month until you detox your body."
12/31/2008: Dianna from Austin, Tx replies: "thanks for your feedback! i'm taking the ACV again - but this time VERY diluted - 1/3 a teaspoon in a liter of water 2 or 3 x a day. i know that is a lot of water - but at this strength i don't get the bloating and it is lowering my blood sugar and i feel that it is doing something - maybe i will be able to work up to a stronger dose eventually.
also, at this level it doesn't cause me teeth to be sensitive as it was before.
btw - do you think that 1/3 a teaspoon in a liter of water is still bad to be drinking for several hours a day on your teeth enamel? i can hardly taste the vinegar - but it seems to be helping in other ways."
11/11/2010: Pattys from Houston, Texas replies: "I heard that ACV will deteriorate the tooth enamel and that if you use a straw the ACV won't get on your teeth too much. Also rinsing your mouth out after the drink may help some."

I read the positive feedback on avc for diabetes, i take metformin and actos and it does not do nothing -- one metformin day and night and actos in the middle-- i can not see any diff for me on avc i do the 1 tsp in half glass of water morn and night or with meals and it shows no change with my diabetes 2. any suggestions i am open too"
Replies07/15/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Nikhowad53: I have never taken apple cider vinegar (ACV) for diabetes, but I think you might increase up to l tablespoon in full glass of water 3 x per day before giving up on it."
[YEA] 07/17/2008: Sherri from St.Louis, Missouri replies: "ACV for diabetes. I take 2 tablets of metformin in the morning accompanied by 1 actos..also hyzzar for B/P. In the evening I again take another metformin. Now.. Per each meal I take two tablspoons of ACV Braggs organic unfiltered ACV, with a 1/4 cup of very cold water. Do this for at least two weeks straight before you start testing your sugar two hours later.. it will perform the extraodinary. My sugar levels on the average are extremely high, but this has helped immensely in lowering my numbers. You must continue to be faithful in your diet and at least test your sugars early in the morning and or in the evening.. For testing of the ACV, make sure to test two hours later but give the vinegar a chance to get into your system and detoxify your body.. It will help lower your sugars but don't do an over kill on the eating and expect miracles. If your a diabetic, you must learn to eat right and take care of yourself.. Good luck. Sherri"

[NAY] 07/02/2008: Janet from St. Andrews, FL writes: "I am very bummed out. I have diabetes and after reading of all the wonderful success that others have had, I started using the ACV. I take 2 TBS in 8 oz. of water 3x a day. (I am also on the prescription drug Metformin 500mg 2x a day for the diabetes). Anyway, I haven't seen any difference in my blood sugar readings nor in my BP readings. I have even switched to an organic ACV. Now in some ways, I am feeling better-more energetic and less nasal congestion, but why am I not seeing improvement for the diabetes or BP? It has me feeling truly sad.
Thank you for any advice."

I was unable to put my foot on the ground and apply any body weight too it.I tried everything;anti-inflammatories, etc. I even bought $400.00 pair of shoes. I was desperate. I started taking apple cider vinegar and within two days major relief. I am typeII diabetic. I can only assume I was very acidic and the vinegar countered that. I was taking vitamin c awhile ago but stopped for some reason. with the vinegar I also have more energy. I have not tested my sugars but feel 100% better."
Replies07/30/2008: Davey D from Victoria, British Columbia Canada replies: "Re: Dr Koldaire type11 diabetic, not able to put pressure on his left foot. It's a good thing that the ACV worked for you but I don't believe the ACV brought down your acidic levels because it is acidic, it may have been the baking soda. Davey D."
03/31/2009: Linda from N. Massapequa, NY replies: "ACV is an acid while outside the body but is alkaline in the body. If you ever have heartburn or indigestion, take some ACV in water, instant relief."
[YEA] 11/16/2009: J.j. from Private, California Usa replies: "It worked to heal me of my swollen and sore feet too. One especially stayed swollen, and I had this problem for two years. After trying apple cider vinegar it was gone within 3 days. I have to stay on the acv, which is fine with me. With it I have not needed anti-inflammatories, and get better relief. I take 3-4 tbs every 3-4 hours when awake, for best results. Eventually I expect less will suffice. Everything is better, I have a great deal more energy, and I just feel better."

