QUESTIONS ABOUT MALIC ACID FOR CFS
11/14/2009: Simon from Perth, W.A. Australia writes: "Hello Ted,
I read one of your emails where you recommended Malic Acid for CFS. I have suffered with CFS for 20yrs and was curious how the Malic Acid helps CFS sufferers???
Also would be grateful if you could tell me how I take this formula. How much bicarb soda do I take with the Malic acid and do I also add the magnesium to the above remedy??? Is it taken twice daily?? If so for how long??
With regards to a person suffering CFS... will we ever be able to take the bicarb soda and ACV?? After say a period of time....or will this not be good for us to take?
Love your work Ted you are a very generous soul!!!
Thanking you in anticipation.
Simon"
11/17/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Simon,
The person that was cured of CFS here a couple of year ago, was taking plenty of malic acid. It's something like one tablespoon of malic acid, and add perhaps 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda to neutralize the acidity, and a magnesium chloride was taken separately, also large dose, closer to 1000 mg twice a day. Over time, he also needed some b complex, usually a twice weekly dose.empty stomach. It was taken religiously over the course of about 3-4 months, and I believe he continued, just to make sure for a year, but more on an irregular basis. At the time he was also taking some humic acid also, roughly 1/8 teaspoon at different times, which also restored his hair color. He was in his 60s.
It should be noted that the 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda with one level tablespoon of malic acid was dissolved in a glass of water, and we have to wait until the fizzing stopped."

CHRONIC FATIGUE FOR 4 YEARS, HAS INSOMNIA
02/07/2009: Sue from Miami, FL writes: "Hi Ted, I have been suffering with CFS for 4 years and have improved over the years. However, the only thing that seems to work for the insomnia I experience is Lunesta. I have tried to get off the meds but I seem to deteriorate and I start feeling very fatigue, body aches, brain fog, etc.. I have tried magnesium, l-tryptophan, 5-htp, melatonin, Valerian, etc. but they don't do anything other than relax me somewhat. I was wondering if you could recommend what else I could do to be able to fall as sleep and stay asleep while waking up refreshed. I still have CFS but is more manageable but that's because I don't do much activity. By the way, I was wondering if I have 'fluoride' in the pineal gland and was wondering if there is a test to confirm? And if is positive how to do you 'rid' yourself of the fluoride that may have accumulated in this gland. also, I have the usual symptoms of CFS, body aches, unrefreshing sleep, swollen lymphs, post-exertional malaise, extreme fatigue. I take a multi vit, vit c small doses b/c I think I get an allergic reaction, b complex, b12 methylcobalamin oral, magnesium, l-tryptophan, 5htp and that's about it for now. Any recommendations are welcomed! Thanks."
03/16/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "An allergic condition seems like a metabolic acidosis had to be looked at first. A preferred remedy is a carbicarb plus potassium and ocassional hydrogen peroxide to kill the Epstein Barr virus that caused the weakness.
The carbicarb plus potassium - to help sleep is:
1/8 teaspoon sodium carbonate (washing soda) plus 1/8 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate plus 1/8 teaspoon of potassium bicarbonate (or tripotassium citrate) in 1/2 to 1 glass of water taken 2 or 3 times a day. It seems to work best in helping sleep such as Astenia (a combination of CFS and insomnia) so is preferably taken 2 hours before sleep.
A borax may drive out or chelate the fluoride and often does reduce the fluoride and help some of the condition. the dose is often 1/8 teaspoon to 1/4 teaspoon borax in one liter of drinking water often taken 4 or 5 days out of a week. In a few cases bought on by Morgellons, but often do have the assoicated insomnia and CFS, vitamin B complex taken once or twice a day in the form of B50 were helpful. However, 5-10 drops of food grade 3% H2O2 mixed with the mentioned alkaline drinks of carbicarb + potassium were fond to be most helpul in boosting the energy levels for about 3 hours, maximum, so it's taken 3 to 4 times a day, which equals 9 to 12 hour workday. While alkaline is essential as well as vitamin B complex also, H2O2, magnesium and malic acid are also important against the CFS, but not for insomnia - that's taken care with the carbicarb + potassium, the magnesium dose requires larger then usual dose as in 1000 mg of magnsium chloride, but this dose can be lessened to 250 mg x 4 plus 250 mg of malic acid x 4 also. To neutralize the acidic malic acid, some baking soda of similar amount can be mixed in a glass of water or 1/2 glass of water to neutralize the acid. These are the ones I believed did cure a couple of cases of insomnia and CFS.

