Dee from Oakvile, Ontario, Canada writes: "I have been drinking 2tbsp ACV/3x per day for 9 days now. Notice some change in my evening BP but my morning reads are scary. This morning it was 156/102 (upon wakening) in the evenings (after 6) I'm averaging 135/85. I know that BP upon wakening is usually the highest (most heart attacks happen in the mornings probably linked to this fact). I really don't want to go on meds. Note: I've been using honey, maple syrup or splenda brown sugar to sweeten the mix.

Any suggestions as to why I'm not seeing results? Does it take some time (i.e. 2 or more weeks) in some cases? Discouraged when I read some people seeing immediate results. Has anyone else experienced a longer response time? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

[NAY] Dennis from Port St. Lucie, Fl writes: "Blog Readers

I must say that I am very disappointed in saying "No" to the ACV treatment for high blood pressure. The information was first given to me by my son, who has has seen a dramatic reduction of his HBP with the ACV with mother treatment. I have studied all the N/Yay's blogs on the subject hoping that it can prove to be a success for me.

This is my giving conditions. HBP 140/90; before meds of 10mg amlodipine, 10 mg Bystolic. (note the current meds reduces HBP (130/80))

I started with the regular store bought vinegar which did no show any results. I then consulted with my son and began usint the ACV mother. It appeared that within the first two weeks of use after re-cleansing or detoxing from my meds that I was feeling fine. Thus my confidence level was rising. I continued using the ACV and then bought larger 32fl oz bottle.

I have learned over time experimenting with different meds, and having done two colonoscopies to determine my gastroencyphlytic(esophageal) spasms to modify and manage my food intake. I say this to give background knowledge on the significance of proper diet and my awareness of food intake, which aids any ailments of the body.
Knowing this I was able to regulate my diet very well with the ACV; however when I bought the second 32fl oz with mother I began experiencing headaches, which is also a symptom of rising blood pressure. The headaches had started to increase at higher frequencies and lasting much longer. It was becoming unbearable, I took my BP with my home equipment and my HBP 150/94. I started to panic and was getting anxiety attacks. Luckily my wife always store the whole cranberries in the freezer to boil and make cranberry tea to minimize and relax the anxiety attacks. I immediately started to retake my meds.

It appeared that the headaches were not going away so I had an emergency visit with my family care physician. MY blood pressure was high HBP 152/96.

I got back on my meds and in two months have a follow up visit.

Although the ACV did not work for me I, would suggest that the readers of this blog follow up and monitor their condition should they notice a change.

Secondly I hope my message will encourage new readers that would like to try ACV to take good notes, understand their symptoms of HBP realizing that ACV may not bring the positive results they are searching for.

Sincerely
Dennis

Gregg from Petoskey, Michigan, USA writes: "Would like to know if anyone knows (or can direct me to a website) any information on my blood pressure and the significance of the readings. My readings always show a top number that is considered high and the bottom number is normal or below. Typical readings will be as follows: 140/80, 130/68, 120/62 depending on time of day. Is this worse/better (or insignificant) than both readings being high. I just started using Apple Cider Vinager w/mother to try and bring top number down to normal. I am a 54 yr. old male with a resting heart rate of approx. 46 bpm and considered to be very athletic. (6'1", 195 Lbs. 34" waist/44" chest and eat a very healthy diet).
[YEA] Galrion from Los Angeles, Ca Usa writes: "I have had hypertension for some time, and for 4 years I was on multiple medications. I recently weaned off all medicines and now I am using natural methods to reduce my blood pressure.

ACV had zero effect on my blood pressure, but quite by accident I found that baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) has a dramatic effect. I tried Xylitol, and it gave me such severe heartburn that I took baking soda to remedy it. I now add a pinch of soda to each glass of water, to my coffee grounds, etc. and I don't sense any taste of it. Anybody with a blood pressure monitor can test this. Test BP, take a glass of water with 1/8 or 1/4 tsp. baking soda, test BP again after 30 minutes. It will cost you about $1 per year to control BP this way, and most people already have the soda in the house.

The need for bicarbonate indicates that kidneys need to be detoxified... if you want to be less dependent on remedies."

Florzzy from Singapore, Western Region, Singapore writes: "Hi, I am 47 from Singapore. Last night before I go to bed, I took 2 teaspoonful of Manuka Honey dilute it in a cup of plain water, add 2 teaspoon ( some dripped into the cup so it was slightly more than 2 tsp) of Apple Cider Vinegar and drank it.

I have an Omron wrist BP reader, my BP was 137/96 (average of 2 readings) this (Wed) morning.

Before this, on Monday night my BP was 162/106 (average of 2 readings). On Tuesday morning, I took my BP again and my BP was 155/107 after a night's rest.

I told myself I don't want to end up an invalid. So, the next day (Tuesday morning) I stopped drinking coffee and stopped eating my favorite softboiled eggs and kaya toast. Instead, I drank orange juice, Bread Margarine and 1 small banana. Then later I realized that Margarine is a Hydrogenerated Fat, which is bad for the body. So, I decided to throw away the small tub of margarine I just bought.

