[YEA]  04/14/2007: Robert from Honolulu, Hawaii writes: "Was having numerous outbreaks of boils last year. It started after neglecting a bout of heat rash which turned in to a jock itch, then the boils started coming. My stress level was high and felt my immune system getting low due to long hours at work and little sleep and poor nutrition. Was looking for info on boils and came across this site and turmeric. Had some turmeric in the spice cabinet and tried some. Could tell it was doing something because of feeling flushed after a few minutes. Liked it so much started to use it in capsule form. Did not get any boils since then. It's been since December. Also joint pain in my finger has greatly diminished. Started taking my vitamins and supplements again and after a couple of months started feeling normal again. Also, two days after starting on my vitamins and turmeric, my jock disappeared never to return so far. And I used about five cans of the Jock Itch Spray during a couple months trying to get rid of it. But still have a little problem with a planter wart on my heel. Due to long hours standing, seemed to turn the heel a little discolored. Looked around for info on heel getting discolored but have not found anything. Been soaking it in a Tea Tree Oil bath with a little improvement. Also been using tea tree oil as a shampoo and been noticing new hair growth on my head after a few days. Good product. Thanks Ted for all the great info you share with everyone. Mahalo from Hawaii"

04/09/2007: Pranathi from Vegas, USA writes: "Just wanted to add that turmeric is used in India on infants as well with good results. Babies are regularly bathed with turmeric paste to prevent infections (not on the head though, since it prevents hair growth). The quality of the turmeric must be checked though and the infant's skin watched carefully the first few days after using. A harmless side effect is that it colors the skin/nails for a while. A pinch is also put on the baby's tongue and used to clean it."

[YEA]  04/08/2007: A. from San Francisco, USA writes: "Turmeric worked. About a week and a half ago my mother developed some boils on her legs. since it was the weekend the doctors office was closed. My mother doesnt have any health insurance.so I went on this site to look for something that can help her for the next few days until I could get her in to the doctors. I went to Albertson and they didnt have it, so I went to GNC and purchased Turmeric tablets for about 22.00 dollars. she started taking it and I checked in with her everyday for about a week. She was amazed that she felt a lot better (she couldnt even walk before) and was walking fine. She went to the doctors and they told her she to take antibiotics for 20 days. She did tell me that she is truly amazed how these tablets worked. thank you for you wonderful site!"

[YEA]  04/01/2007: Karen from Manchester, N.H. writes: "I have had a condition called Hidradentitis for over 15 years. I have been treated with antibiotics and antibiotic creams all this time with little to no lasting effects. My doctor wants to perform surgery to which I have said no because there is an 80% chance of reoccurence. Imagine my shock when a friend told me about this site and I read with interest many letters regarding using turmeric to get rid of this problem. I was in the middle of a flare up and started using turmeric on March 22, 2007 and within days it began to subside. It is now April 1 and I continue to take 3 capsules per day and I am almost completely healed. It has been an amazing journey for me as I never thought I would see the day that this would clear up. I was not a believer of the holistic approach to cures but after using this for less than two weeks and to see the results I am a believer. Keep up the great work and I will continue to use your site and have recommended to family and friends. Sincerely, Karen"

[YEA]  03/29/2007: Debbie from Lincoln County, OK writes: "I am now in the 3rd week since beginning turmeric. I am taking 600mg, 3X daily and my boils/blisters are almost gone. YEA!! My family reminded me that it was not 2005, but 2004 that I began getting boils-a long and horrible ordeal. I am working to raise my PH level to help the cure. Thank God for this site, Ted and all those who've posted! I am getting my life back and it's great!"

[YEA]  03/26/2007: Eddie from Midlands, United Kingdom writes: "Turmeric + Boil = Cure! I've had an annoying boil for about two years. Nothing would shift it! I knew what made it worse, though; alcohol and caffeine drinks. Luckily I stumbled across this site and found the turmeric cure. Rather sceptically I gave it a go and after just a few doses it's gone! I'm going to keep taking it for a while and it's a good blood purifier anyway. THANK YOU so much for this site and for everyone who recommended turmeric. I'm also using apple cider vinegar as that seems to be a cure-all, too!"

[YEA]  03/25/2007: Greg from Melbourne, Australia writes: "My problem initially started as the swelling of a small lump I have always had. It's size increased dramatically over a week or two (it's on my back and I'm unsure how long it had been getting bigger before I noticed it), so I went to the doc to get an opinion. The doctor said it was just a cyst that had become inflamed and was nothing to worry about. She didn't seem to sure of herself though, so I took that information with a grain of salt.

