HOW MUCH APPLE CIDER VINEGAR IS REQUIRED?

06/25/2008: Hugh from Mystic, CT writes: "I just want to know how much apple cider vinegar is required to bring down blood pressure, because i've been putting a tablespoon full in grape juice everyday and mine hasn't come down yet, but i did have a thyroidectomy and i don't know if that would have any effect on it or not."

LOOKING FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE RECIPE

05/09/2008: Mary-Beth from Assonet, Massachusetts writes: "A couple of years ago I was in California and I met a man who had very very high blood pressure in fact his doctor told him that if he did not sell his business that he would be dead in 6 months. Well someone that delivered parts to him had a wife that made this concoction and gave it to this man. He was to take 1 tbls. a day. After taking this tablespoon ( first one) his blood pressure lowered almost to normal. Well he kept taking and his blood pressure was great for as long as I knew him. I have since lost contact with him and I was wondering if you knew of such a thing? Like I said all he had to do was take one tablespoon aday and this concoction smelled like pizza or some kind of Italian dish, and was a green color. The only ingredient that I know that was in it was garlic and some kind of leafy stuff, which hence the green color."

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND DIABETES

04/02/2008: Jon writes: "My girlfriend's blood pressure is becoming higher and'uncontrollable. She has been on blood pressure meds for many years . The first # is approaching 200. When she gets upset it is really high. She is also type 2 diabetic and has switched to taking insulin for over 6 months now. Her joints are hurting her more and more now due to her worsening arthritis. She is only 55. Eight months ago I put her on a rebalancing program recomended from Kevin Treudeus book Natural Cures They don't want you to Know About. I sent them a picture of her and they send rebalancing frequencys to her through her picture. I thought it would help but everything seems to have gotten worse plus now the OBGYN is finding a growth in her vagina which we are waiting to get results for. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Frequency and vibrational therapy, usually works well, unfortunately it works best once all the biochemical imbalances are dealt with. I used to be an editor of frequency and energy healing long long time ago, and ended up NOT using it that often (only rarely) upon finding out that issue. The key biochemical imbalance' took awhile longer, and that turns out to be what aquarium shops has been doing for ages: pH issue or in human condition a much ignored problem, the metabolic acidosis.

It should be noted that the high blood pressure was initiated by high blood sugar. When blood sugar is high, metabolic acidosis exist. When metabolic acidosis and blood sugar are high, the immune systems is suppressed. When the immune system is suppressed, mycobacterium (source comes from vaccination, pneumonia and moldy houses), causes arthritis along the joints, but it is the ligaments that a staph like bacteria attacks, which causes the joints to fused, damaging the ligaments along the joints.

Staph like bacteria generally reverses itself if the body has sufficiently high levels of magnesium. The magnesium I used is magnesium chloride, because it is cheap, but magnesium gluconate, magnesium glycinate, might be acceptable. The dose for magnesium is about 500-1000 mg/day, but generally it works best at 1000 mg/day. However, I tend to spread out my doses something like 250/mg x 4 to keep the blood magnesium steadily high necessary to kill off the staph like bacteria. While the mycobacterium is generally harder, but I used 1/8 (womans dose) teaspoon of borax (usually I resort to 20 mule team borax) in one liter drinking water taken 4 or 5 days out of a week.

Most of the sickness in U.S. from high blood pressure are a conspiracy of disinformation, suppression, corruption and ignorance and it actually comes from chlorinated, fluoridated and aspartame products as being one of many the cause. For example about 70% of U.S. if fluoridated -actually it's 66%, but projections appear to be higher in the coming year due to consumer indifferences towards widespread fluoride use and many products are also fluoridated.

How this relates to high blood pressure is simple: halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine - in bread) basically displaces iodine. Iodine not only supports normal glandular process of the thyroid, but iodine is actually needed by most glandular process, including the immune system the thymus, and the adrenal glands which controls the blood pressure.

I can easily cause a person to go dangerously high blood pressure from chlorinated and fluoridated water too. But I can also easily raise a persons blood pressure from certain food additives such as sulfites and bisulfites (which neutralizes the key Nitric oxide chemical molecules responsible for blood pressure control). Bisulfites, and sulfites are found in many food preservative, even in wine and certain packaged foods.

So avoidance of chlorinated, fluoridated, sulfites, and aspartame products are necessary reverse normal glandular functions that control blood pressure. Now if I was a corrupted pharmaceuticals, I would exactly promote bromine, fluorine, chlorine, calcium and aspartame for the same reason that it causes people to be more sick.

But when you make some anti-inflammatory drugs, I can use create or tailor made any of these compounds that has anti-inflammatory drugs or psychoactive drugs (fluoridate, brominated, methyl esters - causing brain tumors) but at the same time causing a "planned side effects" of high blood pressure, sleeplessness, brain tumor and other conditions so people will buy more other drugs lines I got waiting for the consumer.

This planned side effects is a hugely profitable business racket, and as profitable than selling addicted drugs, only that it is legal and FDA approved. And to get them to approved, I merely do a study avoiding the certain planned side effects, by simply ignoring that and paying attention to the other 1001 things.

One thing aspartame was approved was that EVERYONE in research circles was ignoring the effects of higher blood formaldehyde and methanol after ingestion, while tumor growth can be manipulated. They also ignored the fact that aspartame can be used as a murder weapon, whenever you add plenty of creatine or simply Morton's salt, or an aluminum silicate compound in certain non-dairy creamer, causing the body's ability to rid of toxic chemicals to be stopped. When this happens, metabolic acidosis ensues, and bacteria and fungus grows after that initiating arthritis, and other interesting diseases necessary to get people hooked to drugs. Some people wonders why metabolic acidosis causes mycobacterium growth, but in a decaying dead organic matter, such as a simple leaf or a dead cat, the cells on a cat when they die accumulates carbonic acid and organic wastes, and the cells are now acid enough to fuel fungus and bacteria growth needed in the grand plan of mother nature of recycling. Unfortunately human activities with 90% of our foods being acid causing is causing people to be almost like the walking dead.

Therefore, it is best to avoid chlorinated, fluoridated, bisulfites, aspartame, and even white bread and white flour. As a food preservative and processing these white flour is high in bromine, alloxan needed to keep it white looking. I have found that eating white bread in general can raise, especially if someone with a diabetic high blood pressure to go precipitiously high within an hour or two after eating. Generally replacing rice instead of bread are generally safer, especially the brown rice.

The other thing I found is that there is a big differences between a common table salt and a sea salt. The primary differences is that a common table salt has aluminum compounds and other drying agents, which is the very reason why some common table salt has a pH of 5, instead of neutral 7. For sea salt, it does the opposite because its pH for an deep sea ocean sea salt, it averages 8, with ranges from 7.5 - 8.5. I remember one woman who complained to be that she was getting dangerously high blood pressure and obese, as well as becoming more hungrier after eating "healthy foods". The problem about this is that they overlooked the additives. The key problem of all nuts, is the salted nuts are made from common table salt nuts, whose pH, in that instance turns out to be a very acid pH 3.5! Both acid and common table salt causes precipitiously high blood pressure. Nearly all processed foods used common table salt. It is rare that anyone will process a food from sea salt.