For lunch (Tuesday afternoon) I ate 1 China fuji apple, 1 small banana, 5 inches plain french baguette and a cup of warm milo. One hour after my lunch I checked my BP. It was 154/104.

For dinner @5.30pm (Tuesday evening) I ate at a Japanese restaurant - salmon sashimi, grilled saba fish, eel, 2 pcs fried sushi lobster salad toppings, 1 tempura shrimp and vegetables, chawmushi or Japanese egg custard and some rice (left 3 quarter of the bowl of rice behind). I drank green tea and decided not to drink their miso soup because of the salt content in it. Well it looks as if I ate alot, but in fact,it was just a variety of small pieces of each item because it was a Bento spread.

Had Supper at 8.30pm - slice fish soup (my purpose was to eat the fishmeat) and 1 China fuji apple.

I took my BP at 10pm it was 144/94. Then I drank the honey apple cider vingear and went to bed at 12.30am.

My BP this morning at 9am was 137/96.

Before I found this Earth Clinic website yesterday (Tuesday afternoon)I was determined to watch what I eat to bring my BP to normal. After reading the information on apple cider vinegar I went out to buy the Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar after dinner last evening.

I am waiting to see, if I can bring down my BP to healthy level with a healthy diet drinking the Honey and apple cider vinegar.

I only started the above on Tuesday and that was my day 1."

[YEA] Lauren910 from Orlando, Fl, Usa writes: "Hi all,

I am 28 years old and have had pre-hypertension for about the last year...usual readings were anywhere from 120-130/80-87. I stumbled upon this site in hopes for a natural remedy to lower my numbers. I was giving the raw, unfiltered ACV to my pets (just a bit in their water) and I had never tried it myself. For days 1 & 2 I used 2 tbsp. 3 times a day diluted in 10 ounces of water, then went to 2 tsp. 3 times a day.

All I have to say is that the results for me were amazing. After 4 days of taking ACV, my numbers are already lower. I just took my BP this morning and it was 110/63, and this is the average since I've been taking ACV. My fiance and I work in the medical industry and have a very expensive, trusted digital BP cuff we use here at home, so I am not worried about these results not being accurate."

[YEA] Hampton from Fort Washington, Maryland writes: "First let me start with I found this site by a search to find a source to assist with HBP on 1/3/2010. I was told in 2007 my BP was Pre-Hypertension 151/114. I was not put on medication right away. I asked to attempt to reduce on my own. Because I was unsuccessful, I was put on 5mg of Lisinopril. I developed symptoms, coughing, limbs going numb, low BP. also, this med was not successful in maintaining my BP. My BP has been averaging from 139/110-132/98. After reading others testimonies, on 1/7/2010, I purchased the mother ACV. That evening I mixed 1 tablespoon of ACV, 1 tablespoon of honey in 8 ounce of water. On Friday 1/8/2010 repeated the process 3x during the day. As of 1/9/2010, I cuffed as soon as I woke up BP registered 120/85. After rising and handling several task I cuffed again BP 98/76. I DID NOT BELIEVE IT SO I CUFFED AGAIN. My BP was 106/81. YES, IT WORKS!

Thanks for your site and all the responses.

[YEA] Barry from Shawnigan Lake Bc, Canada writes: "Dear Earth Clinic, thank you so much for posting so many positive comments regarding Apple Cider Vinegar! I recently had my first bout with Gout, and ACV scored an impressive knockout! I had been taking a diuretic for high blood pressure and in my initial research I learned that my medication could be contributing to my gout. It was new years eve and I couldn't get out to see my doctor until the following monday (4 days later) I found your website and learned about ACV. I knew we had some as my wife had asked me to purchase some for home made salad dressings. It wasn't organic with "mother" but rather a typical commercial brand "pure" ACV. Beggars can't be choosers and with nothing to lose, I decided to give it a try. I followed the instructions on your website and began to take 2 tbsp with water, tomato juice, etc. Within 12 hours the swelling crested and within 36 hours I was about 80% better. I was completely cured within 5 days. My Doctor confirmed that my medication could contribute to gout and was very impressed with ACV as a remedy. I decided to read up a little more about the benefits of ACV for my high blood pressure. Well, it's been 9 days now and with my doctors blessing, I've weaned myself off my medication. I've purchased an organic brand with the "mother" (available at most specialty grocery and health food stores) and I'm happy to report that my blood pressure is steady in the 122/80 range and is lower now that when I was on the medication (135/88). Thanks again! Like the oldtimers, I've started to take it straight up (with an apple juice chaser) I have more energy and am continuing my daily routine of 1/2 shot glass 2-3 times a day as I attempt to shed 40 lbs over the next 6 months. It's the miracle I've been looking for and I'm telling the world! Cheers!"

Raw celery, apples, and red grapes daily- 2times a day at first. after 3 weeks my hbp is no longer an issue. I am strong, nausea free. i stopped anti-coag drug and replaced w 81mg adult aspirin, plus cinnamon caplets, and policosinol( all anti-coag)

I also take garlic, and am researching ginger and tumeric as daily supplmts if doctor consents. i now thinks meds are unnecessary but no doctor consent on this. I usually use, 2-3 celery stalks, one juicy red apple, and as many grapes i desire. Now i do this just once a day. Never tried ACV. My cure has to get to the root of my problem and has to be something i can do for life with no side effects. Celery, apples and grapes daily is the bomb!!!