Anyway, it continued to get bigger and more uncomfortable and also started to redden so about 2 weeks after my first doctor visit I went to get a second opinion. This second doc told me that it was an infected hair gland and prescribed antibiotics. I've never been a fan of antibiotics but I was worried with how this problem was going, so I started taking them dutifully, 4 times a day.

They appeared to do nothing and the infection got much worse very quickly. It was now very uncomfortable, dark red, and about as big as a small plum. It also started weeping so I went back to the doctor as I had been instructed, and he expressed some puss from it and told me to keep it covered and keep taking the antibiotics. He also told me to book in with a surgeon in case it needed lancing, which I did.

Antibiotics doing nothing and not looking forward to the thought (and cost) of surgery, I started looking on the internet seriously. I found this website and read the turmeric solution (Honestly I thought, right. Turmeric powder, how is that going to help??). I figured I had nothing to lose, so on the way home I got some turmeric from the supermarket and some tea tree cream. That night I had a glass of water with a large teaspoon of turmeric powder in (tasted terrible!). I took a shower and poked around at the lump. It expressed a huge amount of chunky puss (made me feel rather ill). Cleaned it up and then went and lay on the floor in the lounge with a hot facecloth with tea tree oil on my back and a hot water bottle on that. after about an hour of that it had expressed still more puss. I cleaned it and had it bound with some of the tea tree cream as well and went to bed.

In the morning it had gone down by about 50% and was also less red and less painful. I was amazed. Expressed a lot more in the shower, had another drink of turmeric, and went to work. Same treatment in the evening (it was looking slightly better than it was in the morning), and then by the next morning it was looking much better. The skin about 3 inches all around the lump had been red and hard and was now not. Bump was almost totally gone and was only expressing slightly.

So basically, four glasses of water each with one generous teaspoon of turmeric powder in and I am almost entirely rid of a really unpleasant infection!

$150 on doctors visits and no cure vs $1.90 on a bottle of turmeric powder. I know which way I'll be going in the future! Thanks very much for the information. Absolutely amazing. :) I should have known better than to doubt. There's a natural cure out there for everything!"

[YEA]  03/11/2007: Nate from Hollywood, CA writes: "Reporting back. Found that the turmeric worked well. Took about 10 days. Spoonful of the stuff in warm water. Down the hatch. Every night before going to bed. I stopped using the campho phenique as I don't like the smell. My idea was vitamin E mixed with cayenne pepper powder made into a salve. Onto the boil - cover up with a bandaid and tape to hold it in place. Off in the morning. This seemed to help too. Note that my boil was not broken, and never broke. I think the cayenne on a broken boil would sting something awful, so not a good idea or recommended. I only have a small bump left, from a boil that was almost the size of a quarter and hurt like heck. Hope to get rid of this remainder soon. Thanks for your wonderful site. Very appreciated."

[YEA]  03/03/2007: Kate from Midlands, UK writes: "I have had a boil at the top of my buttocks for a few days and tried my usual concoction of bergamot oil, lavender, chamomile, and tea tree. Alongside this I have been taking vit C, Vit B complex, chlorella, acidophilus, beta carotene and echinacea. Normally this works but seems to have failed this time, although the boil has suddenly appeared without any previous symptoms this time so am not sure if I started taking them too late. On top of this I have been taking homeopathic sulphur, belladonna and silicea. I was trawling through the internet and the turmeric remedy caught my eye. About an hour ago I took a teaspoon in a glass of orange juice (quickly) and have managed to sit down without the slightest twinge for the first time today. I will carry on through the evening with the teaspoon in orange juice but first thing tomorrow I shall be out to my local health shop to get the tablets. I really hope that this remedy works fully and means I no longer have to take the other concoction I was using. Thanks for the advice. It is the most truly embarrassing place to have a boil and I dread it reoccurring as the pain is horrendous. So all being well this is the answer to my worst recurring nightmare!!"

[YEA]  03/01/2007: Brooks from Daytona Beach, FL writes: "I've been suffering from monthly recurring boils for the past 6 months. Twice I've taken antibiotics and had the boils disappear, only to have them reappear a month or two later. This website was a blessing for me. I drank turmeric, took neem, and an Indian concoction called Safi. This did not make the boils disappear, but it made more stop from coming (before, without antibiotics, more boils would constantly emerge). I later bought Silver 100 from Invision International (seems to be the best one out there), and that has accelerated the healing process. I also had to eat yogurt, because of the detox-effect of silver. Yogurt happens to have acidophilus in it, which I've seen recommended here.