Oily foods made from vegetable oils are a real problem. The reason why I find vegetable oils a big problem is that once ingested it goes IMMEDIATELY in the blood stream. These trans fatty, oxidized, free radical vegetable oils also sponge up free heavy metals from pots and pans during cooking. Once it goes into the blood stream it blocks hormonal signals. Some key hormonal signals are involved in blood pressure control and once they are blocked, the blood pressure are higher. Another big problem is there has been so much talk about fat soluble vitamins that accumulate in the body, but there is not mentioned at all that fat soluble vegetable oils accumulate in the body a lot more - you take it nearly everyday of nearly every meal. When this happens, it destroys the liver, causing fatty liver or cirrhosis. When liver is obstructed, blood pressure goes higher.

Finally people need to understand the researchers are light years ahead on blood pressure issue, but these people are reluctant to publish for fear of ostracism, which dries up their research funding as well as loosing their job. Luckily I have nothing to loose, so I can tell you some of the things I know how the body controls blood pressure.

Most blood pressure control is regulated by three gaseous chemical messengers, which is hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, and carbon monoxide. During stress and during the day, or when the person is active, the nitric oxide is needed to control blood pressure in much larger amounts. While during sleep, nitric oxide plays a much more smaller roles, and hence hydrogen sulfide molecular signals plays a more important role in reducing blood pressure, by slowing down the cellular metabolism. The carbon monoxide is the third chemical messenger is used whenever the body needs higher blood pressure. Only a very tiny amount of these are needed. But interestingly the brain cells (glial cells) produces sodium nitrite, which degrades in low or constricted blood vessels where CO2 (carbonic acid) or organic acid are higher than average, to form Nitric oxide gas. When nitric oxide gas is released, the blood vessels expands immediately, causing lower blood pressure. But here is the deal: if the body is metabolic acidosis from taking aspartame, acid foods, acid forming foods the sodium nitrites DEGRADES BEFORE reaching the target area. When this happens the constricted vessels get constricted and the blood pressure remains high. This is why a baking soda works. It works by preserving the Sodium nitrite from degrading into nitric oxide BEFORE reaching the targeted areas. And therefore baking soda may lower blood pressure whenever metabolic acidosis exist. Actually a medicine has been develop that uses sodium nitrite or even nitroglycerine, which causes the body to have lower blood pressure and protects heart attack. Unfortunately no one is marketing it since you can't patent it. The other thing is sodium nitrite used alone, or even nitroglycerine tablets used alone won't work in lowering blood pressure during sleep, without a hydrogen sulfide producing chemicals only in very very small amounts such as parts per billion. Of course there is a way around this. Sulfur compounds, such as egg yolk, soy milk taken in the later part of the days causes the cells to relax, as is granulated lecithin.

Therefore to resolve high blood pressure:

1. Blood sugar should be lowered as the main issue. Aspartame raises blood sugar. Anytime a high blood pressure occurs from diabetic blood sugar, aspirin immediately reduces it, usually within 30 minutes to 1 hour, taking between 250 mg to 500 mg. To reduce ulcers effect, it is very simple: dissolve the aspirin in a glass of water, completely. The effects of dilution of aspirin cannot hurt the stomach lining. But it can reduce or kill off certain pathogens that is causing the arthritis. It does that by the effects of trace acetyl salicylic acid (aspirin) dissoving the pathogens. Pathogens get killed a lot easier with small amounts of aspirin than much like a tiny ice cube completely dissolves a lot faster than a giant ice cube (healthy cells). If aspirin is taken, other things must be taken to reduce other possible side effects, as well as synergism, such as vitamin C 500-1000 mg sodium ascorbate, and magnesium supplements. Aspirin if taken together with vanadium and chromium supplements increases the bioavailability, causing lower blood sugar, which results in lower blood pressure. The other thing that is important towards control of blood pressure is to reduce liver's obstruction, such as fat emulsifers, of granulated lecithin, taken on an empty stomach one tablespoon three times a day.

2. Alkalized. So that the baking soda will have more positive effects in reduction of blood pressure at the same time lowers sodium retention, another alkalizing variation is the sodium potassium alkalization as follows:
1/2 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate plus 1/8 teaspoon of potassium citrate (or potassium bicarbonate) in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day.

3. Timing. The timing of certain events in eating food can lower the blood pressure. The key issue is generally to eat an EARLY dinner, before 4.30 p.m. Thereafter, one cannot eat any more dinner except water, baking soda, lecithin, green tea, and others.

4. For the arthritis, alkalization of extremities generally work better along with anti-staph and anti-fungal remedies. The alkalization of extremities remedy is:

1/4 teaspoon of sodium carbonate plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda taken three times a day, in 1/2 glass of water

the anti-staph remedy requires 1000 mg of magnesium gluconate, or magnesium chloride a day, but usually the doses is divided up to 250 mg x 4 times a day to keep a blood magnesium high enough to effect a killing

the anti-fungal remedy is usually 1/8 teaspoon o borax in one liter of drinking water a day, plus some 10,000 i.u. vitamin D3 (at least) and mannose supplements or some xylitol to prevent the organism from attaching to healthy cells.

5. Vitamin F, or flavaonoids. A black unsweetened chocolate used for cooking is taken about 10 grams once every two weeks. I have found the hard way that vitamin F flavonoids found in chocolate reduces the bllod sguar

6. Vitamin B1, B3, and B6 at 100 mg each reduces blood sugar, taken once every two days, and B50 or B100 b complex is taken once a week. I could never get the exact scheduling to be perfect, but this is the best I can do so far. Vitamin B complex causes the brain cells to normalize from damages caused by hydrocarbons, benzene, and aspartame. When brain cells are damage, there is a possible problem of high blood pressure, since it is the brain cells that produces sodium nitrite from glial cells.

I may forget a couple of things here, such as soy milk is ok, at least for me if taken in the later part of the day. Soy milk raises hydrogen sulfide, during cell rest and during sleep.

There is one blood pressure that is not measurable by current medical practice, while it is easy to measure Diastolic and Systolic, there is another one which exists in the spinal fluid columns. It feels like your head is going to explode despite normal blood pressure. The spinal fluids "pressure" - the third form of pressure that can also cause hydrocephalus and other conditions are initiated whenever the brain is acidic. Most of these comes from peroxynitrites (found in bologna, cured meats, salami sandwiches since sodium nitrite in high cooking temperature become cancer causing peroxynitrites. The other damages comes from artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sweet n low, etc. which causes the brain to be acid. However the major culprit came from the white bread perhaps from the alloxan bleaching process, bromine bleaching processes, or even propionic acid used as preservative to prevent mold growth. When spinal fluids are raise, in some cases it raises the blood pressure LATER. The best remedy to reduce this spinal column fluid pressure, or brain fluid pressure, which under normal conditions, prevent hydrocephalus, is the baking soda. The remedy for that is usually 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/8 teaspoon of potassium bicarboante in 1/2 glass of water taken three times a day..

I could not possibly cover all the problems needed to control the diabetes, but I can say that there is a couple of ways I can easily be diabetics and avoiding these are most helpful:
1. aspartame
2. steaks and overcooked steaks
3. Common table salt (contains aluminum and it is acid pH of 5)
4. Certain food additives, sulfites, chlorine.
5. Vegetable oils used in cooking (i replaced at my home using coconut oil completely!!) This one HELPS a lot with me.
6. Fried foods and any foods that use vegetable oils
7. Non essential Halogens such as bromine, fluorine and chlorine.
8. Sugar, maltodextrin, corn syrup, glucose. they also worsens arthritis.