CFS AND MYALGIC ENCEPHALOMYELITIS
09/07/2007: P from CA writes: "Dear Ted: I would like to introduce myself as a male ex-academician with a PhD in Computer Science field who for the last 20 years has been suffering from a condition called "Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis(ME)" which has completely devastated my life. To give an idea I should mention that I was a straight "A" engineering honor student in a very famous top-ten university in U.S. and was one of a few people among 65000 students able to graduate with "Suma Cum Laude" honors (highest possible honor degree), but now I have great difficulties to do a simple math addition or remembering a phone number and.... I have tried everything including different types of alternative medicine practices like Acupuncture, Homeopathy, TCM, Chi Energy , Herbal Therapy, Unani Medicine (I am originally from Greece), Hands-on Healing.......... with no avail. My illness started very slowly (phase by phase) over 20 years ago. It started with enlargement of lymph nodes (under the arms, groin area and behind the knees...), excessive sweating from minimal physical activities (no night sweat), persistent muscle ache, extreme fatigue and nasal congestion but no fever at all. From time to time I had bloody buccal vesicles which would burst and discoloration of hard palate which still exists today(phase 1). After 4 months new symptoms appeared and added to the old symptoms which were gastrointestinal problems (nausea, coated tongue, lack of appetite and bacterial overgrowth of small intestine(loose stool))(phase 2). After 3 months the real devastation started slowly which was cognitive dysfunction and was added to the previous symptoms. I had short and long memory problems and problem with remembering and/or recalling names, numbers, words and so on........ (very similar to Alzheimer's symptoms). Strangely enough I never had fevers but if I ever had a fever because of seasonal influenza my symptoms would get better momentary a little bit. I started desperately visiting one doctor after another. They could not find anything wrong with standard blood tests and MRI. No anemia was observed. After 1.5 years of searching I visited an oncologist/immunologist at a university medical center. He ordered the antibody tests against all possible human viruses (EBV, CMV, HTLVI, HTLVII, HIV-1, HIV-2, HVV-6, Herpes I and II, Hepatitis B and C, Toxoplasma and Mycoplasma) and T, B and NK cell counts. The only positive antibody tests were for CMV and EBV and the early-antigen component of EBV being quite high even after 1.5 years. The cell counts have been constantly as follows for all these years CD4+=CD8+= 30%=800 CD4/CD8=1.0 CD19+=B=490 (17%. The high percentage of B cells is normally associated with EBV infection. I have to inform you that because of my desperate situation I have studied medicine, homeopathy and TCM to a great extend. I cannot take milk (or related products) and any fresh fruits specially orange and acidic products (ACV.....)if i do, they will turn my very loose bowel to a bad case of diarrhea. Anything that is able to raise my body temp. makes my stools a little bit formed (Ginger....). I have noticed that I cannot take any medication even supplements or herbal products for more than a few days because I get nauseated and lose my appetite and have muscle ache allover my body. Even though in Chinese medicine this is called "Spleen Chi Deficiency+ Liver Stagnation Syndrome"and in Unani Medicine it is called "excessive Balgham or Phlegm", I have realized that the problem is rooted in the liver somehow. Recently I have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis at the age of 49. I noticed whenever the coated tongue (upper 1/3 portion) gets clearer, most of symptoms except the cognitive ones and enlarged lymph nodes get improved a bit. For the last 20 years I never got hungry and never had a good appetite. I would like to know if theses symptoms are reversible, specially the cognitive ones. I am desperately looking forward to hear from you very soon. Please do not show my email address on your post. Best Regards"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear P:
If I have this complicated condition mentioned I would try to keep things simple and get back some normal parameters of the body first before trying to seek a cure. This means measuring the urinary pH first. This means I would try to at least get normal pH and ORP parameters FIRST, before doing the other things. The ideal parameter in a serious condition is to achieve a urinary pH of 7.3 and a ORP of -100 mV or less through a simple baking soda only or sodium citrate (which is the more effective alkalizer of the two.
It appears that the condition of a severe fatigue to be a virus, at least initially. But this may be just be part of the picture but further looking on osteporosis appears to be a mycoplasma condition, or a fungi infection which exists throughout the body and sometimes cause or manifests itself similar to a chronic fatigue just the same.
Therefore the initial remedy, with further email follow ups is needed. However, I will keep things simple:
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in one half glass of water. This is taken at least twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Further more, the dose may increase or decrease necessary for me to obtain a urinary pH of 7.3.
The drinking water I would add 1/4 teaspoon sea salt per liter of water.
I would get my urea levels checked (from urine or blood), it may be well below average, or well below. Urea If that is the case amino acid supplements, or even a urea supplements may be needed to get that to normal parameters.
Once the body attains normal pH parameters well within the 7.3 give or take .3. This should be sufficient after the second or third week.
On the third or fourth week there are two remedies to handle the fungus/viral liver problems. One is granulated lecithin along with food or on empty stomach, very much depending on how well the body can handle it. This should remove the liver congestion, reduce some heavy metals.
The second remedy I will addressed directly the mycoplasma issue, which is 1/4 teaspoon of borax in one liter of drinking water. This usually are taken no more than 4 days out of a week.
The body by now should be able to handle some supplments on the fourth week such as magnesium and zinc. The magnesium citrate or close) is 250 mg/day for 5 days out of a week and zinc gluconate is 50 mg a week.
