[QUESTION] Simyboye from London, Uk writes: "Chronic fatigue

Hi there, hope your all well and happy?

I send my kind thoughts to you all and wonder if someone can give me some input?

I have spent £1000's on trying to find a cure to my tiredness. Symtoms below. Just recently been to see the doctor who is has now done the second set of bloodtests... I am currently in contact with a holistic therapist who is insistant of the tiredness being my endocrine system.

Below is the info I have been sending and speaking with. If someone can give any advice etc, please let me know. I have two sets of bloodtest results that show low this and that. Can post or email to anyone interested?

Many thanks
James

Dear Mr ____,

Your GP has ruled out inflammatory conditions, you are not aneamic or diabetic, and your thyroid function is normal. The main abnormality I see is the low SHBG. I would suggest you ask your GP to repeat this, and also check your fasting insulin and glucose levels, ferritin, cortisol and prolactin. To get these done privately is expensive. One possibility for some of your symptoms, particularly fatigue, is insulin resistance. Amphetamines and related drugs such as ecstasy do have some endocrine impact, usually loss of libido, but little is known about their long-term effects. I would be happy to review these results.

Kind regards,

John _______

Hi Sir,
Many thanks for replying. Much appreciated.

Enclosed 1st and 2nd test results.

Please let me know if you see anything that would cause the chronic tiredness.

Many thanks.

Dr John _ ________

Dear Sir,

I wondered if you could please help, or give me some advice. I would do anything to get rid of my chronic tiredness.

Just recently had my blood tested and a few things have showed up. However my GP wont forward me to an endocrinologist so think I may have to go private from here. Can forward you the scanned results of my blood if you wish?

Some more info on my condition. Been like this for 17 years. Took many recreational drugs as a teenager including speed, weed, ecstacy, cocaine etc. In October 1992 I took speed and ecstacy (at a rave) and was very wasted. The next day I was too scared to sleep as I thought I wouldn't wake. I'm sure that my dire tiredness started from there. Have listed symptoms below.

I do have:
Mild Athletes foot (reacuring)
Cold feet
*Heel spur
Slight cracks around my groin area that weep. Yeasty and fungal
Jock itch for at least 15 years. Sorted with coconut oil. Only thing that worked!
Itchy anus
Lower back ache.
Cold hands
Hard to put on weight (have taken body building steriods)
Wind/ burping/Bloating
*Indegestion
Upset stomach
Tightness in my chest sometimes.
*Slurring of words most of the time.
Furry tongue
*Poor concentration.
*Poor memory
Sensitivities to noise.
*Constant head fog
*Constant tiredness - apple cider vinegar helps for a small amount of time.
Itchy ears

I don't have:
Sensitivities to smells, fuels, smoke diesel fumes etc. Although I did have a hair analysis done and said I do.
Mercury fillings. Removed Last year, but not done a detox on that.
Food sensitivies
Sinnus issues

I have tried:
Hypnosis
Acupuncture
Meditation
Reiki
Psychotherapists
Psychiatrists
CBT
Huna

Urine therapy

etc etc

pH diet for 6 months - pH would not go above 7. Did go from acidic to more alkaline but only slightly. Didn't feel any better.
Last Natrupath verdict - Lack in various vitamins and now sorted.. Said I had slight leaky gut. Still not sure why my pH levels wont go up?

Hydrogen Peroxide infusions at .375%

Oh, I'm all over this thing but still not much progress.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. I think Its going to take a while to shift.

Thank you in advance.
James

EMAIL FROM CURRENT NATURPATH

Hi James,

Could not see everything - scanning cut edges.

From what I could see, your hormones are out of balance. Low sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) may be related to hypothyroidism and insulin resistance which are consistent with your symptoms.

High serum luteinizing hormone (LH) level is also something that needs to be addressed.

So, go back to your GP and ask for a referral to an endocrinologist, as I had suggested, and insist on it!