The best remedy that lowers the blood sugar and stress for me is once a month unsweetened chocolate, eaten only small quantities, vanadium supplements, chromium supplements, once or three times a day granulated lecithin, and most of all, BAKING SODA, with sometimes added potassium citrate or potassium bicarbonate.

I am certain I forget many other things, but this I think should be more information at least to get started"

ACV, LEMON, BAKING SODA, AND TINNITUS Q'S

03/27/2008: Joy from Birmingham, AL writes: "Re: questions from PL, Naples, FL, and G. from Palo Alto, CA, where they both had high blood pressure. One was told by her doctor never to take baking soda with high blood pressure, and G. asked if ACV or lemon could be taken with high blood pressure. I did not see where Ted addressed the issue of taking baking soda with high blood pressure? I, too, have high blood pressure, and take a prescription tablet daily. Until I know for sure, I am hesitant to do anything that may cause a "nightmare" problem like PL, Naples, FL, had. Can you address this?

Also, can you comment on what causes ringing in the ears, and what can be done about it?"

WHY DID PRESSURE SHOOT UP SUDDENLY?

03/09/2008: Glenda writes: "I need your help. How can I lower my blood pressure, which is at an average of 141/85. Always been at 120/70, now it's risen..??? Per your suggestions, what can I take that will drop it consistently? Also, I have a quantity of disodium salt of EDTA. How much should I take per liter of water to quickly result in a roto-rooter cleaning of my arteries? i.e., a quick oral chelation? Best, Glenda"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Glenda: In a disodium EDTA I used only 1/8 teaspoon plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda per liter of drinking water. The disodium EDTA and the baking soda acts like a soap in dissolving fats that clogs the capillaries.

It should be noted that some understanding of how the body controls the blood pressure is in order. The body controls the blood pressure by two chemical messenger signals called the nitric oxide and the hydrogen sulfide. These two causes lowering of blood pressure, while it is the third chemical messenger, the carbon monoxide, that I have observed causes the blood pressure to go up. There is an interplay between these three. One to raise using carbon monoxide, and one to reduce using the hydrogen sulfide and nitric oxide. The body carries the chemical messenger of nitric oxide in the form of sodium nitrite, as I remember them, to the target vessels where the lowered oxygen and hence higher acidity causes the breakdown of the sodium nitrite into nitric oxide. It's the nitric oxide that controls the blood pressure by causing the blood vessels and capillaries to expand, whenever we are in "active mode" or during our wake cycle, or daytime hours. Interestingly, the hydrogen sulfide is synergistic with it. A chemical analogue of the hydrogen sulfide that I have experimented is sodium sulfide, in small traces of parts per million in an alkaline medium is stable, but in and acid medium, the solution breaks down to parts per million hydrogen sulfide (H2S) which causes the cells to reduce metabolism and REDUCE oxygen consumption by protecting the cells from oxygen damage. So it is this H2S that reduces free radical damages in the extremities of the body. It is not suprising why diabetes have their legs cut off because the lack of H2S (which we can use a topical solution to stop that) can reduce cellular metabolism lowering the oxygen damage. Hence forth, H2S works best in lowering blood pressure during the human resting cycle or nightime circadium rhythm. It is this reason why nitric oxide don't work well during rest and it needs H2S during sleep. It's also this reason why blood pressure medicine simply don't work on systolic pressure, but only on diastolic.

Therefore once I understand the mechanism of blood pressure and the importance of alkaline, there is a minor technical feature that the extremities and low oxygen environment, under the influence of a high metabolic cells needs the hydrogen sulfide food, as well as the need to lower the carbon dioxide pressure. The two things that can do that the best is simply soy milk (where sulfur creates trace hydrogen sulfide) and to reduce CO2, either a sodium citrate (technically a correct word is TRISODIUM citrate) or sodium carbonate (a precursor of sodium bicarbonate) is also added.

Therefore a night time soy milk without sugar, plus baking soda and some sodium carbonate is needed to effectively reduce both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure - the natural way anyway. However, it must be noted that it is the eating of acid forming food that causes the quick decay of nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide from reaching it's intended target.and it is why alkalizing is most important. Therefore, all acid forming foods should be avoided after 4.00 p.m. to the night since acid forming food would effectively prevent the body from properly alkalizing it. Thus only vegetarian, salads, and soy milk are drank after 4.00 p.m. and all oily foods are avoided at that time too. The reason why oily foods are avoided is simple: oily foods block hormonal control and B.P. problems is the greatest during the night time. A diabetic high blood pressure is dangerous during the night time and if that emergencies should happen, the best remedy in lowering blood pressure due to diabetic or high blood sugar has always been the aspirin. It saved some people lives so many times over I lost count.

In a disodium EDTA I used only 1/8 teaspoon plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/8 teaspoon sodium carbonate per liter of drinking water. The disodium EDTA and the baking soda acts like a soap in dissolving fats that clogs the capillaries. The granulated lecithin a tablespoon is taken three times a day to reduce oil's impact too. Disodium is always acidic and it is why a baking soda must be added.

It is extremely important that I must note that if I have a high blood pressure problem the major blood pressure is usually due to chemical additives found in bread, alloxan, bromine process, propionic acid, and trans fatty acids are one of the highest in the bread. I have also found active yeast to be present and molds in the bread too, which simply raise blood pressure hours after eating it. Replacing the food with other grains such as rice don't seem to cause that problem, but I have also found that many vegetable oils to cause raising of cholesterol levels since these are ubiquitous and now found in nearly every food. Replacement of these with coconut oils simply is quite effective in normalizing blood pressure and reduce cholesterol. However reducing cholesterol through statin drugs might be dangerous in that it reduces HDL and LDL. Therefore I would take egg yolk...the yellow portion, partially cooked where it is till liquid and avoid the white yolk. The HDL is needed to be raise while the source of LDL i found is from rancid vegetable oils. Many people may not smell rancid vegetable oils because they can't go rancid because they are trans fatty acid. When they get oxidized they become harmful to the body. Because of their low boiling point, the oil is harmful, while it sops up heavy metals from cooking pots and pans. Oils are always like that, and we acquire more heavy metals, causing free radicals which further cause more LDL.

Therefore avoiding white bread, white flour, pastries, sweets, trans fatty acid. But only for the dinner hours I think require avoiding all acid forming food, plus taking plenty of baking soda. Some people, especially in Western culture have a religion against soy, while the Asians have been drinking soy milk for the last thousands of year with no problem on certain claims that drinking soy milk causes large breast in men, due to estrogenic effect of soy. The problem is pubmed, the estrogenic portion of the soy acts as an adaptogens, it doesn't cause disequilibrium. The other argument is if a woman wants to have a larger breast, taking the pill or estrogen hormones won't work. It's always the progesterone that causes larger breast, not the estrogen. Estrogen causes people to be fat. This is why taking The Pill causes a woman to be fat and hence high blood pressure. Therefore, the real issue of the problem is the bisphenol A, that is found in nearly all canned foods with plastic lined in them that are highly estrogens and accumulative that causes one to be fat, and high blood pressure. Therefore avoiding canned food is one of them.

