[NAY]  04/09/2008: Tim from Huntsville, Alabama writes: "I'm a 45 year old male. Slim, excercise 2-3 times/week, eat healthy, no alcohol. I've had primary hypertension since my mid 30's (150/95 or so w/o medication). Cholesterol has always been perfect. Have been taking Licinopril/HCTZ successfully for many years (BP=130/75). Have tried many non-drug cures. Decided to try to come off the medication using ACV. Bought the "natural" kind with mother and all that. Used it for 2 weeks. 2 Tablespoons with honey and water, 2 times per day. At end of 2 weeks tried to begin coming off of medication but pressure had shot to 160/95. Resumed medication and discontinued ACV. Didn't work for me. Any other suggestions? Higher dosage? I've tried all the homeopathic cures for my HBP. Nothing but medication has worked. I've kept my Dr. informed of my escapades and the only thing he told me to continue is my fish oil pill I take daily. I also continue to take a calcium suppliment and glucosamine (for joint pain) and a multivitamin every other day. I was able to cut my medication pill in half over two years ago by adhearing loosely to the DASH diet. I eat a bananna every day and normally either an orange and sometimes an apple. Eating much more leafy green veggies too. Baked salmon at least once/week. A fairly healthy eater but I still eat red meat 1-2 times per week. Tried years ago cutting down on red meat but was later found to be borderline anemic. Started eating more veggies after that as well as a little more red meat. Would like something like ACV to work. Any other ideas about dosage, etc.?"

10/04/2010: Kay from In The Valley, Ca replies: "My mother has been taking blood pressure meds for years, and she has wildly fluctuating pressure. I asked her doctor one time if the meds could have a rebound effect and he said 'definately'. So you might consider that going off of the meds so quickly could be your problem. Maybe you should take it a little more slowly. My husband lowered his pressure 10 pts. top and bottom with ACV, 1tbl. 3 times a day, but he had never used any BP meds, so that was not a complication. Don't give up, I wish you luck."

[NAY]  03/14/2008: Hope from Sacramento, ca writes: "I just wanted to warn folks about the possibilities of increasing blood pressure DUE to oil pulling and acv therapy. I loved oil pulling, but a week after starting it (once a day), my blood pressure went from 140/95 to 250/150. I had to go to the ER fearing I might have a stroke. I had also been doing acv therapy (2 tablespoons in water twice day) at the same time. I was under medication for my bp (20 mg accupril).Perhaps it is possible that they both might remove medication from the body? I stopped both therapies and thought perhaps it was the acv, so 2 weeks later , I tried one session of oil pulling and my blood pressure went sky high the next day : 236/120 ! I made yet another trip to the ER to avoid stroke and heart attack. I know many people have had great success with both healing modalites, but apparently some of us cannot tolerate the unexpected consequences. I would encourage anyone with high blood pressure to do only one modality at a time and go very slowly, keeping a close eye on your bp readings!"

But, since tuesday I have been taking 2Tbsp ACV in 8oz of water three times a day.Am I taking the correct dosage? Is there any other thing I should add? Can I take ACV & priscription Lisinopril and hdrochlorothiazide 20mg/12.5mg together? I stopped the priscription two days before starting ACV. Due to the long term side effects. Help my ME STOP MY BP RISING ANY FURTHER. This is scaring me. Can I use the drug and ACV together until it comes down before I can control it with ACV. What do you advice I am confused? I started having this a month ago and I have only taken 30 tablets and decided I am not going any further."

06/15/2008: Teresa from Northern Indiana, IN replies: "Perhaps it wasn't a good idea to completely quit your meds before starting ACV. Tapering them down while using the ACV may have been more successful. I imagine it takes awhile (a few weeks) for the full benefits of ACV to start.

Also, have you considered adding baking soda to the ACV. I trust Ted, and he is an advocate of this formula - 2 TBS ACV and 1/4 tsp baking soda in 1/2 glass of water.

Some people don't like the baking soda added, but I would think in your case with all those meds you were taking, you may be rather acidic.

Just my two cents . . hope things are better for you."
06/17/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "Sorry you're having a bad time with your blood pressure. Yes, there is something else you can take. Ask your pharmacists for Beelith tablets and take 1 tab 2 x d. These tablets are a combination of magnesium oxide and vitamin B6. No prescription needed."

[YEA]  02/11/2008: Mark from College Station, Texas writes: "I've got to tell you, I was a HUGE skeptic about home remedies... but taking ACV for high blood pressure has been absolutely amazing!!