I have a tip on a 3-step external healing-process for a boil.
1) Use hot water to make the boil open,
2) Use baking soda to get rid of the infection and swelling (this is wonderful!), and
3) Use a mixture of turmeric and raw honey to accelerate wound healing."

[YEA]  02/28/2007: Taciturn Boy from Dublin, Ireland writes: "Dear Earthclinic team, I had been suffering from a very painful boil on my left hand index finger for the last 10 days and the boil showed no signs of breaking till yesterday. I luckily got into your website and read about some home remedies to help with the pains and swelling caused by the boil last evening. Last night, I started with the hot water compress and I continued it till this evening with a break of 4 hours between each compress. I also had a glass of warm water with a tea spoon of turmeric powder this morning after brushing my teeth on empty stomach. This evening when I had my second shower, the boil burst out with a mild press, releasing loads and loads of pus and blood. Damn it! It was so painful to take all the pus out. Now my pains are much better and swelling has gone considerably down. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning and I hope he wouldn't need to do any kind of operation other than the normal dressing on my finger. Thank you very much for your wonderful advice and I love this website so much. Regards, Tacy"

[YEA]  02/21/2007: Maria from Falls Church, VA writes: "I have suffered from boils in the groin area for the past ten years, many visits to the doctor, tried all possible antibiotics, warm baths, lancing and no cure. In January, I had about 8 boils in my groin area, I can hardly walk, went to the OBYGEN and she prescribed diocixalin a penicillin antibiotic, it seemed to help, the boils disappeared but still a small lump under the skin was still there. A week after I finished the antibiotics and no more boils, I thought that finally I was cured. Well not, the day before yesterday, I noticed that the boils were coming back, lots of swelling, redness and pain. Desperately, I started to do some research and I found your site, read about turmeric and decided to try it. In any event, if it didn't do good, it was not going to harm me either. I took the 1 teaspoon with warm water, yikes before going to bed, the next morning, I noticed that the swelling had gone down quite a bit; yesterday, I drank it with orange juice and it was easier to drink. This morning, the swelling pretty much disappeared as well as the pain. I will keep drinking it for at least two weeks, but so far I am satisfied with the result as this seems to really work fast and best of all naturally. I am grateful that I found your site. Thanks!"

Turmeric REALLY works!!! It works fastest if you begin taking it as soon as those boils begin to appear. Take 1 tsp./3 times a day with tea or warm water for 2 full weeks. DO NOT skip any days. I swear by this, it truly has helped my family and myself. Thank you for this remedy. Good luck!"

[NAY]  02/19/2007: CJ from Richmond, VA writes: "I have had a large cyst on my left leg for about a year. Last month, i started taking turmeric to make it better. I started with one capsule a day, eventually working up to 3 or 4. Turmeric hasn't helped at all and now i have found another cyst. It is a sebaceous cyst and I'm not sure if it is the same as a boil, because turmeric hasn't helped worth a crap. Is there a difference between sebaceous cysts and boils? And does anyone know what i can do about this? Also, haw many 450mg turmeric capsules is it safe to take at one time?"