The other things that should be considered besides eating rice instead of bread is the problematic common table salt. These pH are always 5, and are acid, perhaps from the aluminum compounds used to keep the salt nice and dry looking. These raise high blood pressure, while on the other hand a sea salt doesn't have the same effect, because it's pH is about 8. Therefore a sea salt should be used some and completely replaced with common table salt. To replace the LACK of iodine in a sea salt, I always try to add 5 drops of lugol's solution, an iodine we used as a mouthwash every morning so that it gets absorbed in tiny amounts whenever I do the mouthwash. The lugol's solution can be added between 2 - 5 drops per liter of water to sterilized them in place of usng chlorinated water instead.

Finally some vitamin C sodium ascorbate 250-500 mg and lecithin further helps reduce plood pressure. The lecithin does that easily because it's a fat emulsifier. A vitamin C allows collagen to be produced causing the blood vessels to be more elastic instead of brittle which protects against the dangers of high blood pressure."

LOW-SODIUM BAKING SODA

01/01/2008: D writes: "Hi Ted, I have high blood pressure and worried about using bicarbonate of soda with ACV. I was looking on the web for a low sodium baking soda and found one that has calcium carbonate as its ingredient.' The directions say to use twice as much as regular baking soda. Do you think this is a decent substitute to alkalize the ACV? Thanks"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear D: I would much prefer to buy a blood pressure meter (I have three in my home) and just try out baking soda and acv. In most of my observations, it won't have a effect on blood pressure and quite often it lowers it. The problem has a lot to do with the chlorine component in the salt rather than the baking soda as well as certain hydrocarbons from pollutants in the food, and other dietary preferences.

The biological system is fairly sensitive in its cellular fluids (see Ringer's Mammalian solution and has to be kept in a very delicate balance - most microbiologists are well aware of this but absolutely unknown by medical doctors) and has to have 20% more sodium than chlorine in a normal cellular fluids.

If the chlorine of the salts are high in the diet, the body attempts to alkalize by retaining more sodium. This also happens when one uses chlorinated water from shower and swimming pools, whereforth the use of sodium thiosulfate will reduce some free chlorine. I have seen blood pressure to rise in sulfites, chlorintes, and obesity from just using daily swimming pool too, leading to higher blood pressure.

However, in presence of sodium bicarbonate, the sodium chloride gets displaced by the body, lowering the blood pressure, of the chlorine in the sodium
chloride.

It has to be noticed that I have high blood pressure and was helped greatly with baking soda. In another instance, most of the problematic high blood pressure came from the use of vegetable oils (they are low boiling point compared to coconut oil) in cooking plus the use of sugar and salt mixed together is the real problem.

Calcium carbonate is quite bad and it messes up the body's extracellular fluids as the calcium has to be kept low in relation to both sodium, bicarbonate and chloride in a normal body fluid systems.

To use calcium carbonate will create other problems, such as bladder and kidney problems as the diet create calcium oxalates, leading to kidney stones.' I won't use calcium carbonate in general as it causes me to not be able to urinate normally and raised higher blood pressure on several occasion from the edema as kidney stones are formed.

I would therefore do myself a favor and just buy a blood pressure to test whether the baking soda and acv does indeed raise it or not. A small amount of potassium citrate usually 1/16 or 1/8 can displace the sodium also, but must be added along with the sodium bicarbonate. A sodium can't be substituted, if potassium is used, since the body is quite sensitive to potassium, especially without the sodium. People can get heart problems (heart racing, fast beating), if potassium were used alone. Death row inmates are injected with potassium to cause heart attacks, calcium chloride added can cause clotting and faster death. In blood banks, they add sodium citrate (this is another form of baking soda where the body metabolizes citrate to bicarbonate) to prevent blood clots otherwise the blood recipients die as blood cells clot, by removing calcium from participating in precipitation and clotting, which leads to heart attack. Harvey Team (Team of doctors who tries to revive a person of a heart attack in I.C.U.), will inject a large syringe (quite large!) into the heart in an attempt to revive the heart, using baking soda.

In the use of baking soda, I have never seen it raised, but I can say that certain foods, does, which includes french fries, cheese, cakes, bakery product and many canned foods. Sugar and salt don't mixed, neither is cured meats. Heavy dinner were quite dangerous on the high blood pressure. If a suitable substitute does exist of non sodium than it has to be magnesium bicarbonate (but this is impossible to find) is used instead. I can't even use potassium, unless the sodium is added, otherwise an imbalance also exists, but magnesium is generally benign. Another suitable replacement will be the magnesium citrate. The body needs a magnesium: calcium ratio of 2: 1, but magnesium in general is missing from the diet. A lot of people I know who can't pee, when I investigated, turns out the calcium was added into the supplement (calcium carbonate), which lead to calcium buildup in the kidneys as well, leading to edema which resulted in death in one case.

Maybe I have some biasness because of my background as a former biochemist and microbiologist, so what I can say "officially" is to "follow to physicians as directed", just to avoid the politics of medicine"

POTASSIUM CITRATE EQUIVALENCY

12/13/2007: P from New York writes: "i am having a hard time finding potassium citrate or bicarbonate to use of the high blood pressure formula, the only thing i have been able to find is potassium citrate in a pill form. the mg is 256.3, not sure what the equivalent would be, you state only 1/8 of a teas. about how much is this? can you help? thanks"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "

1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus the 256 mg potassium

citrate (which is a little over 1/8 - close enough) in pill form

should be sufficient and added together when alkalizing plus 1/2 glass

of water. What it does in reduction of blood pressure is to prevent

sodium nitrite produced by the body from degrading too quickly so that

it can decompose in areas into nitric oxide at the intended target so

the intented blood pressure reduction is seen. Besides alkalization

eat an early dinner is the best recommendation I have seen in avoiding

the high blood pressure, plus one daily tablespoon of lecithin, mixed

with food preferably and avoiding fructose (corn syrup) product, as it

raises the blood's triglyercides. Lower cholesterol is seen whenever

vegetable oils are avoided and used coconut oil for cooking since it

is poorly absorbed. Extra virgin olive oil can also be added to

cooking instead of general cooking oil and calcium supplements, no

french fries or any fried foods"

PRESCRIPTION DRUG CONFLICTS?

11/28/2007: S from Houston, Texas, USA writes: "I was very happy when i find this site. I am diagnosed with GERD,high blood pressure and diabet 2 and I take med for them. Please can I use this remedy( 2 tab ACV+1/4tsp bak.soda) at the same time I take med for B.P and Diabets? Thank you for the great job You do for the people and for your time. Sincerely S___ ____, Houston,Texas,USA"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Apple cider vinegar and baking soda is considered a food and used in cooking, and hence the remedy can be used together with anything. However, if the GERD is quite bad, a stronger remedy such as 2 tablespoon of ACV plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 (or 1 glass) of water is needed, taken twice a day.

It should be noted that one tablespoon of granulated lecithin helps some reduction with the blood sugar by reducing the free fatty acids. All heavy meals and fried food should be avoided, especially french fries, potato chips and meats."

