SOMETHING IN KITCHEN CAUSING TERRIBLE REACTION
10/26/2008: Anon writes: "My friend and her husband bought a townhouse in San Fran last spring. Turns out they couldn't move in because there was a mold issue in the kitchen and her husband has a terrible reaction to mold. They spent thousands and thousands of dollars removing the walls in the kitchen and taking out the mold. It's gone (they have since tested for mold 2x), but he is still having some kind of reaction... perhaps to the chemicals in the kitchen (they had to re-do everything).. Her husband is fine in the rest of the house, but a few minutes in that kitchen and he has a reaction (terrible migraine, nausea) that lasts for hours.
Any ideas? She's tried air quality specialists, sealing the electrical outlets (where a smell seems to emanate from)allergists, putting tons of plants, leaving the windows wide open for weeks, etc. Nothing is working. Couldn't still be the mold, could it?"
10/28/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Actually once the molds enter in the body, it will be sensitive to certain chemicals and the body will be reactive even if the molds are not still there. A mycotoxins or spores often come from the windows or outside that may still be there. It's usually best to detoxify the body with 10 drops of 3% H2O2, in a glass of water plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon of potassium bicarbonate twice a day to flush some of those molds to reduce the reactivity. However it is still also necessary to a simple way of killing these molds, which is an ammonium bicarbonate 10% or ammonium chloride 10% solution and put in a mist sprayer to remove the remaining spores and their mycotoxins. A more powerful mixture is a combination of ammonium chloride or ammonium bicarbonate 10% with a 10% solution of milk of magnesia (which is often an 8% solution of magnesium hydroxide, with no aluminum added), and spray the entire kitchen area as many times as necessary. To kill bacteria and other things, 10% xyltiol can be added to the mist sprayer. Spores and remaining fungus should be entirely removed. A common antidote to remove the remaining mycotoxins in the body is 1000 mg of sodium ascorbate and 1000 mg of BHT.
If that's not working another method is to add 3 drops of 0.1% methylene blue three times a day, in a 1/2 glass of water, which is more or less 100 micrograms of methylene blue. It should be noted that this is used in much greater quantities by U.S. troops long ago as a cure for malaria, at a ridiculously high 50 mg.
As for me I used this to reduce allergic reaction - especially allergic fungus reaction. In my books, at least the allergic reaction is due fungus, but is made much worse by a redox imbalance, which more or less that the body's is lacking in antioxidant from the point of view that the negativity of the blood measured in millivolts, can be checked for in the urine using the usual cheap ORP meter (oxidation reduction potential), and has to be -100 millivolts to -200 millivolts.
A figure nearing -50 to 0 is a sign of allergic response to increase (it encourages fungal growth), from the fungus that is in existence inside the body systems. A methylene blue is an amazing carrier of negative hydrogen molecules and electron carries and seems to block fungus growth and it's attachement to healthy cells reducing the allergic response by killing off fungus in suble ways. It causes a uniformity in ORP electrical potential.
The theory behind this thought is a long one, so I don't want to bore you with this, but a more interesting note is it used in low dose amount to exceed Hayflick limit of population doublings by 25-30 population doublngs compared to normal cellular lifespan of 10 -11 population doublings, So therefore it's safe as it is extremely low dose. The dose I used is based on that study.
There are two ways of finding the source. Once is food intolerance testing using the FDA approved Asyra machine, which is an electronic form of food intolerance testing. It can go through hundreds of food and chemical within a very short time. The other is the hair mineral analysis which will reveal what metal toxicity there is that caused the reaction. If one of the metals are high the body will respond badly to certain toxins.
It should be noted that alkalizing the body reduces the fungus inside the system, through vitamin C and baking soda generally speaking, but the ammonium chloride, or a more elaborate formulations mentioned here should get rid of the remaing fungus and bacteria. Also the hair mineral analysis and food intolerance test will be a real eye opener too.

HOW TO REMOVE PBDE FLAME RETARDANTS
09/18/2008: Mum2girls from Chicago, IL writes: "Is there a way to remove the high levels of flame retardants PBDE's that scientists are finding in our bodies?
Since there have been posts on EC that talk about ways to remove fluoride and chlorine I thought Ted could tell us how to remove Flame Retardants/PBDE's from our systems.
Also what about BPA? I have been avoiding plastic and canned foods in my home for 3 years now but not sure how much of it has accumulated in our bloodstreams from eating out etc.
Thank you!"
