High Blood Pressure Remedies

[YEA] 02/01/2006: Donna from Lancaster SC writes: "I came across this site looking for natural results in lowering my husband's blood pressure which was 166 over 90 and had 1/3 of his lung removed due to finding lung cancer in stage 1 after we had a vehicle accident. Since we both are American Indians, I wanted something natural so I got it and tried it on him, myself and our 24 year old daughter who has asthma. We started this past Sunday and the next day I didn't feel bloated like usual so I told all at work and they just looked at me so I printed this out. Tuesday morning I had energy like never before so with the paper and they saw me and read this site they all went to get the ACV and about 20 customers were going. My husband's blood pressure is as of 1/31/06 150 over 80 and he claims that he feels like "jumping rope" so with fresh vege and lean meats and very low sodium in his diet with this is working and since Sunday i have lost 5 lbs and my hair is no longer falling out (waist length). It's so nice to comb my long hair and it isn't falling out anymore or see my hair on everything.Thank you all so much. Donna -- Geyatahi Cherokee Indian NC"

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA
[YEA] 10/06/2007: Alice from Lincoln, CA writes: "I was feeling very bad in many different ways (mostly from anemia) when I found your site. The most pressing problem I was having was high blood pressure and water retention that had come on quite suddenly and was making me feel like I might explode. The DR gave me meds, of course, they really weren't working (avg BP 160/95 with meds)and I thought I should try other methods rather than have him raise the dosage, and besides, why was I suddenly having this problem?
I had tried ACV along with my mother many years ago when I was a teenager to help with winter athritis and sore throats, but I had forgotten about it. So after reading about it on your site, I immediately started by having 2tbls ACV 1/4tsp baking soda and a little agave nectar for sweetner in a mug of hot water. Within a couple hours of my first mug I was up and about feeling better. My grown son could not believe the transformation. He happened to come by for a visit right when I was drinking that first dose and I changed right before our eyes. I'm so glad he was here to see it so I know I'm not imagining things. I continued using it at least twice a day. The first night I felt so good in my skin, it was wonderful. It took several weeks to get off the BP meds, I had only been on them several weeks before starting ACV so I think I had not become dependent on them. Other people should be very careful about changing their BP meds, DR should monitor this. The water retention problem got better and better each day and finally disappeared after a couple weeks. Last BP check at DRs was 135/85, not bad.
Amazingly, and without me expecting it, my hot flashes that had appeared with a vengence at the same time as the high BP, completely disappeared at that first mugful. It took me a couple days to realize it, but I have not had one since, not ONE hot flash since, and they were rolling in just about one an hour, and believe me they were very thoroughly HOT.
I very patiently waited before writing in to you, and it is over 5 months later now, and I have my mug once a day or more, even while staying away from home (I have been sad to leave organic ACV behind in hotel rooms because I don't know of a good way to travel with it by air). I believe my digestion is better and elimination more regular though I would not have said before that I was particularly troubled in that area. It helps my overall sense of well-being. I can certainly tell if I haven't had some for a day-- I just feel off without it.
I have to add, though, sometimes my ACV doesn't sound good, it kind of hits my stomach funny, gives me a hollow feeling, and sometimes I feel like it heats me up, not quite a hot flash, but not desirable for someone who's had too many hot flashes. I don't know what this aversion is all about, but I manage to make myself have some, even if just a more diluted version of it and in cooler water. I am always glad that I did. After reading more, I think I will try the baking soda in water alone, or the lemon juice with baking soda in water next time the ACV just doesn't sound good.
Thank you so much for this site. I am determined to continue trying things until I feel like I remember I once felt--really well and useful."