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] Debbie-Anne from Saratoga, Nsw Australia writes: "Hi Ted

I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 20 years now and was delighted to read your valuable information and am really desperate for your advise.

I tried your recipe of 2 x tablespoon ACV & 1/4 tspn bicarb Soda and for the first time in 20years felt well with great energy. However, I am now suffering with chronic constipation from the ACV & Bicarb Soda. I am very aware that I have candida very badly too, the other day I consumed raw garlic with lunch and suffered very bad indigestion and again became very constipated. Due to years of food intolerances, allergies and severe hayfever (all year round) I have developed severe poloyps in my nose and am desperate to avoid yet another operation. However, you mentioned lemons in one of your remedies but because of my sensitivities I am unable to take lemons (i live in Australia).I am also aware that I am unable to digest my food should I take something for this.I would love to keep taking your remedies but might need them modified, can you please help me.

Ted, can you also tell me how long I need to take the remedy you suggest and the maintenance dosage I need to take thereafter to maintain my health.

Thank you for your time.

Warm regards,
Debbie-Anne"

[QUESTION] Roro from Doha, Qatar writes: "TED please I need your help ! tired of being tired :(

Hi TED, bless you for the help you are giving all of us, this is greatly appreciated! My condition started after I deliver my third baby (28 months ago). After a year of breastfeeding I started to lessen breastfeeding, I noticed that I started loosing weight (2 kg) not much but I wasn't fat anyway. Since that time I felt my energy is never like before (kind of laziness) also I was a bit nervous sometimes (irritable) experiencing some lightheadness and got very low before my period (could it be postpartum PMS?).

Now I do not breastfeed anymore but still having from time to time nausea and poor appetite also inner tremors (nervousness) feeling low energy and down and also strange calves muscles pain (not everyday) sometimes the whole legs'muscles (pain look like the one after a spasm)soreness maybe! I stoped to ride bycicle thinking maybe it hurts my muscles!

What happened to me after this pregnancy? doctors think that it's stress (this is what they always said when they can't diagnose the condition!).

Thyroid blood work was done and many others including vit. B12 and folic acid and calcium all fine!

My symptoms sometimes are more noticable beginning or end of my period, it lasts few days then stops then everything back to normal, but few days and could be again here!

I have to mention that when afternoon for example I start to not feel well I don't sleep good and I spent the whole night going to bathroom but no diarrhea just loose stool a bit and my body feels cold and nausea attacks me!then next day I wake up shaky (because I didn't sleep well) and the whole day very sleepy and low energy and everything!

My body needs a break, what could be? is it some hormonal issu after pregnancy? or adrenal fatigue? or some unknown allergy? or.......??????

I was trying to get Hydrogene Pyroxide but couldn't find here they have just the one used in pharmacies (with stabiliser). Please I need your help!

[YEA] Lisa from Syracuse, New York writes: "Chronic Fatigue - Vitamin D

I went to the doctor a few months ago complaining of being so tired I didn't want to get out of bed. They checked my vitamin d levels to find I was at 17 when the lowest they would like to see you at is 50. I've been on 2,000 iu's of Vitamin D3 (make sure you use d3 not d2) and feel soooo much better. I actually have energy now! I started my husband on it and it has helped him tremedously as well. Most people are vitamin d deficient and EVERYONE should be on 1,000 iu'd a day at least! I haven't gone back yet to check to see what my levels are now. It has been about 3 months. Everyone has to ASK their doctor to check their vitamin d levels. I wonder how many years I have suffered needlessly. From what I'm reading, when you are as defecient as I was, your dosage should be higher than 2,000 iu's. I will go get my levels checked and then if they are still low, up the dose."

Jack from Lexington, KY-USA writes: "I can't figure this out: I live healthy, look 10+ years younger than I am (45) but am really tired-exhausted and have almost no ability to store up energy. I have no endurance. Sometimes I feel slightly dizzy or "off" as I stand or walk.