HERBS AND REMEDIES NOT WORKING

10/16/2007: John from Clarksville, TN writes: "I sat here reading your post and Im happy for those who it did work for. However, I'm still trying herbs with no remedy and I'm worried that there isn't a real answer out there. I have tried 6000 mg of garlic, 3 Tbl spoons of acv, Hawethorn berry, virgin coconut oil, etc.. None of these worked for me. Does anyone know of something that really works? I need help desperately , my bp is out of control and of course I fall within 40 million of individuals who can't get insurance. Thanks if you can help."

10/20/2007: Jennifer from Windsor, CA replies: "Blood Pressure suggestions for John from TN-- You mentioned you've tried various herbs without success...have you tried organic cayenne pepper - not the stuff you buy at the grocery store as it's too weak and may have chemicals & pesticides. Staying well hydrated with pure/filtered water is very important in addition to walking 1/2 hour everyday. One site you may want to check out is herbdoc.com Best of luck to you!"

TED'S REMEDIES

09/07/2007: ST writes: "Dear Ted: Upon your recommendation I ordered some B-complex powder and some Natural Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) 400 IU.

I take powdered B-complex 1/4 tsp ( 50 mg of each B-vitamin + 50 mcg of B12) once a day with Food. I also take Vitamin E off and on. And Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbate)

I just measured my heart rate. The reading was 76 BPM which is lot better than 100 BPM. So looks like the Vitamin B.,C and E are working. I also take some cod liver oil (vitamin A&D) couple of times a week. The B-complex makes my urine bright yellow. (due to B2). I am also taking 1 mg of extra folic acid. Thankyou."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Both the B complex and the magnesium will reduce the pulse rate (BPM) however, vitamin E which is an antioxidant reduces the body's need for oxygen and the heart can beat at a more normal rate as the body's antioxidant levels are up. The same is also true for sodium ascorbate. Usually acidosis can also cause the pulse rate to be high as excess acidity reduces the blood's ability to retain oxygen too."

CHECKING BP AT HOME

08/24/2007: M from Zimbabwe writes: "Hi Ted May kindly assist with following the questions:
1) can one use oil pulling using cooking oil, how do I do it and its benefits.

2) I have been on white vinegar and water for my hbp close to 4 weeks now, can I check my own pressure without necessarily viting the doctor as the fees are too high in Zimbabwe. I once read about using the left rist and right thumb but cannot remember the details. Please kindly assist. M."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "A very simple way to check for high blood pressure is by lying down flat on the bed without any pillows. If the pressure on the head is high, then the blood pressure is high. Using the wrist method is not as accurate as lying down flat. People with low blood pressure naturally wants to sleep with no pillows or very low pillows, otherwise they have problems (usually 95/60). While people with high blood pressure problems may use as many as 3 or 4 pillows so that they can sleep (blood pressure here can easily go over 150/100).

Blood pressure for me can easily be reduced by avoiding oily foods and getting a diarrhea from taking laxative medicine, and using apple cider vinegar plus baking soda remedy twice a day. Potassium bicarbonate and baking soda (1/8 teaspoon of each) in 1/2 glass of water twice a day, I think would be more effective, but obtaining them is not as easy in some countries.

Once the liver is no longer congested, the blood pressure sometimes go down. I also reduce such liver congestion sometimes by taking a drop of clove oil mixed in one liter of water, and sometimes also taking 1 tablespoon of granulated lecithin a day. Sugar should best be avoided especially when sugar and common table salt is used for cooking. A sea salt for me is generally safer, at least its' pH is alkaline, while common table salt are more dangerous because they are acid."

ACV FOR BLOOD PRESSURE

07/28/2007: CA writes: "Dear Ted I have begun to take the ACV with honey for my blood pressure and after 5 days am feeling confused. I went back into the site and realized that many who use the ACV for hypertension initially have a spike. My inquiring mind would love to understand why. Is there an answer for this? I am a paramedic and would be interested in the patho and am hoping that understanding will give me hope that it will eventually work. I am also taking cayenne and cinnamon. (Not at the same time of course) Yuck. But throughout the day I try to get a dose of each down me. Thank you for any insight."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The initial increase is due to the sugar spike coming from the honey. Those can be reduced by adding a glass or two of plain water. The sugar content of the honey can bring up the blood pressure by high osmotic pressure of the sugar, whether they be honey, fruit juice, etc. The worse of the sugar is the glucose, followed by fructose, and then sucrose. Actually ribose sugar are the worse as it accelerates glycation of the cells accelerating aging at the same time. Boron supplements from borax certainly slows that down the AGE (advanced glycation end products), which is why borax is added to the sugar in dried flower.

I would much prefer to alkalize myself using the two tablespoon of apple cider vinegar plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass water taken twice a day.

The body works this way, from the sugar point of view: apple cider vinegar does have some sugar (very small), but generally not enough IF the apple cider vinegar were sufficiently diluted with enough water. The urine sugar is about 2% so if it is higher than that figure, it will raise the blood pressure.

Basically the sodium transport systems pulls glucose and sugar into the body raising the blood pressure. So if honey were added to the apple cider vinegar that would eventually raise them despite cinnamon and others, since their mechanism of sugar control is different via insulin and other pathways. The best ways is simply to reduce the sugar input as much as possible.

In mice tested raise on "cafeteria diet" or typical western diet, which is generally high in BOTH sugar and fats (ham sandwich, turkey, meat loaf, pizza, etc.) causes the liver to be congested as the sugar and fats blocks liver's normal uptake of the amino acids and proteins by (my estimate) 3 times. The amino acid plays an important role in detoxification, and without sufficient normal detoxification due to improper diet, the liver becomes congested, resulting in the high blood pressure spikes.

If I am DETERMINED to take apple cider vinegar with honey. I would at least diluted it with sufficient amount of water so the sugar level falls below 2%, which is equal to the amount of sugar in urine or at least a blood sugar that is within normal biological parameters. I think 2% is still too high and for me it appears to be closer to 1% to 1.5% without disturbing the normal body's fluids. Foods we eat should be within close blood terrain both in pH, alkalinity, solubility and buffer capacity. Unfortunately this is never the case. Our foods is too oily (more oily than your own blood can be congesting to the liver), and too much sugar, and lack sufficient dilution and lacking in emulsifier content to deal with the foods we eat.

In general, blood pressure goes up under the following conditions - this list NOT complete, but provided as an example:

1. Sugar and COMMON table salt
2. Sugar from any source (this includes fruit juice, honey, table sugar, etc.)
3. Fatty and oily foods (french fries and potato chips).
4. Acid forming foods.

The body controls the blood pressure by hormonal actions and one thing scientist know for so long, but never out publicly is that free fatty acids, oily foods blocks normal hormone actions. Hormones, generally works best whenever the liver is not fatty, less oils. The body's osmotic pressure is high whenever sugar and COMMON table salt is high in a solution resulting in obviously high blood pressure.

An interesting effect occurs where sea salt is taken, as those contains alkalinity and has some generally lowering of blood pressure to its pH being typically between 7.5 to 8.5. The alkalinity and acidity issue does have an effect on osmotic pressure, but this issue has not been investigated that much. However, acid forming foods causes congestion and constipation. It is that the urinary pH becomes acid and constipation goes hand in hand.

Therefore ideally I would much prefer some foods that restore normal bowel movements, since humans typically eats three meals a day, ideally it should be closer to three bowel movements whenever the body's alkalinity is optimized where the urinary pH is about 7.0.