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, GARLIC, EXERCISE, ASPIRIN, EXERCISE, NO SALT
[YEA] 06/02/2007: Joel (joel.brayman@ripnet.com) from Ottawa, Ontario writes: "I am a 49 year male that has bordered on high blood pressure for some time. I do not smoke, am not overweight and have always done some level of exercise. I do have a family history of HBP. My last visit to the doctor I had a BP of 157/101. My wife (an RN) confirmed this over the next two days. The instant solution was to put me on drugs. I refused wanting to do some research and see if there was some way I could take control of this problem. I found this web site and with some other info I gathered, I changed a few things: 1. I have been taking ACV - 2 tablespoons with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and a bit of water 3 times a day for 3 weeks - hint: plug your nose with your fingers, drink up and don't let go of your nose for about 10 seconds; 2. I have been taking one 6000mcg allicin Garlic pill per day; 3. I take one low dose 81 mg aspirin when I go to bed; 4. I have been walking 30 minutes per day; and 5. I cut salt right out of my diet. I went out bought a good automatic BP monitor and have been keeping a log of my BP with 3 readings per day at my doctors insistence (to prove I should go on medication). My BP as of 10 am this morning is 121/78. I am sure it is a combination of things but thought I should let other skeptics like me know that there is something real about this natural black magic, but you must commit to making a few changes. I will return to my doctor in a month with my BP log and we agreed at that time we will decide if I should go on BP medication. I hope to continue on this path and have one heck of a surprise in store for him. I'll keep you posted."

I learned this Yoga breathing technique which does the same thing. Breath in, (through nose) half way..12345, hold...12345, breath in rest of way...12345, hold..1-5, Breath out half way through lips, 1-5, hold...1-5, finish emptying lungs as slowly as possible through pursed lips. Do 8 rounds of this. 8 is the Chinese lucky number. It is also the symbol for infinity when turned sideways. The object is to take longer on the exhale than on the inhale. I find that I can lower my BP quite a bit with this method. ...Bill"

After continued trials for a couple of weeks, my doctor advised me to stop using it. I haven't discussed this with my Dr. and I'll get off both of them about a month before my next visit with him to actually see the results. If my pressure is normal I don't think I'll tell him what I've been doing though to keep things simple. EXERCISE TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE!
[YEA] "Exercising regularly for 30 minutes a day can also lower your blood pressure as it stimulates a substance in our bodies called nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps to keep our blood vessels open. During the early stages of arteriosclerosis (or plaque build-up), one of the first things to be seen is a reduction in the amount of nitric oxide in the blood vessels. When you exercise, the accelerated pumping of the heart forces more blood to flow through the vessels. As this blood pushes its way along the lining of the vessels, more nitric oxide is released."

1 YEA[YEA] "Besides eating fish, it is also helpful if your diet includes large amounts of fruits and vegetables high in potassium and magnesium as they help the body to get rid of excess sodium. When the diet lacks these minerals, supplementation may improve blood pressure control. Foods rich in magnesium include nuts, rice, bananas, potatoes, wheat germ, kidney and lima beans, soy, and molasses. Foods rich in potassium include avocados, bananas, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, grapefruit, nectarines, oranges, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, green peas, potatoes, and squash. Apple Cider Vinegar (our favorite!) also contains potassium and magnesium.
For more information about potassium, please read our potassium fact sheet.
You can also visit http://www.unhinderedliving.com/potassium.html for more information on potassium.
Garlic appears to lower blood pressure by 5% to 10%. It can also lower cholesterol, reduce triglyceride levels, discourage clot formation, and promote blood circulation. A typical dose of garlic is 900 mg of garlic powder per day. This dosage is also recommended for lowering high cholesterol.
Fruits like apples and pears are also said to decrease blood pressure by lowering cholesterol due to their high fiber content.