Everything seems to be working right. I'm currently testing my PH and it seems normal. I had blood tests from a traditional MD doctor and nothing showed up. I've had NAET.com treatments--they've helped but I am pooped again. I've varied my diet big time over the last 12 years: vegetarian; vegan; big meat eater; raw foods-juicing; supplements galore $$; organic. I've done fasts, cleanses, energy work---weaker than ever. It gets worse every year. I'm colder than most people. I don't do junkfood, food additives (I do organic) or fast food.

I've tried working out at a gym 3x a week but am too tired for that. It's like I can use up my energy and be wasted tired until it builds up again. Aerobic exercise gets my breath and everything going...feeling good, but a week later of that and I will crash. I don't do: drugs, prescriptions, tobacco, drink (I'll have a beer once a month but no side effects) alcohol.

Needless to say, I have trouble just doing my job, getting around, and staying positive...really hard to do when others my age can play hockey, run marathons, etc (others that exercise and eat right).

I'm at the end of my rope with this stuff. I'm really discouraged with the medical industry as anyone I see wants to do lots of Tests $$$ and then guess what drugs I need to take.

I live in Lexington, KY and haven't found anyone out here who can put a finger on it. A chinese medicine guy could tell I had something really wrong with my Chi-Qui and gave me a supplement to strengthen my Kidney Chi but that didn't seem to do anything...Oh yeah, I tried Qui-Gong--nada. Zilch.

Any ideas would be great!

thanks

[YEA] Rathmussen from Montreal, Canada writes: "I recently read that people who suffer from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia benefit remarkably from cortisol treatments (75 per cent showed significant improvement, and 62 per cent reported substantial improvement). This is because they have adrenal dysfunction, meaning their adrenal glands, which produce sex hormones and cortisol, don\'t work effectively. I suspect this is due to viral damage. Cortisol is that stress hormone...you get a shot of it in fight or flight situations for a quick burst of energy, decreased pain sensitivity, etc. Proper levels are important for proper glucose metabolism, regulation of blood pressure, insulin release for blood sugar maintanence, immune function and inflammatory response. Maybe this is why when you exercise it makes it worse because your cortisol levels should increase with aerobic exercise to help deal with the wear and tear. The bulk of cortisol release happens when we sleep, which would also explain why you might not wake up feeling refreshed. If you read up on cortisol, you'll see that if you don't have enough, you just don't have access to energy to burn.

I would definitely try the cortisol therapy, but perhaps there is a more natural way to stimulate the adrenal glands. Research has found that the nutrient Phosphatidylserine (PS) helps balance both high and low levels of cortisol. Usually our brains manufacture sufficient levels of PS, but if there is a deficiency of folic acid and vitamin B12, or of essential fatty acids, the brain may not be able to make sufficient PS levels. So get lots of fish, ridiculous amounts of dark green vegetables, and even rice and soy (or lecithin, I imagine). You can find PS supplements...they used to make them from cow's brains, but now they make a soy lecithin-derived one. (Phew!) At the very least, this nutrient would help with brain fog.

(My interest in chronic fatigue stems from having the Epstein Barr virus. I couldn't shake the fatigue for years and years. I did find getting fish oil and a teaspoon of chlorella everyday finally produced some results, which I would recommend to absolutely everyone!)

[YEA] Emilia from Atlanta, GA writes: "I\'ve had CFS for about 6 years and in the past few months I\'ve made a remarkable recovery. In my case underlying causes were food sensitivities (dairy and corn) and PBB poisoning as well as metal toxicity. In Michigan in the 70s a chemical company accidentally dumped PBB into cattle feed and it got into the food chain. Working with my kinesiologist I\'ve done a lot of detoxing and now am up to about 75% of the energy I used to have. I got rid of my aluminum cookware. This year I\'ll have my metal (mercury) fillings replaced. The headaches and other conditions like IBS are gone. CFS and fibromyalgia seem to be related to the body being filled with toxins more than its able to handle. That explains why conventional medicine can\'t figure out what the cause it -- it\'s a different set of causes for every individual. Still, anything you can to do detox should help, and look for food intolerances as well."