Therefore, to make things simple, I would prefer to remove the honey, just take the apple cider vinegar with baking soda and dilute it WITH PLENTY of water. If it does not work as well as EXPECTED, I would add a pinch or two of sea salt (NOT COMMON TABLE SALT), which amounts about 1/16 to 2/16 of a teaspoon. Those will initiate some bowel movements lowering the blood pressure. As a side note, I can decrease my blood pressure by diuretic actions (such as urea supplements and amino acid rich foods) or alkalizing actions of alkaline forming foods which stimulate bowel movements. As the wastes becomes less harden and more liquify the body's water retention is hereby reduce."

HIGH PULSE RATE

07/28/2007: S writes: "Hi Ted: sorry I have bombarded you with emails. Hope you get some time to answer a question which is bothering me. I could not find this answer on internet or EarthClinic MY BP is low 100/70 but my pulse rate is around 100 bpm. What could be causing this high pulse rate. Please tell me how can this be fixed and what are the consequences of long term high pulse rate. I have been doing your alkalizing drink lemon+baking soda or ACV+baking soda for almost 2.5 months now. I have read, Magnesium can help with high pulse rate, but everytime I injest Magnesium, I get wierd bloating and very liquified bowels, not sure why. I have tried like a small pinch of Epsom Salt and Magnesium citrate powder with similar results. Even hydrogen peroxide ( only 1 drop of 35% H2O2 in a large glass of water) makes me bloat. What can I do to bring my heart rate down. Right now I am doing the following

1. Drink 1 liter of lukewarm water with 1/4 tsp of Sea-salt first thing in morning ( helps with constipation)
2. 1 TBSP of granulated lecithin each day
3. Lemon+Ascorbic Acid+BS+water at bedtime
4. Cod Liver Oil - 2 tsp a day
5. Oil Pulling with Sunflower Oil + 3 drops peppermint oil- 20 mins twice a day. ( to fight Keratosis Pilaris)

What else can I do to lower my heartbeat. I am looking for your valuable advice. Thanks Ted. I have seen and met lot of holistic healers and you are simply the best with the most complete knowledge."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The reason for the bloating are due to a couple of things, by no means this list is not exhaustive, but the ones I encountered the most is whenever the body is ALREADY badly deficient in magnesium, the bloating and diarrhea effect is stronger, as in your case.

The other case is the concentration of magnesium being too strong, where it is taken in capsules, or only a small amount of water. If it is sufficiently diluted with a lot of water such effect would be reduced greatly. For example 1/16 teaspoon of magnesium citrate in one full glass of water, and drank slowly over a 15 minute period. Or in an extreme case (very rare)the 1/16 teaspoon of magnesium citrate is mixed in 1 liter of water and drank throughout the day. The signs of bloating even on a small amount of magnesium is usually a sign the body lacks it based on my experience. And with sufficient taking of it for a month or two, the body quite often no longer becomes bloated.

As to the rapid heart beat I had one woman who is persistently low blood pressure at 90/60 whose bpm is about 100 (approximately!). The remedy was a simple one which consisted initially of 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt (NEVER COMMON TABLE SALT!) as the sea salt component and the BPM were disappeared entirely within an hour. Of course, everyone is different, but the components in sea salt has some magnesium, potassium, and bicarbonates being the main electrolyte components (more like electricity) that normalizes the heart beat.

Whenever electrolytic imbalances occur the heart beat becomes irregular or skipping. However, this is not the only cause, vitamin B complex is also helpful, as it regulates the nerves and is synergistic with the magnesium electrolytes (it's the vitamin b6 and magnesium in case you are wondering).

In case of that woman's condition it was initiated by sweating too much an the loss of valuable electrolytes such as magnesium, potassium and bicarbonates. Certain micromineral may be implicated as well as loss of water soluble vitamins, such as vitamin C and vitamin B complex. You loose a lot through the sweat, it is no surprise why athletes and tennis players have a heart attack. Part of the problem is the loss of these electrolytes, amazingly the marketers have sports drink that only have potassium and bicarbonates, but misses out completely on the magnesium and trace phosphates, which is also a required electrolytes. One particular micromineral that is loss that might remotely affect heart is the selenium.

Even with sea salt remedy taking the other electrolytes that, if I have it, I would consider taking taking some sports drink (they put too much sugar) or better is to find some potassium bicarbonate and magnesium citrate. Still, I prefer the magnesium citrate more so than the epsom salt because the citrate form of magnesium has an alkalizing effect on the body. It should not be forgotten that vitamin B complex (100 mg kind) I would also take it three times a week and found to be quite helpful for my own rapid heartbeat and may also be due to a vitamin B deficiency as well.

Taking some baking soda by alkalizing can also slow rapid heart rate since alkalinity helps slow down heart rate, while acid forming foods causes rapid heart rate also. This happens because whenever the body is low on oxygen (acid body is has lower oxygen as carbon dioxide accumulates) so the heart tries to compensate the low oxygen by rapid breathing and heart beat. The body can reduce oxygen requirement if vitamin E was also taken as antioxidants work that way.

As to your questions:

1. Drink 1 liter of lukewarm water with 1/4 tsp of Sea-salt first thing in morning ( helps with constipation) 2. 1 TBSP of granulated lecithin each day 3. Lemon+Ascorbic Acid+BS+water at bedtime 4. Cod Liver Oil - 2 tsp a day 5. Oil Pulling with Sunflower Oil + 3 drops peppermint oil- 20 mins twice a day. ( to fight Keratosis Pilaris) What else can I do to lower my heartbeat.

As mentioned before I would try the vitamin B complex three times a week, vitamin E twice a week, add some potassium as well as magnesium but it is to be diluted in water.

Those are the general remedies for rapid heart beat. Toxicity of the liver might remotely cause it and I would consider a couple of drops of 10% sodium thiosulfate, such as 3 -12 drops in one glass of water (it's those dechlorinator clearly labeled sodium thiosulfate found in aquarium fish shops. It detoxes the liver, however, they should be taken a couple of hours apart from the hydrogen peroxide drops as the thiosulfate opposes the detoxification actions of peroxide. Thiosulfate reduces toxicity by chemical neutralization of oxidative chemicals, while the hydrogen peroxide neutralizes them by actions of oxidation. The reason why the peroxide and the thiosulfate are at least a couple of hours apart is that the peroxide (in the usual low dose) stays in the blood for about an hour. So the peroxide is generally taken first as a result, since thiosulfate, in my opinion persists a while longer in detoxifying the liver. Thiosulfate reacts with oxidant toxins thus reducing the heart beat, if assuming the liver is full of toxic chemicals from consumer products that accumulate during the lifetime."

REGIMEN FOR ACV AND BS

05/25/2007: MH writes: "Ted, Question: To use the 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda mixture for lowering high blood pressure, is it best to take it before or after meals? Should it be taken continually every day or should there be a day of rest from it? Is taking it morning and evening normally sufficient?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The minimum that is used is the 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. Those usually helps. The best times to take, is first thing in the morning and before bedtime. Other times, I have found to be problematic.

The only way to determine optimum dose is to get an electronic pH meter and measure the urine where the ideal urine pH is close to neutral, at about 7.

