[YEA]  09/29/2011: Lori from Newport, Ri writes: "This has always been my standby for quick relief of contact dermatitis, especially those lttle bumps on the face: Using a mortar and pestle, grind plain old fashioned oats to a fine powder; Mix with enough very warm filterd water to form a paste and apply gently to damp skin that has been washed in a mild fragrance -free cleanser. (Apply after rinsing). Let dry for about a half an hour. Rinse with tepid then cool water and pat dry. Use a mild moisturizer only around eyes and lip balm. At bedtime, rinse with warm then cool water and apply light, fragrance-free moisturizer. Never use a facecloth and soap on face or dry with a towel that has had fabric softener added. Good luck."

[YEA]  11/24/2008: Karie from Boca Raton, FL writes: "I work in a Salon for 13 years and I got Contact Drematitis I tried everything even the Apple Cider Vinager. I finally talked to one of my customers and he referred me to a Product Under Perscription Only. The Cream was called Elcon Cream. It took it away in 2 days. I was shocked, I had tried everything for 1 month. I have some left over and now I use it when needed. You have to make sure the you clean the site where the rashes are with Antiseptic Wash every time you put on the cream. I wanted to let everyone know what worked for me. I know how bad it can itch and Hurt. I hope you take my advice. Karie, FL"

01/30/2012: Erica from Mclean, Va writes: "Hi. I looked through your site for cures on dermatitis but everyone seems to talk about POD or PD. I think my case of dermatitis is different. I don't have any red flaky patches on my face or anywhere on my body. I just itch like crazy. My docs said there is no cure and the only thing I can do is take an Allegra daily and a Benadryl at night. It works, but I don't want to be on either of these medicines everyday for the rest of my life. I know it has to be a natural cure somewhere. Do you gave ant suggestions?"

I came across some interesting articles which said that phosphate is added to most processed foods these days (especially to wheat) and even in vegetables and dish washing liquid. Even though the body needs it, it is now getting too much. Many people have had huge success going dairy/gluten free. I think phosphate is the key. The farmers feed to the cows and put it on their fields. Here is a good website for info.

08/02/2011: Shahin25 from Chicago, Illinois, Usa writes: "Have pinkness around my mouth due to PD I am trying to minimize it. It was really red & is getting better, but are there any remedies that work especially well for helping all the redness & pinkness disappear until my true skin color appears? I am extremely pale so it has been hard to get to my natural color."

03/27/2011: Heidi from Montrose, Co writes: "I was diagnosed as having PD last August while pregnant. I was given a sulpher based cleanser and Desonide lotion by my Dermatologist and told to use both daily until the rash cleared, and then as needed for spots. Well, the rash never went away, and I continued to use both products daily until last week. I didn't realize that Desonide was a steroid, just knew it was for the inflammation. So my son is now almost 3 months old and I decided to stop using both products and find something else to get rid of the rash on either side of my nose.

Within 1 day of stopping, my face is completely covered in the rash, all around my mouth, both eyes, eyebrows and nose. My face feels like it's on fire, and my eyes feel as though it's actually in my eyes themselves. I have been trying ACV, both drinking it and applying it directly, but so far each day has been worse and worse. I went to my normal doctor and he prescribed erythromiacin for me as I am still nursing, and I am on day 2 of that. So far today has been the worst day, my entire face is bright red, tight and burning. I tend to have very sensitive skin anyway, so I suppose I'm reacting quite violently. My doctor told me I definitely have 'steroid rebound', but I am not using any more topical steroids to mitigate it, I just want off this viscious cycle! I'll keep with the ACV while I do the oral antibiotics to see how it goes. Right now I literally don't feel like I can leave my house, it is painful and hard to focus on anything but the rash. I'm so grateful to have found this website, at least to get some new ideas. I'll post again to update, but right now nothing seems to be working."