[WORKED TEMPORARILY] Alan from Sydney, Australia writes: "Hydrogen Peroxide major turn around then not.

I have been rebuilding my health following CFS for many years but in June 07 I had "Influenza A" which really knocked me around. I thought I was recovering ok but the old CFS symptoms re –emerged ie headaches, brain fog, unrefreshing sleep, fibromyalgia, blurred vision, sleeping all the time. In November 07 I found EC and tried H2O2 food grade. At first I tried the inhalation method for a couple of weeks but progress was not really fast enough so I took it internally. Due to my low energy and fogginess I managed to take the upper end dose on the first day (normally people build up to this over a few weeks) ie. 150ml of .50% ¼ tsp baking soda three times in one day. This is equivalent to 25 drops in 150ml of water three times in a day.
Results: first intake – nothing Second intake – my vision improved markedly over a ten minute period. It was as though a veil had been lifted from my eyes. Everything was sharper colors were brighter. I also began to feel more energy. (Since the flu my eyes have detiorated, I had to get a new prescription for my specs. And they had to make them 3 times because my vision varied so much from day to day. ) Third intake – nothing noticeable.
The following day I woke with a headache and fogginess and figured I was in for a detox reaction. This lasted until around 2pm and from then on I felt fantastic. I mean I felt exceptionally good. I felt like hugging strangers in the shopping mall. Giving money away, imagine no possessions and so on. It was exuberance, lightness, abundant energy. It lasted about 3-4 weeks. During this time I did some maintenance doses on a lower scale.
Results not: Anyway I have since had a garden variety bug and many of the symptoms have returned but to a lesser degree except for one debilitating condition that is worsening. When I eat – anything – I get a hangover and overwhelming fatigue for about 90mins. I have to sleep it off. I have tried various alternatives ie ACV & BS but to no avail. Does any one have any ideas what might cause this? I can't go out or for very long because if I have to eat I have to sleep.
I do not have any apparent digestive problems but it is probably connected in some way.

Myself with fibromyalgia for 11 years, my daughter with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) for at least two years and my wife with chronic fatigue syndrome for about two years.

I recently read the articles on iodine use for mammary fibrocystic disease and decided to treat us all with 12.5 mg iodine/iodate (50:50). The results after two weeks have been very promising. All three report increased energy and better sleep.

The MCS patient lowered reaction on exposure to voc, mold and carpet, absence of morning nausea.

The CFS patient: less depression, better hearing and better appetite, no headaches.

The FMS patient: less pain in major sites (cervical, thoracic and lumber spine), arm-wrist, better cognition, better tolerance to aerobic exercise, fewer migraine headaches. I will follow this up for six months and report again.

I had been livimg this way for years and oil pulling gave me my life back. It also cleared up a skin problem I had when nothing else seemed to work. Recently, I came down with fibromyalgia and my doctor would not be prepared to treat me as it is not a "recognised illness". I was in chronic pain and was suicidal. I could barely move my tongue inside my mouth and could not walk. I was so ill, I had never experienced anything like the severity of this before. I kept oil pulling and changes occured incrementally every day until after a couple of weeks my health was back to normal. Oil pulling has changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a POWERFUL remedy."

[YEA] Denise from Tucson, AZ writes: "I have chronic fatigue syndrome and I read that raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar kills bacteria and can give you energy. Well guess what ? It does give me a burst of energy every time I add it in my water. If this apple cider can give a patient with CFS a burst of energy, imagine what it can do for someone who is healthy !"