[YEA]  02/12/2007: Cheryl from Peoria, IL writes: "My 9yr old daughter came to me a couple days ago with a very small pimple like bump on the back of her thigh. She said it hurt very bad when she sat down, so I thought it may be an infected hair follicle or something. I had her apply some heat and ice to it and I cleansed the area with antibacterial soap. The next day it was a small mountain on the back of her leg that was very swollen and hard. It had a head, so I squeezed it to rid her of some of the pain. Since draining it seems to cause the pain to subside a bit. Yesterday she woke up and it was even larger, it was near the size of a soda bottle cap. We had her apply heat to help with draining, and some ice to help with the swelling, plus more showers to wash it up with antibacterial soap. I went to work and returned 9 hours later, to find it was still as large as it was 9 hours prior. We did the shower thing again, and it started to drain in the shower on it's own. I came to the internet to find any help I could. It is hard to see a child in pain, especially because she had never had any type of skin imperfections ever before. I searched for "cure for boils", and I think your site was the third on the list. I checked out the other two, and still didn't find exactly what I was looking for. They were remedies I had tried in the past for myself, and I knew they wouldn't work quickly, if at all. So when I got to your site, I read everything there was to read and thought I need to try this. It was just a few minutes before the only grocery store in town closed, and I ran up there and bought 3 bottles of ground turmeric. I got home mixed up 1 tsp in a cup of warm water and had her drink it. She did not like the taste at all, but I encouraged her by drinking some with her. She finally got through it, and then it was time for bed. When she got up this morning I asked her how her leg was. We took off the bandage, and looked. I was absolutely stunned, I cannot even tell you how impressed I was. It was still a bit hard and red, but the swelling was completely gone. The entire back of her leg is now all flat, no more giant volcano back there. I could not believe my eyes, just 8 hours before that it was nearly a 1/2 high, and about as big around as a quarter and now it is flat. Also, I woke up with a stiff neck yesterday, rotating the mattress always seems to do that for me. After drinking the turmeric, the pain is nearly gone in my neck now. I thought it was odd coincidence until I looked up turmeric this morning and found it has anti-inflammatory agents in it. This is huge for me, as I don't like my family to take antibiotics and pain killers unless it is absolutely necessary. I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart! You are a Godsend!"

[YEA]  02/12/2007: Sherry from Wilmington, DE writes: "Hi, I wrote yesterday to tell my "boil story" and started the Turmeric treatment last evening. The swelling of the largest boil has now subsided at least 50%! It is not nearly as painful as it was yesterday afternoon. I also used witch hazel on cotton underneath of my arms and then put Betadine on them and covered with a bandage. Then I used the heating pad for a couple of hours on and off. The smallest of the boils have no more pain and have reduced in size, too. Thanks so much! Sherry"

I tried all the traditional cures I could find and eventually stumbled upon your website, and started to use Turmeric with great success. Looking back on my lifestyle changes over the last few months I noted that I had been eating high fat greasy foods and during lunch and after work had been having mixed drinks with the mixer being coke, club soda etc. I stopped drinking the alcohol and soda and began consuming large amounts of water and taking turmeric and the boils went away. (oh a side note, I see contrails everyday in the skies above my town) Just as an experiment I went back to my unhealthy consumption and the boils came back..."

[YEA]  02/09/2007: Dee from Auckland, New Zealand writes: "Hi there Stumbled across your site in desperation for a cure for reoccurring boils on my posterior. Very painful and embarrassing! Read the turmeric testimonials and immediately made up a vegetable stew/curry containing 2 large tablespoons of tumeric.Took to work for lunch and by the second day the boils (cluster of four) were subsiding and I could sit in my office chair without wincing. By day four, all that was left was a little reddened area and a small lump. I suffer from CFS as well and try not to over medicate as I seem to be so sensitive to everything including a reaction to penicillin and sulphur based antibiotics so am thrilled and sitting pretty. Have now saved your site to my favourites list. Thank you from New Zealand. Kind regards, Dee"

[YEA]  02/06/2007: Mary from Nevada City, CA writes: "Turmeric has been helpful for asthma, boils, and for infections. Twice this year my son had an infection on his foot or ankle. I applied turmeric ointment (turmeric mixed in coconut oil) and this was helpful - But he got better VERY quickly when I gave him a turmeric drink, as well. It seems very good to get the turmeric circulating in the blood stream to fight an infection. The ointment worked very well on a small skin problem of my own - a very small boil or something... "

[YEA]  02/02/2007: Sandra from Cincinnati, OH writes: "When I found this website, I was suffering with a large boil on my forehead at the hairline. It appeared to be growing and my entire forehead, eye area and cheeks became inflamed. I went to the emergency room and they gave me the standard antibiotic treatment. The inflammation in my face subsided, but the boil itself wasn't changing much and it appeared to be "growing" another smaller one beneath it!. That's when I RAN to GNC and bought some turmeric pills. I took 4 over the course of 6 hours, woke up the next day and the boil had diminished to 1/2. By noon, the smaller 2nd boil wasn't even noticeable! I am continuing use at this time but as many others reported here, THANKFUL for any homeopathic remedy! And, I like the scent of the spice. :)"

I have been taking Turmeric capsules 450mg 3times a day for 2 days.and using clear chrome to cleans the sore. It is not open now but was originally. I can definitely say the swelling has reduced. Will the knot ever go away and how long should I take the Turmeric? Is it Ok to use tea tree on the skin? thanks"
