Put it is bed near the face of the sufferer and it will stop the coughing within minutes. If the sufferer is awake, tie the bag around the neck and lie down on the couch with eyes closed. I thank God for the wonderful herbs He gives us to help our sicknesses!"

RAW UNCOOKED UNFILTERED HONEY

[YEA] 03/12/2006: Larry from RANCHO CORDOVA CA writes: "I USED RAW UNCOOKED UNFILTERED HONEY ON A WATERED DOWN COTTON SWAB AS FAR BACK AS POSSIBLE IN EACH NOSTRIL. ALLELUYA!!I AM A 51 YEAR OLD MALE AND GET A YEARLY COUGH DURING THE WINTER MONTHS THAT CAN LAST 1 TO 3 WEEKS. SOMETIMES IT IS BACTERIAL WITH GREENIES AT THE START BUT MOST OF THE DURATION AFTER THAT IS JUST THE CLEAR SINUS DRANAGE THAT GOES ON FOR DAYS AFTER AND SOME MAY BE DUE TO ALLERGIES OF SPRING. THIS COUGH IS THE KIND THAT IS MOST SEVERE IN THE NIGHTIME HOURS. THE LOGIC I USED IS THAT THE COUGH WAS MORE OF A GAG REFLEX FROM THE NASAL DRIP AND I THOUGHT IF I GOOD CHANGE THE CHEMISTRY OF THE NASAL DRIP CLOSER TO THE SOURCE BEFOR IT REACHED MY THROAT IT MAY WORK PLUS THE AROMATIC QUALITIES BEING AS CLOSE TO THE SOURCE MAY HELP. I ALSO WANTED SOMETHING THAT WOULD LAST . I FIGURED IT IS ALMOST AS THICK AS VICK'S VAPO RUB SO VHALA MIRACULOUS DISCOVERY. THE NIGHT I USED A SMALL AMOUNT IT LASTED ABOUT 2-3 HOURS SO I GOT UP AND PUT MORE ON THE SECOND DOSE. THE 2ND-3RD NIGHT I USED A HEALTHY SIZE SWAB DOSE AT 10-30PM AND SLEPT TILL 6AM BY THE FOURTH DAY I STOPPED AND THE COUGH WAS GONE. UNREAL!!!!!!! AT FIRST APPOX 5-10 MINUTES IT FEELS SLIGHTLY IRRATIBLE BUT NO MORE THAN WATER FROM A SWIMMING POOL GOING UP YOUR NOSE. IT WORKED FOR ME BUT I AM NOT RECOMENDING IT TO ANYONE, BUT PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU TRY IT LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKED: TUNAMAN40@AOL. BEST OF HEALTH TO ALL"

REMEDIES NEEDED
Ratings:
|
12/19/2011: Rebel from Somewhere, Usa writes: "So my whole family got sick and I always use natural remedies. But this time nothing worked for my 6 year old son. He coughed to the point that I thought he was going to blow a lung and he even threw up a couple of times cough was so bad. I tried honey, cough drops, cool mist vaporizor, vicks on chest soles of feet, every over the counter cough syrup . NOTHING and I mean nothing would work.
THIS PART IS IMPORTANT!!! Medical doctors no longer prescribe cough meds for children and the over the counter ones was worthless. I have got about six different kinds in my cabinet. My child was coughing to the point of being blue in the face. After talking to doc to no avail and every pharmacy in town to know avail. I took to the internet and found since NO PRESCIPTION FOR COUGH was availiable anymore. That children need breathing treatments and steroids.
Now check this out! Yea, I do all the work and research to get my child help. Then I have to take him back to med doc and tell him what I researced and pay him $50.00 for a visit and get prescription written. My son not even 24 hours on breathing treatment and steroids is a lot better already. At least 40% better. Seems INFLAMMATION is the root of all of this coughing mess. And breathing treatment soothes the bronchial tubes and steroids reduce swelling to allow mucus ( Post nasal drip ) not to be as irritating to the throat.
Now I looked high and low on here and every other natural remedy website and could not find a cure for this chronic cough. I LOVE EARTHCLINIC and have used many of these remedies with sucess. But there was not much info on here about SWELLING and INFLAMMATION. I myself had to be put on steroids and antibotics because of ear infection. SWELLING/ INFLAMED.
I can cure myself with garlic most of the time and get rid of congestion and fever and what not. But inflammation and the clear fluids that will not go away or drain properly, I need help with. People with knowledge about this please inform me on this subject. I just could not take seeing my son in that condition."
Replies12/21/2011: Timh from Louisville, Usa replies: "Rebel, did you try otc Tylenol? Advil? which may be a good short-term solution. Try some homeopathic product advertised specifically for allergies/inflammation, I use Hylands "Belladonna" with little results (I probably don't take enough). Magnesium is a good detoxifier and relaxer of body & mind. Vit-C would also help and works good w/ Mag. Use as label suggest. From the natural foods pantry, fish, flax, borage, evening primrose, sunflower, safflower oil 2 spoons every day will lower the entire inflammatory action in the body. An even more potent oil designed specifically for more severe cases of inflammation is the patent product Celadrin. I have had extremely good results with only one softgel daily. It is much more powerful than any of the oils previously listed, but it is recommended to not discontinue using them as they both work best together. The herb Turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory, use with food or take caps daily. I have the Turmeric/Ginger caps on my get list for inflammation.
Also look for any air-born allergen or toxin he might be exposed to. Improve indoor air quality.
Hope this helps and good luck."