Most people with this "brain fog" can be helped, with a simple addition of 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 3 drops of 3% H2O2 taken only once in the morning.
The key to chronic fatigue after lots of trial and error turns out to be to get the proper urinary pH to 7.0 - 7.3 FIRST before doing any other things such as getting mental problems back to normal, in which case vitamin B complex will help greatly the appetite and the paranoia problems but can't be taken frequently as B complex (particularly from the B6) are acid forming. So that I would take the vitamin B complex on once or twice a week, and only after the fourth week into the akalization.
Sodium malate and magnesium during the alkalization stage is helpful based on my experience with chronic fatigue. An easy remedy is one drop of clove oil in one glass of water well stirred. That restored a lot of energy back too.
It must be noted that on the fifth week and beyond those remedies which begin at separate times are still maintained, however I may pare down the borax remedy to only once a week or twice a week depending on my conditions.
As to the osteoposis, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 should be quite helpful against the liver problems as they are also antifungal and helpful with osteporosis as well as the borax remedy also. Magnesium citrate 250-500 will also reduce painful joint problems common with chronic fatigue.
If all goes well, I should receive some feedback from you within the month.

HOW LONG BEFORE I FEEL BETTER?
05/26/2007: John writes: "Hi there I am currently using H2O2, and am confused as to why I am still getting symptoms after 3 weeks. Could u tell me: 1) How long a healing crisis can last for someone with CFS? 2) How long someone should stay on a dose ( say 10 drops ) before moving up? Is it ok to move up doses quickly? 3) If one were to come down with flu type symptoms, should they continue with the Hydrogen Peroxide, or stop? Many thanx in advance John"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I have found should be best handled by dealing with getting the body in an alkaline state first, and take magnesium and malate supplements. H2O2 is seen as supportive by reducing the microbes so that the body can defend itself.
No one single supplements is going to help CFS. I would much prefer to start off with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (with 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid, if possible) in 1/2 glass of water taken 2 times a day. The urine pH should reach 7, and from then on, I would then take magnesium citrate (or magnesium chloride 250 mg for 4 days or 5 days out of a week, plus some apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoon plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda that can be alternated with the 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and the citric acid, (or just the 8 teaspoon of lime juice or lemon juice with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 glass of water).
You can do whichever, but once the body reaches urinary pH of 7, or if you can't get pH to measure them, usually the baking soda and citric acid , or baking soda and lime or lemon juice should reach the desire pH relatively quick, within 3-4 days. Thereafter, apple cider vinegar (malic acid) is then alternated with the original baking soda and lime, plus magnesium supplements 250 mg. At this time than a couple of drops of H2O2, can be taken, for a week or so.
If it doesn't get any better, clove oil, toothpick dipped in it in a glass of water, well stirred will help. People seems to be oversensitive of clove oil, but I find the most effective in reducing the CFS, if they can tolerate the level. However, H2O2 does help, but for me, I used them as a supportive CFS rather than the main venue for CFS remedy. Both zinc (zinc gluconate 50 mg, 2 times a week) and iodine (from kelp) taken every day, is also necessary to raise the immune system.
I had one case of CFS that was cured after taking sufficient amounts of baking soda, citric acid (or lemon juice), with plenty of apple cider vinegar and baking soda, where later H2O2 and baking soda were later used as maintenance dose, in the later stages rather than the initial stages of CFS.
If none of the above is helping than the issue become heavy metal toxicity, in which case, chlorella capsules, one a day 5 days out of a week, and chinese parsley will remove the heavy metals. Sodium ascorbate vitamin C 1000 mg/day should always be taken to lower the level of prooxidants of heavy metals too.
In rare instances, pseudoestrogens from the food we eat and other contaminants maybe causing the problem so taking a bath with borax (which is a better soap for me, at least) should correct or at least reduce the negative effects of them as this promotes testosterone and removes immune suppressing fluorides from the body. And I haven't even need to mention the chlorinated water and its effect on the immune system, which should also be avoided, or neutralize the chlorine.
The key to a cure is to cover all territorities."

SEVERE EXHAUSTION
11/18/2006: E writes: "Do you have any thoughts about severe exhaustion?"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The exhaustion issue can usually be resolved quite quickly doing three things:
1. Vitamin B complex (it is the B5 and B8 that is mostly responsible, but the other Bs is necessary for sugar metabolism to energy) Usually 100 mg.
2. Magnesium chloride/magnesium citrate 250 mg.
3. Baking soda 1/4 teaspoon + 1/2 glass of water once in the morning once in the evening.
4. Vitamin E 4000 IU
5. A yet to be identified virus is often the main cause of extreme exhaustion. Consider adding clove oil in your drinking water say, start easy 1 drop per liter of water. More drastic method is clove oil 10% 90% ethyl alcohol, and apply to the extremities (arms, legs, the spinal column) every 10 minutes, do this for about 10 times. It is unlikely the research scientist will ever identify it so just forget looking for literature surveys. The exhaustion issue should be noticeably gone the next day."