There are many supplements out there that has diuretic effect and have blood pressure lowering effect is alpha lipoic acid. Granulated powdered lecithin has an effect by lowering blood pressure by reducing fatty liver buildup through fat emulsification which reduces that problem, and since oils block hormonal function (they are the single most important element in the body's homeostasis and blood prssure), then the blood pressure reduces.

The best ways is to avoid fried foods, rich foods, in the dinner time. A real problem food I found were cheese, hamburger, sandwiches, white bread, white flour, pizza, ice cream and sundae. They are acid forming food, generally speaking"

ACV SIDE EFFECTS?

01/09/2007: Ma. Teresa from Manila, Philippines writes: "Through a friend I've heard that apple cider vinegar plus honey cures high blood pressure it's their family secret for youthful look and BP maintenance. Her mother who's in her seventies will breezily pass as a 58 year old woman. She was the one who gave me the the ACV+honey recipe. I willingly gave it a try because of healthy appetite I find it hard to lose weight and I get anxiety attacks which causes my BP to shoot up 180/90. Without these anxiety attacks my BPs normal range is 110/70. I've been drinking this ACV plus honey for a week now and I feel sleepy. I always want to sleep, there's some weakness too and slight fever. Is it possible that I have hidden illnesses that are being treated first. I was diagnosed for Upper GI reflux before, mild depression and high blood pressure, are these illnesses being treated by my taking of ACV plus honey thus my yearning for rest and sleep before I bounce to good health. I will certainly appreciate comments from you. Thank you so much."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Ma Teresa:

my taking of ACV plus honey thus my yearning for rest and sleep before I bounce to good health.

It is usually the honey, but the acv has an alkalizing effect. Basically the body needs plenty of sleep and rest during the recovery phase, often 1-2 weeks before things normalizes. The anti-aging effect comes from the calming effect and some people are used to being over active which is why they age quicker, the fuse simply burn out faster from too much burning.

The best gauge is the urinary pH, often 6.5-7.3. This will tell you whether you are in an optimum range or not. Most of anti-aging effect, actually comes from the bee pollen of the honey and the malate and acetate (as well as micro minerals) in the ACV. If you really want to get down with more anti aging, then royal jelly is another element, where the vitamin B5 pantothenic acid component, which controls the skin is helpful. I have recently found iodine painting also helps regenerate newer skin too.

The older skin just peels off by itself. The glandular systems should regenerate as well and hence the anti-aging effect. Most of these phenomenon is well known in research circles, but the language they are using just confuses a lot of people. Actually most people die young from immune system related disorder, cancer, pneumonia, heart disease, emphysema, AIDS, and other "disease" rather than looking younger."

NOTHING IS WORKING!

12/01/2006: Tina from Arcadia, KS writes: "I have a question. My husband has been dealing with high blood pressure for a while. we have tried everything we have read about, with just a small amount of positive. Weight loss, Hawthorn, garlic, ACV, polyfusia, niacin, vit c, diet changes, etc, etc. We got it down from 235/170 to about 170/100. Any more suggestions? He has been working hard at this for 6 months now. We really don't want to go to a medical Dr. Thanks"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Tina: So you have tried to reduce blood pressure by :

Weight loss, Hawthorn, garlic, ACV, polyfusia, niacin, vit c, diet changes,

What I think is important which forms the basis of a lot of our health is controlling your urinary pH within acceptable parameters, which means between 6.5 - 7.5. This means adding some baking soda to the ACV would help. The usual dose is 2 tablespoon of ACV plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, which is taken 2-3 times per day on an empty stomach. It needs a couple of weeks use to kick in, however take it 4 days out of a week is the preferred solution that works best.

Vitamin C is only in the form of sodium ascorbate works the best. Avoiding bread and white flour along with obvious sugar and preprocessed foods seems to have a dramatic effect since they are acid forming food. Green vegetables and whole fresh fruits should make about 70%-80% of the diets, by weight and the rest is meats. No fruit juices, the blood sugar increases too rapidly.

The other one which I think is important for both sugar control and normalizing hormonal control is to take 1 tablespoon of granulated lecithin with every meal.

Finally, you can add a couple of drops of peppermint PLUS 1/4 teaspoon of Natural Sea Salt. Most sea salt these days do not follow the standard ratios of the natural sea salt, but generally, but i wouldn't worry about this at the moment. Generally, it will replenishes which every TRACE mineral deficiency you have. The peppermint is actually diuretic and should help reduce the blood pressure.

Whenever MY blood pressure is a problem I often add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon (1/4 tends to be sour) of disodium EDTA per liter of water, but without the sea salt since I have detected the presence of heavy metals in the urine from old faucets, pipe fittings which will reduce a lot of free radical heavy metals.

In dire emergencies of an explosive high blood pressure, if they were of diabetic in nature, often taking an aspirin will work within an hour of normalizing the blood pressure. The other ones that I found quite good were clove oil, maybe 1 toothpick dipped into a glass of water, since they are so powerful for most people.

Other remedies for quickly reducing high blood pressure that I found useful personally is 200 mg of alpha lipoic acid plus biotin and taking a strong black coffee. Believe it or not, coffee is antioxidant, I have a Oxidation Reduction Potential meter which shows that coffee are in the negative values, which means it is food. Sounds strange, but you must recall that Edgar Cayce, the famous psychic who healed countless number of people made the same statement. However, I use them only when I need them, and this doesn't include, keeping me wide awake. I used them simply to control my blood pressure. This is of course if I want to reduce blood pressure quickly. It seems to cause diuretic throughout the day.

There are many other remedies in my head for further reducing high blood pressure, but those are the ones I used the most and had the best track record so far!"

FLUCTUATIONS IN PRESSURE

11/17/2006: Amrit from India writes: "I am 35 year old male, living in India. Not always, but sometimes my blood pressure goes up to 150/110 and sometimes as low as 90/60. I am a vegetarian and read books a lot. I work on computer for long hours. I am living all alone and there is no one in my family. Please suggest your valuable remedies. Thank you very much."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Amrit: Certain diets can cause high blood pressure and low pressure to fluctuate a great deal, you would be most help by taking protein supplements, lowering carbohydrate and high glycemic diets. One way to know your condition is to measure your urinary pH. This will at least give some indication whether your diets are acid or alkaline forming food. What I do know is certain diets in India where fruit intakes and eating of beans, legumes have high amounts of thiocyanates. Thiocyanates blocks normal function of the thyroid function and certain adrenal functions.

As such blood pressure that you mention is of no surprise. The best way is to take more seaweed and iodine rich foods, while lowering thiocyanate rich food and high bromine foods, such as flour, bread, pastries and the like, since bromine tends to replace the body's store for iodine. Iodine painting your feet 3 days a week, done every week should help restore the iodine problem.

Also you must be aware that certain parts of India, such as Bangladesh or nearby, the drinking water are high in arsenic, therefore drinking pure water is essential. It would really help if you test the heavy metal for mercury, cadmium, arsenic, as the water especially groundwater are contaminated."

ACV SIDE EFFECTS?

10/11/2006: Bekey from Swieqi, Malta writes: "I took ACV for high blood pressure. After taking ACV regularly for 2months, 3 tumblers with 3 tablsp. acv and water, I had to stop because I was getting palpitations and could hear my heart beat pounding in my head. I also became very short fused and irritable. I stopped it for 2 days and the palpitations and pounding heartbeat has lessened. Could there be a problem with ACV in that it raises blood pressure in some instances?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Bekey:

I had to stop because I was getting palpitations and could hear my heart beat pounding in my head.