10/10/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Supposedly, PDBE flame retardants production is stopped since 2004 in U.S. and Eruope but I suspect many products we have may still have PDBE from imports since these are not regulated. Most exposure from PDBE is going to be environmental such as from dusts, old plastics and fats. Fats in our food has lPDBE as this is found in fat, and hence are fat soluble material. More obese people will have more PDBE stored in fat cells. The control of dust is to use wet towel to clean off dust using the wet method as opposed to dry method where dusts high in PDBE is everywhere. Certain sofas with foams and bed may contain PDBE, so I would check for manufacturers whether they have flame retardants, not just for plastic materials.
The other common contaminant that is also found in milk and breast milk is the perchlorates. Both the PDBE (poly brominated diphenyl ether) and perchlorate (used in pyrotechnics, fireworks and rocket industries) are similar in that it is a halogens, which displaces iodine, and causes mental retardation in children by causing or limiting the uptake of iodine as halogens compete with one another. Since we live in a society where we use chlorine bleaches, brominated breads, and other halogens that are non iodine in nature this is dangerous for developing fetuses to the mother during term pregnancy. Hence, the most suitable way of removing these is by displacement, by taking more than required of iodine supplements, usually from an organic source, such as kelp or a more convenient source such as sodium iodide or potassium iodide tablets. For me I can used lugol's solution or I can use potassium iodide or sodium iodide also. To reduce further the accumulating fat soluble PDBE for example, I can take lecithin, which is a fat emulsifier and will remove fat soluble toxins from the body easier by making them water soluble. The body has limited ability to remove fat from the body and this is why I liked lecithin. Excessive fats and excessive oxidized fats (if they recirculated too long) accumulates in the liver and this becomes cirrhosis, or liver cells die, from taking too much alcoholic drinks can have the same effect. Hence lecithin and removing fat portions of meat, and eating less meats will reduce exposure of PDBE as fats and to some extent meats have PDBE and perchlorates too.
As to canned products, Bisphenol A is still used in nearly all canned products, especially with a plastic lining, which are estrogenic. It is wonderful if powers-that-be wants birth control since it is estrogenic, but may cause miscarriage (if pregnancy is a possibility from excessive intakes of bisphenol A!). It is also a boon for weight loss product since bisphenol A and estrogenic products, but also aspartame (found in many dietary products) causes weight gain. Actually I have recently found significant weight gain in a few cases of taking aspartame now hidden in many children's vitamins, pharmaceutical, and even in supplements such as glucosamine sulfate, N Acety Cysteine, where the use of product required dissolving in a glass of water to taste good. It is therefore no surprise they also added propylene glycol, which tastes sweet, but also induces metabolic acidosis. Taking large amounts of that can also kill you, as it would by taking too much aspartame, and even more deadly if Creatine monohydrate that body builders used is mixed with sugar Free Gatorade that has aspartame. It breaks down by oxidation and enzyme into methanol alcohol but even worse, the longer it is in the blood methanol is further broken down into formaldehyde.
If there is any more surprise, then I have to be careful of cellular use. While research has shown cellular phone use is safe, I find this ridiculous to believe since you can cook a boiled eggs within an hour using two cellular phones. Obviously if you think microwave is safe, heating a blood in microwave at similar temperatures for normal heating of blood has killed a patient before. So microwave heating may denature our DNA and other things and not just the heat that's killing us, it's really the microwave radiation that's actually being produced.

POOL CHEMICALS AND ADHD
06/23/2008: Miriam from Wichita, Kansas writes: "I was wondering if any one has any information regarding chemicals in swimming pools and adhd. Our 5 year old swims at the rec center and every time he comes home we have major melt downs that last for days. We have eliminated the food allergies, food colorings and so on, also added all the vitamins & nutrients, so there has to be some correlation because there is nothing left to take out of his life. Thank you!!"
06/30/2008: Teresa from Northern, Indiana replies: "The large doses of chlorine in the water would concern me. Chlorine is disruptive, and harmful in the body, and I'm pretty sure your son is absorbing some of it through his skin. I think Ted recommends sodium thiosulfate (few drops in a lot of water - search this site for the recipe). If I remember correctly, Ted said a few drops can be used to calm overactive kids, because it detoxes chlorine build-up. Please search the site and decide for yourself. I had to find alternative care for my kids this summer, because the YMCA added swimming to each and every day of summer camp, and I didn't want to expose them to that much pool water. Good Luck."