I found your site a little over a week ago. My blood pressure had been high for quite sometime...in the 160/95 range...I kept telling myself I could "live" with that. But about a month ago, it started spiking to 180/100 and 185/105...and that scared me...to say the least!! I have always worked out...I'm not terribly over weight...maybe 20 lbs...and I eat fairly good. But I have a somewhat stressful job and I'm definitely a "Type-A" personality...so when it spiked I knew I had to do something.

I started using ACV 6 days ago...and today, when I came home from the office for lunch, my bp was 141/83!! I am amazed and so grateful!! I started noticing a difference about two days after I started taking it.

While it is nasty tasting and smelling...I have found that taking 2 tablespoons, three times a day worked great for me. I measure 2 tablespoons into a glass... about one tablespoon of honey... and down she goes. I chase it with a protein shake!!

I praise God I found this site. Isn't it amazing how God's gifts always seem to work best!!"

Not only did it lower my pressure (My doctor was shocked at how low it went) It also cured my anxiety and a wart on my hand that i had for over a year. I tried everythin except going to the doctor to have it froze off. ACV made me a New person. Everyone at work said that i have more patience and am more relaxed. It is the Greatest thing since the invention of the wheel. I put a teaspoon full in a glass of water."

I feel great but my problem is with my Blood Pressure, I am taking a new job in Iraq, but my bp has to be under 135/90. just went to the doc's today and it was 160/90. I was so discouraged but after further research I read about the organic " BG " acv with the mother, I will try this now and see what happens in a couple weeks. Like I said, stay away from the " HZ " brand, as this has no effect on bp."

[YEA]  08/23/2007: Joanne from Chicago , Il. writes: "49yrs. old and have HBP I am delighted about coming across this site. My doctor won't give me the time of day unless I go on hbp med's. I really do not want to go on medicine. My average blood pressure ranges from 140/95 to 130/80. I am taking ACV once a day, 2 tblspns of ACV mixed with O.J. I am charting my bp readings. I get nervous when I take my readings. I can't help but wonder if this can alter my readings. I am amazed at how many different readings I can get on my bp within a 10 minute time span. For example: Today @10am my readings were as follows: 144/71 130/93 124/78 138/89 124/83 My pulse rate starts out high: 119 but gradually as I beging to relax it comes down to 78. Quite an assorted range. Which reading do you use? Should I only take one, Doc. said to always throw out first reading. I am taking other various natural supplements too. I do yoga and meditate and exercise. I will be interested to see if acv helps. Should I be adding baking soda to this? Does baking soda help alkanize your system."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  08/16/2007: Mike from albany, new york writes: "I'm trying to lower my blood pressure without using medication. I made a tonic using 1 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 cup honey, and 5 garlic cloves. I take 2 tbsp in the morning with juice. Initial results were almost immediate and dramatic. Within days my blood pressure dropped from 150/90 to consistently less than 140/85 . I was thrilled, but the lower readings only lasted three days. Now, three weeks later, my blood pressure is frequently back at 150/90. My diet, exercise, etc have all been reasonably consistent throughout the period. Sure wish I knew what caused the good results and subsequent reversal. Natural variation? Tonic aging? Me aging?"

[YEA]  08/14/2007: Lynette from Keller , TX writes: "I became aware of high blood pressure about a month ago and at that time realised it may have been running high for many months. I had had a high reading twice at the dentist but didn't realise it was of concern. My husband monitors his BP so I had him take mine and it was 132/95. That was exactly four weeks ago. I immediately cut salt out of my diet and probably get less than 500 mg of sodium all day. I cut out sugar in most all forms and began eating lots of veg and fruit, I try to swim and do yoga most days or workout at the gym. I started drinking 2 tsp ACV with honey and distilled water 2 - 3 times a day. Initially with the honey my BP spiked high again and I had a day of feeling really bad. I switched to sweetening the vinegar with stevia and after four weeks my bp reading today was 104/68 - it has been steadily decreasing since the first day of altering my lifestyle. It has read as low as 98 /64. The biggest reductions seem to come from the ACV and from hot yoga. I do feel wonderful, best I've felt in years . The ACV has cleared up an annoying allergy that I have had for at least two years now. I have been doing oil pulling too for the past couple weeks and it also seems to help. Not quite sure which is doing which but I know I have more energy , better focus in addition to the bp reduction. I am 51 and have fewer symptoms from menopause as well."