[YEA] Brenda from Glasgow, SCOTLAND, UK writes: "I\'am so! delighted to have found this site, and the recommendation of ACV- i have been suffereing with ongoing CFS for 11 and a half years, and within that time i always seem to be v. susceptible to picking up viruses, esp. prone to sinus probs. anyhow - this ACV seems to do the trick! it def. put a hold on me developing full blown sinusitus - it seems to diminish the viral flu type aches and pains and definately diminishes the catarrh - seems to kill of the headaches too. i have only been using an Organic Cyder Vinegar bought from the local supermarket, so am assuming if i went to the health food store, the product may work even better - dont know, but all i know is it has saved me taking to my bed - i notice also whilst taking it that i have slightly more energy. anyhow, am so! glad to have discovered it."

[YEA] Max from Atlanta, Ga writes: "I\'ve been a vegetarian for many years. And although I\'m not 100% vegan, I rarely eat dairy (except yougurt). I get plenty of exercise and I don\'t smoke and I rarely drink (red wine once a month). In spite of all this, I have been suffering from CFS for the last 7 years. Through diligence and hard work, many of the symptoms have slowly faded away. Recently, I got one of Kevin Trudeau\'s books and in that book he talks alot about the wonders of apple cider vinegar and pure distilled water. I\'ve also researched this on the net and it all seems to be true. So for the last two weeks I\'ve been drinking 8 full glasses of distilled water everyday and I\'ve been taking 2 tablespoons of vinegar a day. I\'ve noticed some obvious improvements. The most significant thing that I noticed is that I no longer have such dry skin and my scalp isn\'t flaky anymore. Also, it seems I\'m sleeping better and I don\'t crave sweets has been lessened. Nonetheless, in spite of all the good news, I\'ve been experiencing something that\'s totally unexpected and very unusual. I\'m constipated. I\'ve never had a problem with constipation. Even in my worst days with CFS I was never constipated. But now, every other day it seems I\'m struggling to get something to come out. This is really baffling to me because I\'m drinking more water than ever before and I have more energy, yet I\'m suffering from constipation. Do you know what may be causing this?"

[YEA] David from Memphis, TN writes: "I have been taking coconut oil for five or six years now. About five years ago, my daughter, who was in college at the time, came down with mononucleosis. I overnighted her a bottle of monolaurin, the main ingredient of lauric acid, which is only found in any quantity in coconut oil and human milk. My daughter was diagnosed on a Tuesday, she got the monolaurin on Wednesday and on Friday, nine days later she had no symptoms and quit taking it. The following Monday (that\'s 13 days post diagnosis) she had lab work done and was completely normal. Other dorm-mates of hers had mono for months. Coconut oil, lauric acid and monolaurin supposedly lise the lipid envelopes of lipid viruses and bacteria.

Most colds are caused by lipid enveloped viruses as are a number of major viral infections.

Just last Saturday, a friend of mine called to tell me he had a horrible cold and had made an appointment to see and ENT physician on Monday. I told him to take three tablespoons of coconut oil. When I saw him on Monday, he was obviously fine. He told me he had taken two tablespoons on Saturday and Sunday and was fine on Monday so he cancelled his doctor\'s appointment.

I take it all the time but every now and then I run out. Usually I will get sick when I do. Then I go get some more. It is particularly effective for sinus infections. I just snort some into my sinus cavities. Most people are amazed when I prescribe it and it works. But I have seen it happen so many times now, I just expect it to work.

[YEA] Lynette from Edwardsville, IL writes: "For the past year, I have been suffering from severe headaches, my heart would beat extremely fast just from standing up, and dizziness. I knew that it was serious when my head was hurting so bad one day that I went to lie down and woke up almost 15 hours later. I found this website while looking for a cure for gout for someone else. I sent them the information and then began to read the other parts of this site. After my reading, I wrote out a list and I went to the health food store immediately after work. I have been taking the mixture of the water with ACV, liquid garlic, cayenne pepper and blackstrap molasses for a week now. For the first time in a year, I am feeling so much better. My heart rate has slowed. My headaches are gone. I am using the bathroom on a regular basis now and I am not sleepy all of the time. I am also taking multi-vitamins. Thank you for this wonderful website!"