06/23/2011: Oliveo from Toronto, Canada writes: "Hello everyone. I started a detox program two months ago and since then I have had a persistent dry cough that is driving me and everyone around me nuts. It has gone away a couple times only to return again full force. My naturopath said it was due to detox, but nothing is coming up. It's a dry cough. I got a chest X-ray and my lungs checked and they are normal and clear. I don't want this to go on indefinitely. I take ACV every day and it's not helping. Any other ideas on how I can stop it? Thank you."
Replies06/23/2011: Linda from New Brockton, Al, Usa replies: "check flax seed tea for cough on an earlier post."
06/24/2011: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Would you be willing to try acupuncture or Chinese herbs? That helped me. According to Traditional Chinese medicine, that can be an indication that the chi is too weak for the cough to be productive, meaning, it's trying to do its work which is why it's persistent but the power of the body is too weak for it to produce the effects. Hope this helps."

04/12/2011: Ellen from Charlotte, Nc writes: "I have been suffering from extreme seasonal allergies for 3-4 weeks. After the first week, my sinuses closed up completely, I tried sea salt irrigation and organic unfiltered ACV and nothing seemed to work. I finally went to the doctor and was prescribed azithromycin for a sinus infection.
While I hate antibiotics and try to never take them, I was desperate and needed to go back to work so gave them a try. Since finishing the antibiotics, I have had a horrible cough I can't get rid of as well as low grade fever and aches and pains. Every night, I wake up in the middle of the night for 1-2 hours in order to cough up white mucus. When I get home and try to nap, I sleep for ~45 minutes before waking up with a cough again. I also cough intermittently during the day, but not as badly. When I have a coughing fit, I start wheezing and feel as if I can't breathe.
It started as allergies but now is so much worse. If you can give me any advice, it would mean the world to me.
Many Thanks for Any Help"
Replies04/13/2011: Sandy from Lancs, Uk replies: "Ellen, I am having the exact same thing happen to me. I have put it down to an allergic reaction to the antibiotic I was taking - Erythromycin. I took it for 3 days a couple of weeks ago and started with the same horrendous cough, aching and waking up in the night, just as you decribe. Then I realised I had reacted like this once before after taking the same antibiotic and made the connection as being the cause of the cough, so I stopped taking it. For the first day or two, I felt like I was coughing up pure salt and that the antibiotic was drying out my system. I drank copious amounts of water for the first couple of days.I have been using acupressure points on "yinyanghouse.com" which have helped me greatly. If you type in "white sputum" in the search engine, it tells you the cause in traditional chinese medicine terms and which points to press. There are diagrams etc and it may be a bit baffling at first but using these points are very beneficial. Failing that you could go to an Acupuncturist. I have also been taking a bronchial balm and a teaspoon of turmeric and half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in half a cup of water, twice a day. This has also helped a lot. On top of that I am inhaling eucalyptus oil and taking vitamin C. I am still wheezing but am getting better every day. I hope you get well soon."

02/08/2011: Dice from Seiling, Ok writes: "I have had a cough that will result in passing out for 5 yrs now. I found out about 4 yrs ago that it was acid reflux causing the cough. I was put on omeprazole 20 mg two caps a day. This did not stop the cough, I asked if it was my blood pressure meds I was taking HCTZ 12. 5 mg/Lisinopril 20mg and was adv. It was not. They did not try changing the b/p meds just said no. They uped the omeprazole to 4 caps a day instead. The cough did not go away. But in the mean time I suffered a back injury which I take hydrocodone 7.5 mg for. Funny thing happened, the cough went away. When I stop taking the hydrocodone it comes back. They don't pay any attention to that though. I don't want to take hydrocodone all the time. What can I do? I am on a limited income and have to go to the veterans hospital to see a doctor, no other option."

11/10/2011: Sheriyq from Newark, Ca replies: "It's the LISINOPRIL! My husband, mother, father and many other friends have all been affected by LISINOPRIL causing a nagging, dry, hacking cough. Change meds and it might do the trick. It's been 9 months since you posted, so maybe you've found your answer by now - I certainly hope so."