When I woke up this morning my blood pressure was 140/80, but 40 minutes after drinking the vinegar it was 116/70. I will have to check into the effects of ingesting so much acid if I am to do this regularly. I will also start diluting the vinegar so that it doesn't wear away at tooth enamel.

[YEA] Lan from Atlanta, Ga writes: "I am surprised that no one has posted about drinking beet juice to control high blood pressure. I have been reading the EarthClinic testimonials like reading short stories novel :). I have used ACV to bring down fever from flu instantly on 4 occasions, so I was spreading the words about this site to anyone I know in the hope of sparing someone the agony of being sick with the flu. And my good intention has paid off! On Friday I went grocery shopping with my Mom. We were done, and instead of heading to the cash registers, my Mom pushed the cart around the vegetable section one more time. We stopped to look at the beautiful golden beets, she never had it before, and we were debating about trying it or not. A lady came and asked us about the gold beets, we said we did not know its taste, and she turned to the next bin and told us that the red beets are very good for the blood pressure. I pressed on and she said her husband was 179/99 and refused to take any medicine. Her son went on the internet to research and found that beets cure high blood pressure. For two and a half years now, she and her husband take 3 slices of beet a day and maintain a normal range. She said it can be boiled, pickled or roasted like a potato. I thank her and gave her this website address. Had we gone to check out 1 minute earlier, we would have missed her. Talk about good karma, I believe in it.

Now I am telling you about my Mom's story, she is 80 years old and always has high blood pressure despite her vegan diet. She had two strokes 7 years ago, almost did not make it. But luckily she recovered, her speech is still not 100% like before, but she carries a normal life now. After taking the dr's medicine for some time, she refuses to take them anymore. She said she was like half dead. One drug did not work, then another one, and that caused water retention, and another the drug to take care of that, and the numbers of pills kept piling up because of the side effects. At her check up 2 years ago, her blood pressure was 200/120, her Dr was bewildered and told me if anything happens call 911, don't come to her office. We did not see the Dr since. Mom tries to take care of herself, she peruses all the herb medicine catalogs with a dictionary because of her limited English, she orders all kinds of supplements and she is proud of herself. But her blood pressure stays on 177/99 on average. I used 1/2 a medium size beet, 2 thin carrots, and 1/2 a large apple. Put all in the blender with 3 cups of water. Pureed and poured it through a strainer and gave her 1 cup of juice before dinner and 1 before bedtime. This morning her reading was 164/98. After only two cups! I made another batch this morning with only 2 cups of water. After 1 cup and 1 hour later her latest reading was 161/96. I am so happy and eager to spread the words about this remedy to anyone out there who needs it. If you need more information about the beets, just look up "beets and high blood pressure".

Wishing everyone happy happy holidays.

I was diagnosed with exercise induced hypertension about a month ago. I am very lucky as the cardiologist told me he believes in natural medicine and he gave me until February to get better before he would put me on blood pressure meds.

The apple cider vinegar has worked. I love it so much I drink it at least 3 times daily. I put 1 tablespoon in about 8 oz.water. I add 3 packet of real lemon and 2 packets of truvia. I add ice and it tastes like a tangy lemonade.
Initially when I was worked up they had to stop the treadmill because I went in with normal BP and in 2 minutes it was 220/118. I was shocked. Never in my life have I had this problem.

Last week I was running many errands and walked back and forth across Target twice..I felt so tired I thought uh oh I better check my B/P. I went to the pharmacy and it read 130/80. That is still not my usual low BP but I think that is great after running around all day

Is it important to drink the ACV in water?I actually like the taste of ACV alone. Is there added health benefit to drinking it in water? Won't it work in lowering hbp if drinking the ACV alone without the water? Someone please reply. thank you, renate"

And my husband manages his blood pressure with 1000mg of magnesium a day: 500 in the am, 500 before bed. Works like a charm."

What is the best and most absorbable magnesium supplement? If no one can list name, then what form is best to take: powder, liquid, tablet....?

Stephanie from Burnaby, B.c., Canada writes: "Hi Thanks for this wonderful web site, I am your devote reader and supporter of most of your remedy. My father-in-law recently just have a big operation of removing the stomach and part of the esophgeals due to the cancer situation and also the lymph grand around his chest. He now depend on his duodenal and intestine to obsorb nutrients. He used to have a history of high blood pressure and slightly high blood suger level. His blood pressure has been really high (200/115)for the last few weeks and the doctor found him has edema too (swelling) Do you think I should let him try apple cider vinegar? and will that cause problem to his intestines because he has no stomach to neutralize the acid.

If I cannot add baking soda to the apple cider vinegar because of the sodium, do you think I can add other thing like magnesium and still can lower his BP? Thanks for the opportunity to post here. Hope that you can help him. He is 82 years now and its sad to see him suffer like this.

Thanks
Stephanie