Some people have other deficiencies, and long-term taking of ACV is not recommended, since it can create the problems of buffer deficiencies, which is bicarbonates. In fact taking anything in too long is not wise either! Your body does need a rest, such as fasting once a week. When you work, you do need a vacation. When you stay awake long enough, you need to sleep.

So if you take the acid ACV, it will react with the body's bicarbonate to get you acetates. The body needs a certain amount of bicarbonates and plays a prominent role in maintaining your body's pH. And acetates is helpful to your body too, but bicarbonates plays more prominent role then acetates.

If you want to take something that is safer, you need to add baking soda to the ACV. Basically, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1-2 tablespoons of ACV, taken twice a day. You can add sodium ascorbate or ascorbic acid powder (Vitamin C) of 1/8 teaspoon. Should you add vitamin C, add a little more baking soda to neutralize the pH of the solution.

The other problem might be that your body does not agree to certain brands of ACV. Some people are allergic to organic vinegar, and yet some are allergic to the non-organic ones. There is no absolute. Just switch brands, but also add baking soda to prevent bicarbonate deficiency.

Could there be a problem with ACV in that it raises blood pressure in some instances?

Yes, when your body is allergic to a specific brand of ACV. You might have vitamin and mineral deficiencies, lacking bicarbonates in the system.

So to stop such problems, switching brands of ACV, taking vitamin and minerals now and then and adding baking soda should resolve most of the problems you have.

In some instances, I have seen people do not like ACV, but the body prefer just distilled vinegar. The one specific vitamin that I have seen to help is an alkaline form of vitamin C, sodium ascorbate since it balances out the acid of the apple cider vinegar. Also it seems vitamin B complex is a much unappreciated vitamins, but have an enormous effect on the body's energy level also."

DOSAGE FOR A TEENAGER?

09/26/2006: Vinnie writes: "Hi Ted, Just found out yesterday that my 18 year old son has high blood pressure, 160/100. The doctor wants to put him on some stuff called Toprol (I think that's how it's spelled). My wife and I are very concerned with side-effects and feel it would be better dealt with through diet and natural methods. I saw Earth Clinic and numerous testimonies for the effects of ACV and Bicarbonates to lower blood pressure. What would you recommend for a dosage for an 18 year old who's never had something like this??? Thank You so much for your time. Vinnie"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Vinnie: You try to mix 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/4 ascorbic acid for you son in one half glass of water. He needs more vitamin C and his antioxidants status appear low and this causes water retention.

ACV will lower the blood pressure too but you need to add some baking soda. ACV is unique in dissolving fats and other things, while alkalizing is one way of reducing blood pressure. The reason is that in an acid body environment, the body tends to be oxidized and it must retain or build enough antioxidation in the liquid enough not to damage the cells, but at the same time, this causes high blood pressure. So if we can raise the antioxidation status, blood pressure will be reduce. Avoid chlorinated and fluoridate foods, they are oxidation process as well as fried foods and snacks. These are commonly high in heavy metals. In my opinion the first formula should work better, based on my recent findings.

For an 18 year old who has never tried this, you might get diarrhea. So the important thing is to start slowly with once in the morning and once in the evening on an empty stomach. Do not eat after taking this by at least 1 hour. So we can avoid diarrhea associated problems."

ACV SIDE EFFECTS?

09/01/2006: Bekey from Swieqi, Malta writes: "After taking ACV regularly for 2months, 3 tumblers with 3 tablsp. acv and water, I had to stop because I was getting palpitations and could hear my heart beat pounding in my head. I also became very short fused and irritable. I stopped it for 2 days and the palpitations and pounding heartbeat has lessened. Could there be a problem with ACV in that it raises blood pressure in some instances?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Becky: If you intend to take ACV for long term use, you should now and then add baking soda to neutralize the acid. Long term use of apple cider vinegar might cause your body to be depleted of bicarbonates. While it is true that apple cider vinegar and vinegar helps reduce blood pressure, it is also important that your body also needs some bicarbonates as well. The body needs a fair amount of buffers including both acetates and bicarbonates and all this can be corrected by adding some sodium bicarbonate to the mix. Preferably 1/4 teaspoon twice per day of baking soda taken with ACV or taken mixed with some water should help.

The other issue of "irritability" is that your body needs some vitamin B complex. Most psychological problems such as irritations often arise from this deficiency and taking vitamin B complex should eliminate the issue of irritation or irritability as well. If it still does not work, just take one partially cooked boiled eggs where the yolk is still liquid and this should help relieve some irritability. The pounding headache should be gone within the next day by taking about 1000 milligram of sodium ascorbate, which is an alkaline form of vitamin C.

It should be stressed that the reason for ACV's and good old vinegar arise from the ability to reduce weight and blood pressure arise from its ability to dissolve in the blood stream or the digestive track of excess oils your body receives. A remarkably simple way is to try to avoid unnecessary eating of vegetable oils that you cooked or fried foods and take some more healthy oils of fish oils, evening primrose oil, or flaxseed oil, taken occasionally should help. ACV usually work better then plain vinegar by the virtue of malic acid content which is not found in regular vinegar. What malic acid does is it gives you more energy. But this does not mean vinegar doesn't do the job, it does the job quite well.

Recently I have a feedback from one person who claims of low blood pressure, upon inquiry, I found the woman was taking a lot of pickled foods, but yet do not consume any fresh fruits. As a result, to raise her blood pressure was simply a matter of just eating less of the pickled foods (vinegar) and eating more fruits. Of course if she was in a hurry, then taking some 1 teaspoon of sugar plus 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt would do the trick."

Co-Q10 FOR LOWERING BLOOD PRESSURE

MH writes: "Thank you so much for your reply. I am taking the AVC and baking soda in the morning and at night. I would like to ask you one more question. What is your opinion of Co-Q10 for lowing the blood pressure? It was recommended to me by a person at Vitamin World."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The effects of reduced blood pressure is not as dramatic as getting normal bowel movements (2-3 times per day), and normal avoidance of heavy meals during dinner and not eating after 5 p.m. Sweet foods and fried foods are the biggest culprit and fructose are notorious, especially if the foods added used common table salt. First thing I would do is replace common table salt with sea salt. The common table salt causes high blood pressure, due to its pH being 5, while sea salt actually does the opposite as its pH averages between 7.5 - 8.5, which is alkaline and reduces blood pressure. Part of the problem of blood pressure (besides hormones, which are expensive, with possible exception of DHEA) is actually the acid forming food. Ice cream and sundaes and fried foods are the worse ones. I control my blood pressure by taking plenty of baking soda to get urine pH of 7, and I also take alpha lipoic acid which also reduce blood pressure. The reason is alpha lipoic acid if drank with green tea (no fructose, no milk, no sugar) is a strong diuretic, and those at least for me were more than enough to get a reasonably good blood pressure. Sometimes DHEA helps in that it also increases bowel movement and those help reduce blood pressure as stools become more liquid. Other things that helped me reduce blood pressure is to avoid calcium rich foods. If people really bother to get hair mineral analysis, most people actually have too much calcium and low levels of magnesium."