11/05/2010: Annab from London, Uk writes: "I'm a 32 year old female & have had PD for 5yrs now. It comes and goes and I've been on lymacycline on and off for about 3yrs which def seems to help, but isnt curing it. At the min I keep getting lots of little pupsicles (pus) coming out the 2 corners below my mouth, some days it clear but yesterday 8 appeared, and always the same area. I want to come off the medication and try something else as obv the problem is still lying dormant. I'm worried about trying ACV and Yogurt in case it makes it worst because my case is quite mild however these pus spots that come out and the redness crushes my confidence so much and makes me feel ugly. Its really quite distressing and def has a big impact on my quality of life. I would really appreciate any recent advice/posts of cure as been reading the posts as most posts are quite old. Many thanks. Anna"

I applied some GSE to the area at night for a week and the dermatitis was greatly reduced. It's been 2 months and I haven't had it come back yet. Yay!"
11/11/2010: Annab from London, Uk replies: "Hi, thanks for your help. I tried buying it today from our local health shop but they didnt have any in stock, and said they normally only sell the supplements which I'm assuming is not the right thing. How do I apply this, do I need to dilute etc. In the past few days it seems to be getting worst, and the redness is back, it looks like a bad nappy rash but on my face. Not good :("
12/13/2010: Katie44 from Akron, Ohio, Usa replies: "I had perioral dermatitis last year for a few months. I was given a topical antibiotic from my Dr. which eventually did work, but caused some skin issues elsewhere! Finally got rid of those by taking flax oil and turmeric pills. Just the other day I noticed some signs of it returning after over a year. I tried something I already had in the house-Burt's Bees parsley blemish stick. It's natural and has tea tree oil, calendula extract, borage, parsley, etc. 2 days later-skin is all clear! This may not help a severe case of perioral dermatitis, but would be worth a try."

It's not working, and it is coming back even stronger. How can we help her that is safe and won't burn, scar her face?
Thanks, Kim"

[YEA]  10/06/2010: Lisa from Tel Aviv, Israel replies: "Before you try more cures, see if eliminating something can help. For years I had redness around my nose. I twice had perioral dermatitis for a while. Over the last year I removed all processed foods completely. I only eat foods I make from scratch. I don't touch margarine or vegetable oils (except olive). I eat very little wheat, and what I do eat is sourdough bakery bread, which is much healthier. Not the "healthy" bread you get in supermarkets. I started taking a tsp. of apple cider vinegar in water once a day and I oil pull once a day, thanks to information I read on earth clinic. I can't tell you what caused the redness to go away, but it's gone, and so are my blackheads. My skin is generally better. I ascribe the change to not ingesting chemicals with my food, but I can't be sure. Hope that helps!"
10/06/2010: Zsaqwe from Brownsville, Texas replies: "I had dermatitis for many years. I already posted how I am 3 years free from it. My face was already hooked on corticoides creams. And still it worked. I am thinking your doughtier is a baby and probably you will have to find the way to treat her with no pain. I applied every night ACV with the mother and then seal it with aloe Vera. It was painful. If she scratches her face, because it stings you will need to work on that first. After stumbling in earth clinic. I started to drink it. Like they advice and I noticed a change in all the skin from the scalp to the toes. My skin is soft like when you apply expensive creams. No more dandruff, arm pit smells or feet smells. I don't use deodorant or special shampoos any more, no creams. Milk of magnesia is a very good deodorant. It will hurt only in the beginning, I think after a week, no more pain. I hope you can find the cure in here. I never could find it with all the creams I use during more than 10 years."

[YEA]  11/18/2006: Celene from West Springfield, MA writes: "I tried using a teaspoon of table salt, mixed with a little warm water to form a paste. I appled it to the side of my nose (where the crease is) because i have a very itchy patch of skin there that I can't seem to stop scratching! Putting salt on itchy skin works! It breaks the scratch/itch cycle, but eating garlic everyday will help also!"

VINEGAR AND OLIVE OIL

[YEA]  05/09/2007: Tom from Sunnyvale, CA writes: "vinegar and olive oil Ailment: psoriasis

When I was in elementary school, I had psoriasis on my elbows and knees, and all over the side of my face! It got behind my ears so bad I used to dream that my ears were falling off.

None of the doctor's remedies helped. Then my parents found this old home-remedy book from around the 1700s. It had what I call the salad dressing cure.

You soak the affected skin with vinegar for a few minutes, then you cover it with warmed olive oil (make sure it isn't too hot).

It got so I hated vinegar for years because of the smell (I think Apple Cider Vinegar would have been much more bearable), but it worked! The psoriasis went completely away, and I no longer felt like a freak at school.

Every few years I'll get a tiny patch on my knee or elbow. If it bothers me I'll use the treatment and it will go away."

Regarding Psoriasis: A guy who works with me told me his mother cured her 30 years old Psoriasis with TAMANU OIL. She's psoriasis free for a few years already. He himself cured Psoriasis on its first show-up with the same oil.

Search it on the web. It's worth trying."
