Chronic Burping Remedies

"Burping, also known as belching, ructus, or eructation, involves the release of gas from the digestive tract (mainly esophagus and stomach) through the mouth. It is usually accompanied with a typical sound, and, at times, an odor.

Burping is typically caused by eating or drinking too fast, and thereby swallowing (aerophagia) and subsequently expelling air, in which the expelled gas is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. Burps can also be caused by imbibing carbonated drinks such as beer, soft drinks, or champagne, in which case the expelled gas is carbon dioxide from the drink itself. Common diabetes drugs metformin and Byetta can cause burping, especially at higher doses. This often resolves in a few weeks. Burping combined with other symptoms such as dyspepsia, nausea, and heartburn may be a sign of an ulcer or hiatal hernia, and should be reviewed by a physician." (Wikipedia)

COCONUT OIL

[YEA]  01/26/2008: Barbara from Tower, MN writes: "I had a horrible, embarrasing smelly belch! It only happened about twice a week, but it smelled like sulpher,ie: rotton eggs! I checked the internet for what horrid diseaes I may have and found a recommendation for coconut oil. Two meals of scrambled eggs cooked in coconut oil cured me! Permanently! For the last 6 years I only use coconut or olive oil for cooking, not more "smelly burping" ever!"

FRESH PINEAPPLE

1 YEA

[YEA]  08/21/2007: Susan from Orange Park, FL writes: "I read years ago that burping and indigestion can be caused by insufficient stomach acid. I had always suffered with chronic burping after eating ANYthing! It was very embarrassing. The article suggested eating a small amount of fresh pineapple before eating, preferably 15-20 minutes before meals because FRESH pineapple has the enzyme bromelain which breaks down food for you. It works beautifully! I keep a fresh pineapple cut in the refrig and eat 1 or 2 small pieces before meals. I never burp anymore unless I am away from fresh pineapple."