[QUESTION] 07/30/2010: Julia from Bryson City, Nc, Usa writes: "I visit your website quite frequently and I have used some of your remedies. This site is very informative. I have had a chronic cough since I had breast cancer in 2004. I had the surgery, chemo and radiation treatments. Anyway, since the treatments I have had a cough that flares up once in a while. I think it might have been caused by this, I have been using apple cider vinegar, tried the lung flute which is suppose to break up the phlegm but I still have the cough. Does anyone know of something else I can try. I have had chest x-rays and they show some scarring. I have never smoked. Thank you for any aid anyone can give me. Julia"

[QUESTION] 08/26/2009: Luis from Cali, Colombia writes: "Intense heart related coughing (urgent)
I have a great friend, a coworker, who always has suffered heart problems after a cancer radiation therapy when he was young. He has a pacemaker and a stent right now. Nowadays he is presenting a serious problem of permanent cough apparently associated with heart, although physicians already removed all the lungs liquid (he was three weeks at the hospital), this cough persists, to the point that he is permanently connected to oxygen supply. He has lost 12 kilograms so far, and physicians only are expecting he improves physically at home to be able to do him a lung biopsy. These physicians have ruled out that it be a heart problem. Nevertheless, a biological physician has determined that is his heart and has requested an ecocardiography immediately. The patient subjective perception is the same.
1. Please, if someone has had a similar experience with this situation, I would appreciate any useful information, therefore I fear for my friend life.
2. If Ted or Bill, or another community member can recommend hydrogen peroxide inhalation to treat this ailment, I would like to hear from you.
God bless you!
Luis"

[QUESTION] 08/25/2009: Julia from Bryson City, NC, USA writes: "I have really enjoyed your website. It is very informative. I try and use natural remedies first. I had cancer treatments done back in 2004. My husband seems to think they might have burned my lung with radiation and thus I have had a chronic cough since that time. They finally did a chest x-ray which showed some scarring. They claim it was not due to radiation but I still have a cough and was wondering if anyone else on here might have had a similar incident and what did they do? Or do you have any recommendations for me? Thank you in advance. I have referred many people to this website. julia"

Replies07/18/2009: JC from DuBois, PA replies: "That sounds like acid reflux. You might want to try eliminating fluoride toothpaste if you are using it because fluoride is well known to cause esophogial and gastric problems. Hopefully you don't have fluoridated water, but if you do, you might want to try using distilled water and adding minerals back to the distilled water with mineral drops."

02/20/2009: Theo from Bourne, MA writes: "Please, help.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live in a very contaminated area. Just recently found out the awful smell that is always apparent is sulfur dioxide. They said it was from our dump that takes junk from building sites from entire area of S.E. MASS. Don't know what's it's from really. Don't care either. But it is slowly killig me. We had plans of moving several years ago, but due to sudden shift in our economic situation, we have been forced to stay put.
Two years ago suffered bad (ER) case of pleursey; was completely unable to breathe and my cough lasted months. Last summer was so SOB, but the air conditioner helped.
I am an RN (although changed careers over 25 years ago) but since have used homeopathy very successfully. I plan on ordering sulphuricum acidum. Do you have any other suggestions?
Know of any wealthy stars that are willing to "sponser an American family" and help them move. They just might save a life. (only kidding)
Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have an ozonator. I have read on your site that it is beneficial in some situations. My sister thinks you should not be in the room when it's running and has made me paranoid about using it."

STEAM INHALATION
Ratings:
|
09/21/2010: Annsmeal from Bailey, Colorado writes: "When anyone in my home, (including guests)have a cough, I get out my largest pot fill it with water Add 1 tablespoon of Oregano and 1 tablespoon of Thyme, turn to a simmer once it comes to a boil. Have a person stand over the steam and breath deep, this will make them cough up anything in the lungs. Breath in the steam until coughing is eased. Leaving the pot on simmer, adding water and more of the herbs if needed. I find that at least two days is the time frame to illuminate a bad cough. This combination takes care of both viral and bacterial causing coughs. Can be used with other remedies. I put this in a crock pot on low in sick rooms if the aroma doesn't reach from the kitchen."

TED'S ALKALIZING FORMULA
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 01/19/2007: Citrine from Austin, TX writes: "Dear Earthclinic, I just mixed 2 Tablespoon of ACV with 1/4 Teaspoon baking soda in 8 oz of water as mentioned by Ted. However, the pH strip tested a 5.0 acidity on this mix. I then added another 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and remixed it and tested it again -- this time the solution became neutralized to 7.0. So perhaps the correct mix should be 2 TBS of ACV to 1/2 TSP of baking soda? Just wanted to confirm with you all. By the way, I drank this today and my cold seems to be melting away! My coughing has stopped (after several days of cough attacks) and I am so relieved!!! Thanks so much for such a wonderful site!!! I am learning something new everyday! Regards, Citrine"
