<description>[YEA] Karen from Atlanta, Georgia writes: "My blood pressure was high. 198 over something. I couldn\'t take any prescriptions for it other than a diuretic (prescription) because my muscles in my thighs kept hurting. That can be a dangerous side effect especially since your heart is a muscle.

1,000mg of Taurine and my blood pressure went down to 150 over something. Then 130 over something. With a prescription diuretic and 1000mgs of Taurine my blood pressure is in the teens.

<description> Chyde from Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria writes: "Hi Everyone, glad to be part of the community and the wonderful remedies I am now aware of. I am thankful to the creators of this site and all contributors.

Now to my enquiry, I have read of the benefits of ACV for HBP sufferers and decided to give it a try. I was unable to get the one with the mother in it but simply went ahead with the store option. Problem is that my bp went up to 170/120 from 150/100 which was already high. I had to check my BP when I noticed migranelike heacache of which I still have a little left. I am simply wondering if there was anything I did wrong.

I tried as well to add Sodium Bicarbonate and Cayene pepper most times when I take the ACV also. At other times, I will simply take the extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice combo for the pain I had on my right lower flank abdomen. None of the scans prior to the Lemon Juice/ EVCO did not show any kidney stones. However, pain was gone after I took the lemon juice and EVCO. I stopped when the pain stopped. When pain tried to surface again, I did same thing again and pain was gone. I simply keep lemon fruits and EVCO handy in case pain tries to surface again. And of course, I take a lot of water everyday. This is in addition to my family\'s weekly routine of frshly squeezed juice (orange, watermelon, pineapple, lemon etc) drink. I also add Moringa to my meals also as much whenever I eat those food that it is easy to combine with. Is there something I did not do right?

I saw my physician today and immediately went back to the medication (Novasc 10mg) that I use whenever my blood pressure goes up. Had to do that in the interim while I await feedback from members of the community. I generally do not take the medication all the time but as is required and this is usually when my pressure goes up. I indeed will love to control my blood pressure naturally.

Secondly, I recommended the lemon juice / EVOO cumbo for my father in-law. 3 tablespoon Lemon juice and 3 tablespoon EVOO. He has HBP, diabetes and was diagnosed in August with prostrate cancer. He complians about painful urination sort of. I recommended the cayenne pepper / warm water combination. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper / 8 oz glass of water 3x daily. <description> Jaype from Nha Trang, Vietnam writes: "Hi Ted, I have been reading most of the posts and your replies (thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, time and experience) and I will certainly give a try to some of yours suggestions (Bicarbonate citrus lime). But before I do so, I need to ask you a few more questions.

1. I recently read a lot about wheat grass. It is very popular here in Asia (Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand). But what I read about is what the companies or distributors say... of course they highly praise their product. I am 68 and since a month I have high blood pressure (up to 140-150). It\'s family history. I would like to know if I could really find relieve with wheat grass. (I don\'t mention brand names)

2. One the Google ad on this site suggests another solution: Detoxifying the liver and kidneys. Would I find relieve with this? (Again, I don\'t mention the name)

For the first time of my life I feel I am at a very, very important crossroad. I now need to take the right turn. To help you better understand my situation: Alcohol, although I quit reasonable taking, was surely an issue. I tried several times to lose weigh without success (now 80kg). I don\'t smoke and do regular biking and walking. I take one aspirin a day, and my diet is mainly fruits and vegies (I removed a lot of meat from my menu). I love extra virgin olive oil, one homemade yogurt a day and homemade bread. I don\'t know what else to change.

Before I decide to spend too much money with any miracle solution (grass or detox), I would like to know if what you propose (Bicarbonate citrus lime) would be sufficient in my case or whoever in a similar situation. Should I go for grass or detox?

Thanks for your precious advises, Good bless.

I will attest to the fact that cardiovascular exercise did help temporarily for me, but not much else did. One day, I ended up in hospital due to very high blood pressure, pounding headache, pounding, racing heart etc. I asked the Dr. If it could be food allergies and he looked at me like I had two heads and said \"schedule a physical. \" What- and wait 6 months while I suffer ever escalating blood pressure and deadly symptoms each night?! I don\'t think so. I went to a naturopath who also thought \"food allergies\" and did some testing (blood tests). She found I was allergic to about 1/3 of food items I regularly ate. I dropped (with difficulty) those items from my diet and my blood pressure gradually came down back to low normal.