[YEA] 10/20/2007: TIM from Winnipeg, Manitoba writes: "I am a Type II Diabetic and I am 43 years old. I have been of Medication for 3 years now and I am managing my Diabetes by eating a healthy diet and exercise. I am writing to commend you folks and tell you that Apple Cider Vinegar works wonders in terms of controlling my blood sugar levels, its amazing. As awful as it tastes the benefits are truly amazing. Start of with 1 teaspoon and record the results and take as many times as needed otherwise you may lower you blood sugar levels to low."
Replies12/31/2008: Dianna from Austin, Tx replies: "i sure do agree that if you are diabetic that you need to start slowly with the ACV. when i first started using it i used 1 tablespoon and it lowered my blood sugar to 40 by the afternoon. i actually lowered my dose and even at 1 teaspoon it was lowering my blood sugar too much. i am on insulin and i suspect that if i could handle 1 tablespoon or 2 of ACV that i could actually manage to get off insulin. i had to lower my insulin dose - but at the 1 tablespoon or even 1 teaspoon dose - it gave me bad gas and bloating and i ended up stopping and using lime juice instead. the lime juice also has drastic blood sugar lowering properties - but since the ACV made me feel better everywhere except my bloating and gas - i am now using it again in much smaller doses - 1/3 teaspoon mixed with a liter of water 2 or 3 x a day. this is still lowering my blood sugar but does not make my teeth sensitive or give me gas. just be careful not to take too much ACV too fast!!! it is amazing stuff!!!"
03/31/2009: Dave from Friend, Ne. USA replies: "I am taking approx. 1tsp blackstrap mol. and 2tsp. of acv 2x's a day. for a month. I recently had my blood sugar done and it is @ 135. I do not know what it was before all of this but, will the molassas be affecting my blood sugar levels?
Do I need to take more acv for the higher blood sugar levels? I weigh about 250, and I know I am over-weight, actually probably obesse. no exercise to speak of . Any advice would be very appericated. Thanks a lot Isn't this site just the "BOMB"?"
04/14/2009: Angela from Memphis, Tennessee replies: "Angela replies to Dave (nickelandsons@yahoo.com) from Friend, Ne. USA, yes Dave the blackstrap molasses is keeping your bloodsugar up. And you are killing yourself not exercising. Start our walking only 5-10 minutes for a week, then add 2-5 minutes each week until you gradually work up to 45 minutes to an hour a day. Then gradually start a VERY slow jog for a minute or two each day of your walking time slowly increasing that like you did the walking. You should also start some form of limbering exercise and some very light weight lifting likewise gradually increasing the difficulty of them. Get yourself a copy of Dr. Gabriel Cousens book, "There is a Cure for Diabetes" and go on the diet. You could also start taking chromium picolinate and a b complex supplement. This is your life you are risking not taking care of yourself. My husband weighed 275 and had astronomically high blood sugar levels. He is now 215 pounds and is in normal blood sugar ranges. He does all of the above along with some additional supplements you will learn about if you read the above book. Hope this helps."
04/15/2009: ROBERT HENRY from TEN MILE, TN replies: "It is not the sugar in Black Strap Molassas that causes problems for diabetics. It is the iron. The iron will mess your glucose up for weeks. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Been there, done that."
04/15/2009: Dianna from Austin, TX replies: "wow! good to see someone else say this! i am a diabetic on insulin and i had a very bad reaction to only 1 teaspoon of organic blackstrap molasses in a cup of tea! it took me a week or so to get my blood sugar to go down to normal! i couldn't believe that the molasses did it - so i tried it again! same reaction! i was thinking maybe it was the naturally occuring sulfates or the iron.
BUT - i have since found that i CAN use molasses if i use 1/2 a teaspoon mixed in a smoothie! i don't know why this is - but maybe it is because i have so many other ingredients in my smoothies that my body sees the molasses differently. before this i noticed that i could eat molasses in whole wheat cookies and so decided to try it in my smoothies. i am still amazed that i can eat it at all!"
04/15/2009: Dianna from Austin, Tx replies: "for dave:
135 is not high blood sugar - esp. if you have just eaten. like another poster wrote if you will just start walking it will go back to normal. this is a good time to nip it in the bud! start exercising NOW!"
05/17/2009: Dave from Friend, Ne replies: "Thanks for all the advice....I am walking so I will keep you all posted....We can do this together"

I found your site and started taking ACV hoping for relief from arthritis pain (2 tbs 3x a day mixed with apple juice). The first 3 days were rough, I felt pretty bad. Then I started feeling better. Not only has ACV helped ease the arthritis pain, but it has also lowered my blood pressure and my blood sugar levels have also dropped! My average was 135 and it is now 108! I've even lost some weight! I feel like I have a new found energy and my sleep patterns have improved! I don't have food cravings anymore and my complexion looks great too. I can't say enough about how ACV has helped me. I have told several of my friends about this site. They too are having success with many of the remedies posted here. May I also say that I started Black Strap Molasses at the same time (1 tbs once a day with 5 oz milk). My period was very heavy with lots of large clots and lasted for almost 2 weeks. I was always weak and light-headed during my period. I am happy to report that my last period was only 7 days! The first 3 days were still heavy but it tapered off to normal. The light-headed feeling is gone too. I am so glad I found this website. I feel like I am becoming the person I used to be when I was younger and I am very happy with the changes."

Sugars still hitting average of mid-300's all the time, day and night, A1C well over 8. BP about 145/90, cholesterol low 200's. Started raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with "the mother" couple of months ago. Unbelieveable. With absolutely no other changes, sugars hover about 100, A1C 6.0, BP 122/80, cholesterol 122. No more joint pain- I quit my daily dose of 2 Aleve tabs. Now I'll begin backing off insulin and other meds to see if I can maintain the good numbers. I am dumbfounded by this, and people think I'm nuts. My doctor is absolutely ecstatic. I use a "shot" of the ACV (I use _______s) in about 6 ounces of ice cold purified water morning and evening. (Make sure you mix the bottle well before pouring, to blend in the sediment on the bottom of the jar)"