[YEA]  08/10/2007: Joe from Beaumont, California writes: "Wow! I do not believe it! Had a double by-pass in 2004 and have been on blood pressure medication and medication for acid reflux for years. After I had some side effects from both medications decided to try ACV and garlic pills. Although my blood pressure without medication was only 135/85 my doctor wanted it lower than that because of health history. There was no doubt in my mind that ACV and garlic would not work! Well, dummy me! It worked and worked big time! I have waited 2 months to post my story because I wanted to be sure. Had appts with two of my doctors yesterday and my blood pressure wast 110/72 and later that day 106/70. The big bonus for me was my acid reflux disappeared. I take 2 tablespoons of ACV in a glass of water and a 6,000mg pill of garlic every morning. Try it! You have nothing to lose. It worked for me and hopefully it will work for you.I also should add that I monitored my blood pressure several times daily to make sure it was working. Good luck"

The cancer spread into my throat. My face is swollen, my eyes are puffy, and I have dry mouth and skin. I feel weak and look pale. Last week, I read a post on your site on how apple cider can lower high blood pressure. Since My blood pressure was constantly high, I tried it. Ever since my BP is normal. I have been trying to regulate it with just a few supplements with varied luck. The doctor said it was holding around 146/88 or so. So two nights ago I started sipping the "recipe". I use 1 shot glass of ACV to same of Aloe Vera juice or gel to 8 oz water and a heaping spoonful of raw honey. Today my lowest reading. I was cleaning and sat down to take the reading. It is a battery operated cuff and I do a little deep breaths before starting. My pulse was 79 and my blood pressure (checked it twice) was 123/64 then 118/64... Something is working... In addition I have lost the brain fog and my energy level is starting to climb."

[YEA]  06/03/2007: Kathy from Richfield, Ohio writes: "In January of this year I was getting headaches and an uneasy feeling---feeling out of sorts. I am a nurse, so I had other nurses take my blood pressure and it was elevated 160/90. This just added to my anxiety because, as a nurse, I know of the devastating effects of not treating hypertension. A coworker has been on a health kick and swears by a 'tonic' that helps 'everything'. I too decided to try it. I mixed 1 cup of _______ vinegar, 1 cup raw honey and 8 cloves of garlic in a blender for about a minute. I then poured it in a clean glass pickle jar, put the lid on it and kept it in the fridge for 5 days. All this time I was checking my BP and was getting consistent readings of 150 to 170 systolic over 86 to 94 diastolic. On the 5th day, I shook my 'tonic', poured 2 tablespoons in a half glass of low sodium V8 and did this once a day for 2 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks, doing NOTHING differently except taking this everyday, I have a miracle to report. I no longer have headaches when I'm running up and down the halls, no more uneasy feelings----and the reason? My BP is back to normal. My readings are now 120 to 130 over 78 to 86, over and over again!!! NO ONE WILL EVER TELL ME THIS DOESN"T WORK ---I HAVE PROFESSIONAL WITNESSES! About 90% of the staff on my floor are converts....Something so simple with none of the side effects my patients are on with some drugs we dispense like candy. Don't be foolish---see how good you feel after a few weeks on this stuff....I feel like a kid again and even sleep soundly! That in itself is worth a million bux."

[YEA]  06/02/2007: Joel from Ottawa, Ontario writes: "I am a 49 year male that has bordered on high blood pressure for some time. I do not smoke, am not overweight and have always done some level of exercise. I do have a family history of HBP. My last visit to the doctor I had a BP of 157/101. My wife (an RN) confirmed this over the next two days. The instant solution was to put me on drugs. I refused wanting to do some research and see if there was some way I could take control of this problem. I found this web site and with some other info I gathered, I changed a few things: 1. I have been taking ACV - 2 tablespoons with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and a bit of water 3 times a day for 3 weeks - hint: plug your nose with your fingers, drink up and don't let go of your nose for about 10 seconds; 2. I have been taking one 6000mcg allicin Garlic pill per day; 3. I take one low dose 81 mg aspirin when I go to bed; 4. I have been walking 30 minutes per day; and 5. I cut salt right out of my diet. I went out bought a good automatic BP monitor and have been keeping a log of my BP with 3 readings per day at my doctors insistence (to prove I should go on medication). My BP as of 10 am this morning is 121/78. I am sure it is a combination of things but thought I should let other skeptics like me know that there is something real about this natural black magic, but you must commit to making a few changes. I will return to my doctor in a month with my BP log and we agreed at that time we will decide if I should go on BP medication. I hope to continue on this path and have one heck of a surprise in store for him. I'll keep you posted."