I do know that a helmet is essential if you ride a motorcycle and clean food is essential if you want to go on living. I know how essential it is that a good doctor [tell me if you find one] will give you the following information.

\'White coat syndrome\' increases blood pressure …. Mmhg

Circadian rhythm \'High Tides\' 0600am. 1200am &amp;1700pm, increases blood pressure ….mmhg

\'Low Tides\' 0300am and 1500pm, and lowers blood pressure….mmhg

It is \'essential to list the BP monitors that falsely show increased BP.

T…..o wrist monitor over reads systolic &amp; diastolic by 6 mmhg to 8 mmhg.

O…..n upper arm monitor over reads systolic 3 to 8 mmhg, diastolic under reads 3 mmhg.

I know how \'essential\' it is to take at least one more BP check 15 minutes after the first because it usually shows a lower - by around 5mmhg - more accurate reading.

I couldn\'t find mmhg figures for circadian rhythms and you may have different home monitors.

You can take this info along with you, he won\'t like it, but that\'s not your concern – nor his.

You need to dispel the imposed fear that increases BP.

<description>[YEA] Xia from Los Angeles, Ca writes: "My dad (a scientist/atheist) had extremely high blood pressure that was not being controlled with prescription meds (even though he was taking 3 different kinds of blood pressure meds! )

I read on webMD that meditation with a mantra helps reduce blood pressure. I asked my dad to do an experiment. First, to take his blood pressure. He did. It was 179/76. Then I asked him to chant \"Nam-myoho-renge-kyo\" with me for 15 minutes (it is a Buddhist chant that means \"dedication to the mystical/inexplicable Law of Cause and Effect through sound/vibration\"). He only chanted for 7 minutes and then wanted to take his blood pressure again, immediately. He did, and his blood pressure was 105/67.

We tried this experiment every day for a week. Every time, it worked to lower his blood pressure.

Chanting definitely reduces blood pressure. I have also used chanting to relieve anxiety, reduce depression and to access the subconscious mind. Try it and see!!! It\'s free and it works.

<description> Art from Tustin, Ca. Usa writes: "In reply to, Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa: You\'re welcome!

It seems like wherever I go, I run into people with hypertension/high blood pressure, so it must be fairly prevalent. Given that high fructose corn syrup and high levels of table salt in processed foods are the norm in many peoples diets, I can certainly see why high blood pressure would be a common problem. Btw, I read another 2010 rat study that suggested that the nac/arginine combo might also help offset the known hypertensive effects of a high fructose high salt diet. It was only a rat study and those don\'t always translate directly into human equivalency, but it is promising and worth further study in humans.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19806432

In further reading it seems like citrulline, a precursor of arginine might also be effective with nac or even with nac arginine. The safety profile of these three along with their other health benefits seems like it may be a good first line hypertensive therapy approach before trying the prescription route if people are so inclined.

To answer your question, I continued with what I was already taking as I was taking things like the potassium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin d, multi-vitamin and vitamin b complex for other health benefits other than high blood pressure reduction so I didn\'t want to lose out on those potential health benefits, plus there is the possibility that those supplements may have been partially controlling my blood pressure already.

I hope others are able to derive benefit from this reasonably priced and readilly available combo(nac/arginine) with the good safety profile! It is amazing to me that there were no direct follow up studies after that promising one in 2008. I guess if it isn\'t patentable, then funding may be hard to come by.

<description>[YEA] Art from Tustin, Ca. Usa writes: "My blood pressure has averaged around 130/85 for quite a few years, but in the past two years it has been inching up until it recently started hitting the 160/100 area despite regular use of magnesium, potassium, vitamin d and other supplements and vitamins as well as the apple cider vinegar/bs protocol which seemed to have no effect on my blood pressure. I also tried hibiscus tea as mentioned by others on this site, but that actually caused me to put on weight and worsened my high blood pressure....... I suspect, due to the sugar that I used to sweeten the tea. I\'ve tried other ideas also, but to no avail and I didn\'t want to go on prescription drugs due to the potential negative side effects.