2 YEA[YEA] 03/25/2007: Jo Ana from Norwich, , CT writes: "For many years, I would wake up at night, with a rapidly beating heart, gasping for breathe, etc. I have tried many remedies and again, over the years had developed high blood pressure perhaps, as a result of poor respiration at night, kidney and gallstones. Minor surgery for an impacted kidney stone and then major infirmities probably as a result of the surgery, antibiotics, HBP meds, and infections. Found your site, and I have started using food-grade H2O2 again orally and through inhalation, also extra virgin coconut oil, iodine, and cider vinegar. Within 2 weeks, HBP gone, no liver/GB pain or distress, and a major increase in energy and a returning sense of well-being. Sleeping through the night like a baby. Please be aware that I tried EDT suppositories and ionic footbaths for relief from toxicity, with only an increase in distress. I credit my body's healing to the H202, cider vinegar, coconut oil, iodine, and coffee enemas to eliminate the toxins. I truly appreciate this website and my return to health, after all these years of less than optimal functioning. I had had a normal body temp of 96.8 for years and after initiated Lugol's iodine footpainting, within this time period as well, my normal body temp is up to 98 from below 97, which is also a really good thing. 1 YEA[YEA] 09/29/2007: Ted writes: "Subject: Is the Sodium Responsible for Blood Pressure or Is it the Chloride:While the problems of chlorides was known almost a century ago, not the sodium problem, many people keep arguing to me about the sodium. Sodium bicarbonate and sodium citrate don't cause blood pressure to rise. It is the halogens, in particular is the chloride found in sodium chloride, fluoride, bromine (this one is powerful) are the ones that caused the most problem based on my own observations. Here is some recent medical literature regarding my observations:: Med Hypotheses. 2004;63(1):138-48.Links
Should we restrict chloride rather than sodium? McCarty MF.
Pantox Laboratories, 4622 Santa Fe St., San Diego, CA 92109, USA. mmccarty@nai-online.com
Low-salt diets have potential for prevention and treatment of hypertension, and may also reduce risk for stroke, left ventricular hypertrophy, osteoporosis, renal stones, asthma, cataract, gastric pathology, and possibly even senile dementia. Nonetheless, the fact that salt restriction evokes certain counter-regulatory metabolic responses-- increased production of renin and angiotensin II, as well as increased sympathetic activity--that are potentially inimical to vascular health, has suggested to some observers that salt restriction might not be of unalloyed benefit, and might in fact be contraindicated in some "salt-resistant" subjects. Current epidemiology indicates that lower-salt diets tend to reduce coronary risk quite markedly in obese subjects, whereas the impact of such diets on leaner subjects (who are less likely to be salt sensitive) is equivocal--seemingly consistent with the possibility that salt restriction can exert countervailing effects on vascular health. There is considerable evidence that sodium chloride, rather than sodium per se, is responsible for the known adverse effects of dietary salt. Other non-halide sodium salts, such as sodium citrate or bicarbonate, do not raise plasma volume, increase blood pressure, boost urinary calcium loss, or promote stroke in stroke-prone rats. Nonetheless, these compounds have been shown to blunt the impact of salt restriction on renin, angiotensin II, and sympathetic activity in humans. This may rationalize limited clinical evidence that organic sodium salts can decrease blood pressure in salt-restricted hypertensives. Furthermore, organic sodium salts have an alkalinizing metabolic impact favorable to bone health. These considerations suggest that restricting dietary salt to the extent feasible, while encouraging consumption of organic sodium salts in mineral waters, soft drinks, or other nutraceuticals--preferably in conjunction with organic potassium salts and taurine--may represent a superior strategy for controlling blood pressure, promoting vascular health, and preserving bone density. Further clinical studies should determine whether a moderately salt-restricted diet supplemented with organic sodium salts has a better and more uniform impact on hypertension than salt restriction alone, while rodent studies should examine the comparative impact of these regimens on rodents prone to vascular disease.

Now it is 118/78. For fats you can have low amounts, flax oil (can't be heated), olive oil, and coconut oil (no more than 1/2 a teaspoon a day). At all cost avoid canola oil it is very toxic to the body. Meditation will help lower blood pressure, so will yoga, yoga can teach you how to meditate or go to a zen buddhist temple nearby. From juicing fresh vegetables you will lose weight and you will be less hungry. So get out there a get a juicer"