I recently read a 2008 study about people with diabetes and hypertension who were treated with a combination of arginine and n acetyl cysteine (nac), two commonly available substances at online vitamin sites.

http://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/31/5/940.long

At the dosages used in this study, arginine and nac have a fairly good safety profile and from the study results, they not only lowered blood pressure, but produced side effects that were also positive such as lowering ldl cholesterol while raising hdl cholesterol (the good one) and lowering levels of adhesion molecules vcam1 and icam1. It also lowered high sensitivity crp, a common marker of inflammation in the body. Add in the antiatherosclerotic effects and it seems like a good combination so I started taking them two weeks ago. One drawback to this study is the small number of participants, but the results were striking enough to make me want to try it.

Nac by itself has hundreds of studies suggesting it has many health benefits in humans, some related to its efficacy as a potent antioxidant.

I just took my blood pressure reading and it was 123/83. I am taking more than what was used in the study, at least initially and plan to go down to the study dose after a month or so.

I take 600mg of nac with 1 gram of arginine, three times per day for a total of 1.8 grams of nac and 3 grams of arginine per day.

So since then I tried water, garlic and ACV/BS without significant result while keep reading EC for more things to try out. I came across virgin coconut oil VCO so I did take it just 1tsp last night. 2 hrs later I was seeing the readings were on the way down. Early this morning I had another 1 tsp. Well, I did take coconut water drink too as the same time. So I\'m not sure who did the work or was it both?

To my total surprise when I checked the BP this morning it was 120/80, a number I was striving to achieve for a very long time.

Let see how long it will last - I pray for the best.

This procedure mostly occurs in the arteries going into the kidney, but can occur anywhere in the body. The symptoms are different for each location. In the kidney it results in uncontrolled high blood pressure. This affliction occurs mostly in women and usually manifests between the ages of 25-50. It can also happen before and after these ages. I am just wondering if anyone else who reads Earth Clinic is aware of FMD or has FMD and if so, have you found any natural ways of dealing with this.

<description>[WORKED TEMPORARILY] Gussie from Atlanta writes: "I have high blood pressure also. For over 10 years, I no longer eat fast foods, very little process foods, no cheese, no ice cream, no red meat, and no pork. I even stop eating out in restaurants. My bp will still read 140 / 88, sometimes 127 / 82 most of the time. I take garlic, Niacin, and Magneisium pills, and I still have to struggle to get down to the standard 120 / 80. I\'m skinny, 5\'6\" 141 lbs Female. So losing weight is not an option. I exercised at the gym for over 8 months, it came down a little, but never made a big difference. I drink at least 40 ozs of water, sometime more, and sometimes less. It gets very frustrating. After awhile, you\'re doing so much of taking this and taking that, you fill like you\'re about to go crazy!

I have tried Alkaline water, Apple Cider Vinegar, Hydrogen Peroxide, earthing. Oops, forgot to mention something. Whenever I cut or rake the grass for 2 or more hours, my blood pressure drops down to 111/ 68. Then 6 hours later, it starts going back up. Hmmm, I stopped earthing because I\'ve been taking care of this 96 year old lady. If you guys can hit me back with so other alternatives, I really appreciate it. My last day of Caregiving is late May. I will reply back by the end of the Summer, maybe sooner! I\'m going to try earthing for a month or two, and see how it works out. After all, Earthing is FREE, and you\'re pulling electrons up into your body from the ground. It\'s very interesting. Did you know a Free Radical is missing an Electron? Stand on the Earth barefoot, and absorb all the Electrons you want. Electrons will stabilize the Free Radicals. Earthing is like getting FREE Antioxidants! - Gotta Go, will keep in touch.

<description>[YEA] Carolyn from Tulsa, Ok writes: "Fig leaf tea normalizes blood sugar level, lowers high blood pressure and keeps the arteries clean.

Two teaspoons of dried fig leaves in one cup of boiling water (steeped for 20 minutes) and drank each morning will normalize the blood sugar in a matter of days.

Dried fig leaves are not easy to find in the US, but Lloyd Kretizer at www.landofenfigment.com sells them for $5 a (quart) bag which will last about two months of drinking a cup of tea at breakfast each day. (That\'s all that\'s needed.)

In answer to some questions, yes, I tried the Mother and faithfully practiced the protocol, yes, I have had my adrenals checked and double checked. I also completely re-read the blood pressure thread and it seems what works for some doesn\'t work for other. I just have to find it. My offer stands.... $500.00 to you or your favorite charity if I can find my cure. God bless you all
